Disrupt: artists
Judy Chicago: first artists I found when I looked for artists linked to my project. She's a feminist artist, and this is one of her most known artworks : the Dinner Party. She represented some other feminist in her work, like Georgia O'Keeffe or Susan B. Anthony.
Kiki Smith: for Kiki, everybody has it's own unique experience with their body, and it's reflected in her work.
Georgia O'Keeffe: I mentioned her already, but I really love her work. She paints, and her work often has a representation of life and death (flowers, skeletons...) and vulvas painted in such a way that it can be mistaken for flowers.
Katerina Marchenko: it's a Russian embroidery artist I discovered last week, and I really love what she does. She often embroiders on tulle, so it looks like the thread just floats, and I think that sometimes it really can be mistaken with a painting (with a weird texture but still)

Rien que pour la couverture n°219
Cher(e)s Voyageur(e)s,

There was no Katrina in the movie so the only solution was to explode Max.
That being said, Zenia had a thing for max and it was established. Walter and Katrina comes out of absolute nowhere in the last few chapters. (Though it’s implied, by Floyd, to be a thing between Walter, max, zenia)
But I also love the difference of that in the book the idea of a manned trip out to Big brother is immediately shot down for being stupid and reckless. And Walter being “oh no Max wouldn’t do that because I’d fucking kill him if he tried”

Long Colorful Strands of Yarn Are Woven into Stunning Portraits | My Modern Met
By Margherita Cole on February 1, 2024
This artist‘s process is as fascinating as her incredible results.
Artist Katerina Marchenko continues to elevate embroidery by weaving long, colorful strands of yarn into massive portraits. Each of her pieces is made on delicate tulle, requiring a deft touch from the crafter. Seeing these human faces come to life on such a large scale is well worth the…

Artist research : Katerina Marchenko
Katerina Marchenko : Ethereal Embroidery Creations Float Over Translucent Tulle Fabric (mymodernmet.com)
I discovered this artist when I was looking for inspiration for the embroidery workshop, and love what she does. Katerina embroiders on tulle, which gives it a floating impression.
I have embroidered a lot for this project, and though Marchenko isn't particularly feminist I thought her embroidery would fit in my artist research.

Secondary artist research -Katerina Marchenko
The artist's work is very visual impact, the color collocation is very prominent, and the hand embroidery in the picture is lifelike. Each hand is intertwined and it's very hard to part. This provides inspiration and reference for my creation. I can learn the same way to embroider my hands and my grandmother's, and learn the artist's bolder color scheme
