#Gavin Williamson
The Tory government really do hold teachers and unions in general in contempt.
God forbid unions should want their workers to be safe during covid.

Rishi Sunak: This government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level.
Rishi Sunak: *Appointed 2 bullies as ministers, one as deputy PM, and one who once told Russia to “go away, it should shut up”.

Here we go again lads.
Gavin Williamson has resigned.
How he was ever let near politics in first place is beyond me. How he was allowed to stay this long is purely down to a lack of integrity and brain cells in the Tory party.
Here’s to the next prime minister, I expect we’ll be seeing you soon.

101 Things You Should Know About the UK Tory Government
Thing 30
Unelected Rishi Sunak has appointed Oliver Dowden to his cabinet in the role of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. I have to confess I had no idea what this post involved but GOV.UK tells us “after the Prime Minister, he is the most senior minister in the Cabinet Office.” As such he has a raft of important responsibilities, including "propriety and ethics," and "driving delivery of Government's priorities."
So, quite an important and influential job, and no doubt one Rishi Sunak gave much thought too before choosing Oliver Dowden to fill the post.
Sunak has come under deserved criticism for his poor judgement when appointing MP’s to his Cabinet. – the disgraced Suella Braverman, Gavin Williamson and Dominic Raab, both facing  enquiries into alleged bullying behaviour, to name but three.
Given Oliver Dowden has been described as having “the air of a trainee sales assistant on the luxury goods floor of a department store. Posh, well meaning, but not particularly bright”  (Guardian: 09/07/20) you might think here is one Rishi Sunak appointment beyond reproach. Think again.
Like many in Sunak’s Cabinet, Dowden is on the right of the party and as such has little sympathy for poor working people.
The Oxford Language dictionary describes the term “woke" as meaning "alert to injustice and discrimination in society, especially racism."
I may be old fashioned, but I would think being “alert to injustice and discrimination in society” was a prerequisite of all governments, not least the person responsible for government “propriety and ethics.” After all, how else are they able to formulate policies to improve the lives of the worst off in our society? But Dowden sees those who highlight injustice and discrimination within Britain as the enemy.
It is disturbing to learn that Dowden has delivered a “bizarre ‘Trumpian' speech to controversial US think tank," (London Economic: (15/02/22) where he condemned being alert to injustice and discrimination as: “a dangerous form of decadence,” and instead of looking to improve social justice within our own borders, “our attention should be focused on external foes.”
So, if you expect the Sunak government to deliver social justice anytime soon don’t hold your breath.

And so it goes, yaddi yadda.
Sir Gavin Williamson sent expletive laden texts to Wendy Morton when he wasn't invited to the Queen's funeral.
Sure.
Rishi Sunak says he knew about the texts (having earlier claiming he didn't) when he appointed Gavin as Minister for the Cabinet Office, but hasnt read them.
Because being told your new appointee sent someone a conspiracy theory laden tirade full of swearing is very different to actually reading them?
I assume he thought it didn't matter, which is why he neither read them nor let them stand in the way of appointing someone who does that to a governmental position.

Which British Conservative Member of Parliament served as Secretary of State for Education from 2019 to 2021?
Gavin Williamson (born 1976), the former Secretary of State for Education in the United Kingdom, held the position from 2019 to 2021. During his tenure, Williamson faced numerous controversies and criticisms, leaving a mixed legacy in the education sector.
One of the most significant challenges Williamson faced was the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on schools. As the pandemic forced schools to close and transition to remote learning, Williamson faced criticism for his perceived lack of preparedness and communication. Many argued that the government's response was slow and inadequate, leaving students and teachers in a state of uncertainty.
Another major controversy during Williamson's tenure was the handling of exam results in 2020. Due to the cancellation of exams, a controversial algorithm was used to determine grades, which resulted in widespread outcry and accusations of unfairness. The algorithm disproportionately affected students from disadvantaged backgrounds, leading to a public outcry and ultimately a U-turn by the government. Williamson faced immense criticism for his role in the debacle, with many calling for his resignation.
Despite these controversies, Williamson did make some notable contributions during his tenure. He championed the introduction of the T Levels, a vocational qualification designed to provide students with practical skills and work experience.

101 Things You Should Know About the UK Tory Government
Thing 87
Sunak’s ministerial appointments have been besmirched by underlying scandal’s just waiting to surface. From tax avoidance to bullying, Sunak has been accused of neglect and weakness when appointing key personnel to his government.
Nadhim Zahawi, Dominic Raab, Gavin Williamson and Suella Braverman are the well-known faces of this sorry sordid story but there are others.
Rishi Sunak appointed Graham Stuart as Minister of State in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 6 September 2022. Mr Stuart’s responsibilities, amongst others, include,
Net Zero Strategy, low carbon generation, international climate and climate change, electricity and gas wholesale markets, electricity and gas retail markets and green finance.
It is therefore very disturbing to learn that Stuart has recently made headlines by claiming that not all fossil fuels are the “spawn of the devil” and that issuing new oil and gas exploration licences was “good for the environment". He also supports opening up new coalmines.
As if that were not bad enough, it has now emerged that:
“…in 2019, Stuart received a £10,000 donation towards his re-election campaign from JR Rix & Sons, a Hull-based business primarily involved in the distribution and sale of fuel, including heating oil, diesel and petrol."  (Guardian: 26/01/23)
Caroline Lucas, Green Party MP for Brighton Pavillion is reported by the Guardian to have said:
“For dirty fossil fuel cash to go directly into the pockets of ministers, who then greenlight new oil & gas licences and a climate-wrecking coalmine, is nothing short of a scandal – and it will be the public and our planet paying the price. If Stuart doesn’t recognise this glaring conflict of interest, he shouldn’t be in the job."
Is there anyone in Rishi Sunak’s government who isn’t tainted with the stench of scandal?

The prospect of the Sussex Local Skills Improvement
The prospect of the Sussex Local Skills Improvement
At the beginning of August, the Department for Education (DfE) published their initial “Statutory Guidance for the Development of a Local Skills Improvement Plan” (LSIP). There is clearly a lot that the Government needs to do to promote the plans and recommendations from the Sussex LSIP to introduce improvements for our educational agencies. However, it is encouraging that the extensive work that…
