FAWY Minis | Ch. 5 (Magnus Rasmodius POV)

Notes: This one’s during the flower dance chapter, as well as 18 and 19!

I never really considered Magnus’ inner dialogue much, mostly just focusing on magicky stuff with him, so I wanted to play around with that. I feel like he’d be a bit insecure, maybe even anxious, when it comes to fitting in, romance, etc. He’s just good at hiding it. I tried to portray that a bit.

Btw, g/n = grandpa’s name. Wasn’t sure if y’all would want a named grandpa or to insert your own grandpa in there, so I kept it customizable to be safe!

It’s her.

It’s… it’s actually her.

I’d overheard the discussion of a new resident moving onto Mooncrest during one of my periodic visits to Gus’ kitchen. I’d heard the assumptions — which I now know to be true, given her appearance — that it was going to be (g/n)’s granddaughter.

How could I not have foreseen how significant she would be to me, though?

Oftentimes the spirits give me somewhat of a hint, a little spark of my senses to let me know if something important is happening. Something worth looking into. Something like this, damn it. A wee reminder to not only be more aware of the world around me outside of my work, but to perhaps take the time and effort to foresee what’s to come in my near future.

I feel a subtle vibration in my fingers.

Are they toying with me? Is that what this is?

Feeling the zaps of their rebuttal through my limbs, I come to the conclusion that they are.

But… why wait..?

More tingling.

That was rhetorical, you obviously can’t answer m—

One last buzz, and I feel the spirits’ presence fade. Sigh.

Cheeky little phenomena, they are. I can only hope to ever commune with them in a plane of existence where we can see one another. For now… I might as well be a loon, telepathically speaking with invisible sprites that communicate through touch above all else.

…As though this scenario as a whole — now paying particular attention to not just my potential daughter, but my soulmate as well, all from a row of particularly bountiful bushes — makes me any less of a loon.

I shake the feeling that I’m being strange and that this is probably unnecessary , and I focus on the task at hand. I still am keen on determining whether or not I’ve any relation to Abigail. No use giving up now that I’m here.

My eyes flit to the girl, her hair as vibrant as my own. She’s laughing with her friends, tentatively sipping the punch I saw Pamela spiking with cheap liquor earlier.

I wish I could get close enough to see if there’s any bit of an arcane link connecting us. I desire answers, damn it, not to spend every chance I get contemplating my lineage while hiding just out of view.

I shut my eyes, rubbing them with a thumb and forefinger.

Just when I believe I can calm my high emotions, my mind wanders to another circumstance that’s haunted me for years. Not nearly as many, but I digress.

For Abigail to be friends with Sebastian was not exactly improbable, but it is funny, in an ironic way.

Of course Abigail would befriend my former apprentice. One I was rather fond of, at that.

I observe him for a moment. It’s rare to see him in anything brightly colored, aside from occasions such as this, where it’s a requirement. He looks quite handsome, if I do say so.

Is it silly of me to wonder if he’s ever thought the same of me? Is this just another instance of my insecurities controlling my thought process? Or is that a normal thing to think about, and I’ve merely forgotten, given how long it’s been since my last romantic endeavor?

That’s unimportant, I suppose.

Although… he must’ve had some reason for abruptly halting his apprenticeship with me.

Perhaps to him I was no more than some wretch living in a tower, far from Pelican Town’s main population for reasons unbeknownst to him. He could have asked, of course, but I wouldn’t exactly put it against him to keep his opinions to himself. I mean, look at me. I don’t resemble any of these townsfolk, do I? And of course here I am, spying on them rather than partaking in their activities firsthand, and I spend most of my time in my home when I could be out here socializing, and I’m sure my lack of socialization with non-elementals could be off-putting.

Sure, those who know of me don’t typically enjoy my presence, but…

I don’t know.

God. Now I’m a loon who’s spying and in a vicious pit of self-hatred that I buried myself in from the outskirts of the event.

Lovely.

Perhaps I should go… I’m not being very productive in my research anyway.

I chance one last look towards our newest farmer. I feel another tingle. A pull to her that’s far too tempting to succumb to. As though I want to just leap onto the field and say something to her. Anything.

