Chocolate Chip Waffle Reese’s S’mores.

Recipe: You should get two chocolate chip waffles, toast them in the toaster. Get three Reese’s and put them above on waffle. Get three marshmallows and put them on top of the Reese’s and then put the second waffle on top of the marshmallows. Put it in the oven for 1 or 2 or 3 minutes and enjoy.

Reese’s, we all know that peanut butter and chocolate go great together, but who in the heck decided pretzels or potato chips should go inside of one?! Who let that go out the factory after test tasting?

Terrible mouth feel and too much salt ruins the whole thing. It’s like they said let’s make this into a batter bc the normal combos are delicious and what people like, but they forgot how a batter doesn’t take into consideration the amount of salt and sugar from the other ingredients.

It’s a tumblr recipe all over again except replace the vanilla extract with salt and crunchy crumbs. 😭

Thursday, May 18, 2023 - I Love Reese's Day

I was really sick one time as a child. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong and couldn’t offer any help. My dad got me some Reese’s peanut butter cups. I ate them and was suddenly all better. I must have had a chocolate/peanut butter deficiency. I’ve never had that problem again.

Why Reese's?

You know how some people see a really cool rock at the river and have to take it home or else they’ll be thinking about it for weeks until they go back just to satisfy that mental itch?

Reese’s is my cool rock.

It started as a funny idea to collect wrappers and make a scrap book with notes rating the new flavors and shapes. Then there were too many to keep in a scrapbook and this minor hobby turned into several grocery bags full of candy wrappers.

I’ve been collecting Reese’s wrappers since 2007 when they had a big boom of types to see just how many candy niches they could fill. Some flavors were downright disgusting. Some that were amazing are now discontinued and I’m sad about it.

I wish I could stop. But if I see a new style, shape, flavor, or cover art and NOT buy it? My brain itches for days. I’ve been collecting Reese’s for 16 years now. Buying them is compulsion now.

Turning them into posters was an easy way to display them and feel like the project had purpose and direction again. And it’s a neat passive art project I can do while listening to podcasts or Dracula Daily.

Don’t know why my brain latched onto this specific candy so hard. I don’t even like eating them anymore.
