“Daddy, you need to hurry up!”
Yujin stands in the kitchen door and bops up and down like an excited puppy. She’d surely swing her tail around wildly if she were a dog, but that is besides the point. You’re still tired from stressful phone calls the night before. Doesn’t help that it’s still very early in the morning. If the sun hasn’t bothered showing up yet, why should you.
"Do we have to go watch this performance? They film these things so early all the time," you groan in annoyance and sip at your coffee.
"Daddy, please?” Yujin begs with folded hands and sparkling eyes. “It will be so nice to see Chaewon and Sakura perform again. I really like their new song and you will too!"
When Yujin plays nice, it means she really wants something. This is close to a girl asking her Daddy for something—this comes too close to all the family stuff she has you fantasizing about lately. Try not to spit out your coffee and frantically wave your hand.
"Fine, we'll go. But I expect some pleasure when we get home,” you add with raised eyebrows and Yujin winks. “I have yet to meet Chaewon. Everyone describes her as lovable."
"Chaewon-unnie won't disappoint you. She sure is loveable. However, I think that she is showing new sides to herself."
"Sure, whatever. I'll set Hyewon up to go to the meeting then."
"Thank you so much, Daddy."
"Now look for a nice dress," you say, eyes roaming Yujin’s pajama-covered curves, "Only I get to see you like this."
"Of course, Daddy. I always wear outfits just for you… I think you'll like today's too."
Yujin starts to undress. The dress is still in her room, but the pajamas fall off her slender figure already. You can never get enough of this extraordinary sight. You might be a bit pressed for time, but as you look over your naked Yujin, your lust gets the better of you.
"I want you now, baby girl. Call for Minju too. No reason you two shouldn't be sucking my cock right now."
Yujin turns around on her heel and immediately kneels on the floor. Her hands rest idly on her lap and she gives you a hellish, seductive grin before calling out her former bandmates name:
"Minju-unnie~ come here a-s-a-p."
Tumblr media
You hear steps coming from further down the floor. They are not normal steps, but rather from someone who was caught by surprise and stumbles towards you. A faint creak, Minju rushes from the bathroom to you and she quickly stops right next to Yujin. You eye the fresh make-up on her cheeks and light lipstick on her luscious lips. Sadly, you can't eye her naked body in all its glory, because she tries to cover most of it with her hands.
"Y-yes, Yujinie?" Minju asks shyly, trying not to stare down at Yujin’s immaculate body too much.
"I think Daddy wants something~"
Yujin's eyes narrow and she begins to stick out her tongue to show lots of drool pooling on it. She gradually crawls towards you, sticking out her bubble butt and shaking with blatant want. She is giving it her all to be desirable, submissive and still punishable.
"Wh-what does Daddy need?" Minju asks kindly and turns to you. Make-up or not, her cheeks are rosy from embarrassment. She is still, even after a couple of weeks, not used to being in full nude before you, although she committed so willingly after you made her yours.
You grab the hand covering Minju's pussy while Yujin finally reaches your tight pants and rubs her cheek onto the bulge with a purr. Yujin's fingers play with your zipper while yours play with Minju's clit. You flick it lightly once, then rougher. Tears glisten and sparkle in narrow eyes, and you look deeply into the mess Minju is slowly becoming. However, her arm still crosses her chest and hides her breasts.
"Daddy needs you, Minju, because you are his. I think we agreed on this, so show me your amazing body."
Her labia is wet to the touch, thus inserting a finger is easy. Minju tenses up for a second, but when you kiss her cheek, she relaxes and you plunge two more fingers into her. She screams out, but you plug her mouth the same way: three digits, hilt deep in a wet hole of hers. It’s like pushing all the right buttons to deactivate Minju’s resolve. Her arm falls from her chest. Finally, she is a bare feast for you.
"You can do better, Minmin," you say with a slight sigh of disappointment at the end. Your fingers move in and out of Minju faster and faster. In the meantime, Yujin takes a long ass time to free your length. It's probably because you are focused not on her but on teaching Minju a lesson, but this is no reason to keep you waiting. Yujin has no right to deny you your pleasure, yet she still finds ways to subtly tease you.
Remove your fingers from Minju's mouth and let her moan and whimper freely as she begins to grind on your deeply buried digits that twist and turn inside her hot walls. With your now free hand, you pull out your cock, much to Yujin's surprise, and slap it across her face. It's a shame that you have to give them a small punishment before you can get to the main course, but it's also not bad. Training puppies is more fun than you ever thought.
"I-I'm so-sorry, Daddy," Minju cries out and falls to her knees. It’s the only way to escape your fingers, however, it’s not a way to escape your rule. You immediately slap her face with your cock as well, until she finally sticks out her tongue, which Yujin instinctively does. The younger one has already stained the floor with her runny saliva, so before she ruins it entirely, you put your cock on her lips. You could call it a plug.
"Lube it up, bitch! Show me what your mouth is really useful for,” you groan at Yujin, then shift your attention to Minju. "Minmin, I called you here because I wanted you to join us, but you still have to learn a lot. I pray for your sake that you don’t stretch my patience intentionally. Get some saliva from Yujin and help her lube it up—or go back to your room!
Oh, and Yujin: if you want to go to Chaewon's performance, you'll be a good girl, right?"
"Yes, Daddy!" the younger shouts.
"N-no, Daddy," her unnie whimpers cutely.
Two very different answers, but both are exactly what you want to hear. Minju makes a cute face while gathering saliva in her mouth and gets ready to kiss your cockhead. When Yujin turns to her however, ready to give some of her drool, Minju becomes a flushing mess. In panic, she misses Yujin’s lips and releases her collected drool all over her friend's cheek.
Guess her feelings are quite strong for her ex-group members.
Minju's saliva trails down Yujin's face and chin and the latter can't help but giggle. Not in her usual cute and cheerful way, but in a lewd, horny way. Yujin grabs Minju's tomato-colored head and finds her lips in a furious make-out session. The klutz is wide eyed at first, but she melts into Yujin, the Dongsaeng she so loves and her eyelids fall shut. Dams break and the flow of drool is like a raging torrent from one mouth to the other. You line yourself up right next to it.
Yujin frees herself and releases everything from her mouth. A skilled tongue wets almost your entire manhood, from your base to all over your balls and underside. Minju follows suit and her cute mouth releases a waterfall as well. It covers your tip and the remaining dry skin without fail. They both begin to spread and massage the lubricant all over your rigid shaft and full balls, making you groan deeply. Fucking finally.
"Minju, you look so cock drunk," you mock her. "I bet you are staining the floor with your stupidly sweet juices already."
"Swowwy, Daddy,” she babbles with no regard for manners as her mouth is stuffed with your rod.
"Are you sorry though?"
Yujin gives a strong suck on your balls; it’s more like she leaves a message. She is fed up with being ignored. Her lips pucker around every one of your most sensitive parts. She knows your cock inside out, of course. After all, it has been inside of her more time than she has had promotions—just how she likes it.
You snarl nonetheless.
You don't let Minju answer as you push your tip deeper into her mouth, letting her suck it gently. You pet Yujin's head to signify you knew she was there. A surprise that it works. You really did break her back there. No bratty words, no teasing pout, just diligent stimulation of her Daddy’s dick.
Minju's cock sucking is always a sloppy affair. Her feisty face with glassy orbs is always a wonderful sight as she tries to shove it all inside her. She is still lacking however. You are sure this will not tip you over the edge, although she is able to extract precum from your slit with her quick tongue. The biggest issue is that she is scared to take the massive thing, shove it down her throat herself. Minju is not on the same sluttiness level as her Dongsaeng, who would gladly fuck herself on you until tears fall down—for a meal, for shoes, for a meeting with her Unnies.
"Fuck, it's not enough," you groan in slight anger and slide your hand from Yujin's sweaty hair to Minju's brown locks. Grip them tightly to force her head down your phallus. Her forehead crashes onto your pelvis. Minju chokes, you groan, Yujin gasps.
"Minmin… you need more training. I'm losing patience, fuck,” you curse. This should have been an easy and casual affair, breezy and mindless but it takes effort to train Minju. If she wasn't so cute with a fuckable body, your hospitality would certainly expire at some point. Now, she is basically family, and you are willing to help her be a good girl, a good slut. Family, s-sure.
Doesn’t matter if you call yourself family, you push deeper against her throat anyways. She is here for your use. Yujin meanwhile keeps trying to put your balls in her mouth, down her throat almost, as if her life depends on it. Yujin is learning to share, with her mommies, with her sister, with her family. Not again, fucking family.
"Daddy, if she can't take it, then I'm ready. Ready to fulfill your desire."
Yujin’s purr pulls you out of your disturbingly hot thoughts. She pouts on your balls, her desperately pleading, yet sharp eyes watching you from below. She massages your thighs with her soft fingers, slobbers all over your balls and moans in her most delicate voice. Yujin doesn't only want attention, she wants to win and is determined to be the perfect, disgustingly drooling slut for you. Rivalry between siblings?
"Shut up! You better help your unnie get better at it. Maybe you'll get some reward, but that is out of your control."
This is the moment where she would usually roll her eyes, but Yujin is a changed girl now—or is she hiding her annoyance? Either way, Yujin backs off behind Minju, who chokes on your cock whenever you pull her closer to your crotch. Tears and sweat of her struggle cover her face, yet she still doesn’t get it.
Your grip on Minju's hair loosens when Yujin's fingers seductively crawl up Minju's neck to the top of her head. The older girl gets goosebumps and wide eyes at the sensation and then shrieks. Yujin has her long, healthy locks in a tight grip.
"Unnie," she says in a bitchy and unamused tone, something very rare these days. "I really love you, but you're doing this wrong. Let me help."
What follows somewhat negates the fact that Yujin just told Minju that she loves her. With unexpected roughness, she starts to slam down the elders face onto your pelvis. Minju's forehead forcefully touches your abdomen and your dick breaks every barrier in her throat to reach deep into her. She gargles on her own spit for a second and chokes like it would actually save her from the massiveness blocking her air flow.
"Like. This. Unnie. Down."
Yujin pulls Minju back at her hair and with each new word she mimics a deep throating motion only a goddess of cocksucking could manage—and Minju is definitely no goddess at it yet. She tries her best to take it, to go at the pace herself, but Yujin just goes faster. It's impossible for her to adapt to the speed, but for you, this struggle is an even greater joy.
"Oh God, this is good. Actually fucking good!"
You groan and smile with the confidence of someone who has earned this and the more you think about it, the further you feel validated. Your hands cannot remain idle, they want to reach for Minju's hair. Yujin however gives you no reason to do so, and so you dig your fingers into hers, those perfect brown strands on this perfect bitch.
"Train her well, Yujin."
"I will, Daddy."
"Good. Open your mouth."
Yujin smiles greedily, the cock hungriness of a million horny sluts in her eyes. Her grip on Minju loosens and you give the beautiful, ruined klutz a chance to breathe. Minju falls to the floor coughing and spitting, her makeup everywhere but their original position.
Your girlfriend's mouth opens invitingly. Your length disappears inside her and you burst at the distinctive, perfect touch of her tongue. Yujin's eyes are bright and wide open as she receives the gift of validation, of triumph over your adoration for Minju. More than a mouthful of cum, enough to satisfy her hunger and encourage her cock drunkness.
"You need more training," you calmly say to Minju while patting Yujin as she cleans your dick. "Otherwise Daddy will be disappointed."
"I... I understand, Daddy. D-do you stil—”
"Don't ask such a question,” you interrupt her firmly, but with more care and love than you ever did before.  “I'm sure you will do good next time, hm?"
"Y-yes, Daddy."

No matter how rich you are, you cannot control time. Hours fly by and the meet-up you promised Yujin to go to arrives faster than you wanted. You had to control yourself after seeing your girlfriend's outfit, that amazing dress showing off her body incredibly well. It looked as hot as her bare body, maybe even better in a way.
Control over your urges becomes better with boring people around you. The directors, cameramen and managers get easily fooled by Yujin's act. Yujin remains professional, no one can assume any kind of special or weird relationship between the two of you. A simple meeting, they don’t even ask you a single question. Is it really this easy to get behind the scenes of such a shoot?
After the boring introductions are over, you get ready for new, more fun ones.
First off is Sakura. The second she sees Yujin and you exit the conference room with all the managers, she leaves her bandmates behind and runs over. Her upper body is covered by a pink blanket to keep her warm, but below it you see hints of a white stage outfit. Baggy trousers and some kind of crop top.
The smaller Sakura stands before her Dongsaeng and gets in position to bow down, but Yujin quickly embraces her. With glee she shouts:
"Unnie, I missed you so much! It's been so long."
"Yujinnie, were you always this tall?"
"Yah! You sound like a grandma."
The two of them start to giggle and you give them a weak smile. The others should not catch you being suspicious, so you look around the vast hall. A very simplistic set, mostly colored in gray. In between the expensive camera equipment and handful of staff, you eye another person clothed in white. Your jaw begins to fall as you inspect the revealing outfit and incredible body more and more. This is definitely sluttier than anything Yujin ever wore in any of her stages.
You cough and look back down to your girlfriend who is still giggling and chatting with Sakura. The two of them are holding hands and you see Yujin's eyes sparkle in happiness. Good for her, definitely, but your cockhead is already urging you to think of someone else. Who is wearing this loose, insane collection of white stripes barely hiding anything?
"Oh shoot, we're about to perform," Sakura gasps and quickly hugs Yujin. Before she leaves, she gives you an unmistakable wink and a classic, beautiful smile, "Thank you for coming!"
"Unnie, fighting!"
"Glad to see you enjoying yourself," you whisper, but Yujin puts a finger on your lips.
"You don't want to miss this. I'm pretty sure Chaewon will be to your liking."

“Impurities / show you my impurities.”
"Cut!” the director shouts as the girl group members still stand there, frozen in the final pose of their dance. “Well done! We'll wrap things up for today."
Everyone cheers and claps, the shoot went excellent. Yujin besides you joins in as well, even the last random staff sitting in the corner applauds.
Everyone except you. You are completely feral. All because of this one fucking girl, with her short black hair in stark contrast to her slutty white outfit. All because she has to look so fucking hot while dancing this already provocative dance. All because of her fucking impurities. You almost lose your cool and reach for Yujin's ass, but this is not the time, not the place, not even for this. Fucking Chaewon, fuck.
Chaewon walks over and screeches when she sees her beloved Dongsaeng. Unlike with Sakura, the two of them immediately crash into one another and exchange hugs, jokes and all the banter they can come up with. This time, you are unable to look away for long. Chaewon's ass has its own gravity. It pulls your gaze back every time you notice how long you've been staring.
"Unnie, you are so good! And you look so good! This is going to be such a hit," Yujin babbles.
"You are one to talk," Chaewon responds in delight. "You have grown to become a beautiful woman. I bet you will make someone really happy one day."
Yujin grins and whispers directly into Chaewon's ear. From your point of view, it's impossible to understand anything, let alone read her lips. After a short while, Chaewon backs out of the hug. The situation has grown tense, cold even, but it gets even colder for you when Chaewon suddenly walks up to you. She stares—not into your eyes, but straight to your soul.
"You fucking pig."
"Excuse me?"
"You are disgusting. I swear to God, if you do anything fucked up... I'm going to fuck you up so bad, until you—ugh!"
Chaewon’s sentence is cut off by a disgusted gag. She stomps away quickly, her face filled with despise and harsh anger. The sway of her hips is even stronger than before now, which disturbs your feelings. Confusion and horniness force you to stand and ogle her bubble butt while your heart cannot comprehend these conflicting emotions inside you.
"What the fuck was that?" you whisper to Yujin, as she guides you out of the studio. "What the hell did you tell her that she would get this pissed?"
"Look," Yujin says, her tone far from playful and bratty, much closer to serious and guilty. "I knew that you would get the hots for her, but I didn't know that she would hate the idea so much."
"Which idea? What did you tell her, Yujin?"
The two of you flee towards your car to get some actual privacy. You can't raise your voice to her in public after all, although now might be the perfect time. Depending on what she just told Chaewon, literally everything could be in deep shit.
"Chill, Daddy, I told her that you are my boyfriend and that we'd like to have a threesome with her. Nothing too crazy, just something to sooth her in."
"And?"
"I-I mentioned the Daddy kink… and a b-bit more, you-you know?"
You sigh and put on your seatbelt. The engine roars and you start to race towards your apartment. Whatever Yujin means by ‘a bit more’, it made Chaewon seriously angry, which could make things bad for you quickly. Your mind tries to find a good response or solution to it, at the very least, you should find a punishment for Yujin that suits her stupid behavior.
A red light makes you hit the breaks. Yujin's hand immediately travels to your thigh and massages it. Coldly, you slap it away.
"Get in the backseat. I need to find a solution to this. And you better help me think, slut."
Yujin obediently climbs over the center console and positions herself in the middle of the back row. Through the rearview mirror, you see her in her gorgeous black dress with those sexy black stockings and her ruinable hair, make-up, face. You click your tongue as the lights turn green.
"Daddy, I'm sorry,” Yujin stutters to defend herself. “To-to be honest, I was convinced Chaewon—l-look, I relied on her being needy and desperate. A-and because you are so hot, I thought she was down for it."
"Undress."
"Wh-what."
"You heard me right, bitch. Get out of that dress. Slowly. I want to see what I own."
Yujin nods hesitantly. Her fingers fidget at the silky hem of her expensive dress and she begins to slowly pull up. Goosebumps of fear and excitement spread over her pale skin. She knows that those side windows are tainted, but the front is of course still wide open. Anyone could catch the unlikely, yet possible glimpse of her bare body if she continues this.
"Go on, " you snark in excessive annoyance, "Either give me a solution or get rid of that dress."
"I-I, " Yujin stutters. You hit the breaks at another red light and stare through the mirror. Your eyes lock and before you can order her to go full nude, she jumps in realization.
"Minju! I-I know a way, Daddy!"
"What?"
"Uhm... Minju is, if you remember from our punishment game, ve-very much into Chaewon, a-and as far as I know, Chaewon feels the same."
"So?" you say impatiently, fingers tipping the top of the steering wheel. The light turns green. You hit the throttle and as the Mercedes accelerates, you can hear Yujin's plan play out in your head. Guess she won't have to drive around naked.
At least not this time.

