While I can't speak for other Alastor ships (but I'll tag you all and you can weigh in). But in the RadioApple/DuckieDeer fandom a lot of those making fanwork, including the smuttier stuff, are acespec/arospec themselves so maybe learn what is actually going on in these fandoms before try to gatekeep in their tags

You Would Think I have Learned to Not Read YT Comments by now
When a fair amount of the times/so many of the times, the takes/comments are just bad and/or I really disagree with them.
Not all the time, but I do end up disagreeing with comments more often than not
Well, at least I have gotten better at not replying to YouTube comments and getting arguments.
I was very tempted to reply to a comment (a reply in this case) on “Dipper being Brutally Honest for 5 minutes”; this video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut_BGUhNKWc (which is great btw.  Fricken love this video), where the OP comment had a not the best take (imo) on Mabel, but the reply to it, defending Mabel, ended up being unfairly harsh to Dipper (imo), so I got a bit tempted to defend my boi.  Then I realized, no, no, getting into arguments in the YouTube comments never go well.
I do still think them, in defending one character, they were too harsh/unfair on the other (which, to be fair, usually happens in comparisons with characters, esp. if the characters themselves are actually close in-universe.  Like, Killua and Gon, Sans and Paps, Mabel and Dipper ofc, etc.  Basically no matter what though, I usually end up hating those comparisons/those kinds of comparisons.  Both they are all great characters so there is no reason to make them compete like that.  And also, in trying to defend one character, so many of the times, I see people being unfair towards the other or putting down the other.  And I just don’t like that.  It is tiring.  I love all these characters I mentioned btw!), but I won’t get into an argument about it.  There is just no need to.  I was mighty tempted though.  Mightily tempted.
P.S.:  I am talking about Mabel and Dipper from Gravity Falls.  And I love both characters.  I love Dipper a bit more and he is one of my all-time favorite characters ever ever, but I also love Mabel a lot and she is one of my favorite characters in the show and one of my favorites character in general.  I love the mystery twins.  Why can’t people just love both of them?  Or at least try not to be so harsh on one or the other?
Double P.S.:  I feel similarly with Ford and Stan that I do with Mabel and Dipper, but to a bit lesser extent (I also just have issues when comparing characters in general, esp. close pairs and/or pairs that are tied together like the ones I mentioned).  I love both Stan and Ford too though.

ok to the anon in my inbox: hi i'm not going to answer your ask because it feels kinda racially charged. i don't think the trigun plantcest issue is specific to countries other than the US. in fact, the majority of plantcest shippers i've seen on twt have been american or from some other white-dominated western country. maybe the ones you've seen are using their culture to defend it, idk, i'm not you!! but this. is not a foreign-specific issue. this is prevalent in the western world as well. i agree that it makes the fandom unbearable but like bro i hope you know that in most cases it's white girl fujoshis who are spearheading the incest shipping. it is VERY popular in the us. the call is coming from inside the fucking house

okay i know the Discourse™️ has been going on for way too long at this point, but
i think some people outside of the OFMD fandom don’t actually get why we’re particularly annoying about this show
OFMD is not the first queer show to ever exist. if anything, it's a late entry in decades of queer media. over a year and a half since the first few episodes aired, everyone knows that OFMD is queer. that doesn't make it particularly special
but back in March? this is the trailer that dropped in February of 2022, 2 weeks before the premier. if you're used to seeing queer chemistry in shows that aren't intended to be queer, you might see the hints between Ed and Stede here. but to most people? it's just a silly little pirate comedy. just guys being dudes. the trailer doesn't even hint at the other 2 canonical queer relationships in the show -- the closest it gets suggesting romance is the music and the pink in the poster
Tumblr media
so when people watched this show in March 2022, they went into it expecting subtext and nothing else. to them, it was like watching Sherlock or Supernatural or Merlin in the 2010s. if you were in any of those fandoms -- especially Sherlock and Supernatural -- you know what it was like; constant jokes at our expense, being mocked for creating explicit fanwork, made fun of by the creators and within the show itself. if we saw queer subtext, that was our problem. this was a time when you pretended NOT to be in fandom, for fear of ridicule. we kept our fanwork to ourselves, we DID NOT share it with the cast, and we accepted that our favourite ships would probably never be canon. maybe one day, if we were lucky, we'd have a show where the subtext wasn't mockery as much as deliberate foreshadowing -- but that had to be YEARS away
right?
