What type of music would the counselors listen to?

I know some of my mutuals have answered this question before and I'm sure my headcanons will be influenced by theirs, AND I'm also significantly older than the counselors so they're probably listening to gen z stuff my late millennial ass doesn't even know about but here goes nothing!

Laura So much SIØBHAN! Just kidding. Laura feels like two completely different characters in the game so I have a hard time deciding what I think spunky but straight-laced, ‘this is my first cop,’ over-achieving pre-vet student Laura Kearney would listen to vs badass avenging murder spree Laura Kearney (but maybe she always had that inside her). Part of me wants to say, like, 80’s pop (Prince, Blondie, Tiffany, Michael Jackson, Pat Benetar, etc.) and part of me wants to put her in the hard rock/metal zone with Ryan. Maybe she’s a bit of both.

Max I believe it was Addie (@insertlovelyperson) who said Max would listen to country music where women murder their cheating or abusive husbands. That tracks to me. Maybe it's the use of Alma Cogan's version of 'Fly Me to the Moon' in the game, but I also tend to associate him with crooner type singers of the 40's and 50's (Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, etc), which is what I said he'd choose for karaoke. And because of this fanart I have no choice but to HC him as a major Ariana Grande fan, he's probably the one who chose the music for the drive to camp. So. Max has range.

Abi is the K-Pop/J-Pop stan to me but I know so little about that music beyond the crossover bands like BTS that I can't speak to it a whole lot. I think she'd also like some emo, pop-punk and moodier alt/pop. Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Melanie Martinez, Florence and the Machine, Metric, Lorde, Halsey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers/boygenius, etc. I feel like she's really into female fronted bands for some reason.

Jacob likes pretty much whatever is on the radio. He's a top 40 guy and has no shame about his enjoyment of Ed Sheeran and Justin Beiber, or about ugly crying to Taylor Swift and Coldplay. He rarely listens closely to the actual lyrics (and often gets them humorously wrong), he just goes on vibes. He discovers half the music he listens to via TikTok (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Emma is a theater kid through and through and loves broadway musicals. She goes through phases with each popular one. She's had a Waitress phase, a Mamma Mia phase, a Wicked phase, and a Hamilton phase, of course, and now she's into Mean Girls, Heathers, and Hadestown. Beyond that, I think she'd be a dedicated Swiftie, big Adele fan, and a lover of Britney Spears's entire body of work from the 90's through today.

Nick probably listens to stoner bro music. Like jam bands and psychedelic rock and stuff. He probably likes Dave Matthews Band and the Grateful Dead/Dark Star Orchestra, Sublime, Widespread Panic, Tame Impala, and O.A.R. Googling jam bands to remind myself which ones exist led me to the knowledge that there's an Australian psychedelic rock band called King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and that name is so bonkers that I've decided without listening to more than a few bars that it has to be Nick's favorite band.

Ryan is a little bit emo and a little bit goth and a little bit old school punk. He needs music that's loud and moody to help sort out his feelings about life and drown out all the excess noise inside his head. He's into metal, the harder side of emo/screamo, goth rock, hard rock, punk, and post-punk. He definitely listens to Nightwish, GOJIRA, Mastodon, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Thursday, Alkaline Trio, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Bad Religion, Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Misfits, Ramones, etc. He doesn't hate more accessible pop and rock music, but the closest he gets to choosing it for himself is probably something like The Cure or The Smashing Pumpkins or Depeche Mode, maybe some of the creepier Weeknd songs and Muse tracks too heavy to go on the Twilight soundtracks. He and Abi listen to Babymetal together.

Kaitlyn classic rock and 90's alternative. This girl likes the Stones more than the Beatles, though she'll listen to both. Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Black Sabbath, the occasional hair band. She especially loves the 90's girl rockers like Alanis Morisette, Garbage, Hole, Veruca Salt, and No Doubt (Kaitlyn can't believe Gwen Stefani is married to pop-country dork Blake Shelton who sings that song about being your honey bee, because Gwen used to be so cool [I'm definitely not projecting]). I feel like she'd also love Bikini Kill and Sleater Kinney, Le Tigre, and The Donnas.

Dylan is the Music Guy ™ (and my personal bias/url namesake), so I've admittedly thought about his musical tastes more than most of the others'. The official Quarry website mentions his 'deep musical knowledge' and I imagine he has pretty broad views on what constitutes good music. He's got kind of a vintage vibe to him, maybe it's the reproduction band shirt from 1988, or the fact that he's into analog technology, or both, but I've noticed he's often depicted playing Queen or Bowie or something of that era in fics, which I think is realistic. This kid goes to the used record store and just buys whatever looks cool.

Fun Fact: According to the datamine, the chapters originally had literary or musical quotes at the beginning of each, and Chapter 5: White Noise (the radio hut chapter) was originally headed by the opening lyrics from Queen's 'Radio Ga Ga':

He's also the only character we see play music in canon, so we know he likes... songs from random compilation albums with inexpensive royalties. XD Just kidding, but these are the diegetic (in-universe) songs we get to hear from Dylan's playlist at the bonfire party:

All pop music of varying subtypes, so we know he appreciates a well-crafted pop song. I honestly am a fan of all of these. I think Dylan genuinely listens to everything but he seems like the type to especially like alt and indie pop, classic rock, garage rock, a bit of the more melodic side of punk, emo, and pop-punk, new wave, synth pop, electronic, and a little bit of hip hop that’s sufficiently nerdy white boy friendly (probably Beastie Boys, Run the Jewels, Post Malone, emo rap like Blackbear, etc). I also tend to gravitate towards early-mid aughts indie for him, like MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, OK Go, LCD Soundsystem, etc. Just seems to match his vibe. I think he'd really like BØRNS, Hozier, COIN, Mitski, and K.Flay and probably have a fair amount of overlap with Ryan's more melodic picks (MCR, Muse, The Cure, etc). Dylan probably hates Morrissey but begrudgingly loves The Smiths and definitely cranks up The Killers in his car. He’s also listening to bands right now that you’ve never heard of but will be huge in a couple years. He can probably tell you the difference between subgenres like chillwave, dream pop, and shoegaze but don’t ask me about it because I have no fucking clue.

Since we’re on the subject, here’s my absurdly long and ever-growing Rylan/Radioheads playlist because I have a problem.

And my Sweet Summer Jams playlist, that’s just a bunch of random songs I think would be clean enough to play at a summer camp as long as the kids/your boss don’t ask too many questions.

The rumours were part of the job. Part of the job description is being a celebrity, and in many ways, it could both help and hinder you - especially if you were a woman. On the one hand, it could boost your career; on another, it could sink it faster than the Titanic. Y/N L/N, an influential rapper and singer, knew all too well the impact of having baseless rumours thrown at you. Her name was attached to everyone and anyone (at some point or another) with no rhyme, reason or proof. So it made sense that she chose to ignore most of them and focus on herself and her private life.