"Step 1: Get Minju and Chaewon to be on a call."
Tumblr media
The plan starts off easy. All it takes for this to happen is for you and Minju to be home at the same time, which happens quite frankly. After all, Minju is not an actively training idol anymore and Hyewon is doing a good job right now, so you can stay at home with no worries. Now you only need to find a fitting moment.
Minju walks into the kitchen. Some sixth sense inside your crotch tells you to take the opportunity. Right now, now or never, a perfect time frame, whatever you may call it, it's enough to make you jump up and follow the naked beauty. Minju reaches for one of the upper shelves, a cookie box on top of it. She looks adorable, trying to grasp the metal frame of the colorful box. You grab her waist from behind and sit her on the opposite counter top. For no reason, you press a kiss on her lips.
"Huh? D-Daddy?"
"Fuck, you are beautiful. Uhm, did you want the cookies."
"Y-yeah, i-if I may."
"Of course."
You grab one of them and give it to her. As she begins to happily much on it, you give her her cellphone.
"Can you call Chaewon?"
"Chaewon-unnie? Why?"
"Well... I'm pretty sure she misses you. And it's shortly after noon, so she’s probably on a break right now."
You press your hands into Minju's thighs, massaging them, spreading them, while getting close to her face and whispering:
"Don't you want to see her again? Maybe set up a meeting to kiss?"
Minju blushes. She tries to hide her face, an odd visual as her whole body is in full nude and her pussy more and more visible from your spreading her legs. Nonetheless, she still searches for Chaewon's number and calls her the second the last cookie crumbs tumble down her throat.
"Unnie! This is Minju! Yes. Yes, I miss you too. We haven't talked in forever."
The two of them engage in a lively conversation immediately. Minju is engaged, distracted, as you predicted. Her beautiful smile and giggles as she gets teased are so endearing, you feel a little bad for using her.
"Step 2: Let Chaewon hear how good you make Minju feel."
Minju's legs are spread. She is not completely oblivious to it, as she gives you concerned glances, but she does not close them. She really became a good girl, so you will treat her like one. Grab her thighs and adjust her on the surface, then lower yourself to her crotch.
"U-u-unnie, I..."
You blow on Minju's pussy and then dive tongue-first into the pink, twitching entrance.
Your taste buds get a taste of what she seems to be leaking all the time and you can't lie: it's addicting. Her juice is like honey, but a lot less tenacious and easily consumable. With your tongue spreading her lips, you get a good amount of it and she is obviously unable to understand what Chaewon is saying.
You enjoy her taste, but her odor might be even better. She smells fresh like a rose and needy like the good girl she is slowly becoming for her Daddy. You could sniff her for longer, but the time is ticking. Chaewon won't stay on the phone forever after all, so you drag your tongue over Minju's labia. Her legs jerk lightly and she whimpers softly, softer than her folds. Those folds get greedily attacked by your licks, the left side, the right side, then all over. A first moan is imminent, and Minju releases it right into the speaker.
"Minmin?" Chaewon asks worriedly, "Are you alright?"
"Y-yes, I—hng, ah!"
Suck on her clit and Minju's phone tumbles out of her hand. You quickly pick it up and put it against her mouth. Chaewon shall hear every sound, every pant, every sexy moan from Minju's pretty lips.
"Minmin, what's happening?"
"I-It's okay, hng, it feels so go-good, ah!"
Minju's hand in your hair is unsure if it should push you away from her twitching core or deeper into it. Her thighs however are a lot more honest. They press down on your ears from each side. The more viciously you lick and suck, the less gentle they become.
"What feels good? Wait, are you masturbating? During a call?!"
"N-no, I, " Minju stops and her teary eyes look down at you. You quickly nod and give her an award in advance: a sudden finger in her empty, greedy pussy.
"I-I'm not, Unnie, he-he is just so good, ah! I'm gon-gonna cu—"
Minju mindlessly screams and squirts as you finger-and-tongue-fuck her over the edge. The fact that she cums so easily now makes you proud and you'd love to drink more from her leaking hole, but you have your fun adventure to not only end a call, but also start a new crazy chapter in your life.
"Who, Minju who in the fucking hell—"
"It's me, Chaewon,” you say in a dismissive, confident tone. “Yes, me. The fucking pig. I bet you know where to find me. But don't get your hopes high."
You give Minju a loud, sloppy kiss as she still moans in deep blissfulness.
"Minju is mine."
#
"Step 3: Wait."
A ring at your doorbell. Minju walks to the speaker and filled with enthusiasm, she presses the button to call Chaewon's elevator up. She leaves the door open and walks back to you.
"Well done, Minmin. Are you not embarrassed? Being naked before Chaewon?"
"No, no," she shakes her head cutely, then blushes, "we saw each other naked often."
"Oh? So you two did more than just kissing, huh~?"
Minju's blush grows. In what can only be the universe's irony, she rather hides her face then her exposed pussy and medium size breasts. She has really gotten used to being naked—or it's because she is still euphoric from your cock being in her right after the call ended?
"Do you want to do it again?"
Your question makes Minju look up at your closer coming figure. You love the shyness and innocence she still has even after all that has happened. It makes you want to cuddle her—or break her again, fuck her mindlessly against the wall, in the shower or in front of her friend.
"Do you want to have sex with Chaewon? Or do you want this?"
You drop your dress pants and although her eyes remain locked with yours, her hand instinctively reaches for your still hard cock. Another clear victory for you, as she strokes you.
"Minmin, where are you?" Chaewon shouts from the front door.
"Tell her where you are, Minmin, " you sadistically whisper into her ear. "Tell her who owns you, tell her where you reside, where you spend your days naked and being a whore. Minmin look at me. Would you ever touch Chaewon without Daddy's permission? Would you ever want to? Or is Daddy all you need, all you ever want?"
Tumblr media
You put your hand at her chin and hold her up to you, oozing a wad of spit from your mouth into hers. Suddenly, Chaewon rushes in and stops in the door frame. With an inner grin, you let even more spit run down on Minju's tongue and down her chin which you firmly hold. Feeling your own saliva has rarely felt this good.
"Min... Minju what is—you fucking bastard, you pig! I'm going to kill you!"
If she would follow up her words, Chaewon would need to leap towards you and tackle you to the ground, yet she still stands there, her knees shaking from anger, her hands in firm fists. You smirk at her, not concerned in the slightest. All that matters rests in your palm and is as well-trained as ever.. It’s the same as with Hyewon: you have all the leverage, not only the feeling of power, but real power. You are not going to hold it back
"What's wrong?” you respond with utmost wit. “Come and kill me then. But I assume you won’t even step into the room, what a disappointment. Minmin, tell Chaewon what we just discussed. Tell her everything."
"Shut the fuck up!” Chaewon screams at the top of her lungs, face boiling bright red in rage. “Minju, get away from him. You don't have to do that. He is just using you to cheat on Yujin!"
"B-but Unnie," Minju gulps down your spit and gives her friend a serious, determined look. "This is my home, this is where I-I walk around naked everyday. This is my Daddy and I'm so happy he owns me and f-fucks me. Thank you, Daddy."
Minju gets on her toes and you pull at her chin to start a short, passionate torrent of kisses, while her pussy presses down on your upright shaft. Chaewon gasps.
"Cheat on Yujin?” you say with slight indignation, as your tongue slips from Minju’s lips. “I would never and have never. In fact, Yujin is the one who pushed Minju here in the first place! I didn't want her here, but she's proven to be a fun toy and a good girl for Daddy. Isn't that right Minju?
She nods eagerly, her eyes shimmering, licking the spit on her face or the juice in her crotch. You firmly squeeze her chin and stare her down to the absolute shock of her friend.
“Now, you didn't listen to me fully. Would you ever touch Chaewon without Daddy's permission? Would you ever desire her without my approval? Who has given you the greatest happiness and pleasure in your life, who do you love the most, Minmin?"
"I love Chaewon, but I want Daddy. Daddy owns me, I only want your cock."
"Good girl," you growl with a smirk. She didn't need to be so cute about it, but you can't help but dig into her collarbone with kisses while lifting her light body up. She wraps her legs around your waist and with ease, your cock penetrates her slick pussy. Without caring for the frozen Chaewon, you carry Minju to the couch.
"Ride Daddy, Minju. Show Chaewon how you bounce on someone you really love."
"Yo-you are a bit mean, Dad—ah!"
You give her a heavy thrust and a spank on her firm ass. The hit on both her inside and outside leaves her mewling and she abides. Much to the dismay of Chaewon, Minju starts to bounce on your cock like a marble bounces down an endless staircase. Her hands are wrapped around your nape and you enjoy the sight of her delirious face and shaking tits.
"Good girl Minmin. Who has given you the best pleasure, baby girl? Is it Chaewon or me?"
"Daddy! Daddy is the best!"
"That's fucking enough!"
Chaewon finally gathered her strength. Her stomps are strong. Like an angry hoard of buffaloes, she storms over to you and wraps her arms around Minju. With one strong pull, she gets her Dongsaeng off of your cock.
"N-no, Unnie, I want."
"Minju, he won't do this to you anymore."
Chaewon reaches for both your tip and your throat. Mercilessly, she squeezes down on both of them while locking eyes. Her dark irises are like a void of hatred, sucking you in. The power of a blackhole, while her hands use the power to suffocate your pleasure.
Yet you don't break a sweat. With a badly faked whimper, you say what she probably wants to hear.
"I'm so scared, oh no, don't kill me Chaewon."
"Chaewon! What the hell are you doing? Get away from him right now!"
You smirk as Chaewon turns around and sees an angry, truly angry Minju. This wasn't anger of jealousy or desire, but of seeing a loved one in danger, a need to protect.
"You are out of your mind, Minju!" Chaewon shouts back at her friend and stares. The blackholes that couldn't do anything to you, seem to be effective. No matter how angry Minju is, she will always be soft at heart. She backs off, still irritated and clearly unsatisfied.
It's a circus you love to see. Anything to make Chaewon crack a little more.
"Wow, calling your best friend these words. You must be the one out of your mind, Chaewon. Maybe the bitchiness has clouded your brain."
"Shut up, shut up, shut up! I hate you, I hate you so fucking much. I will... I will take this from you."
She squeezes your cock even tighter.
"This? You want to rip it off?" you laugh at her face.
"No. I will drain you. Remove all the pleasure from what you think your 'power' is."
Chaewon leans to your face and digs all of her fingernails into your skin. The pain in your facade is the only thing that you don't have to fake anymore. It hurts like hell.
"And then I'll take Minju back."
"Oh ho," you mockingly hum. Chaewon rids herself of her skirt and panties. For the first time, she isn't pressing something down or into your throat. You probably bleed from there, if not it's just the sweat. But to win this, every drop of blood, sweat and tears is worth it.
"I'll fucking fuck you till your breath stops, pathetic son of a bitch."
Chaewon does not give you a chance to respond. The palm of her hand is firmly pressed on your lips as she sinks on your shaft. Her pussy, a freshly shaved innie, is incredibly tight and she struggles to get you in. In frustration, she spits in her hand and lubes you up.
You try to make a scene by flailing with your arms. Maybe she really believes that she can break you this way. But there is certainly a small part in her that just wants to try it. The pleasure you give to her Dongsaengs, the temptation that is your body and cock, they are all too great to not be a factor in her bizarre decision to straddle your lap.
"Shit," Chaewon winces when you finally pierce her open. This time the penetration is a bit easier, but she still struggles. Her plan looks even more embarrassing now. How in the hell does she want to hurt you if she is already hurting at this stage.
"U-Unnie, stop doing that," Minju urges her from the side, stern concern in her voice.
Chaewon shakes her head and wipes a tear off her face. She's got you almost entirely inside her and starts to wiggle her hips a little. You can't lie, this isn't a lot of fun for you either. She is too dry inside and compared to the enthusiastic, submissive Minju, she is absolutely no fun. If you were doomed to always have sex like this for the rest of your life, she would have succeeded in breaking your spirit.
Luckily, this is not the case.
"W-well? Already hating it?" Chaewon asks, her voice trying to sound triumphant while her face contorts in pain. She removes her hand from your lips and you frown at her, unimpressed, unfazed.
"Minju, come over here."
Your command is followed instantly. Minju kneels next to you, her beautiful body upright on the couch. Her gorgeous breasts are on your eye-level and you have to force yourself to look past them. Her face is painted with uncertainty and neediness.
"Yes, Daddy? Ah!"
Instead of answering her, you stick two fingers into her entrance below. Minju begins to mewl like a cute kitten and the envy on Chaewon's face is priceless. Surely she can attack you in this position, but as she is unable to adjust to the large phallus inside her, she won't do anything.
"Your Unnie doesn't feel as great as you. Do you think there is any way we can help her, how you can help her?"
"Daddy, I know e-every spot that Chaewon-unnie likes."
"No, Minju, no," Chaewon whines, but before she can get a hand on her friend, you grab both her wrists and hold them tightly.
"That's great, but first, give me Chaewon's panties. We have to tie her up, she has been very naughty."
This is the moment Chaewon should realize that her plan was futile and stupid to begin with and that her curiosity and libido got the better of her. With her smelly panties, she receives the treatment of a caught criminal, all while her friend is playing along. The only way out would be to leave, but this would mean to leave Minju behind.
Chaewon's heart cannot allow this. It cannot forget how strong she feels whenever the taller girl smiles or waves at her, when they cuddled in bed during the covid scares, when they cried together after the final concert. All the times they got intimate together—she can't leave her behind.
"Good girl," you groan to Minju and caress her cheek. In Chaewon's mind, you're saying it to her and she hates it. She hates every last bit of you. The way you nuzzle up into Minju to whisper to her. The way you control her and force her to call you Daddy. The way you make her—
"Ah, Minju, no-not there!"
Minju places soft, slow kisses below Chaewon's navel and works her way in a zig-zag pattern from thigh to thigh. Only a few things make the fierce leader weaker than this and only Minju knows of them.
"You're doing so good, Minju."
Your praise is met with a hum when you massage her butt and then move back to gently play with her clit. Minju moves further up. She licks Chaewon's underboob, not caring about the salty sweat which resides there. Goosebumps travel all over Chaewon's skin and when Minju finally leeches onto one of her nipples, you feel it without a doubt.
"Oh, it's working,” you say excitedly as a surge of juice lubes up your shaft inside Chaewon, and you decide to tease her with it. “Chaewon, are you getting wetter?"
"N-no, pig. Fuck, I h-hate y-you."
"That's why you're here, hm? Then do it! Free 'your' Minju."
The small woman gets into position again. Your cock almost slipped all the way out of her, it's a lot easier for her to let you glide inside. However, her untrained walls still struggle with the last inch. No matter how much she forces herself, it’s not enough, agonizing for both of you. The entirety of her riding is sloppy, absolutely unenjoyable.
All her adjustments and attempts to take you faster or more of your dick end the same way: with a groan of disappointment. You let her try it over and over again, but her attempt at hate sex is nowhere near overstimulation or pain. There is a lot more boredom, although her walls have potential.
"Fuck, Chaewon, that's not gonna work."
You roll your eyes and Chaewon actually stops. Tears are in the corner of her eyes and when you look over to Minju, she seems pretty upset as well. Her only comfort is your hand rubbing her softly on her sensitive spots.
"You're pretty shit at this, wow,” you dryly whisper your factual insult. “I thought you wanted Minju back, make me resign and give up, but this is just downright bad."
"Wh-what? What the fuck are you saying?"
Chaewon is in disbelief. Her tied up hands smack your chest. You swat them away and get a hand in her short black hair.
"I'm being totally serious here. You fuck like someone who has no experience. This way, you won't get anything out of me."
You look over to Minju and when she reacts, you press a kiss on her tender lips. You coo a 'good girl' at her and she giggles cutely. Chaewon realizes the meaning of your words and immediately climbs off of your cock.
"Fuck you. I don't need that. You're a disgusting piece of shit, I don't want your fucking compliments."
"No, I bet you much rather walk to the next guy, have sex with him and let him either lie or tell you the gut punching truth. Chaewon, only here can you train without it becoming a rumor. Only here can you see Minju. These are just the facts, but do whatever you want."
"Ugh, fucking hell,” Chaewon curses with shame and disgust written all over her pretty face. She struggles for a second, then tears the tied up panties around her wrists open. To her dismay, they are completely useless now.
"Okay, Mr. Sex-Expert-Pig. What the fuck do you think is wrong? I bet I could make any guy cum in under a minute."
You scoff and stare her down.
"Oh, and then why weren't you able to make a horny 'pig' like me to cum? Do better Chaewon. Your technique, your enthusiasm, your movement are all weak. I—"
"Fucking fine then!” Chaewon screams and sends her skirt flying into a nearby wall. “I'll fuck you. I'll fuck my anger onto you every fucking day if it means getting bett—getting Minju back. And then you'll see!"
"Oh, you can try, but all compliments are reserved for good girls."
You hug Minju's waist. The cute girl is completely confused by what is happening, but she sure enjoys your affection and repeated kisses. When you press your palm to the back of her head, she wanders down your body and begins to lick your cock blissfully.
"Urg, I'm not calling you Daddy. In fact, I won't do anything for you. I'll fuck the compliments out of you and then Minju will see how pathetic you are, pig."
"I bet you will die trying, bitch."

