Kurt Fashion: Pilot

Iconic first shot of Kurt. Lowkey very simple compared to his later outfits, but the jacket is enough to get across his character. Also the whole ‘we’ll throw you in the dumpster but take off your designer jacket first’. Love it. And I love when Kurt wears black, esp with the turtleneck. Not usually a turtleneck fan, but he pulls it off. Even babyfaced Kurt omg he’s so young here and the haiirrr.

I love you Kurt but what is this. No. the tank top over the dress shirt? Why?? And a see-through tank like babe. Honey. Sweetie. But also rare elbow sighting bc as we’ll see, Kurt tends to be very covered up (which says a lot about his character and I will bring it up later)

His Audition. Beautiful. Amazing. The colour combo here is kinda off to me? But his confidence sells it so I can’t even be mad at it. Also the length of the shirt... I feel like it either needs to be tucked in or have a different cut.

Return of the turtleneck! I actually love in shows when characters rewear pieces bc a)seems more realistic and b)it’s fun to see how they can restyle things. This outfit, again, is pretty tame. Do love the pants, hints of later steampunk/newsie vibes we’ll see more of later

Okay but in the first season Kurt will wear this cut of pants a lot? where they aren’t quite fitted? Idk, not a huge fan. Love the hat, though not as great as some of his later pieces. Also the buttondown: a soon to be staple of his fashion. The sweater.... um. Look, I don’t mind the long sweaters and the colour shift is okay, but then it also switches textures and not down. Also, the fit of it is very weird. It does fit Kurt though bc baby!Kurt is definitely more layered/baggy with clothing. Maybe part of his armor or something

So normally I’ll skip his performance outfits bc not really ‘his style’ bc part of group, but I love how they all have to wear red shirts and obvs he chose one with Ruffles bc he is Iconic. ALso, jeans. I love Kurt in jeans and I’m excited for him to wear them more.

the 2 second clip of this shirt but just. I love this shirt. I want this shirt. I need this shirt. And ofc he can’t Just wear the button down or Just the tshirt, he’s gotta layer bc he’s still in Hiding mode. My babe

Overall for pilot outfits: We def get his character. We get the hints to some great fashion, but we also get hints to some... interesting pieces in his future.
