My many CFV X Yugioh ideas

Let me know which one you guys are interested in.

Duel Monsters

One of them is the one I’ve been talking about recently. Basically it has the Vanguard characters being a part of the Yugioh universe. There’s no Vanguard they all play Duel Monsters because the whole Yugioh universe revolves around it. I’m going to talk about it more as I post about it. It would eventually go on till Zexal.

The other one is actually a protagonist swap. Basically with Aichi as the protagonist of Duel Monsters and Yugi and Atem as the protagonists of Vanguard. It would go all the way into 5Ds because Aichi doesn’t just vanish like Yugi😅. Though he’s not as involved in GX and 5Ds. I thought it would be cool for Emi to attend Duel Academy for the GX portion.

5Ds

It’s kinda based on Reverse of Arcadia Aka Yugioh WC2010. Basically Aichi is kinda in the role of the protagonist of that game without absolutely cucking the other 5Ds characters. For those who don’t know your protagonist has basically been captured and brainwashed by the Arcadia movement later escaping. While Aichi is missing his friends are looking for him and participating in the main plot of 5Ds. Aichi would be taken because I imagine in Yugioh, Psyqualia would be some strain of the psychic powers. Also he gets his deck back after finding it locked away in the Arcadia Building because Yusei having it like the game makes absolutely no sense. Also I thought it would be funny if Aichi had a card that would be mistaken for a signer dragon😂.

It’s because of this funny moment in the game where the other characters think your the last signer. To make them not look like complete idiots I decided to give Aichi this. He will be using Infernoble Knights in this since they are more synchro focused. Honestly in my other story I could give this to Yuyu😂.

Other things on the agenda of this story:

-making Rua (Leo) become a signer when he was supposed to

-Ruka (Luna) actually being relevant to the plot

-No side lining Akiza or Carly

-screw Crow he keeps his original planned role

-also Sayer actually gets to come back

-rewriting the second half of 5Ds except Crash Town it stays

-maybe Yugo and Rin? Their inclusion isn’t for a particular reason I just like them and would like to include them. I think a very interesting way to introduce them could be through them being antagonists in the second half or earlier 👀. This would be like an reverse Arc-V legacy character situation. Basically it wouldn’t be the same character from Arc-V but they’d be really similar. I have had an idea of a story like that for awhile. I could roll that in so I have an excuse to include Yugo my favorite Yugioh character🤣.

Zexal

I actually have two ideas for Zexal one is similar to the Duel Monsters one I’ve been talking about. Except it has the characters exist in Zexal. Aichi ends of moving to Heartland when his Dad gets a job there allowing him to not have to work across the planet in America. It’s a bit awkward for Aichi since he doesn’t actually know his dad well and he is still hoping out hope of meeting Kai again. Though, he tries to make the most of it its a fresh start after all. He ends up meeting Yuma after he sees him looking at his Blaster Blade equivalent and hyperactively challenges him to a duel. Then he’s adopted into Yuma’s friend group. The other Vanguard characters appear later in the story at the beginning it’s just Aichi and his family.

The other is an isekai taking place near the end of the Asia Circuit and in late season 1 of Zexal. Basically the void and Don Thousand end up colluding together. Aichi, Kamui, Misaki, Kai, Ren, and Chris are forced into the Zexal world with numbers. Aichi and Kai are like the only ones who aren’t possessed at the beginning. Aichi is trying to free everyone and go back home to save Blaster Blade with the help of Yuma and co. Since Noble Knights act as the Royal Paladins naturally the Infernoble Knights act as the Gold Paladins.

Poor Aichi be like “I just want to save Blaster Blade”. Now, he has to deal with all of this nonsense 😂. Aichi also has to avoid falling under the control of his own number card especially since their amped by Don Thousand and the Void.

Arc-V

It’s the villain swap one I’ve talked about. Actually it’s the first one I ever talked about. It swaps the void and Zarc. You can look under my Arc V tag to find my old posts about it.

Hi Raven!!! You are the boss of bonrin fics so I’m asking for some advice since I’m looking to to write one. A big pet peeve of mine is that ryuuji is portrayed as catholic a lot even though he’s Buddhist. Asking if you have some sources or advice for writing a Buddhist character (I’m catholic so I’m pretty confident in portraying rin)???

I wouldn't say I'm the boss, but I've probably written the most xD

Ryuuji getting portrayed as a Catholic is also a major pet peeve of mine, and something I always strive not to do. Especially in canon following fics. (AUs I can understand, but even then I typically don't write him that way.)

Ryuuji follows a Vajrayana form of Buddhism, and he is (I believe) specifically a Shingon Buddhist. (A specific school of Buddhism in Japan. Here is a pretty good run down.)

Things to keep in mind:

Meditation is important and frequently done. It's not limited to sitting and chanting mantras either. You can and should meditate while doing anything. Cleaning, cooking, exercising, etc.

