My first gift to Chucky is publishing extracts from his very own guide book on child rearing. It’s his perspective on the kids he’s encountered, including his own. I warn you, it’s not to everyone’s taste, even I winced when I read what he wanted me to publish on this blog, but then he reminded me that it’s Father’s Day and that he simply wanted to share his fatherly wisdom, so… here you go.

Why hello, my name is Chucky, welcome to my childcare guide book. I have many years of experience being around kids, I even have two of my own. In all of my years, I’ve searched desperately for a book or some sort of video guide that could help me understand the young people in my life, but nothing I found ever related to my exact situation. This is the guide that I wish I’d had back in the 1980s. If you’re somehow seeing this Andy, I blame you for everything that’s gone wrong in my life.

Modern Teenagers:

The most important thing I can teach you about the youth of today is that you have to relate to them on their level. One thing I like to do when I’m talking to a modern day teenager is reference Instagram. Remember how exciting it was when you were a kid and grownups would reference the Batman comic you’d just read? This is the modern day equivalent. Have I ever used the app? Not really, but I did talk to a teenager (thank you Junior, RIP) who assured me that Insta followers are a very valued commodity for today’s youth.

A lot of teenagers don’t actually like me. Can’t figure out why, I’m very cool. If you experience the same issue, I can recommend that you should not aim to traumatise teenagers unless you have a goal, because some of them have the strength of full grown adults along with raging hormones, it’s like fighting the Hulk. Word of advice - it’s usually frowned upon to try and offer a teenager drugs, and many teens will decline before murdering you in a brutal fashion.

Young Kids:

Kids under the age of ten make better stooges, but if they have good parents, it’s harder to make them do what you want. Some manipulation persuasion tactics that I’ve used in the past with young kids include:

Convincing a boy that I was sent by his deceased father to be his companion/playmate (successful for about two days, not recommended for the long term)

Convincing a girl that her mother was not her biological mother in order to fill that maternal role with my ex instead

Convincing another girl that I wanted to play a game called ‘Hide the Soul’ then possessing her body (RIP Alice Pierce)

Little kids are surprisingly easy to convince that your way is for the best, but this gift is to be used sparingly in order to avoid the risk of said kid getting wise to what’s happening and not following your leadership. Another top tip - if the child you are trying to manipulate persuade has protective older relatives that are surprisingly skilled with a variety of weapons and forms of combat, figure out at least five potential exits from the situation or else you will be killed.

Introducing Your Biological Children To Your Interests:

As previously mentioned, I have two kids of my own. Can I tell you how old they are? …No, I’m not actually sure. I wanna say twenty? No… they were ‘born’ in 2004, so… nineteen at the most.

Anyway, my kids- twins, Glen and Glenda- are quite strange. The older one didn’t see the value of murder, and the younger one seemed kinda psychotic when I met them. But still, I tried to install a love of violence in my eldest child, because that’s how I bond with others.

What I did was I took my older child out hunting late at night when their mother was sleeping (‘recovering from addiction’, don’t ask). I even introduced the kid to a celebrity (before mercilessly killing them… oops, I did it again) as we made our way to the house of a guy I didn’t like. My intention was to have the kid watch, but they were clearly so inspired by the incident in the car that they decided to take matters into their own hands. I’ve never been more proud, and I was even prouder a day or so later when they used what I taught them to kill me.

Now, I’m not saying that this technique will work for everyone, but it was very effective for me. Of course, every child is different. I mean, take my little Glenda for example (not so little anymore really). They were in control for all of five minutes, but they used their limited time in control of the body to murder a woman with a flamethrower and then make an incredible joke about it. That’s the sort of talent that a kid has to be born with, whereas my older child Glen had to coaxed into killing, but when they did, it was absolutely glorious.

So my advice to you, dear reader, is to choose an interest of yours that you’re best at to focus on and pass on to your child. If they pick it up and have a talent for it, great! Your talent will live on. But if they don’t quite get it or like it, it’s still a much needed chance to bond with your child, especially if you don’t see them for years.