OFMD was never billed as a queer show, not in the beginning. there was no LGBTQ+ tag on (HBO) Max, it wasn't on anyone's list of upcoming queer shows in 2022, it flew under the radar through most of its first season. this was a show about pirates, and sure, some of them were queer. but not the LEADS. if you think they're romantically involved, that's must be fandom brain poisoning
except the 9th episode aired, and they kissed. and the show said "you're not crazy for thinking they have chemistry because they really do. it's been a romance this whole time". and in the 10th episode, Stede realizes that he's in love
(not mandating you watch this clip if you don't care for the show, but there's something that feels particularly earth shattering about no one saying the word gay but knowing that Stede's realizing he is, that it's completely unambiguous and explicit in a way that only straight romances are usually allowed to be)
this is why people freaked out about this show. no one knew. even the creator, David Jenkins, was surprised when WE were surprised that it was gay for real -- he set out to write a love story, using all the tried and true beats of a rom com. he'd never even heard of the term queerbaiting. he looked at historical Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet and thought "oh, there's something here" and just...wrote that, with very little fanfare, like it was inevitable. like it was obvious. of course Jim and Pam end up together. of course Buttercup and Westley end up together. what kind of disappointing ending would it be if You've Got Mail ended with the main characters just going their separate ways?
so of course Ed and Stede are in love
look, i get it. we're annoying and won't shut the fuck up about this show that seems mediocre at best. i watched the whole thing back in march, thought "huh, that was cool" and was sure that i'd forget about it in a few days
an hour after looking at fanart on twitter, i was lost in the fucking sauce
there's just so much to unpack from a mere 10 episodes. it covers racism, toxic masculinity, gender expression, sexuality, trauma and abuse. and i don't think we should overlook the fact that the non-white characters in this show get to be fully human in a way i haven't seen in my favourite shows in recent memory
additionally, most OFMD are 25 or older. we're not people who've been spoiled by queer rep, who don't get how hard it used to be, how you'd have to grovel for scraps, how shipping and fanfiction was a way to find queer rep where we thought there never would be. we've been here. we're annoying about this show because for a lot of us, it's the first time we've been treated like our queerness isn't an anomaly that needs to be relegated to its own section, that needs to be praised for the bare minimum of acknowledging that we exist. it's not pulling punches to avoid scaring away a straight audience. it just is.
OFMD for me is like when i watched Black Panther for the first time and realized that this is what white people felt all the time. have there been other black superhero movies? of course! does Disney fucking suck? BOY does it. but that was the first time i got to sit in a movie theater and watch a mainstream film that looked at Africa and said "look at how beautiful you are, exactly as you are"
and idk. i think that's really cool

prompted by nothing in particular, things I learned that I'd pass down as advice to anyone intending to do a large multifandom bracket tournament:
Imagine your bracket inspiring wild enough discourse that someone makes a Hall of the Mountain King edit. No, really, imagine it. Imagine that going down in your activity feed. Imagine being known across the site for that. Does this prospect fill you, on some level, with delight? If not, you may not be cut out for a large multifandom bracket tournament.
Do not try to do a large multifandom bracket alone. You need a team, and the bigger your audience gets the more of a team you need. You especially need a team if you're potentially working with a bunch of things you've never heard of. For a smaller bracket with an activity feed that's more reasonable to keep track of, you don't necessarily need multiple blog admins, but you at the very least need a groupchat so you aren't making all the decisions alone.
Your guys might lose. In fact, your guys will probably lose, since there can only be one winner. The sooner you accept this the better for all involved.
You are the mod. It is your job to be impartial, no matter what. You can hate and rage against one of your options in private. In public? The things you hate are valid contenders exactly like every other. If you really can't bring yourself to be at the very least neutral about something in public, just don't include it.
This also means that you have to be evenhanded. You can reveal your personal biases once finals are set in stone but if you're perceived as making policies that favor your guys that shit gets ugly and it gets ugly fast. Remember: everyone can see the vote percentages perfectly well on the post! The winner of the vote gets highlighted! People can see these things!
Keep anon off. If it looks like it's going to get at all heated, turn blog comments off and keep them off. Don't publish any type of ask you aren't okay with getting more of.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THE TAGS. You can respond to asks, if you really want to, and you've thought through the consequences, but do not respond to the tags. This is the other reason that you need a groupchat, ideally a groupchat full of likeminded individuals who have good takes and are fairly levelheaded: bringing bad or annoying or even just funny takes to the groupchat will give you the strength to not respond to the tags, the serenity to not respond to the tags, and the wisdom to not respond to the tags.
