Warnings?: reader is Latino/Latina, reader is a spider person, can you tell I wrote this at like 2 AM? (Spoilers for atsv). Is it obvious I don’t read the comics based off of hobie and pav? Also all the spiders are able to understand Spanish so 👍🏾 reader is hinted to be bisexual in Peter B’s (they also cannot have children), reader isn’t gendered but in Jessica’s they certainly are not a male,

Gwen is quiet, but you allow it. Miguel didn’t tell you much of what happened in Gwen’s dimension, but it clearly bothered her, whatever it was. It was just one of those very nights where she was bothered about her situation. She didn’t ever talk about it, rather she just sat in silence for awhile and then you’d make her some tea in hopes of easing any nerves or pain. She felt bad crashing at your place all the time like this, so much so she tried bothering hobie every once in awhile so that her staying at your home wasn’t as constant. You tried to remind her that this is what partners do, they look out for eachother when they need it the most. Staying at eachothers places when one of them is pretty much homeless is included in that.

Honestly though? Selfishly she enjoyed it. Maybe it was because she simply enjoyed your company, or because you were sweet enough to let her share a bed with you and she got to watch you sleep. She got to see all your features up close in your most peaceful moments. But of course, she missed her home. She missed her dad. She missed when things didn’t suck. She missed Peter too.

You’re both on the roof of your house. She’s thinking about things, deeply. She thinks about her life, her place in the world, She almost starts to cry, but she’s still holding back, holding back as much as she possibly can right now. It’s the first time you see her like this, and you feel relieved. You’re relieved because you know she’s been going through so much, but has been trying so hard to keep it inside.

“Mi amor, por favor, no reprimas tus sentimientos. Está bien llorar, somos tú y yo.” you say, putting your hand on her shoulder to comfort her. Not wanting to be too intimate in case she became uncomfortable in such a state. But you don’t have to worry as she grabs the hand on her shoulder and intertwines your fingers.

She finally allows her tears to flow. More then flow, they stream down like a ocean of tears. In the midst of it, she hugs you and you hug her back. Pulling her into your chest and she can’t help but feel safe in your arms.

“I’m so sorry.” she says in between sobs

“Don’t be. Te Amo. I will always be here for you, yknow? No need to hold back for me.”

Miles puts his head on your shoulder. He’s quiet, and unsure what he should say next. But you don’t say anything, and you decide he should be the one to speak first. He wraps his arms around your middle, and you change positions so his cheek is smushed on your chest now, your arms wrap around his waist. You could fall asleep like this, but you’re determined to stay up until miles tells you what’s on his mind. Even if you already know, he should let it out and talk about it. He always ends up telling you what’s bothering him, he’s practically an open book. At least in your mind, though you do suppose he is good at keeping secrets from others. Not the point though, you were there when it all transpired. You know what he’s upset about.

“How are we gonna get home?” miles finally asks, confirming your suspicions. He truly had no idea what he was doing, and what either of you were going to do. You’re both stuck in the wrong dimension with no way to get home. “How am I gonna save my dad?” he wonders aloud. You’re not sure yourself, you opt for one of your hands reaching for his back and rubbing his back in a circular motion as a means to comfort him.

“I don’t know.” you admit, but you continue before he could say anything, “but what I do know, is that you can do anything. Even the impossible. Eres el hombre más increíble que conozco. You’ll figure it out.”

miles shakily sighs, “I don’t know.” he says, so unsure of himself. “You don’t have to.” you say, “give yourself a moment. Recollect yourself. Cry if you need. Te protegeré.”

He truly doesn’t know how to thank you for everything you’ve done for him, continue to do for him. The support and love you’ve always given him, the advice you’ve given him, he knows there’s truly nobody quite like you.

There’s a moment of silence between you and hobie. While this wasn’t exactly an uncommon occurrence when the two of you just chilling out, this time felt very different. Instead of a rather calm and tired expression at this time of night he seemed so defeated, though that tiredness seemed more like exhaustion. And you come to the conclusion a canon event had to have happened for him to wear such a sad expression. It was only recently he had taken upon the role as spiderman in his dimension, or as everyone called him, spiderpunk. You know the whole spider thing is new to him, how stressful it can be to be on your own like this. You’ve been there too, and not that long ago. In your dimension you’ve only been a spider person for a couple months.

You stand up from your place on the couch, walking up to him. You want to feign surprise, not knowing what’s happening. But you know. And you know that he knows, as he always does. Spider people typically aren’t good at lying. “You know, dontcha.” he simple says, voice rather quiet for somebody like him. “Yeah.” you eventually say, “it happens to all of us.” you admit. “For Miguel it was his wife, his daughter. For Peter it was his uncle. For me it was my mother. This is just.. part of the course.” you say, as if it’s just something to shrug off. Hobie can’t help but feel sick to his stomach upon you doing that, cause it doesn’t feel like the you he knows. The you he knows wouldn’t stand for some… cycle, some faux destiny. It’s not like you to just give up and treat something like this as just… it.

