ok so i love aftg and linked universe, and there are 9 mc’s for each, so here is which aftg character is which link from LoZ :)
Dan: definitely Time, both are leaders of their particular teams, respected, can be fun and playful but also serious when need be
Kevin: Warriors, incredibly strong and have been through a lot but that tends to be ignored in favor of their worse traits (trying to take the lead, snarky, self focused occasionally)
Andrew: Legend, both have been through so much shit that have left them snarky and rude, but they still care about those they see as family and will do anything for them
Matt: Wind, big smiles and big personalities. loved, but their personalities tend to make people forget that they’ve been through things too
Aaron: Four, actually this is the reason I decided to do this at all, they’re both more secluded in their teams, not much is known about either, also vibes tbh
Allison: Twilight, willing to talk to pretty much everyone on their teams (tho allison is admittedly more antagonistic) and normally seen with their leaders
Nicky: Hyrule, their homes are dangerous for them, but they refused to fully give up hope, both have a desire to go and explore (whether just meet new people or literally) but tend to get held back by people who care about them
Renee: Sky! group sweethearts! but don’t underestimate them, they’re where they are now because they’re strong, definitely not push overs
Neil: Wild, interesting pasts that led to permanent scarring, loved by their teams, known to do impulsive, mildly stupid things
done! allison was the hardest so i left her to the process of elimination, and im not sure if i’m happy with her’s but oh well
this was stupid, idk if it made sense, but i hoped you enjoyed it anyway :)

If Ashley's children traveled back in time and met their future parents, what would their reaction be? Why do I feel like Ashley would be quite "sassy" with Gabriel about this revelation?
So much confusion initially- Gabriel’s doing the math and nothing is adding up
“But- I can’t even- how???”
“Demon.”
“Yeah thanks for that by the way mom—“
“….ohhhhhhhhh.”
After- explaining the entire situation, Gabriel would be excitedly asking his kids questions while- also struggling to be a dad as well. Ashley’s vibing- was pretty shocked she ended up having kids, but it’s some reassurance to her that Gabe stuck around long enough for them to even happen. She’d probably ask Lilith if she’s a good mom, or at least a better one than hers.
After the kids head back to their time (I’m thinking the good ol’ reliable demon magic is how), there’s just this quiet awkwardness and then—
“….soooo….three kids?”
“Are we really that surprised?”
“Not really….totally unrelated note, but would it be cool if I summoned the demon super quick?”

‘The Joy Luck Club,’ Groundbreaking Asian American Film, Is Getting a Sequel
Tumblr media
Everett Collection
By Patrick Frater Oct 12, 2022 8:30am PT
Novelist Amy Tan and Oscar-winning “Rain Man” screenwriter Ron Bass are on board to deliver a sequel to “The Joy Luck Club,” the 1993 movie that broke new ground for Asian American representation.
The new film, “Joy Luck Club 2,” is set up at Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group, with Ashok and Priya Amritraj producing alongside Tan, Bass and Jeff Kleeman. A director hasn’t been announced yet.
The original “Joy Luck Club,” directed by Wayne Wang, was an epic, multigenerational saga of Chinese and Chinese-American mothers and daughters, whose histories, stories and lives interweave as they navigate life. Club members included characters played by Tsai Chin, France Nuyen, Lisa Lu and Kieu Chinh. The ensemble cast also included Tamlyn Tomita, Rosalind Chao and Russell Wong.
In “Joy Luck Club 2,” the mothers become grandmothers and the daughters become mothers in their own right, introducing a new generation exploring their own relationships with culture, heritage, love, womanhood and identity.
The original leading cast is in talks to return to their roles, as mothers and grandmothers of their families. The film will also offer significant casting opportunities for a new generation of Asian female-identifying actors, from the granddaughters to supporting roles.
The original film debuted in limited commercial release in September 1993 and also played at the Toronto International Film Festival. It grossed some $28 million in North America and was nominated for a BAFTA Award for best adapted screenplay.
Its significance, however, isn’t just limited to its breakout box office performance, or its critical acclaim, but also the way that it paved the way for Asian and female representation in other films and TV series. Just a year after its release, ABC launched Margaret Cho’s “All-American Girl,” which featured the first Asian American family to lead a primetime sitcom. In recent years, more strides have been made with the box office success of films like “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”
“Now more than ever it is important to share authentic stories about the Asian American experience, and we believe this film will speak to wide audiences with its narrative rooted in humanity and connection,” said Ashok Amritraj.
Tan and Bass added: “We are excited to be teaming with Hyde Park and Jeff Kleeman in bringing to life the next generation of these four families so close to our hearts.”

