Sorry it's self (Nini) deprecating angst.

Ninira didn’t much like navigating the crowds of venues. She usually arrived early, sat in a seat and stayed there until the flow of people towards the door was manageable enough for her to handle. Any time she did dare to brave the crowd she tried to make sure she did so with a friend close by. 

Estinien had joined her this time, for which she was grateful, she had needed the washroom, while he had stopped by the bar to grab a drink. He was now leading the way back to the table, Ninira following close as he parted the crowds enough for her to slip after him. They were nearly back to the group when a gaggle of girls intercepted them, or more specifically Estinien. 

Two Au Ra, and a Miqo'te. Ninira couldn’t hear well over the din of the venue but it was evident what they wanted. A picture, something signed. Nastrond might not be famous by any means but they still gathered crowds, and fans. They clustered around, eager to speak with him and Ninira couldn’t help but notice how much more they seemed to fit in, especially when she compared them to herself. 

They were tall, pretty, slender legs in torn jeans and fishnet tights. Thick platform boots and dark smokey makeup. One wore a Nastrond shirt that she had clearly modified herself, transforming it into a grungy sleeveless crop top. It suited her, she looked like she was made to wear it.

Ninira’s own band shirt felt baggy and awkward in comparison. 

One was eagerly taking Estinien’s drink, offering to hold it for him, while the one in the Nastrond shirt pressed up close beside him, cheeks flushed. Their remaining friend, holding up a phone to get the perfect shot. She stepped back, forcing Ninira back into the crowd as she almost trod on Ninira’s toes, unaware she was even there. 

They had no reason to notice her, she was just Estinien’s scruffy knee high shadow, following after him in hopes no one looked too closely and realized she didn’t belong.

She swallowed, a sudden lump in her throat. 

The entire venue seemed to bore down on her, the crowd around her a sea of looming people who were all effortlessly coordinated. She was like a puzzle piece noticeably forced into the wrong hole, trying to act like she fit, like she matched. Her band shirt felt like a lie. Like at a glance anyone could deduce she was some fake of a fan. 

The lump in her throat seemed to swell, it was hard to breathe. The venue was already so crammed, so stuffy. She needed to leave, to get outside. 

Her jacket and bag are back at the table, it seems stupid to go back for them, she knows this but logic is hardly fulling her actions. She is panicking, pushing through the crowd until it suddenly breaks and she’s back at the table, snatching her things.

She’s half aware of her quick reply. “Need to go.” To the confused questions from her friends, if they even think of her as such, as she grabs her belongings and pushes back into the crowd. She can’t dawdle, can’t allow for the possibility for anyone to see the way the lump in her throat has now become a burning behind her eyes. 

Crying here will just make her stand out even more.

So that one is a lil something I was inspired to write after Laz posted that gpose of Aymeric in the Westlake rope harness. I barely have more than Estinien getting back to the manor and opening the bedroom door, but it's post EW once the three of them have sorted out their shit and became a closed triad so it's Aymeric and Estinien having some alone time together.

I do plan on finishing it at some point but the HW fic is taking precedence, so for now that's just my happy space I go to when I want to think of some good elf fuckin'.

Favorite moment: ik its everyone's fave but the requiem scene got me hooked on him, like it just like stayed in my brain perminantly after that, another one is when he's speaking to killua and gon in the rain, like i love how ominous he looks in that scene. And ofc recently w the lil childhood arc we got for the phantom troupe recently, it was so cute seeing a time when chrollo was like rly happy amongst the troupe and how fascinating their whole dynamic is as a group.

Idea for a story: uhhh hm i honestly cant think of one for him???

Unpopular opinion: ik how that fandom is when it comes to the phantom troupe so i always keep my opinions to my damn self LMFAO

First impression: (MIND YOU i got into xiv as a teen in school and I didn't rly care abt the characters in xiv cos i was just playing for fun then besides like Estinien) I didn't rly like him/ didn't pay him much mind until like stb and shb.

Impression now: I love him so much like he's genuinely one of my fave characters in ff anyways, thanks to 5.3 that was a rly emotional day LOL. But uh??? he's def the only ffxiv character I've drawn the most besides my own wols. Pandaemonium is just making the brainrot worse oTL

Favorite moment: hmmm I rly loved just the entirety of his parts in 5.3 (also getting to hear his voice i love it) but the one that hit hardest for me was when he reached out in that one cutscene and the og wol was in it, i screamed LOL I'm a big square soft ff lore nerd so i was jumping for sure hehe. Uhh also in Pandaemonium with the famous 'say my name' part like gods i wish that was voiced i wish it was.