But he’s too upset to press you about it, so he rests his forehead on your shoulder and no longer says any words. You wrap your arms around him in an embrace and he allows it. “I know you probably have a lot of questions.” you say, and he’s always taken aback at how you’re the only person he’s ever met that can read him like a book. Then again, spider people are not good liars.

“For now, what I’ll tell you is this.” you start, “you’re going to lose people. It’s going to happen if you continue this line of work. The hard lesson to learn about this job is that we can’t save everyone. At least, not alone.” you continue, “but together, we can.” you say, and upon these words he feels a bit more relieved that you hadn’t fallen down some algorithm. You haven’t given up nor are you falling in line with some dumbass rules Miguel has set up.

“I can’t exactly provide you the best advice.” you admit, “pero siempre estaré aquí apoyándote. Puedes contar con ello.” you say, and hobie smiles for the first time that day.

Pavitr has never been like this, but it’s to be expected. At least, in your mind.

He clutches you like a lifeline, and if it weren’t for your super amazing spider strength you think you’d be in a ton of pain right now with the way pav is holding onto you.

You’re not even the one that nearly died. Pav nearly lost his best friend, gayatri as well as her father who also seemed to mean a lot to him. You don’t know much about him and singhs relationship, but you know it’s rather complex. Pretty hard on Pav and his friendship with his daughter, assuming they have a romantic relationship or something along the line. But this very man seems to adore Spider-Man. So naturally, complicated. But didn’t change the fact he meant a lot to Pavitr. He almost lost him. He almost lost two important people in his life. And if he almost lost them, could he have lost you?

He tries to reason with himself, you’re strong and can handle yourself fine but what if…?

“¡Basta!” you say, and it’s the first time he’s ever heard you yell at him. Because of this it’s quick to snap him out of the daze he seemed to be in. He can’t help but let a few tears slip out. You put your hands on his cheeks, worry seeping through your eyes. “Odio cuando haces eso. No me va a pasar nada, cariño. Puedo protegerme así que no te atrevas a preocuparte por mí.”

You wipe away his tears with your thumbs. “Mi amor, we’re gonna be okay.”

Peter sighs, and from that moment you know somethings wrong. You’ve known this Peter in particular a long time, there’s something obviously weighing on him. It certainly helps you’ve gotten to know so many versions of him, so many peters and so many of them are horrible liars. He is no exception.

You can’t help but wonder if it’s MJ related, which tugs are your heartstrings a bit. But you understand him, he lost his love. His first love in fact, and he’s not willing to let her go. You understand. You remember your first love, Gwen. Just a pretty blonde in your science class, but you fell hard. And so did she. To her death, that is.

You sit next to him on the balcony, “wanna talk about it?” you offer, and he can’t help the sigh that escapes him. “I don’t know.” he admits, but as soon as he says that he feels himself leaning on you.

“Have you ever thought of becoming a parent?” he asks, and you can’t help but be surprised by his question.

Now it’s your turn to sigh. “Yeah, I suppose.” you shrug, “not that I’d be able to have one, but yeah.”

“Really?” he wonders, and you nod. “Both me and Gwen, at least in my dimension, were physically unable to have kids. The same went for me and my own Peter.” you shrug, “not that I was interested at the time though. It’s moreso a ‘what if I could’ situation.”

“I want a kid.” he admits.

“So did MJ, and she still wants a kid.”

You feel your heart sink for a moment, before deciding it was his time of need, not yours. You’re both far too old for shit like this. You’ll move on. Like you always do.

“I could give her what she wants.” he continues.

“But I don’t know if… I can? I guess?”

“What do you mean?” You inquire.

“It’s a lot of things. I mean, what if I’m a bad dad? What if I’m not there enough? And besides that point, even if I do go through with this, the kid would have to deal with having parents that aren’t even together.”

It takes a minute for you to process his words, especially the last part. “Wait… why wouldn’t you two be together?” he shrugs, “because she deserves better.” he says, but it doesn’t seem like the full truth. “And besides I wanna be with somebody else.”

He tries to be subtle with his next words, “they can’t have kids, so I think this is a next best option. At least, when I’m ready and they’re ready and we’ve been dating long enough where it wouldn’t be weird to ask.”

You can’t help but wonder if it’s you he’s talking about.

But for the time being, you ignore it and put an arm around his shoulder, “Pues deja de preocuparte. Serías un gran padre.”

he cracks a smile and thanks you.

Jessica is always well put together, it’s something you’ve always known about her. But there’s something off about her.

You think you know what’s up, but you know better than to think you know everything going on with Jess. She’s not exactly an open book, only is when she wants to be.

