Yuri washing Victor’s hair, even though he's fully capable of doing it himself, simply because Victor likes having his head/hair touched

Yuri teaching Victor how to tie a necktie instead of just doing it for him (and the whole thing somehow evolves into playful nonsense)

Victor putting Yuri's robe in the dryer to warm it up for him before he gets out of bed, and then bringing it to him when he goes to wake him up

Eden recording voice messages for Haru instead of leaving him handwritten notes, so Haru doesn't have to struggle to read them

Haru waking up earlier than he prefers, just so he can make Eden’s favourite breakfast before Eden heads to the rink for practice.

Nikolai wearing Mishka's clothes, and Mishka finding it totally adorable, but also being secretly amused because all his stuff is way too big for Nikolai and it looks like a kid has stolen his parent's things.

I have a dumb Arcana headcanon (spoilers)

So I'm pretty sure on Julian's route, it says something about one of the grandmas that raised him and Portia being a princess? I feel like this was Lilinka?

(I literally can't find receipts of this anywhere on the wiki so I might have made this part up.)

Here's the thing. In Slavic culture, names like Ilya, Mazelinka and Lilinka aren't like...proper given names. Just like Julian, you have a proper name and then a nickname your family and friends call you, like Ilya.

So Mazelinka is probably not her actual name. She's probably like a Madelina, Milena or something similar. Which would mean Lilinka is also not a proper name, but maybe a family name given by the Devoracks, or possibly Mazelinka herself? Lilinka might be a Lily, or at least it would be funny if she was.

Most Slavic names have specific nickname equivalents*. (or multiple equivalents)

For example the nickname for Alexander/Alexandra is Sasha, Maria is Masha, etc. You can also add a suffixes like -enka, -inka, -shka etc. It acts like a term of endearment. So instead of calling someone "dear" you might say "Ilyashka" in place of Ilya. Or Sashka in place of Sasha.

I might be wrong, but I think you would have to make up a nickname for the name Lily, it doesn't seem to have a traditional family name. I don't think it was a common Slavic name, in history.

The evidence isn't super solid, but I don't think Lilinka is from the same culture as the Devoracks and possibly Mazelinka.

Ok here's where I'm getting into my conspiracy lol.

Not only does Julian end up knowing Nazali, a Satrinava sibling, but Mazelinka ends up knowing Nahara, another Satrinava. Portia is also hired to work for Nadia despite (seemingly) having no experience or background. Coincidence? I think not!

What if Lily was a Satrinava?

Nazarin, Nadia's mother, seems to be where Nadia's family gets their titles and name from. So Nazarin's siblings would all be princesses and princes.

Keeping everyone's age in mind, Lily could probably be a sister of Nazarin.

The Satrinavas would have known Mazelinka as an auntie. And they would have probably known the Devoraks as extended, adopted family.

I would also just like to suggest, although it doesn't prove anything, that Lily is said to be an English name. But the flower isn't native to England or Europe. It's from the Middle East.

Disclaimer: I'm not Slavic myself, so my explanations might be a little clumsy. ^^' Feel free to correct.

*I think Ilya is usually a nickname for Elijah? Idk what's up with that.

FROM THE SMALL’S ARCHIVE: CAROLINE DAVIS with Milena Casada, Julian Shore, Chris Tordini, and Allan Mednard, SMALL’S JAZZ CLUB, 9 NOVEMBER 2023, 9 pm set

CAROLINE DAVIS stands out both as an improviser on alto sax and leader. She plays with both drive and patience in a comfortable register. Her solos are smart and linear. She had Allan Mednard as the rock of the rhythm section offering thoughtful percussion comments that embellished other players or opened up new possibilities. Julian Shore’s piano similarly raised the level both as a responsive accompanist and intelligent soloist. Milena Casada finally had a developed solo on the closer, but, beside adding to the color of the ensemble with Davis, her solos were terse and punchy with a little of later Miles Davis snarl. That she played flugelhorn was interesting, narrowing the range of the more typical trumpet/tenor sax pairing.

