Okay, already posted on Twitter in a long ass thread but lemme talk about Yosuke's confession again, the "i never knew i had such a heat inside" or this depending of the traslation

It's SO important cuz It really empathizes their relathionship pretty fucking well. Yosuke loved Saki bc she was the first person that saw him as something outside of the Junes kid who's parents are gonna ruin the shopping distritc (even if the way she feels about him was more complicated than that), she accepted who she was, talked to him, was nice to him

we know Yosuke is a person who gets interested in people easily considering his flirty behaviour, but i am pretty sure his feelings for Saki were genuine and that there's a pattern, Yosuke is a lonely kid that is used to be treated like trash most of the time, seeing someone saying this stuff to him, makes him embarrased and...happy, and it makes believe that he's into people who are genuinely caring and kind to others, including a random loser like him. if Yosuke loved Saki for that empathic and kind nature, who's the person that fits perfectly those two terms? Is basically the whole point of their character considering that he's a protagonists and how it mix with the message of the game? That's right, Yu.

There are some parallels with Saki and Yu, in lots of ways, Saki and Yu both has this kind behaviour, can be teaseful around Yosuke and they both are big siblings that really love their little siblings more than anything, but despite their cool easygoing and kind behaviour, they are implied to be really deppresed individuals, for Yu/Souji more specificed in the manga about his parents("i wish all could dissapear" is a very suicidal thought, that Saki's shadow herself mentioned, like if she has thought about killing herself before)

Saki made Yosuke feel slighty better with himself, how he shouldn't worry about what the others are saying around the town, because he knows that isn't true

Yu made him realize how nothing would change for him if he doesn't do something about himself, how he isn't alone and has everyone else and i would say he did more than Saki did.

Yosuke wasn't ready for a relathionship yes, but he slowly realized how much Yu mattered to him, how much he is "special" to him, Yosuke finds himself comfortable in Yu's presence, smth he didn't felt until Saki came in, so i think that's what "i never knew i had such a heat inside" means

he's a perceptive person that knew that his relathionship with Saki wasn't mutual ("i knew all they said was right, i was just too embarassed to admit it...") and afterwards he saw how much he had going on in her head "i wish everything could just dissapear", Yu actually reasurred him, his kidness was more in a "i do like you as a person" instead of "i am kind to you bc i would be a ass if i weren't", Yosuke probably fell even harder than he fell for Saki, he finally found a genuine connection, the most genuine one he could ever have, that changed his life for better.

And i think It really fits his character, he is really someone who desires a genuine connection due to loneliness, people who genuinely liked him, instead of treating him as someone they need from time to time, thanks to Yu he's closer to the team.

And no, some people may believe Yu was like a """remplacement""" of Saki but i do believe this is just a natural course, you cannot control who you get feelings for, and slowly, you get to know them and fall for them, i do know people who broke up/lost their ex before and some weeks later, they fell for someone else, and there's nothing wrong about it, time passes, feelings changes, some people faster or slower than others but it's natural, and Yosuke should allow himself to love someone else when the other already passed away

So yeah, i do believe he got to experience, even an stronger feeling than before and it makes sense, (Yosuke also realized how life slowly changes in his SL, fitting EVEN MORE with his character arc)

Saki is special, Yu is special, and that wouldn't change in any way, not even how he sees himself, bc thanks to this experiencie, he could finally say he's special in his own way.

I think SW and the Clone Wars tackle some of the issues created by the fact that slavery exists and it´s non officially tolerated in the world of Star Wars and the fact Anakin, one of the main characters in the story is a former slave, makes this extremely relevant to the story.

So it´s funny how this always reverts back to "but it´s all Anakin´s fault" lol if that was Lucas intention, he would not have gone out of his way to talk about Vader being a victim of a system in the prequel trilogy despite his actions and his obvious villanous role in the original trilogy and the clone wars would not have shown Anakin´s clear disagreetment over having to rescue Jabba´s Son, being seen as the "greater good" by Yoda and the Jedi Order, while his mother was seen as an unwanted attachment he had to get rid of for fear of falling to the darkside and didn´t even bother to free her from slavery having the resources and opportunity.

There´s a story there but for many fans a critical approach towards the Jedi Order is the same as being ok with them being killed off in masse, when that isn´t the issue at all, the issue is that the Jedi, while having good intentions, isolated themselves from the wide galaxy and allowed many injustices without even a word of protest and allowed many unfair things for the sake of being in good terms with the Senate,like the whole clone army being literal slaves of the republic purchased by the Jedi Order or the private visits allowed to Palpatine with Anakin just because he was the chancellor of the republic.

So when it was them being left vulnerable at their biggest time of need, when it was their time of needing help, because the republican system they uncritically supported for centuries allowed a member of their ancestral enemies, with a big bone to pick with them, in a possition of power, with the influence to destroy their entire organization in a day, decided to do precisely that, with not even a whimper from the wide galaxy and applause from the republican senate but somehow the main guilty party here is the former slave used as a weapon during the war and manipulated to the point of insanity by said leader of the republic. There´s something big lost in traslation here.