She kept a lot of her personal life away from you, as a means to protect you from that. Either that or she wanted her privacy, which you also understood.

It wasn’t uncommon for her to touch her stomach, admire it, the excitement of a new life was adorable in your eyes. But her relationship with her husband was something she never relayed to you, she never talked about him and if she ever did it was briefly. A part of you wondered if it was because she knew how you felt and wanted to spare you. A part of you hoped that was all it was, and that there was nothing else going on.

But you’d be wrong, as you often were.

She lets a few tears shed, and it’s the first time you’ve seen her cry.

“I don’t think I love him anymore.” she finally admits, and you have a feeling it’s the first time she’s admitted this to anyone, even herself.

“I don’t think I ever did.”

“I don’t even think I like men, period.”

And this puts you into a even bigger state of shock, woah.

“I think I just wanted a baby.” she continues, “and it didn’t matter who it was with as long as I got one.”

“I thought, it was because I loved him so much I wanted to start a family but…” she turns her head away from you, “I don’t think I ever felt a damn thing for him and I’m scared and I feel so guilty.”

All you can do is wrap a comforting arm around her,

“No pasa nada. Siempre estaré aquí Jessica, lo sabes. Podemos resolver las cosas juntos.”

she leans into you despite her mind telling her to pull away, don’t be soft, don’t give in.

But she does.

She gives in to her deepest desire.

She gives into you.

Miguel is never this clingy. Something is wrong, and you feel it. It’s not just his aura, it’s his body language. It’s the fact that his face is shoved into your stomach, desperate for you to not only not hear him at all, but not see him. You feel his sorrow, his shame, his guilt, his anguish. But most of all you feel his regret and his grief and you automatically know what’s wrong.

You run your fingers through his hair, something he normally hated but in times like these truly loved more than anything and it calmed him down so quickly. He still doesn’t know how you do it, honestly. You make him putty in his hands without even trying and honestly that terrified him. To be so weak, so soft, when it comes to you.

“Vamos, cariño.” you say, “let me see you.”

He’s not quick to comply, but he eventually does with enough head scratching. You sigh at how distraught he looks. You hate this, you really do. You hate seeing him upset, that one injury of yours could send him spiraling like this.

“No voy a morir tan fácilmente, sabes. Ten un poco de fe en mí, ¿quieres?”

“Lo sé.” he replies, shakily.

“I’m just scared of losing you too.”

You kiss the crown of his head, “I know. But trust me when I say a little injury is not going to kill me. I’ll be okay.” you try to reassure him.

He nods, but you have a feeling he doesn’t believe you.

Even after all these years, you don’t know how to help him.

SS2K22 (Part 2) - Cosquillas Navidad

~A/N  - HALLO IT'S ME AGAIN! I get the absolute pleasure to be @sweettallahassee 's squealing santa for 2022! (Yes I get to write 2!!! Lucky me ^^)

I am so happy to get to write something for the Moon Knight boys again I love this trio! I decided to go with the 'wakeup tickles after a rough night' cause I feel like that works really well with these three. I also went for Lee!Marc in this scenario to fit with the prompt the best ^^. I guess it's a liiiiiittle angsty at the start (only a MENTION of Marc's childhood from Steven and Jake) but becomes very fluffy very quickly.

I'm also testing out a way of writing Jake's Spanish to make the story still flow to spanish and non-spanish speakers (such as myself) alike. Let me know if y'all think it works or not, I'm intrigued!!

Once again, thank you @hypahticklish for conducting the entirety of Squealing Santa this year, you've done an amazing job and should be very proud!

"Well at least we know he fell asleep eventually..." Steven sighed, looking sympathetically at Marc.

"Si..." Jake nodded. "Aunque no hará que hoy sea más fácil." "Yes..." Jake nodded. "Though it won't make today any easier."

"I just can't imagine hating Christmas." Steven continued, his head hung low. "It must have been awful, with his- our Mum."

It had only taken a few Christmases for the boys to notice just how much Marc struggled with the holiday season. It wasn't necessarily surprising considering how his Mother had treated him after the accident, but they had no idea how to help.

Jake took a breath, and began moving towards the bed.

"What are you doing?" Steven began, eyebrows raised in both confusion and worry.

"Vamos, es hora de que lo despertemos." "Come on, it's time we woke him."

Jake slowly lowered himself next to Marc's head, starting to gently run his fingers through the sleeping man's hair.

"Es de mañana amigo." He whispered, his voice soft and soothing. "It's morning my friend." He whispered, his voice soft and soothing.

His response was a barely conscious whine as Marc turned away and pulled the covers higher. Jake sighed, letting his fingers fall down to the nape of his brother's neck and back up to the base of his hairline.

He would have given up , if not for the slight flinch from the body in front of him, and the almost silent sleepy giggle that followed.