You cannot prevent voter fraud. You can accept voter fraud, or you can have a meltdown about voter fraud. In a small bracket (votes in the triple digits) you can ask people nicely not to fraud, and this will probably even work if you're not in mcyt fandom, but once you get to the tens of thousands it does not work at all. Even if nobody actually frauds, it's easy to accuse the other side of fraud and difficult to prove innocence; people can and will abuse this. Accepting fraud is literally always going to be less stress for you and I highly recommend it. Also, it's funny.
Try to establish policies before things come up, rather than reacting in the heat of the moment. Once you have made a policy, stick to it. Relatedly, when you are making policies, ask yourself very seriously if they're policies you're willing to stick to.
Things you will likely need policies on: Do you publish propaganda? Do you reblog propaganda? What is the line for being an asshole beyond which you block? What do you do in case of a tie?
"There can't be that many fans of [whatever]" is always wrong. There can always be that many fans of whatever.

Pretty regularly, at work, I ask ChatGPT hundreds of slightly different questions over the course of a minute or two.
I don't type out these individual questions, of course. They're constructed mechanically, by taking documents one by one from a list, and slotting each one inside a sandwich of fixed text. Like this (not verbatim):
Here's a thing for you to read: //document goes here// Now answer question XYZ about it.
I never read through all of the responses, either. Maybe I'll read a few of them, later on, after doing some kind of statistics to the whole aggregate. But ChatGPT isn't really writing for human consumption, here. It's an industrial machine. It's generating "data," on the basis of other "data."
Often, I ask it to write out a step-by-step reasoning process before answering each question, because this has been shown to improve the quality of ChatGPT's answers. It writes me all this stuff, and I ignore all of it. It's a waste product. I only ask for it because it makes the answer after it better, on average; I have no other use for it.
The funny thing is -- despite being used in a very different, more impersonal manner -- it's still ChatGPT! It's still the same sanctimonious, eager-to-please little guy, answering all those questions.
Fifty questions at once, hundreds in a few minutes, all of it in that same, identical, somewhat annoying brand voice. Always itself, incapable of tiring.
This is all billed to my employer at a rate of roughly $0.01 per 5,000 words I send to ChatGPT, plus roughly $0.01 per 3,750 words that ChatGPT writes in response.
In other words, ChatGPT writing is so cheap, you can get 375,000 words of it for $1.
----
OpenAI decided to make this particular "little guy" very cheap and very fast, maybe in recognition of its popularity.
So now, if you want to use a language model like an industrial machine, it's the one you're most likely to use.
----
Why am I making this post?
Sometimes I read online discourse about ChatGPT, and it seems like people are overly focused on the experience of a single human talking to ChatGPT in the app.
Or, at most, the possibility of generating lots of "content" aimed at humans (SEO spam, generic emails) at the press of a button.
Many of the most promising applications of ChatGPT involve generating text that is not meant for human consumption.
They go in the other direction: they take things from the messy, human, textual world, and translate them into the simpler terms of ordinary computer programs.
Imagine you're interacting with a system -- a company, a website, a phone tree, whatever.
You say or type something.
Behind the scenes, unbeknownst to you, the system asks ChatGPT 13 different questions about the thing you just said/typed. This happens almost instantaneously and costs almost nothing.
No human being will ever see any of the words that ChatGPT wrote in response to this question. They get parsed by simple, old-fashioned computer code, and then they get discarded.
Each of ChatGPT's answers ends in a simple "yes" or "no," or a selection from a similar set of discrete options. The system uses all of this structured, "machine-readable" (in the old-fashioned sense) information to decide what to do next, in its interaction with you.
This is the kind of thing that will happen, more and more.

I wasn't going to address this, because every time I criticize Brandon Rogers for saying something stupid at a con I get a couple of hardcore fans yelling at me in the replies and reblogs. But I decided to make an exception because this is sad even for him.
No, I don't have a problem with the joke itself. Trust me, as someone who is old enough to remember Rogers' old Vine skits, this joke is pretty tame compared to his older stuff.
The issue here is that he's clearly throwing Octavia under the bus because the character isn't well liked among the hardcore Stolitz fans. As a lot of them hate her for getting in the way of their precious ship.
Now, I'm not the type of person who gets involved in shipping discourse (Because it's stupid) but I find it funny how Rogers is trying to score brownie points with the Stolitz crowd. Because fuck forbid anybody who works on this show not validate the fandbase's toxic behavior when it comes to shipping, am I right?
