fav characters

asta: number one best boy who deserves all the happiness in the world. literal sunshine. he just makes me so very happy every time i see him 😭

yami: yeah he's strong, inspirational and a dilf but my fav thing about yami is how he's just so chill and unbothered and he's a mess just like the rest of his squad, and even though he's a powerful captain, we still see that he still has moments where he gets defeated or cornered and gets help from others, and we get to see him become even more stronger. he's also just very funny af, the way he lovingly bullies his family 🥰

nacht: one of the best written characters in the series! im a sucker for edgy characters with long hair, so he was kind of an instant fav for me. i loved him even more when we got to know about his past with yami and morgen, and how he became the person he is now. also very sick character designs with his devil union forms! im looking forward to see how him being with the black bulls will affect him!

noelle: also one of the best written characters not only in black clover but shonen in general. im still fairly new to anime so i haven't met a lot of heroines yet, but out of all the ones i have seen, noelle is probably the best written. we get to see her overcome her weaknesses and continue to grow with every fight. she doesn't get pushed aside as a minor support; she gets plenty of moments to shine and contributes to the main battles. she's not someone who gets one very cool moment and then forgotten about. every time she gets a new spell im just like !!!!! yes !!!! best girl !!!!

mereoleona: this woman has ignited something within me when she showed up and im just in love with her. super bad ass, headstrong and unbothered. she's obv one of the most powerful characters, maybe even more than yami (debatable tho), yet she prefers to do what she wants and i just love that for her. my queen my beloved.

yuno: another best boy !!! i've always liked yuno because he's just the best rival ever. in the beginning we thought he's the typical bully rival, but we learned that he's actually so supportive of asta (literally asta's biggest fan) even in the beginning. my love for yuno grew during the spade raid arc bc we get to see how much he grew stronger, but also how he really feels about all the titles and power he was given. also im really excited about seeing more of his star magic because i love anything space related hehe it's gonna be so pretty animated

julius: i loved julius because he was such a precious nerd about magic. his excitement about everything was just so cute. then, chapter 331 happened. my brain almost exploded. lucius zogratis !!! is he evil for real ??? or is he possessed ??? either way, one can't help but look back at his entire character and relationship with everyone and wonder if it was all an act. he's still cute tho. but like, regardless, his character had always been very interesting, even more now with the plot twist! im really excited for the manga to come back from hiatus and find out more about about him because that shit is craaaaazy.

finral: i love this boy with my entire heart and soul. yeah he doesn't stand out as one of the most powerful characters, but that's why i love him so much. he's just so soft and gentle and so loving and wholesome no matter how he's treated. he isn't really much of a fighter, but he supports his friends and family in his own ways. he's strong in his own ways. his backstory with his family really hit home for me personally, so i can't help but connect with him and root for him. i just want him to be happy 😭

vanessa: also low key in love with her. hot and powerful??? yes please. her backstory with the witch queen was so so good! but mostly i just love her energy and her dynamic with the black bulls. she really is everyone's big sister. her presence in general is just so comforting ??? idk how to explain it but i love vanessa so very much and i hope she'll have more moments to shine again soon!

zora: also one of the best written characters in the series! first of all, great character design. love the sharp teeth and crop top. second of all, great backstory. it was def painful but it was just so so good. with zora (and zara), we get to see a side of the magic knights that not many people in the clover kingdom acknowledge. we also get to see more characters like asta and magna, those with very little to no magic, but also different in his own ways. his magic is super cool too! but like yeah. he's just so very cool and so funny !!

now the ships !!! i don't really focus much on ships but here's some of my fav pairings!

yami and charlotte: they're cute. i like the little compliments he gives her (in his own way), and charlotte getting flustered is always amusing. we don't know if yami genuinely has romantic feelings for her, but they'd be cute! so i hope we get to see how they develop as the manga comes to an end!

gauche and grey: also very cute, especially because of that one episode where gauche was telling grey that she's fine the way she is ???? pls. it's clear that grey sees gauche as someone important to her, and a motivation for her to get stronger and push herself, and gauche is one of the few people that truly knows her, so i like them very much.

asta and noelle: im kinda on the fence about them being romantic. like they'd def be cute together for sure, but my son hasn't really shown interests in anyone aside from sister lily. even then, that's really just a school boy crush lmao. i feel like asta hasn't really thought about being in a romantic relationship because he's so focused on being a magic knight. but i do love that noelle is now upfront about her feelings. i do love them platonically though!!! they've been growing and getting stronger together since day one!!!! they motivate each other and support each other in however way they can, and it's just so wholesome!

luck and magna: i just love these two together, doesn't matter if it's romantic or platonic. just seeing them together makes me so happy omg doesn't matter if they're bullying each other or fighting together. i just love them !!! i hope we get to see them fight side by side again soon!

finral and vanessa: i personally like them platonically but don't mind those who ship them romantically. just like with luck and magna, i just love them together!!! they're my fav duo !!!! they just seem so fun and comforting to be around. i would love to be friends with them omg

yami and nacht: the black bulls parents !!!! with them, it's 60% romantic and 40% platonic kinda ship. their past, with the two of them just running around the clover kingdom and being troublesome, is just so precious. they relate to each other and understand each other a lot, + they got that thing with morgen 😭 so they def have a lot of history. on the other hand, i feel like nacht may be emotionally unavailable because of everything that happened to him, so he may not want to be in any romantic relationship atm, but regardless, i just love nacht and yami's dynamic! that team up against lucifero was soooo good and im really excited to see more of them soon!

