What choosing Edelgard over Rhea feels like after Cindered Shadows.
[Image description: the meme format from the tv show Community. In the first image, a blonde woman makes an irritated expression, the caption underneath reading ‘Byleth: I can excuse digging up my mother’s corpse, but I draw the line at asking me to kill Edelgard!’ In the second image, and older black woman makes a surprised/concerned expression, the caption underneath reading ‘Linhardt: You can excuse digging up your mother’s corpse?!’]

SPOILERS FOR CINDERED SHADOWS DLC
Bonus:
Watched cindered shadows dlc and thought that what if byleth was just like her mom
The hole in her chest is where her heart should be
My personal take with rhea and sitri’s relationship is that Rhea views the vessels as her mother but as time goes by and if the vessels fail to bring her mother back, she lets them live their own lives although disappointed due to not being able to resurrect the goddess, she still has love for the prototype vessels and sees them as her children. I had this thought because of this lines where in Rhea appears to be like a mother grieving in an extreme way
And I was also inspired to draw it by this dead dove dimileth fic

I only recommend if you can stomach or is okay with reading dead dove fic (please be mindful of the tags too since it has some trigger content)

Jeralt: So if your pronouns are they and them, how should I refer to you when I brag about you? My daughter? My son?
Byleth: Mom's just been calling me her kid or her child
Jeralt: I shall call you...my eldest spawn

Facts about Sitri Eisner
Sitri was born frail due to being created as the twelfth vessel created by Rhea to act as a host for the crest of flames. like her predecessors, Sitri could not awaken the crest stone's power leading to her frail health.
Sitri saw Rhea as a mother figure who loved her in return.
Sitri was a nun who lived in the monastery
Due to being frail, she lacked the strength to travel beyond the monastery
The only people Sitri spoke with were a select few within the monastery walls
Sitri is friends with Aelfric an orphan at the monstery whom they grew up together
Jeralt first met Sitri when she was trying really hard to get stains out of a handkerchief when asked if she had another one she blanky said to Jeralt "If I can still use this one, I'd rather not throw it away”.
Jeralt was getting to know her he never saw her laugh or cry.
Sitri who was confined in the monastery walls due to her frail health learning the outside world from Jeralt's stories from the outside is her lifeline contributed to her falling for him.
Sitri would often be in the library reading a book.
Sitri's overall personality is kind, wise, and gentle, and had difficulty expressing her emotions. She had a quiet composure she loved others.
Sitri is a wonderful cook
Sitri loved flowers she especially liked these kinds of flowers because they were nice to look at and calming
When Jeralt gives Sitri her favorite flowers her face lights up.
Sitri showed more emotions around Jeralt.
Sitri's beautiful smile made Jealt happy
Sitri smiled the most when she was pregnant with Byleth
Sitris ring is the only keepsake that Jearlt has of her
Byleth started to inherit most of their mother's appearance and trait
Sitri's maternal feelings were so strong in fact that she begged Rhea to give her crest of flames to her child so her child would live
Sitri's own heart is in Byleth's chest.
Sitris is named after Sitri the 12th demon in the Ars Goetia He causes men to love women and vice versa, and can make people bare themselves naked if desired, a demon associated with love is fitting considering how lovestruck she made Jeralt and Aelfric also this is in line with her role and impact on the two characters. This caused Jearlt to defect from the church and become a mercenary and Alfric distrusted Rhea and his main motives in Cindered shadows
Sitri's name shares the same name as Byleth her child.

It's finals season and I really do need to shift into focus mode, so for my peace of mind I'd like to request a semi-hiatus on both Ayra and Sitri. Thank you!
Ayra and Sitri are on semi-hiatus until December 23rd! Please remember to message the Masterlist once you return. Thank you!

The implications of mermaid Byleth already having minty hair by the start of the story suggests that something happened to make his hair go from teal to light green once.
So, maybe he didn't start out as a mermaid, but as a human baby- and maybe Rhea rescued him from a shipwreck or something and took the double opportunity to try and bring her mother back and save the infant, and the only way to do so was to turn him into a mermaid.
I have to see how that ties into Sitri and Jeralt's romance though. Maybe that shipwreck was Jeralt trying to flee from Rhea to protect his child after Sitri's death ? Maybe Sitri had found a temporary way to be human- she longed for adventure after all. That "unique genetic mix" could explain why Byleth is a stillborn and Sitri died giving birth ??
I dunno, these are just ramblings off the top of my head !^^

13 and 17 for the ask game !!!
Let’s gooo!!! ❤️🦅
13. What’s one thing you'd change about FE3H?
I have only played Crimson Flower, so I might be missing some narrative elements, but the Those Who Slither In The Dark ( TWSITD ) storyline feels a bit rushed to me. I understand that the focus of El’s arc needed to stay on overthrowing the Church, but they are a little bit too forgettable for a cult that is supposed to have started it all.
On an unrelated note, I wish Jeralt had gotten closure regarding the circumstances of Sitri’s death. I don’t necessarily think it would change how he feels about Rhea, but he deserves to know.
17. Which character do you most relate to?
Definitely Edelgard.
I mean, a canonically queer abuse survivor fighting an oppressive system, making some questionable choices along the way due to her self-isolating tendencies, but eventually becoming a better person thanks to the deep bonds she forges with her found family?
How could I not?