It's annoying how Viv and her inner circle will constantly defend Stolitz against criticism, but they'll throw every other character and ship under the bus.
I guarantee you that if you went up to Viv or Brandon at a con and said that you liked a ship or character that they disliked, they would spend the rest of the con side eyeing you.

Since I can't seem to stay quiet and I all but made up my mind to stay away from the tag for the next week or so, let's talk about recent discussions about jance and bokris and this...weird ship war that has been going on, shall we?
Under the cut bc while I am annoying, I will spare you the essay if you don't want to read it, god knows I write too many of these.
I don't know when we as a fandom got to a point where we are even fighting over which ship is more likely, more realistic and if the other ship is "more queer coded" or whatever the fuck. I was under the impression that the fandom is meant to be fun thing we do, but that we are all aware shipping is something that's made up. And that even if guys play into it or even if someone is indeed really dating we are aware that what we think about it is irrelevant. Factually, even if someone "was right" about the ship, our perception of it will be widely different than the truth of real people's relationship. Because these are real people, not fictional characters. They cannot queerbait, and jokes aside, even calling someone queer coded is weird, you guys. At the end of the day, we cannot assume someone's sexuality based on how they look.
As for the whole bokris-jance discourse. I don't even know why this is a thing? Bokris people, you got fantastic solo photos of both Bojan and Kris, full of symbolism and got the fire-water link between them that's just perfect for fics.
Jance people, you got joined photoshoot, with Jan and Nace clearly being very intimately connected, which you can interpret in whatever way you wish in fics and fanart. The fact that there are less pictures speaks volumes about how private whatever they have is.
Both have it's merits. Both have it's weight. I don't understand this aggression and fighting over art. Art all of them participated in creating by speaking with Damon about it before doing the photoshoot.
I have friends who ship jance more and I have friends who ship bokris more. The truth about both is that we simply don't know what's going on behind closed doors. Even more importantly, is whatever it is that we don't know worth losing the community we built here? I feel like every time I get into the tag, there is something new people are fighting over. This is just the last thing that seems relevant and that most people got involved into.
But genuinely, I am just tired. I hope things calm down when the new song drops, although god knows there will likely be a discourse over that as well, but hopefully...less than this.
And yeah, I do know this will probably get me blocked from one or the other side or both but let's just...get it over with. Since I feel like this will happen again, I might as well make my stance clear now. Which is-I am not picking a side. I don't think real people can queerbait and that they'd do a joined photoshoot if they didn't have a very deep connection to one another. I don't think they also need their virtue defended because they definitely knew people will speculate after this. But I also don't think this 100% means they are together. Yes, it sucks that queer people need to outright say these things, but I also wouldn't claim a straight couple is dating unless they publicly announced it.
So yeah can we all just please try to chill and do fun stuff again, please?

Val has broken Vox's screen multiple times in anger stop acting like they're cute and healthy with "equal power dynamics" he's a rapist abuser that doesn't just go away💀
oh man I did not come in here to get into discourse. first of all, I haven't been in the fandom for long, my main source of content is from the canon show itself. from what I've heard, those instagram stories are non-canon now and their dynamic in the show itself is a bit different. secondly, yes, val is a rapist abuser, and never once did I deny that, but you have to remember that vox is also NOT A GOOD PERSON. I actually would like to bring attention to this post specifically regarding that. but to put it short, he enables val's actions, his very introduction involves a product that lets you PEEP ON NEIGHBOURS. I do not in fact think they are cute, wholesome and healthy. they're both horrible people. the reason I call their power dynamic balanced is because of their interactions in episode 2, vox isn't shown to be afraid of val at all, he just acts annoyed, and isn't afraid of shouting at him to his face or saying "fuck you" to him, val does not react negatively to this either. val doesn't hold power over him, there is no clear power imbalance compared to val and angel. from what I've seen so far personally, I do not view vox as being a victim of val's. he's capable of using manipulative language to get val to stop what he was about to do, pinches his cheek with zero fear, and unremorsefully offers to call up the lowest earners for val to shoot.
if you disagree? that's fine. if you don't feel comfortable with the ship? that's also perfectly fine! here are things you can do:
- filter #voxval
- filter #staticmoth
- block me
I state in my bio that staticmoth is a ship I like, you are warned of that the moment you come to my page, even if my main thing is one-sided radiostatic, and no, it doesn't mean I support or deny val's actions in ANY WAY, he's a horrible person. absolutely. I hope he gets what's coming to him in the show, I hope angel gets to be free and FAR away from him. but for now, I find staticmoth as a ship intriguing, because they're both horrible people but are capable of having a more balanced dynamic with one another compared to their victims, maybe it'll change in the future and I won't like it anymore, who knows?