asta and yuno: just like with magna and luck, i don't mind the ship whether if it's romantic or platonic. i just love them together! they are rivals but also besties !!! and that's all that matters! but also as i said with astelle, asta and yuno are both too focused on other things to really think about romantic relationships, so im not sure about it. but overall, this duo is just *chef's kiss* every time they interact, it's always so cute and amusing. and the team up fights aahhhh !! i wonder if we'll ever get to see them fight each other. that would be interesting.

charlotte and mereoleona: ok so you know the hot spring scene ???? and charlotte and mereo were drinking together ????? that's some good fuckin food. that's like the only interaction they got but idc they would be so hot and powerful as a couple omg. if charlotte gets tired of yami, mereo is right there waiting for her.

nozel and dorothy: doesn't matter if they're romantic or platonic but i really like the idea of dorothy just annoying tf outta nozel for shits and giggles and the two of them being low key kind of close. i love relationships where one is like, no energy, and the other has chaotic energy (when dorothy is awake ofc). i just think they'd be so funny together.

Incoherent ramblings about TLOU(s last episode)

Wednesday... About to get ready for another hard day of adulting and making decisions I do NOT wanna make but have to. But before that I need to get some thoughts out of my head or my brain will explode.

Sunday was the last episode of my new fav show. I knew it would be hard and devastating. It always has been so far. And boy did they deliver the most emotional rollercoaster so far.

Once again, that show is hitting highs no other show will ever get to. Everything else pales against the most genius writing/filming/editing... it’s the most perfect thing out there right now (yes, OFMD is still a VERY close second, I love that one dearly but right now TLOU just is THE show).

Week after week Im blown away by the whole thing, but particular by Pedro’s and Bella’s insane acting!!! Those two are so fuckin’ talented. Bella is just ... GOD, that kid (I mean, they’re NINETEEN!!!) *shakes head* How they’re doing this, playing a CHILD like this?!?!? It’s fucking MINDBLOWING!! Ellie’s carefree giggles compared to the devastating delivery of ONE FUCKING WORD at the end is incomprehensible to me!!! I know I keep saying this, but if they’re not getting ALL THE FREAKING AWARDS come award season, there’s something SERIOUSLY wrong with the whole damn thing. Im sure they know how amazing they are, they must be seeing all the love and adoration and praise all over the place and yet I wanna yell it into their face, let them know how very much they’re changing the landscape of ACTING!! UGH!!

And do NOT get me started on Pedro. That man. *shakes head* I’ve spent the past weeks in Pedro heaven. Watching (my way through) all his work, interviews, scrolling though instas and pinterest sides, doing the deepest dive I’ve done when coming in new into a fandom that’s pretty much existent for over a decade!

It’s so insane to me, that the man who’s doing the loveliest/funniest/silliest interviews and being the dorkiest, most lovable human being under the sun, is capable of bringing to life one of the most complicated character i’ve ever witnessed. His Joel is stunning. (again, I don’t know the game so I have NOTHING to compare to - Im sure others can speak on that) but BY THE GODS, his range is fucking unbelievable!!! He goes from being the coldest, most closed-off human being to the softest and gentlest dad and it’s a fucking JOY to witness that. Seeing him open up, bit by excruciating bit, letting his heart love again... just to have to become the cruelest, most fearsome man in order to save his Ellie? My heart shattered into a million pieces watching him going on that rampage in the hospital - im still getting chills just thinking about that. Playing someone like that isn’t easy, getting into the headspace of it, preparing to convincingly portray someone who’s entire world just came crashing down on him AGAIN? I can’t even imagine how one does that.

Pedro makes it look like it’s the easiest thing in the world!!! Which makes it even more insane when you KNOW what a soft, sweet and gentle goofball he seems to be in real life!!!

Words still fail me here. So yeah, if you’ve watched it, you probably know what I mean.

The SOFTNESS of him in that episode, trying to get Ellie to talk, to engage, knowing what she’s went through - the reversal of their dynamics from back in the first epis: Ellie chattering about all day, and Joel being all silent and grumpy is incredible. His face when he talks to her about things he LOVES? Goodness me, my heart was aching. He was trying SO HARD!!!

And poor Ellie was traumatized and yet she’s doing her best to reply, to be present.

I am in love with all of Joel’s facial expression around her. (his face must HURT from all the smiling he’s done in this episode. That man was MADE to smile - it’s like the fucking SUN and how dare they to deny him that!) He’s so SOFT and sweet and embracing the love he has for her. Telling her the truth about the scar? GOSH, my heart was beating out of my chest when I realized WHAT had happened. But then, of course he tried - his purpose was gone. (Which in return makes me wonder, WHY he didn’t try again??? So many questions. Joel’s such a complicated, complex person and I can’t wait to try my hands on him in writing!)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE when they give us such tender moments (even though I KNOW they won’t last). Even when they’re painful like ‘I’ll follow you anywhere you go’ or ‘wasn’t time that did it’. ASDFGHJKLÖÄ. These two (actors and characters) are soo soo dear to my heart by now and I would go to the ends of the fucking universe to protect them!!!