How do I even go about getting closer to someone I’ve no reason to commune with? Marie worked at a shop, so it was quite easy to befriend her. The others… I had nary a clue where they were or what they were doing. This is an entirely new situation for me.

The farmer’s eyes flicker to mine. I feel the same thunderous commotion in my limbs and my belly as I did when Marie and I first met. God above, this girl has the same bright flush to her cheeks, the same gentle yet piercing gaze… which is… on me…

Oh.

Shit.

My eyes widen, as do hers.

She appears to be just as compelled to gravitate to me as I am to her. She takes half of a step forward before looking around at the townspeople and securing herself back in her corner. Thank goodness. If she were to come over here, it would only draw more suspicion as to why the resident recluse in the woods is staring at all these people…

“I know that look, Mag.”

I let gaze shift to Linus’ as his words resonate in my head and can practically feel my irises’ change of hue. I’ve been caught by him as well. Thank the spirits he’s a friend — he knows why I’m here.

“You do indeed.”

“So, (y/n), huh?”

Is that her name, then? It’s lovely…

“Yes,” I answer.

“Is it an attraction, or do you think she’s..?”

“Absolutely. Both.”

“Better get going before you freak her out, then.”

“As if I haven’t already, you know damn well she’s looking at me right now .”

He grins huffs out a silent chuckle before turning to face the dancers once more. “I’m just saying, you could be a tad bit more subtle, boy. Go.”

I sigh. I can still feel (y/n)’s eyes boring into me as I teleport back home, feeling morose rather than embarrassed.

Later in the evening, I succumb to my desire to more formally meet her and go through the lengthy, exhausting process of searching into the future.

I’m overjoyed to learn that she’ll come to me. That is far less pressure. It gives me time to prepare, too. To look more presentable, or clean, or… I don’t know. I know I can’t prevent the inevitable, but I don’t want to make the process unenjoyable for either of us, obviously.

When (y/n) eventually does arrive, I’m delighted to learn that not only is she an absolutely lovely being inside and out, but she’s magically inclined as well. I use this as a cover for her impulses to visit my tower:

“One may grow connected to the elements — hence, why you were so heavily drawn toward my abode over time,” I tell her.

It’s not entirely deceitful, and the last thing I want to do is scare her by proclaiming that our destiny brought us to this very moment.

I lean into being “old” and “wise” as well, referring to her and other townspeople of roughly her age as “young.” I overdo it though, I believe, as she calls me out on it. I don’t take any issue in revealing my true age given I’d likely be closer to her age — maybe a decade or so older — if I were a human.

I catch her staring a few times throughout our first meeting. I’ve no way to discern whether it’s due to attraction, or if she’s merely judging me, but it piques my curiosity either way. I probe her thoughts a few times for good measure — which (y/n) calls me out on as well, so I know now that I must show restraint. It’s mostly habitual, and I say that much. She understands.

She seems exceptionally sweet and caring. Awfully curious, for sure. A little strange too, but who am I to judge? I’m rather strange myself. And she’s funny, to boot, unless it’s my own giddiness leading me to assume so.

When she leaves, I’m sure to give her a proper send off. Perhaps it’s dramatic, but I’m inclined to believe she enjoys how eccentric this situation as a whole has been. She seemed awfully giddy herself, at times.

“There are many adventures ahead for you and I,” I project before she wanders too far. “I truly look forward to your company, (y/n).”

ohhh my god this is a long time in the making, ive put this off for so, so long and i really couldn't tell you why. this can act as a script me into ur dr post if you like as well!

occupation: musician (piano, violin, guitar n bass, some drums, and saxophone), poet, author (fiction and nonfiction), actor on occasion, also a comedian that one time

writing based - undedicated musings

(1986-1993)

alright so this is a bit hard to explain, bear with me. undedicated musings is an anonymous newsletter-based poetry... publication? run by me, under the pen name 'chartreuse', and the whole shtick is that i write poetry, love letters, and whatever else to the person i'll end up spending my life with, but the recipient of said writings is completely unknown, even to me, so im kinda just writing to nobody. until! i actually set my eyes on someone (obviously rsl) and then the writings start to get a bit more specific and yearn-y and personal. since the recipient is anonymous, all the writings are written for a 'vermillion'. both chartreuse and vermillion's identities are revealed when we get married in 1993. and no, rsl doesn't know that i'm chartreuse, nobody does until i reveal myself. i think its kinda cool :3

