in your fic you mention how falin has torn doors off their hinges accidentally and now i’m wondering how the others reacted lol 😭
i think she's like. reflexively gentle enough that she wouldn't actually end up breaking anything unless she was really putting her weight into it.
so the first time it happened it was probably when she was helping everyone clear out the castle. she's downstairs in the cellar while everyone's just upstairs poking around. she comes across a rusted door that won't budge on her first try, so she really heaves it and then just
Marcille: Falin?? Is everything okay??
Falin: Everything's fine! [knocks over 20 different dusty barrels and boxes and shit trying to swing the door back into the frame]
Everyone comes downstairs to see her like. Frantically trying to fix it before giving up like a guilty puppy. Reactions are what you'd expect. Marcille is freaking out trying to figure out if this is a symptom of something really bad or some complication with her resurrection. Laios immediately experiences childlike wonder and jealousy and wants to start testing just how strong she is by getting her to break different things. Yaad and Kabru are just kind of like "huh! i hope we don't need that door."
meanwhile Falin's just dying bc "oh shit i broke something aaa" + "marcille is just grabbing me everywhere again and she smells nice" + "this is too much attention"
can we talk about this cursed wretched chicken my mom refuses to get rid of? please im dying to talk about that cursed wretched chicken my mom refuses to get rid of
i think because of pop culture and stuff, we tend to forget that the book is truly victor's story. the story is named after him. it's not "the creature" it's "frankenstein". it is about his life, it's about him. frankenstien is that 19 year old boy who played god and got the consequences in the form of his own creation.
So my local card game shop employees are really fucking good at selling you new card games so I started playing Magic: The Gathering and HOLY FUCK it's fun.
I'm running a white + blue deck. You'd think I'd run a red deck and maybe black but you'd be wrong. White and blue symbolizes everything I wish I were. We're not getting into this.
Anyways. This really cool person (Dakota) taught me how to play and once I got the hang of it they started scrolling on twitter, answering my questions. As we're playing/talking, somehow, the pride themed set(?) came up and each player showed me his most Gay card. Then Dakota whips out their binder to show me THE BEAR CARD. I'm of course like OMG thats AWESOME. I get back to playing with the 3 guys. I end my turn and Dakota briefly taps me on the shoulder and I look at their phone. They're showing me a twitter post. It's a video of someone at pride. They're waving a progress pride flag. With Jerma on it. A horizontal image of Jerma. On the progress pride flag. Like this, kind of [artistic rendition]
And I yelled "JERMA??" and they went "yeah thought you'd like that :]" and I just. Sat there. Like. Yeah. You knew I'd know who Jerma is, somehow. You knew that. How? I don't know. But uh. You knew. Thanks.
so she's got t-cell lymphoma -- at least we have an answer now.
(pet illness / end of life thoughts under the cut)
vet's going to have a consult with the lab oncologist tomorrow to get her staging and prognosis and a suggested treatment plan, but i'm not convinced she's well enough to go through with any of that, and with the way the vet is such a site of stress for her, i don't know if it'd even be humane to go ahead with that.
i'll get more info tomorrow, but i'm pretty resigned to the idea that a dose of steroids (prednisolone) just to give her a bit of relief and then planning for a goodbye is the kindest thing at this stage
I found the cat @jordan-the-pious was struggling with. ^.^ It keeps moving around so I can't get a good picture right now. Very cute though, I think. I'm unsure if the infirmary section of the temple is a good place to keep a pet (on account of the more um... Contagiously ill people there with me) or if it'll even be okay to keep the cat considering that some of the people here have a bit of a discomfort with them ^^;
It seems to have sort of gotten comfortable with me for now though? We're sat in a cloister near the entrance (it's kneading the wool on my leg... It hurts a little, but it's cute...) I have ah... Hm. I haveeee... Important studying of these scrolls to do here. So I can stay here for a while unless the weather turns or it decides to leave, if anybody wants to take this cat off our hands? I would be very happy if I could find a home for it! I can't exactly keep it for long, though, like I said.
I don't know the cat's gender but it's a black cat - a little scruffy, very chatty. Tongue covered in tiny hooks that keep getting stuck on my wool. I think used to humans? Unless it's not counting me as a human. Then all of this fuss about housing it with a human would be terribly embarrassing...
I think it’s really fucking funny how C.G. is actually not super smart. That’s really clever and cute. I gave her glasses anyway. Also it’s crazy that Luís has a Papa Skulls t shirt (reference to Trollhunters). Small world! He’s like “look at my awesome t shirt… also I’m scared of EVERYTHING”. And Emily loves all creatures great and small no matter how weird they look, it’s super sweet. She saw Squibbon and said “AWWWW” which is so cool of her.