Reaching Out To The Children You Haven’t Seen For Years As An Adult:

I have a lot of experience with this. Andy Barclay, Barbara and Nica Pierce as well as my own kids have all gone many years without seeing me, and when I reentered their lives, I did it in a big way. Murder attempts are a classic way to go, but what if you’re looking for henchmen assistants? Two words for you, my friends: compliments and persuasion. Young kids will believe almost anything you say (see above) and older kids who are starved for affection will do whatever you ask in the hopes of receiving more affection. It’s foolproof.

Final Words:

Kids are interesting, complex tiny humans who don’t quite understand how the world works. I’m not an expert, but I did consult my childhood therapist whilst writing this, who told me the following:

‘Small children are ridiculously easy to mould and teenagers are ticking time bombs of anxiety. He or she who controls children controls the future.’

Do I think that’s a good takeaway from this guide book? Not quite, even I think that’s a tad too far. I just felt it was necessary to include it, because it’s… certainly a quote.

Ok so like I said earlier I wanna go on a ramble about how Gangrel is super cool if you know the rules of Vampire the Masquerade. And I’m doing that now so sit down. This will be a bit of a longer ramble gulp.

Ok so. First things first! What is Vampire the Masquerade you may be asking? Well. Vampire the Masquerade is a table top rpg! Focusing on your life as a vampire in a neo gothic world where you main priority is to protect the Masquerade and make it to the next night.

Now you maybe be asking. Masquerade? What is that!? Well the Masquerade in VTM is an act every vampire plays to keep their secret world of vampires hidden. Now not all Vampires Believe in the art of protecting the Masquerade and this is the first talking point I was to bring up. Btw you’re all gonna learn a lot of Vampire terminology so get your notebooks ready.

1. Gangrel and the Sabbat.

Sabbat? What’s a sabbat? In VTM there’s what you can consider. Political beliefs, Camarilla, Anarch, and Sabbat. I won’t be going into the other two but the major thing between Anarch and Camarilla is they believe in upholding the masquerade, which is the idea that you should keep being a vampire hidden from mortal society, while the Sabbat does not. One of the Sabbat’s core beliefs is that they are monsters. And they should be proud of it and show it off.

Now does that sound like a certain vampire we know? If Gangrel was trying to keep secret that his character was a vampire that would be a different story. However how he proudly gloats it with the blood and sharp fangs he proudly shows off. He feels like a Sabbat vampire! There’s also a brutality with the way he fights that can be associated with the Sabbat.

2. The name.

Gangrel is the name of a clan in VTM. Clans are the types of Vampires you can become once you are embraced (turned into a vampire.) and there are many to choose from.

Many people once turned into Vampires will change their names to leave their old lives behind. Some Vampires have lived hundreds of lives depending on how long they’ve been alive.

Also this is a side point but for Gangrel to be named Gangrel they have to get the approval of White Wolf (the people at the time who were Producing and writing VTM books and such.) so we can assume these guys had base knowledge of the character they were making.

3. The Brood.

In VTM games, the group you play with is your Cotiere. A cotiere is a group of vampires that you work with, associate with, are friends with, etc. in a way. While I have personal Headcannons for what type of Vampires Christian and Edge could be. (Personally I think Christian is a Tremere and Edge is a Lasombra. But I’m willing to hear others opinions!!!) I don’t know if I’d call the brood a group of friends, but they definitely work together to incite fear into the federation. HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THE BLOODBATH SHIT THEY DO ITS METAL AND ITS SO COOL THEY DO IT TOGETHER

4. Ok this might be a reach- The intro music.

Ok so Gangrel and the Brood’s entrance theme starts with whispers. Now what the hell could this relate to huh? Well in the 2004 video game Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines. (Considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time you should all play it if you have a chance twirls hair.) the player clan Malkavian hear similar whispers. Malkavian’s vampirc curse is their… madness. While the representation in Bloodlines can be considered extremely harmful to people with mental illness, there have been many strides to have better and more accurate representation for players today. It’s just.. a bad product of the time. However I’m not here to talk about Bloodlines I’m here to talk about GANGREL BABY!