film based - dead poet's society

(1988-1989)

so for starters, i was part of the crew that worked on the set of dead poets society, now all my friends (except kimya, her and i become friends in the late 90s) make sense! my actual job on set is kind of a vague be-here-and-do-a-bit-of-everything type deal, so there's no set title beyond "assistant to lead" even tho it's essentially government assigned 'friendship' LMAO. but! me and the cast get on like a house on fire, so i kinda just get to tag along on their wacky teenage-ish boy adventures. this totally does not stem from a desire to be part of a teenage boy friend group, and i am, in fact, totally cisgender. i am also lying. anyway, without going into too much detail, me and my s/o-not-yet-s/o (will be referring to him as rsl from this point on) sorta have a painstakingly long will they wont they type deal, because i guess i like torturing myself. we meet a day before all the actual film stuff starts just as a sort of preliminary get to know eachother because you'll be in close proximity VERY often for months. thats some time in march - june-ish? of 1988 (i shift to my dr the day before!) and we don't actually get together until june of 1989. so.

also! some changes to the movie because i can make those: knox overstreet is now played by matthew lillard instead of josh charles, because josh charles is a fucking zionist and i dont want to associate with him in any reality! knox also isnt a b plot to the movie at all, instead focusing on meeks and pitts because i find them much more interesting! and also knox's b plot is creepy as hell! also, the racism against natives (read this!) is completely gone! no thanks!

music based - MAURZI

(1988-2004 technically)

strap in boys because this is the main event of this dr and the lore is VAST. MAURZI (must be spelled in all caps, like MF DOOM) is a sort of musical person/character i've made to tell the story of via a series of albums. i release my first single in october of 1988 titled "lunarian", which is a fun little song about a being from the moon arriving on earth and having some inter-planetary culture shock. and thats the only song i've actually planned! i release 6 total albums that map out the MAURZI storyline kinda

- I found Him in Santa Barbara (1995)

- Waterworks (1998)

- also bibliography (2004) but those are released as songs By Me and not MAURZI, just released under the same artist. MAURZI storyline ends with Waterworks.

now here's where you get the very extensive MAURZI lore. MAURZI is a sort of alternate-universe representation of me, where in i'm much more famous than i actually am in my dr, and i am absolutely RUINED by my fame in a fuck ton of ways. each album is a different section of her life so i'll explain it album by album. also for reference, in my dr capitalism/ currency isnt a thing, but in the MAURZI... verse? it is. because i like anti capitalist art! same goes for most other media im in/ participate in, actually. MAURZI uses she/her pronouns btw, i dont.

MAURZI - my self-titled album is about as close and personal to my life as i'll get, which an average amount because i still throw in some songs about shit that i have not at all done/ experienced. (ex. songs about cheating, toxic relationships, and things along those lines. thankfully ive had a mostly healthy relationship with relationships! except that one time!) MAURZI is new to the music scene but she's here to make some lovely tunes to help process some stuff! artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): sarah kinsley, dodie, jeff buckley, tv girl, mitski, and peach pit.

GONE TO SHIT! - MAURZI's first album blew the fuck up! now she's thrown into the midst of dealing with an incomprehensible amount of attention on her at all times, which she was absolutely not prepared for. what does she do to cope? sex drugs and rock n roll, baby! she also gets addicted to 2 outta those 3 things! can you guess which ones?? now, obviously, this album is entirely fictional and is only tangentially inspired by some life events, heavy emphasis on the tangentially. artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): the nonstick pans, panic! at the disco, forest, david bowie, chappel roan, and king gizzard & the lizard wizard.

Charmed - the love song album! this is basically comprised of songs i sorta wrote about rsl, but changed up a fuck ton because i wrote them while i was pining and did Not want him to knkw who they were about. in terms of MAURZI stuff, she meets someone just after deciding that she's gotta clean up her act if she wants to exist healthily. recovering alongside a loved one and them being a motivator for recovery! now i should specify here that MAURZI's s/o is not the same as mine, and is entirely gender neutral/ doesn't even have a canon(?) human appearance at all. they're named Vermillion because we love a callback! artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): the smiths, siouxsie and the banshees, james blake, queen, laufey, and her's.