Both Jake and Steven's eyes met, pupils aglow with inspiration and excitement. Jake continued the smooth trails of his fingers up and down Marc's neck, and Marc continues to let soft murmurs of a laugh leave his still-sleeping form.

"Awww!" Steven cooed quietly. "That's adorable!"

Jake grinned, gesturing with his free hand for Steven to join him.

Jumping at the chance to help make Marc's day a little brighter, Steven settled himself near Marc's waist. He brought a hand up to the man's stomach and let his fingers form a soft claw. The moment he began spidering his fingertips along Marc's tummy, Marc was already giggling out his last few moments of sleep.

"Whahahahat...?" Marc drowsily chuckled, not completely aware of the fact that the laughter was coming from him. "Guhuhuhuys!"

"¿Qué te pasa Marc?" Jake smirked from behind. "¿Cosquilloso?" "What's the matter Marc?" Jake smirked from behind. "Ticklish?"

"Quihihihit ihihit!"

Steven laughed. "Oh I don't think you quite want us to stop!"

And boy was Steven right. The beaming smile, the half-hearted (and half-asleep) bats of his hand, the deepening blush with every teasing word. Marc was loving every second of the attention, no matter how flustering it may be.

Knowing how much his friend was appreciating the moment, Steven decided to add his other hand to Marc's tummy. Along with a little more pressure and sporadic movements.

"Nononononono Steheheven!" Marc yelped, delving into full-on belly laughter now. "Stahahap ihihit!"

Sensing the change in tone of the playful attack, Jake began squeezing Marc's trap muscles - right at the base of his neck. Marc let out a squeal, arching his back momentarily before curling up into a ball.

With his access to Marc's tummy temporarily revoked, Steven opted for the deadlier option of his hips. They were a well-known screech spot, but Steven could tell Marc was in the mood for a continued tickle attack.

And who was he to decline?

Somehow finding the perfect balance of pressure and speed, Steven's nimble thumbs rubbed agonizingly endless circles on Marc's hip bones. Marc's waist bucked and shook, as the poor man shrieked within an inch of his life.

"STEHEHEHE- STAHAHA- PLEHEHEHE-!" Marc begged, unable to push a full word through his humiliatingly high pitched laughter.

"Aww, can Marc not take the tickly tickly tickles?" Steven teased, tapping his fingers against his victim's sides.

"NOHOHO- WAHAHAI- STEHEHEV-!"

As Steven continued to torture the poor American senseless, Jake took a moment to relax. His two friends, laughing themselves silly on Christmas morning. What more could a man want? He smiled softly at the sight, and whispered under his breath:

"Feliz navidad, mi hermano." "Merry Christmas, my brother."

¿A qué vuelves? ¿Qué haces en este lugar? ¿Qué buscas? ¿Qué esperas? No debería preguntarte, en realidad no me interesa. Haz lo que quieras, pero aléjate de mi vista, que estos ojos están cansados de cegarse por tonterías. Descubrí un mundo tan distinto al salirme de ti que, una vez que he vuelto a meterme en tu centro, me quedó claro que no puedo —ni debo— ser como fui. Tampoco lo eres tú, has cambiado como yo. Ya no somos los mismos, ¿cómo pretendes que sea como antes? Si ahora somos esto, un compendio de experiencias que nos arrancaron las alas para colocarnos en la espalda la roca de la perdición... La inocencia se quedó en el limbo, sólo el infierno nos quedó.

"Debemos volver, aún no estamos del todo completos. Sigues mirando hacia afuera, sabiendo que es sólo dentro donde me puedes encontrar. Has perdido el miedo, eso ya es un gran paso. Sin embargo, aún tiemblas al rozar la mirada en las afueras. No hay nada afuera que no puedas encontrar en Mí, pero lo tienes que creer".

Do what you want, but stay out of my sight, these eyes are tired of being blinded by nonsense. I discovered such a different world when I left you that, once I got back into your center, it became clear to me that I cannot -- nor should I -- be as I was. Not a soul had expected how Y/N would behave on excessive alcohol.  She didn’t speak to many people outside her band and Emilia, so it was a surprise when she was suddenly talking to whoever was beside her and jumping on tables to sing along to whatever song was playing.  No one was shy from hyping her up, especially when she looked like a million dollars.

“Y/N!  Stop getting distracted!” Jana suddenly appeared beneath her, yanking Y/N off the table and preventing her from singing along to the rest of the Bad Bunny song.  Those around them booed Jana for stealing the party girl from their presence.

“Oh my god, why haven’t I started drinking before, Jana?  This is awesome,” Y/N cheered, followed by a drunken giggle.  “I feel like I’m floating.”

Jana could only roll her eyes as she weaved through the crowd toward the makeshift stage, dragging Y/N behind her.

“I hope you haven’t drunk too much cause you’re on now,” Jana said before grabbing the mic stand.