Anyways the whispering used for their intro theme and the whispering in bloodlines is very similar IMO and it once again relates Gangrel to VTM Lore

5. Iconography and signs

Gangrel and the Brood had a repeating sign of the Ankh. Which is heavily associate with VTM. The Camirilla, Sabbat, and Anarchs have their own reductions of the ankh that they use, and on Christian and Edge’s pants we can see the ankh being used. While not every vampire in VTM uses these symbols many do to communicate that they are kindred without having to outright say it. Think of it almost like a hanky code of sorts!

6. Fire.

Fire in VTM lore. Is the biggest Killer for Vampires. If a flame gets just to close you’re done for. Final Death. What I like to see and use in my interpretation of VTM is Fire with power. The ability to have something so deadly close to you and not be worried what so ever is such a telling piece of story IMO.

Now how does Gangrel come down to the ring? He comes up surrounded by a ring of fire without worry on his face. In Fact he’s grinning. Laughing. He’s so close to something that could kill him a second time. And he’s not worried at all. It's such a Show off way of power to other vampires, and people who know how fire is with vampires.

7. Literally just this ad in a edition of the WWF magazine

What’s next to him is the first like guide/rule book for Vampire the Masquerade.

In conclusion. Gangrel is sooo much cooler if you know VTM lore and rules and it’s so cool as a fan of both to try and piece together what vampire stuff Gangrel does/ participates in. Like there’s so much cool Vampire lore and events that happen that’s so fun to think about!

I have my own personal ideas of Gangrel’s like. Lore or whatever that I would be willing to go into if people wanna hear it but. For now this is my Ted talk. :3

Sleepless in LazyTown covers the importance of sleeping at the right time. In this case, if you don't sleep for long enough, maybe Robbie Rotten will make a deal in a game of baseball that if he wins that a superhero leaves town.

The episode begins with.. Sportacus going to bed, thus resulting in a night-time title card. What a great way to start an episode, with the end of the day! Well, foreshadowing..

Everyone in the town is well asleep, excluding Pixel who is staying up late to play his new video game. Robbie is of course TRYING to sleep, but he fails to do so, and he starts.. crying? He is also wearing cushions as an alternative to noise cancelling headphones. Stefan Karl is hilarious.

Anyways, it's morning in the town and Pixel is still playing his video game. Robbie hasn't gotten any sleep, so he decides to sleep outside, using pieces of his.. fluffy couch as headphones. However, a fly starts bugging him and plays one of the most hilarious sequences in LazyTown history. After he falls off the couch, tries to catch the fly and gets stung in the butt, he starts fighting with the fly, using a bin lid as his shield and.. nothing as his sword. He finally manages to get that fly in the bin, and he can sleep now.. or can he? Stephanie and Ziggy are teaching Sportacus to play baseball (Sportacus hit a home run for Sportacular Spectacle Day 2 years before this episode, so either he wants to see how good she is at it or he forgot how to play.) and Robbie starts whining about the noise.

Sleeping outside and whining about the noise is like eating a burger then whining about the meat. So anyways, Pixel has joined their game of baseball and is so tired from playing games last night he forgets he's wearing a mask, and falls down after catching a ball.

Ziggy realizes he was up all night, then Sportacus talks about how sleep is one of his main sources of energy. However, Robbie is eavesdropping then comes to the idea of keeping him up (Sportacus really needs to start talking quieter) and goes back to his lair. He crafts the ball with a bunch of louds thing like a whistle (for some reason the final product comes out of a microwave..).

Anyways, after Pixel left the game of baseball, he came back with a gadget to keep his body moving which would NOT work in real life. Nickelodeon. Anyways, Robbie is now in his baseball clothes (why does a person who despises sport have a costume dedicated for one sports...??) with the noisy ball and is going to join their game. Meanwhile, Sportacus has thrown a ball and Pixel catches it without even knowing (blud fell asleep again). Robbie offers to hit now that Pixel is out, but Stephanie is surprised (he doesn't even MOVE very much!). Sportacus lets him play, and Robbie says that whoever hits it farest wins and that Sporty must leave town if he loses. Sportacus accepts, Robbie says to prepare for the game in two days, and gives him the noisy ball.