Agnes blinked. It certainly is for you, love! She carefully walked by him and sat on the bed. Somehow, by some fucking miracle, he managed to remove his boots and clothes and flopped into bed. With a glassy-eyed, dreamy look, he stared at his wife.

“Wanna cuddle?”

“Of course, love. Just need a second to adjust the pillows.” But as she rearranged a few things on her side of the large bed, Estinien whined.

“Faaasch me. Me. Lookit me.” He pointed to himself extremely seriously. “Wanna schee your pretty pretty pretty fasche.”

Agnes wrinkled her nose and giggled. “Okay, love. Anything you want.” Anything. Everything. If I could give you the world I could. You mean everything to me. She placed her glasses on the side table, lay on her side (very comfy), and put a pillow between her legs (for more comfort!). Immediately, Estinien rubbed her pale cheek with his calloused fingers. “You good, love?”

“Mmhhmm. Schweet schawschage roll. My Agi.” Even completely shitfaced, he’s the most adorable man ever. “Agi, are you happy?” He whispered softly, eyes full of emotion. “Am I doing ‘nuff for you? For our baby?”

She smiled and leaned into his touch. “Yes you are, ‘Stinien. Why do you ask?” Because you’re drunk off your ass, but that’s besides the point.

His eyelids began to flutterwhile he took a deep breath. “Jus’ makin’ sure. Alwaysh want my Agi to be happy. Baby too. My Agi…our baby…”

“Are you happy, love?” I already know the answer. I see it in your smiles every day, how carefree you are. I see it, and it fills my heart with joy.

“My Agi…our baby…makesh me happy…” he smiled softly, eyes now closed. “Get to be together…” Oh dear, he’s definitely asleep now. He has the cutest little snores. Night, love. We’ll always be together. Always.

“You’re being too nice to someone like me.” Estinien’s voice is a grumble of disgust, yet the bliss on his face as you drag your fingers through his hair and trace the curve of his pointed ears clearly contradicts him, so you do not pause in your gentle ministrations even as he huffs a sigh and frowns up at you with his head pillowed on your lap.

“Is that so?” You ask lightly, smiling down at him with such clear affection that it is enough to make the Azure Dragoon avert his eyes and flush a pleasing pink.

 It is all you can do to not stop in the middle of your pampering session to kiss him senseless. Truly, he had no right to be so frustratingly adorable. 

Estinien clears his throat, “Yes.”

You give a noncommittal hum, tracing his ears to watch in delight as his eyelashes fluttered with pleasure at your teasing touch. “We will simply have to disagree, then. It is of mine opinion that you deserve this.” And much more.

Estinien gives another grumbling huff that dies into a groaning whine as you drag your nails over his scalp. He shudders in your lap, mouth parting with a sigh.  

You drink him in, feeling quite blissful yourself. Really it was as much for him as it was for you, if you were to be truly honest. To pamper Estinien. To touch him gently and to not be rudely rebuffed. It was a gift that you would most definitely not squander. 

You bite back a grin, stopping for but a moment in jest, and give a teasing tiny laugh at Estinien’s thoughtless groan of protest. 

“What’s that? I thought you wanted me to stop?”

Estinien grunts, cracking an eye open to glare at you half-heartedly. “I take it back, you are as wicked as they come.” 

You give another startled little laugh at that. “Forgive me, then. Will you allow me this? Shall I continue?” You had plans to braid flowers into his hair.

Estinien hums as if he were considering your request. “…I’ll allow it.”

You lean down then, smiling soft with your feelings for him, and press a gentle kiss to the corner of his lips.

Estinien cups your face before you move away, neck craning upwards to steal another kiss. You smile, kissing him several times before Estinien settles down in your lap again. His eyes twinkle up at you, lips curving in a smug little smile. “I’ll allow that, too.”

You snort a laugh. “Oh, how generous of you.”

Estinien grins. “I know.”

I don't have very much about them yet because I'm still too early in the game to have hit the Au Ra lore and I don't play either of them (have Isse as an alt but he's like level 6 or something tiny) so they're just kinda background characters that I think about and draw because they're fun designs. But in my mind Tuuya is an experienced adventurer who is in it for 20% glory, 80% experiences. Wants to see everything and do everything and taste everything and get into places she's not supposed to be just because she can. She's tiny but this is Seahorse Headcanon so being tiny is associated with mad BDE and she still acts all swaggered and self assured even far away from home lol. She thinks she has great taste and will go to lengths to acquire things that express that great taste (in the version where these two interact with my actual WOL she's always handing him ingredients like COOK THIS FOR ME)

Isse's a lil village boy who was very attracted to this mysterious traveler, he's got dreamy aspirations but his confidence is false without someone to guide him because he's big and stupid and on some level realises that, he's all o///o blushu around her but very interested in everything she's bragging about and she decides she's going to spirit him away on fancy adventures like Doctor Who.