They deserve some peace and quiet... but of course they won’t get it. Well, at least we have around 2 years I guess until they’ll be back?! I wonder how unspoilered I can stay. (I know too much already but Im still not looking for it, even though Bella (probably unconsciously) may have spoilered...some things (again, I’ve seen things so that wasn’t a hard leap to make). I don’t know.

I just know, I hope to see her and Pedro together again for events and award season, being their beautiful, adorable, lovely selves around each other, making me smile til my face hurts and help me get through anything shitty real life throws at me. Their real life chemistry is insane and I love their love for each other so very much!! It oozes from every look they share, every touch and I’ve never seen a more perfect team than these two!!! *sighs happily*

So what I’m trying to say here is, that I love this show! Every single frame, every single second of pain and heartbreak, love and joy it brought me in the last nine weeks. EVERYTHING about it is perfect to me, every choice they made, be it music (ASDFGHJKLÖ), lights, cameras, locations... it’s just overall the most beautiful, perfect and epic thing i’ve watched since OFMD last year!

I might add some more incoherent thoughts once I’ve rewatched it with a bit of space between now and then. I KNOW I will def try my hands on writing some TLOU fic (not exactly sure what).

i read this entire series at like 8 am after not sleeping the night before and oh my god i was literally so soft!! like this is so fucking cute i literally felt like i was going to throw up the entire time (in the best way yk) like omg the butterflies i got from this series? unmatched. also, i feel that it’s necessary to add the part of this that made my heart absolutely explode: Harry’s thumb stroked her jawline, a smile molding his features. “Y’not a baby love, unless you want to be my baby. And I like you a lot, too. And stuff. like okay kill me <3

alright so h is literally so sweet in this one!! he’s so gentle and lovely and i truly fell in love with him in the very first few paragraphs. and he’s so out of tune with everything but he’s trying his best to understand and just... sigh. “I’d look forever for you, if I had to.” love love love this line so much it’s literally the perfect way to tie everything together

this is very creepy during the first chapter but in such a good way!!! i literally found myself gasping and i barely ever vocally react to a fic unless i am squealing at the fluff or crying but i vocally react to lindsee’s fics literally they are so good pleaseee. and omg the growth throughout this fic truly is impeccable i swear.

okay this is so cute!!! loved every single word of it!!! there was a bit of angst at the very beginning that had my heart hurting but it was all mended by the end!!! the dad!harry content was absolutely immaculate omg i literally loved reading about atticus!!!!! i absolutely love long pieces and i think that this piece was the perfect length!! there were so many things that were packed in there but it didn’t seem rushed or jumbled or anything like that!!!!

okay first things first, i love japanrry in any form so i knew just by looking at the description that i was going to love this regardless of what was in it. to be honest i didn’t expect him to have a penny board that he used to get everywhere but there’s something so cute about that to me. throughout this entire fic, i was so amazed at the way that their relationship moved along so naturally and at such a good pace. i feel like there’s an art to making things move along at the right pace, and you definitely have that down!! i truly loved this fic so much and will probably be coming back at times to reread!

i am very in love with this!!! boxer!h is so freaking yummy plus it’s so well written that i can feel everything, which is so amazing. i love that i’m able to feel all the emotions and picture everything while reading!! my heart broke a bit for harry while he was sad and just looking for love in any way he could find it. like mega sigh. also, i love the way that the characters are introduced. like, y/n doesn’t come at the very beginning but it’s so natural when she’s finally introduced. and omg the interactions that they had??? the reassurances??? *chef’s kiss*

before i even started reading this, i knew i would love it!!! teacher!h has a special place in my heart for some reason i truly love him so much!! oh my god the yearning in this piece is so heartbreaking!!!! i literally read through the entire thing thinking that i was going to cry because of how much i could feel y/n and harry yearning for each other. sigh this is so cute i will definitely be rereading (most likely multiple times)

ahhh this is literally so cute i live for the long distance friendships + only seeing each other over the summer!!! that is literally so amazing to me that you love someone that much to wait all year to only see them for a month!!! and this was such a good representation of the love and yearning that come with that!!! and i absolutely adore the way that you described each of them and their nicknames for each other!!!! love love love!!!

this is my study abroad dream!!!!! the loveliness of them meeting and drunk!harry is just so sweet i love it so much!!! and the way that the flashback is in the middle and explains everything is so genius!!! and the full circle of it all makes me so happy!!! also the way that i cried at the end of the four months!! like that was heartbreaking but everything was pieced back together as it went along!!!

this is prof!h so you know it’s great!!! i am such a sucker for this au i swear. this was so cute!! the way that everything progressed and the confession and the tension!!!! and then the “Yours.” at that one part had me screaming!!! and the way that he literally had a plan oh my god that’s so cute!!!! i love their dynamic so much!!!

this is so sweet oh my god it’s beautifully written and i really felt everything that was going on!! personally, i’m not a person of color, but i think that this piece truly was written so wonderfully and it’s very lovely!!!! the insecurities made me literally want to cry, but the way that h was there to comfort was very nice, it made me so soft!!

