My favorite niche of music is 90's gothic doom. I love how bands like The Gathering, Theatre of Tragedy, or The 3rd and the Mortal combined gloomy sounding doom metal riffs with beautiful lead vocals.
I think it's so cool that more recent artists like Chelsea Wolfe and Emma Ruth Rundle have inspired a new wave of bands who mix doom and post-metal with ethereal vocals and haunting atmospheres. Bands like Frayle, Iress, and Shedfromthebody remind me a lot of those 90's gothic acts that I love so much.
Alongside Draconian and Lethian Dreams, it overall just feels like a sort of revival or resurgence of that style of music that I loved so much.

Ok so ive been thinking of fem!Aragorn and now it lives in my head rent free, soo..
Her childhood crush had always been luthien, she would always want the elves to read the lay of lethian over and over again, and imagine the beautiul lady that enchanted Morgoth.
Then one night she sees Arwen in the woods singing, she mistakes her as luthien and calls to her “Tinúviel!”
Arwen just laughs and invites Aragorn to sit with her in the night gales, and she sings her the lay of lethian, and she feels like she is in a dream. She falls asleep, and wakes up the next day in Rivendell.
She then tells Elrond that she saw luthien, but he laughs and explains to her that was actually his daughter. She feels really embarrassed and seeks out to apologize to her but when she apologizes, Arwen tells her it was sweet of her to do that.
When Arwen leaves, Aragorn calls her Undómiel and they smile at each other, with a longing gaze. That was when Aragorn realized she was in love

I think several of these may qualify as obscure so I'm going to put an example song for all of them
- Shape of Despair (example song: Written in My Scars)
- Red Moon Architect (example song: Tormented)
- Shroud of Bereavement (example song: A Rose for a Dying Muse)
- Calliophis (example song: Liquid Darkness)
- Lethian Dreams (example song: Your Silence)
- Subrosa (example song: Wound of the Warden)
- Besvärjelsen (example song: All Things Break)
- Frayle (example song: Treacle & Revenge)
- Morgion (example song: Nightfall Infernal)
- Mourning Beloveth (example song: The Mountains Are Mine)
I like how we barely even talked about mainstream/well-known bands, we all collectively decided to just jump into obscurity.

Ok so what's the rule for this
Sometimes a band has a name that is "The [plural noun]"
And SOMETIMES you refer to a given member of the band as "a [plural noun]" and sometimes you DON'T
In like, the 60s or so, you pretty much always did
Eg, a Beatle, a Rolling Stone
And there are obviously cases where you don't, no member of the band gets call A Sin of Thy Beloved
But like
Is a member of The Killers "a killer"
Is a member of The White Stripes "a white stripe"
Is a member of The Dead Kennedys "a dead Kennedy"
Is a member of The Crüxshadows "a crüxshadow"?
How important is the "The"? Do you have musicians who are a Lethian Dream or a Tree of Eternity or an Ocean of Slumber? A Sister of Mercy? A Wolf In The Throne Room? A Chvrch? A Wood of Ypres?
I feel like the answers are clear in most cases but I can't figure out how I know