i keep coming back to this topic but the whole "let her have female friends" thing re wlw ships just annoys me so much it's always kind of in my brain a little.
First of all i don't think it's in good faith a lot of the time even if the people saying it don't realize that. i think what it means is "im just not interested in this character/these characters outside of their relationships to the male character I am actually interested in."
But the other thing is, "let her have female friendships" has a root in just wanting women to have something to do other than being a love interest to a man. i don't want to get into bechdel test discourse but like literally we were begging to let women talk to each other on screen at all a lot of the time. it was never "don't let them kiss!" it was "please let them do anything at all i implore you."
Now it's being interpreted as "romantic relationships are inherently less meaningful than platonic relationships, dont cheapen this friendship by making it romantic" (except this only really seems to apply to wiw relationships, for which i refer back to these arguments not being made in good faith.)
Or like, "She needs somebody who isn't trying to sleep with her!" Which tbh is nonsense. The reasons characters (and people) should have friends outside of whatever primary romantic relationship they may or may not have is not because you need people who don't want to sleep with you, it's because it's just healthier to interact regularly with and to care about/be cared about by more than one person. It's fine if your friends want to sleep with you or if you want to sleep with your friends and in fact it is fine if you DO sleep with your friends and it is fine if you enter romantic relationships with your friends and it's also fine if none of that happens at all, and none of it alters the value of those friendships besides how the people involved actually treat each other.
call me when "he needs more male friendships!" is anything. (but i will be opposed to that too because gay is good)

seeing people already (ALREADY) scold the call for a general strike as “unrealistic” because it “devalues” the effort that goes into labour movements boils my blood. And of course all of those critiques are coming from people not directly affected by the genocide. Such soulless ghouls, just addicted to getting clicks on their stupid hot takes.
Actually bloglikeanegyptian put it into words perfectly if you want to check their post but also I want to add:
Statements like these make it obvious that people don't recognize Palestinians within organizing spaces. We've been here for nearly 75 years, we've learned how organizing works. When people critique organizing (boycotting and protests especially) they really are saying "you have no idea what you're doing, only I do because I'm involved in organizing" and like. Ok. Palestinian organizers who have been doing this for year and know how organizing works — they still participated. They participate in what Gazans asked them to do because that's the bare minimum right now.
So when people critique our boycott lists and how disruption efforts, they're really saying that they have no faith in Palestinians and their understanding of organizing, which they ALSO learned a great deal from the Civil Rights Movement and Black Lives Matter.
People like this show me they've never organized as part of a community — not a bureaucratic one at least — and don't understand the ways in which local communities show dissent. And I think that's the thing that really annoys me right now with all this discourse because it forces us to adhere to the rules of the very systems that we are protesting in order make a change and I don't know if that makes sense.

so are you back on tumblr after a while or you're new? welcome! it's a lot nicer here lately, and, shockingly enough, the website actually works a lot better too, thanks to the hard work of a bunch of very talented people. the mobile app is constantly improving, but if you're on desktop and used to use things like missing e or xkit, the latest helpful extension is XKIT REWRITTEN, which you can go download and read about at @addons that was created by @april, who worked on new xkit back in the day and now works at tumblr itself!
here's some other helpful tips to know:
PLEASE REBLOG THINGS. it's the main form of engagement here. there is no penalizing for spam interaction, most people are not looking at your blog directly, and it is the main way people find you and you find good content to follow. for original content like fanart and fanfic, it also REALLY helps people out. likes are better for like, personal posts, and for storing things for later. also, it doesn't matter if you blog is a jumble of things - it's yours, nobody cares, and that's kind of the purpose of the site
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PROFILE PHOTO, BANNER PHOTO, AND UNIQUE URL (that isnt like a bunch of numbers or something), or else people will think you are a bot and block you. you don't have to do anything fancy, you can use the default tumblr theme on your blog itself, but just make sure you look like a real account PLEASE
DO NOT CENSOR WORDS. much like on twitter, if you censor a word for a trigger, it will do the opposite of what you want - people's blacklist and mute functions won't work if the word isn't spelled out in the tags or the text of the post. also there isn't post suppression here.