Everyone goes to bed that night, Pixel stays up to play games AGAIN, and Robbie's plan actually works. This genuinely shocked me. Sportacus stays up all night looking for that ball and ends up getting no sleep at all. Stephanie and Ziggy are already up and waiting to practice for baseball, but Sportacus is still sleeping and Stephanie sends a letter up to the airship.

Sportacus comes jumping over a wall to a bench where the two are waiting for him. Epic, right! He's ready for action! Nope, he falls back asleep until Ziggy yells his name. I don't get it. He doesn't have energy to play baseball but he has enough energy to jump over walls. That's what I hate about logic in this show. He tells them he's fine and Stephanie realises he didn't get enough sleep. He jumps onto the bench, yells for a pillow (the airship must have been surprised that he didn't ask for Sportscandy or a sports equipment) and then takes a nap. The two try multiple efforts to wake him up - drums, tamborines an alarm clock, yelling his name, and the saxophone. Nothing works and the two are totally bummed.

Stephanie says they need help and Ziggy suggests they call Sportacus. If that was supposed to be funny, it definitely was. Anyways, they go to Pixel's house, turn on all his TVs (that wakes him up) and ask him for help. Pixel accepts to help.. "right after a few more snores" then goes back to bed. I love this show. Robbie is spying to see the effects of the noisy ball, and Pixel's gadget is being used on Sportacus.

Stephanie tells Pixel to put it on, but he's asleep again (a rare moment where we see the angry side of Stephanie) and Ziggy presses buttons on his remote control and Sportacus (still asleep) starts moving around. (Why is there a button that makes someone do the splits..?)

Anyways, he wakes up and turns it on properly. However, Pixel amps it up a bit too high and Sportacus is inches away from running into a tree. (Why doesn't his crystal beep when he is in trouble like in season 2?) Stephanie makes Pixel promise to get some sleep. At 8:08 pm, Pixel is still playing games (my lord, I will take a strand of his hair and deep fry it, put some beef salt on it and chomp it up) until he realises his friends need him. Anyways, in the hair- I mean, airship, Sportacus tries to go to bed, but that noisy ball starts acting up. He is so pissed he jumps all the way from his bed to his sports equipment cupboard and kicks the button to open it. It is so unintentionally cool.

He finds the noisy ball and does something to it, but we don't know what. All we know is that he got rid of it or somehow figured how to turn it off, because when they perform Wake Up (undeniably one of the best songs ever) he gets up with a smile, and starts flipping and exercising.

Pixel feels so great that he wakes all his friends up himself. Once Sportacus is in town, they start talking about how good their sleeps were. Sportacus tells Pixel a secret - the secret is that what was keeping him up was the noisy ball. Pixel looks at the mark on it and realises the ball was made by Robbie himself.

Sportacus reveals his plan to Pixel (not the microphone, so it's a mysteryyyy to the audience..), and he goes to lie on a bench once the kids come. The kids except Pixel are panicking, and Robbie arrives to the field. Pixel and Stephanie are throwing the ball at each other while Robbie isn't ready, and those count as two strikes.

Robbie actually hits the ball, but only in front of his foot. That counts and now it is "Sportasnore"'s turn to hit. However, his plan is still going on, and he doesn't hit it on the first 2 strikes. However, on the final strike he hits it SO HARD that it lands in Robbie's lair, and Robbie loses the game.

They celebrate by singing and performing Bing Bang, and Stephanie changes clothes in between shots. Meanwhile, in Robbie's lair, he sulks on his chair, but then sits on a lump, that lump being his noisy ball. The camera zooms in on the clock, thus saying "This is gonna be a loonggg night for Robbie."

This episode is definetly one of the best. I didn't like it much because I didn't remember much, but I actually think this episode is amazing. With funny dialogue from every character, an epic song, this does not fail.