“Good evening, everyone!” Jana shouted into the mic as everyone gathered around the stage.  Y/N stood behind her, smoothing out the sides of her dress, while the crowd gave a weak response.  “I hope everyone’s having a great time!”

“Are we playing or what?  Come on!” Luka interrupted, causing the crowd to cheer.  Jana gave him a look before introducing the band.

“We are Sin Nombre!”

“Show us your tits!” a guy shouted.

“I don’t think anyone wants to see that saggy shit,” Y/N mumbled, only loud enough for the rest of the band to hear and smile at.

Y/N almost forgot sing the next lyric as she was so hung up on the way Emilia’s eyes saw into her soul and her lips kissed away her problems.  She wanted more.

¡Hola anon! Te dejo una explicación bajo el cut 💕

Primero que nada: no copies nada desde tumblr. Ve al codepen y cópialo de allí. Nos ahorramos problemas de tumblr así 😉

Para estas pestañas, lo más importante son dos atributos que explicaré ahora. Son pestañas que yo llamo 'deslizantes'. Primero que nada, nuestro HTML.

Vale, lo más importante: --tab y data-tab. Esto es lo que hace funcionar este código. Data-tab es lo que usaremos para cambiar --tab a medida que clickemos pestañas. Empezaremos contando de 0 hacia arriba. Esto nos ayudará a que el margin sea el correcto.

Ahora, nuestro JS. Es super compacto:

Línea por línea:

Abrimos una función que se ejecutará cuando se haga click en uno de los span dentro de .tabs.

Agarramos el contenido del atributo data-tab del span que hemos clickado.

Buscamos el parent del span llamado .parent (valga la redundancia) y cambiamos su style por uno con el nuevo data-tab (que hemos sacado en la línea anterior).

Le asignamos la clase .active al span clickado.

Le retiramos la clase .active a los spans hermanos del span clickado.

Alright, lo tenemos todo. Pero no se mueve na. Vamos con el CSS, primero, el horizontal (que yo lo uso para cajas más pequeñas, como perfiles de tema):

Lo importante de este CSS es que tu margin-left debe de ser el mismo width que tus cajitas/main. Puedes usar px si es un ancho concreto, si no, usa -100%.

Con verticales (que yo uso en perfiles sencillos o cajas más anchotas) lo mismo, pero cambiamos el flow del flexbox y cambiamos margin-left por top.

Lo único que cambia en las verticales es que sí o sí tenemos que usar píxeles para el margin, ya que el porcentaje vertical se determina con el ancho, así que a menos que tu caja sea un cuadrado, tendrás un mal cálculo de margin.

Sólo te quedaría ponerle un poco de estilo para que te quede lindo y mover tus campos al lugar correcto (que puedes hacerlo con el JS básico para perfiles 😉). ¡Suerte!

Gone is the look of confidence! Now there’s only dread, as the heroine, still paralyzed from the laser blast, can only lie there.

She lies motionless as the villain begins unzipping her left boot. She should be relived! She’s heard of other captured heroines having their breasts exposed or hands and other items placed in their pants…….this is only an unzipping of her boot…….but she very audibly whimpers.

Watching this as a spectator: this isn’t a debooting like you may see on Next Global Crisis. Those heroines are sometimes debooted so the villain can hit them with their own boot or choke them with their boot. But this villain doesn’t intend on using her boot for anything. He wants it off, because he wants her foot…….,her bare foot!

She feels him slowly touch her calf, if only he’d stop there. But to want her foot seems twisted, sick and oddly invasive for some reason.

Más someone who loves the female foot. There’s nothing quite like watched a girl take her shoe off just to the point of beginning to see more of her foot than you would normally see. The boot is removed! Her foot is now bare!

She has a small ankle that flows into a very round almost apple shaped heel. Perfectly rounded!

A high arch, leading to plump little toes.

The villain’s expressions says it all: he wants this.

The heroine is still crying. Even when hit by the laser and left paralyzed, she never would have guessed , her booted soles and small toes would ever be this monster’s target.

Most of the time she would never even think about being barefoot but this is different. This is someone else causing her to be barefoot with the intentions of studying her feet and………touching them?

Almost all other heroines wear leggings or hose. They show their shape without giving easy access to the skin…..,,.their flesh.

Our heroine, didn’t wear leggings. Is that what caught his eye. When he saw her standing confidently and later falling to the ground, was he already thinking about her bare feet inside of her boots? Was he already then deciding that because of her youth that he may not violate her but he may take advantage of the lack of leggings?

He admires the shapely foot as the heroine breaks down emotionally.

He grasps her heel as she cries. He’s not touching nylon, it’s her soft skin! Her young sole wrinkles in both side to side wrinkles and a large wrinkle running down the middle of her young foot. Her soft subtle toes are all lined up perfectly except for her smallest toe, which is drifting from the others. Leggings would have kept her toes all together and hidden the soft waves of the sole of her foot.