I found Him in Santa Barbara - yknow how when a banana ripens too much and it starts to tuen brown? yeah imagine that logic but applied to recovery, i guess. NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO REITERATE THAT MAURZI AND I ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND MAURZI IS JUST A CHARACTER. essentially MAURZI had a spiritual awakening and "found god." but what that ACTUALLY means is that she started viewing vermillion as a sort of god? but she's keeping it on the down low (making an album about it) because she doesn't want vermillion to thing she's CRINGE. themes of loving a god, being IN love with a god, being in lust with a god, temporarily thinking youre a god? stuff along those lines. its a bit intense, VERY experimental and.. heavy? both in themes and in musical style for some portions. this is my fav album out of all of them if you couldnt tell. artists im taking inspiration from include (but are not limited to): sleep token, WILLOW, type o negative, slipknot, lemon demon (specifically songs off spirit phone), hozier, violent vira, pierce the veil, gorillaz kinda, bjork, kate bush, deftones, destroy boys, and rammstein probably.

Waterworks - so yknow how MAURZI was having a whole trouble with god moment? yeah well thats gone now, no i haven't figured out how that'll work narratively, thats for me to figure out in like 10 years from now (now being 1988, naturally.) we've returned to our self-titled roots in terms of musical style! now we've just got some fun themes of trauma and such! and then that's the and of MAURZI as a character story wise, as i said earlier the album after this one is just a Me album. same artist inspo as self titled!

and guess what! music lore isnt even fuckin done! my music in this dr is a multiverse in itself goddamn. so basically the album covers for each album tell a completely seperate story about a completely seperate alter ego/ character/ whatever named Moonzi. name given by my audience (which is my excuse for coming up with such a shitty name and then keeping it.) the story of moonzi, without going into too much detail because i dont wanna type it all out, is a sci-fi type story about a being from the moon (lunarian callback!) on a quest to bring this space artifact back to its original place, basically. a bit more on it later, emphasis on a bit. also! each album cover is drawn by a different artist, and each album artist animates one official music video off their respective album, just cuz i like art and stuff! those music videos kinda follow the moonzi storyline loosely, but incorporate MAURZI elements. is this confusing? hope not. drawings!

writing based - novels

can you believe im still not done? like not even close? certified yapper. anyway! my 3 fiction novels (Manchester, NH - 1991, Curator Rye, 1997, Sand Dollars + Pearls - 2008) are about my ocs basically! thats it really, i dont feel the need to share the plots of those tbh.

writing based - autobiographies

two? yep! one is a fictional autobiography about MAURZI (MAURZI - 1999) and one is a non fictional autobiography about me (Radio Free Marley - 2012.) take a shot every time i say MAURZI and you will need to get your stomach pumped. she just. she means a lot to me :3

film based - doctor who

big disclaimer: never seen doctor who. dont know the plot, dont know which doctor i'm gonna be, i just wanna be in it.

so! my version of the doctor is kinda weird. its one doctor, but played by two people, but theyre one person. we're both the doctor. and by we i mean both me and rsl, obviously. the viewer sees the doctor as two different people, but NOBODY ELSE IN THE DAMN SHOW besides our little companion buddy guy (played by my cr friend fish!) SEES, ACKNOWLEDGES, OR IS ABLE TO VIEW THE DOCTOR AS TWO PEOPLE. its really complicated and i really did not have to make it that way, but its cool to me so i really dont care. also we're breakjng the doctor who cycle of boring suit and tie (this is NOT about you 15 <3) and going steampunk-esque. again, cuz i wanna.

film based - house md

(2005 - 2010)

marley veitch be in a show without rsl challenge (failed.) i play a character i made up named Nanette Amesbury who is essentially wilson's first ex wife. does he have a canon first ex wife? think so (i actually havent finished house oops.) do i care? you can take a guess. nanette (nicknamed ninny - which im well aware means dumb) is the director of the pediatrics department at princeton plainsboro and she kinda has a fwb type deal with wilson before figuring out shes a lesbian, having a crush on cuddy, being besties with kutner, then leaving the show in season 6. (zeth if ur reading this yes i made her show up for more than 2 seconds she just. means so much to me. also i want cudbury content.) im also a writer for the show so im there for its entire run time :3 i really like this show :3

film based - moonzi

YEAHHHHH BABY SHES BACK!!! moonzi's storyline gets adapted into an adult swim animated tv show! i do screenwriting, stiryboarding, and voice acting! style wise, think teen titans mixed with bojack horseman mixed with archer. sick space visuals also!

