Crookedstar: Crookedstar is a trans woman to me. Her life is genuinely just so tragic and fucked, I love it. The erins asked: “How much truama, death and misfortune can you fit into a single cat?” and then they wrote Crookedstar’s promise.

Tawnypelt: GIRLS WHO HATE THEIR FATHERS. The erins dont love her like I do.

Tallstar: I love old men… I fucking love seeing older characters and how much they’ve changed from their younger selves. Tallstar is considered one of, if not the most peaceful leader in the clans. But also when he was like 19 he went on a quest to fucking murder a guy :3

Cloudstar: I rlly do not care abt anyone in Skyclan(I like Leafstar but she's not a fav yknow?) Cloudstar... he was based as fuck. Why did Starclan get away with this shit for real??

She’s shown to be very compassionate and willing to put her own feelings aside for the sake of others. Would’ve honestly prefered her as a mate to Lionblaze or get a pov herself over the nothing we got.

Blackstar: *Murders an elderly woman trying to stop me from kidnapping children. Supports a dictator openly abusing/neglecting children and the elderly. Murders a man for refusing to kill mixed raced children- then tells said man’s sister that she will never be safe.* Man…. i sure do feel bad for abusing and killing all of those people…. Good thing I will face no consequences and proceed to be made leader, where I will have even more power over the wellbeing of others.

They’ve always thought of eachother since but never met again.

Tigerclaw: My name sake<3 The angst of his earlier life is so, so facinating to me. Starclan being straight fucked up and decided killing him is their only option? He was a kid and they saw him as a lost cause from the start. They never tried any other methods, never tried to steer him in the right direction or… even just take it into their own hands and kill him themself, which they have SHOWN they’re capable of.

They watched all the the horrific crimes he commited, entirely aware they were going to happen. Thats. Fucking. Horrifying. Starclan is scary as shit… and his death? FANTASTIC. I only wish he’d gotten lives from cats he killed so that him coming back to life to suffer over and over was an actual curse from Starclan and not blessings. They knew how he would die and they gave him the lives to torture him for his sins…

Flywhisker: Adhd girlies. Painfully relate to that feeling of the constant scolding for never being “good enough” because I prefer to do things a certain way or struggle to focus. So, SO happy for her when she left the clans! You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone! Hope she’s happy and warm indoors with her brother💕

Bluestar: Get behind me women with mental disorders. I will defend you. Beautifully complex and tragic character, my favorite written in the series. Literally can't think of a single other female character in handled as seriously and with the complexity of Bluestar. (Although her super edition was a bit of an L with how others treated her, it ultimately makes her breakdown even more painful.)

Leopardstar: As a kid I hated her and loved Blackfoot, now I hate Blackfoot and love her. #feminism. But seriously I think she has way more going for her than he ever has. Her father is a medicine cat who hates violence, the DRASTIC change in Riverclan's view of outsiders upon Crookedstar's death and her leadership. Her already having a position of power before proving she's unworthy of it. (Unlike Blackstar who gets rewarded for his racism and violence by being made leader afterwards) and the fact she has to interact with her victims on a daily basis after what she did.

The writings attempts to redeem her are really lame and dismissive of the actually damage she did, but at the very least they TRIED to do something else with her. Personally, I would have loved to see her assassinated by Mistyfoot. Just like her mother Bluestar was almost killed all those moons ago by Tigerclaw... The parallels of violence for power and violence for peace. A victim repeating the actions of the very man who killed her brother to put an end to what he started in Riverclan.... A shadow in Riverclan, if you will. (<-Pretending erin hunter has hired me to rewrite their series)

Windclan: Tunneling as a concept and inviting outsiders into their clan so friendly and casual makes the clan seems so much more diverse than the others. It always stuck out to me!

Yeah, I mean, that maybe is it, since it happened around the shirakurogiri arc, but I honestly don't know if Horikoshi thinks that deeply about his characters.

I will be happy if it's eventually addressed and he can be a good character again, but I kinda doubt it will? It's not him as a character I have a problem with it's the writing it just feels . bad.

I also don't know if Midnight's death will actually ever be addressed in any meaningful capacity. There was no reason for her to die except for a moment of shock value.