Earlier today she slid her perfectly shaped young feet into her boots and foolishly went in to battle. Never at that time realizing that every small wrinkle in the soles of her feet, parts of her body that she never sees or thinks about, would be someone’s passion.

Tears of humiliation, fear and sickness roll down her face. Sick from feeling his hands against her smooth soft feet and knowing that he may not stop with just touching her feet………

Will he………….taste them?

En la vida real se repiten, en un foro que no es tan inmenso no debería con la cantidad de recursos. Incluso hay tumblrs con sugerencias de PB, apellidos, nombres. No hay perdón.

El año del descubrimiento.

El 10 de Febrero de 2004 se lanzó al mercado The College Dropout el debut de Kanye West, un productor que venía haciendo ruido por aquel entonces y se había convertido en el protegido de Jay-Z, el rey del game tras las muertes de 2Pac y Biggie. Se ha escrito ya todo lo que se tenía que escribir sobre él, por eso no quiero profundizar en su análisis, no lo veo necesario, además los 2 primeros episodios de Jeen-Yuhs quizás conformen el mejor documental making of sobre un disco de rap que se haya hecho, podéis leer una pieza que le dediqué titulada ‘Reflexiones y disecciones sobre Jeen-Yuhs’. De todas formas sí quería aprovechar la oportunidad para plasmar lo que este LP significó para mí, es el album que más impacto ha tenido en mi vida musical y está en mi top 5 de más escuchados. Pensar que ya han pasado 20 años de algo que viviste tan fervientemente da vértigo, es una cantidad de tiempo grandilocuente pero a la vez tengo la sensación de que ha pasado en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.

Lo descubrí por un banner publicitario en la web de Misión Urbana, uno de los e-place to be de la época, con noticias, biografías y una numerosa comunidad menos troll que la de Hip Hop Hispano, me llamó mucho la atención el artwork, entré al foro y se estaba comentando. 5 meses antes se había filtrado una primera versión del disco pero en esos años no estaba tan al día y pasó por debajo de mi radar. Si habéis escuchado esa versión primigenia notaréis que es descafeinada con respecto a lo que conocemos, que tiene un aire sucio a mixtape tipo Freshmen Adjustment ( algunas canciones acabarían en la mixtape oficial y otras ya fueron lanzadas en su primera tape de 2002 Get Well Soon…) que su voz antes del accidente sonaba más alta y que el sample de Lauryn Hill en ‘All Falls Down’ se tuvo que sustituir por la voz de Syleena Johnson. Y bueno, en la intro de ‘Jesus Walks’ John Legend canta El Tamborilero, esos poropopompon no son adlibs, en serio escuchad la versión OG, John Legend >> Raphael. El caso es que buscando información al respecto leí que fue una copia promocional que le hicieron llegar a algunos A&R y periodistas, las reviews fueron malas y en lugar de confrontar a los críticos ( s/o spanish rappers en Twitter ) Kanye se puso manos a la obra: remezcló, remasterizó, añadió arreglos y coros, cambió versos, flows y entonaciones, lo refinó. Y quitó el poropopompon. El resto, es historia.

Excepto a Hov, no conocía a la mayoría de MC’s que colaboran en él: Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Freeway, todo Rawkus… los descubrí gracias a Kanye, diggeando los samples di con el soul clásico como Marvin Gaye y Chaka Khan y aunque no estén muestreados aquí también a leyendas como Stevie Wonder. Escuchando y leyendo entrevistas a Kanye conocí sus influencias: A Tribe Called Quest y todo Native Tongues, The Pharcyde, Souls Of Mischief, Main Source… todo el rap conscious. Hasta llegué a Dave Chappelle, que se convirtió en mi cómico favorito, cuando tocó ‘The Food’ con Common en su show ( hoy considerado un momento icónico para la cultura ) y circuló el clip por todo internet. Busqué como loco cómo ver Chapelle’s Show, sólo podía ver algunos sketches en la web de Comedy Central y tardé unos años más en hacerme con una copia bootleg de las dos temporadas del programa, aunque antes pude disfrutar de la maravilla de documental que es Dave Chapelle’s Block Party, en el que Mr.West hacía unas interpretaciones en directo acojonantes llenas de energía y hambre acompañado de una banda en la que tocaba un batería de afro increíble ( aquí descubrí a The Roots ).