idk i wanted to do a standup special! dunno what it's about. ill leave that up to future me to decide because this isn't happening for 32 damn years and i really just dont wanna come up with a standup special rn.

film based - radio free marley

i wanted a biopic, but i wanted it to be both about me and MAURZI, and how points in my life influenced or inspire songwriting. so the episode structure is like

ep 1: about me, point in my life

ep 2: about MAURZI, point in her life thats sorta related but not entirely to the events in ep 1

ep 3: about me, point in my life

ep 4: about MAURZI, point in her life thats sorta related but not entirely to the events in ep 3

ep 5: you get the idea

and then this goes on for 12 episodes and ends with the MAURZI story wrapping up and with me sorta retiring kinda. dont know when it'll be made, probably at some point in my 60s or whatever. im permashifting if you couldnt tell btw.

and thats it! after all this im just kinda existing and living life and whatever else. so with that outta the way i'll list some fun facts and i'll FINALLY BE DONE JESUS CHRIST IVE BEEN WRITING THIS FOR LIKE 3 HOURS.

- i live in new york city! manhattan to be specific

- i also have a lake house in new hampshire because i Need to be in a rural area at some points

- my house's interior design is very 70s themed and its WHIMSICAL AND FUN! maximalism, whimsigoth, nooks and crannys to be in, fun and varied seating options, conversation pit, loft bedroom, whole 9 yards. ive also got a gazebo on my roof!

- i have 2 siblings in my dr (not here im an only child in my cr womp womp) named lia and monty, theyre my best friends in my cr!

- ive also got a cat! she's a ragdoll kitty named yvonne, shes a sweetheart!

- i scripted out light pollution so the sky is all pretty at night, highly recommend you do the same

- im in STOMP at one point, dont know or care when, i just wanna be in it

- robin williams........... he is a father figure to me................ sniff sob

- yes i scripted out his death i simply cannot deal with that

You probably answered this but I couldn't find it. But what skins do you use? Like your sims are beautiful and I just need to know. I know you said something about ThisIsThem skins and I use them too but your sims faces look different. Sorry this is probably a stupid question.

Hi! I do use thisisthem! If I use a thisisthem overlay I’ll pair that with an mm overlay on top of it to soften the alpha-like details. And I usually pair more than 1 mm overlay.

It really depends on the mm overlay cause some won’t layer on top of the alpha ones or some have a very high opacity that just hides the alpha detailing completely. (Doesn’t mean the cc is bad or they made a mistake btw)

I also play with color sliders mod and will use a bunch of mm overlays and skin details then use an alpha skin on top but would turn the opacity down almost all the way.

in the channel list, there is a channel called beeesss and a thread called beeessss submissions where you can find a whole bunch of visual modifications!

Also check the Chinese mods channel as well, there are even more visual mods there that look soooooooo nice! I wish i could give you a list but it's really hard to narrow it down to just a few so I hope the discord helps better than I can!!

Of course, I'd be happy to post about my experience for Umineko so if you have any specific you want to hear my thoughts on June send in an ask! (Just keep in mind to keep the question limited to the first two episodes!)

For this post though I suppose I can talk about how I got interested in Umineko and then started playing it myself. I'm sure like a lot of other people they were probably familiar with Higurashi: When They Cry. While I never watched the anime or read the visual novel for it I was at least aware of the series.

I knew Higurashi from the anime it had in the early 2000s. I didn't know the anime was based on the visual novel of Higurashi. (I've also heard the anime was pretty accurate to the visual novel.) I did know because of its reputation for being so violent.

But besides that, I didn't get into it myself I'm not sure why. But I dunno maybe I just wasn't interested in it? Because I knew of it anime first I probably just put it on my watch list but never got around to it. (This was all years ago btw so I've known about Higurashi for a while now.)

But around this year around Spring, I did end up finding out about Umineko by this video!