Don't like your dashboard? Getting bored? Feel like your community is getting annoying? JUST FOLLOW MORE PEOPLE (and maybe unfollow some. a block and an unfollow are always ok). nobody cares, or can see about your follow ratio, and it'll help your dashboard feel more lively (you'll also not give as much of a shit about petty dramas). the follow limit is 5000 last i checked
keep your comments to the tags (unless it's like....really funny or adding something good? use your best judgement). the tags are helpful for subject matter, but you should also use them to talk as like side commentary!
Close your ask box to anons and don't share personal information if you don't want to. You are under no obligation to share your name, age, diagnoses, history, location, face, and you SHOULDN'T. and the ask box is great but if it gets overwhelming just close it. If you're a minor, maybe say somewhere that you're a minor, but that's it. (that goes for any social media site)
MAKE YOUR LIKES AND FOLLOWS PRIVATE. for the love of god. just protect yourself.
just like any social media site - be critical about the things people claim are true on here. screenshots, takes, facts, can be skewed and you should do extra research before believing anything just because somebody said it on tumblr dot com
DON'T GET INTO QUEER OR NEURODIVERGENT LABEL IDENTITY DISCOURSE. whether you are young or old, on tumblr or another site, things will just get confusing and weird. if you learn something here that makes you feel affirmed, great! but also please make sure your interaction with fellow queers (or other neurodivergent people) is not limited to just this site. get involved with a local or school lgbtq center if you can, get to know queer people in your life or queer spaces if you can. (and if you can't - go read about queer history somewhere other than tumblr. do research, watch movies and documentaries. look into disability organizing and history outside this hellsite). Label discourse is also how many unknowing queers and others get recruited to T*RFy shit unknowingly so....be careful out there.
Don't get guilted into things on your dashboard. You should definitely care about the things people are talking about, but you don't have to know about every ill happening in the world at once to be a good person. If you're feeling lost, or hopeless and endlessly scrolling or feel guilted by people online, pick ONE thing you can do, for people in your local community, and then just make a reasonable effort to stay informed otherwise.
create an original tag for your "original" posts, aka the posts you make that aren't reblogs, so you can look at them later
explore the QUEUE FUNCTION! you don't have to use it, nobody cares if you reblog spam, but sometimes it's fun!
Don't know who to follow? Go follow the tags of things you like (TV shows, movies, musicians, aesthetics, whatever!), and suggested posts will pop up on your feed, or you can go through the tag and follow some people who look interesting

i try not to be openly mad super often about tumblr users being obnoxious because it really is a small minority of people & i know that a lot of you guys who are Literally Perfectly Fine but also Very Anxious will be like "oh no. am i one of the people who does this."
so let me give u an example of a wildly obnoxious tumblr interaction i had a few months ago. that sticks with me.
at one point i locked the rbs on a house MD post that had gotten a few thousand notes. no one had done anything wrong or bad, but the post was starting to breach containment into discourse that i find pretty upsetting/draining, so i preemptively shut it down. for the sake of my own sanity.
a few weeks after i did this, some tumblr user who does not follow me commented
"OP TURN ON THE REBLOGS"
hm.
hmmm.
to which i responded, "no 💕"
and they said, "why not?? :("
frowny face included btw. apparently it was incomprehensible to them that i might not comply with an all-caps command from a total stranger.
i replied "because i don't want to 💕" and left it at that. as is my right.
this apparently vexed the tumblr user. who left three long and increasingly nasty messages about how i have a shitty attitude and i'm a shit person who's shit at interacting with people who's "so unserious." i do not remember the exact wording of anything except "you're so fucking unserious" because i was like. Hello.
at this point i simply blocked the tumblr user and deleted their comments and my responses to them. i do this frequently on my popular posts. when i get comments that annoy me or people start debating in the notes, i just delete Aaall that shit. and block everyone involved. not in my house!!
if you are a person who can understand where this interaction went wrong, and who cannot conceive of approaching an internet stranger in this manner, then you are Probably not one of the people who drives us fucking crazy. (and chances are that if you HAVE annoyed someone, it was over something pretty minor and low-stakes.)
the wildest thing is that if this person had just said "hey, could you turn on rbs for a few minutes?? i want this on my blog," I WOULD'VE SAID YES....? WHY WOULDN'T I. YOU KNOW.
sometimes. the internet. is.
.....taxing.

Ideas!
Bff Eren #10
Because there’s gotta be more Eren/Jean discourse before Jean comes to terms with the fact that he’s not getting his ex back. Eren being a smug ass mother fcker about it, too.
OR
Roommate Jean (well, poly boyfriend Jean). “You look pretty like that” prompt.