The College Dropout no sólo me parece lo mejor de Ye junto a Late Registration, si no que supuso una llave maestra que abrió multitud de puertas ante mí, fue el comienzo de mi nerdismo por el rap y la música. Tras un tiempo escuchando a saco 2Pac, Biggie, Wu-Tang o Black Eyed Peas destapé un estilo con el que me identificaba 100%, una musicalidad hip hop inédita para mis oídos, para mí todo era nuevo, como el interludio de ‘I’ll Fly Away’ que fue lo primero de gospel que escuché más allá de alguna película que hubiese visto, esas armonías vocales me cautivaron. ‘Through The Wire’ era mejor que ‘Hey Ya!’ y esto era mejor que el último de Outkast. Hubo puristas y OGs de España a los que respeto que en su día criticaron a Kanye, se le consideraba comercial, persona non grata en el Hip Hop ( como a Jay-Z y tantos otros ) y además vestía camisas y jerseys pero mi yo adolescente ya estaba seguro de su taste. Recuerdo sentir cierto alivio cuando años más tarde salió el documental Spanish Players y Tote King mencionó que era uno de sus MCs favoritos del momento, no alivio exactamente pero si cierta sensación de que el gusto en España no estaba del todo perdido y de que podía venir un cambio de mentalidad que finalmente acabó llegando ( tardaría otro trecho ).

Ver a Kanye vestido de esa manera siendo tan rapper a la vez y expresarse con ese bravado en sus canciones y entrevistas me hizo sacar un ego sano, ser más extrovertido, hacerme valer, en definitiva, ser yo mismo, romper el cascarón. En ese proceso de formación que es la adolescencia Kanye me ayudó haciéndome ser un poco Kanye, puso algo en aquel zagal. Era un artista con el que te podías identificar 100% si venías de clase media/acomodada porque ni era gangster ni era bling bling y hablaba de temas como la educación, la familia y una religión cristiana en la que había crecido pero de la que cada vez me sentía más distanciado, aunque lograba conectar con la épica de ‘Jesus Walks’. Su debut es una historia de autoempoderamiento, usó su arrogancia como combustible para cumplir sus sueños y no dejar que sus haters destruyesen su autoestima, de ser inseguro y encontrar tu propia identidad, le rezó a los cielos y cambió sus estrellas, es un relato honesto de una persona imperfecta, como lo somos todos, un hipócrita simpático y fanfarrón que hace crítica social cargando contra el consumismo para 3 frases más tarde frontear de haberse comprado ropa cara y un carro nuevo. Por eso amamos a Kanye, es (era) como nosotros. También era un nerd, su swag no venía de la calle, venía de una confianza enfermiza en sí mismo y su storytelling era embriagante, goofy en el buen sentido y lleno de humor.¿‘The New Work Out Plan’? Kanye en 2004 ya estaba riéndose de los gymbros y gymgurlz, influencers, cryptobros motivadores, Llados de la vida y demás fauna.

9 días después de su lanzamiento fue mi cumpleaños así que con las perrillas que recogí fui a comprar el CD, el autoregalo perfecto, había que tenerlo, me pasé el trayecto de vuelta en bus leyendo los créditos del libreto y flipando con ese diseño de artwork tan elegante y sofisticado y esa selección de colores ( Eric Duvauchell, el encargado de arte de Roc-A-Fella se inspiró en un libro de ilustraciones del siglo XVI ). Lo que no sabía es que se quedaría a vivir en la ranura del Mercedes de mi padre durante los siguientes 3–4 años, que su carcasa tipo jewel case pasaría los inviernos dentro de la guantera ( a la que un año después se uniría la de Late Registration ) y que sería la banda sonora de los viajes familiares y trayectos en el carro, cuando mi padre me recogía del colegio o se escuchaba el programa de Andrés Montes en Radio Marca o se escuchaba a Kanye. En 2006 cuando mi hermana mayor fue de viaje a París le pedí que me comprase la edición deluxe del DVD de Late Orchestration con esa funda marrón aterciopelada, aquí sólo se vendían la normal y quería tener la mejor posible, lo acabé viendo tanto que creo que lo jodí y me hace skip en uno de sus fragmentos. Un año después ella y su novio, que jamás habían escuchado rap, terminaron sucumbiendo ante Kanye, para mi alegría, con la fusión pop de Graduation ( eran fans de Coldplay y la colabo de Chris Martin ayudó ) y sobre todo con 808’s & Heartbreaks, esos 2 discos se quemaron en el coche del que desde hace 3 años es mi ex-cuñado, con el que pasaba bastante tiempo, era como el hermano mayor que nunca tuve y como controlaba inglés por fin tenía alguien con el que hablar de lo último que había estado leyendo en los foros de kanyelive ( más tarde pasaría a ser KTT ) y pasarle los videos de directos y conciertos que había estado recolectando. La fiebre por Kanye estaba en la casa y recuerdo conversaciones telefónicas aceleradas con ellos cuando en 2008/09 estuvo a punto de tocar en Razzmatazz, cruzando llamadas con el personal de la sala que nos confirmaron que sí estaba reservado, yo estaba estudiando en Cádiz e hicimos cábalas para quedar en Barcelona. 