My solution for all of this is make the Loudspeaker AU canon.

Can you imagine if Syrus' friends are just as confused as the audience regarding the fact that Syrus never snapped or became evil?

Imagine them being like, "Are you sure you don't want to go apeshit now?" quite a lot of times and Syrus always shrugging like, "Nah, not right now."

Even Zane would be a bit on the edge by the time Syrus is in charge of his recovery.

Honestly Syrus had every right to snap at some point over Zane's treatment of him. Zane treated him so bad for so long that he suffers debilitating anxiety and extremely low self-esteem and self worth. But he never held a single thing against Zane. Honestly no one did for more than a single episode for the purpose of the episodic narrative.

Syrus looks up to Zane so much that he believes everything Zane says about him is right and that he has every right to treat him as poorly as he does. He adores his brother, he loves him and idolizes him and tries so hard to make him proud and after meeting Jaden and start to gain a little more confidence and learn to believe in himself, try to prove Zane wrong.

But no matter what people still see him as being in Zane's shadow. They tackle that in episode 4 season 2: "Sad But Truesdale" one of my favorite episodes btw lol which is really the only time we see him even remotely snap or get confrontational and stand up for himself, or at least it's the first time we see that.

But the thing is, at that point he and Zane have.... sort of made amends, namely Zane telling Sy he proved him wrong about saying Sy didn't belong at Duel Academy and saying he loves him before sacrificing himself to protect him from Camula back in episode 32, but being in season 2, Zane is about to go dark himself. which therein lies the reignited of the big issue.

Because after all of that progress they made, when Zane goes dark he reverts back to not caring about Syrus but even worse than before. Even back in season 1 they try to give you hints that he might actually care about Syrus a little bit not that I believe it for a second, but now he truly doesn't care at all. Not just not caring about Syrus but not caring about anyone. But it really comes to a head in episode 95, when Syrus duels Zane to try and remind him of who he used to be, but also to prove to Zane that he's strong enough to face him and strong enough to be a true duelist. Which only serves to land him in the hospital with Zane just writing him off as weak and just as worthless and weak as he had always said he was before. Just pure emotional whiplash for Sy to deal with after the progress they started making in season 1. I literally wrote an entire one shot about it that episode fucks me up so much and makes me so mad and upset But then there's even more whiplash in season 3 because Zane comes back and protects him in Dark World and helps him work through his conflicting feelings about Jaden, and then after basically bestowing Sy unto Jay:

"You can’t leave Syrus! 😢 He needs a big brother! 😭"

"He's got one. 😌"

LITERALLY SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP EVERYWHERE STOP I CAN'T

and telling Syrus he's proud of him he says literally nothing to Sy in the sub and I hate that just dies right in front of him.

Boom. More trauma.

And then they back pedal on his death and he's alive again in season 4 and Sy dedicates so much time and effort and attention and love hinto being his caretaker. When he has every right not to. Syrus is too good to be Zane's brother. Zane doesn't deserve him.

I know I've been blabbing on here and, but listen Sy's my favorite ever I have a lot to say akaksk 😂 Syrus had every right to snap at some point, that's my whole point, and the whole point of this whole ask I'm sorry for the whole dissertation happening here akksksk

Syrus needed to have his

Moment at some point. He deserved to get frustrated with Zane, to hold him accountable for everything he said and did to him. I hate that no one ever held anything against Zane and just gave him a pass for his abusive behavior. Syrus can if he wants to, that's his right and his choice but the others shouldn't have allowed it to continue happening and not call him out on it more than the one time Jay did in episode 8 and then just dropped it.

I know if I were his friend I would be very surprised he hadn't snapped ever. I think they all should be surprised, but also at the same time it's just not the type of person Sy is. He gets into arguments and is confrontational with people sometimes it's Hassleberry 9 times out of 10 lol but generally speaking he's very timid and is just content with his situation because Zane has beaten him down so much over the years. If anything they would be more surprised if he did snap or go dark, but I think if he did it would open their eyes to how they contributed to the problem by not actually holding Zane accountable for his actions.

But for the sake of this scenario, I think they might even encourage him to just let loose because holding all that stuff in isn't healthy, but he'd say no even though he definitely would want to deep down.

