for example i've been playing ol2 again after the demo update and i'm havin a lot of fun! :D

after seeing the preview of step 2 this idea was born! i feel like those two would notice whose name was said first (especially if they are both jealous for mc) so my mc, Primrose, avoids saying their names for that reason if they are all together /hj

MAGIC MY BELOVED MAGIC!!! Its one of the best MVs in the entire series, even including T2. Magic is visually stunning and has some fantastic art direction but also is very clever in how it conveys its themes and ideas. Magic doesn't really hide anything from you, not really. It's all symbolic but it Tells You Things. It shows you the abuse, it shows you the cat. There's a fun little relationship going on here where, In Magic. Amane's pain and suffering isn't taken seriously by the people around her and the Audience we are discouraged to take it at face value due to the fictionalized nature of Magic. It's so cool. I'm so fond of the song as well, it's one of the best in the series purely cause of the Layers in it. The implications of this Inability to be good is seeped into Magic. Amane knows this isn't reality, Magic knows it's a show, she watches it at the end. And it's so Sad to me that even in her fictionalized happy world she Cannot be a good girl. It's a standard completely out of reach for her and that idea is just conveyed so well visually.

Im not even talking about the goddamn cat yet- the cat symbolism goes Deep. That cat is HER it has the same wounds Amane has in Purge March. I- I cant talk about the intertextuality of Purge March and Magic here this is Magic propaganda only- I- there's so much good stuff to Magic. I Re watched it over and over again. It has some the Best Writing and Visual Communication in Milgram and I will Die on this Hill.

CHILLS. im repeating myself but the fact that they were able to portray the awful things amane went through in a genuinely emotional way while still keeping the cute cartoon look is soo impressive

there are SO many layers to itill the entire cartoony style making it look like a tv show… utilizing the cartoony effects and bright colors to show amane downplaying her own pain… the transformation after she gets punished barely changing anything to show just how manipulated she was from the start… ueueueue

Wanderer has already signed his death wish once he accidentally fell head over heels for you, and it’s so frustrating how every single thing you do is so breathtaking to him—and he doesn’t even have a breath to begin with.

He’s so torn up about his feelings, a part of him wants to know how you feel about him, if you also stay up on cold nights wondering how your warm hand would feel against his cold skin, or the events of his travels with you replaying in his mind until he ultimately falls asleep.

Maybe he’ll never know that, because unfortunately for Wanderer, you’re the biggest idiot he’s ever met in his life. When the wanderer had accepted his newfound feelings for you, the only way he knew to react was to treat you with a meaner attitude. Yet his mannerisms were different—maybe even caring at times?

He has a habit of insulting people due to his huge superiority complex, but Wanderer just insults you whenever you do anything he finds attractive. Like, “Why are you smiling so much? It looks stupid on you.” or “What, are you just so happy to be in the presence of a creation the equivalent of a god? Wh— you are? …Shut up already, lowly human.”

His mean comments tread on the line of flirtatious overtime, and he grimaces whenever you just brush it off as his usual bitter personality. He’s weirdly good at finding back-handed ways to compliment you, “Your cooking tastes good, I bet I could do better, though.” and it pisses him off when you give him the same oblivious look every time—you idiot, when will you realize he adores every single thing about you?! Not like he’s been very apparent himself, though…

One time the Wanderer had picked some flowers and almost shyly handed you to them, anxiously waiting for your reaction as he held out the Sumeru roses in front of you “Hey, you like flowers, right? …Since you’ve done so much for me, here… ?! Why are you just gawking at me like that—? Take it already or I’m throwing them away.” Yet your response made the Wanderer want to dissolve right then and there, smiling and taking the bouquet from his hands, Wanderer nearly shivering at the faint contact of your fingertips against his.

“Thank you, Wanderer.”

“…Idiot.”

Oh archons, Wanderer’s really dug himself into a hole. And what’s even more frustrating is that you don’t even see any romantic intentions in the random flowers he gives you, something that had became a daily occurrence. But no way in hell was Wanderer gonna swallow his pride and straight up TELL you he likes you, he’d rather die than do that.