It just kept on appearing in my YouTube recommendations and then after that more Umineko OSTs started showing up in my YouTube Recommend. Those are The Girls Witch Hunt, Fake Red Shoes, Liberated Liberator, System 0, and Worldend Dominator.

So through these videos, I ended up finding that they were all from Umineko! Not only Umineko but Umineko: When They Cry so I found it was from the same series. From mostly the Featherine song I ended up getting interested in her as a character. So she was one of the reasons I wanted to play Umineko as she's the reason I got into it.

While I knew little to know nothing about her she seemed cool and I wanted to know more about her. (Unfortunately, I did get spoiled about her but not about everything. And nothing for the rest of the visual novel so I'm still spoiler-free free thankfully.)

So after making a post on Reddit, I decided I'd end up playing Umineko first then Higurashi after. Thankfully you don't need to play Higurashi before Umineko so I was fine with jumping right into Umineko.

My laptop was kinda like dying...so I waited until I got a new one before I'd start playing Umineko. Then I went through learning about The Umineko Project mod and everything about that and how to download it. So that's how I'm experiencing Umineko through that mod and I'm glad I did cuz it's amazing!

But yeah that's all I have to say! Cuz after that I got into playing or well I guess reading but you know the same thing really. So that's what led up to me playing and getting interested in it!

Saw that you asked for a timeline a couple weeks ago ab her ex! I was around since the start of Tina officially streaming (among us era being 3 yrs ago wtf…) but I remember the timeline of Tina and her ex relationship, when she met everyone, kina timeline, etc.

December 2020:

- Tina and Karl first meet in one of the otv among us lobbies, they were very silly funny and got along quickly

- That same day they followed each other on socials, and subbed to each other on twitch; karl tweeted to her that they should play more games (bonded over shared interests)

- They played and interacted in the big OTV rust server

January 2021:

- Karl gift 50 subs to Tina, and she also mods him

- Karl who was in Tina’s chat and she asks him to join the lobby she was in

- Tina tweeted that she was cold and Karl suggested she buy a scarf that he also owns so they can match (she did buy it)

- Karl joins tina art streams

Feb 2021:

- Corpse Karl and Tina made a discord vc where they hang out, talk and play games offline (they named it ‘not live’)

- Karl told Tina he’s watched her youtube vids and he knows her impostor tells

- Salad gang gets formed by corpse; they all always hang and talk in the middle of the night

- Tina’s ex tweeted that they broke up on 3/2, and tina takes almost two weeks off from streaming

I’m gonna open a word doc and just. Write until I understand what I mean by this.

At some point if you understand the fact gender is a social construct, you get to decide what that means to you. Great!!

I’m autistic, which means my brain didn't come with all of the standard operating software pre-installed, and I had to write a good chunk of it. That was annoying as hell but I can provide you with some info from learning how to human second hand.

Note:re: Program humanOS: EVERYTHING HUMANS DO IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT. Nothing, and I mean nothing, that humans think is normal behavior /is normal/. You get it pre installed so it feels normal.

There was a lot of lag between realizing I needed the womanOS upgrade to be able to join the peer network and when I finished writing it. (Once you first upgrade, it's “uncool” read:contact failure/system no longer supported to contact the old girlOS.)

By the time I’d managed to throw a functional outline program together, I was a few updates behind and my old network didn't work.

So I played with the outline until I liked it. Dialed the vibe to /sweet good girl/ which helped me figure out that a 1950s visual mod updated my network connection within the required range of /feminine:contact network/ to get to the network without flagging /queer:run bigot/. I’m running everything out of a white/cis/small mainframe, so that helps to trip /sweet good girl:run manners/.

I did it in a way that didn’t trip the /sex object/ subroutine by tripping /weird:run artsy/ which sometimes does trip /Queer/ coming around from the other end in a way that sometimes lets me onto the Queer network, which is cool.

I might belong there honestly? gender is fake so if/than that means everyone counts as queer. if you don’t know what someone’s running for a gender that doesn’t change that you wanted to contact them in the sexlife network.

Thankfully for me, my mainframe doesn't look like actresses do in movies, so the sex life network didn’t engage until I had some opinions about how to run it. I probably got some pings from that system but I couldn't run them back to know who sent it and why and honestly it didn't happen often enough that I could see for me to care.