Ryuuji's form of Buddhism (most forms) have a high importance on teaching. Learning from a master is the only way to get a lot of information. It's a very secretive form of Buddhism. (Probably why Karura is with them.) Which also means a lot of knowledge died on the Blue Night with the elders.

Japanese Buddhism does not require you to shave your hair, and does not require you to give up meat in your diet, and allows you to get married, so you don't have to worry about having that in a story.

Ryuuji's form of Buddhism has a lot of focus on fire rituals ('Goma' rituals which is what they use Goma hall for.)

Buddhists' believe that all life is sacred. They're against hurting/killing others and don't believe in holding grudges. (Lol at the filler episode and the 'grudges over food can last generations!' Ryuuji trying to curb that potential before it even happens xD But also, the drama of his drive to defeat Satan for what he took from them.)

Ryuuji's form of Buddhism is heavily connected to the pantheon of Buddhist deities, including the Fudo Myo-o (The Immovable One. The statue you see in a lot of Ryuuji and Kyoto Trio art. He has Kurikara in most depictions. Kurikara is the sword he wields in most text, and the symbol you see on Kurikara and in the True Cross logo is his.) They are connected to the other Myo-o (the wisdom kings) like Yamantaka too. They'll invoke them for rituals and prayers for aids.

So for writing him, the first step is to simply not include any Catholic thinking/influence. He was raised at a dying Buddhist temple so he wouldn't have any real interaction with Catholicism before True Cross Academy. Guilt won't be a big driving force for him, but determination and an enormous work ethic will be. He's determined not to hurt humans/animals, and he has a lot of ways he meditates during his free time (traditional meditation, studying, exercising, cleaning.) He's a good student because he's been one all his life and it's tied to how he learns about his faith -- also why he gets really annoyed at people not willing to put any effort into learning or who try to do something that isn't learning/listening during classes. He has a really strong drive for justice, and isn't afraid to correct what he sees as bad behavior. (Also part of Buddhist practice. The teachers will correct the students.) He's going to eventually be entrusted with a lot of the secretive knowledge of his sect, and he takes that very seriously.

Can we see a drabble of Yugo being a dueling fanboy to Yusei, like eager about his bike and thinking it's cool Yusei built it himself n stuff?

It was a quiet spring afternoon, Yugo's heart was beating fast in anticipation as he approached the garage under the clock shop. He stopped and just took in the view ahead of him, his eyes sparkling as he stepped close to the open door of the garage and peaked inside. And there he saw his idol, Fudo Yusei himself working on his d-wheel.

Just days prior there was a tournament that Yugo was lucky enough to enter and duel THE Fudo Yusei, he didn't win the duel unfourntuatly. But Yugo still felt honored just duel and lose to Yusei, and something even greater than winning happened happened to him. Yusei smiled and shook his head, telling him what an amazing and close duel it was. Yugo was so excited and even begged Yusei to let him check out his d-wheel. Yusei laughed and agreed, even invited him to where his garage was-anytime Yugo needed a tuning for his engine for advice, he was welcome to stop by. Of course Yugo couldn't turn that down.

It brings him to present a few days later, Yugo was still peaking inside and just watching Yusei work. Yugo made a quiet noise of admiration, which made Yusei stop for a second to look over his shoulder.

"Ah, sorry Yusei! Don't mind me!" Yugo apologized, in impolite speech even with his idol.

Yusei didn't seem to mind at all and he just laughed softly and waved Yugo inside.

"Don't worry about it." Yusei mused and turned back to his d-wheel.

Standing over his shoulder, Yugo watched in amazement as Yusei worked. Yusei's d-wheel that was put together by hand was even more beautiful up close. The craftsmanship that Yugo wished he could achieve made his heart race in his chest.

"Yusei, you're so cool! No wonder you can duel so amazing, your d-wheel is awesome!!" Yugo fanboyed in such an enthusiastic tone as he circled around the bike. "I can't believe you built this just from scraps and it can go so fast. Do you think you can give me some advice on to spruce up the engine? I wanna know how you tuned yours so well!"

Yusei wiped the sweat off from his forehead and smiled at Yugo and reached over to pick up a wrench to hand him.

"Sure, you can help me if you'd like." Yusei mused simply.

Yugo happily took the wrench and knelt down, sticking his tongue out between his lips and stared at the engine just to take a look at it.

"-Also, i'd like to hear how you worked on your d-wheel as well. For someone your age, it was quite impressive already. I thought you were gonna overtake me on a few turns during the duel" Yusei added.

Yugo felt like he was on cloud-nine, to get a compliment from his idol felt like a dream. He came to the garage wanting advice and look at Yusei's d-wheel, and he wants to ask about HIS? He was happy.

Yugo couldn't wait to go home later that day and tell Rin all about it!