Yes, her private life was why everyone speculated, as people wondered who had stolen her heart. The rapper had stated that she was in a relationship multiple times but refused to specify with who as she wished for the relationship to remain private. But you know, the internet, they can't keep their noses out of other people's business. So naturally, the witch hunt began, and Twitter went up in flames every other day, trying to figure out who had captured the up-and-coming star's heart. No name was off-limits.

In the beginning, Y/N found all the hilarious speculation amusing, laughing about it with her friends (who were said to be possible love interests), but after a while, it started to get on her nerves. People were relentlessly holding on to the topic like a dog with a chew toy, and after six months and a discussion with her lover, she finally decided to put the rumours to rest - in style.

"Are you sure?" the rapper's close friend and manager Monica asked for the nth time of the night as they stood backstage. "I'm positive Mon. I've talked with Ky about it, and he agreed," the couple agreed they were going to reveal their relationship on one of the most important dates of the music calendar, the 67th Grammy Awards. But in a far more creative way than most normally would. As they say, nothing conveys emotions better than music.

"Now, welcome to the stage for her first-ever grammy performance Y/N L/N!" stepping out on stage, the air was heavy with tension as the crowd of fans and other music alumni were eager to see the artist who had been nominated for 5 Grammys preform. The lights dimmed, and the backup dancers got into their positions as the backtrack began to play.

"I never fucked Giroud. I never fucked Neymar. On my life, man, Fuck's sake. If I did, I'd menage with 'em, And let's eat my ass like a cupcake. The audience was shocked at the freestyle rap, and the camera panned to the faces of other celebs to get their shocked reaction. The most notable one was that of the queen bee herself Beyoncé as she nodded in approval and bopped to the beat, while another memorable response was that of one of her best friends, Doja Cat, as she was losing it with laughter.

The freestyle then segued into her Grammy-nominated song Woman, as the flawless choreography and unforgettable spotlight moments made it one of the night's best performances. It ended in thunderous applause and multiple viral moments. As she walked backstage after the successful performance, she wiped off the thin layer of sweat from her forehead. She opened her phone to find it crowded with thousands of notifications, but the only ones she was only interested in were those from the love of her life - Kylian Mbappe.

Another thing you should know about being a celebrity because it makes you an awfully good liar. Now there was no sinister intent behind Y/N lying to Kylian. The rapper just wanted to surprise him, so as she pulled into the new PSG training centre, she kept a relatively low profile as the new owner of five Grammys did not want to attract any unwanted attention. Walking to the reception, she was greeted by one of the coaching assistants and a few cameras. She had let them in on her plan to surprise her boyfriend, and in return for their help, they would get a video for their youtube channel.

As they walked towards the outdoor training area where the first team where hard at work, sure, they all looked hot, but Kylian was miles more than the others. Hot and sweaty, looking like some sex god rather than a Ligue 1 player. The number seven played a round of Tika taka with Neymar, Messi, Ramos, Hakimi and Veratti. He was oblivious to what was happening as Y/N slowly crept up behind him - placing a finger over your lips to tell his teammates to keep quiet after they noticed your presents.

"Great man, I mean, god, she's perfect. I know it's a bit early to say, but I can see myself marrying her." safe to say everyone's hearts melted at the French player as he gushed over his girlfriend. Tried to hide, Y/N embraced her boyfriend in a hug from behind. "I love you too, Ky."

Turning around in shock, safe to say, Mbappe's eyes were larger than a football as he spun his girl in the air before kissing her. "What are you doing here? I thought you had work." the football star asked with nothing but love and affection as he buried his head in the crook of her neck. "I missed you. And I wanted to surprise you. Also, I lied." the rapper said, giggling at the look on his face. "Why you, little" With that, Kylian threw her over his shoulder and ran off with her as she screamed in fear and begged to be put down. Kylian refused.

As everyone watched the reunited couple get lost in their world, they couldn't help but smile at how happy the two made each other. "They are gonna get married," Ramos said, taking a sip of his water. "And I will be Kylian's best man," Neymar said jokingly. "Hate to break it to you, brother, but as long as I live and breath, that position is not available", Hakimi chimed in bluntly.

That said, I feel the need to address a couple of things that have been making the rounds in JKK blogs.

Yes, stupid y/n anons and their shit asks all being smug and confident about absolutely nothing they actually know. And I wouldn't entertain this shit, but I do want to make a couple of points here and this is a great opportunity to do so.

Let's start with the rumour, yes, it's a rumour and not confirmed even if in their asks they say it is, that the song is about sex. I mean, I could make the assumption that having 2 versions of it could mean that.

Although explicit can mean use of swear words, you do know that? But let's run with it being explicit as in all about sex. 7 days a week of invigorating, blood boiling (in a good way), juices running, sex having. Let's just say it's about that.

Does that mean it's straight sex? Cause I can assure you that our y/n anons have definitley not gotten their hands on the lyrics, have not seen them or read them or heard the song. So, let's scratch that assumption, why don't we?

I would actually like to teach the anons a lesson in life, maybe something they don't know yet, perhaps due to ignorance and immaturity, but hey, here's a little wittle secret... queer people, you know, gay, lesbian, bi, etc., they do have sex, with each other (yeah not each other each other, you know what I mean, lol), A LOT, all the time, sometimes, gasp, 7 days a week.

Mind blowing, right?

So I guess we established that a song about sex does not necessarily mean a song about straight sex.

Moving on.

2 translations. From both we learn that this IS NOT a song that JK wrote. This is a song he was given to record, a song he listened to, liked and decided to do.

This is super important. Because this is what makes the difference between a song being personal, having a personal meaning, something he wrote and created, and we know that JK writes about his personal experiences, and a song that is not personal, a nice song he liked and wanted to record. Not that unsimilar to many of his covers or songs he likes to sing when he's doing karaoke.

And perhaps this is also why it's being released as a single and maybe not part of his solo album? Although it could be on the album, but I kind of feel that for a first solo album, he would want to do more personal. Maybe that's also why he told us the album is not done and this is something totally separate. Who knows. What we do know though, is that this was not a song he wrote.

Anyway, this is important, because this song will be JK as a performer more so than a creator, if you get where I'm going here. The song is not a personal creation or envision of himself in real life. It's him singing, as an artist, a song that someone else wrote. People sometimes forget that as artists not everything you sing about or act or write is personal or about yourself or your life or your experiences. We know, from JK, that when he writes he does take from his own life experiences, his writing is very personal, but in this case this isn't a song he wrote, and I know I'm repeating myself here, but this is very important to understand and remember.