I feel like they get away with a lot of weird-couple shit just by being the only Au Ra anyone has ever met. Isse thinks he's being bad because he's wearing something that's showing his pouch but THEY don't know that lmao.

Also she's constantly taking advantage of his size and riding around on his shoulders and if she decides they're lying to authorities and sneaking around and conning people just to get somewhere then he'll instantly play along. They're both like... extremely energetic. Tuuya is a lady chad, Isse would be a himbo but he's not buff enough he's got the snatched waist. They're my ocs I use for smut stuff more than gameplay because like, my actual WOL Patchah'li is currently a dragoon losing his dang mind to the blood because training with Estinien next to the Eye of Nidhogg has unlocked the repressed rage of a lifetime of trauma, so that's really intense, but these two? They're just kind of silly and smexy

or: hi, i'm going to talk about starfinder au. apologies for the sequence of words i am about to put on your screen but i think nini would have a great time as an akashic lorekeeper mystic (but like...intelligence-based. i wish starfinder had more straight spellcasting classes.) imagine her with a MIND PALACE full of BOOKS. and sometimes she can PHYSICALLY WALK INTO HER MIND PALACE. bookshop au but it's magic and in space!!!!!!

with that established, time for shenanigans:

nini's a jack-of-all-trades, good-for-those-random-skill-checks-no-one-took-ranks-in type, probably does a lot of background research/support for SCION (a networking hub for Space Mercenaries who Fight Evil). hanami's more a charge-in-swords-blazing type but whenever she's going on assignment somewhere she's not familiar with she's knocking on nini's door. nini knows everything, and if she doesn't know she can find out.

when nini's not doing research for SCION she's looking for information on the Gap, a weird universe-wide event that spanned multiple millennia during which all memory—living, (un)dead, digital, divine—was erased. no one knows what happened during the gap or even exactly how long it lasted, but somewhere in there an entire planet kind of went missing, so it's a fairly big deal.

nini and hanami go on expeditions together to a moon called Salvation's End, which is (fittingly) actually a man-made moon, run by an AI that maintains multiple simulations of different pre-Gap civilizations that have since either been wiped out or forced to leave their home worlds. they never manage to get into the same sim twice but it's always a good time, in the "oh shit we might die" kind of way, and it's also an anthropologist's wet dream. hanami runs guard duty while nini walks around taking notes and chatting up the locals.

nini's mind palace has blankets and a steaming pot of tea in it so sometimes she calls it up and wanders inside just to have a nap. it's really not big enough to fit a couch built for a seven-foot-tall dragonkin but by god she tries, so hanami can also come in and nap after a long day of getting chased around a moon.

nini, unlike hanami, actually is an Official Starfinder(TM). she hasn't taken on many society missions in the last few years due to society drama (that resulted in, like, 75% of its membership going missing) but it's where she met estinien.

and they were from rival factions (oh my god they were from rival factions). nini's a dataphile, estinien was an exo-guardian (before he left the starfinders for good in the wake of the Oops We Fucked Up And 75% Of Our Members Went Missing incident). "rival" is used loosely here since for the most part the different factions work together fine/don't have any direct conflicts of interest.

i haven't done any organized play adventures for this year but from what i know about the story nini would be all over it, it's all about a series of data and information heists conducted against the starfinder society. anyway.

nini and hanami are both telepaths (hanami comes by it naturally, nini's is magical). nini's specific brand of telepathy can work very similarly to the echo, in that she can voluntarily view scenes from a person or place's past. this means they both join krile in actively harassing him.

estinien, indignant: that's not how that WORKS hanami: not for me. but it does for her nini: :)

(she only rarely actually uses her power for evil)

hanami travels outside of the pact worlds a lot for different jobs and ALWAYS comes back with a new snack or drink for nini to try. their, uh, edibility is usually up for questioning, because alien food, but none of it will outright kill them (probably). it's definitely better than anything that comes out of a culinary synthesizer.

once a year nini and hanami try to schedule a week or two off missions and drag their respective beaus out to arkanen for the yearly lightning festival. it's mostly a draw for technomancers, who study at the local university, but the gang loves it because something about being on a moon rocketing through a lightning storm older than some stars never gets old.
