Does anyone know if Mercedes is appearing in the upcoming tv film? We did not see enough of her as a vampire in the show and I’ll be thrilled if we get to see more!
Also she and Wynonna had amazing chemistry which was really fun to watch.

My Peak Television Journey *Grand Crew*
I am very disappointed that Grand Crew was canceled. I wasn’t as excited about the second season as I was the first, but that may have more to do with how I watched it than the quality. (I watched the first season out of order, starting in the middle and then binging earlier episodes. I watched the second season in order as it aired. So I had less of the sense of excitement of finding something you almost missed, but would still say all the episodes are good.)
I like getting to see Echo Kellum as a leading man, the hopeless romantic Noah. It felt like he was underused for much of the second season. I loved his “Let’s do it for Sax Daddy” line delivery in the premiere. and where he was at the end of the season was a decent way to wrap the series.
I like getting to see Nicole Byer as I am also someone unlikely to watch Nailed It! She played Noah’s sister Nicky and she and Kellum have great sibling chemistry. One of the scenes that occasionally pops into my head is just them hanging out. and I enjoyed her wild dating life and commitment phobia, as well as seeing her as a real estate agent.
While I wish they had more A plot stories for Kellum’s Noah, I do have to give my respect to Aaron Jennings as Anthony often the series’s second leading man. He and Faith (played by Grasie Mercedes) had a lovely, if short lived romance. I also like how into accounting he was and his party persona of King TUT.
In general Faith could have used more air time. she was written out in the third to last episode of the series (her character moved cross country to open a second location of the wine bar in which the characters hang out) but she also missed other episodes. It left me with the impression that she couldn’t really bring the laughs, even though when she was there she regularly brought the laughs.
Carl Tart played Sherm and was frequently the funniest character on the show. With his endless start up businesses  and most sensitive palate he was always getting me to laugh out loud. I wanted him and Nicky to hook up at some point. A road cut short.
But maybe my favorite character on the show was Wyatt, played by Justin Cunningham. As the only married member of the group, he is something of an eccentric sounding board. (If the series had continued I would hope that his wife, Kristen played by Maya Lynne Robinson, would become a regular part of the ensemble.  I always enjoyed when she showed up.) Proof that marriage only change’s someone so much. An artist/house husband enthusiastic “plant dad” he always had a different perspective that somehow made everything feel more complete. I’m sad to see this ensemble go.

30 Day Writing Challenge Day 7
Prompt: Use the words: small town, bar, jukebox
~~~
Sarah walked to the group as they laughed and joked about whatever. She tapped the shoulder of the boy leaning against the car. “Yoohoo!”
He turned and smiled at her. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t Sarah Blackwood. You finally decided to be the other half of our rich power couple.”
“No, I just came to see how you were.”
Brock tilted his head like he didn’t believe her. “You hate coming here, so I know you’re not making a wellness call.”
Sarah rolled her eyes playfully while waving Tasha over and wrapping an arm around her. “Brock, meet Tasha Davis. She’s the new student from Ettadella’s Corner.”
“Hi,” the hydrokinetic shyly greeted him.
“Ettadella’s Corner. Where have I heard that name before?” He furrowed his brows until it clicked. “It’s a small town a few miles outside of Sam City, where I’m from.”
“Seriously?” Tasha smiled. “I used to go to Sam City with my mom to run errands and drop off my assignments.”
“Really?” Brock returned her smile. “Have you heard of Uptown Fresh?”
Tasha gasped fondly. “Are you kidding me? I practically lived there. My mom would go there to buy tea while I got some dried fruit.”
Sarah giggled. “Look at you two hitting it off. Brock, you remember Becky.”
~~~
Daisy walked up and placed her hand on Mercedes’ shoulder, sapping her confidence. “We’re just extending a wish of good fortune. After all, the tournament can be stressful.” The belt on her skirt tightened, forcing her to double over while her hand fell from Mercedes’s shoulder. “I can’t breathe!”
Nicole smirked while releasing her hold on Daisy’s belt. “Looks like you need to lay off those protein bars you think will replace your chocolate addiction.”
Daisy glared and stood up straight to fix her hair.
~~~
Lauryn locked eyes with Neil. However, their moment ended when a familiar scent invaded her senses. “Poison,” she whispered while her eyes roamed to the door where a woman with golden-brown skin and long, crimson-red locs walked in towards a table near the jukebox. “What is she doing here?”
Neil’s eyes followed Lauryn’s. “Sade Parker. I haven’t seen her since she graduated from Whitedone, a year before we did.”
“Last I heard she was locked up in Smallcliff County after she raided the mayor’s mansion. You know just as well as I do, she wasn’t there to steal from the rich and give to the poor.”
“Even still, a prison couldn’t hold her.” Neil chuckled, but he raised a brow when he saw Lauryn stand up from her seat. “Where are you going?”
Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Grand Crew’ Season 2 On NBC, With More Funny Wine-Fueled Hang Outs
One of the great things about the hang-out sitcom is that, even when its not firing on all cylinders, there are at least some storylines or b-plots that work in a particular episode. Season 1 of Grand Crew clicked more often than not, which gave us a lot of hope for Season 2. Does the new season live up to those expectations? GRAND CREW SEASON 2: STREAM IT OR SKIP IT? Opening Shot: After a recap…