Ok, moving on to the MV and the claims, again rumour based, of Sohee being in it.

Let's establish a couple of baselines here shall we?

First of all anons did not see the MV so they have zero clue who's in it and what it's about. Every word they spew with regards to that MV is one big hot y/n assumption based on unsubstantiated rumours.

Second, as mentioned, we don't know who is in this and what it's about.

Now let's play around a little, make this a fun guessing game of what ifs and so whats, lol.

What if Sohee is in the MV? Ok, what if? I think the anons need to go look up who Hun Sohee is and what's been the talk surrounding her (cough queer cough) before rejoicing that she might be in JK's MV.

Btw, clear example of a very possibly queer actress acting in straight rolls. And if you want to go the other side of this, flip the coin and assume she's straight, well you will get a straight actress who has acted in a queer movie. Either way works for me to prove the point.

What if the song is about sex? I guess we kind of discussed this before, didn't we?

Now let's add the two together.

What if the song is about sex and Hun Sohee is in it? To that I will add a question to the anon/s that most definitley have not seen the MV as of yet and will be happily (or maybe not too happily) be watching it with us on the 14th of July 2023, Silver day, at 13:00 KST: What if the MV is filled with sex, all kind of sex, straight sex, queer sex, upside down or inside out sex, (whatever your fancy as long as you are a consenting adult)? What if JK is singing about sex and the MV is about sex, a whole lot of it, with a whole lot of it going around him, and not all of it is straight? You know, just like Troye Sivan's MVs. That would be a very interesting what if. Can't wait to hear their answer to that one.

Oh, and here's the kicker what if.

What if it's none of the above?

What if all of this is a load of bull rumours and Sohee has nothing to do with the MV (she was in LA for a fashion event), and there is no sexual content in the MV, and it's all about the listener using their own imagination? What if?

I guess we will ALL just have to wait and see.

I will tell you this though. Whatever Koo does, I trust him. Y/ns will always assume what they want to. I don't believe that he will intentionally play into it. This man is not straight. Period. He is a smart young man, who has been telling us for years now who he is as a person, and he will not backtrack on that just to fulfill the y/ns dreams about him because that's what the company might want. So whatever he does might get their juices running (let's be honest, not might, more like will), but it will be done in a way that allows for interpretation. This is of course an opinion and nothing more, but hopefully one that will prove itself right.

A Letter to the Me I Was Four Years Ago Today

Hey Dakota,

Or, perhaps, I should address you as *****. I don't think we were Dakota quite yet.

In a few weeks, your whole life is gonna change. Okay, maybe a bit hyperbolic compared to the situations other people are also about to experience. But, take your time and enjoy today.

Its leap day, an extra day to do something, so take advantage of this supposedly "extra day of magic." I know you worked hard to get your homework under control so we could see the new Magic Happens parade on its opening weekend.

I remember the joy of getting to text our good friend "Happy birthday" on their actual birthday and not figure out if I should text them on the 28th or the 1st. The anticipation of waiting in a crowd of people to see this new parade, which could possibly run for the next decade like its predecessor. And sharing the specialty sundae at Gibson Girl and some of the dishes at this year's Food and Wine Festival with Dad. That chicken in a waffle taco was so good.

Smile and take your mind off of the pile of work you know you still have waiting at home, the APs you should be studying for, not to mention your upcoming SAT. That Coco float is more beautiful than anything you could have imagined and the Moana float is just beautiful.

You don't know it, but this will be your last trip to Disneyland as an annual passholder, or really your last normal day off for a while. In two weeks the world's gonna shut down, and no amount of optimism we try to muster will keep that initial two weeks as two weeks. But before that, take my advice, you should definitely apply to that Life is Strange fanzine you saw on Twitter. Then, you'll finally know who Dakota is. Also, what took you so long to start writing for you? I know junior year of high school is not known for students having a lot any free time, but if this is what you wanna do for the rest of your life, you gotta start sooner than later. And hey, call me a hypocrite, I know I'm still trying to find a good work/life balance. But we're getting to use our free time in a way that makes us happy and productive. Just keep writing.

Over the next four, really two, years, you're gonna lose contact with a lot of friends. But the two who you do stay in contact with, let's just say you wouldn't wanna be (occasionally) texting with anyone else. They are gonna make you feel safe to be yourself and introduce you to some future obsessions. One of them will be the inspiration for the first piece you write truly for you and for fun. And they're gonna be so supportive when you tell them about what you've been up to/asking their help for.

There's gonna be a lot of rough nights and disappointments before you graduate. And the decision of what to do about college, let those tears fall. There's no need to keep holding those emotions in. It's a tough choice and while I'm still in the middle of it, who's to say I made the right decision. But, I can tell you this, you are gonna be so much happier when you start college. Maybe it's not the experience your sibling had or you dreamed of, but you are gonna fall in love with a whole new city with so much to do (and so little time!). And not to be narcissistic, but I know how proud you would be to see all the things I've done so far in my coursework.

Keep listening to that voice telling you to go for it. You're gonna start writing for some of your favorite fandoms (including ones that you'll meet down the line - I'm so excited for you to watch BD and TS for the first time). Then you're gonna join Tumblr, then AO3, and who knows what's next. Some incredibly sweet people will interact with the things you made (yes, you!) and you'll be introduced to so many talented writers and artists on here! Literally, every day I come across multiple fanarts and fics that I can't help but stare at cause they are sooo good!

I know I skipped over a lot of exciting (and not so exciting) things, but that's for you to discover and enjoy in the moment. Enjoy this moment of happiness, and don't let yourself get too consumed with all the things out of your control. I think the parade is just about to start over at It's a Small World. Take care. read your TS post and honestly just find it quite interesting that so many things you criticize when it comes to bts whether some members as people or artists...are all present in TS if not even more, and suddenly when it comes to this white woman that is an awful performer, write the same kind of dull repetitive music always clutching at the same topics, doesn't renew herself as an artist, is full of white feminism bullshit, and a chart obsessed person are all things you never seem to mention. Like the biased perspective when it comes to her is quiet something by all her fans.

Because I don't discuss Taylor Swift in this blog. This isn't a freaking Taylor Swift blog.

And also, because I don't care. She never promised anyone anything, she never set herself up as a role model or beacon for social injustices like BTS did. Taylor fans either aren't running up and down every known platform screaming how much of an activist she is the way armys do with BTS. Taylor isn't called BulletproofGirlz and her fans aren't called Adorable Representative M.C. For Youth. She never went from being Yes I'm the voice of the underdogs and the misunderstood to it being just a concept and god forsaken debut name.

