I know you said you're not doing time travel-related episodes in the SLau, but I was wondering where they'd fit into the timeline? Like, which seasons/which episode numbers they'd be using your organisation? Purely out of curiosity, since you're not doing the rabbit miraculous/time travel, and there's no pressure for an answer, just wondering where you'd place them in the timeline

Built from the ground up for PlayStation 5 console, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will unlock the power of the console with better visuals, faster web swinging (and web wings!), 3D Audio*, and near-instant character switching. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players will get to experience Marvel’s New York as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. As you saw in the PlayStation Showcase last month—the main storyline of the game will have you take control of both Spider-Men at different points of the campaign. In the open world, you will be able to switch nearly instantly between them as you explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world exclusive to each of them.
As you can see from our box art, Peter and Miles are both key protagonists in our story. The iconic red background returns, but darkness surrounds as fan-favorite villains like Venom, Lizard, and Kraven threaten them and Marvel’s New York. You will also notice that each character’s arm represents their new abilities: Peter with the symbiote, Miles with his evolved bioelectric Venom powers.

Firebreathonary Stats 2023
Happy (last) Firebreather Friday of 2023!
Same procedure as every year: The year comes to a close we’ve put together lots of numbers and figures representing the Dictionary’s Growth and General Entry Activity for You. If You have any Questions left unanswered at the end of this Post, don’t hesitate to ask us, we’re only too happy to answer them. For this year, we decided to switch the order to have the newest table on top, so you don't have to scroll as far to see the newest numbers. And now: Enjoy the Read!
Tumblr media
2023 was a very active year with 39 new entries in total; it even saw the addition of a whole new category! This new category, the Platzcabulary, started strong with indragonable 14 entries and thus easily became the most active category, followed closely by Words with 12 entries. April was the most active month with eight (8) entries in total.
Tumblr media
2022 has been quite the active year as well, with a total count of 36 new entries. The activity was mostly in the beginning of the year, with March being the most active month (10 entries). Words was the most active category, with 20 entries being added in it.
Tumblr media
2021 was only almost half as active as 2022, with only 16 new entries in total. Words was by far the most active category (12), with August (5) as its most active month.
Tumblr media
2020 has been the least active year so far, with only 9 entries in total. Names was once again the most active category (6), and March (5) and April (5) the most - and only - active months.
Tumblr media
2019 was a little more active than its successor, with 12 entries in total. Most active category was, Names (10), most active months were April (3), June (3) and August (3).
Tumblr media
2018 was the third most active year (37) in Firebreathonary history, with Names (21) again being the most active category, and April (6) and October (6) as most active months.
Tumblr media
2017 was the second most active year (47) in the Dictionary’s history. Names was by far the most active category (25), June (9) and July (8) the most active months.
Tumblr media
2016 has seen a bit of a downer, with only a few entries coming in at the beginning (April, 8) and the end (December, 2) of the year. The only active categories were Words (5), Expressions (5) and Names (6), all about equally active.
Tumblr media
2015 is the year the Dictionary was officially started, hence it was easily the most active year (62) in Firebreathonary history. Category wise, Words (25) and Names (20) were most active. Month wise, June (12) was most active, as well as anything that entered the Dictionary before fully dated entries (14 undated entries).
Tumblr media
2014 has seen only one ‘real’ entry, even though there are other entries which have a first occurrence of usage that year.
…………………………………………………………….
Below you cab see is the graphic representation of the tables above. Each year has a color matching the one in the table, so they are easier to find. It should be easy to see which months and categories have been the most active in which year, as well as the total activity of each month in each year. The legend at the bottom shows which color belongs to which year and how many columns there are for each year. The numbers on the columns show the exact value of each column. Each column stands for one month of one year. A new graph was started in 2021 simply because Google Sheets seems to only allow a certain number of data in a table to be turned into a graph. Thus, as the Dictionary keeps growing, the yearly activity will be added to the new graph.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the graphic below you cab see a count of all entries of all the years added together. Sub-Entries means, for example, each name for a band member, like the entry for Daniel Platzman has 12 Sub-Entries, so it can be counted as either one big entry or 12 separate entries. Some of these categories do not actually have sub-entries yet, like Emojis and Squads, but no one said that could not change over time.
Tumblr media
And that’s it for this year’s Firebreathonary Stats!