Short playlist for one of those long-feeling months. The description I put on the playlist was "aiming for a decent start" and that's the vibe. We got this! Chase and I have been talking about why Nick Lutsko's music always seems to hit for us, beyond him being very good at working skeletons into things and also using puppets, and it has come down to a specific realist-pessimism in tone that does not deny hope or optimism.

Biography:

Cherri Evelyn Hawthorne was born on September 18th, 1984 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents Michael and Lisa Hawthorne. In 1988, at age 4 her family moved to Valencia, Spain due to her father's work. Michael Hawthorne worked for Umbrella Europe under Team 6, along with researcher Luis Serra Navarro. Her mother worked as a nurse at the local hospital.

In 1994, when Hawthorne was 10 years old, she and her mother moved back to the USA, to Raccoon City, Colorado, while her father stayed in Spain. The reason for Raccoon specifically was Umbrella’s influence over the area. At the time she attended Raccoon Elementary School, and befriended Emma Kendo, acting as an older sister figure and best friend to her. Her mother found work as a nurse in the Spencer Memorial Hospital. Her father visited them for only a week or so at a time every few months, at the time working on the Nemesis Project.

On September 25th, when Raccoon Elementary School shut down due to the T-virus outbreak, she became isolated in her own home with her father. Lisa didn't return home from work that night, informing Michael through the phone that she is stuck in the hospital, tending to infected patients, both of them deciding to keep Cherri in the dark about it just in case.

Hawthorne stayed mostly in her bedroom with the blinds down as instructed by her father, occasionally leaving to play video games, until the events of September 29th, documented in the Raccoon City Tapes.

Post-Raccoon, she was sent to a military boarding school under close supervision of the government, her survival of the massacre being seen as extraordinary and worth looking into.

She was coerced into joining the same government program as Leon S. Kennedy at age 18 in 2002. It is mentioned that they vaguely knew each other for the two years before Ashley’s kidnapping, but Leon didn't recognize her from Raccoon City.

On November 2nd, 2004 Hawthorne was sent together with Kennedy to a remote village in Spain to investigate president Graham's daughter’s disappearance, due to both of them being the only ones not being investigated for cooperation with the kidnappers. Leon, because of his close relationship with the president and Cherri, because she was still under close supervision. The rest of the mission is (will be) documented in a Resident Evil 4 (Remake) spin-off fanfiction :3

Random facts and info:

the scar under her left eye is from the double garrador fight before the throne room

knows english, spanish tried to get Leon to teach her italian (failed miserably)

learns and picks up things very quickly

she works best with long-range weapons like sniper rifles

adopted an orange cat with Leon, thought it was a male, named him Vincent only to later notice the lack of balls (her name is still Vincent)

started cutting Leon's hair after getting together because hates going to the hairdresser

at some point between raccoon city and stratcom she started considering dropping out and becoming a merc sniper (teenage angst stuff)

definitely puts stickers on her motorola flip phone

can barely cook but Leon can barely cook too so when they cook together they become like gordon ramsey it's just math

HSJHDSDSHJDHS IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION-

I’m genuinely so happy you asked!! I love this stupid comic ( @hellonearth-comic ) and these characters so much, I can’t begin to describe just how much I can go on talking about these fuckers-

I’ll focus on a bit of general stuff and Marco and Milo because if I talked about all of my characters then this post would be too daMN LONG-

Under the cut because, just- wow.

General/Random stuff:

My inspiration for the comic came actually from a song: “Doom Crossing: Eternal Horizons” by The Chalkeaters. (...I wish I was joking. The song is a bop though.) The idea of a small “cute” character going on a bloody demon-killing rampage alongside their more intimidating (yet deep down chill) friend clicked with me and, well, this happened.

The main setting for the comic, New Hell City is basically an amalgamation of a lot of major cities. Now there’s a bunch of ravenous imps infesting the place. It didn’t always have the name New Hell City. It was renamed that after the “Spill of Hell”, where it was the first place to have recorded imp swarms emerge.

