the psychological horror created by Hasbro’s desire to sell more toys rather than honour the desires of the original creator resulting in an immortal alicorn princess of friendship doomed to watch her friends grow old and die without her is so interesting to me. by trying to cater to children more you have accidentally created a reality in which death of the main characters friends as she lives on for centuries is not just implied but confirmed. idk it’s fascinating to think about

i'm rewatching fringe and just got to episode 2x21. did peter's "i love bacon" quote become a fandom meme? it rattled something loose in my brain, but i can't remember why.
Oh man, this makes me so happy and sad at the same time because Peter and bacon was like, the biggest Fringe meme when I first joined the fandom on tumblr in late 2010. Bear with me because I'm going all in, for nostalgia's sake.
It did all start because of this scene between Peter and his (biological) mom in 2x21 Over There 1
...which of course led someone to make this gif:
...which I swear is single-handedly responsible for this becoming such an ongoing meme in the fandom back then, all the way up to the fandom dissolving after the show ended in early 2013.
But yeah, during those few active years, we used every opportunity to bring it up. And I mean, every opportunity.
my personal favorite:

Agent Broyles. my beloved. ugh.
Peace be with you, Lance Reddick 💕
Fringe still is my favorite show of all time. It was the little show that could, and did. Lance Reddick made it exceptionally special.
I am so very sad from the news of his passing.

there are so many innovative and interesting stories that can be told about the side-lined superheroes in dc especially because of how closely they’re tied together with other characters or because of how few appearances they have outside of events but like...dc is never going to risk losing money to explore that potential. i just have to wonder how many pitches have been shot down by virtue of them not featuring a popular enough franchise.

i fear i have become the sane one in our relationship and that is not a good sign or i finished rewatching fringe last night and i cried at the ending
i averaged about one episode a night, so it took the whole summer. after i realized i was missing details, i started putting my phone in the other room while i was watching, and that actually helped me calm the phone twitch at other times in the day.
it was a nice thing to look forward to at the end of those muggy summer days. i am going to miss it

I’m gonna do what I do best and ramble about a nonsensical idea regarding to, “The Politician”.
Don’t click/tap, “Read More” unless you want utter nonsense… and even more rambling after the first rambling is finished…
I know that Payton learns Mandarin in high school as his foreign language credit, because it’s one of the hardest languages to learn (meaning that it’ll look impressive to colleges) and, obviously, so he can be tutored by River, sparking all of their tension.
So, my random thought is, “Thank goodness River didn’t tutor Payton in ASL.”
I, myself, took American Sign Language for two years in high school, taught by a lovely teacher.
One of the first things the teacher taught her students is that to help each other learn the language, we had to be comfortable with helping each other when we sign something incorrectly.
Meaning that we had to be comfortable with (politely and respectfully), moving a person’s hand around. The teacher I had did it to her students, the students moved each other’s hands to help them.
A lot of touching, for the sake of helping our fellow classmates out, as well as being close to a person physically to understand things.
So, it made me think that Payton had an entire crisis with—
This much space between them, just with River correcting his verbal pronunciation, no physical contact (until the kiss duhh) involved.
So the ridiculous point I’m getting at is… Payton would most likely loose his mind with River having to be close to him in order to tutor him, having to touch his hands to help him.
My very critical sister said it would be quote, “So gay but also so cute” so I wanted to throw it to this hellsite. (She is seriously so critical and judgmental of everything so the fact that she likes this stupid thought of mine means something to me)
(Fun unrelated side note: In my sign language class, my teacher had a bunch of magazines for that arts-and-crafts project where you cut out letters and glue them on paper to make words and there was one open magazine on the table. Guess who just so happened to be on the page… Ben Platt during his time in DEH on Broadway! I just thought that was cool.)

im actually a very embarrassing human being a lot of the time and have no clue how to be normal but its whatever and i dont believe in that shit (normal?? hilarious!) anyways. doesnt fit in my philosophy. just like i have a bachelors degree in psychology and the biggest thing i understood from that degree was that we - human persons! - are the one and only creators of these boxes (diagnoses). there is no such thing as anything because it is all understood in terms we have coined in order to describe similarly recurring phenomena -- Well! what else is language! BUT it gets super zany and excitable, when wordcrafting is applied to psychology(or more-so behavior and self analysis) - at that point you can twist and distract yourself beyond truth. i dont know what im saying imstill gettiing used to this distrubution of keys upon the chromebook (junked donated old secondhanded mamadaddy laptop thank you so fucking much to be a donation bin to a family with extra provisions