We hope You had a good Year 2023 and that 2024 will be even better for You. Thanks a Billion for making this year such a good one for the Firebreathonary and we hope to see you all around in the next one as well!
Keep Spreading the Words!

Tumblr media
Floor Jansen, best known as the lead vocalist of the Finnish symphonic metal band NIGHTWISH, will release a new solo single, "Invincible", on Friday, January 13. She says: "This song tackles a sensitive and important subject."
"Invincible" is the fourth single from Floor's upcoming debut solo album, "Paragon", which will arrive on March 24. The LP showcases the Dutch-born singer's impressive vocal range and powerful voice on a diverse collection of pop-infused tracks and emotional ballads influenced by the sounds of her career.
"Paragon" includes the following tracks:
01. My Paragon 02. Daydream 03. Invincible 04. Hope 05. Come Full Circle 06. Storm 07. Me Without You 08. The Calm 09. Armoured Wings 10. Fire
Jansen said: "To renew yourself and take leaps into the unknown makes you grow. To age is a gift not everyone gets. I am a fortunate woman who got to make an album I never knew I could make. One that even defines me, where I am on my path. I have reached my PARAGON! I am so proud of this work! And grateful for all the amazing people in this beautiful life that helped me get here!"
With its mix of influences and powerful vocal performances, "Paragon" is an album that will appeal to fans of pop music and metal alike. It's the perfect addition to any music collection, and a must-have for fans of Floor Jansen and NIGHTWISH.
"Paragon" will be released digitally and physically on CD, vinyl, and a limited-edition deluxe box set. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms and at music retailers worldwide.
Following the release, Jansen will embark on a tour of The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria in April and May of 2023.
Floor has already released three singles from "Paragon": "Me Without You", "Storm" and "Fire".
As part of NIGHTWISH, Jansen has landed two number one albums in Finland, and Top Five albums in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
Born in the Netherlands, Jansen joined her first band, one of the world's first symphonic metal bands, AFTER FOREVER, when she was only 16 years old. The group went on to release five albums from 2000 to 2007, before they broke up in 2009.
Jansen's next band, REVAMP, released two albums in 2010 and 2013, before she joined NIGHTWISH as a full-time member. NIGHTWISH's first album with Jansen as the lead singer was 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", which landed in Top 10s around the world. This was followed by 2020's "Human. :II: Nature." , which was also an international success.
Jansen has toured extensively with the band and appeared on three of NIGHTWISH's live albums "Showtime, Storytime", "Vehicle Of Spirit" and "Decades: Live In Buenos Aires".
In 2019, Jansen participated in the popular Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers" where she scored a big hit with "Phantom Of The Opera" together with Henk Poort. She was recognized with a Dutch Popprijs award — a prestigious accolade for artists that has made important contributions to Dutch music. In the same year, her first solo tour sold out in less than 24 hours.
Jansen performed live with NIGHTWISH for the first time on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon. Jansen officially joined NIGHTWISH in 2013.

Twitter owner Elon Musk’s Friday night revelations on the company's suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story has prompted another reckoning for outlets who dismissed the story at the time.
Media watchdogs don’t think liberal journalists have learned their lesson about the episode, though.
Musk outsourced his findings about what led the tech giant to suppress the Hunter Biden story in the final weeks of the 2020 presidential election to journalist Matt Taibbi, who published a lengthy thread about what had transpired behind the scenes at Twitter. Taibbi put a spotlight on the behind-the-scenes events that resulted in Twitter kiboshing the New York Post story that first revealed scandalous contents of Hunter Biden's laptop. The "Twitter Files," revealed that then-candidate Joe Biden’s team allegedly asked Twitter to remove unflattering links about his son, which here promptly "handled" by the social media platform.
Some mainstream journalists have continued to defend the initial handling of the story in 2020.
NBC, ABC, CBS CALLED OUT FOR SILENCE ON ELON MUSK'S 'TWITTER FILES' RELEASE: 'THEY'RE FAILING AMERICANS'
A Washington Post insider pointed to Rudy Giuliani, the president's attorney at the time, as a pusher of the story for a reason to initially handle with extreme care.
"CIA types were saying it looked like Russian disinformation—which after 2016 sounded like a plausible concern. So, egg on our faces? No," they told Fox News Digital. "Solid reasons to be very, very wary and skeptical. Were we wrong? Possibly-- but we couldn't know that at the time."