enhypen as dads
Tumblr media
here are some headcannons on how i think enha will be as dads :)
warnings; babies, talk of pregnancy, theres a mention of sex in hoons but nothing graphic.. thats all i think but plz lemme know if you see anything that should be added<3
likes, comments and reblogs are much appreciated<3
heeseung <3
-okok right from the beginning, when he had first found out u were preggers he started singing to ur belly
-and at night he cant sleep and he thinks ur asleep he'll talk to ur belly
-like if ure having really bad morning sickness he'll be like
-"hey baby,, i know ur growing in there but please dont give ur momma too much of hard time... we love you forever and always and we can't wait for you to get here"
-and suddenly the next day you got no morning sickness!! so hee kisses ur belly "thank u baby u always listen to dada huh?"
-okay now for gender. reveal!! he doesnt care if the baby is a boy or a girl
-he just wants to be able to hold his baby in his arms, and he got sososo excited when the doctor told yall so the doctor asks "oh were you hoping for a girl?"(first one is girl i feel like theyll all be really good girl dads)
-and u giggle "he wasnt hoping for anything specific. hes just happy that were this far along cuz that mean babes coming out soon"
-and we'll skip to birth. hee has done so much reading on parenting books, and all that jazz
-but when babygirl finally comes hes in tears and forgot everything he read. hes just too happy. he sees you holding his baby and he thinks, despite the sweat and tears. this is the most beautiful you look because you have been so strong and brave through out the whole process
-u call him over and ask if hes ready to hold her and something snaps in him "oh um... can i??"
- he just got so worried?? for some reason?? so the nurse smiles and tells him to go sit on the chair so she can pass her to him and while sitting he remembers skin to skin right right
-so he takes off his shirt and when baby is in the nurses arms she starts crying soso hard,
- but once baby was place into hees arms and lying on his bare chest she immediately stops "oh babygirl... hi its dada"
-and ik babies dont really smile unless they're pooping or smthng but the baby smiles at him with her eyes closed
-skip to her first everything,, hee has it all filmed, her first steps, her first taste of solid food, any of her first, you name it
-he'll be one of those dads who are sososo encouraging of every single thing she does
-(even if shes bad at it... "who cares what they say. if you like doing it then continue doing it. only quit if its for yourself not for them")
-shes a lovely singer, she'll somehow remember the songs hee would sing to her while she was in mommas belly and when she was a baby
-he'll cry when shes 10 years old because "my baby... shes not a baby anymore shes in her double digits:((" and she'll hug him even if she feels embarrassed and whispers to him "dont worry dad. i wont be a baby forever. but i'll always be your girl"
-thats what he calls her "my girl" he originally called u that
-and he still does,, whenever he gets home he goes "where are my girls?" or if his babygirl wins something he goes "thats my girl!"
-hes just a really good supportive dad:(( she'll even go to both her parents if shes having relationship problems because she can trust them and they are very trusting of her
jay <3
-ok so jay i think u’d just tell him straight up that ur pregnant
-u guys have been trying for a while and it finally happened so he was very very happy
-i think jay will also talk to ur belly
-he’ll tell baby a lot of random fun facts
-even tell baby about how big/small they are at the moment
-when baby comes hes just ready for it all.
-hes very encouraging of you, tells you that you did amazing before even taking a look at the crying baby
-finally when its his turn to hold his babyboy hes ready.
-the nurse takes the baby from ur arms and tells jay he can either stand or sit on the couch, he prefers to stand
-so he takes off his shirt and holds his arms out for baby
-jay cries while looking at his baby
- so baby is a bit older now, like hee. jay films all the firsts… and seconds
-baby is really smart too
-jay actually got his son an ipad
-but the kid is NOT an ipad kid, he’s actually very very good at time management???
-all the games on the kids ipad are actually some kind of learning games (reading apps, those crossword games, etc.)
-jay loves cooking and so does his son.
-it started from watching his dad cook
-to mixing the soup on the stove
-and finally to just jay watching and tell him what to do/add next
-actually on mothers day and ur birthday they’ll make u breakfast in bed
-their bond is very good<3
jake <3
-so lets say u nd jake already have some fur babies
-yall got two doggo okok so u dress them up wearing those ‘best big sister’ nd ‘best big brother’ sweaters
- “go to daddy” so they do:)
-with u following them slowly so you can see his reaction and he baby talks the dogs lol
-”now what are u silly babies wearing?”
-he takes them both on his lap and his eyes widened when he was able to read it,,
-the pups jump off his lap cuz jake sounded excited so they want to be excited too!!
-”no way…” he goes to run to you nd tbh he almost ran into you so he hugged u
-”is this for real? plz dont be a sick joke”
-”of course its real!”
-he kisses you
-a lot
-he kisses all over ur face nd all over ur belly
-so for this ultrasound its pretty late into the pregnancy and suddenly there are two heartbeat
-”oUR BABY HAS TWO HEARTS?!?”
- both u and the doctor laugh and tell him that has to mean twins
-so u guys go home and suddenly panic arises again
-”....i need to redesign the babyroom”
-u guys have a boy and a girl <3
- so both are very into music and sports
- he teaches them everything he knows and he loves loves LOVES bragging about his kids
- he doesn't do it on purpose but..
- heeseung is telling the group about how his daughter won at her school talent show and jake cant help but mention his kids
-”ohhh *son and daughter* love singing too! actually they’ve been practicing as a duo wanna see a video?!” (he’ll pull out the video before anyone can even say yes)
-hes very good at helping them regulate their emotions too, he lets them feel what it is and lets them talk about them openly
-he never raises his voice at them and if by chance his kids get so angry that they raise their voice at him??
-they’ll immediately apologize because they know its wrong and they’ll say that they promise to do their best not to do it again
-kids are hard especially if theres two the same age
-they argue a lot
- A LOT
- they always make up very quickly, jake and u don’t even have to interfere.
- BUT when u do have to interfere that means it gets really bad
- idk theyre kids so lets say they broke eachothers crayon :(
-both are crazy mad at each other, daughter is a daddys girl, son is a mommys boy
-first move as parents; get them to stop crying
-second to figure out why it all started
- “we wanted to share but we got mad”
- (y'all bought them each a set of crayons…)
- in the end, they make up and showed u their shared drawing of their family… with an extra member
“mommy and daddy we want a baby sibling”
sunghoon <3
-ok hoon wants a baby soooo bad
- he’ll always send u tiktoks of babies and their familes that show up on his fyp and goes like “could be us soon”
-what he doesn't know is that u are pregnant
-idk why u thought he wouldnt want a baby but thats what u thought
-anyway u talk to jay nd ur like “how tf do i tell him?? what if he doesnt want a baby?”
-*que sunghoon sending u another baby related tiktok*
-jay goes “... he spams u with baby and family tiktoks u really think he doesnt want that??”
-”maybe??” anyway so now u go home, thinking instead of how to tell him, not of a bad reaction from him
-finally u thought of it
-make a tiktok revealing it(not posting it publicly just yet. u just saved it to ur phone)
-tiktok is pictures with music first, pictures from ur first date, …post sex selfie(its a cute one ok like ur both smiley) of the date you most likely conceived baby
-then it comes to videos, theres one where u guys were making dinner and started dancing together,
-one where u guys are just smiling at the camera together then he attacks u w kisses
-finally the reveal of the pregnancy test and u at the end saying “im pregnant”
-so you send him that video while ur in the kitchen and hes on the couch living room
the text read “babe look at this cute baby video!!” and he clicks it so fast
-he watched it one… two… three more times and hes crying by the end of it
-”i love you so much!!”
-baby is now born and hes just the happiest hes ever been
-he has a baby boy:((
-i think he’ll record everything and anything his kid does and saves it all until his son is of age to consent to his parents to post his baby photos/videos
-his son loves it lol, he actually encouraged his dad to make an instagram for him so when hes old enough to post on his own he’ll post on that account
-but sunghoons account is basically u, his son, family photos and like a selfie every now and then
-he’ll encourage his son to do everything he wants.
-ur son wants to sing?? sunghoon will bring him to the studio and let him record a bit
-he wants to play soccer?? he’ll go to every single practice day and night
-he wants to ice skate?? hoon will be the best coach
-hoon will never ever force him though. if his kid wants out he’ll try to encourage them to keep trying but if they really dont want it, its over then
-hoon rememinds them if they ever wanna try again that they always can
-by the time his son is a teenager, hoon likes to think of himself as a dad and a friend
-so when his son comes to him with a problem hoon will ask “do you want dad advice first or friend advice first?”
-he’ll always give advice from both perspectives too so his son makes the final decisions on things based on that
-anytime u are out for business, they’ll have movie nights nd fall asleep on the couch together, ur sons head on hoons shoulder and hoons head resting ontop ur sons head<3
sunoo <3
-ok honestly see sunoo as such a good girl dad:((
-he found out u were pregnant before u even did lol
-he made u ur favorite food but u didnt want to eat it so he was like “???”
-he gets excited then says “i’ll be right back!”
-he left to get u take out and to buy some pregnancy tests. he lets u eat first then shows u the tests
-”if u arent we could always try again,, but i’m pretty sure u are” so u took a few
-all were positive
-sunoo smiles the biggest u’ve ever seen him smile
-he picks u up nd twirls u around
-so now ur going to ur 5 months ultrasound, u want to have a gender reveal party but sunoo just wants to know(he does want to have a party tho)
-he jokes with the doctor “if i slip u a signed photo card will u tell me the gender” that earned him a smack from u lol
-u give the envelope with the gender to two j’s cuz they volunteered the fastest
-as much as u guys like the whole blue for boy and pink for girls,, u didnt want that to be the colours so u did purple for girls and orange for boys
-jake and jay made cupcakes but somehow made them all brown…
-they forgot the food colouring lol
-anyway they whispered it to sunoo and sunoo begins to jump around “A BABY GIRRLLL”
-so now the birthing… sun couldnt control his face, this was a beautiful moment but gosh did it look…
-not so beautiful, but his babygirl is here!!
-after a little bit u tell him to lie next to u, he said there was no room so u made room
-”now there is room. lets look at our babygirl together” <3
-now her first birthday,,, sunoo couldnt help himself, he calls her princess so it was princess themed!
-she looked so cute in pigtails, her tiara and of course her little purple princess dress:((
-he also records everything at the party, hes vlogging it all
-so she grows up a bit nd he shows her the video as he does her hair
-”did mom do my hair or did u?” “ i did isnt it obvious?”
-“...dang dad thank goodness u got better at this” “excuse me young lady?” they laugh
-anyway now ur girl is hmm 16
-sunoo still calls her princess and she loves it. she gets princess treatment
-sometimes they even kick u out of the front seat so she sit beside her dad as she drives🤭🤭
jungwon <3
-wonie loves loves kids
-when he goes to film some content with kids he LOVES to send u little videos and pictures of him and the kids hes filming with
-when he gets home, u nd the 6 boys are there. u planned it all together
-so u ask him to check the oven cuz ur baking(u didn't actually bake it, u bought it lol)
-”babe its not even hot… are u sure u baked?”
-"oh wonnnie what did you just do?”
“...take bread out of the oven?”
-”jungwon its buns.. theres buns in the oven”
-”..what does that even mean”
-”...shES PREGENT WON.. BUN IN THE OVEN!!”
- he dropped the bread lol
-finally when it registered in his mind he ran to u nd hugged u “but why did u tell them first??”
-okay baby is born and hes in tears
-”are you okay?...our baby is crying and the doctors and nurses got him rn.” he says wiping ur hair out of ur face
-”i’m okay.. and i’m so happy but in so much pain ahaha”
-he smiled and kissed ur forehead, then ur nose nd finally ur lips.
-the nurse brings the now clean baby to u and gently places baby in ur arms
-”she looks so beautiful..” “she’s gnna grow up to be just like you y/n”
-jungwon was wrong. babygirl looks exactly like him but with longer hair hehe
-she even has his deep deep dimples, shes so cute when she smiles:((
-both of u cant even be mad that she looks like him(he realllyyy wanted a mini u when he gets a daughter)
-anyway now shes like 3? she loves calling her dadda for everythinggg
-she wants to play princess? dadda on his way
-she wants a piggyback ride for the 960427195 time? dadda is on his way
-she still counts on him always now that shes older, just now she calls him dad.
-dad always drops anything and everything for her.
-dads filming some content but his personal ringtone for his babygirl goes off. hes outta there
-she loves to dance too!!
-actually she watches jungwons dance from i-land(she hasnt watched the show yet but she seen a lot of the happier clips/edits)
-she tries to copy it a lot cuz she wants to be just like him dancing wise
-anyway shes a total daddys girl
(uncle) ni-ki <3
-alright we know ni-ki is… well you know how ni-ki is
-but he is the best babysitter ever!!
-he’ll come over without even getting asked to lol
-”hi guys i’m here to babysit!”
-”...but ni-ki we weren't even going out today..”
-”yeah well i got bored so get out of here so i can hang out with my minis”
-so they leave ni-ki with the children
- ni-ki is actually a really good babysitter, he knows how to have fun but also knows when things get too far
- “alright kiddos show me where your parents hide the candy. we get 2 pieces each after a healthy dinner”
-he knows his hyungs hide the candy high up cuz the kids cant reach it
-when things get out of hand, he will never ever raise his voice.
-he’ll give a big sigh and the kids just know to stop what theyre doing and to listen to him
-he wont ever use 'negative’ words i.e instead of “no fighting” he’ll say smthng like “lets all get along”
-then he sets up some music for them to dance to
-if they ask him, he’ll dance with them too
-they’ll even ask him to teach them and he happily will teach them
-hehe the kids will request to learn billy poco heheh
-ni-ki hates it but teaches it nonetheless
-once theyre all tired out (including ni-ki) they all sit on the couch and put on a movie
-they all fall asleep on ni-ki :)
-all the parents have pictures of ni-ki nd their kids sleeping
-actually all the kids come together and make like a slideshow of all the fun they’ve had with their favorite unlce for his birthday:)