Somehow, Lower Imps are the only type of demon to have made their way to Earth in this event. (They are a more animalistic form of demon, yet still VERY deadly against humans.) More advanced and civilised demons have yet to have any major presence on Earth.

Marco and Milo’s family come from Hong Kong!

The “vibe” I have in mind for Hell/The Realm of Demons is a sort of twisted high-fantasy setting with steampunk elements. Demon culture is highly centred around power, war, and fights over territory. Basically a bunch of angry war lords duking it out for territory.

Milo:

I’ve mentioned this here and there, but Milo is a popular video game and art streamer known as “PinkClawxx”. They’re known for their absolutely batshit antics on camera that have created a huge meme culture around them. (And a bunch of meme/rage compilations.)

They also occasionally collaborate musically with their friend Ashe and his band Murder Rabbitz. (Typically as a guest singer, but they’ve written a song or two with Ashe.) They’ve made a song or two of their own as well.

They kinda have the energy of one of those scene kids that would post Gir gifs on MySpace in 2004. But with more unhinged and with more insatiable bloodlust.

Definitely grew up as the weird kid in class that got suspended for a week for biting someone. (Someone that deserved it, at least.)

The sheer amount of energy drinks that they consume on the regular is frankly alarming.

If you’re ever in a car with them behind the wheel, pick a god and pray. They’re not a bad driver- The exact opposite actually! They are an absolute demon behind the wheel who’s driving skills practically defy the laws of physics. Road laws are a mere suggestion, nothing is sacred. It’s a wonder they haven’t had their license revoked.

Milo doesn’t remember much about Marco before he disappeared. The only memory they seem to have of him is of one time he took them to a zoo when they were around 4 years old. It’s very fuzzy though.

...They may or may not have deeply repressed abandonment issues. Just putting it out there.

Their favorite games to play (wether on-stream or just in general) are weird horror games. They have a particular love for 2000s-2010s RPG Maker horror games. (Mad Father, IB, Yume Nikki, etc.)

An absolute autism/ADHD icon-

What drove Milo to their dream of starting “Demon B. Gone” was their family’s extensive history in demon hunting.

...And watching Ghost Busters one night and just going “HOLY SHIT-”

Marco:

Before he disappeared, Marco actually studied and worked in fashion design. And he was pretty damn good at it too! His artistic and sewing abilities are pretty impressive, even after all of his time looking for a way back home.

Back then, he used to live with his brother Lian and his wife (who was Marco’s best friend in college) since the three of them were very close. And when Milo came around, Marco wanted to help raise them.

While travelling among demons, he sort of became a nerd towards anything and everything magic related. I swear the second he gets his hands on a grimoire in Hell and Back, the dude absolutely nerds out.

Through his time in Hell, he’s always had a close on-and-off... “ally” that he could rely on. Somewhat. This “ally” was a notorious thief named Illa. The two had a sort of rivalry and partnership riddled with romantic tension that the both of them would rather die than admit to and the both of them caused a shit ton of chaos.

He’s picked up on a lot of demon vocabulary over his travels. He tends to use it even after he’s returned to Earth. It causes... some confusion when talking to strangers. But Milo finds it sick as FUCK-

This man is an absolute bi (ace) disaster, no denying it. Please help this dude.

Under his distant and intimidating shell, the man is actually a bit of a softie. He seems scary as all hell, but it just takes him a bit to warm up to people.

You know he likes you if he’s drawn you. After getting back into the habit of drawing, he tends to sketch and draw people he knows and cares about. So if he’s drawn you, then he considers you a friend.

Dude’s a fan of those really shitty sci fi/horror B-movies. Or just generally any “so bad it’s good” movie. They’re just the absolute funniest shit to him, apparently. (Milo seems to think the same.)

Oh god, the dude was totally a theatre kid back in high school. The guy was absolutely notorious in his school’s plays and musicals. He is absolutely embarrassed of this and will take it to his GRAVE.

...Man has a pretty nice singing voice though.