The Washington Post eventually authenticated thousands of emails from the laptop last March, roughly 16 months after Twitter censored the New York Post’s report – but it first published multiple opinion pieces urging readers to dismiss the controversy altogether. Its fact-checker, in a piece that was later updated, referred to the laptop as "alleged." The paper's editorial board wrote in April though that the story's developments, following its own authentication of the laptop, represented a "reckoning" for the media.
ELON MUSK SAYS ‘MORE SMOKING GUNS’ ARE ON THE WAY FROM TWITTER AFTER HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP EXPOSE
Much like the Washington Post, network news outlets largely dismissed or downplayed the story at the outset. Over an 18-month period, ABC, CBS, and NBC spent only 25 minutes discussing the story, and when they were, they often called it Russian "misinformation."
A network news insider also noted the timing of the initial story as a reason to be cautious but acknowledged politics may have come into play, guessing that similar revelations from a laptop belonging to Donald Trump Jr. would prompt a far different response.
"I tend to think that right before an election, especially, you need to be really cautious with late breaking revelations, October surprise type stuff," they told Fox News Digital. "Obviously, I think it was a mistake for Twitter to suppress the New York Post story… And their reason obviously turned out to be entirely wrong."
"I think that news organizations and reporters were obviously in hindsight too quick to believe that the laptop was a product of Russian misinformation, disinformation," they added. "That was kind of an assumption that was taken by a hell of a lot of reporters and news organizations... If it had been Don Jr's laptop, it's not too much of a stretch to think it would have been handled differently."
Another network insider dismissed the Hunter Biden saga as "bizarre" and a sideshow fetish of conservatives, saying it paled in comparison to other media scandals like the mass acceptance of the error-ridden Christopher Steele dossier, or what they described as overplaying by right-leaning media of the Russia probe revelations of the John Durham investigation.
"I don't know what network should be feeling bad, not covering this story we don't really understand and sounded suspicious even when it came out," they said, blaming Twitter for putting its thumb on the scale.
USERS CELEBRATE ELON MUSK REVEALING TWITTER ‘INTERFERED IN ELECTIONS': ‘NEW TWITTER ROCKS’
While the original New York Post story was censored by Twitter, journalists rushed to social media to dismiss or condemn Musk and Taibbi’s Friday night revelations.
Many criticized Taibbi for even reporting on the story, and the Washington Post framed the news as Musk igniting divisions and failing to bend "the will" of Democrats.
The New York Times ignored the story for over 24 hours until a single article headlined, "Elon Musk, Matt Taibbi, and a Very Modern Media Maelstrom," was published Sunday night. The article didn’t lead with the news, but instead put a spotlight on the atypical fashion the news was delivered.
MSNBC devoted only three minutes of coverage and CNN covered it for 10 minutes over the weekend. CNN’s online coverage was criticized by journalist Glenn Greenwald, who said it "reads like the rantings of any #Resistance maniac."
The major Sunday shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN devoted a total of seven seconds to the story, prompting Musk himself to sound off on the overwhelming silence.
"I think those people should be looking in the mirror and wondering why they were deceptive. Why did they deceive the American public?," Musk asked. "And instead of trying to redirect blame to Matt Taibbi, they should be accepting some responsibility themselves for not being truthful to the American public."
DePauw University journalism professor Jeffrey McCall believes the lack of interest, and limited news coverage, exhibited by the establishment media in response to Musk's Twitter revelations is "disappointing, but hardly surprising."
"This muted response is yet another indication that the mainstream media are not genuinely interested in the flow of actual news, but instead are interested in the political shaping of the public sphere," McCall told Fox News Digital.
MEDIA'S HUNTER BIDEN COLLUSION: 'TWITTER FILES' DUMP HAS THEM ON DEFENSE, ATTACKING THE MESSENGER
McCall feels the aftermath of Musk’s bombshell revelations would be an "appropriate time for big media to do some soul-searching" and publicly acknowledge the "clumsy way" it handled the laptop story from the beginning.
"To do such, however, would require some honest self-assessment, which big media just can't bring itself to do," McCall said, adding that many media outlets would rather "accept cratering public trust" than admit fault.