A real:

Kind of moment if you will. That's what they'd be trying to get him to do, but Syrus not allowing himself to let those feelings out and just having them pile up and fester while putting on the facade that he's okay and isn't angry about everything Zane put him through... yeah I think everyone should be worried and surprised that he hasn't snapped at that point and Zane should be very nervous about Sy taking the role as his caretaker. Because when he finally does snap? All I can say is yikes and good luck because when he finally does allow himself to snap in this scenario I think he would reach a really low spot because he's already there. He would just sink even lower.

They're gonna need all hands on deck to bring him back from that eruption of emotion and pain. Because letting the floodgates open to release that much hurt, I can tell you, not for the same reasons but from being hurt by people before, it's extremely difficult to close those gates again.

And one last point to that end, you know who I think would be integral to saving Sy from that? Chazz. Because he also has horrible and intense older sibling trauma and pain that he's trying to heal from himself, and it's not even all that different from his in some ways. He can understand Syrus's feelings better than anyone, and really sympathize with him and having someone who can even remotely understand his hurt would help Sy so much when he finally does snap. It would be double special too because they never really mixed all that well, but as shitty of a thing to relate to is, this they have in common. And I'd love to see them not like... trauma bond, but trauma bond if you know what I mean aksksk like kinda actually be friends. Because Jaden loves his bestie, but he and the others could only help so much because they know what he's been through, but don't really understand.

Let's talk about Andorian foods!

Without at doubt, one of the most enjoyable things about creating Émigré has been creating Andorian foods. We know so much about Vulcan and Klingon food, but Andorians are horribly overlooked beyond a few basic descriptions of beetles, blue meat, and a kind of flatbread. That's like, a meal. Tops. Even if you include drinks, which are ice-tea, hot coffee, and booze, you're not really moving beyond a single meal's worth of food types. And here's the thing - food is a central point in almost every culture there is. How we prepare food, what we consider food, how we present and share it, when and where and with what utensils - all of that is a huge part of most cultures. We have foods that are only eaten on special days, or only for certain meals. We have foods that have special meanings when given as gifts, and things that are traditional to give as part of social customs around weddings and funerals. We have comfort food, junk food, traditional food, fusion food, I'm-too-tired-to-cook food, and so many more kinds. We have entire branches of culinary expertise dedicated to JUST sweet foods. We have specialists who brew, pickle, and blend. We have random folks who make their own mead, or brew their own beer or wine. We have dozens of different kinds of salt for different kinds of finishing touches, for goodness' sake!

So yeah. I have a problem with the whole Andorians-only-eat-like-four-things-maybe approach. It's lazy. I hate lazy writing. So let's talk about some of my ideas, maybe? If anyone's still reading? (hello?)

Andorians are group-oriented people who put their society and their clans before themselves. Group meals therefore feels like a natural continuation of this trend, things like hotpots and fondues, and those fun little sushi bars where the tasty things go 'round and round on a little belt and you just pick up what you like and try not to fuck it up and fumble some painstakingly assembled sushi in front of the guy who made it.

One of the first ideas I came up with following this logic was the idea of a multi-layer lazy-Susan kind of dining table, with concentric rings that allowed for people to rotate each ring independently to pass around different bowls and plates of food, which a central spot for a pot of hot oil to cook your selections with. The utensils by necessity would have to be long-necked and pronged to spear food effectively and not lose their tasty bounty to the boiling oil. The seating around this table would be low, with cushions on the ground in an inset kind of pit in the floor because my Andorians are big on cuddles and sharing warmth. They're a social species, after all, and their home planet is far from a picnic - sharing is surviving.

Let's move onto other kinds of meals! Some of the canon lore indicates that Andorians eat a kind of flatbread and shredded meat, but very little in the way of dairy. So, from that we can conclude that they have at least some kind of flour. From there we can suppose that if they have a basic type of flour they might also have baking beyond flatbreads, even if they don't go in for fluffy yeast-based breads. That leaves quite a few options, really, but I liked the idea of their flour stemming from a starchy tuber like taro-root, or even potato-like spuds. Fried potato flat-bread sounds pretty great, right?