this is absolutely so cute!!! y/n has such a beautiful little personality and harry feeling things with her even though his “reputation” is different than hanging out with people like her is so great!! and the way that he takes up for her and the way that she comforts him is so lovely!!

this is actually the second time that i’ve read this fic tbh!! it’s just so good!! the dynamic of him trying to stay away from her because it’s dangerous for her to be too close to him and then him trying even harder to stay away from her and hide his feelings only for her to make a move is golden.

y/n pretends to be harry’s girlfriend

okay this one hurt a bit at first. i wanted to flick h in the forehead at first for trying to make someone else jealous with y/n but he redeemed himself as he does so i shall let him off the hook this time haha. i think that the way that they progress is so sweet plus!!! everyone loves a good fake dating au!!!

this is the first werewolf au i’ve read in a while and it’s actually really good!! i love how everything progressed and the way that harry was like.... this isn’t supposed to happen like this!!!! it’s all very cute and it’s very enemies to lovers-esque even though they aren’t enemies lmao

Having Mac as a partner meant that Jack was used to things exploding for no particular reasons even if, of course, it was better when his partner was the one making things explode. Anyway, he didn't panic when an explosion made Mac and him scramble for opposite hiding places; he didn't panic when someone shot at them, and he had to shoot back blindly, cursing all the way through; he didn't panic when Mac didn't whip up a miracle before Jack had managed to take care of things, and was even a little smug to have been faster. Jack might playfully act as if things were out of control, but he knew how to keep his cool no matter the situation.

"Jack?" Mac asked, his voice frail and fibble, so unlike himself that Jack knew immediately something was wrong.

He turned to his partner at the same time the blond stumbled clumsily toward him, an awful dark spot on his shirt spreading too quickly. Jack let his gun fall as he rushed toward his partner, his kid, Mac - raising his arms just in time to catch him crumbling.

That was when Jack panicked.

His hands grabbed the folds of Mac's shirt, trying to keep him forcefully on his feet for some time longer as Jack's brain scrambled to accept this new reality - everything had been okay, and now it wasn't, and there was something warm and liquid staining his shirt and his pants and Mac was moaning in pain and-

"No," Jack exhaled shakily, brain finally snapping to attention. "No, no, no, don't do this."

Mac's limp body was sliding further in his arms and Jack finally realised he needed to lay him down. It was awkward, terrifying really, his partner's heavy and unresponsive body difficult to manoeuvre - and then Mac yelled out in pain when Jack helped him on his back, trashing too weakly to do damage to anything else than Jack's heart.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, trying to sooth the kid as he put his bloody hands over the wound. "I'm sorry," he repeated, tears in his eyes as he pressed down, drawing a scream that pierced right through his soul.

Mac's eyes were glassy and barely open when Jack called Matty, requesting harshly for backup while he threw his entire weight to try and staunch the bleeding. He wasn't screaming anymore, only feebly moaning when Jack took his pulse, and understood just how dire the situation was.

"Jack," Mac coughed, blood tainting his lips as the pain made him see stars, until it became too much and his head lolled to the side.

"Oh no you don't," Jack exclaimed, putting one of his bloody hand on Mac's too pale cheek, trying to rouse him. "Mac, you've got to stay with me," he insisted, when the kid finally opened his unfocused eyes again.

"Jack," he called again, fear permeating his tone - and Jack hated it, hated how little and scared he sounded, when he knew that Mac was the best damn agent on this Earth and that he never deserved this.

"I'm here. I'm here Mac, I promise." There were tears in Jack's eyes, and his heart was pounding so hard he was scared he wouldn't hear Mac if he talked again.

"S-sorry," Mac bit out, his breathing ragged and uneven - and Jack couldn't help but laugh, or sob really, his hand still trying to put warmth back on the blonde's cold skin.

"You've got nothing to be sorry for, hoss." The reassurance sounded empty to his own ears, but Mac smiled and that was the most important thing.

Then, his eyes closed, and Jack couldn't breathe anymore.

"No," he begged, shaking Mac as much as he could while still putting pressure on the wound. "Please kid, don't do this to me."

His tears were running freely along his cheeks, falling down to mingle with the blood still seeping from the atrocious stomach wound. Jack wanted to be angry - he wanted to think about the bastard that put the bullet here, wanted to wish he could revive him only to kill him all the more slowly, wanted to scream and fight and feel something other than the pure despair that took residence in his chest.

"Please, please, wake up," Jack sobbed to an unresponsive Mac, pushing his blonde hair out of his face tenderly, "I can't do this without you."

The blood streaks he left contrasted sharply with Mac's pale skin. The kid didn't answer, didn't twitch, barely even breathed.

There were footsteps behind Jack but he didn't turn around - it wouldn't matter anyway. He was unarmed and if Mac… If Mac… It didn't matter anyway.

Someone touched his arm and Jack nearly elbowed them, their quick reflexes their only saving grace. Numbly, Jack noticed that it was a medic - that the other people crowding them were the rescue team he had called for, doing all they could to save Mac, but all he could see was the blue of his lips, the limpness of his body and the red that stained everything up to his hair, looking like it would never go away.

Jack hadn't slept in a long time. He had crashed, sure, but it was more bouts of unconsciousness than actual rest, no matter how much the team tried to convince him he couldn't go on like this. It was probably true - but he had no desire to go on, if it wasn't by Mac's side.