"Mainstream outlets surely don't even now believe they actually bungled the laptop story, because stifling that story ultimately served their political agenda. Activist media surely have no regrets in this matter, and they aren't going to acknowledge that this journalism of omission did a disservice to the citizenry," McCall said. "This sorry incident again shows that the noble mission of journalism has been bastardized by the establishment media."
Fourth Watch editor Steve Krakauer, author of the upcoming book "Uncovered" that will aim to highlight problems with modern media, feels Musk is "overselling it a bit," but the reaction from "anti-speech activists in the press" was absurd. He called out journalists who claimed Taibbi was doing public relations for Musk, scolded "CNN’s media hack" Oliver Darcy for saying an article dismissing the Twitter Files were "spot on" and blasted left-wing NBC News reporter Ben Collins, who spent much of Friday night fuming on Twitter over Taibbi's thread, as "perhaps the most introspection-free" of all the pundits.
"The Acela Media in New York and D.C. is more detached than ever to the people of this country. And Twitter is a little bubble that puts that detachment on full display. We get to see the active disinterest in correcting the record when it comes to major missteps like the Hunter Biden laptop story. And we get to see the coziness with power among the press and other elite consensus narrative crafters," Krakauer wrote.
"In another era, this would be the kind of story that would excite the entire journalism world," Krakauer continued. "Now they're part of the elite censorship collusion racket themselves, along with government forces, the intel agencies, and tech companies."
Cornell Law School professor and media critic William A. Jacobson believes the mainstream media did learn a lesson from the "unjustified shutdown of the Biden family influence peddling scheme" exposed through the laptop.
"Unfortunately, in all likelihood the wrong lesson was learned, which is that concerted action by mainstream platforms and media outlets to help a Democrat candidate can work," Jacobson told Fox News Digital. "I doubt there are any regrets or that future such action will be deterred."

Iran closes agreement with Russia to buy Su-35 fighters
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/11/2023 - 11:15 PM in Military
Iran has reached an agreement to buy advanced Su-35 fighter jets from Russia, Iranian state media said on Saturday, expanding a relationship that saw Iran-made drones used in Russia's war against Ukraine.
"The Sukhoi-35 fighter planes are technically acceptable to Iran and Iran has finalized a contract for their purchase," said the IRIB broadcaster, citing Iran's mission to the United Nations in New York.
The report did not bring any Russian confirmation of the agreement, the details of which were not disclosed. The mission said that Iran also asked about the purchase of military aircraft from several other unidentified countries, IRIB reported.

“Russia announced that it was ready to sell them” after the end, in October 2020, of the restrictions on the purchase of conventional weapons by Iran under UN Resolution 2231, said the statement released on Friday by the official IRNA news agency.
Tumblr media
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran last July, emphasizing closer ties in the face of Western pressure on the war in Ukraine.
The reported agreement could include the 24 Su-35SEs once destined for Egypt before the threat of U.S. sanctions and an offer of F-15s.
Tumblr media
Kiev accuses Tehran of providing Moscow with "kamikaze" Shahed-136 drones used in attacks on civilian targets since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year - an allegation that the Islamic republic denies.
Tumblr media
Iran has acknowledged the sending of drones to Russia, but says they were sent before the Moscow invasion of Ukraine last year. Moscow denies that its forces use Iranian-made drones in Ukraine, although many have been shot down and recovered there.
The United States expressed concern about the growing military cooperation between Iran and Russia, with Pentagon spokesman John Kirby warning in December that Russia would probably sell its fighters to Iran.
Kirby stated that Iranian pilots were learning to fly Sukhoi warplanes in Russia and that Tehran could receive the aircraft next year, which would “significantly strengthen Iran’s air force in relation to its regional neighbors.”
Iran's air force has only a few dozen attack aircraft: Russian jets, as well as old U.S. F-4 and F-14 models acquired before the Iranian revolution of 1979.
In 2018, Iran said it had started production of the locally designed Kowsar fighter for use in its air force. The jet is a copy of an F-5 first produced in the United States in the 1960s.