You sound insufferable so I won't really reply to more than this and I won't look for the post myself, but there's actually a post where I make fun and criticize armys who were "disappointed" in BTS because they said something misogynistic or homophobic. I actually think it's on the verge of IDIOTIC to look for artists to stan/like only so you can bring up their "good deeds" and make yourself feel better. Because you're literally the only one cares about this online moral competition.

In that same post I said I don't care that BTS don't speak on feminism because they're not women, and because I have real people, local heroes to look up to.

In fact, the only time I ever mentioned being slightly disappointed that they didn't use a gay couple, was on the permission to dance MV. If anything, most if not all my posts are actually making fun of armys for believing BTS to be, and talking about them as if they were the biggest activists that ever lived. I don't even talk about them, I talk about the perception army has of them.

And if you're that Beyonce fan, let's not even go there. Link me to Beyonce's many acts supporting feminism. Representation is not enough, I mean donations or posts calling awareness to women's isuess. She doesn't write her own music, either, which is something I have repeatedly seen seen pjms/hive call out vkook for.

Also another thing Taylor never claimed to be: a performer. Everybody knows she's not a performer. She knows she's not a performer. She never promised people anything, so why would I expect her to put on a show? Why would I feel cheated and robbed if I went to her concert and she didn't do full choreography when I know she never did?

I don't think she's a bad songwriter at all, and even the moments when she is (because there are songs I don't like and songs I never listen to), I'm okay with it, too. I'm not a fan of people only to say "look at me I'm a fan of this person that makes me so much better than all of you". I've always liked her songs, and I still like them and I do think they're good. If you don't think so, I really don't give a fuck.. like seriously.

You know what, if you wouldn't have had the need to just argue for the sake or arguing, you would've seen me post an ask I have on drafts about her album where I specifically mention that I agree her sound is stale in this album. Because I do like people a lot and still have my own personality and opinions.

I've always liked her for her music, and I still like her music. If I criticize BTS is for things they used to do, but stopped doing. It's about things they used to be, but stopped being. If someone goes from making good music, to doing music I think it's terrible of course I'm going to have an opinion. I love Harry Styles' first two albums but think as it was is ugly and the whole album is terribly wrong - and I've said it. Like two tweeks ago I was here, sharing old BTS songs because I still think those songs are good. Why am I not allowed to say that at some point they started making bad music? I thought Jimin crying in MOTS concert online was kind of silly considering he was paying million dollars for rent at that time while many people were out of jobs. I can empathize with him and it was sad to see him cry because I'd been rooting for him to go on tour and do everything he wanted to do, because I like Jimin as a person and an artist - so I'm simply rooting for him. I can feel all that while simultaneously being aware of how privileged he was, and still is. And that his pain was bad, but when put in the context of the pandemic, his life wasn't on the line. Jimin himself said in an interview that he was thinking about how young he is and how much money he's earning and what to do with it. Not in an obnoxious, arrogant way but as a form of self-reflection. I respect that. He knows that he's got more money than the regular person, but he also goes through hard times mentally.

Jimin donates so much money every year and has been doing it for a long time - I think that's amazing and I share the posts that report on it because I really believe it's awesome and It's exactly what I would do if I had the money. I was particularly moved when he donated money to buy polio vaccines.

But I'm not asking him to do any of it. I'm not waking up every other thinking "I hope Jimin does some charity today so I can yap about it to losers on tumblr." It's simply not something I think about Jimin or ANYONE. If he does, it's good. If he doesn't, I'll still like him.

I bring this up to repeat something I've said about Jimin and BTS a million times: I don't pity them.

I don't pity Taylor either and I'm not asking anything from her.

Likewise, I'm able to read the lyrics "you wouldn't last a day in the asylum where they raised me" and know that it's just a lyric and giggle at the memes that make fun of that because she's lived a fairly awesome life. That's songwriting to you, btw. Not everything is literal.

I've never been interested in Taylor Swift's life, and I've spent literal years not knowing one single thing about it, but if she said "new music this friday" you bet I was going to be there, waiting for it. Same goes for Harry Styles and so many other people I listen to. And I've talked a dozen times about how I'm hoping it'll get to the point where I'll be able to be that kind of Jimin fan, as well. Where I don't care what he does or where he is, but I'll still be always curious to hear his new music.

i don’t have a favourite album just yet but i love the black parade (it’s the album i started with), three cheers, danger days, and even though whether it counts as one of their albums is a little unclear from what i’ve seen, i absolutely love conventional weapons! bullets is the album that is probably most different to what i’m used to, but the songs have been growing on me and i’ve started to love it more.

i have not gotten the chance to get into much of the lore yet! i’ve seen bits of the black parade stuff and a mention of the demolition lovers but not much more than that. i’ve been a little hesitant to reach out to anyone to ask about the mcr lore because there’s just so much that i’m a little intimidated and don’t know where to begin 😅

oooh hell yes the black parade is what a lot of people would consider to be their magnum opus, i adore it--if you haven't already, please check out the black parade live in mexico! something about their live performances is just soo visceral and exciting and it almost makes their studio versions pale in comparison, esp when it comes to this album! seeing them live last september was genuinely actually life changing. my personal fav is three cheers, but there's a mcr album for every mood <3

also, yeah, cw isn't reeeally an album, even if people basically group the songs together like one. in short, what happened during the making of the black parade was really sad, like the band moved to a haunted mansion, mikey had a crazy mental breakdown, etc, and gerard was like so incredibly into the concept of the album that it took. Everything out of him? and like all artists do, he had that moment where he was like, well, i don't want to need to hurt myself irreparably to make art. so the goal for the next album was to just play it straight--no high concept, just pure fucking rock. and they tried a bunch of things that led to cw! but ultimately they couldn't make their sound work as A My Chemical Romance Album, no matter how they sliced it, and also there was some talk that the boys were getting tired of each other. danger days came out of the ashes of conventional weapons, which you can hear musically, and it's very cool! but so like there was a huge gap between the end of tbp and dd and people didn't know what happened in the interim until after the band broke up and released cw.

bullets is SO beloved--like you say, it's the most sonically different! part of that is the sound production quality (they recorded in a friend's basement studio under an indie record label called eyeball records, got signed to reprise after) and they had a shit drummer nicknamed otter (who thankfully got sacked before three cheers), and the boys were ohhh so very new to all of this. another part is That Was The Scene, they were raised on new jersey rock legends like the misfits, thursday was (and still is) super popular, etc. it's crazy though like, ray was going to try and get into the film industry! gerard had been interning at cartoon network! frank was trying to make it with his own band called pencey prep (he didn't join until may 30 2002)!

it's a very romantic album i think, a time capsule of the era for sure. gerard was suffering from crazy tooth pain and had to get punched in the face to stop bitching about it. frank wasn't even in the band and he hung around the studio smoking and napping on the couch. they didn't sell their CDs, they just gave them out to try and spread the word. they were piss drunk for their first ever show because they were so goddamn nervous. there's a lot of extra context that i think makes the album more accessible! but also if u keep an open mind and listen to bullets just as it is, and let all the melodies and themes wash over you, listen to the lyrics, you might find yourself loving it :)

for more info: i would absolutely recommend starting with life on the murder scene for a glorified summary of their time starting out and during the recording of three cheers! and for a full fairytale kinda rundown for their time in the band, tom bryant's true lives is like the beginner's bible. they'll give u a sense of who the band is! the lore and the ~characterizations~ given to them from those two sources have stayed to this day. but then yknow, you get deeper into it and you find that some things are kinda handwaved for the sake of story and you end up obsessed with whatever happened in 2007, and ugh. anyway! lots of levels to this. but def start out with those!