It had been weeks since the mission. The mission, in which everything went to hell. Mac had survived, despite every doctors careful words to "prepare themselves for the worst" - the kid was stubborn like that. Unable to do as he was told, be it medical professionals announcing his death or Jack begging him to wake up.

Jack sighed, the dark hospital room his only witness as Mac kept his eyes resolutely closed. He was exhausted, and terrified, his body trembling slightly from the nervous energy coursing through it. Since Mac stumbled - since Mac fell, limp and bleeding into his arms, the world felt like it was trying to drown him. The air was too thick, the spaces too crowded, and there was still blood under his fingernails he was sure of it but he couldn't get it out-

Jack bit his lips hard, hoping they wouldn't break this time. Riley would be sad.

He kept Mac's hand under his own, revelling in its warmth and the occasional twitches that told him his partner was alive - it was nothing short of a miracle, even if Mac would argue otherwise.

"J'ck."

The hoarse whisper startled Jack so bad he nearly screamed, until he met the two most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen, aware and focused on him in a way they hadn't been since a bullet made its way to Mac's gut. Jack laughed, pressing the call button as he got up, hovering above Mac and barely holding himself back from hugging him to death.

"See?" Mac mumbled, "I woke up."

"Yeah," Jack breathed out, feeling like his heart might burst from relief, "thank you, Mac."

Thank you for waking up, because I wouldn't have been able to carry on without you, he didn't say, but somehow, he felt like Mac understood all the same.

I was tagged by @sirilikestowrite and I am answering all the questions! Yay!!

1. When creating your characters, where do you draw inspiration from?

Sort of everywhere. Movies, TV, other books, dreams, random people on the street, some weird place in my brain that goes, “hey this would be cool.”

2. What is your naming process for your characters?

I like to choose names from the country of origin of the character that directly plays into who they are as a person or is ironic is some way. I also have characters pop up and say, “hello, I’m Thaine.” “Thaine?” “Yes, deal with it.”

3. Is there an important, overlying message that you want your readers to glean from your piece? If so, what is it?

Each NBC series book is different but for the first one it’s definitely that love has the power to heal and that running from something is never the answer. For the series as a whole: power corrupts, always. And I don’t just mean the antag.

4. Is your piece going to be a stand-alone book? Or do you intend on writing a sequel (or multiple sequels)?

It’s a series of 10. Yah. I’m nuts.

5. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? What part do you enjoy the least?

I love every aspect of writing except for editing. I feel soooo bad and sort of like a failure when I go over my stuff and see how much I need to change. Even though it’s nuts I want it to be good on the first try/draft.

6. What part of writing do you find most difficult? What do you do to get yourself through this process?

Moving past a difficult scene or overcoming a block of some sort.

7. When discussing your piece, what is your favorite thing to tell people? (Ex: Characters/World-building/Plot/Sideplots/Etc)

Everything! I love my little world so much.

8. Where do you like to write?

In my office where everything is set up how I like it.

9. Do you prefer to write multiple pieces at the same time? Or just focus on one. Why?

I don’t know if it’s prefer so much as I can’t help but work on a bunch at once.

10. When did you first find your passion for writing? What caused it?

Well, in kindergarten we would dictate stories to our teacher who would write them down and then in second grade we had time to write our stories and make little books, my parents actually saved them, and it all exploded from there.

1. What was the name of the first story you ever wrote? What was it about?

Well, I dictated a story about a princess with a cat to my kindergarten teacher. The first real novel I worked on was a story about people who could control the four elements, two of them fell in love- fire and water, but couldn’t touch each other, super dramatic sad scenes of them holding their hands up to a piece of glass, and then Pyra, fire girl, dies saving the world and can finally touch Acquin’s, water guy’s, hand as her powers leave her. I built a giant world around it and got to chapter 8 before my computer crashed and I lost it. I have it on paper up to that point. I may rework it at some point.

2.Who is your favorite of your ocs?

All of them, they are all weird, badass peeps

3.What is your fav wip?

NBC is the one I’m dedicating the most time to. I am excited about Through a Hawk’s Eyes though.

4.Which plot point destroyed you?(Aka what part of your plot hurt you most? You don’t need to give a lot of detail)

I had to put Ciaran through something horrible so that he could finally let go of the past and I had to have Hope do something really stupid so she could see the error of her ways. I’m sorry guys don’t hate me.

5. If you are a planner, what is your way of organizing your thoughts and if you are a pantser, how do you keep track of what you’ve written before?

Yes and yes, I plan and pants. I use evernote to keep track of things and if I just have to write something I save it in google drive and evernote so I can find it and incorporate it later.

6.What is your favorite book?

Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. I read it at the perfect time. I also really love anything by Neil Gaiman, especially American Gods, and I love JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, yes it’s romance. I like it, so there.

7.How do you make your ocs real? How do you develop them to make them feel more real to the reader?

People are walking contradictions and they have unique “flaws/habits” that affect their lives. I try to remember that when I create a person.

8.How do you get through writer’s block?

I re-read what I just wrote to see if it gets me in the mood, or I paint something and see if that image sparks an idea. Or, I read.

