Actually Justice League Odyssey is all about Vic and Kory's relationship
ID in ALT text and also under cut
[image: comics from Justice League Odyssey. first we see azrael (jean paul valley) cyborg (victor stone) and starfire (koriandr) in a space ship. vic is standing next to kory and azrael is a bit away from them and says "I am ready, cyborg." vic says "you better be. my mother box is still connected to the ship, but, starfire, I need you to give me an extra power boost." kory presses her head against vic's as energy starts building around her. vic says "I can handle it, kory. do it." Kory says "Forgive me, old friend…" and then says something in tamaranean. then we see vic plugged into a machine (the ship) and kory is blasting him with energy that radiates out through is body and a bunch of wires. he yells.
next panel shows a different scene. kory's normally green eyes have black sclera and vic is carrying her. kory says "Victor… you shouldn't be here with me… my powers… I could hurt you." Vic says "I don't care, kory." next panel shows vic and kory inside a building, with kory resting on a bed in front of a large circular window and moonlight is filterin in on her. vic is sitting on the floor next to her bed. he says "I'm not a doctor… but my dad was. and inside my system is every bit of medical knowledge within the multiverse… I've scanned you and don't see annything." Kory says "What are you doing here? You should be -- ?" Vic says "I can't really do anything until Jess finds those parts… it's okay. and, really, I'd have a hard time focusing on this ship knowing you're in pain."
final panel shows victor stone plugged into some motherbox thing (not a normal one, one someone made in the comic special) and yellow energy surrounding him as it is trying ot take control. azrael (jean paul) is pulling him away. a programmer (blue colu dude) is up on a ledge above the two of them saying "the machine is ours!" Azrael says "think about why you came here…" and vic says "… kory…." as his eyes widen. end image]

JLO behind the scene malarkey is always fascinating. Because The original first issue is pretty much the same as the original issue just with Despero enslaving Coluans before the team saved them & met Darkseid.
Like why was the whole book neutered on just not mentioning DC cosmic heroes? Despero, Mongal, The Manhunters, & Vril Dox were all mentioned at being a thing in the book before the delay before just never being mentioned. Like if you want Darkseid being a central figure that's fine but there's no reason to keep all of the other cosmic heroes off the board.