Maybe reader is handcuffed to a chair or in a bed? She’s an absolute mess because she’s dying to be touched and neither of her boyfriends will indulge her. They’re not sure if they even want to considering how pretty she looks all desperate and restrained. They’ll stroke themselves so close to her mouth, let her think she’ll get a taste. She stains her neck in hopes of getting a lick but they stay ever so slightly out of reach. 🤷🏻‍♀️
If I keep writing, I’m gonna end up sending a damn drabble to your ask box. 🤣
HIIIII kjt<333 omg.....this is like...such a difficult choice. honest to god i may pocket your first idea for something.....longer than a drabble ;) so i'm gonna go with the second one bc i am OBSESSED with poly erejean like genuinely. obsessed. might have a part 2 coming for them too solely bc i love them<3
throwing all nsfw under the cut like always
"Not too tight, is it, baby?" Jean tugs the ropes digging into your skin into what has to be the final knot after nearly twenty minutes of positioning, repositioning, and admittedly, a rope burn around your ankle.
"Mm-mmm," you try to assure him around the gag in your mouth, shaking your head no. Jean smiles, places a laughably chaste kiss on your forehead.
"Such a good girl for us, aren't you? He's going to love it."
The ropes were Jean's idea; ever since he'd joined your relationship with Eren, almost everything was Jean's idea, having come so far from the timid, reluctant lover you'd made of him a few months ago. These days, Jean's nearly bouncing out of bed in the morning with a new idea to bring to the bedroom, and neither you nor Eren have the wherewithal to complain about it.
Eren's had a rough few weeks at work, and over coffee this morning, Jean had talked you into a "surprise" for your mutual boyfriend. This surprise had involved a trip to a sex shop, a hardware store, and an hour-long Youtube tutorial on knot-tying, but you'd figured it out together, and it's paid off.
Jean's got your arms above your head, secured to either side of the headboard, and your legs spread wide enough to incite a slight ache in your hips, ankles tied to your thighs and putting your already-dripping cunt on display. A black lace gag is holding your voice back behind your teeth, and the collar Eren and Jean had surprised you with last weekend jingles around your neck when you wiggle experimentally, testing the bonds that Jean's wrapped you up in.
"Can't get out, can you?"
"Mm-mm," you affirm, tugging on the ropes at your wrists to prove your point. Jean grins again, wicked and dark.
"Eren's not the only one getting a surprise today," he muses, knocking around in the nightstand drawer on your side of his bed.
What he pulls out makes your eyes widen.
"I didn't tell you, but I left a little pocket riiight..." Jean trails off, working the vibrator under a little slip in the rope, "here."
He angles it perfectly against your clit, not yet turning it on, but watching your reaction lecherously. You're already running hot with your movements restrained, already starting to feel the hum of lust buzzing through your body.
Before Jean can make another move, you meet eyes meaningfully at the sound of the front door opening, Eren's voice calling out into the empty apartment.
"You guys home?"
"Be right back, don't move." Jean snickers at his own joke, leaving you there bare and unattended.
Unable to move, your other senses hone in on every little bit of stimulus around you. The muffled sounds of conversation between Eren and Jean outside; you can hear Eren's disgruntled grumble, Jean's soothing timbre, but not what they're saying. The annoying, understimulating nudge of the vibrator against your center. The texture of the lace gag against your tongue, the way it's making you drool ever so slightly. And then the door clicks open.
"Fuck..." Eren trails off, eyes going wide. If you look close enough, you can see the front of his pants already beginning to tent. You're not sure what to do, so on display; you can't smile through the gag, can't even move in greeting, really. Jean's turned you into their little fuckdoll in the most literal sense of the word. Jean smirks proudly.
"Isn't she so-"
"So pretty," Eren breathes out, rounding the bed to caress your cheek, brush a thumb over your nipple, "you look so pretty like this, baby."
Jean comes behind Eren, wrapping muscled arms around his waist, palming slightly at the erection forming behind Eren's zipper. "She's all yours, we both are. Whatever you want tonight."
"Whatever I want, huh?" Eren's eyes darken. He turns his head over his shoulder to Jean, catching the other man's mouth in a slow, languid kiss. Watching them pulls a whimper from you, muffled by the gag, but insistent.
Jean breaks the kiss to frown down at you, reach over and flick the vibrator on, ripping a tinny whine out of your throat.
"Behave yourself, you're supposed to be his little surprise, remember?"