What synthesized these two aspects of Davis’ musicianship were her compositions and tune selection. They drew on family, including responses to a grandmother’s poetry and influence and for her father. These were homey tunes, warmly felt and affectionate. They had a grace and beauty. The covers were also by women, including the lovely Unconditional Love from Geri Allen and the Patrice Rushen closer that helped Casada open up.

I expected an edgier set than I got. Davis is thoroughly modern and Casada perhaps contributed the edge. But this was a solid band with special kudos to Mednard committed to communicating Davis’ vision.

WINDOWLICKER - exhibition space in Nowy Bazar Różyckiego in Warsaw

Windowlicker is an experimental exhibition space in one of the pavilions in Nowy Bazar Różyckiego in Warsaw. The area of ​​the Nowy Bazar Różycki is in the neighbourhood of the so-called Różyc, one of the oldest marketplaces in Warsaw, founded in Praga Północ district by Julian Różycki in the 1880s.

The pavilion serves as something between a gallery and an esoteric market stall, thus referring to the tradition of bazaar fortune tellers, whose presence at the market is confirmed by native inhabitants of Praga district. Fortune telling, as a popular folk practice, is an important part of the urban folklore.

Its location and form of the pavilions question the concept of a traditional gallery or art studio, thus asking about the role of art and the artist.

The name Windowlicker comes from the English idiom window licking (window shopping) and the French lèche-vitrine, loosely translated to licking shop windows, which means looking at shop windows, but ultimately not buying anything.

The name emphasizes both the non-commercial nature of the space within the market and refers to the glass walls that allow viewing the exhibited works without having to go inside.

It serves as:

a gallery/showroom

a library/reading room

a place for a meeting/lecture 

The inauguration of the exhibition pavilion was the Abracadabra exhibition in July 2023 by Milena Soporowska and Śomi Śniegocka, presenting their projects regarding modern esotericism.

The exhibition was accompanied by the premiere of a zine/small publication under the same title, presenting commissioned works by: Milena Soporoska @milsopo | Śomi Śniegocka @somi.sni | Barbara Janczak @morf.st | Marta Kudelska | Agnieszka Piksa @agnieszka.piksa | and Eli Wysakowska-Walters.

The space is run by two creators: Milena Soporowska and Piotrek Sobiecki performing under the pseudonym Lotus Reaction.

Hm.

I think I'll do Geraskier for this.

Geralt is pretty sure his betrothed, handsome young Viscount Julian Pankratz, is going to find him hideous. He's a witcher, after all, and doubly mutated at that.

Geralt is getting changed for the wedding in the room he's been shown to, a beautifully appointed space full of delicate furniture that he doesn't dare touch lest he break it. He's trying to figure out the tiny, fiddly fastenings of the doublet he's been given when he hears a sound from the other side of a door off to one side.

No human would be able to hear it, but Geralt's not human.

"...you see him?" a male voice asks. It takes Geralt a moment to place it, but then he realizes it's Viscount Julian.

"Yes, I did," a female voice replies.

Geralt braces himself for the insults.

"That hair," Viscount Julian sighs. "Like moonlight on the water! And those eyes! Like pools of molten gold! I thought I would swoon just from looking at him!"

...What the hell, Geralt thinks blankly. No one has ever described his hair and eyes in - in favorable terms.

"And those arms! He looks like he could just sling me over his shoulder and carry me off." Viscount Julian actually sighs in what sure as fuck sounds like anticipation. "And oh, I'd let him."

"You've got strange taste, Jaskier," the female voice says, sounding amused but not particularly surprised.

"I have very good taste, thank you," Viscount Julian retorts. He and his companion must move away from the door, because Geralt hears nothing else.

But - well. Huh.

Maybe this won't be a complete clusterfuck after all.