The College Dropout tenía ese carácter accesible que me hacía pensar que no iba a taladrarle la cabeza demasiado a mi familia, aunque me acuerdo de llevar en coche a mi pobre abuela ( que tendría sus 90 años ) a su casa circa 2011 bumpeando el disco y decirme de repente en voz baja y con mucha cautela desde el asiento de atrás “nene, parece que están pegando tiros en la calle”, fue algo que me hizo mucha gracia y que jamás olvidaré. Mis padres han escuchado más hip hop yankee que algunos rappers pegaos de aquí, eso sí, no lo entendían, aunque algunos de aquí tampoco entienden mucho, sinceramente. No sé si eran tiempos más felices porque no quiero caer en la trampa de la nostalgia pero desde luego si que eran más despreocupados e inocentes, éramos ricos y no lo sabíamos. Hoy ha salido Vultures y mi hermana está desde las 7 de la mañana en un centro comercial, ha llevado a mi sobrina, que tiene la misma edad que tenía yo cuando escuché TCD, a un meet & greet con expulsados de OT, cosa de la que le he dicho entre risas que se arrepentirá dentro de 10 años. Mi padre ya no puede conducir y soy yo el que lo saca a comer por ahí, el Mercedes se vendió y todos mis CDs están cogiendo polvo en un armario, disfrutando de una jubilación anticipada, quizás algo injusta, consecuencia de los avances tecnológicos y el cambio de los nuevos tiempos pero satisfechos por los servicios prestados. El otro día Tom Breihan escribió una pieza en la que decía que no sólo echaba de menos al viejo Kanye sino que también echaba de menos al Kanye de 2016 que rapeaba sobre por qué echamos de menos al viejo Kanye. Así es como me siento yo, en una matrioska de añoranza. Aquel 2004 en mi casa se conoció a Kanye antes de ser el marido de Kim Kardashian y the crazy n*gga from the interviews.

EN OLLA Y SOY ARTISTA

Fui al teatro, no recuerdo cuándo, pero fue este mes, este año y la semana pasada… fue mi primera vez dentro del Teatro Nacional, para lxs demás era la número setecientos (exagero), no recuerdo en cuál sala fue (el nombre), pero es la más pequeña… uhm, para la obra que fue, considero que debió haber sido en la más grande. Comparto la crítica de Claudio Rivera en Acento.com (la pueden buscar): “hecho teatral fundamental”, y como realmente lo es (me cargo de objetividad y bombo), más gente la debería ver. Había mucha gente con altos flows, no soy el público objetivo, pero era interesante ver y conjeturar, a veces me siento mal por andar conjeturando/llevando vida, pero ¿Qué pasa igual?… También había un stand de libros, porque la obra estaba inspirada en una novela. A la chica del stand la vi con mis ojos medianamente ciegos memorizar lo que hasta ahora creo que era el nombre de la autora… se veía muy linda y cómica.

Las luces todo el tiempo fueron azules y rojas, bueno, no todo el tiempo, pero sí en los momentos más importantes, eso me hizo incomodar un poco porque me di cuenta de que en todas las pocas obras que he visto, siempre usan estos dos colores en las mismas escenas con cierto peso dramático, y me pregunto, sin saber en lo absoluto, ¿Qué diablo? ¿Por qué diablo? Hay un montón de colores, ¿Por qué diablo? [voz de demonio]

Terminó casi a las diezpm y pensé con toda la seriedad que en mí habita: “¿Debería irme en metro con Gloria o me voy en un motor? y lidio con la brisa y los lentes de sol para evitar llorar por la intensa brisa” (ahora me muerde la gata… luego el gato), calculé lo que con el dolor de mi alma gastaría en el motor, descartando irme en metro para evitar caminar y que en el recorrido me viren como una media, me secuestren o se me rompa un taquito de las hermosas botas que llevaba en los pies y que tanto amo. Mientras estoy pidiendo el motorcito, que terminó siendo LA moto, veo a un señor argentino de unos 60 años acercársele a unx gen Z o posterior modo shy en su celu, el señor al acercársele le pregunta si le puede pedir un taxi a su casa porque no tiene celular, la persona le sacó los pies sádicamente y yo pensé dos cosas:

1. ¿Debería pedirle el taxi?

2. ¿Puedo pedirle el taxi? Porque solo tengo RD$150.00 y las dos paradas harán más dinero, tampoco quiero que él pague mi parada.

Pero justo llegaba LA moto y me llamaba mi mamá por tercera vez, entonces me despedí de los agraciados que comparten espacio-tiempo conmigo y en el camino pensé, todavía hoy pienso: ¿Klk con ese señor? ¿Klk con la gente que no ha podido ver esta obra? ¿Klk con el lunes y mi pasaje? Porque acabo de gastar mi budget por ver la mejor obra hasta ahora.