Hi, sweetheart. I don’t follow her, so I haven’t seen it. But I would imagine she’s using the term in a hyperbollic way. It’s still a bit of an odd thing to say. I would never say my kids are my best friends, even as babies. It sounds to me like she’s just being a typical influencer and showing how everything is amazing and perfect in her life.

The Golden Enclaves (The Scholomance Book 3) - Spoilers

I've just finished The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik and I need to write my thoughs because I have some opinions XD These are just my thoughs as 20+yo freshly after finishing the series in one go (+listening/reading some opinions on-line). Also english is not my first language so I hope my message won't be lost in traslation.

El is unreliable narrator but she's a great character imo. Yes, she's ulikable, stubborn, 17yo brooding edgelord full of trauma BUT (for me at least) she's an believable on top of all of that. What I mean by that is I can believe that this is what a 17yo girl would sound/think/akt like. That doesn't mean her actions are always right but who doesn't make mistakes (especially when they're a teenager) ? But despite all the trauma she's endured during her stay at the Scholomance as well as before that and loads of self-loathing she's always been a good kid at heart to whom the world/fate has been really unfair. I love her journey throughout the series I truly do even though this journey is just beggining, but that's what's amazing about this character because now evry reader can have their own headcannons about her future. And that's what makes El Higgins one of my favourite characters of all time and makes me love this character!

Orion on the other hand had been made dirty imo. I'm sorry I really wanted to like him but he literally has ZERO personality he's just a depressed mawmouth shaped like a boy who wants to hunt mals and be next to El... It's sad because his whole story is genuinely tragic yet I felt next to nothing while reading it (only after finishing the golden enclaves I've started to think about everything he'd been through...). Also kinda unrelated but WHAT is Orion now? Like is he human enough to idk... get old? Or will he remain a 17yo till the end of Scholomance? On that note if he'll get old like a normal human being then what will happed to Scholomance once he passes away? (I don't expect to ever recive an answer to any of those questions but I am curious about it).

So... what do I think about Orion x El relationship? Well I think it was good for them while they're in Scholomance and (of course) it was crutial for the plot progression. But do I think this has a future? Absolutely not. For the first two book I was authentically rooting for them. They were good for each other and helped each other grow and mature, but reading The Golden Enclaves I couldn't help but play this tiktok sound (the one that goes: "He is not 'the love of your life'! He's literally just a guy. Just hit him with your car!") in my head for most of the Orion-related parts. And while what happened between Orion and El was genuine and beautiful and was working pretty well for the time being but they're teenagers in their first realtionship (that was formed in confined space where death was waiting for them litterally behind every corner and for what they knew they could die in the next 5 minutes, and lets not forget the social structure of small comunity of Scholomance - and while you can find some analogies beteween that to the outer world, they're not the same) and I don't think it'll survive past the point of when their frontal lobe will be fully developed... But I do think they'll remind good friends after that. That's just my opinion!

And that's I'm SO glad that the Liesel x El subplot happened! Some people say it came out of nowhere just to get representation points but I disagree with that sentiment... Don't det me wrong - I didn't saw it comming until the scene in London enclave, but when it happened it cliked for me and everything from The Last Graduate till the end of The Golden Enclaves started making sense... (?) My interpretation of the situation is that El DID notice Liesel in Scholomance and WAS atracted to her (considering that El's our narrator and we only see her version of reality, everything we learn about the world is El's understanging and observations of it - we only know things she considered important enough to describe to the reader AND she considered Liesel to be worthy of describing her multiple times to this degree that we KNOW that during New Year's cleaning El was looking at Liesel's boobs and wasn't complaining about it (she was complaining that Orion wasn't doing the same thing) maybe a the time she wasn't considering herself being attracted to the same sex - it might be because she wasn't quite experienced with social interactions and it was all new to her.. I mean newer than to 'normal' 17yo who's just begining their dating life). The biggest tell for me that El was attracted to Liesel was her reaction when she figured out what Liesel was proposing to her in London. What I also like in golden enclaves is the character development of Liesel herself. Watchin how this prideful, cunning, inteligent and fierce girl starts to care (even deeply) for El and how this relationship catalyzes her own process of healing from all the trauma.