I'm conflited about this whole thing. I believe she's been planning this collab for awhile but the fling with MH is still makes me unconfortable and upset with taylor. I think she'll get her number 1 and she doesn't need my support but i won't stick around for this one, sadly

I want to start this by apologising for taking so long to answer it. I always try to answer asks as they come in, but have been preparing for or in legal meetings most the day and wanted to give you respect by giving any response I have to this my full attention rather than a quick 'agreed' and that's it.

I definitely do agree with you that the Ice Spice remix specifically has me very conflicted, and have mentioned so here, on other social media I'm on and to my friends. And it's rough because there's a lot of nuance here.

Like on the one hand I do not want to take away any agency that Ice Spice has because she has every right to say yes to this collaboration, and as someone who hasn't listened to her music, I'm excited for her to get her name out there with such a big opportunity.

But there's always going to be a little voice in the back of my mind that's praying that this is still what she wants and she doesn't feel like she had to be silent at risk of losing opportunities or, given this collaboration seemed to have happened pre Taylor and Matty getting together, feeling like she signed up for something different than what she actually did. Now I want to make it clear that this is not me being like "Taylor is a heinous witch who is silencing Ice Spice", but we've heard from just about every artist in the industry over the years about how the industry is very good at coercing decisions and silencing clients, even in situations where career based anxiety is the main barrier. And I hate to say it, but given how Swifties have dealt with Taylor's missteps in terms of race issues over the years, but I cannot see a situation where Ice Spice says anything less than positive about this without getting mountains of hate.

I've heard a lot of people say that they think this is all a PR stunt to make Matty look good. While I unfortunately think it will have the added benefit of that, given how long this has been in the works for, I don't think that was the initial intention. But in some ways, that makes it worse for me. Like again, if Ice Spice is fine with all of this that is the main thing, but I just cannot imagine being in Taylor's shoes and respecting someone enough to asked them to collaborate just to date someone who did what Matty did to Ice Spice, especially so soon after, and I also cannot imagine being in Ice Spice's situation and not feeling uncomfortable at the circumstances this collaboration is now being released under. Like at least if Matty and Taylor had been a thing before the collaboration, I could feel more sure that Ice Spice was definitely down for all of this in context.

Ultimately though I've never been one for Taylor's remixes anyway so like you said, I'm happy enough to sit this one out or give it one listen and that's it, especially because I'm barely listening to Taylor's stuff atm (mostly just tuning in for the tour surprise songs each week and that's it).

As for the more generalised two extra versions stuff, I've always made it clear that I hate the idea of deluxe CDs that are sold after/aren't available at the time of the album's release date, but like that's just capitalism. Most artists do it and I don't have specific thoughts on it past the fact that I'm not gonna buy the new versions lmao. I do find it kinda weird that she's only selling it at her show for now but I imagine they just didn't get them mass produced in time and eventually it'll be sold in at least her store if not all stores and be put online. And I know people are clowning about Glitch and Paris not being on the CD, but I imagine she wanted to limit it to one disc and they were the least streamed songs. So yeah again, no specific thoughts negative or positive about that side of things.

When it comes to Taylor in general at the moment, I'm still very much in the process of figuring out how and if I want to go forward being a fan of hers. I've mentioned a few times that people of colour who I love have been threatened and attacked throughout this process and more and more tiktoks and posts are coming out to show that this is more universal than it should be and than I originally thought. Because of that, this is unlike anything I feel like I've been through in this fandom and has made me feel the most negative I ever have about Taylor, which anyone who was here in 2015/early 2016 will tell you, is saying something. I'm not going to go over all the ways I feel hurt and have changed how I engage in Taylor's content + feel like I'm here more for the community we've built than for her again, because tbh not only do I feel like I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but as a white person, I don't feel like my voice should be the loudest or most ongoing seeing as a lot of the talk about him has been in regards to the comments on race he's participated in and the ways that Taylor's fans of colour have felt let down over the years. In all honesty, I've only really felt okay to take up the space I have because fans of colour have impressed onto white fans that they want us to in this instance. But yeah I will just leave it with reiterating another ask I answered a few days back that overall, even if I ever do go back to being as big a fan as I was at the start of the year, it's going to take a very long time and a lot of healing to say the least.

omg! an ask that gives me the opportunity to talk about one of my favourite artists of all time?? of fucking course!

i think what i love most about passenger is the sort of very castles vibes of his work. by which i mean, some of his songs are dark, and hard, but there's always light at the end of the tunnel, you know? and there's some really upbeat and funny ones as well. there's this idea that resonates through his work that life is shit sometimes but, as he says it himself, life's for the living, so live it. i think that's always very much resonated with me, my writing, and also my general outlook on life, and i just relate to that so much. also, as i said in the ask you mention, his storytelling skills are just unbelievable. i love that he doesn't just write songs to sit in his feels and mop, that he tells us stories of other people, too. and he paints these very vivid pictures of people and situations in minutes, and honestly, i don't think his work is celebrated enough. i was supposed to see him live in march 2021, then it got postponed in august during my holidays and i couldn't go and honestly i'm still devastated. he does tour a lot though, so i'm hoping he comes back soon.

anyway, having said that, onto your questions!

favourite album: man, that is so hard. i feel like passenger is the opposite of my other favourite artist, lily allen, who releases one album every ten years but on which every song on it is a banger. i feel like passenger releases two albums a year and is like: "here, songs! pick ones you like." some of them kind of sound the same, and they're not all always remarkable, but that's fine as well, you know? honestly, i'm such a fan of his work and yet even i feel like he has so many songs i don't even know all of them lol! so yes, not every song on every album is amazing, but that's kind of okay? i think if i had to pick one, i'd probably pick Whispers, i think it's the album that has the most faves. but i also really loved Patchwork.

favourite songs: okay, this was So Hard. i wanted to get it down to a top ten but i just couldn't so here is a top thirteen in alphabetical order, lol.