the beautiful person's journal - #7: the pre-2016 side shows
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"[In the Cartoon Network series Chowder] The No-fruit looks like a block of tofu with two green leaves on top. Once a leaf is plucked off of the No-fruit, it rapidly transforms into a wide variety of different fruits, and will halt when the fruit is struck with a blunt object."
you might be wondering why i'm talking about chowder. well, the concept of the no-fruit ties into what i'm discussing today!
so once upon a time in caddicarus history, the caddicarus show wasn't the only show offered on the channel.
before the initial side-show culling of 2016, there was a whole group of other shows on the channel that would circulate along with the caddicarus show on sundays. you never knew just what you'd get on sunday; you could get a caddicarus episode, a tinker time, or a current quickie. this is why i called the 2012-16 schedule the "no-fruit" schedule. caddy would pluck a metaphorical leaf off his channel every week, and he'd have to strike it with a bat to see what he'd be releasing that sunday.
a couple of these side shows only lasted an episode or two, others went on for years. a couple were actually launched after the 2016 rebrand and lasted just before the great retooling of 2020. some actually had some elements that were integrated into the caddicarus show!
in order, these side shows were top 10's/20's, today's special, caddy's retrospectives, current quickies, tinker time, hands-on preview (H.O.P), drive thru reviews, film fridays/cinemaggots, and the caddy show. but for this entry, we're gonna be discussing the side shows up to drive thru reviews. in the next entry, we'll talk about the side shows that came along after the 2016 rebranding. there's only a few, but i can talk about those a little bit more in-depth.
there's another side show that came out between DTR and film fridays, but i'll get to that one in another entry someday, trust me...
top 10's/20's! (july 15th 2012 - october 30th 2016 as a separate series)
pretty self-explanatory - they're top 10/20 lists! even though they use the caddicarus show's intro, this was treated as a separate series until 2017. before the 2016 rebrand, list videos used a different background for the thumbnails than the one used for the caddicarus show...
Tumblr media
by 2016, the show began using the caddicarus show's thumbnail background, but it was still considered a separate series.
that was until january 2017, when in the middle of the winter break between cadvent and the season 8 premiere, all of the list videos - except for the E3 2014 top 20 - were moved into the caddicarus show playlist. the block that came out of hiding from 2013 and the two mr. youtube episodes were also no longer considered canon caddicarus episodes, and those along with the E3 top 20 were moved to the "other rubbish" playlist.
after the list videos were integrated, this brought the caddicarus show's episode count to 100...which also meant that the bubsy 3D episode was no longer the 50th episode. and i spent weeks waiting for that 50th episode...
from seasons 8 to 10, top 10 lists just became "ten lists" - lists of things that weren't in any particular order. in 2019, when most caddicarus episode titles were changed to suit the algorithm, these ten lists were changed to say "top 10", even though they technically weren't top 10 lists.
my favorite list episodes were top 10 things in video games that scared me as a kid and 10 traumatic kids' TV moments.
today's special! (october 14th, 2012)
Tumblr media
this one only lasted a single episode - a 22-minute video on resident evil 6. i don't remember specifically where caddy talked about this video's production; unfortunately, it could've been in a now-deleted jradgex podcast. but he's talked before about how strenuous the video was to make. at this point, caddy would've only been making videos for a year, and he'd only been making gaming videos for 5 months. this was one of the first time crunches he's had for a video, as he had to get this game finished as fast as possible and edit a whole video on it. it took a toll on him and it resulted in a video that expressed an opinion he didn't really have time to fully form - he'd go on to dislike resi 6 later on.
caddy's retrospectives! (november 19th, 2012 - december 6th, 2015)
Tumblr media
this show centered around caddy sporting a white checkered shirt and delving into the first three games of a franchise in order to see if they still hold up.
this was the series that introduced caddy's buzzcut that he wore from june 2014 to september 2015! initially meant for a single gag in part 3 of the max payne retrospective, he kept wearing this buzzcut because he realized how much he hated having long hair. that sure didn't age well, didn't it?
a whole retrospective would be a 3-part video, with the three videos being uploaded over three sundays. in 2015, a couple retrospectives were uploaded through 5-6 weeks, as caddy would produce an easter egg hunting video for didyouknowgaming in between parts. this was pretty controversial in the fanbase but i'll touch on this in another entry.
there were 8 franchises explored in total - crash bandicoot, metal gear solid, tekken, oddworld, max payne, sly cooper, gex, and uncharted. after this show was canceled in 2016, he redid the crash bandicoot and oddworld retrospectives in the style of the caddicarus show. well, 2/3 of the oddworld retrospective anyway. i think caddy's gonna save MGS for a special occasion. the spyro video was originally going to be in the form of a retrospective, but after the 2016 rebrand that was changed to be a long video covering the PS1 trilogy. as time went on, that turned into literally every mainline spyro game.