Now for the meats! Andorians are omnivores with a heavy carnivorous leaning, to my mind, because protein gives us the most bang per buck out of the basic food groups. Meat by itself is a solid food choice, but it gets boring after a while so we, and presumably Andorians as well, come of with different ways to dress it up and make it taste different. Salt would be abundant given the expansive oceans on Andoria and in the lore salty things register as spicy to Andorians, so that's practically a new lease on life food-wise! From there, sauces and marinades are a natural evolution, and I really like the idea that each keth has their own unique recipes that they hoard like gourmet dragons. No one knows what all goes into Clan Tha'an's mustard sauce, but by the Spirits is it good! Still, they can't afford to be too reliant on meat as a food source. Andoria is, as we've discussed, a harsh planet. Hunting for meat is a viable survival strategy, especially in large groups, but hunts fall through or go badly. When that happens, it's imperative that a population has something else to live off of: in this case, tubers! Savoury tubers, sweet tubers, starchy tubers, stringy tubers, every kind of tuber! Tubers are quite a resilient kind of plant and they can grow most places as long as the conditions are mostly right. Deep underground, away from the freezing surface temperatures, tubers would grow quite well - especially near a hotspring!

So, we've got tubers, we've got flour, we've got meat - and you know what, if we've got tubers that means we've got space sweet potatoes. Space sweet potatoes could be refined into a kind of sugar substitute! And that means we have BAKING.

After realizing that, I remembered finding a word in an Andorian-English dictionary which references an endearment and also a sweet treat: shev'tak. Quite a troublesome word, if you've read Émigré!

Humans call each other food-related endearments all the time; honey-bun, sweetie-pie, sugar-boo, dumpling, etc. Why not Andorians too, right? But Andoria is a very harsh planet, and things like sugary treats would be quite unusual, and probably very expensive to grow the base materials for and then refine. Given that their diet is probably heavily meat- and tuber-based, given their biology and the conditions of their homeworld, sugary treats would be a very rare, special-occasion-only thing for the majority of their history. They'd probably end up being made in very small portions, too. When I initially thought about shev'tak, I was tempted to make it some kind of sweet bun, but that seemed a little too boring when I sat down to actually describe them. Eventually, I hit upon the idea of these impossibly delicate little pastries, folded in on themselves and shaped like sixteen-pointed stars (or other multiples of four, which is deeply symbolic in Andorian culture) and filled with a creamy custard. Something plausible and demonstrating the artistry for which Andorians are known, but nothing excessively complicated in terms of ingredients. All the work goes into the presentation, and as a gift shev'tak would be a sign of regard at the least and certainly of affection. It would be the equivalent of a fancy box of chocolates, if each chocolate was hand-made specially for you. In the modern era, much of the craftmanship would be subsidized by advanced machinery and more efficient techniques, much like today on our world, but there would still be a strong association of luxury, of hand-made sweets on a frozen ice planet where very little grows and none of it above ground.

And being called shev'tak, in light of that, may be a little more than just an endearment, I think. It's being called something special, something worth burning time and resources for. Precious, even.

But, of course, Andorians are very stoic. They leave a lot of their social norms unsaid, and trust that these things are simply understood. Even when they aren't.

before i pass out for the night. since my brain is back on dan and phil as if its 2016 or something i need to put this out into the world. this isnt some sort of important life changing post, just a personal funny thing

so when i was 13 and fixating on dan and phil, i read a lot of fanfics. like, i guarantee that even after all these years that, if i had the statistics, that fandom was the one i read the most fanfics for and constantly. i couldnt tell you what nearly any of them were about, and i have a feeling that many of them are probably lost to time by now. i also dont know if i need to mention that yeah, a lot of them were shipping, and yes ive long grown out of that. (the dnp fandom is actually what made me grow out of that)

anyway all this to say that over the last 6 years after i stopped fixating on dan and phil, one fanfic stuck with me and i just. i think about it every once in a while. its been over half a decade. it wasnt a groundbreaking fic, i dont remember any quotes or specifics, just the premise as of at least the first few chapters. idk why it stuck with me

it was literally a fic about. if the world had gotten to a point where almost every child was born as like, a science baby instead of a natural baby, and phil was a science baby, but dan was a natural baby. and there was somehow this like, thing where the science babies would bully the natural babies for some reason idek, and this was a highschool setting and i think dan was a new kid in school. and what gets me about the fic is that dan was some small shy scared kid and phil was some mean jerk bully. and how wild that is compared to how they are in real life

this isnt me trying to find the fic or the person who wrote it or any of that, this is literally just. i remember this fic at least once every few months and i needed to get it out of my brain somewhere

perhaps im being a luddite but all this AR VR immersive reality stuff is... kind of frightening? i know there's a lot of really good benefits to it when it comes to disability and such so it's a complex thing but man. i already feel i have too much screen in my life as is and the idea of making it even *more* immersive and having to Enter it to partake in it just... ugh

addressing this fear was a huge part of what people were talking about in this space - there was an entire talk dedicated specifically to avoiding a "HYPER-REALITY"-esque future, and also for making sure people still have privacy, bodily autonomy, and free control over HOW exactly they want to interact with this new tech

the idea is that the ever-increasing amounts of screen time demanded of us are bad, and that we need to find a better way to interact with the digital world as it continues to expand... because, well....... it sure is continuing to expand.

the idealized dream I'm seeing from the 'metaverse' people is that everyone wants it to be........ an easier way of accessing digital information? a way of bringing it more seamlessly out of our screens, so that we spend less time in front of them and more time interacting with the world?

one example I saw was a minimalist AR display of a cookie recipe that made measurements hover over their related ingredients, so that you spend less time looking at a recipe on your phone and more time actually cooking. another is an example of, instead of Zoom meetings where everyone is stuck at their computers for hours, you meet in a virtual space where you can stand up, walk around, and share (virtual) things with each other by actually handing them to someone instead of using a mouse and keyboard

at the end of the day I have no idea how any of this will shake out in practice - I'm just a concept artist who's suddenly found themselves designing for these virtual worlds - but you're not wrong.

if history tells us anything it's that advertisements and corporations WILL find ways to make things worse, and that the information super highway will still have huge problems with misinfo and right-wing radicalization - BUT...... despite everything, it's still an absolute wonder that we can walk around carrying the entirety of all the world's knowledge and connection to other human beings inside our pocket. we're just still working out the kinks around the fact that our brains aren't built to process all that information at once.

ultimately, for better and worse, technology marches forward... and it's up to us as individuals to figure out the best ways to use it for good, and to protect ourselves from its negative aspects

Any Director’s Commentary for A Brother’s Love - Guidance? Any deleted scenes or bonus content, if you will 🤣

Haha awww, if I had deleted scenes, I would 100% hand them over to you 💜 What I can offer is a deeper dive into that moment with Gregory and how I imagine Anthony moved on from there.

As mentioned, it was hard to craft really meaningful moments for Ben to have with G & H because they are literal babies, so at some point my mind turned toward, ok, we can weave this into an opportunity for him to help the remaining two members of his family who are suffering, which of course are Anthony and Violet. Props to JB who allegedly came up with the idea for the Anthony + Gregory scene in S2, because that gave me my groundwork. Anthony fully embraces being a father figure to G + H by the time of the books/show, but his understanding of that role had to start somewhere.

During the picnic, Ben sees Gregory crying, knows he can't be comforted by his mother right now, but also sinks realizing he has no father to turn to either. Then he looks over and sees Anthony there. Gregory sees him too, and it naturally/cosmically aligns (however you want to think about it) that B realizes Anthony must father these two youngest siblings. Yes, it's one more thing to heap on his shoulders, but it can be a role Anthony is happy to embrace because it is one full of love where he can grow his sense of confidence and self worth as he protects and guides the littlest Bridgertons who will never resent him or compare him to Edmund like the others might.

I wrote this before I learned that S2 had shot a scene where Violet puts newborn Hyacinth in Anthony's arms and he has this traumatic dawning realization that he is brother-dad now. I'm glad that was cut because it is very heavy-handed. This is my alternate take on that concept, that hopefully is more subtle and is also led by the child himself, rather than by Violet placing literal responsibility in Anthony's hands. Gregory doesn't know where Edmund went, but he knows he feels safe with Anthony, so he reaches out to him when he's distressed. Ben hands him over, signaling gently to Anthony that he will play an even more significant role in this brother's life than for the rest of them. And though he is stunned at first, when Anthony sees little Gregory melt into him with so much trust and love, his heart is warmed. If there is any silver lining to be found in this tragedy, it may be the closeness of the bonds A will form with G & H and how much he will learn about fatherhood to prepare for his own family one day. I doubt any of his other siblings were leaning into him with pure, uncomplicated love during those days, but the two little ones would, and it broke through the gloom for him and allowed him to smile.

After the picnic, Anthony would have felt both more motivated to do his duties well so that he could provide for his littlest siblings, and also more confident that he would succeed, because Gregory made him feel that trust. He would feel a new sense of urgency to adjust to his role because he realized he wasn't just Viscount, landowner and ultimate authority in the family, he was a father too, and that would give him pride and fulfillment while he took on so many new responsibilities. This was how Ben guided Gregory to Anthony, and Anthony to the light.

I will also say that I have a new WIP idea for Anthony to kind of mirror this series: moments between Anthony and each of his siblings before all of their weddings. It will take forever bc I need to finish reading all the books, but I've realized it will be a nice companion series to this.

So, I’ll go with my ”Was Born To Lead” babies plus Fausto, and what comes to the Lachian ones, we can discuss it later together :3

Fausto.

Fausto is a violinist, so most of his time he dedicates to playing violin and composing his own melodies (and sharing them with his family and friends!). He’s also into sailing and exploring, so he spends lots of his time outside, looking around and learning something new. When he just wants to spend time alone, he loves the horse walks, somewhere in nature.

And also, even though Fausto is a musician, he’s not a good singer or dancer. He’s a composer and player.

Ángel.

When Ángel was very little, he didn’t really have any hobbies, maybe excluding cooking, because this is one of the things his father always loved, so it was the way for them to spend more time together. However, the older he’s getting, the more he’s like a Jack-of-all-trades, because he just wants to learn doing different things.

Anyway, his hobbies for now are cooking, fencing, crochet, and acting (he’s not an actual actor, but whenever he gets to read out loud in the classroom, he’s hooked. Plus, he loves puppet shows :3). Ángel is also a very sociable person, so he loves spending time with his friends (I’m sure Gabe and Frida are not his only ones, but at this point, I’m just too lazy to create new characters who aren’t related to Gabe :’) Although he will have a big group of friends, sharing the same passion with him, but shhh it’s a spoiler) and family (especially his father, because, really, they love each other too much) doing literally anything, even just talking, because Ángel always has a lot to tell <3

And Ángel has a dog, so a big part of his day is spent in playing and jogging with Nube :3

Frida.

Okay, I swear drawing is not Frida’s only hobby. She also loves designing, which doesn’t apply to fashion design only, but also to an interior, because Frida has a good sense of aesthetics and wants everything around her look pretty, which she does. So, crafting, drawing, painting - this all goes for her. Plus, I kinda want her to love plants, so maybe she also like floristics, but I’m not sure how to include it yet x)

Anyway, she doesn’t spend all of her time home, so visiting galleries and exhibitions is also what she enjoys <3

And also microbiology! She doesn’t do it anymore, but I think of continuing it, so I just need to think how :’)

Valerio.

He’s a history man, sooo x) Anyway, to be serious, history is actually something he enjoys in all of its aspects, maybe excluding military, because it just never was interesting to him. Sure, he’s well versed in this topic, but this is not something he wants to study deeper.

I don’t know if it even may be considered as a hobby, but studying the archival records, which allows him to know history beyond the limited school program (plus, he actually traveled a lot, which allowed him to study the foreign materials as well and, you know, it made him think, but no spoilers) is definitely something he does to spend his time. And he also enjoys visiting history museums, because for him history never was just a boring subject with the countless dates to remember, he loves artifacts and is fascinated by them <3

Also, not mentioned in the fic yet, but Valerio is a painter! He always preferred painting to drawing and loves making paintings for his friends <3 (he had much more friends when he was younger, but now the only person he’s actually friends with is Matías (sure, he still interacts with the people from the museum where he used to work, but he’s not close close with them; plus, there actually one more person Valerio knew from his young age and still interacts with, but you’ll see her later~), because he’s wary of getting too close to anyone for his personal obvious reasons)

Although he actually enjoys corporate parties in his school and never misses an opportunity to visit them, because outgoing is literally the core trait of him and he always loved people, even though he’s much more secretive now.