27 - this is the song version of "i'm 27 years old, i have no money, no prospects, and i'm already a burden to my parents," but in a more "upbeat" tone. i'm nearing 30 now but this one just still resonates soooo much. it's fun and cheery and millenial-y and i love it to bits.

birds that flew and ships that sailed - this is one from one of the most recent albums that i just love so much. it gives me actual chills whenever i listen to it. the melancholy and the lyrics are just heartbreaking and just gorgeous. it's a sad song, yes, but a beautiful one.

the boy who cried wolf - this song is just one of those storytelling songs of his i absolutely adore. it's just a story about the urban legend of the boy who cried wolf but it makes you sympathise with him So Much. the song is just so wonderfully and cleverly done - i adore this song. so inspiring as a writer.

bullets - this is hands down one of my top 10 favourite songs in the world. a bit like the above in terms of storytelling but just - breath-taking. also, whenever i write that aoife standalone fic/story from the fault in faulty manufacturing, it will be called all the bullets in the ground after that song.

catch in the dark - another one of my all time favourite songs. the friends-to-nothing KILLS me in this. and again, the way he just tells you a full story in three minutes with so much "character" building is nuts. also, i know when you asked about ships, you probably meant HP but this gives me such strong martha/clive vibes from silk i just. god, my heart.

golden leaves - this used to be my favourite song. as in, like, full stop, favourite song of all time ever from anyone. it will never not make me cry. the strings on this. the melancholy. the adult breakup vibes. the desperation. the lyrics. i mean: now, my dear we are two golden leaves, clinging desperately to winter trees. 😭. i don't know if it's still my favourite song cause i think i'm less #sad now (lol) but to this day i just love it so much. one of my absolute faves.

hell or highwater - oh god. very similar vibes to the one above, almost equally as beautiful. gives me a bit of harry/ginny vibes in castles. a bit. but it's just such a gorgeous love/break up song. also such a good title 😭.

holes - as i explained here i just adore this song. it's another storytelling one and it's soooo good. as i said, "the wolf's just a puppy" quote is one of my favourite quotes of all time. love, love, love this one.

i hate - okay. i know. it's a bit mean but also fucking deep and kinda hilarious 🤣. it will never not make me laugh. i hate stepping out for a smoke and some guy coughs - that your lungs or his? also, the unspeakable thing about cher's face. i hate to say it but... it's true!!

riding to new york - another storytelling one which, honestly, two things about this song: 1) the lyrics. 2) the poetry. as someone who had a lot of issues and went no contact with my father before he passed away, there are ways in which this line: "now my time is short, i want to see my daughter, tell her i'm sorry for the things i taught her," hits that i honestly don't even want to speak about. but on another note, i also love the way passenger writes america. he's actually a dual citizen (his father is american) and i love the way he writes the sort of vibes and landscape and life there. it's both the words of someone who clearly knows the country very well, but also those of an outsider. the runaway album had a lot of that and i really loved it.

rosie - awww. this song just makes me go "awww". it's a lullaby for his cat. how could anyone not love a man who writes a lullaby for his cat because it's scared of storms?

sword from the stone - this is the only pandemic song i will ever consent to listen to. oh. my. god. he released this one, then p!nk released her bizarre cover me in sunshine and honestly no shade to p!nk (i actually love her) but there's songwriting and SongWriting. this song just rips my heart apart every time i hear it. i mean: both the cats say hi, i know they miss you too. jesus christ. the number of times i have listened to this on loop, i swear to god. this also gives me castles vibes.

young as the morning, old as the sea - as someone who's travelled quite a bit and moved around, this is just #vibes. i love the way passenger writes about travelling and hostels and people. this song is just everything.

Current Thing

Since I follow some artist and art-related blogs, I've been seeing a lot of people up in arms about AI art. And, well, meh, frankly. There's a lot of takes from a lot of folks and most of them seem indignant but also... not exactly coherent. On occasion I've felt the urge to Say Something but I don't feel strongly enough about it to actually have an argument on someone else's thread; I'll say things here in my own post out here in the wasteland so it'll be sure to be ignored.

First off, can I say that it's kind of rich to be listening to people gripe about the ethics of AI art when some of these same people are gleefully defending content piracy of some sort... Really? I've heard astounding justifications about how it's perfectly reasonable to pirate anything from Disney movies to indie comics and music, but when the AI takes a chunk from one of your works, well, that's going too far, mister! Honestly, I just can't take these arguments seriously when that kind of double standard rears its head.

I also don't treat the argument with a lot of respect when it comes from artists who make fanart of other people's established characters. Yes, I know, it's a well-established practice and most property holders kind of look the other way, but in the end, if you're drawing Princess Peach and you don't have Nintendo's express permission to do so, that's a violation of their rights every bit as much as what some AI might do with your art. So how many artists complaining about AI have truly clean hands of their own?

But setting that aside, there's a certain confusion about what qualifies as "ethics" in this case. Mostly, people are claiming ethical concerns over things they just don't like rather than any workable principles - not to mention what is and isn't permissible in a legal sense.

What is legal and what is ethical are not always synonymous, it's true, but I think it's worth looking at what's allowed and why before pulling judgement on an entire method of content creation. And here is where I put a break, because we'll be getting into a long string of details.

In US copyright law, there's things that can be copyrighted, and things that can't. You can't copyright ideas, and you can't copyright style. What you can copyright is the specific expression of those ideas, so while you can't copyright an idea like "big strong dude who can fly goes around fighting injustice", you can copyright the story of Superman. (You can also trademark the distinctive elements of Superman, but that's more of a business issue.)

The other thing about copyright law is that it's not absolute. It allows for a certain amount of use of material without requiring permission from the copyright holder. (Generally called the Fair Use clause.) These uses include critique and parody - you have to be able to reference something to analyze it, and to make fun of a thing, your work has to resemble the thing it makes fun of. Weird Al, for example, legally does not need to seek permission from the original artists to parody their songs, though it's well-known that he usually does.

This exception isn't limited to critique or parody. Works that incorporate collage, for example, can often get by without having to compensate the owners of each scrap of material that is included.

But this doesn't necessarily mean that you can reproduce the entirety of someone else's work and then claim "Fair Use" and not get sued. In practice, how it operates is: if you use someone's work, and they sue you, you have to go to court and say, "yes, I used this work, but it's okay because reasons", and then a judge or jury decides whether those reasons qualify as Fair Use. Legally, this is called an affirmative defense - you are admitting that you did what you are being accused of, as opposed to denying that you did the deed at all. This means that if the court rules against you, you are automatically liable for whatever punishment they hand out - you confessed to the "crime", after all.