Tbh the progression of how much more romantic or affectionate his actions become is almost depressing to see, the only thing Wanderer receiving is a tilt of the head and a cute smile—not like that wasn’t enough of a reward for him, anyway, but those stupid horribly enchanting eyes of yours gave away how dense you were being to his feelings!!!!

At some point all of this has just been bubbling up under the surface of his chest, so on one fateful night, some of the Wanderer’s feelings finally slip past his lips. You had set up a campsite for the night, the calm fire that gurgled and popped emitting a kind warmth and light that perfectly reflected off your features—you looked really pretty right now, you always did. These thoughts regularly came to Wanderer’s mind, and he used to adamantly push them away, but he’s long accepted this horrible thing called ‘affection’— so these bubbling thoughts continued to drift and be pondered upon his mind.

“…You’re pretty.” he whispers

He watches you perk your head, turning to the man with wide-eyes from where he sat a reasonable distance away from you. “Huh?”

Wanderer scoffed, repeating himself louder this time “I said—you’re pretty.”

You paused, lips parted but the words fell dead on your tongue. He narrowed his eyes at you, he wasn’t gonna confess, not today, but he’s sick of seeing that dumb look on your face all the time.

“…Thank you?” he only grimaced more at your usual response.

“You know what I mean when I say that, right?”

You shook your head “Not really, but I’m glad that you don’t hate me as much as you used to.”

Now it was his turn to pause, that same dumbfounded look now on his face. Since when did you think he hated you? “Idiot, who said I hated you? I’m the same level as an omnipotent god, I could have discarded you a long time ago… and besides…”

“Besides what?”

The Wanderer bit his lip, why is he hesitating? Is he scared? No, no, that can’t be, you’re just a lowly human, is all, a beautifully wonderful human… “You’re, well, not horrible to talk to, and even if you act stupid sometimes I—

thanks for the request <3 ! i really liked this idea bcs im sort of short as well (5'2) *sobs* anyways, i decided to go with altare, axel, bettel and hakka since i'm not confident in writing for all of them yet (sorry!!) but i hope you liked this!

holotempus boys with a short! gn reader

characters: regis altare, axel syrios, gavis bettel, banzoin hakka

warnings: gender neutral reader, ooc, mentions of pet names (baby, babe, love), mild cursing, mentions of insecurity, nothing else just mostly teasing and fluff! (i did not proofread this (my bad) but lmk in case of errors.

regis altare

let's be real. the guy definitely feels a sense of pride knowing that there's someone shorter than him sksksks (since he's the shortest in hq)

he is the definition of a devil in disguise (affectionate) bcs mans will mess with you at any moment he gets despite having that soft smile on his face

he loves knowing that you rely on him esp if there's stuff you can't reach.

"what're you doing, babe? can't reach?". towers over you from behind to get whatever you're tryna reach.

if you're insecure with your height, altare would probably not mess with you as much bcs he wants you to be happy! for him, height doesn't really matter as long as the both of you are happy.

if you're just a little gremlin, expect having small silly banters with him that ends up becoming happy cuddles at the end of the day. let's just say teasing each other is your love language.

jokes aside, i think altare is the best person to be around with, mainly bcs he's attentive and focuses on your wellbeing most of the time.

imagine being in a crowd and separated from him, he would still be able to find you, ofc he would, he's just that good.

overall, altare's just being silly but definitely thinks you're cute to tease, and he uses that to his advantage.

axel syrios

menace. absolute menace.

he likes the feeling of being reliable, so he'd definitely purposely with full on intention place stuff on the highest spot so that you would have to come to him for help.

imagine his smug face when you come to him asking to get the plates placed on the highest shelf and as soon as you turn around, he silently fistbumps as a sign of victory. (he's goofy i just know it)

definitely extra protective of you, thinks you're really precious and he's like a bodyguard for some reason.

the type to always have his hand around your waist ueueueue.

if you're a little self conscious with your height, i expect axel to be really good with reassurance. he's playful, yeah, but he definitely cares more about you.