“MAKEOVER” — Allison Reynolds x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAIRING: Allison Reynolds x Goth!Reader
GENRE: Platonic
SUMMARY: After getting a bright idea, reader, who is a goth, decides to give Allison a makeover in their style.
WORD COUNT: 0.6k
A/N: Yippee!!!! I love the breakfast club sm, Allison is such a cutie. Requested by anon and proofread by @lu-vin-it !! P.S., I don’t wear a bunch of makeup, so I hope I explained the makeup scene well enough to understand :)
Tumblr media
SHERMER HIGH SCHOOL, CHICAGO Illinois. been sitting in detention for about four hours and have made some unlikely friends. Andrew Clark: the “athlete.” Claire Standish: the “princess.” Brian Johnson: the “brain.” John Bender: the “criminal.” Last but most certainly not least, Allison Reynolds: the “basket case.”
Out of all of them, Allison was the person you got along with the best. You were labeled as “The Goth” in school. You always wore thick eyeliner, black lipstick, and dark clothes. The kids in school described you as a real life vampire. Most of the time, you just scoffed and rolled your eyes.
You were in detention for skipping class. It’s not like you skipped the whole period. Just most of it. You had to fix your makeup because you were in a rush that morning.
Unfortunately, out of all the people that could have caught you, it was Mr. Vernon. You two already didn’t like each other, and this made matters worse.
That’s the recap, though. Now you’re doing your time and talking to people who you wouldn’t be caught dead with otherwise.
After your dance break, John had to go back to Mr. Vernon’s closet and there was small talk between you and the four other teenagers. Then you got the brightest idea.
“Allison.” You announce her name. She looks over at you with curiosity. “C’mere.” The girl walks over to you and you present your idea in her ear. She smiles toothily and nods her head. You smile back and lead her to a supply closet, bringing your bag with you.
Once in the closet, you pull out your palest concealer, liquid eyeliner, black eyeshadow, and tube of black lipstick. She sits on a table and fidgets with her fingers excitedly.
You dot concealer underneath her eyes, patting it into Allison’s skin with your finger. She flinches a couple times, then gets used to the sensation.
Once done with the base, you move onto eyeshadow. You brush the black pigment onto her eyelids and bring it down to the bridge of her nose, contouring the skin with the eyeshadow.
You contour the rest of her face— her cheekbones, forehead, and her chin. By now, she’s looking almost identical to you. You smile, prideful of her transformation.
“Now it’s the hard part,” you say slightly, unscrewing your eyeliner lid. “You’ll be fine, just hold very still.” She complies.
You line under her eyes and then wing it up to the corner. You connect the eyeliner to her top lid and fill it in, doing the same with the other eye.
You then pull away from her face, smiling. Allison looks amazing as a goth. You silently hoped she would like the look as much as you do. You dug in your bag for your compact mirror and handed it to her. She opened it up, and when she saw her reflection, she smiled wider than ever and squeaked again.
“Do you like it??” You ask excitedly. She nods. The two of you talk some more and then you bring her out to the library for the others to see her.
Brian smiles at her awkwardly, and you swear you can see a dust of pink cloud across his face. Claire gasps and says she looks really good as a goth. Finally, Andres is left speechless. Allison looks at the floor in embarrassment.
“See something you like, Andrew?” You ask loudly, teasing him. He looks at Allison, and then you, and then Allison again. He then nods slightly, making you giggle.
“Go get your honey.” You whisper in Allison’s ear. She playfully swats your shoulder.

Pride and Prejudice
Classic and loose adaptions from 1940, 1967, 1980, 1995, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2019
The second of Jane Austen’s novels, first published in 1813, is the most often adapted, inspiring various different takes on it. The ones pictures above are detailed below:
Pride and Prejudice (1940 Film)

Lizzie’s videos amount to 100 episodes + 10 Q&A, but shorter series enrich the story by offering other characters’ perspectives, most notably Lydia’s (and also Georgiana’s). A playlist at Pemberley Digital’s Youtube channel features them all in order.
The series has also been adapted into a book, The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet (2014), and spawned a sequel novel, The Epic Adventures of Lydia Bennet (2015).

Features 100 episodes in the International cut. The telenovela has been broadcast in other countries and languages (such as Spanish) but as far as I know, not in English.
Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta (2019 TV Film)
Loose adaption set in modern Atlanta, USA. All-black cast. Written by Tracy McMillan, directed by Rhonda Baraka
Starring Tiffany Hines as Elizabeth Bennet, Juan Antonio as Will Darcy, Raney Branch as Jane Bennet, Brad James as Charles Bingley, Reginae Carter as Lydia Bennet, Carl Anthony Payne as Rev. Collins, among others.
*****
Personal favorites: 2005, then 1995. But also: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, Orgulho e Paixão
I also enjoyed Atlanta and, while it’s been a while since I’ve seen Bride and Prejudice, it’s got Indian musical numbers so c’mon, one gotta watch it.
Back to the closer adaptions, despite its age, 1980 is also good! 1940 is...very different, but fun in its own way.
In fact, while I find some of these versions weaker, I could find enjoyment in all of them - but maybe that’s cause I’m a sucker for P&P.