What about character design in Tristamp?
Tumblr media
A person had a question for me, what is it about character designs in tristamp? It's like Vash from Tristamp and Vash from Trimax/98 adaptation are COMPLETELY different characters, and my answer to that is: they are REALLY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS, and I'll explain why right now.
Tumblr media
To begin with, I would like to note that I have a great deal of trust in the Orange studio and its co-founder, Eiji Inomoto. Orange is one of the best CG studios in Japan, known for such acclaimed adaptations as "Beastars" and "Land of the Lustrous". These are not just some studio, but a really big guys, and by big I mean that Inomoto's experiments with the frame rate in the film adaptation of Lustrous at one time were a revolutionary thing in animation, which was picked up by the animators of the spiderverse and then that's all led to the beloved dynamic animation of the "Puss in Boots" sequel. I mean, these are THAT big guys. I'm not talking about the fact that Inomoto boosts the development of 3D in the anime industry as much as possible and literally shits from a high bell tower on the fact that everything is spitting with 3D animation purely out of principle.
Okay, the studio is cool, it is unlikely that they will make a bad product, we figured it out, but what about the designs? They don't even look like themselves! Vash does not look like a mop at all, he has lost his leather pants and berets, and looks like some kind of sucker in sweatpants and a windbreaker, and Meryl gives the impression of a schoolgirl who has strayed from the school excursion, instead of the stately lady in caprons, as we used to seeing her. Only Wolfwood hasn't changed much, except that he doesn't know how to tuck his shirt into his pants and has undergone whitewashing (which, by the way, I'm not ironically upset about). So, is that mean designs is bad as hell? Nope. Just because things look different doesn't mean it's inherently worse. Again, remember that tristamp is a REMAKE, and their task is not to stupidly repeat the same thing, but to breathe new life into the franchise, looking at it from a different angle. And I think they did a FUCKING GOOD job on it.
In interviews and at conventions, director Kenji Muto and producer Katsuhiro Takei have repeatedly said that they are big fans of the original manga and the film adaptation of 98, but it was important for them to touch and reveal those aspects of the story that their predecessors did not reach their hands on.
That is why, despite the fact that the Tristamp is very close to the original source (manga), the studio plays out many details differently or even saves them for later, so that the audience can fully experience the development of the characters. Therefore, in Tristamp, everyone looks much younger than their previous versions and / or very different from them.
Tumblr media
The easiest way to prove this, however strange and unexpected it may seem, is by the example of Meryl. In the manga and anime 98, we immediately see her as a stately lady with a bunch of derringers under her cloak, but they don’t tell us how she came to this and what led to this. Yes, there is literally a page in the manga about some colleague who told her about self-defense and sort of taught her how to shoot, but finally he is drawn on one frame and, in general, we don’t give a shit about him.
Tumblr media
While in Tristamp, this colleague has a name and is one of the most main characters - this is Roberto. Throughout the series, he acts as Meryl's senior mentor, protecting her whenever possible and pulling her out of trouble by the scruff of the neck like a kitten. That is why she looks so youthful and charmingly stupid compared to her previous version. Throughout the series, she literally hits herself with her heel in the chest, saying I AM!!! MERYL!!! STRIFE!!! I AM NOT NEWBIE!!! while Roberto calls her the same way, ignoring all her protests in this regard, and I think this was done for a reason. Specifically, in Tristamp we see her almost in the past, when she has not yet learned to protect herself and be fully responsible for her decisions, although she is very eager to do so. Although Roberto is a character, for the most part he is still a crutch and trigger for the development of Meryl. Through his death and the transfer of HIS gun to her, we see right before our eyes how she changes and from a shy "newbie" turns into the confident Meryl Strife. And after the timeskip, they generally show us the scene of exactly how she becomes the senior and takes Millie under her wing. And by the way, her image visually changes too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I repeat once again, there was no such development of the character of Meryl in the manga, in the 1998 film adaptation nether.
Orange build her development completely differently and in their own way, despite the fact that she, in fact, is the same Meryl Strife no less than other versions of her. She just a little different character, which goes to the image already familiar to us, passing through kind of other events
Tumblr media
The same thing happens with Vash! At first, he doesn't look like himself at all, but towards the end, we see how he takes on a more recognizable image. I think that in fact by the second season they will all mature and look much more "canonical", this can be seen from the concept art but in general
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tristump characters go a different way and get a different development, as happened with Meryl above, therefore, I I think we should perceive them rather as completely different characters that have common roots
And by the way, the studio Orange discussed everything very closely with Yasuhiro Nightou (author of the manga) and he gave her green light and creative freedom, because he saw how reverent people are about their job and want to develop the story. He even drew his and studio designs together!!!
Tumblr media
All in all, the tristamp designs are really quite different from the original, but I don't think that's a bad thing, as the studio does it purposefully and cleverly to give them the development that the manga or the '98 film adaptation lacked.
Again, this is my personal opinion, and it’s worth notice here that I’m far from being an old fan and I flew into the fandom just a month and a half ago, so the character design initially did not cause me rejection, like many old fans.
But in this tirade, I tried to be as objective as possible and describe what was what, thanks to come in my ted talk

So, I'm Watching Dollar Tree The Gilded Age: The Buccaneers (I apologize that this is a long one folks because of ADHD Romantic Period Drama w/ ~Color~ tangents)...
Tumblr media
Okay... So, I have to preface this by admitting that Bridgerton never has been my great big thing. It's a cake sculpted from cotton candy.
Pretty and sweet, but not much substance. And very much leaning on the "fantasy" so everyone can enjoy the costume romance fun (but it does please me to see my marginalized players, playing well...). -Using an author's works as a base, who not only started with an all-white palette but was flippant and insulting in response to the idea of inclusion... And yet...
I'm just saying, it is something that the woman who walked away from ABC because an exec didn't respect her enough to get a Disney pass for her family, went on to make that lucrative author's uplift deal with, instead of say, Beverly Jenkins. I love underdog romances that aren't the typical het white bread. Give me the canon gays (I never got slash...but I love when it's canon, especially with color), the big girls, the dark brown skin girls, the Black couples, and the interracials, especially when both are BIPOC and there's no lag in charm/looks in the lighter half in some expertly lit, dressed, confection that makes everyone look as gorgeous as they actually are and there's all kinds of soft plotting and chemistry. Bridgerton for all its lazy ways of handling color, gave that. Everybody is hot. And the people that studios have typically just pretended either weren't "invented" yet or were all living horrible tortured lives of enslavement got to get the sweet costumed wooing, will-they-won't-they, ~romance~ treatment. But... being an obscure Black history nerd... I'm neurodivergent, so I have some deep-dive GEMS that I'll mention here that I NEED TO SEE DONE WELL, before I die. FYI I called Dido Elizabeth Belle a good 8 years before that was actually made. It is frustrating to see some of the ACTUAL interesting capacities in which some actual existing Black folks in history who did live interesting, not tragic lives, not given the big glossy budget, well-written renderings they deserve... In lieu of what has now, firmly taken hold as a trend, colorblind casting in known white works. See recent adaptations of David Copperfield, Persuasion, Tom Jones, & Great Expectations,
Tumblr media
and now, this The Buccaneers (which like I said, is Dollar Tree, and *worse* the colorblind cast sister Conchita is using her regular-eggular Cali accent and...is not a compelling actress & her man is a jar of mayo) and baby...them costumes are Reign-levels of anachronistic/bad. It's the lazy jump onto the trend Shonda exploded, and Mr. Malcolm's List started (yeah, that short film was put on YouTube a full year before Bridgerton debuted). So, my point... Instead of *just* doing colorblind casting in old classic white period works... I need to see these ACTUAL GREAT stories of and/or written by or about the colorful people who lived in those societies. And this is where it could get long... but I'll do my best to keep it short... EXAMPLES that were gotten right and those *I need to see adapted*: ____
Interview With The Vampire is inclusive color-AWARE casting... The showrunner went beyond and actually rewrote the narrative to make sure the inclusion wasn't lazily done, but actually improved the depth of the source IMO. And I believe the showrunner is a queer white man. It just takes empathy and effort.
Passing... is a moody slow-burn horror based upon an actual work written by a Black woman in that period, and adapted by a white-passing WOC who not only lived the theme, but rendered it expertly.
Tumblr media
Belle is often pointed to as a good example, but my nerd-ass knows Gugu's beyond AMAZING handling of the material elevated it.
Tumblr media
Too much was changed from the reality of her life (IMO), still...Most period dramas are about as "true" and yall know I was not a fan of Sam Reid's over-dramatic ass in this... (yelling in that damn carriage for what?!) but he is PERFECT in IWTV. Sanditon being made, despite the typical side-character Black character issues...really was a reset because Miss Austen had already envisioned, in her day and above her class(!) a Black heiress as a character getting the Austen treatment, w/o any modifications the salty and ignorant would prefer to think is beyond "true history". ----- I have a little hopeful part in my brain that wishes it had the power to will capable adaptions of the lives of Carlotta Stewart Lai - middle-class educated Black woman who became a teacher & lived an "Anne of Green Gables" type of Edwardian life (more interesting really) surfing, having "bathing parties," and teaching Hawaiians with her Black family, Portuguese, Hawaiian and Chinese friends on the big island... Her life was w/o the stereotypes people assume all Black Americans lived in Victorian/Edwardian "America".
Tumblr media
Gustav Badin, a Black man who was "Chessmaster" of the Swedish Royal Court in the 1700's...was in charge of the Royal family's secrets after the Queen's passing, really gives me intelligent queer Black man energy in his portrait and lived out a non-tragic life in a VERY white space many don't know we occupied.
Tumblr media
And The Hunters... Who already have a short film and I've posted about it here... but I would LOVE to see an actual rendering of their lives in the Klondike, with their gold and silver prospects and son grandson Buster and daughter Teslin in Edwardian Canada.
(that is Teslin at the highest point in the photo, named after the lake she was born at)
Tumblr media
(and the Hunters' grandson Buster ice-fishing)
Tumblr media
All this to say... Now, that I've thoroughly veered away from my review of a middling show... I WISH THESE DAMN SHOWRUNNERS used a little effort in research and imagination and gave us more "true to life" renderings of Black life (and life of color, in these romanticized spaces) that isn't tragic nor the patronizin inclusive "fantasy"... That feels like it's smirking at me while saying "we know you weren't ~really~ here, but here! have a cookie!!" These people existed.
You don't have to *just* make inclusive versions of white works with the lie that you have to do that because thee above people ~didn't exist~. Nor do you have to be lazy when you do!! (see: IWTV) Right now, for me... It feels like for the most part we're in a period of very shallow "advancement" in period rep. And I'm saying if little old me can find the actual stories that could make AMAZING true history-based media. Why can't the more powerful people do the same?? P.S.
You already know I'm fresh off being mad about that shitty Bass Reeves show...but I'm even madder because I can't even say, "just make sure its made by Black people," because Jeymes Samuel (AKA Bullitts) gave us skinny biracial StageCoach Mary!!!
---NO!! I will never stop being mad about it!!
DO BETTER!! Have the empathy and care for the material, regardless, and don't rest on "I know what I'm doing because I'm Black" That male gaze won out over truth in The Harder They Fall *smh*
Tumblr media
P.P.S I get the feeling the lazy adaptions are about cash-grabbing, what they see as a trend, and being all the ready to jump back into the whitewashed business as usual, that ain't true to *all* actual histories nor (as Austen proved) fictions of those eras or spaces.
P.P.P.S. On The Glided Age!! I do love that the Fellowes drama has Erica Armstrong Dunbar (known for her book and research on Ona Judge -another figure whose story needs to be adapted!!!- the Black woman who successfully escaped enslavement from George Washington's household and was doggedly pursued by him throughout her life) and Salli Richardson-Whitfield as producers... so, Denee Benton's Peggy is authentic... but as much as I like The Gilded Age, I want to combine Fellowes comfort drama... with a CENTRALIZED Black character... Why can't someone do all of it correctly?? WHY??!!!