oh, and this show is also where "FUN FACT, DID YOU KNOW-" and "cooper is a swear word" originated from.
current quickies! (december 8th, 2012 - october 26th, 2016)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ah, yes - the one original pre-2016 side show that survived the 2016 side show culling. well, at least for a year.
in this series, a london cockney sex pistols fan named quick j. hoarsethroat would talk extremely fast about a brand-new video game. it took a couple of episodes for the show to find its footing; the first episode was two minutes of caddy reviewing the game entirely in his quick j. voice, at a normal speed, and dropping (censored) f-bombs every second. the second episode had the proper review part in caddy's normal voice, but he spoke at a regular speed. the third episode began the show's normal format in which quick j. would give some background, then take a deep breath, then the proper review would start with caddy giving a rapid-fire review in his normal voice while holiday for strings plays in the background.
oh, yeah...this is where cyoar came from!
Tumblr media
well, it was actually introduced in "how to pull birds" buuuut most fans know it from current quickies. lol.
in 2016, after the first major rebrand, it became weekly and was uploaded every wednesday as a way for caddy to cover modern games after getting rid of the other shows. elements of tinker time and drive-thru reviews were brought in to unify the modern game review shows into one entity.
other than the 2010's game reviewer gimmicks and the character of quick, there really wasn't anything significant about this show. i guess i can add that the gone home review was controversial and that the 2016 thumbnail art was even MORE of an abysmal crime on graphic design than the TCS thumbnails...
Tumblr media
i did better graphic design on my youtube channel when i was fourteen.
in 2017, caddy began to slowly phase out gimmicks on his channel, starting with current quickies. it was replaced by a variety show called the caddy show, the style of which could be compared to today's special. it's considered a reboot of it by some fans. quick j. hoarsethroat appeared in the caddicarus show a few times, most notably in the beginning of the aladdin episode.
oh yeah - i found the original tweet where quick j's name was coined! caddy wanted fans to come up with a name for the current quickies character and this user came up with the name we know today. this name was first used in the top 10 games of 2014 episode in january 2015.
Tumblr media
TINKER TIIIIIIME!!!! (june 16th, 2013 - january 24th, 2016)
Tumblr media
along with current quickies, tinker time was met with a lot of groaaaannnss on a sunday. well, ok - that was during the period in 2015 with sporadic caddicarus episodes.
this was a laid-back show that focused on any random game caddy had been "tinkering around" with. there wasn't really a gimmick for this show other than the ironically bombastic intro, the fake TV beside caddy, and the rating scale - unbelievable, commendable, acceptable, disreputable, and flammable. again, there was nothing really significant about this show other than a few events. caddy did a couple of sponsored "indie spotlight" videos for the playstation store in this series. there was the divisive journey review. oh, and that "stanley parable incident" mentioned in the zoo race caddicarus episode? that referred to a tinker time episode on the stanley parable that was formerly his most controversial video. basically he talked about the game for 30 seconds, and the rest of the video was a scene from the game that was replayed over and over for like 10 minutes. this was because caddy wanted the audience to see the game for themselves. obviously, a lot of fans didn't take kindly to this. but going to caddicarus for serious in-depth reviews is like going to taco bell expecting fine authentic mexican cuisine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the lone privated episode of this series was the most unique one, in which caddy went to the USA (including my city!!!) and reviewed some PS vita trigger grips. this was one of the videos that didn't make the cut for the 9/23/22 private video unlistings.
hands-on preview! (september 28th, 2014)
Tumblr media
oh, what fun....for two episodes! that are now privated! and one of which is completely lost! except for the intro which is how i was able to make this gif!
in 2014, caddy interviewed lorne lanning in a video that's now privated for some reason (but i found it!). later that year, he went to a preview event for alien: isolation. after this preview, he made a video about it and created yet another new show - hands-on preview, or H.O.P for short. the lorne lanning interview was then renamed under the HOP banner. and unfortunately, even though i found the oddworld episode, the alien: isolation episode is completely lost. the only remnant of the officially-named series is the intro - and thank god that was saved because that was the most memorable part of it.
drive thru reviews! (february 20th, 2014 - february 3rd, 2016)
Tumblr media
this was a show where caddy talked super fast about a brand new game release- wait a minute, have we talked about this before?