With how long he’s been gone, the dude is an absolute disaster with new technology. He operates a smartphone with the grace of a 70 year old grandma, and every second is absolutely fucking hysterical to Milo.

Kind of buck wild to wake up and see someone on the F/GO subreddit go on a whole tirade about...... a text let’s play of Fate/stay night from *2009-2010*. Because the LPer regularly dunks on the game’s misogyny problem, you see, and that’s clearly The Literal Worst and could make people biased against the game!

Which, first of all, yeah. We all know at this point that the bulk of Shirou’s dumbass sexist comments are him putting his foot in his mouth and grasping at straws to try and get Saber to stop fighting because he can’t articulate that her fighting sets off his PTSD. The problem is there’s a difference between somebody *here* talking about it, given that most of us have a good understanding of feminisms and LGBTQIA+isms, and someone on *reddit* saying it, where the F/GO subreddit in particular has a bad case of the Holy Shit So Much Bigotry What Is Wrong With You People. OP is using the thread to shut down critiques of Nasu’s very real issues with misogyny and At Best doesn’t understand that you can understand why Shirou the character does the thing while still criticizing 2004-era Nasu for jumping to “uhhhhh he should use sexism to make excuses for why Saber can’t fight!!!” (something that *even Nasu himself* has called his writing out on). And given that this is a subreddit where I’ve run into several ISSUES of shit like really bad racism, I don’t trust that OP just doesn’t understand it!

But also like. The baffling thing is what I mentioned earlier, that what OP’s ragging on is *a text-Let’s Play thread Something Awful from 2009-2010*. Something which the big red banner on the LP’s index makes loud and clear. It might be commonly USED as a text archive of the Mirrormoon translation of the VN, given how the VN is a pain to obtain and get running, but “being a text archive of the Mirrormoon translation” was never the primary goal - the thread is literally just a guy on Something Awful’s let’s play forums showing the game off to that particular community, with them making funny commentary as they go because that’s just what you do in Let’s Plays and group playthroughs. Like, imagine if you were streaming a video game with your buddies and then a decade later some jackass is barging down your door demanding to know why you didn’t record a perfect no-commentary archival of the game because your joked “could influence the audience”. Like, what the FUCK is that?????????

Also dude..... dude you can just scroll past the LPer’s commentary if you’re that annoyed by it. It’s in all-italics and very obviously different from the rest of the text. You’re gonna figure out eventually while reading that the italics text is the LPer fucking around. I know you probably have zero reading comprehension given that you missed that the target of your ire is a forum let’s play thread that ran from 2009 to 2010, but like, come on buddy.

Fight Night Round 4 suffered slightly in the fact that rarely did your fighter provide you with a one knockdown win, no matter how devastating the beating laid upon the opponent prior to the fall. Also added to the fray are one-punch knockouts, something boxing has, but Fight Night lacked. How realistic? It has been given an M rating based on the brutality promised. This realistic element is what EA Sports hopes to capture in its upcoming release Fight Night Champion.Ĭhampion hopes to fix some of the oversights of Round 4, as well as providing a much more realistic and dark portrayal of the realistic possibilities in boxing, and not necessarily in the ring. While the game wasn't overtly cartoony or unrealistic, Fight Night Round 4 left behind some of the in-game fight damage mechanics its predecessors had brought to the forefront. Fight Night Round 3 had very little, and while Round 4 had more, it still left a bit to be desired for those seeking a real boxing experience. Combine a great fight engine, an interesting (read: unresponsive but tolerable) stick control system and the largest roster to date, and what's left that's still needed? EA would also run product placement server updates as recently as September, where your fighters could appear on Friday Night Fights sponsored by the new Resident Evil movie. Some overpriced ($5 for a ruleset?,) but many free, and all fun. EA did well to support the product, providing numerous DLC packs along the way. It has been a fairly lonely 18 months at the top for Fight Night Round 4, a game that showed some of the highs and lows of boxing. Ever since Knockout Kings made way for Fight Night in 2004, every game has been better than the last, with all types of enhancements along the way.