i hope this isn't a weird ask, but i'm looking for some hope. i consider myself really fucking stupid. i don't think i have good "critical thinking" skills, or even good reading comprehension. do you think it's possible to get better at those things?
as i mentioned earlier, my answer is yes. as i also mentioned, i genuinely think that the fact that you are less than confident about your skills in these areas is itself valuable and not as common as it probably should be. i have worked with a fair number of kids, both in the elementary school classroom and in the upper grades for test prep stuff, whose reading comprehension isn't great, but who genuinely do not seem to notice there is anything off about their reading until they have to answer questions about it. they're in the habit of just glossing by a lot of stuff and not noticing. i have met kids who would swear to you they love to read who cannot accurately recount what actually happens in the scene they just read, but who seem pretty confident that what they're doing is reading. so if you're going around reading stuff and thinking, "hey, that's confusing" - congratulations! you are great at self-assessing your own comprehension. this is REALLY HARD for a lot of people to do.
i also think it's actually important to NOT think of either reading comprehension or critical thinking as a binary on/off switch, where you're either good at it or bad at it. both of these things are spectrums. in addition, both of these things are context dependent. there are a lot of things i have pretty good reading comprehension for. there are also types of text where my reading comprehension is straight-up bad: scientific papers published for other scientists to read; philosophy or literary theory of any kind; poetry. i tried to reread laura mulvey's original "male gaze" essay because i suspected people were using the concept wrong both in its favor, and i couldn't meaningfully follow its argument (although i think i am probably right because i don't really believe that many randos are so much better at interpreting freudian film theory than i am, lmao). these are all examples of texts where i don't have a lot of background knowledge in the subject area or a lot of experience reading this kind of thing. they are also mostly things i don't care enough about to put in the time and effort to get better at. (sometimes i think about trying to do this with poetry, but i have not prioritized this yet, to say the least.)
critical thinking also depends majorly on familiarity with a topic or at least with a field. i'll give you an example. on the podcast maintenance phase, the hosts attempt to apply critical thinking to common perceptions of scientific research. some of their points are good, and many of them sound convincing to me, a person who doesn't know a lot about science. but i soured on the podcast over time largely because on the subreddit for the show, an attempt at a scientific deep dive often brought at least one person who was like, "i have some expertise in this field and they are wrong." sometimes this is about interpreting a specific study (or, uh basic factual shit like the definition of a word), but a lot of times it's about big picture stuff that is hard to think about if you don't have experience in the field. one recent example that interested me was regarding a study done on ozempic. the hosts mentioned that in the trial, (iirc) two people died. sounds scary and not great! someone on reddit pointed out, though, that this was a very large study that recorded deaths for any reason - it's probably not statistically anomalous that two out of however many people died, and there's no evidence to indicate that ozempic had anything to do with it. i appreciated this science-minded redditor because i definitely listened to the episode and was like, wow! scary! but when i read that explanation i was like, oh, okay, yeah.
i am not any kind of expert, and i guess you didn't technically ask for advice, but here are some things that may or may not be helpful.
with regard to reading comprehension:
struggle is a normal part of reading, especially of reading complicated texts. if you are struggling with a text, it does NOT mean you "have bad reading comprehension" or are fucking up. it indicates you have good self-awareness about your own level of comprehension.
i don't have research on this one. this is speculation. but my hunch is that for people who have a certain baseline level of reading comprehension, reading things that are challenging to understand over time increases the amount of stuff you can read easily. i was definitely better at reading books by historians at the end of my history degree than i was at the start. and honestly, i was also better at it after i spent like a year obsessively reading books about new york city history than i was when i graduated!
related to that, it's okay to understand something mostly but not all the way!
it's also okay to determine your own goals for understanding, and spend your time appropriately! i have a terrible visual imagination so to really fully "comprehend" any passage in any novel that describes the layout of a room, i would have to get a notebook out and draw it. i'm not gonna do that. (weirdly, though, i often love reading that shit anyway, haha.)
there is a lot of research out there emphasizing the importance of background knowledge to comprehension. (natalie wexler has written a book about this i haven't read, along with some articles i have read.) the scary way to look at this link is, "oh no, how can i learn all the things i need to know?" the awesome and exciting way to look at it is, every time you learn something, it widens the circle of things you can read, which means it widens the circle of things you can learn about, which means you can keep leaning.
you can also google stuff. one time i was confused by a book's explanation of a government policy so i googled and found some articles that covered it in more detail. (and also discovered that the specific example the book had used had been phased out of the law by the time it was published, lol.)
there are some strategies that have been found to increase reading performance, but the research around these is mostly around them as teaching strategies. my favorite reading guy timothy shanahan has speculated that the thing the strategies all have in common is they're ways of getting kids to actually pay attention when they read. the main strategy i think has value for people who want to get better at reading on their own is summarizing. every so often, take a moment to put into your own words what you've just read. how often will depend on what you are reading and how challenging it is. every paragraph is a often a good benchmark for something dense, especially as you are getting used to reading like this. every page or every chapter might be more appropriate for something like a novel. there have been times when i've done this sentence by sentence because something was really fucking dense! (a general note: this can also help people who feel their reading comprehension is mostly fine but have a lot of trouble remembering what they read. when i started doing this kind of thing consciously it improved my recall a lot, and i had a decent memory for textual information to begin with.) (if you REALLY want a power-up, taking notes is great, but most people understandably don't want to do this for their recreational reading.) over time there is also a good chance that you'll start doing this more fluidly and automatically as you read and not have to choose to do it consciously as much. but if not that's ok!
a strategy that is not always a natural fit for reading on your own but can be useful for certain kinds of reading is setting yourself questions to answer and then seeing if you can answer them. obviously, this typically makes more sense as a teaching strategy because how can you know what a text will contain until you read it? but there are times you can make a pretty educated guess, or stick to a really basic thing like "what is [thing this is promising to explain]?" i once picked up a particular NYC history book because it had been cited somewhere else as containing an account of the consolidation for the five boroughs. it was a really dense book and i decided that while i probably wouldn't retain many of the details its covered, i really wanted to learn from this book the author's answer to why the boroughs became one. four years later i still remember most of the reasons he gave! (harbor maintenance; economic competition with other large cities; a belief in some quarters that brooklyn would be a good influence on the manhattan political machine; i think there was one or two more but i'm 95% sure those were the ones cited as being most important.)
look up words! honestly tutoring has made ME realize how many words out there i "sort of" know but can't provide great definitions for, lol. a site i always recommend for my students doing vocab is learnersdictionary.com, which is by the encyclopedia britannica people and aimed for kids. it's a pretty full dictionary, but the definitions, while still accurate, are a lot more "user-friendly" than most dictionary definitions, which can be technical in a way that makes them less than illuminating.
for critical thinking:
honestly at LEAST half your battle is won. the main error i see people make in the realm of critical thinking is believing they are qualified to assess information they are not in fact qualified to do. the name of the game is humility.
i think my own critical thinking skills have really benefited from times when i've been able to read multiple perspectives on a fairly narrow topic. when i was in my NYC history era (i really gotta get back on that train), one thing i did was that every time i finished a book, i popped over to JSTOR to see if any scholars had reviewed it. i specifically wanted scholarly reviews because those are the people who can point out things i would NEVER have thought of because i did not have their years of expertise. for example, i read this one jill lepore book that was... fine... but there was a review of it that was like, "it's weird that based on her sources she didn't consult the largest and most important archive related to this place during this period, and as a result is mistaken about how common or uncommon certain things she describes are." i have never heard of that archive so i am glad someone pointed that out!
you can't always do that, obviously, and also sometimes you don't want to. but i think doing that regularly for a while helped me increase my intellectual humility and build the habit of filing things i read as "interesting if true" while leaving room for the fact that maybe they're not. (honestly the maintenance phase subreddit felt like a podcast version of this, lol, and i appreciated it a lot!)
idk. there is a fad these days for teaching "critical thinking skills"; as i mentioned in the post i assume prompted this, there is also debate about whether this is even a thing. in grad school, i felt like i saw a lot of people who had learned to mimic what they thought of as critical thinking by asking things like, "what about kids who belong to [a particular underrepresented group]?" or "how does the author have bias?" and those are good questions to ask, but knowing to ask those questions is not the same as thinking critically. if i were to try to give a shorthand question that guides my own attempts to think critically, it would be something like, "how does this person establish that what they claim to be true is actually true?" the sources they use are part of this, yes, but, again, asking "what about the sources???" is not, in and of itself, critical thinking. you also have to think about things like, "they go from this idea to that idea, but does idea 2 actually follow from idea 1?" and the number one bias you have to watch out for is your own.
i want to state again here that this is not a binary and the goal is not to be good at it, it's to keep getting better. years ago, i read an article in the atlantic by a professor of math education about the importance of counting on one's fingers in early math. i was like, wow, that's so cool and interesting. i had a first grader who was really struggling with some very basic stuff, and i did some exercises from the article with him because i thought they might help. maybe three years later, if that, i came across the article again, because i had just looked up something else by the author and been like, "wait, what? this seems blatantly not factual?" i remembered that i had liked this thing she had said about finger-counting, and i went back to try to figure out if that one had been better or if i had been mistaken, and i was, like, horrified that the atlantic had printed this and that i had once read it and nodded along like "so true bestie." the article was full of leaps in logic that sounded good but weren't actually supported at all. i'm sharing this story because if you feel like you are bad at critical thinking.... like, me too, sometimes!!!!! everyone is!!!!! if someone tells you they are super awesome at critical thinking all the time, that person is a fucking idiot and you shouldn't trust them for shit!!!!!
one other thing i can't not address: i once not too long ago made a post to the effect of "my life got a lot better when i accepted the possibility of being stupid," so i did not want to harp on this off the bat or too strongly for fear of being a hypocrite, lol, and i don't want to argue with you, a total stranger, about your perception of yourself, because i am allergic to people doing that to me. however, i would feel wrong not to mention that the specific phrasing and language you use in your ask suggests to me that when you think of yourself as "really fucking stupid," there is likely a significant emotional component in that belief and the emotions that it brings up in you, and i would be pretty surprised if it were not at least partly a reflection of your general relationship with yourself. i am telling you this because it reminds me of the way that i used to think about myself in my brain. i reliably performed well academically when i wasn't having a nervous breakdown, but i thought of myself as deeply stupid until mid twenties. there are a couple of factors i can point to regarding why i don't feel that way anymore, but by far the biggest, i think, is just that i don't hate myself the way i used to. thinking of myself as stupid in the particular vitriolic way your ask reminded me of was never actually about my smarts or lack thereof. it was just a manifestation of my deep and painful self-loathing. so i encourage you to cultivate a way of being kind to yourself, of forgiving yourself, of letting go of the shame you might be carrying about your skills or about other things that might seem unrelated. my final answer to your question is that there's hope for your capacity to grow, but it's also okay for you to be where you are. this is about reading, but it's also about everything else.
finally, if you are confused about anything i've written here, feel free to ask for clarification. i am good with words and i've tried to be clear, but one of the writing-related skills i suck MOST at is being able to gauge whether or not i have written something in a needlessly confusing way, lmao.

I have now finally seen the Mario movie. It was Pretty Good. Here are my wordy thoughts on it. (I am going to spoil the entire movie. Duh.)
In many ways, the Mario movie does what I wish the first Sonic movie had done. They just took the characters and the premise and the world from the games, and made it a straightforward animated adventure movie. It's bright and colorful and remixes things JUST enough to include fun elements from multiple games, and it doesn't make Mario get adopted by James Marsden or whatever. It even has the music!
That's all you really need, right? Right...?
Tumblr media
I'll get this out of the way up front. Chris Pratt was fine. He's fine
If anything, it really feels like they did the movie a disservice by letting us hear so little of the Mario voice in the previews. It took one scene for Pratt to disappear into the role for me. It was totally fine. If anything, I found Charlie Day's normal voice coming out of Luigi WAY more distracting, even if I did like him in the role.
Everyone else was pretty good, for the most part. Jack Black was obviously very good as Bowser, but I'm biased. Seth Rogen does the Seth Rogen laughs as Donkey Kong, but I thought DK was fun, too. (I liked his little rivalry with Mario where he was just constantly giving him shit.) The only casting choice I truly hated was Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong. I hated every line that came out of his mouth. He sounds atrocious. Just the worst. I swear to fucking god if they do a DKC movie and we have to hear him for 90 minutes
I did think Peach was lacking, but that was on the script, not Anya Taylor-Joy's performance. It's cool to see Peach fight, but it's one of those all too common instances where the writers put so much effort into making the main girl kick ass and be an effortlessly confident girlboss that they forgot to give her an actual personality. Not that I'd point to Super Princess Peach and its mood swing superpowers as positive representation or anything, but there's a happy middle ground, surely. Shrek was 22 years ago, just having the princess do flying kung fu kicks isn't enough.
Okay. With the voices out of the way, let's talk about the big picture:
It's way better than the words "Illumination Mario movie" implied, and I mostly enjoyed my time with it. The spirit of Mario is there 100%. But I'd also describe it as "ruthlessly efficient."
This was perhaps the main complaint critics had, and they were absolutely right. People have responded to these totally average reviews with "Well, what did you expect? Shakespeare?! It's MARIO!!" Like, yes, I would prefer it if the movie I paid to see had writing that was good instead of bad. What a shocker. My issue isn't that it's not "high-brow" enough. The problem is that it feels mercenary. It feels like an editor went through and deleted almost every line of dialogue that isn't some form of exposition, at the expense of the pacing. Any scene that's not a montage or some sort of action is kept as short as they could make it, with barely any room for embellishment, character interaction, or anything other than the bare minimum word count to hit all the typical Save the Cat Hollywood screenwriting 101 story beats to the letter. There aren't even as many jokes as you might think (and the ones that are there are extremely hit or miss, including a lot of the slapstick with Mario himself).
Tumblr media
Mario and Peach's little arc together in the front half of the film is probably the worst example of this pacing. Even having read reviews that complained about how fast Peach goes from meeting Mario (by her admission the first other human she's ever met) to deciding to train him as the new savior of the Mushroom Kingdom, I was SHOCKED at how fast it was. They don't even lampshade it.
Peach takes Mario straight into the big training sequence where he learns how to use mushrooms and jump over platforming obstacles. Peach is apparently already a hypercompetent platforming pro and a great fighter, so there's no clear reason why she's taking the time to train this random guy to be half as good as her when the world is in danger. Then they set off on their adventure, Toad joins them, and we get a VERY brief travel montage. It's about thirty seconds total - just long enough to give Peach a line about how she wants to protect this beautiful world of hers to try and give her some stakes. We get the genre-mandated nighttime campfire heart to heart, which is exactly long enough to have Mario say he misses Luigi and to have Peach give the two sentence summary of her origin story and not a second longer. Then they reach the Kongs, and their big journey is complete. (They barely interact for the rest of the movie.) So much of the movie is like this - always ready to get on to the next scene as soon as a new one starts.
I'm not criticizing the script because I expect The Super Mario Bros. Movie to be a prestige drama - although there are certainly halfhearted attempts at a dramatic arc. The stuff with Mario's family was a fun enough idea, but again, ruthless efficiency. We get one quick scene with them at the start to give Mario some pathos, because I guess Save the Cat said he's gotta have some pathos. And then Mario gets his dad's approval amidst the action of the final battle in Brooklyn to resolve his arc, just so the movie can end as quickly as possible once Bowser is defeated. (Despite now having the approval of their family and their community back in Brooklyn, Mario and Luigi move to the Mushroom Kingdom off-screen without a single word dedicated to this decision, because that's where they live in the games.)
Look. I am not comparing it to The Godfather. Don't give me that shit. I am not asking for an extra half hour to explore Mario and Luigi's childhood trauma. I am not asking for the complex inner workings of the Mushroom Kingdom monarchy. I know this is gonna be a basic Hero's Journey adventure for kids. It just feels like it's turning down so many opportunities to have a little fun with the characters, to let them interact and play off of each other, to let there be some adventure on this adventure. This is the first time we've gotten to see these characters interact with fully voiced dialogue in a very, very long time! "Yeah, it's not High Art, but it's FUN!" Stories are fun! Character interactions are fun! The script could be having so much more fun!! It is adamantly against making the Story parts of this story-driven movie any more Fun than they functionally need to be!!!
Mario, Peach, and Toad's journey to find the Kongs is shorter than the training montage that precedes it. After the opening, Bowser mostly just sits in his castle and waits for the third act to start. Luigi's there, too, but he only gets one scene with Bowser and then the movie mostly forgets he exists until the climax. He doesn't even get to try and sneak out of Bowser's castle and get up to hijinx. He's just there to be a motivation for Mario, so he sits in a cage for half the movie. It's the bare outline of a script with action scenes added in.
Tumblr media
Aside from the fact that it's Jack Black singing as Bowser, I feel like this overly-efficient script might be part of the reason why the "Peaches" scene stands out so much. It's a moment that didn't strictly need to be there to keep the plot moving or to provide an action setpiece. It's not even a reference to another Mario thing. It's just a fun and memorable little character moment that's there for its own sake. That's what the movie needed more of. To stop and smell the roses more often. To play in the space.
To be clear, this isn't a unique problem with this movie. Critics have been noting for years that second acts are disappearing from big Hollywood movies in favor of the Act I plot setup and the Act III action, even though Act II is supposed to be where you get to explore your actual premise. And lots of animated movies give me this exact same vibe of being too "screenwriterly," or feeling like they had an executive breathing down their necks and demanding changes based on focus testing. But these common issues are why I come away mostly feeling like the movie is on the better end of "average," rather than totally blowing my mind. You have seen this movie many times before, just not with Mario in it.
And, of course, there's the music. The score by Brian Tyler based on various classic Mario and Donkey Kong tunes (frustratingly all attributed to Koji Kondo) is absolutely beautiful, but it's unfortunately frequently overshadowed by the licensed music. Everyone already complained about things like the use of Take On Me in place of a lovingly arranged DKC medley, but it feels illustrative of the tug of war the movie is caught in the middle of, between wanting to be a lavishly faithful Mario movie and wanting to be a generic tentpole animated adventure movie. Every single licensed song used is the most obvious, overused song they could have picked for the scene. It reeks of cynical executive meddling and it took me out of the movie every time.
Tumblr media
But there really was a lot of care and love put into this movie - more than probably any other video game movie ever made, not that that's a high bar. I don't want to underplay that too much amidst all my complaints spurred by the absolutely insane response to the reviews.
Aside from the countless background references that people will be picking apart for years, touches like the Captain Toad tune playing in the background of Toad's introduction or the Mario Kart 8 menu music playing in the kart garage really help bring it to another level of authenticity. I also enjoyed seeing some more obscure Mario enemies that felt like they were picked more for being fun to animate than for being nostalgic and marketable. No matter how many times I sarcastically pointed to the screen and deadpanned "reference. reference." I am not immune to noticing these things and smiling. I am not immune to the DK Rap. These alone don't make the movie good, but it's nice to have a video game movie that feels like it was made by people who like video games.
Most importantly, the animation is great throughout. It's leaps and bounds ahead of other Illumination work, and it's the best the Mario cast has ever looked. They even made Donkey Kong handsome, somehow. They're all so squishy and expressive, and they move so fluidly - especially in the action scenes. I particularly liked the more kinetic ones like the aerial Banzai Bill chase and the Mario Kart sequence. Truly, the Mad Max-inspired car battle on Rainbow Road where Mario literally does the speedrun shortcut is this movie firing on all cylinders.
Other, more hand-to-hand fights nail the Popeye-esque vibe Mario should be going for. He's an underdog who gets the shit kicked out of him by bigger, stronger opponents until he gets his signature powerup and turns the tables on them. My favorite animation of all probably came from the use of Cat Mario to turn the tide in the DK fight. They had so much fun making Mario move like a cat. Again, it feels like a choice made because it'd be fun to animate rather than just a nostalgia move.
It's that animation and that attention to detail that carry the film, really. They elevate it from mediocrity into being a fun watch for a fan like me, albeit one I couldn't help but pick apart with Anthony as we watched it at home. I'm glad I saw it, but there's a lot of room to improve with the inevitable sequel. I hope they do. I can't deny that I had fun with the movie, but I hope next time that fun is partially because of the script instead of in spite of it.
Stray thoughts:
Overall, I would say I enjoyed the movie a lot more than Sonic 1, but probably not as much as Sonic 2. Not that these movies need to be pitted against each other.
I hated the Luma. I hated how hilarious they clearly thought the Luma was. They have the fucking Luma break the fourth wall to end the movie and start the credits. This is going to be a deep cut for fans of bad animated films, but the whole time I was just thinking of the little fish from Romeo & Juliet: Sealed With A Kiss who's just the director's kid saying random nonsense. You know I'm right
I rolled my eyes at the "our princess is in another castle" joke and several other jokes that would have been dated in a gamer webcomic 20 years ago but I guess they had to be there
How much of Brooklyn did Bowser's giant floating castle take out? We know 9/11 happened in this universe because the Freedom Tower is there, hasn't New York been through enough
I can't believe there's a Diskun easter egg
The dog is the most Illumination character design in the movie. It felt like it wandered on set from The Secret Life of Pets
Mario being a gamer and playing Kid Icarus of all things just made me remember this tweet:

Yes Anthony did get mad at me for being thirsty for Bowser

Hey Mike! I'm really sorry to hear about your experience on Hill House. I do a lot of work in VFX in pre/prod/post and I know that sort of production that feels like a sinking ship day in and day out. I do hope you have found some catharsis now that it's over.
The show shook me. Changed me. Made me reckon with myself as a storyteller and as a person. All for the better, I assure you.
I hope to one day tell such an impactful story of my own, either through one of my short films, or through the novel series I'm writing/illustrating. Which brings me to my question: How do you navigate the complexities of having authored a work that did so much harm to yourself but also did a lot of good for others? What lessons do you hope aspiring storytellers like myself take from your difficult experience? Thanks :)
Thank you for saying this.
It's true, HILL HOUSE was a very negative experience to make - but I will always be profoundly proud of the finished product. It's some of my favorite work. I may never again face down something as challenging as episode 6, and I love the impact it has on a lot of its viewers.
There's a weird thing that happens when you finish a project - it really ceases to be yours in any way at all. It belongs immediately to the audience, and they're given an experience that you will never have. When HILL HOUSE came out, I didn't watch it - I'd seen it hundreds of times by that point, but at the same time, I've NEVER seen it.
Every frame of it is informed by my experience making it, or my intentions, or the compromises we made here, or the line we cut there that I wish we'd kept, or a bad day on set, or a problematic actor, or a visual effect we never quite got right (there are a LOT of those in HILL HOUSE, some of them still make me wince.) So I'm never able to WATCH the show. It's a tradeoff we make all the time - if you're lucky enough to make a movie, or a TV show, that's the price of it - you'll never be able to watch it.
But, I get to see how it affects other people. More than anything else I've made, HILL HOUSE seems to have the largest and most passionate fanbase. (BLY is a close second, though that's a whole other blog entry - I could write a book about the complicated, fascinating experience of the BLY fandom).
But with HILL HOUSE, I'd hear a lot from people who lost loved ones, who navigate complicated family dynamics, and who have wrestled with depression or grief. It means the world to me. It's a strange divide, as I'll never see the show that they saw - but I am so grateful that it touched them the way it did.
I'm just about at the point where I think I'm capable of sitting down and truly watching HILL HOUSE. It takes years sometimes. I've watched a lot of my early work, like HUSH or GERALD'S GAME, and finally had the experience of really SEEING it. But HILL HOUSE has always felt a little too raw, and my memories still overpower my ability to separate myself from it. Maybe that's changed. Maybe I'll give it a shot this year. Half a decade seems like enough time.
But yes, it is complicated and strange with all of them. I so badly want to watch MIDNIGHT MASS, the project that was the most personal to me - but it flew off into the world just like they all do. I spent a decade working on it, and felt it flowing through me every day - like it was a part of me. But the moment the show was done and released into the world, it wasn't mine anymore, just like all the others. I remember feeling almost knocked over when it departed, for some reason I thought that one would always feel like a part of me... but no. They're like children, they all have to go live their own lives, and they don't belong to you. Not really.

Heart sleep headcanons because Heart's a massive comfort to me and I wanna come up with sleepycore stuff for him.
•When he sleeps, the little moon on his halo sparkles softly, and the light coming from the orb on each of his rings (plus halo) starts to dim.
•He sleeps with his childhood stuffie, Dragon, which is, you guessed it, a dragon. Dragon has mint green fur and dark green/cream accents, and soft but worn fur due to years of use; he was given to Heart by Cameron (Whole in our AU, just letting y'all know this AU is like CRAZY canon-divergent) when he was just a little idfant as the doll was passed down from Cam to Heart after he was emancipated and had his own home.
•His wings will softly flutter in his sleep, in the same way a dog will whimper and its legs will jerk.
•He shares his dreams with Mind! They both are talented lucid dreamers and remember their dreams very well, all these abilities coming from their species being distant relatives to dreamons (what dream creatures are called in my universe!).
•I like to think that while sometimes he snores, he tends to make a hooting sound when he sleeps, almost like a mix between an owl and a cat trill!
•He loves to sleep with lots and lots of blankets and pillows, and loves to sleep with his head covered by the blanket. He physically cannot sleep without weighted blankets, similarly to how he cannot be comfortable and at ease without wearing a hoodie, so he sleeps as if he's being held all of the time.
•Mind in our (nkgrimmie and my's) AU always wakes up at 5AM sharp to take a shower, and Heart often wakes up to the sound of him leaving his room to go rinse himself off. Heart finds the sound of him showering relaxing, and likes to hear Mind kinda do his thing before dozing back off to sleep.
•Speaking of Mind, Heart and Mind love to cuddle (in a familial way ofc). Mind holds Heart in his arms and Heart clings to him and uses the former's muscle as a comfy place to rest his head. Sometimes, when something bad happens (*looks at Soul*) or just when the day's been long, Heart enters Mind's room, and Mind sighs, and they have a nice little cuddle at night. It brings me joy knowing these two are so close in my AU. :)
•Heart is a bit of an oversleeper and sometimes Cameron/Soul goes to wake him up but he really isn't feeling it, so he just smiles a bit and leaves him to rest, most likely repositioning Dragon in his arms.
•Heart also gets extremely tired as a trauma response, but trying to keep things wholesome so I'll cover that another time. :)
•Due to sensory issues (ADHD), Heart sleeps with his blindfold off and leaves it by his cotside. It gives his eyes a nice break and ensures a good night's rest, given how much Heart values his sleep as the best part of his day.
•Heart has a semi-large collection of pyjamas in his closet that are washed at least kind of regularly (most likely thanks to Mind). They often have star/space themes to them, as does Heart's blanket, pillow, and cotsheets, and he loves to relax in his pyjamas while watching YouTube, namely Game Theory/Film Theory, Markiplier, CrankGameplays, and Alan Becker, as well as just generally nostalgic YouTubers for him. :)
•Before cot, Heart likes to sit on the porch and stargaze. It tends to tire him out, and they live in a semi-rural part of town decently away from light pollution so they (HMS/W) can actually see a pretty good amount of space from there. Sometimes Mind joins him on the porch and watches alongside them, and Heart gets to geek out a bit about stars while slowly falling asleep; and then can be carried inside and tucked in. :)
There's ABSOLUTELY more, I'll most likely make a pt ii when I can. :)
Enjoy my little comfort headcanons on the little tired boy. <3