yes, this was another rapid-fire modern game review series. but this time, caddy wasn't playing a character, he wore a bathrobe instead of a scarf, hat and sex pistols shirt and the reviews were much shorter. it ran concurrently with current quickies so you can only imagine the confusion this caused. conceptually, it was literally the same damn show. this show along with current quickies was pretty controversial in 2015 due to them being a lot more common than caddicarus episodes.
this show started on the second channel in february 2014, but in february 2015 it was introduced to the main channel as the first wednesday show - the first time in caddicarus history that we saw more than one upload a week. unfortunately, i was only able to salvage 3 of the 9 videos that were uploaded on the second channel; in 2019, caddy privated the second channel episodes along with the drum covers for some god-forsaken reason. anyway, here's a link to a google doc with some lost second channel vids i found!
and here's something funny. i literally found the thumbnail/title card of this series by searching up "drive thru sign" and scrolling down a bit. only the highest quality graphic design on pre-2018 caddicarus XD
Tumblr media
so yeah! that was a run-down of the pre-2016 side shows.
of all these shows i discussed, caddy's retrospectives was the most beloved, as they were longer videos that were more in line with the mainline caddicarus show episodes, just without the slaughter/salvage format. it was mourned for a long time after its cancellation. current quickies, tinker time, and drive-thru reviews weren't mourned nearly as much, but they still had their fans. all...10 of them.
this really shows you the sheer number of shows that the channel had pre-2016 lmao. and some of those shows were just the same damn thing with different steps.
it's so crazy to think about how these gimmicky formulaic shows were on the same channel as long dennis and spons, the sentient talking kite with a face, fingers and shoes™. if you were a fan at the time, left in the late 2010's, and came back in the 20's like me, the culture shock whiplash was unlike any other. i seriously wonder how newer fans look at these older videos. to them it's just weird 2010's gimmicky game reviewer videos, but to us...
Tumblr media
...or maybe this, depending on your viewpoint.
Tumblr media
anyways, be grateful for what you have, 2020's lumpies and germs. we never had graphic design this beautiful or quality this consistent.

WOLF PACK WEEKEND RECAP: APRIL 15th, 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT—The Hartford Wolf Pack have punched their ticket to the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. The club is heading back to the dance following back-to-back victories over the weekend, its first consecutive victories since early March. With three games to go in the season, the Wolf Pack will look to lock up seeding and set the tone for a showdown with one of three division rivals. Friday, April 12th, 2024, Vs. Springfield Thunderbirds (5-3 W): The Wolf Pack snapped a six-game overall losing streak, five-game skid at home, and four-game losing streak head-to-head against the Thunderbirds on Friday night. The victory also officially clinched the Wolf Pack a spot in the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. Riley Nash and Mathias Laferriere traded goals in the opening period before the Pack took control of the game in the middle stanza. Alex BelzBelzile'sg-range shot beat Colten Ellis at 6:41 of the second period, giving the Pack a lead they never lost. Jake Leschyshyn tipped in a Nikolas Brouillard shot at 10:30 to make it a 3-1 game; then Blake Hillman made it 4-1 with a shot through traffic at 18:18. The T-Birds struck twice in 81 seconds to make it a 4-3 tilt early in the third period. Mikhail Abramov converted on a breakaway at 6:34, then Adam Gaudette took an excellent feed from Joseph Duszak and potted his 41st goal of the season at 7:55. The Pack killed the clock in the final minutes with suffocating defensive play and plenty of offensive zone time. Louis Domingue then sealed the deal at 19:37, hitting an empty net for his first career goal and the second goalie goal in Wolf Pack history. Sunday, April 14th, 2024, Vs. Charlotte Checkers (5-2 W): For the first time since January 10th, 2020, the Wolf Pack claimed a regulation victory on home ice against the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Checkers overall and a six-game skid on home ice dating back to October 29th, 2022. Casey Fitzgerald opened the scoring for the visitors just 43 seconds into the second period, scoring on a beautiful individual effort. The goal, FitzFitzgerald'srth of the season, marked the seventh time in eight meetings that the Checkers struck first. The Pack responded with a powerplay goal at 9:06, as Adam Sýkora fired a shot into traffic that eluded Spencer Knight. The goal was SýkoSýkora'shth of the season and first in ten games. Brett Berard then snapped a shot by Knight