And don't let me get started on thie whole "cheating" discourse... The first time El and Leisel get intimate is when we are sure Orion has been eaten by maw-mouth and the only reason for El to go back to Scholomance is to kill said maw-mouth so Orion along others victims to can die peacefully instead of suffering in eternity. So she's grieving and everyone grieves differently and it's not our place to judge that. The second time on the plane is slightly more complicated but also I wouldn't say it was cheating (I wouldn't even say that El and Orion were dating again at that time... it was more of will-they-wont-they-situationship where Orion specifically asked El to kill him if his mother won't heal him - and we all knew she wouldn't), it was a shitty move tho... Let's remember we're talking about deeply traumatized and mentally fucked-up kids (ok... young adults). I don't condone what El did in that moment but I also try to remember the context of these decisions and I refuse to judge her by my standards (+ I highly doubt that after all of this El never mention to Orion what happened between her and Liesel, just because she didn't do it right away after the events from the book doesn't mean they wouldn't have talked about this - it's just that hiding this information from Orion doesn't sit right with my interpretation of El's character).

El's just a teenage girl who's going through her first love but it doesn't mean she's gonig to close herself from the world just for this boy she met in school (in contrast to her own mother who's the archetype of mourning widow). I just really want to hope that in the case things wouldn't work out between her and Orion it wouldn't be the end of the world for her.

I'd like to believe that what these kids started was a revolution at the core of the rotten magic society and the whole system build on death and suffering, and that the change will come (after some probably long and painful process but IT WILL COME - that's my headcannon and I don't accept any other outcome for my own mental wellbeing XD). But also alongside of the changing/rebuilding world these kids need to heal/grow/change themseves. They've been through some serious shit and need to redefine who they are and find their own place in the new reality. I'd love to read about older versions of our heroes (because I'm 100% sure they won't be the same kids we left at the end of the last book) but I also don't think we'll ever come back to this world to see what happened next with our beloved misfits but I really hope the future will bring more fanfictions, headcannons and other fan-media that will keep this world alive and will allow us to dive in this world once more!

All to all I loved the series! It's not ideal (in many aspects) but overall I've really enjoyed it & sincerely recommend reading it and to shape your own opinion on the matter! Please keep in mind that it's only my interpretation of the series which is based on translation of the books and my personal life experiences and if you disagree with me you are more than welcome to express it (I'd love to see other perspectives) but please don't send hate! hi sorry for bothering you but if you already talked about this i couldn't find it and papago isn't helping me so i thought about asking you. In beyond evil ep15 ~9:30 during the rain scene dongsik says "지 애비라고" if i understood correctly and it's traslated as "it's because it's him" or "you're covering for your dad" but i don't get why he would say so. up till now they show how juwon doesn't trust kihwan and is so different from him, dongsik says so to jihwa too so why would he say that? hearing the confession was a lot to take but he already kinda expected this outcome and knew juwon wouldn't stand by his father's side..if i understood this correctly ofc! also thank you for your explanations they helped me better understand the drama 💓

i think honestly, dong sik was in an emotionally volatile place--as he should be. and i think that just, like, the fact that joo won is the one who also stops dong sik from going after him right there, dong sik's impulse is to shove back and be like, see, you are your father's son, mostly because a) we know that dong sik's got a sharp tongue when he wants to have one, and b) well. imagine yourself as dong sik--you've lost everyone your entire family, and the guy who was accusing you of murder just a few weeks ago is suddenly keeping you back from going after the person who is the reason for why your life is fucked over. of course, if you're dong sik, you're going to say the harshest possible thing in your brain.

13 year old batty started writing fanfiction and the story of her oc's/self inserts! (+roleplay) i'm afraid i lost those writings a long ago but they were fire 😭 (they really weren't but they're fond to my heart, so they were cool /lh) there was a huge lap of time where i didn't write at all which i believe was 2016-2017 i think? i wasn't a full time writer either but whenever i wanted to write something, i would :)

this was hard too, i don't think i have a "favourite"? some of my works are good and some average but i remember this particular piece of an oc x canon i wrote in 2021 that whenever i read it it's still good! it shows the complexity of the characters' emotions and how much they care for one another but won't actually say it, they comunicate non-verbaly and that's the part where i did most justice, by being able to express emotions without explicitly say it. i would like to show it to you but it's not in english (it's not even posted actually) 😔

per celebrare il rinnovo di Our flag means death ho pensato di postare questa sigla immaginaria per la serie. Quello di scrivere sigle di questo tipo è un mio hobby di cui fondamentalmente non posso fare a meno. se una serie mi piace mi viene in mente una sigla e quindi la scrivo. Da qualche parte in questo blog si può trovare anche la sigla di Voltron in questo stile. A breve cercherò di fare il reblog di questo post con il testo completo, spero anche di fare una versione registrata un po’ meglio (purtroppo non ho il tempo di produrre l’intera canzone come si deve), ma l’entusiasmo per il rinnovo mi ha spinto a condividerla con voi il prima possibile. It should be pretty funny, if you’re intrested to learn what the song says, stay tuned, cause I plan to reblog this post with the English traslation of the lyrics. At least you can get an Idea.

I was too happy about season two and wanted to share this with you. I’m going to try and make you understand the general tone of the song with a quote:
