Hello everyone! It's week 4, and our second 'in-between' week, of our re-run through the Class Ongoing story so far! If you haven't checked it out already, you can find our last episode re-release from last week here.
Today we're resharing our third side-story, Leaving Bannerman Road, written by @intuitive-revelations, with cover art by @liria10.
After a surprise appearance from Sky Smith in Episode One: Fallen Soul, we go back to Bannerman Road, five years after the events of the Sarah Jane Adventures: Series 5, to find out what she's doing here in Coal Hill. Available here.
We also have the second installment of our new tie-in, The Lost Diary Entries of a Rhodian Prince, written as collab between @intuitive-revelations (who also illustrated), @avariciousambitions (who wrote this entry), and @bazwillendinflames. This time, Charlie writes about the events of Call of the Void, and their impact on Matteusz and himself.
As a reminder, The Lost Diary Entries of a Rhodian Prince is meant to double as a spoiler-filled recap of each episode from Charlie's perspective, so do not read if you're in the middle of reading that story, or planning to do so.
Please also be aware that Call of the Void and this entry directly discussing those events each contain mentions/depictions of attempted suicide. Please proceed with caution if these themes are at all damaging or distressing.
A text version is available here, at the same link as previously, PDF now updated to include Part 2.
Just looked it up- Clyde's actor, Daniel Anthony, was 20 when he started playing Clyde. By the end, he would have been about 24/25, playing a 16/17 year old. Rani, who was the same age as Clyde, her actor was 21 when Sky was introduced. Which is perfectly usual, you often have young adults playing teens, since child actors have a lot more regulations and school and stuff. It's just such a shock on-screen to be introduced then to Sky, who's actor Sinhead Micheal was 13 when she started playing 12-year-old Sky! After getting used to seeing Clyde and Rani as teens, Sky seems like 7 in comparison lol
i think we should have more of sky imprinting on clyde cos while sarah jane is the first person she remembers, he was the primary caregiver for most of her. very short infancy
Honestly I feel the characters could be swapped if you think about it
——-
Basically Luke’s trying to find his dad cause Sarah Jane won’t say anything about him and he ends up finding his mums diary that she kept when she was pregnant with him (Luke is Sarah’s biological son in this I guess)
So him, clyde, rani and maria start to gush over the diary and shit
Luke tells his friends he’s invited his dads to his wedding and they go nuts
Much to the surprise of Sarah Jane who’s working her ass of with the hotel and the wedding, then goes absolutely nuts when she sees her exes on the island after all these years
So along with her friends Jo and Gita they try to get them off the island but chaos ensues and shit hits the fan
The men recuperate on johns boat, Luke comes to find them and gets to know them
Then luke passes out at the stag do when his three potential fathers all tell him that their his actual father
Luke then is like i don’t need to get married I just want to explore the world with Sanjay and idc who the fuck is my dad I’m glad I have three instead
Then John gets on one knee to propose to Sarah Jane who is utterly fuming at this point but she says yes anyway because why not
————-
Basically it’s doctor who with mama Mia and abba themed shenanigans happen and everyone is happy in the end
This was an early pencil test for Spies In Disguise before we cast Tom Holland, visualizing how well his design worked with the voice. I kinda' liked the funky hairdo of the old design, especially in profile.