9.Most favorite and least favorite parts of writing?(Copying this from one of the questions I got cause I wanna know!)

10.What do you think your fandom symbol would be?(Like the hallows symbol for hp, the ring for lotr, the mockingbird for hunger games…)

Oh wow, I don’t know. I don’t really have a symbol used in the books. But maybe a quick image of the sun coming up, since the Dawning is when demons were revealed.

my favorite moments from the lightning thief musical: a list

far from comprehensive, because it was all-around amazing :D

also geez i meant for this to be short?? ok this is the long version and i’ll post an abridged one that’s a bit less wordy in a few

in terms of production value, it reminded me a bit of a starkid musical - there were no fancy special effects, but i liked it that way! it felt homemade almost, like they didn’t try to convince the audience that they weren’t sitting in a theatre watching a show and i appreciate that! brecht would be proud lol (sorry for the lame theatre nerd jokes)

they included blue food!! sally and percy had blue marshmallows at montauk!! on that note, percy and sally’s relationship was absolutely spot-on, it was clear from the start how much he loved her and how much she loved him :’)

they included the “you drool when you sleep” line boy I nearly cried!! ALSO she said that to him when he was still all dazed from the minotaur attack (a guy with a paper mache head, btw haha) so later when he meets her again when luke introduces her percy saw her and shouted “YOU’RE MY DREAM GIRL! no no wait I mean the girl from my dream!” it made me laugh like a fool and it was sooooo THEM like thank jesus lord, we’ve finally got a GOOD REPRESENTATION OF THESE CHARACTERS!!

jumping off from that: chris mccarrell as percy was INCREDIBLE. he perfectly encapsulated everything percy should be - his impulsivity, his frustrations with dyslexia/adhd/not doing well in school, his love for his mom, his friendship with grover, his disrespect for authority (i refuse to use the word “sass” in relation to percy but i mean if it was 2013 that’s how i would describe it), his confusion, his bravery, his goofiness - when he picked up his sword for capture the flag he went “COOOOOL” and started making lightsaber noises and i almost teared up a bit i kid you not because I really finally felt like I was seeing Percy up on that stage. also, the boy has some wicked pipes.

also for reference i’ll try my best to list who all played what part because there were a lot

percy and annabeth were just themselves the whole time, and grover also played mr. d in a few scenes but the rest of the cast played all the different parts

mr. brunner/chiron also played a random aphrodite girl (he wore a wig with long blonde braids skdjhfsjdh), medusa, poseidon, and hades

sally also played silena, the oracle, echidna, and charon

luke also played smelly gabe and ares

clarisse also played mrs. dodds, katie gardner, a squirrel (to be explained later hah), bianca (also to be explained later), and thalia (also also to be explained later)

& i’m probably missing a few but those were the major ones! they also played generic students, tourists, etc.

chiron was really funny, when he revealed himself to be a centaur he sort of just stood up from his wheelchair and was wearing a fake horse tail and he walked everywhere by prancing which was funny

mr. d was ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL? as mentioned he was played by the guy who played grover! he was angry and he was loud and he wore this floppy hat and pants pulled up to like his ribcage and he shouted every line and i LOVED IT. a random/unnamed half blood came in and set up a metal chair for him at his table full of paperwork and he kicked it over in rage so she set it up again and he kicked it again later and she ran away and he tried to kick his chair over a third time but it wasn’t there so he went and picked it up just to kick it over again. ALSO HE CALLED PERCY PETER JOHNSON GOD BLESS THE WRITERS!!

also i’m giving them a thumbs up for diversity!! luke and sally were both african american and grover was latino!! it was nice!!

annabeth did call percy out for assuming her dad was the god, like i think that convo was almost word for word from the book AMAZING

also her crush on luke was super obvi, she got all giggly every time he talked to her or put his arm around her shoulder aw

they sort of condensed a few events, which makes sense because most people wouldn’t sit through a 6-hour musical (i would but that’s beside the point!), so annabeth’s capture the flag strategy was to send percy into the bathroom as clarisse bait. ALSO the toilet explosion & the later tidal wave he hits ares with were done by attaching toilet paper rolls to leaf blowers and blowing them all over the stage - like i said, no fancy special effects, but it got the point across pretty well!!

percy’s claiming happened at the bonfire after they all sang a fun song about how much it sucks to be a kid of a god (during which grover ate his marshmallow roasting stick, like it’s the little things that make this show so great!!) and for that they stood downstage and all pointed vaguely outwards and said “look! the stars are arranging themselves into a trident!” hah

ALSO mr. d’s bit about wanting to turn percy into a dolphin was in there god bless

percy wore the winged shoes the whole time instead of giving them to grover!