So how is Fair Use determined? By examining a number of different factors, such as:

How fragmentary is the copied portion? A collage that takes just the eyes from a photo is likely to be more Fair Use than something that takes the entire photo. If the entire photo is taken, then it's more likely to be judged Fair Use if it is only a small part of the larger work, as opposed to something that is dominated by the photo.

Is the work for sale? Non-profit works tend to be given more Fair Use leniency than works being sold.

How transformative is the work? If you alter the work in such a way that changes its meaning, particularly if there's a case to be made that it offers some kind of meaningful commentary, that tends to help a Fair Use case. The less it resembles the original, the better, for this kind of reasoning.

Does the new work have a negative impact on the old? Which is to say, is someone going to mistake your new work for the work it copies from, and thus affect how the other work sells? Is the new work attempting to impersonate or replace the old?

There are probably more factors at work, but this is going to be long enough and I don't feel like looking it up for this post. But the thing I want to point out is that none of these factors are guaranteed to protect anyone in the case of a lawsuit. Many non-profit works have been successfully sued into oblivion, while many very profit-oriented works have fended off lawsuits. This is because these factors are largely subjective, and depend on the people making these judgements, who may or may not have given much thought to these issues.

And the whole point of going into all that is to illustrate that even the legal issues around art are sometimes unclear and murky, so the issues that are based solely off of personal moral judgements are going to be even more shaky. From a legal standpoint, it would seem to make sense that AI art which incorporates the work of others would have to undergo Fair Use tests just like work which is made by humans. Which means: someone is going to have to sue someone for anything to happen.

We can probably set up a scale where at one end, a work is copied in full and without alteration, and that is a clear copyright violation, while at the other end a work that is only similar in some undetectable way to the original is not. The question is, where does one draw the line, from an ethical standpoint, as to what is allowable and what isn't? And then, while chewing on that, consider whether the answer is based on the copier being an AI - or human.

Because a lot of the complaints I've read accuse AI of taking things from other art that human artists take all the time, and nobody says jack about it. I have legit read artists complaining about AI ripping off color palettes, which may be one of the least ownable things in art. Styles are imitated constantly, though a human might call such a thing a "homage" instead of "style theft".

And humans have outright copied other artworks since art began. How much of a rip-off is it if a young artist copies their favorite anime images? The entire anime and manga industries are stylistic copies and mutations of the work of Osamu Tezuka, who was trying to copy Disney. The US superhero comic of today owes nearly everything to Jack Kirby. (Well, perhaps not as much in the last decade or so. Still.) Let's face it, nearly no illustrator starting out trying to learn to draw starts by sitting down in a life modeling class to build it up from scratch, no, they start by cribbing bits from their favorite artists, learning through imitation.

The fact that some AI art might currently simply copy wholesale portions of other works is an indication that the technology is still in the learning stage, in a sense. In time these algorithms will become refined enough to be able to erase any direct resemblance to their references - as human artists do. (Or can. Some don't. Greg Land is still in the comics industry after all.)

Then where will we be? If no AI art directly copies an existing piece of art, then we are left with the indignation that human artists will be set aside in favor of machines. And this is just another form of the "buggy whip manufacturer" problem.

The issue is competition. Suppose you are an illustrator. The service you offer is the ability to turn a customer's idea into an image, to bring something from their imagination - filtered through yours - into the real world, in a form viewable by all. The promise/threat of AI is that a potential customer can have their idea brought into existence without needing years of practice in graphic art or needing you, the other human, to herd the idea into reality.

That's going to be powerful. If nothing else, imagine all the artists you've seen who've posted commission info that contains a list of things they don't want to do. Imagine all the horror stories of customers who refused to be satisfied with the results. The AI won't give a damn about how freaky weird someone's Mario foot fetish commission is, it'll just do it.

No protest GIFs are going to stop this world from coming. What human artists will have to do is pivot. The technical skill in knowing how to represent things in graphic form will become less important than offering something the AI will have a harder time duplicating - a superior imagination.

Ohh so k-pop does get overwhelming at times like keeping up with all of their comebacks and activities does take a toll on the psyche 🤧 i took a small break of sorts back in 2021 just to get a breather and instead focus my energy on books :') the whole pandemic situation and the lockdown was beginning to get to me + i had to deal with an academic burnout but !! things are definitely better now.

In 127 i have a soft spot for the vocal line lol so i usually bias whoever's in the vocal line for a particular song (DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT SO HARD TO CHOOSE THO). rn it's jaehyun bc I'm obsessed w his voice (it's his first few lines in good thing <33)

Oof faded in my last song just hits so hard and it hurts so bad the songs so deep. Italy Francesca is so very very cute. Good composition, as expected from Italy - Eurovision was inspired by Sanremo for good reason! - but the staging, while not bad, is questionable. I'm a little weirded out by the fake plants on the stage. Also, I think this might have been the first entry to have onscreen effects as well as a show on the live stage? I'm not sure, but if yes Francesca is clearly a trendsetter lol. Sweden Going from Heroes to this was such a glow-down, Sweden, please. It used to be that there were no words for how much I hated this... I've come around, but just a little. I like the stage background and the instrumental is nice, I guess. But I hate the vocal line, and I don't know if that's anything to do with Frans or if it's just uninteresting no matter what. Germany This is not a bad song, and Jamie-Lee is actually a great singer. The song was ruined by her weeaboo aesthetic. I mean, come on, guys, this could have been so cool - keep the laser trees but give Jamie-Lee a normal-looking dress? Definitely would have scored a lot better. Overall I do like the song but Jamie-Lee's outfit sours it completely. France I actually like the space staging. It's a little tacky, yes, but not bad. This is a good song - I really enjoy listening to it and it was just what France needed to pull it out of its slump. Spain That staged fall is actually so epic. Everyone believes it for a hot second, we wonder why the lights went out, and then, oh! This was planned! Not as clever as Lea Sirk's gimmick in 2018 but... still. Anyway, Say Yay is a good song, but incredibly forgettable. This is the one song from this year where I couldn't remember how it went before watching the performance, lol. UK This one is sweet. Like Denmark, it's a pretty generic boyband song, but Joe and Jake seem to be enjoying themselves and I can't fault them for that. The stage background with the photos was a little weird but Joe and Jake are handling themselves well and I liked the drum sets as well. The song is okay. Don't hate it. Voting/Intervals Not technically an interval but christ, this was the weirdest parade of flags I've ever seen. I don't think it was included when I watched the show before on the German stream so only now can I fully appreciate how strange it is. Also, I cannot get over the crowd cheering for Petra every time she's introduced... Why is Justin Timberlake here? His appearance is not nearly as heinous as Madonna's but I'm still confused. He does seem very chill though, kind to the artists and playing well off Mans. I've never been able to take Don't Stop the Feeling seriously because I associate it with Eurovision, lol. Love Love Peace Peace remains iconic. This is another one I cited in that paper I mentioned - to explain that Eurovision songs often contain similar, generic messages. The fact that they actually got Rybak to show up is hilarious. Mans: So, Dami, what will you do if you win? Dami: I'll go and have a lemonade dfjdh I love her. Poland's televote glow-up is still so incredible. Honestly, I think it remains such because it was the first instance we've seen of a song that was ranked so low by the juries getting a huge boost from the televote - we've seen this with other countries in the years that followed, such as Ukraine in 2018. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most iconic moments of this year's contest, right up there with Love Love Peace Peace, Gina Dirawi saying "there's room in the butt", that weird projection of Douwe Bob's face during the jury votes, and however the fuck Russia pulled off that staging. Thoughts after watching I do agree with Jamala as a winner. A lot of people say that her song was too political to be allowed in Eurovision, but like... all of Eurovision is political. Every song and artist a country sends, every staging choice that they make, is a calculated choice about how the rest of Europe will see them for that year. Eurovision has always been a venue for political arguments, between Spain and Andorra, between Russia and Ukraine or Georgia, between Armenia and Turkey or Azerbaijan. Israel has brought up the Holocaust multiple times in presenting their points, and Israel's inclusion itself is a complicated political issue. In 2016, even, Petra and Mans discussed the criminalization of queer relationships and the refugee crisis, almost shaming countries that didn't line up with their views. When you get that many countries together and make them compete, it can't not be political, whether that's in subtle ways or overt ways. Therefore, 1944 deserved to compete in the 2016 contest. It and Jamala have a place. /endrant Anyways, this is actually a really weak year? I have so much nostalgia for it and always will, but there weren't a lot of songs I truly loved, not like in 2014/15 for example. And that stage design was actually pretty bad compared to 2013, 2014, and 2015, and then 2017 after. The lights on the floor made it look like a skull, it was so angular and industrial and appeared to be pretty difficult to work with. The Swedes did an excellent job hosting, though. I love Mans, and while I... well, Petra isn't my favorite, we'll get into that in my 2013 watch, but she's very good at what she does. I liked the postcards and really enjoyed the visual design and interval programming.