Eren smirks down at you through hooded eyes, lets one lazy hand drag soothingly up Jean's neck, lets the other come down to tweak your nipple roughly. "Let her act up a little. Can't punish her if she's not being a brat, right?"

It’s so hard being an Adrien stan in this fandom. People are constantly nitpicking every little thing he does. He can never do right by them. It’s so frustrating. And that’s not even mentioning how he was treated in canon
I feel you anon. I wasn't actively posting for the fandom during the major salt periods, like right after the airing of Syren and then Chameleon, but I was around to see the ridiculous salt fests that would go on. People love to pick on Adrien for every single little thing that involves him making a decision that doesn't cater perfectly to Marinette's whims and needs, but woe be upon you if you say anything about Marinette that isn't praising her. It's not even like I have a problem with Marinette as a character. Some of her writing in Season 4 and 5? Yes. But in Seasons 1-3, I really loved her. She was such a breath of fresh air for me as a character. She was so full of charm and life and energy. But she got ruined for me by her stans who jumped to salt on every other character for not exactly agreeing with her every decision and for having minds of their own and having desires that weren't about her.
And another annoying part is their insistence that Marinette is treated oh so cruelly by the narrative and poor Marinette is always suffering and everyone is treating her so cruelly and she deserves better than people who aren't willing to be her faithful slaves. Then Seasons 4 and 5 brought this into canon, and then you saw people who were salting on Adrien for being upset about being neglected by his partner, and they were blaming him for "feeling entitled to her" despite never calling her out for her treatment of him. Lemme tell you, the chimney discourse was wild. And all that bullshit ass "discourse" about him harassing Ladybug, while ignoring all the stalking Marinette did and pretending it was nothing. I generally ignore anyone who says either of these things because they are clearly meant to be jokes, and I think calling Adrien a harasser is just as ludicrous as calling Marinette a stalker, but the double standard of taking the joke seriously for Adrien but not for Marinette is annoying, to say the least.
And ultimately they just want Adrien and everyone else to be Marinette's sidekicks/yes-men who will never disagree with her and will always do whatever she wants and will never think for themselves. And you unfortunately can see this attitude seeping into canon too, with how Adrien isn't allowed to have independent thoughts outside of how he can be of service to Marinette. Nothing matters for him, the only thing that matters is her and what he can do for her. She's allowed to yell at him and throw him into trashcans, but fuck him if he disagrees with her on something and isn't happy to just sit by and accept being replaced and ignored. And canon Adrienette is such a good example of this phenomenon.
But the salters will whine and rage about how Marinette is such a victim of the narrative and how she suffers so much that we should all excuse her less than perfect actions, while also raging at Adrien for any small slight and denying that he also suffers. I guess Marinette can be excused for being traumatized and stressed, but being a victim of horrific abuse is too less of a reason for Adrien to be excused, and I guess it means he isn't suffering. To them, only Marinette's feelings and suffering matters. And this has also become true for the show, because Adrien's feelings don't matter, only Marinette's feelings about him matter.
And the worst fucking thing I've seen from this fandom is the occasional post about how Adrien is "spineless" and "cowardly" and "doesn't have a backbone" because he is non-confrontational and doesn't get up in arms about everything. And, aside from the fact that there is absolutely nothing wrong with not flying into a righteous rage about everything, this is some fucking heavy victim blaming bullshit. Like, y'all know that Adrien is like that because he's a victim of abuse, right? That his actions are a trauma response, right? It's called fawning. How awful of Adrien to have been conditioned into being non-confrontational by an abusive father who wants him to be subservient to his every whim! How useless is he for being traumatized because of the abuse he suffers! What a loser!
Honestly, the deranged Marinette stans are the worst. If someone says that shit about Adrien, they can go fuck themselves honestly. The gall to accuse a character who is an abuse victim of being "a spineless worm who can't grow a backbone" (someone legit wrote this word for word). Acting like he's the scum of the earth for not agreeing with Marinette 24/7 and victim blaming him for not rising swords drawn the moment someone does something mean to her.
So yeah, I understand you anon. It's really annoying to see all these "hot takes" going around. But there are still many Marinette fans who are nice and don't say all this goofy shit about Adrien, and there are plenty of Adrien stans who love and defend our boy. My advice is to block the salt tags, follow the right blogs and curate your experience the best you can. Trust me, it took a while for me to learn to stop putting myself through the agony of looking through these salt posts and to start blocking tags and salters' blogs. But I'm better off for it now. It won't stop some of these posts from popping up here and there, but it'll massively improve your fandom experience.
Thank you for your ask!