^that all was act 1! act 2 was the entirety of the quest which meant that a lot of the events got cut or shortened

the medusa scene was awesome, and pretty true to the books!! also they both sort of ran offstage and then percy ran back onstage with his sword and the head in his hands lol

while grover went into the back of aunty m’s to look for supplies annabeth had this amazing, utterly badass song called “wise girl” about how she’s had to fight all her life to make it, like she talked about her stepmom hating her and running away from home and stuff and it was SOOOOO GOOD like at one point she said “boys who mess up are given a second chance, but i don’t have that luxury” like DAMN GIRL TELL THEM!! also she did call him seaweed brain a few times and i was like oooooh man i’d almost forgotten my vintage percabeth feels

also yes percy did mail medusa’s head to mount olympus and did this very percy-ish little “heh heh heh i’m clever” laugh as he did

instead of a poodle grover asked a squirrel for directions which was cute!! and yes, annabeth did yell at percy to apologize to the squirrel for offending it :D

most of the trip west was done as a song/montage sort of thing, from post-medusa to vegas all happened in one song! so echidna and her chimera were there, but it was just her holding a dog carrier and it biting percy’s hand when he reached in and them all screaming and then it moved on!!

OK UM the part that made my day was the lotus hotel, it was like 5 seconds long because annabeth was like “wait!! in the odyssey if you sleep in a lotus bed you wake up years later!” so percy was like “that’s ridiculous! here let me ask this girl how long she’s been here” and the girl was like “my brother and I have been here since thursday!” and percy was like “see? we’re fine” and then she went “in 1939!!” and they sorta screamed and ran out lol and she charlestoned off but anyway the point is she had black braids and a little hat and i turned to my sister and whisper-shouted “THAT’S BIANCA!!!” and she was like “OMG IT IS” i loved it!!!!!!!!!!!! thank god the writers of this ACTUALLY READ THE BOOKS!!

ares’ first scene was kinda short too, they cut the bit about going to waterland/the tunnel of love ride and just had him give them a ride to the next place, also it was suuuuper obvi foreshadowing because when he gave percy the backpack an ominous chord played lol

my other fav moment was when they were on the train to LA (they cut the zoo truck too) grover told percy the story of getting annabeth/luke/thalia to CHB and they reenacted it as he sang about it (that sounds cheesy, it was the three of them up on the top platform sort of doing it in slow motion while Grover sang) and like ngl i almost teared up a bit when thalia died

no procrustes :(( i know i’m listing thing after thing that they left out but like i understand why they did and i don’t think it suffered too badly!! like someone who hasn’t read the book would probs be a bit confused but in what they did have they were so spot-on that i really didn’t mind!

charon was reimagined as a cool beyonce-esque r&b singer, she was like “hey, y’all want a copy of my mixtape?” lol, also they sang this real fun and upbeat song welcoming to the underworld, like telling them about all the cool dead musicians they have (janis joplin, kurt cobain, and mozart all made cameos - annabeth was fangirling over mozart it was adorable!) and the trio was like “oh this is cool!!” until they realized they were about to die lol and charon started evil laughing it was great!

percy did almost get drawn into tartarus, that was cool bc a trap door opened and all this fog lit with red light started billowing out! also when annabeth was like “that’s tartarus!!” percy went “THE FISH SAUCE??” adorable

hades was great!! very sulky like, “why does everyone always think I’M the bad guy?? maybe it’s the decor” i loved it

also the lightning bolt itself was really nice-looking!! it was like described, a tube with metal caps, but it lit up really brightly as annabeth took it out from the backpack and it looked real cool!!

instead of the pearls they escaped the underworld with a conch shell that poseidon gave percy in a dream way back after he defeated the minotaur and he did have to leave sally which is sad every time :(

the final battle against ares was fun, that’s when percy sang his showstopper “son of poseidon” which was truly #lit. if/when they release the cast album that’s the one i’ll be playing on repeat and full blast. and he exploded the toilet paper ocean at ares and it was fun!

poseidon showed up then to take the bolt back to zeus and chat with percy, he was in his hawaiian shirt and looking real cool! and he got sally back and after she hugged percy real tight she saw poseidon and they had a heated moment of “you’re as beautiful as ever” “you’re as charming as ever” and then percy was like “OKAY THIS IS WEIRD” truly great!!

and they did include the final chat with luke about kronos! i was wondering if they’d cut that because it’s not like they can do a series of musicals (though if they did i’d go see every one) but they had it! plus they needed to tie up the loose end of percy being betrayed by a friend! and he stabbed percy in the lower back but was disarmed by annabeth go girl!! but he didn’t take long to recover hah because he was able to sing the badass closing number about being cool demigods and saving the world!!

anyway there’s much more that i forgot to mention but just know overall that it was amazingly true to the characters and the tone/world/humor/etc. of the books and i was almost giddy for the rest of the day because it was one of the most loving, fun, entertaining, and on-point adaptations of a book i’ve seen in any form. m*vies who?? i only know the musical!!

(1/3) I don't ever interact much on Tumblr, but I wanted - no, NEEDED - to express how much I adore your Saizo fics, and by extension your other SLBP drabbles. The epilogue to 'Stay' took my breath away. I am in awe at how perfectly you write Saizo, how easily you capture his voice. I squealed throughout every story because his affection and adoration for MC is so apparent yet subtle beneath your prose. 'Little One' is a personal fav for its tenderness, 'Stay' is a tour de force and...