TLDR - I run an outdated feminine program that used to require more manners subroutines and it’s working for my mainframe white/cis.

Re: unfortunately required adult upgrade: girl and woman are two very different programs btw. Your childhood gender OS hopefully matches your adult upgrade.

Currently, I'm reminiscing about how I was easily in the Top 10 of all the Parkour Fortress players (a mod for Team Fortress 2) back before the original Slag servers went down in 2018.

btw. MechaTheSlag was the old handle for the director of A Hat in Time, and I only heard of the game because of other server members talking about that lol

Anyhow, I would have solidly been in the Top 5, but I never learned the intricacies of the newer maps in the last year the servers were up. That's because I was sort of the "black sheep" of the top players, where everything I learned was either self-taught, or I saw someone execute the trick mid-run. Beyond door boosting, nobody taught me a single trick I used.

iirc I had a stranglehold on the record times for pf_pink and pf_redux.

I think my talent with this mod is the reason why I became so interested in both SSBM and speedrunning, and even how I interact with them.

Like, when playing games at a high level, most people get into the flow state just from repetition, visuals, and execution. If they hear the game's audio, it actually brings them out of the flow state. But as for myself, I can't distract myself with music, or with listening to a podcast. I need the game's audio to keep me into the flow state. And I think I'm like that just because of the sheer number of hours I put into Parkour Fortress without audio distractions.

idk. since there are now actually leaderboards for the revival project of the mod, I wanna give it a second round and see how much skill I've retained, and how much it the level of play has grown as a whole. The map pool has like doubled or tripled in size, so I'd have a lot of new maps I'd need to learn that I definitely don't have the time to. But maybe I can still rock pink and redux.

every time I start up fallout 76 to finally make my character, I turn it off because I want to make a character as cool as yours and I can't come up with anything yet.

i first made up hatchet when i was 17, and i still wore a bag on my head for a hundred levels. 90% of her premise came after i started playing 76, and she's covered in obscure cosmetics and fandmade visual mods

i think you should settle on a square-one premise and spend time with your character. give them preferences and values, and let their fiction come naturally as you discover new things about the fiction and the region.

if you're on pc, you're welcome to hook up with me and my friends, you could develop a position relative to us. @mallowmaenad 's oc is a sketchy purveyor, and having her interact with my character gave her instant context in appalachia. we could even just brainstorm over discord, if you're on console 🌸

btw, face editing is totally unlocked in 76, it's a menu option, so don't fret it!

Dead People Don't Glow

This mod removes the skin overlay from all vampires in game so that they will have regular looking skin and their eyes no longer glow. It does not affect thumbnails or CAS.

V2 for patches 1.36 - latest

This mod removes the glow overlay from vampires. It has several flavors - you can remove the glow only from eyes, only from skin, or from both.

For some reason EA has decided to "fix up" the vampire overlay every time live mode is started. My mod will listen to the same events and remove the overlay right after it is set. For that reason the overlay will be visible for couple of seconds every time you go to buy/build mode or CAS and when you start the game. As the events that set the overlay happens so often I did not bother to listen when new vampires are created. The newborns may have glow overlay for some time. If that happens, just enter buy/build mode or CAS to fix it.

If you want the vampire overlay back, just rip the mod off and the overlay will be back in a minute. Or at least right after you enter buy/build mode or CAS.

This is a very light mod and there is near zero probability that it will conflict with any mod.

This mod only removes the overlay. For removing the vampire tattoos etc. I recommend the sHoNi's Vampire Overhaul mod.

When I was writing this blog post, I did some googling and found out that Velocitygrass has a mod that actually does the same thing. I wish I had known about that mod and saved myself the trouble of making mine. But as I already wrote mine, I am going to publish it. It will then be your choice whether to use this mod or Velocitygrasses.

Hello! Here’s Part 6 of my new 8bitdo gamepad, the Pro 2 Bluetooth Gamepad/Controller! 🎮😁

And in this part, I'm now attempting to do a button & gameplay test, with my new 8bitdo gamepad on PC via Bluetooth connection courtesy of Ugreen USB Bluetooth Adapter.🎮🖥️📶 I've been waiting for this for a long time, so let's see if it's better than my old SN30 Pro+ gamepad.

