Stray Thoughts on George Kamitani and Women in Vanillaware Games
I'm not getting into it yet because I want to play more and do more research on their games, but I think there might be something to discuss about George Kamitani's feelings on women, besides the tired "he's a sexist objectifying freak!" stuff that gets lobbed at him all the time.
Princess Crown prominently stars a lady, and is set in a kingdom that's a matriarchy.
Odin Sphere, from what I've played so far, has quite a bit about gender roles and the horror of women losing their agency. If a Valkyrie commits treason, she's stripped of her rank, put to sleep, and made someone's wife, and it's treated as the most horrible thing that can befall a woman of that status.
And while I dislike how Muramasa treats Momohime (note: have not played the true ending yet), that also has themes of women losing their agency.
And I think that's super interesting, especially from an auteur who more popularly gets seen as the sexist coomer bait dev because of Dragon's Crown.

Why Vanillaware Is The Vita and PSP's Best Developer
I’ve been around the block a few times, and honestly, I cannot overstate the impact that Vanillaware has had on the world of gaming. This Japanese video game developer has become synonymous with quality, craftsmanship, and innovation (and amazing visuals!). Which is why, for my money, Vanillaware is undoubtedly the best developer for the PlayStation Vita and PSP. Vanillaware’s dedication to…

If the means were available, would you stream Murumasa: The Demon Blade. I adore that game so much and it pains me how it got stranded on the wii, where it struggled to find an audience, and Vita, which found an audience among the 10 people who bought a Vita. Also, since you are on a vanillaware kick, what did you think of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rift a few years ago?
I have a Vita TV and a physical copy of Muramasa Rebirth.
I can absolutely stream it.
I also have the Odin Sphere remaster for PS4 and Dragon’s Crown.
I loved 13 Sentinals and have been itching to replay it.
I also really wanted to pick up GrimGrimoire’s remaster too, but funds are tight and I’m still job hunting. So that’ll have to wait.

Hace 15 años, es lanzado Muramasa: The Demon Blade, conocido en Japón como Oboro Muramasa (朧村正, "borroso Muramasa").

It's just me or do the all Foreign Disciples share a sky/weather/celestial object motifs?
Gregory Rasputin has Bahloo, the spirit of the moon from Gamilaraay mythology
Ashiya Douman has Itzpapalotl, the leader of Tzitzimitl from Aztec mythology that were said to attack the sun and cause eclipses and his NP is literal a giant sun
Senji Muramasa (AE) has Susanoo, the god of storm from Japanese mythology
Young James Moriarty has a 2nd NP that related to asteroid
Sherlock Holmes, whose gods haven't been revealed but by some speculation might be Buddhist related which does have many beliefs on how the universe functions for Karma and what not
So what's the Count going to be?
If it does follow that pattern, I would assume whatever celestial body is most associated with rebirth given the Count Apostle is supposed to revive Olga. If they don't want to recycle motifs, maybe the Night to go with space itself? Although, I remember a theory that Holmes has Erebus so that might be taken.

Muramasa: Rebirth Review - Super Pretty... But Is It Fun?
I’ve been a fan of Vanillaware’s games since I first played Odin Sphere on the PlayStation 2 (here is my review of its Vita remaster). Their games are always visually stunning, and Muramasa: Rebirth is no exception. The game features a beautiful hand-drawn art style that is reminiscent of classic Japanese anime and manga. The characters, environments, and enemies are all beautifully drawn and…

ever thought of looking into some Vanillaware games? (13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is one I’d especially recommend.)
It's definitely on my Wish List at current. :) I've been recommended it a number of times - primarily for its story? I don't even know what the gameplay IS, frankly. lol.
Previously, I've only played Muramasa Rebirth (which was... I'd say above average? I only did one of the two campaigns, though.) and I tried Dragon's Crown as a demo (which I bounced off pretty hard). I've considered trying Odin Sphere.....