“I'm just saying it's a hot idea,” You shrink further into the corner of the sofa, oblivious to the ecstatic look Stu gives Billy over your shoulder. “Adrenaline and fear can make you horny you know, not that I want to be chased by Michael Myers or anything, just the whole chase thing-, it’s just a hot thought.”
It is. It is a hot thought. Can I request Billy or Stu, or both, chasing reader down?
A drabble of Predator/Prey kink with Stu.
18+ F!Reader. Dubcon/noncon, poorly thought out dubiously consented cnc, rough sex, abusive relationships. Not proof read.
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
“What?”
“It'll be fun. I've even got a mask,” Stu holds up the wolf mask with a wide grin. It’s obviously a cheap dollar store Halloween thing, more comical than scary but you don’t comment on it. “Appropriate right?” His hand drops, sighing when you don’t respond. “C’mon bunny you said you were into it.”
“I am. I just didn't-,"
“Is it the wolf thing? I have a hockey mask, I could- I could be Jason instead?” He trails his hand over the knife block on the kitchen counter, a sudden tension in his shoulders.
“Pretty sure Jason used a machete. And here I thought you were a fan.” The thought of Stu chasing you down in the dark with a knife is terrifying compared to him in a cheap wolf mask but you try to keep control of your sudden nerves in case he notices.
“I am. It was a knife in the first film.” He’s momentarily distracted from his knife perusal as he looks back up at you, looking slightly offended at your little dig.
“Yeah and that wasn’t Jason,” You stick your tongue out at him. “You don’t really have the figure for Pamela.”
“Fine, good point.” He raises his hands up in surrender. He looks oddly relieved but the grin doesn’t falter as he picks the wolf mask back up. “Wolf it is.”
It falls silent, Stu watching and obviously waiting for you to say something. He clicks his tongue when you don’t. “You don’t need to be embarrassed. It's just us babe, for miles around. No one will know.”
That's not reassuring but despite the evening’s potential activity being abruptly sprung on you as soon as you walked in his front door, you can’t deny the small frisson of interest and he's practically vibrating with how excited he is, it’s infectious.
“Don't wolves hunt in packs?”
Stu’s smile drops slightly. “He's busy.”
“Does he know at least? He'll be annoyed we’re having fun without him.”
“So? He’s hot when he’s annoyed. Hot and bossy.” Stu’s grin returns as he waggles his eyebrows at you. “Just means more fun for us after he finds out.”
“I don't know-,”
“C’mon,” He repeats a hint of frustration in his tone. “It's your kink. I'm trying to do something nice here.”
“Stu-,”
“Isn't it? Thought you wanted the big bad monster to chase you through the woods?” He steps closer, eyes narrowing and your breath catches in your throat. He stared at you, blue eyes growing darker and you felt a mix of fear and arousal stirring in your belly. “To catch you, pin you down and fuck your brains out right there in the dirt?”
“Stu-,” you huff. You're tempted, very much so but there's something about Stu chasing you down that has you hesitating. He had a tendency to take things too far.
“I want a safe word.”
“What?”
“A safe word. Its-,”
“I know what it is bunny.” He tilts his head. “I meant why?”
“Just in case. If it gets a little overwhelming? It wo-,”
He rolls his eyes at you. “You don't need a safe word, it's only a game.”
“I know bu-,”
“You say stop I'll stop alright?”
You shift your weight, crossing your arms and trying not to snap at him for the repeated interruptions. “….Alright.” You’re not happy about that but you guess it’s better than nothing. You eye the mask warily. “So I just what? Run?” You try to ignore the little tinge of apprehension, focusing instead on your growing arousal. “Doesn’t seem fair.”
“Thought that was what you wanted?”
“You said it’s a game,” You bite back a smile at his slight frown, obviously a little unhappy at you twisting his words back against him. “”So I must be able to win somehow.”
“If you can make it to the old barn on the other side of the woods,” He shrugs. “You win.”
“Win what?”
His eyes narrow. “You won’t.”
“I might. I’m fast,” You tilt your head as you think, a move he mirrors, making you feel even more unsettled. “If I make it, I want a date.”
He opens his mouth to reply but you hold your hand up and he shuts it again with a roll of his eyes.
“A proper romantic date. I want candles, flowers, a movie of my choice, dinner of my choice and…” You pause, debating how far to push this. “I want you to be… nice.”
“I’m always nice.” He pouts, but huffs when all you dare is stare at him.
You hold your breath as he thinks, his eyes fluttering closed for a second. You think he’s going to back out, but the ego wins out.
“Deal. I’ll be nice.” His voice is low and you shiver, ever so slightly. “Well, run then.”
Stu leans back against the kitchen wall with his arms crossed over his chest, trying hard to look relaxed and nonchalant but you can see how tense he is, his eyes never leaving you.
“Now??” You swallow hard, anticipation and adrenaline making your heart skip a beat at how fast he was pushing this along. “What if you catch me? What’s your prize?”
“You are my prize,” He licks his lips, his gaze roaming over you. You shivered again but you stayed still. “Ten.”
“Seriously?”
“Nine,” he said this time, raising a questioning eyebrow at you as he finally slides the wolf mask over his face, the big ears and rubbery pointy teeth suddenly looking more threatening than they did. “I’d hurry up if I were you bunny. The wolf is hungry.” It was cheesy, cliché comment, but his voice is cold, devoid of his usual arrogance and it chills you to your core. “Better run, pretty thing.”
So you run.
-------------------
Your muscles ached as you stumbled around a tree, trying to run as quick and quiet as possible. Your heart thumping wildly in your ears, your lungs burn with the effort of keeping yourself moving and it’s getting harder to breathe. It feels like you’ve run for miles, but you have a sneaking suspicion you haven’t got as far as you think you have. You don’t want to stop, but you have to, need to. You slow your pace, listening hard for any sounds of movement before stopping completely, ducking behind a tree and resting back against it, hands resting on your hips as you try to catch your breath for just a second. It’s quiet, barely any noise, save for your own heavy breathing.
“Ohhh we playing hide and seek now little rabbit? I know you're here.” Stu’s voice sends a chill down your spine, your hand flying to cover your mouth in an effort to stop the startled squeak that tries to escape you. You hadn’t even heard him approach, you know he can be quiet when he wants to be but the fact he managed to get so close scares you. He sounds excited, too excited.
You take a deep breath, sliding down the tree slowly in an effort to make yourself smaller, resisting the urge to take a peek.
You could hear him as he made his way closer; each step he took filling you with panicked excitement the closer and closer he came. The slightly manic urge to giggle threatening to overwhelm you as his boots thudded closer to your position, pausing briefly before he continued on with a call of your name.
You held your breath, an intense confusing amount of fear, anxiety and excitement keeping you frozen in place; you could hardly hear him over the pounding of your own heart.
His footsteps fade, and with a deep breath you take the opportunity to run, rising and taking off in the opposite direction.
You hear him immediately follow after you. Cursing yourself for moving too soon. He hadn’t been as far away as you’d thought but you don’t turn to look; you can’t afford to waste the time.
Another singsong call of your name has you stumbling; he’s so close behind you. Too close, you don’t want to stop but with your lungs burning and your aching muscles screaming at you to stop you’re definitely slowing down, and you know with a growing resignation that you’re not going to make it.
He catches you. You can’t help but scream as he grabs you, a sound of genuine fear but it cuts off abruptly as you hit the ground. His hand curls round the back of your head as he twists, taking the brunt of the fall but the fight is still stunned out of you for a moment. It’s tempting to surrender but his smug little chuckle fuels you. He’s won, you know it, he knows it, but you’re not going to make it easy on him, bucking your hips and twisting frantically to try and throw him off of you.
He swears as you knock his mask off, his hands closing tightly round your wrists and he brings them up above your head, using one hand to keep them there as he pushes himself between your legs, pinning you completely. Somehow you always forget how strong he is, his show of strength giving you a slightly unwanted rush of desire.
“Gotcha,” he teases. “Stay still.” He grunts as you try to scramble backward again, his fingers digging into your wrists. “The chase was fun little rabbit, but I want my prize.”
You don’t like the nickname; it feels more threatening and way less affectionate than bunny. He shoves your t-shirt up over your hips, your attempts to pull your hands from his grip earning you a sharp slap to your thigh.
“Still, that is your last warning.” He sounds annoyed and your panic develops a small hint of fear, making you freeze beneath him. It takes him undoing your jeans and tugging them down your thighs to make you move again.
“Stop,” you hiss. “Stu, time out. Stop.”
He doesn’t, he ignores you in favour of tugging at his own belt, and the fear takes over. You wrench your wrist from his grip, the need to have him just stop for a second helping you ignore the flare of pain as you do so. You slap him across the face without a second thought, his head snapping to the side.
He doesn’t speak, jaw clenching and swallowing hard as he keeps his gaze away from you. He inhales slowly, and in that split second it’s pure cold fear that runs down your spine. He looks back at you slowly, tongue probing at his lip, his hair dishevelled and his face flushed. He doesn’t look entirely present, his eyes are glassy as he stares at you but he gives you a grin as he wipes the back of his hand across his mouth. “Knew you'd get in to it.”
You kick out, pushing him back only slightly as you turn around onto your hands and knees, trying desperately to scramble away. He yanks you back hard by your jeans, pulling them further down your thighs and shoves you down onto your stomach, forcing himself between your knees as one hand presses between your shoulder blades to keep you still.
“Bunny,” Stu coos, and you tries not to bristle, irritated and ashamed, scared and turned on in one confusing mix. “I caught you.”
The use of your usual nickname is oddly calming, and the warm weight of Stu’s palm as it slides up your spine to rest across the nape of your neck makes you shiver.
"I know you like it. Having no other choice but to take it like a good little girl?"  Stu finally broke the silence, his hand squeezed at your neck gently, thumb rubbing over your pulse, his voice dropping to a whisper as he leaned in close. "You need a big strong man to come pin you down, stretch you open, take what he wants and make you enjoy it?”
You could hear the smile on his face as he spoke, and it infuriated you beyond belief.  Your breath came out in short huffs as you tried to ignore the growing feeling of unease in your gut. This was morphing into a different type of game, one you were not sure you wanted to play. Not that you’d really thought through what he’d do when he caught you but this was a little more extreme than you had expected.
"Well?" His fingers flexed against your neck. "Say it. I want to hear you say it."
You wanted him to stop, to give you a minute to collect yourself but a part of you also wanted him to continue. None of those words escaped you though, instead you whined, defeated and aroused, and you could just see the wide grin of Stu’s mouth at your reaction.
He groans your name as his arm slides under you and across your stomach, raising your hips and forcing you onto your knees. His fingers dipping inside the hem of your panties and pulling them down to expose you to his hungry gaze. The sound of his zipper was enough to make you push your ass back toward him, drawing another low groan from him as he rocks his hips forward, the thick head of his cock rubbing up and down your folds.
“Billy would love this game,” He lands a hard slap on your ass, your pained cry turning into a breathy whimper as his fingers dipped between your legs and brushed over your clit. “Feel kinda bad now not telling him.”
“Slow,” you’re almost hyperventilating, reaching back to press a hand against his hip pointlessly. “Go slow please.”
He doesn’t say anything but he does seemingly listen to you, pushing forward slowly but firmly, drawing a hoarse gasp from you as he pushes inside. You wheezed out a moan, the breath stolen from your lungs as you were stretched. He didn't stop until he was buried in you to the hilt, the head of his cock grinding painfully against your cervix and your free hand snapping to his thigh in an effort to stop him. “Too much, Stu, don’t.” You expect him to ignore you, maybe a harsh thrust of his hips to torture you some more but he surprises you by stilling and waiting. You take a deep breath, trying once again to steady yourself as you waited for the burn of the stretch to wear off.
Stu rocks his hips slowly, testing you, obviously starting to get bored with waiting; your discomfort easing even more the moment Stu’s fingers seeked out your clit, brushing and teasing over the delicate nerves.
You bucked back into his hold, fingers digging into the dirt beneath you. He didn't let up, shushing you as you clenched around him.
“Does it hurt?” You can’t speak; a whimper is the only response you give as he shifts his weight on top of you. “My poor bunny.” He grips your hip, holding you in place as he starts to fuck you with short hard thrusts. You can hear the scuffing of his boots digging into the ground, dried leaves and branches crackling beneath him as he shifts, trying to get a better angle, one he can’t seem to find as he mutters under his breath, finally looming over you, pressing his chest to your back and curling a hand around your throat.
Stu shudders at your choked noise. He’s going to cum, he’s going to cum too soon. He bites back at whine as he rolls his hips slower, trying to drag the whole thing out for as long as he can. You squirm a little, accompanied by short gasp of air and he moans in response. He likes it too much, likes being bigger and stronger than you, likes that you can’t stop him; that you can’t do anything about it.
“I could do anything to you right now bunny,” He pants. “No one – fuck – no one knows you’re here. I could I could-,” He cuts off with a low groan as he feels you cum around him, your moan turning into a strangled whine, your nails digging into his arm as your walls tightened around him. He wasn't going to last. His mind kept wandering to how soft you were, how fucking small you looked struggling under him, how powerful it made him feel. He leaned forward, letting go of your neck and nuzzling into you with a sudden desperate need to be closer.
His heart swells with the way you tilt your head to the side to expose more of your throat to him, but the rush of affection is overridden with morbid curiosity as he wonders what you’d do if he buried his teeth into your neck. You trust him too much, you trust him way more than he trusts himself. The sudden urge to hurt you making him feel a little nauseous, his thrusts faltering, his rising orgasm threatening to ebb away. He swallows hard, trying to shove the thoughts away as he leans back on his heels, staring at the red handprint he’s left on your right cheek, but they persist. Images of you that conflict confusingly in his head. You’d look so fucking pretty all bruised up and fucked out and bloody. That last image pushes him over the edge hard. His pace stopping abruptly, burying himself as deep in your cunt as he could as he emptied himself into you.
He makes a noise, something between a growl and a whimper, something he’d feel a little embarrassed about if he had been more aware as you go limp underneath him. Your elbows give out and he follows you down, his chest flush against your back and one hand next to your head, mindful not to crush you beneath his weight.
Stu exhales as he grinds slowly into you, a slow quivering breath as he mouths at your neck, over stimulated and overwhelmed with violent thoughts, a little prickle of self hatred creeping over him.
“I love you,” he whispers against your shoulder. “I love you so much I don’t know what to do about it sometimes.”
“Love you too.” You mumble automatically. You mean it but your breath is shaky and it comes out a little choked, tears threatening to spill. You feel exposed, raw.
Stu closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, forcing himself to relax, trying to get control of his frenzied thoughts. You’re too much, your sounds, your scent, the feel of you wet and warm around his cock, he needs some distance. He shifts away from you, pulling his own clothes straight before he helps you stand but steps away while you clumsily pull your jeans and panties back up. You try not to wince at the damp sticky feeling between your thighs, desperate to get back to his house and a hot shower, focusing on the physical unpleasantness as way to try and ground yourself. You swallow hard and reach out for him, beckoning him over with trembling fingers.
He stays still and something sharp and painful stabs at your heart.
“C’mon, need my big strong man to carry me home.”
His lips twitch but he still doesn't smile and butterflies swarm in your stomach, more than a little confused at what he’s thinking.
“I wouldn't hurt you, like hurt you hurt you,” He sighs, sounding unsure, like he’s trying to reassure himself more than you. “You know that right?”
“I- I know.” You don’t notice the way he flinches slightly at your stumbled words, too focused on trying to stand up right. Now the pleasure is ebbing you can feel the various aches and pains flaring to life. You’re sore all over, and your wrist is throbbing from where you’d pulled away from him. You’re going to be suffering for several days, you can already tell.
He just stares at you and you think he’s going to leave you there, because he would. You can’t walk back, your legs are still trembling and you feel incredibly vulnerable. He glances away from you at the quiet plea of his name, making tears prick at your eyes again and you suddenly desperately want him to hug you or hold your hand, for him to just touch you anywhere.  “Stu,” You beckon him over. “Help me, seriously.”
He watches you blankly for an uncomfortably long second before he blinks and the smug look and grin are back as he approaches, hooking an arm round your waist. “Always so needy.” Stu mumbled softly as he presses a kiss to your forehead, the soft stroking of his thumb along your hip bone soothing your frazzled nerves as he starts a slow pace back towards his house. He’s still quiet, unusually so, and you’re unable to gauge his true mood despite your constant glances at his face.
He seems almost annoyed, or even upset under the smug mask he’s projecting, his attitude not mixing well with how shaky and emotional you still feel. Had you done something wrong? “That was-,” Fun? Scary? Borderline terrifying? They all seem the wrong word.
“Was?” He prompts, finally glancing down at you but doesn’t say anything further.
“An experience.” It was hard to think, like a fog had settled over your mind, leaving you dazed and groggy. You force yourself to grin, shoving your confused feelings to the side. You need him to distract you, to reassure you. Of what you’re not sure, you just-, you swallow hard, you feel unsafe, oddly rejected. The realisation startles you, your fingers curling into his shirt as you try to push yourself closer to him.
He hums in response, fingers tightening against your hip slightly but it’s not enough; you need him to look at you, to talk to you. He seems reluctant to do either so you decide to go with a true and tested way to get Stu to engage with you. Annoying him. Turning into his chest and nipping sharply at his nipple through his shirt, making him grunt. “Maybe you can be the rabbit next time. Against Billy and me, you wouldn’t stand a chance.”
There’s a pause. A split second pause where you think he’s going to ignore you but then he sighs.
“No way in hell, you’re the bunny,” He snorts and relaxes against you, tugging your free hand up to his mouth to press a flurry of kisses over your fingers, nipping at your thumb. “I’m all wolf baby.”
“Wolf cub maybe,” Your smile is more genuine this time as his eyes narrow and he glares at you out the corner of his eye. “What? Long limbed, clumsy, hyper, you basically scream ‘puppy’.”
His fingers dig into your ribs, making you shriek but you curl into him rather than away, your laugh turning slightly hysterical as you swallow thickly around the rising tears again.
“I really didn’t get that far did I?” You eye the sight of his house with more than a little disappointment. It had felt like you’d ran for miles.
“You did great,” He presses a quick kiss to your temple. You’re upset, he can tell that much, but you’re trying to hide it. He doesn’t like it and he doesn’t know what to do about it.  “Hey.” He stops walking when you don’t respond, turning you round to face him. “You got pretty far. No need to cry about it.” He hesitates, momentarily distracted by the stray tear running down your cheek, pushing away the temptation to lick it up. His gaze flicks down to your mouth, trying to ignore the confusing feelings as well as fighting to suppress his frustration and desire for Billy to just fucking get here already and rescue him. “Stu-,” You’re wanting something from him but he doesn’t understand what it is, so he draws you into a kiss instead, hoping that he’s conveying all the mixed feelings he has for you in to it, that you can somehow understand from the slow glide of his tongue over yours that he wants to give you what you want, even if he doesn’t know how.

You Should Watch Moonlight Chicken
Welcome to my formal rec of this show, which has stolen my heart so completely over the last few weeks.
Tumblr media
What is it?
Thai BL series from GMMTV which has just finished airing (as of March 2, 2023). The characters all revolve around a chicken rice diner called Moonlight Chicken. It's got eight episodes a little over an hour each.
Couples:
Jim and Wen:
Tumblr media
The main characters and couple are Jim (left above) and Wen (right). They meet when Wen passes out drunk at Jim's restaurant one night and they end up talking and flirting and then going home for a "no strings attached" one night stand.
Afterwards Wen is determined to attach strings but Jim holds firm to his "no complications" rule. Wen starts working part time at the diner in a not-at-all-sneaky plot to win him over.
Heart and Li Ming:
Tumblr media
The adorable teen couple of Jim's nephew Li Ming, who he is raising, and Heart, a boy who has been extremely isolated since becoming deaf three years ago. They quickly develop a friendship and learn to communicate and it's heartwarming and adorable right up until it deal with very real issues of ableism.
Other characters:
Alan
Tumblr media
He's Wen's not-quite-or-maybe ex. It's complicated. The show might be just as much about Wen and Alan as Wen and Jim, but theirs is a breakup story.
Gaipa:
Tumblr media
He's a young friend of Jim, with a massive crush on him. Unrequited love and his relationship with his amazing mom is his focus. Standout performance from the actor.
Saleng:
Tumblr media
The token straight. I felt bad leaving him out, okay? He's a good boy.
Okay but what's it ABOUT?
Life. Love. Relationships. Growing up, healing, building community and family even in the face of adversity.
Could you elaborate?
Okay look, the way the plot of this show was sold was "One Night Stand leads to complications when one of them already has a boyfriend?!? Drama!" Which is downright misleading. I showed up for messy gay drama and got a profound piece of queer cinematic art about the struggles of modern life and love and relationships.
This is honestly not your typical BL series at all. It really does feel a lot more like serious drama, queer film, etc than what we are used to. (I'm not saying it's ALONE...just rare.) It feels like a director/creator coming into their own and really stretching their abilities.
Tumblr media
The cinematography is gorgeous, creating a quiet and pensive mood throughout. The acting is remarkable, excellent across the board with some real stand-out performances from the "side" characters.
The plot flirts with melodrama/soap opera turns but it always comes down on the side of grounded, realistic takes. I'll just say there are some moments that really hit me because they reflect experiences I've had in my life so well.
This show is very Adult to me. And by that, I don't mean steamy or sexy. It's really not, despite the first episode. It's a very chaste show, all things considered. I mean Adult in terms of These are Problems Adults Have. Dealing with the ending of relationships, getting over past relationship trauma, dealing with grief and loss, figuring out what you want in life, having to be there for your ex because they need you and you still care, etc. Just life, sometimes messy and painful, but ultimately beautiful.
If you can't tell I could go on for a while. But honestly, even if you're not a BL watcher normally, I recommend you give this a try. It's a feel-good show that will make you cry.
Okay where do I watch it?
Good news! The show is available for free on YouTube in its entirety! Just look for the GMMTV official channel.
Content Warnings under the cut to avoid potential spoilers but they will remain vague
Having sex while under the influence of alcohol but fairly lucid, cheating as a topic, breakups, ableism and parental neglect as a result, death of a partner, death of a parent, motor vehicle accident aftermath, age gap relationship(s)

Your elementary posts are inspiring me to rewatch elementary! Which is good bc i love elementary and bad bc i have so much programming homework to be doing.
Anyway, so on the topic of sherlock holmes:
Which screen (movie and tv) adaptation of sherlock holmes have you seen, and which ones do you think are best (true to original holmes) and best (most personally enjoyable to you)?
(I love your meta on fandom stuff in general - no pressure to answer tho! I just feel like you’d give an interesting reply on this)
Elementary is so good, I'm glad I inspired you to rewatch (but also, good luck with your homework lmao)
Now, to answer your question
It's worth noting that I... Did not read the original stories. Or well, I tried, but I didn't vibe with them originally (I tried to read them in high school after receiving a complete copy for my birthday from my sister), didn't get around to giving them a second chance, and eventually just exchanged my copy for some of my friend's books. So I can't really speak to how accurate any of these are to the originals, but I'll guess anyway lmao
So! Adaptations of Sherlock Holmes I've seen, in no particular order
Sherlock (BBC, 2010-2017) - first two seasons and an episode and a half of season 3
My experience of Sherlock BBC was heavily colored by superwholock and the reichenbach pause, which were the reason I watched the show in the first place, as I had not heard of the show previously. 2012-2013 Tumblr was truly another time. I believe around the same time I also binge watched the first two seasons of Game of Thrones, and I had very similar experiences with both of them: investment because they were pop culture phenomenon, and uncritical and quick consumption that left no room for my own feelings to develop. And in both cases when the third season premiered I discovered, much to my surprise, that I didn't actually like the show. I in fact had extremely pointed criticisms of the show, didn't enjoy the characters, and found the viewing experience to be tedious hard work. So... I do not like Sherlock (BBC), and never really did, although I continued to participate in superwholock as a fandom until its decline. The release of Sherlock is Garbage and Here's Why (dir. Hbomberguy, 2017) was an incredibly satisfactory experience, as it experienced my criticisms extremely well, and put to words my feelings that I hadn't even managed to turn into criticisms, plus pointing out flaws I hadn't even noticed. SiGaHW is one of my favorite films, a twice-yearly watch. Highly recommended. That said, Sherlock itself sucks and is both a bad show and has uncompelling "mysteries". Bad as an adaptation of the original stories and bad as in just bad. Bad.
Elementary (CBS, 2012-2019) - all seven seasons
I enjoy Elementary a great deal. I think it's sort of a model modern procedural, with the cases of the week nearly always being compelling to watch and the emphasis on the developing character dynamics being one of my favorite aspects. There are seasons I enjoy more or less but that's nearly always because of the ongoing subplots (Morland and Moriarty were significantly more compelling than Shinwell, for example) than the actual cases of the week, which again, are pretty much always extremely solid. I've rewatched this show several times, and I think it's extremely enjoyable. It's not perfect, but it gets points for, for example, having Mrs. Hudson be a trans woman all the way back in the early 2010s, and having an autistic woman as a love interest who felt like a genuine well rounded woman. It's also occasionally a little critical of the police in a way that stands out for a crime procedural, which is cool, but only a little. All in all, I like the show a lot, although it's not my favorite on this list. That said, the crime procedural is pretty much the most natural way to adapt the spirit of the original Holmes stories into modern day media, and it uses pretty much every notable character from the stories eventually including some of the mysteries (I really like the hounds storyline adaptation in particular!), so I think this wins best adaptation.
Sherlock Holmes (dir. Guy Ritchie, 2009) - just the first one
I'll be real with you I don't remember anything about this movie except that I watched it and had a fine time.
House (Fox, 2004-2012) - all eight seasons
Y'all know I'm currently in House brainrot, so obviously this ends up on the list. Excellent television, especially for people like me who live for a good procedural and were looking for something that wasn't a cop show. House is Holmes, Wilson is Watson, and the occasional Sherlock Holmes canon reference shows up, such as the guy who shot House being named Moriarty in the credits, or Wilson bullshitting the second gen ducklings about a woman named Irene Adler who was The Woman for House. It's a very good show - although not currently my favorite on the list - and any mystery of the week format is going to be at least a little inspired by the o.g., but it doesn't win over Elementary, which has actual murder and crime mysteries.
The Irregulars (Netflix, 2021) - like two episodes
Based on the concept of Sherlock's canon irregulars but it's a fantasy show! I heard great things but did not end up clicking with it. Obviously by virtue of it being a supernatural show it's not very based on the original, but at least there's mysteries that must be solved?
Sanctuary (Syfy, 2008-2011)
This show is the kind of thing I'd watch when it was on, back in the days where I would watch my parents' satellite television instead of downloading whole seasons of shows on my laptop (as I didn't have a laptop yet lmao). I remember it having dense plots, and vaguely remembered that one of the characters was Sherlock Holmes, and I googled it - it's actually Watson. But hey, that counts, so I included it. I remember enjoying the show but I could not tell you if it was actually good because my taste in 2010 was a bit of a mixed bag on account of me being 12. Anyway I would say it's probably a terrible adaptation and they most likely didn't even try considering the kind of show it was, and I wouldn't call it my favorite.
Psych (USA, 2006-2014; movies 2017, 2020, 2021) - eight seasons, 3 movies
Finally we reach my favorite of these shows. Is it the best one? Idk that's probably a competition between Elementary and House, really, because Psych gets quite silly in the later seasons. But I really do love this show and these characters so much. Like House, it is only a little inspired, but even more loosely so, with really only the idea of a guy who's really smart and eccentric and his best friend who seems normal but really is a bit of a freak (in Gus' case, actually way weirder than Shawn) sticking around. Shawn has eidetic memory and is wicked smart, and actually makes for some really good ADHD rep in my opinion. The comedy usually lands and the romance plot is one of my favorite slow burns and the serial killer episodes are high quality as shit and I love that there's a pineapple hidden in every single episode and I just. I love this show I love it so much
Anyway these are all the adaptations I've seen that I could think of. It's possible I missed something but only the kind of thing that doesn't say Holmes on it; I haven't seen Enola Homes, for example.
Thank you so much for asking I really appreciated this thought exercise of trying to remember every single bullshit TV show I've ever seen because, um, I've seen a lot of TV if I'm going to be honest.
Sorry for taking two weeks this was surprisingly hard and I have. A job