So, without further ado, let's get started:

My Experience:

• Well, as I said, I'll be testing my new 8bitdo gamepad via Ugreen USB Bluetooth. To pair my 8bitdo Pro 2, I toggle to the letter "X" for Windows PC, located at the back of the controller. For those who don't know, the letter "X" is "X-Input" / "Xbox Controller". Then hold press the "Start" button to power on which you'll see two lights lit, and then the sync button, same long-press as the "Start" button. Now, switch over to PC & click "Add new device" (be sure to click "Bluetooth"). Once that, we'll wait until the name "8bitdo Pro 2" shows up & click pair. Now my new 8bitdo gamepad is paired to my PC, time to do a button test with the gamepad tester [CLICK ME!] website before I'll play some games!

• In the Gamepad-Tester website, I start with two analog sticks, they're both very responsive & functional without a single problem (e.g. joystick drift). 👌 Shoulder buttons are pretty good, as well as analog triggers. The D-pad is pretty good albeit mushy, however, not the way I like. I'll talk about it later once I reach the gameplay test. Both L3, R3 & face buttons are very clicky, whereas heart-shaped & star buttons are the same function as the old predecessor (SN30 Pro+). Although, you can't see it. I also try the turbo function by holding the start button & pressing any button(s) (except select & start) and look, the Pro 2's right light is white instead of blue from SN30 Pro+. In my opinion, I prefer the blue ring light (from SN30 Pro+) over the white one (from Pro 2). Just saying. As for the back buttons, they're not present in the gamepad-tester, because I didn't set these buttons yet, that goes for the profile switch button, too. I'll be saving it for another part. But right now, I'll just leave it & move on to my gameplay test with PC & emulator games.

BTW: One notable thing for the Pro 2 gamepad was immediately connected after pairing with my PC. Meaning a very fast & reliable connection compared to my old SN30 Pro+. But, that's just via Bluetooth connection plugged through PC, so hopefully that my USB Wireless Adapter will have the same.

My Gameplay Test:

• So far, I played all of my emulator games if not everyone due to questionable unrecognizes (, which somehow worked soon after? Weird.🤨), as well as my two GTA games (Standalone San Andreas & GTA V Online) with my new 8bitdo gamepad. My result is the same function & grip as the old predecessor (not to mention my sweaty hands & hefty feeling after hours of gameplay ✋🤚💦⚖️🎮🖥️), BUT I have one concern if not a problem. Remember what I said that "the Pro 2’s D-pad doesn’t feel the same as my SN30 Pro+’s D-pad" in Part 2 [CLICK ME!]? Yeah, that's how I predict. On top of that, the Pro 2's D-pad is quite tight when I move using my left thumb compared to the opposite coin of the SN30 Pro+'s D-pad. Or maybe It's just me, I shouldn't pick the "Gray Edition" instead of the same edition color as my old 8bitdo gamepad. But here I am, I just want to pick different. *shrug* 🤷 Well, all that aside, I'm doing an experiment with the D-Pad while playing Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland on the Visual Boy Advance (a GBA emulator). For this experiment 🥽🎮, I'm attempting the back & forth run via a double tap on the left & right d-pad, and the result was very stiff & sometimes missed the double press with my left thumb, making it very finicky. 😕 Unless, if I can swap the Pro 2's d-pad to my old SN30 Pro+'s d-pad 🤔, but nah. For now, I rather skip the custom mod controller. ✋ Other games that I've played such as Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense (PS1), GT2 (PS1), run & gun, and Shoot'em up genres that involve d-pad usage was surprisingly well, yet requiring a bit of push due to silent mush. Regardless of what I said or from my experiment, the d-pad from Pro 2 is A-Okay for me, I might get used to it after long hours of gameplay. As for other buttons, analog triggers & sticks they're pretty exactly the same as the SN30 Pro+ (back in 2020). As for the wireless connection with Bluetooth, it's pretty stable without any downside. 👍

Overall:

• The 1st test with Bluetooth connection (courtesy of Ugreen) gets a pass! While the functionality of the Pro 2 was damn great, regardless of the aforementioned sturdy d-pad. And so far, I don't encounter some malfunction issues, but here's hoping that my new Pro 2 gamepad will be stable on my first-day test. 🙂👍 So, I'll keep playing & hopefully I'll have my update on the next part.