from the left-wing circle on a five-minute powerplay at 14:33, giving the Pack their first lead in six games over the Checkers. Initially, the call on the ice was no goal. At the next stoppage, the officials reviewed the play and determined that the puck hit the back bar and rocketed out, giving Berard his team-leading 25th goal. Adam Edström scored the game-winning goal at 16:28, converting a shorthanded breakaway for his tenth goal. Edström waited out Knight before lifting a backhander over the goaltender for the club's tenth shorthanded goal of the season. Jaroslav Chmelař made it 4-1 3:55 into the third period, scoring his first professional goal on a breakaway. At 6:36, Berard found Brennan Othmann at the back door, making it 5-1. After a nifty feed from Berard, Othmann tapped his 19th goal of the season into the net. Rasmus Asplund scored at 13:13 to make it a 5-2 game, but two late penalty kills by the Wolf Pack cemented the clubclub'sst victory against the Checkers this season. Quick Hits: - DomiDomingue'sl on Friday night was the fourth goal scored by an AHL goalie this season. He joins LavaLaval'sauss Mann, Wilkes-Barre/ScraScranton'sx Nedeljkovic, and RockRockford'sson Stauber. - His goal was the second goalie goal in Wolf Pack history. AHL Hall of Famer J.F. Labbe accomplished the feat on February 5th, 2000. - For the first time since the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns, the Wolf Pack have clinched a Calder Cup Playoff berth in back-to-back seasons. - On Sunday, forward Kalle Väisänen became the seventh player to make his AHL debut with the Wolf Pack this season. - Thanks to his goal on Sunday, Berard sits second in the AHL in goals by a rookie with 25. NIGHTWISH's FLOOR JANSEN: 'I Am Cancer Free'
Tumblr media
NIGHTWISH's Floor Jansen has revealed that she is "cancer free" after recently undergoing surgery to have a tumor removed following a breast cancer diagnosis.
Earlier today (Friday, November 18),Floor took to her social media to write: "Great news! I am cancer free. The surgery took everything cancerous out and it hasn't spread! I'll get local radiation therapy in February to make sure everything stays out.
"I'm getting my energy back after the surgery and feel a huge relief to know it was successful! I'm not back to a 100% but I have no doubt the shows will give me the power push I need to rock with all of you on the upcoming European tour.
"Thank you for your amazing support and well wishes".
Jansen revealed her diagnosis last month. At the time, she wrote: "A letter to you, Life comes in waves, with ups and downs. I have had the joy of riding many highs, and I have shared these with you through social media and the many many shows worldwide throughout the many years of my career.
"But now a new wave hit me. Not a good one. I have breast cancer. It was diagnosed a little over 2 weeks ago and I will have surgery tomorrow to remove the tumor. My prognosis is very good!!! It seems to be a non-aggressive cancer, which seems to not have spread. I will keep my breast. And I will be cancer free after this surgery, plus a local radiation treatment that will take place three months after this surgery, hopefully. We will know more after the surgery to see if this positive prognosis stands.
"The word cancer is a shocker. All that you found important in life before this diagnosis changes radically within minutes. Now I just want to be healthy again. I want to see my daughter grow into a woman; I want to live! And the scariest part of this diagnosis is that I thought I was healthy! I didn't feel the cancer, I didn't know it was there until I, as a 40+ woman, went to a standard mammogram checkup. Something many countries offer, for free even for the lucky ones. Had I not gone there, the tumor would have gone undetected. In a year from now this could have grown much bigger. The thought of that makes me share this story with you. A mammogram is lifesaving! It's uncomfortable and you might think that you won't have something in your breasts anyway but GO! And for the men reading this: remind your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister to go and get checked. Even without the luxury I as a western woman experience with free mammogram checkups: GO! Luckily, there are many organizations that offer information about self-detection if you do not have access or funds for a mammogram. If I might inspire you to take good care of yourself, then something good will come out of this cancer diagnosis.
"If all goes as planned, I will be up and running in time for the European tour with NIGHTWISH, that will start on the 20th of November! And I am optimistic since my prognosis is good!
"I promise to take good care of myself.
"I will be off the grid for a while to focus on myself."
Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon. Jansen officially joined NIGHTWISH in 2013.
As part of NIGHTWISH, Jansen landed two number one albums in Finland, and Top Five albums in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