So
Elemental.
I think this movie handled the allegory of Asian immigration, first born generation, and the cultural ties and differences in a satisfying way that I didn't feel with either Turning Red and Everything Everywhere All At Once and yes, I think I will die on this hill.
Alright, alright, some bit of context is necessary and anything else to back this up is admittedly a personally biased one. Because I get that Turning Red's ending ultimately had to have a conclusion where Mei and her mother found a workaround. I get it. It didn't satisfy ME as an individual, because I just cannot get beyond the fact that at thirteen, I would have never changed my hardcore Asian parents the way the movie so neatly did, but I get it and if not a movie for young Asian kids to relate to so hard, then what?
And EEAAO is just, conceptually, a damn good, entertaining, thoughtful movie with a tried-and-true premise that feels especially novel for starring a middle-aged Asian woman.
In any case, Elemental doesn't push the boundaries or fill you with (intentional) emotional stress that either of the two films did: it's significantly more lowkey. And taken as a whole, neither the plot or its characters did anything for me - Pixar's second coming this ain't (and one particular scene where Wade supposedly died, but oh wait, he's aliiiiiiiive, feels emotionally cheap and something Pixar can no longer really get away with) - and in spite of its background and character design, the CGI is as bland and unassuming as the average big-budgeted western animated film.
No, what stuck with me was the little things that emphasized Ember's life as a first born gen:
It's the heavy pressure Ember feels, thinking her entire life was built to take over her father's shop because that place has been his dream for thirty years, and if she doesn't follow the path her parents expect of her, than she is a failure. The horrible guilt she faces knowing her parents sacrificed so much of their lives to give her a future means she has to drop everything and do the same for them, no matter how she feels. It's a horrible cycle, but so true of Asians, and something I've spent decades fighting off.
It's Wade's family praising Ember for speaking their language very well, spoken through well-meaning filters, but delivered in an unintentionally condescending tone. And Ember silently just takes it in, awkward as it may be, because it's damn clear this is probably the 14,000th time she has heard this and she is probably just so damn tired to do anything about it right now.
It's Ember's parents denouncing her romantic entanglement with Wade because they especially have it out for Water People through xenophobic, racist assumption of their kind; the movie doesn't sugarcoat that because they're considered minorities, they do not have prejudice and unjustified disgust of other people, too (sadly a reflection I have seen my parents carry, too.)
It's Ember and Wade's respective good-byes to their parents in the film's ending. Where Wade and his mother cry and hug and hug and cry (I have no idea if the crying thing is just a Water Person thing or just Wade's family, but I thought Wade was a total drip until the last act of the film because the running gag was so dang annoying) while Ember keeps a respectable distance because by comparison, yeah, we're just not as physically affectionate.
It's Ember repeatedly declaring she is a "bad daughter" because she thinks she's constantly failed her parents and the thought of disappointing them is a greater stab in the heart than anything in the world. That one hit WAY too damn hard (I'll kindly overlook that her parents never attempted to pressure her in any particularly forceful way, more that they just assumed she would inherit the shop because it's traditionally expected of their culture to do, when I know damn well if it had been my parents, they'd have been a LOT more emotionally anguished about it.)
It's the extra attention paid to Ember's culture that in turn reflects her lifestyle and how she and her family behaves. I also love how well they played with Ember's fiery abilities, showing a multitude of basic everyday necessities like sealing metal pipes in their basement home after a leak, or Ember using her flames to heat a hot air balloon, or molting glass to create artwork from (sadly, this level of attention is only marginally demonstrated by Wade, a little less so for the Cloud folks, and you might as well say "fuck off" to the Earth People.)
Elemental is a C-grade plot: I'm never gonna see this again nor am I aching to get it on home media. I was just awestruck by how well-tuned it captured the first gen Asian experience, and particularly in a way that compromises a respect for their culture and encourage change.
I admit that it hits me more because it does what EEAAO did not: it learned to let their child go. And I guess it offered a bit of catharsis.

Artist: Cascada
Released: 2005
The hit single by Eurodance group Cascada, “Everytime We Touch” was released in the United States on August 16, 2005, reaching number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining on the charts for twenty-five weeks in territories around the world. [Verse 1] I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me I still feel your touch in my dream (In my dream) Forgive me, my weakness, but I don't know why Without you, it's hard to survive [Chorus] 'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly Can't you feel my heart beat fast? I want this to last Need you by my side 'Cause every time we touch, I feel the static And every time we kiss, I reach for the sky Can't you hear my heart beat so? I can't let you go Want you in my life [Instrumental Post-Chorus] [Verse 2] Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky They wipe away tears that I cry (That I cry) The good and the bad times, we've been through them all You make me rise when I fall [Chorus] 'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly Can't you feel my heart beat fast? I want this to last Need you by my side 'Cause every time we touch, I feel the static And every time we kiss, I reach for the sky Can't you hear my heart beat so? I can't let you go Want you in my life [Instrumental Post-Chorus] [Outro] 'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly Can't you feel my heart beat fast? I want this to last Need you by my side

Iris
Written By: John Rzeznik
Artist: The Goo Goo Dolls
Released: 1998
“Iris” was written for the 1998 film City of Angels starring Nicolas Cage. John Rzeznik explained: “When I wrote it, I was thinking about the situation of the Nicolas Cage character in the movie. This guy is completely willing to give up his own immortality, just to be able to feel something very human. And I think, ‘Wow! What an amazing thing it must be like to love someone so much that you give up everything to be with them.’ That’s a pretty heavy thought.” “Iris” eventually became one of the Goo Goo Dolls' biggest and most recognizable hits, eclipsing the movie it was written for.
[Verse 1] And I'd give up forever to touch you 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be And I don't wanna go home right now [Verse 2] And all I can taste is this moment And all I can breathe is your life And sooner or later, it's over I just don't wanna miss you tonight [Chorus] And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am [Instrumental] [Verse 3] And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything feels like the movies Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive [Chorus] And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am [Instrumental Break] [Chorus] And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am [Chorus] And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am [Outro] I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am

i love u and ur blog but sometimes ur way too naive or maybe not naive but u see black and white when sometimes things arent that clear or straightforward (diff anon btw). obv not all BTS are fake, thats not what people r saying. basically between the filming in 2022 and now she seems to be keeping her distance a bit more than before. obv we could all be wrong and the next interview we'll be proven wrong. i am sure its nothing. its just slight diff in her behavior towards timmy from what we've seen so far has changed.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry Anon, but I'm not "naïve".
I just don't read into every single little thing, or question what ppl themselves say out of their OWN MOUTHS....especially when we've only seen ONE official cast interview (one!!) so far on this Dune Part 2 press tour. 🥴
Case in point: Back when the cast met up in Brazil for the con, ppl were trying to say that "smthg is weird/off", or were trying to claim that Z and Florence somehow had "beef" with each other (what??? 🥴).
But now, now that they were just on Kimmel sitting side by side, laughing, and joking/interacting with each other, you all think they're fine, but now ASSUME that Z and Timmy are "off" with each other. Seriously??? 🥴
She was sitting directly in front of him! Excuse her if she's not going to twist and contort her body to give him full eye contact during an interview! 🙄
The problem is, SOME of you all read way too MUCH in the silliest of little details, and it ends up being absolutely NOTHING in the end. 🙄😒
It's also probably another reason why those Tomdaya breakup rumors got so viral that they had paps asking Tom out in the streets of LA whether he and Zendaya had "broken up". 🙄
Look....I'm one of the biggest body language fans and observers out here, and I'm ALWAYS honest with my thoughts, opinions, and "gut feelings" (good OR bad) on my blog. I would have long since said smthg if I felt like smthg was "off" with Z or Timmy... or with anyone in the cast last night.
I think some fans need to stop being so uptight. At the VERY LEAST, compare apples to apples. If we get an interview with Timmy and Z together solo on this press tour and she's "acting weird", THEN I'll say smthg.
But until then, there's nothing I've seen at all that leads me to believe that they aren't friends anymore, or that she's "cooled off" of him.
Also, keep in mind please that Timmy has a girlfriend now (he did NOT during Dune 1 press), so if you notice any change, she might just be respecting the fact that he's in a rlshp rn and def doesn't want ppl spreading false rumors cuz Timdayas are already delusional out here. 🙄😒

I am continuing to run out of John + Elis Radio X episodes at a mildly distressing rate, I'm into August 2018 now and they run until March 2019. Yes there are several hundred BBC episodes after that, but they'll be different, and I've got used to these ones. The Radio X episodes are escapist, from when the world was easier. The BBC episodes are going to run through 2020 and I just can't listen to those initial months where they'll say everyone should wash their hands and make jokes about the Imagine video.
Luckily, the side project of following all John Robins' other things alongside the radio chronology will extend this a bit. Their book came out in October 2018, though I think it was written by August, so I could listen to that audiobook pretty much any time now and call it in line with where I'm at in the radio show. I'll get on that soon.
Also, I've reached the radio episodes in which John Robins is telling us about filming his digital television internet-based quiz show. Specifically, he's telling us about the production company hiring someone to buy him new clothes, because he's not allowed to wear Queen-branded or brewery-branded t-shirts while presenting a show on Dave. I was looking forward to this radio show letting me know what happens to a comedian the year after they win the Perrier Award (I'm aware that it wasn't actually called that when he won it in 2017, but I cannot be bothered to look up what it was called in any given year), and now I know. Apparently it's extending a tour to the point where you develop different medical ailments every week from the stress of traveling and at one point turn up to a radio show an hour late because you forgot you were recording, and they give you a digital television internet-based quiz show for which they buy you new clothes that do not advertise breweries or rock bands. It sounds very glamorous.
I've referred to it as a comedy panel show before, because for some reason I thought it had comedians as guests. I've just looked it up and learned it actually features members of the public, like a regular quiz show. And that sounds quite bad. I didn't have terribly high expectations anyway, but this has lowered them. Sunil Patel's all right, though. I mean, I think he's all right as a comedian. Don't know what he's like on this TV show, haven't watched it yet.
But I've got it downloaded and I think I'll get into it this weekend, as I've reached that point in the chronology. I looked up the Chortle review, and its opening paragraph is exactly what I imagined this show would be, based on the synopsis:
Tumblr media
This next bit of condemnation comes off as significantly harsher, just because it could function fairly accurately as a description of John Robins' broadcasting/comedy style as a whole, and not just being about this one quiz show that I assume John Robins does not hold up as his greatest artistic achievement:
Tumblr media
Sick burn and everything, Steve, and you do have a point that John Robins' habit of going into a vaguely Partridge-inspired voice can sometimes blur the line between parody that works and just actually doing a thing that doesn't work. However, that is some harsh criticism coming from someone who doesn't know how to put a period at the end of a sentence. Maybe learn to use punctuation first, Steve, and then you can talk shit about digital DJs who watched too much Alan Partridge when they were growing up, and possibly base just a touch too much of their persona on ironically imitating that.
Tumblr media
Actually, that sounds all right. I enjoy watching John Robins at once try to embrace and stay at arm's length from things. Maybe it won't be so bad.
I think I will start watching this show this weekend, I'll let you all know if it's terrible. Or, tell you what, I'll let you all know if it's good. I don't need to report on it every time I expect something to be bad, but watch it anyway due to my brain's relentless drive toward completism, and it meets my expectations. If it surprises me, I'll definitely let you all know.

Nope (2022) The Spectacle dot jpg Hands Over The City (1963) yes i watched this just before il siracusano Decision To Leave (2022) yuriyaoi straight romance can't elaborate Puss In Boots (2022) i'm so glad i didn't watch this as a kid i would have nightmares, but as an adult i got to see my traumas on the big screen yippee!!!
missed a local screening of My Broken Mariko because it only happened for ONE DAY fucking insane (I recommend reading the original manga it's so good)
Speaking of books hmm
Swordspoint yuriyaoi... Invisible Ink reread. and I think I need to reread again Fire & Blood read it after watching hotd ep 1 pretty good series btw dare i say even ...the best on-screen yaoiyuri of the year... Eagle Shooting/Condor Heroes Book 1 Not bad Water Margin Didn't I write a angry rant on this. rite of passage i guess...... Uhhhhhhh what else am I missing - oh yeah I did 3 gamejams this year (Art/Design and a liiiiiitle bit of trying to do the UI in Unity myself instead of giving the pngs to my friends)
Tumblr media
my abysmal steam stats told me i only played 5 games this year so I need to get back my gamer license, backlog is like 75% VNs though what's up with that (there's only 4 games but. well)
had a really long blogpost (basically a 'look at all the things you did this year you didnt waste it' thing thus the above lists) but i think i'll just keep it to my notion notes lest this post becomes a traumadumping ground ecks dee tl;dr failed a Very Important (to me) Thing early 2022 that kind of shattered any crumb of self-esteem i had and made me question everything i did onwards (especially in regards to doujin stuff) and then basically physical health issues affecting mental health and vice versa which is fun but fuck it we ball.....(try)
don't really have any solid 'resolutions' (that i would remember to do) other than to 'live' more than just 'survive' as edgy as that sounds 🥴oh wait oc zine yea yea and go into illustration full time h-haha........... should really get around to making a patreon/fanbox but i really hate the idea of paywalling
also signed up for a AK doujin event in Nagoya in March so I now have a very heavy motivation to finish the second half of my LGD doujin and hopefully I get to table at AX too dot dot dot