"no, baby! i think you're absolutely adorable and perfect the way you are!!", he would say this while cupping both your cheeks so you'd look him straight in the eye.

he's a hugger, so expect cuddle sessions almost 25/8.

he could be gaming and would suddenly ask you to sit on his lap or something bcs he just likes the warmth.

again, height isn't an issue for him, in fact, he finds it endearing with the height difference.

as long as you love him and he loves you, he would protect you at all costs (with a lot of teasing).

gavis bettel

pretty similar to axel, bettel definitely is big on teasing.

but his teasing are quick to follow with affection afterwards. definitely the type who jokes and then says sorry afterwards.

one time, he saw you sitting on his gaming chair while he went to grab some water and he noticed how your legs dangle slightly from how high he had his chair on. never told you this but that image of you is always on his mind, and he may or may not have snapped a picture, saved it in his phone, probably under an album filled with other pictures of you.

phantom reminds him so much of you bcs of how small he is, in a good way ofc. definitely pesters phantom abt it too.

if you're the type who would react to his antics (like get mad at him (jokingly) when he messes around), bettel sees that as an encouragement for him to mess around more.

big spoon in bed for sure. the type that intertwines his legs with yours under the cover so that you're pretty much trapped under his larger build.

i headcannon that bettel is shy with pda but does stuff that indicates he wants touches!

for example: you're both sitting on the couch, and he would scooch closer to you when he sees you hella focused on whatever show is on the tv and if he thinks you noticed, he would stop. but then, he'd do it again and again until you get the hint and just lay your head on his shoulder. (mission accomplished, he thinks)

he probably doesn't realise this, but he's considerate of you. the type who would bend slightly when he kisses you without thinking bcs it's just something that happens.

banzoin hakka

hakka is a sweetheart. i just know so. in fact, i'm sure of it.

probably the opposite of the other three. jokes around but doesn't really do it much.

the type who would place stuff at a level that's reachable for you. (and for him lmfao)

probably doesn't mind about height because he's short too (his words, not mine).

still likes being the bigger spoon. one time, he was the small spoon and it was too much for him, he couldn't handle it. (weak to receiving affection).

definitely a giver. gives plenty of affection to you throughout the day that when you reward him with a little peck on the cheek, he gets all flustered and stumbles on his words (nerd.)

he's your protector. the type that would cover your head when you bend down to grab something, or would walk on the side of the road.

hakka heard you complaining abt your height one time and went full on nagging mode skksksks. doesn't like hearing you fret about your height because he thinks you're perfect!

"love, height shouldn't even be an issue because it's just height. i'd rather have you as you are bcs you're my y/n". he's so cute i can't.

lowkey feels like he would pat your butt sometimes, idk why this just popped up in my head but he does it whenever you start mumbling abt being short.

grian was terrified of showing scar his watcher form. watchers as a whole are… pretty feared by players. and some even hate them. and grian wasn’t grian anymore. he was something else, made to be something else. he was scared scar’s opinion of him would change, or scar would be scared, or leave, etc etc

but scar is asking to see him, because this is just another version of grian that he gets to know, now. and he wants to know him. he wants to adore every faucet of him. and eventually grian cracks, shows scar his watch form

two wings become six, eyes in the feathers, grian’s eyes close and his voice rings in scar’s head

and scar falls in love with him all over again. he holds grian’s face in his hands and kisses every inch of him, wiping away grian’s fears and anxiety over time

I just imagine when how everything is a new experience for them, so they get all excited about trying food.

Xiao gave up on trying to keep their hair styled, because somehow it always ends up messy.

Little devil learning cold and warm weather. Nice cups of tea and hot chocolate during those cold seasons.

Okay so I baby sit my cousins sometimes. So imagine traveler or someone babysitting little devil, when Zhongli/Xiao goes to pick them up, little devil is just clinging onto the babysitter with a pout. They refuse to let go because they like the new person too much