His pride was not allowing him to admit that to her verbally , but his actions ( which Y/N knew like they where hers) gave him away.

So instead of reassuring himself somehow that their relationship is not in danger when it came to those simply and silly small things they fight over each day , he became violent and possessive.

His toxic and deadly behaviour and perfect skill of manipulation was the any way he thought was possibly good enough to keep her beside him.

She got hooked onto him.

She couldn't live a day without him. She would rather fight and yell at him than to leave him. He was her everything and so was she to him.

They where not so different. Y/N was also very capable of getting her way through manipulations and coping his actions.

But believe me... They where the sweetest and most dear people you could stumble upon.

They where both very supportive of each others carriers , they always had cute dates planned ahead and they had surprisingly the same hobbies.

They simply adored each other.

They where madly in love and it was taking over their racional reactions.

When a huge dramatic beyond the borders fight happens between them Y/N either gets kicked out of their apartment for the night or she simply leaves by herself.

In those times the only safe place is her parents house and she often heard her mother repeat the same damn words.

" Y/N I love that boy so much and he is very dear to me and your father as well , but he crossed the line again, you should start to consider if he is the healthiest option for you. "

Y/N hated her mother for being so right in such times.

Their mutual mental health was not a thing to brag about. They never mentioned paying visits to some kind of relationship adviser. They thought it was not needed , that they can handle themselves the best.

But Y/N did seek for some professional help and Damiano did not hold her back. He was happy even to hear about it. He never considered going for himself but he was happy and somehow sad that his lover could open to someone professional who could help her out with coping around stressful situations.

He was more than aware that he was causing her the most damage.

Their apartment was cozy , creamy coloured and modern. Their fashion taste was opposite yet similar.

They had a small dog and 2 gold fishes. They also planned to move into a bigger house with bigger yard once they decide on having family.

Damiano was convinced him and Y/N would be the most amazing parents a child could wish for , both of them spoiling their children with love and switching between good and bad cop role. He wanted a girl and a boy , in that order.

But he also wanted to focus on his career , Y/N as well.

Maybe those children will bring them closer to that inner peace they are eagerly searching for.

When it came to appearing together in public places they had one simple rule.

If I am not coming neither are you. They all shared mutual friends and they where always invited together on events and such things.

There was a difference actually.

When the band Måneskin, in which Damiano was lead singer , was invited somewhere Y/N always came , often mistaken for the 5th member or their menager. But in fact she way jealous of everyone landing an eye on her glorious boyfriend.

Those nights went peacefully some might say. But they didn't see the hand or thigh gripping under the table , the oral sex in public restrooms and silent eye language of hate and despite in their eyes . The kind of language only Y/N and Damiano knew for.

Y/N had a lot of friends. She was never forbidden to see them and she could go whenever as long as she was telling him where and with who she was , never turning her location off and always answering his calls and messages.

Damiano is a type of ' a small circle of close friends and wide circle of acquaintances ' person. Victoria , Thomas and Ethan witnessed many fights of theirs.

Y/Ns best friend Y/Bsf/N as well.

The 4 of them would often exchange worried looks on their faces as Y/N would throw things at Damiano and he would shout such filthy and problematic stuff at her.

Ethan and Victoria had an intern joke that soon became something they rarely mention cause in each da they became more and more concerned for their friends.

First reason was that Thomas was the one who met them and thanks to who Damiano found the love of his life.

Second reason was that Thomas was beyond scared to even try thinking of doing something more than friendly to Y/N.

Victoria and Y/N had such a great friendship indeed. Having rare but meaningful girls night and sleepovers and rants about everything.

They cooked , went in shopping and shared topics about everything together.

Victoria was there for Y/N so many times listening to her cry on her shoulder about Damiano being an asshole.

Ethan was a huge softie for Y/N , he saw role model in her and he had just an amazing amount of respect for her. There was so much adoration between these two.

Damianos and Y/Ns sex life was yet another (not so much surprisingly) aggressive but consentive thing in their relationship.

It was built on mutual respect towards their partners needs. Simple as that is Damiano would never do and has never done something to make Y/N uncomfortable , same goes for her to him.

Before even sleeping together for the first time they detailedly talked about everything they where and where not interested in.

Damiano and Y/N where not near the perfect. But they where madly in love. And no one could ever take that away from them

A/N sooo as i sad on the beginning this is my personal view of the relationship these to have going on. This was in fact inspired by my personal experience and i want this story not fully to be a smut or nsfw but a kinda lovey one , just wanna say this is not kind of behaviour you should tolerate or romanticize !