And he’s also a chess player! He doesn’t really have anyone to play with now, but when he was younger, nobody could escape from him rambling about it (anyway, an important thing about Valerio is that he enjoys studying theoretical material of everything he’s interested in and digging deep into it to understand how it works. He’s a huge thinker and is sure that everything has a meaning behind itself. Anyway, this is what I want him to be, maybe it’s not noticeable in the fic lmao)

When he was younger, he also loved sailing and basically everything related to the sea. Plus, Matías tried to get him into horse riding, but it turned out not to be Valerio’s thing :’) And he also had a shared passion with Leticia, his wife, which is basically the reason why he leaves Avalor City every year in January, and he still knows a lot about it, but he can’t enjoy it anymore.

Matías.

When he’s free from his work, Matías volunteers at the orphanage where he actually spends the majority of his free time. At first, he was providing medical support, since his knowledge and skills are more than more for healing humans as well. But eventually, he was visiting it more and more often, because he’s an orphan himself, although he’s not sentimental, so he’ll never admit that it was one of the reasons for his volunteering.

Anyway, when he gets some time for himself, he loves cooking and pottery, plus he was into horse riding when he was younger, because he always loved horses.

Emilio and Verónica.

Alright, I’ll combine them, because I ended up giving them too many shared hobbies x) (plus, they’re married, so forgive me)

First of all, they both are writers and they kinda complement each other. Emilio is a writer-writer. He has a very rich and figurative speech when it comes to writing and knows how to work with words, which makes it natural to him. Meanwhile, Verónica is more creative with ideas and is generally more organized and uplifting, so whenever Emilio doesn’t feel up for writing, she’s always here to encourage him :3

Verónica is more physically active, and one of her hobbies was rock climbing. She was very passionate about it, which made Emilio love it, too, and together they used to spend a lot of their time in the mountains. However, Verónica can’t do it anymore because of her illness, and they both stopped doing it eventually.

And they’re parents, so they’re always here for their boys :3

The wounds of Eternatus’ wrath was still fresh in Galar. The dynamax energy that continued to surge so prominently throughout the land had brought no small trouble to the people of the region. And there had been the recently ex-champion of the league, the man who was the first to face the raging beasts whose red core overflowed with vicious power. If it had all gone wrong... would there still be a Galar now?

While the majority of the Galarian populace remain out of the loop on what truly happened, the threat that Eternatus wrought no doubt caught the attention of someone else entirely. Or perhaps, something else. Eternatus, a name lost in the recorded history of the people of Ultra Space, thought to have disappeared altogether with the light, now suddenly resurfacing in the world of humans... It attracted the questioning minds of those researchers.

Their knowledge on the situation was limited. They had not been there when Eternatus rose. In fact, they never even considered that Eternatus indeed lived to this day and now resided in the humans’ world. If only they had known sooner, perhaps all the trouble could have been prevented. This was an extremely important case that necessitated the attention of all members of the Ultra Recon Squad. What they could gleam from what was told in Galarian media, the then-Champion of the region, Leon and two young trainers had stopped catastrophe from befalling the land. The URS would seek to meet these trainers.

They had come searching for him, aliens of another dimension. The wounds were still fresh. The attack, the championship, the defeat. What would this meeting bring? How could the man ever know that aliens of all things were looking to speak with him?!

“This is it? Where the human ‘Leon’ resides?”

“No doubt. There are trace signals of energies originating from The Shadowed One.”

The two spoke amongst themselves. Ah, there were two others, but where had they gone? It seems Zossie had wandered off to take enjoyment in watching the trainers and the unique pokemon of Galar, Dulse beside her to make sure she would not be lost. No matter, they would not need to be apart of this meeting, they would be filled on in any crucial details later.