AKoaDK, while hot, just amazes me for how loving the whole scenario is. Every fic you’ve written is just so on point with character, voice and detail that I wish you wrote for the app itself. If you don’t mind a question– do ideas for stories/drabbles come easily to you? And is the actual writing mostly a breeze or a struggle Regardless, please know that you’ve got a very eager fan who thinks you’re awesome and will read anything you write (especially if it’s Saizo 😍). Keep on doing what you do, girl. PS: for real THANK YOU for an amazing epilogue to ‘Stay’. My heart could not handle being broken into so many pieces with the original ending. Still loved it but everywhere hurt afterwards… 😭💖

I have read this like five times because it genuinely mademe tear up ;.; god I don’t have words. Thank you. I have so many feelings aboutSaizo in particular and about HIS feelings and I am so damn glad they are getting across because I wouldn’t have themif the original authors of the app weren’t so good at what they do and so if Ihave come in any way close to evoking the same thing I am thrilled. I AM ESPECIALLY happy to see you say that about AKoaDK becausethat’s how I feel too - I know it’s smut and I know it’s exciting and all thatbut it’s an expression of love and that’s so important. That’s the MOSTimportant. I’m a romantic sap y'all.That’s why I love SLBP so much. There’s so much depth and passion to play with,and it isn’t just the love story,it’s these rich and wonderful characters with rich and complex lives and their love in turn is rich and complex and layered with so much energy and so many moments and I justlove it, those moments, and I want to share my love of them and have MORE of them so I try and make them and knowing that I am doing so justsatisfies this craving in my heart and is the most satisfying and wonderful thing to hear ;.; SO YES. And for your question! They do and they don’t! Once I havean idea, the actual writing of it flies by. As often as not, it’s actually really hard to capture my thoughtsquickly enough, so I write out of order, because if I think of something I feel‘fits’ I have to quick scramble to write it down, and then I come back laterand figure out how everything connects. I tend to write ‘out’ from the center–90%of the time I have NO idea where I’m going with something. I have one, keycentral point, and I start there and it comes as I go and I hop chaotically aroundto whichever point pops into my head next. It seems to work for me? I call ‘emmy snowball moments. Like, with Waffle Cottage, it started as three-sentencething, and I posted it, and @mai-dreaming built on it, and the 'snowballmoment’ was imagining Shingen charming one of the princesses out of her dress,because that freed up the dress to go on the MC, and it exploded from there.And even then, to give an example, the Kenshin bits of the Waffle CottageChronicles were some of the last bits written, and Stay was written completely out of order, with bits addedback in on my first re-read when I noticed certain characters hadn’t appearedwho needed to, and I used them to reinforce ideas that were going to come laterthat I’d already written. I DID write it all at one time, in one long computer session, but just not in order. 99% of what I write is done in one fell swoop, MAYBE two because sometimes I have to go to work snrk. BUT it is also why I lean so heavily on @juniperotomewho is amazing and gives me legit and thorough feedback, recommendations and ideas and helps make my ramblings alittle more clear for an audience/reader who doesn’t have the benefit of beinginside my brain to know what I meant. She is an amazing editor and catches somany things and gives me so many key phrases and moments and helps me tone downand clarify things. NOT AN EASY TASK.

But, I have no discipline. If the inspiration isn’t there, I got nothing. I have twooutstanding fic requests from my giveaway months ago and trust me I sit overhere in SHAME because I want to write them, and I just need to sit down and doit, but I haven’t found my 'snowball moments’ to write out from yet. I keepevery prompt sent to me, because I am always hoping the snowball moment willhit, but I make zero progress untilit does and sometimes it takes awhile and sometimes it may not come. Whichreally means I just need to make some up and try them - the act of writinginspires more writing, which is what happens with some of my headcanon posts.If I start with the 'easy’ ones, the ones that are harder for me to write comea little more easily once I’m in writing mode. I have this ridiculous sense of obligation toinclude everyone once I’ve started XD but some are much easier than others; Istruggle with Yasu, in part because he IS one of my favorites, but you have topick like which one of him you’re writing, boy goes through a couple variations@.@ and I also struggle with Kojuro because he’s just too organized and calm,you can’t just randomly plonk into ridiculous shenanigans like you can withYukimura and, as established, I am impulsiveso characters that require planning don’t come as easily. I deal best inridiculousness.

I re-edit everything becauseI typically don’t re-read my shorter stuff until like a week after it’s posted,and then I edit like fifty things. I’ve already edited the Stay epilogue threetimes and I only posted it yesterday XD I wish I could just get it spot on thefirst time but I’m too impatient, but every time I re-read something I’m like'that phrase is ugly let’s fix it’ or 'I’m gonna add ALL the sentences here’ (Iam a comma and parenthesis abuser, I sprinkle them everywhere for decoration -I write like I talk) and that’s where my impatience in the typing babble stream comes back to haunt me.

I LOVE slice of life. I love the romance and everything too,but I love the idea of this world and these characters so I really enjoywriting all of the ridiculous little moments I imagine happen in their day-to-daylives. I think it makes them more real! Which is why I love things like AU Sasukebeing the first one up clamoring for pancakes and Shigezane cracking dad jokes whilehe and the MC hide in a in the enemy’s linen closet ('Man I really feel likewe’ve been hung out to dry, huh MC?Huh, huh?’) and Ieyasu on babysitting duty once Nobu procreates having conversations with this putrid,squalling creature who has just eaten his strawberries. I’m big on happyendings, too. I am glad my one foray into angst has been well received and I amtruly proud of that, but I invariably have to find some way to sneak some hopeinto all things XD
