So... the artist might've been reading/watching a lot of Dungeon Meshi lately.
Still, the question remains! If Softboy were to imagine himself as Laois Dungeonmeshi, which form would be the best for this purpose? On the one hand, the left form is the most like our lovely little guy. On the other hand, the right form allows Softboy to properly embody Laois's nature of being the party's big ol' tank.
By the way, this post doesn't necessarily mean that I'm certain Softboy would play Laois in a Chrisville casting of the story. I just think this idea is fun and cute.

At the risk of sounding selfish for wanting the blood prompt done with one of my characters: blood-covered hands (or forearms, either actual forearms or swords-hands) a la lady macbeth for Dirk in his anthro form, please :3

Damn your eyes! I'm tired of this game!

I just participated in a super fun art challenge with @gaymarriedinspace and @chiropteracupola! Our theme was “Softboy Meets Something I Love.” We’re posting our own parts of the challenge individually before the finished pieces (and their previous sketches and lineart) are posted on the Softboy blog this upcoming Saturday.
First pic: My own sketch
Second pic: @gaymarriedinspace‘s sketch and my lineart
Third pic: @chiropteracupola‘s sketch, @gaymarriedinspace‘s lineart, and my colors
Many thanks again to my incredibly talented art friends! This was a blast, and a cool insight into how we all work as artists.

So, I’ll be getting a therapist to talk about my depression. Thank you to anyone who sent kind words. In a BPD moment of anger and stupidity, I deleted the only other ‘Main’ blog I have on here without thinking. I no longer have the energy to make a new one and start again. So as this will be my actual main, a few minor changes that I will update later to my pinned post.
When I have the time/energy to be more active, I will be using the tag Fandom Friday to post anything I want, unrelated to Deltarune or Undertale. If I make up with a friend of mine, Saturday will be something tagged as Softboy Saturday, where I can share his stuff. He runs a little blog called @softboy-pillowman and I genuinely believe he needs to be seen by more people. The rest of the week will be nothing but my regular blog stuff. Please feel free to blacklist these tags if you are uninterested.
I may also start posting more about commission stuff as well. Thank you for understanding!

Guess sometimes beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, huh? Haha, heh...
... this is also me venting about how hard it can be to draw BB's eyes without making them look a bit scary.
Hopefully no one minds the sketchy style! It was the only way I could get this comic out on time so that it was still relevant to the indie video game chapter that inspired it.

Yeahhhh I might've not had time to draw much this week. So here's a sketch of Softboy cosplaying as Caine from The Amazing Digital Circus!

My my, how time flies. Happy anniversary to this blog's special Leap Day birthday! Softboy and his friends are all so proud to have made it this far, and to have entertained the internet for 4 years.
But you know, time moves very differently in Softboy's world. Outside of our meta moments, these characters honestly don't feel like four years have passed. If anything, today's upload is the wrong way 'round. Our anniversary would probably be more unsettling to them...

All digital art and comics have been put on hold because the artist is finishing up his role as Lane in The Importance of Being Earnest!
Today is actually the last show, so to commemorate it, I'm posting some doodles I made in my script of a possible Chrisville Theater Society cast. We have...
Dirk as Lane
Leo Lion as Algernon Moncrieff
Jamie McBear as Jack/Earnest Worthing
A not-yet-introduced character I can't draw well yet as Lady Bracknell
Madame Croc as Gwendolyn Fairfax
The Butterfly Bear as Cecily Cardew
Wagon Wheels as Miss Prism
Moth as Doctor Chasuble
Softboy Pillowman as Merriman
The first picture is of the characters wearing more traditional costumes, while the second shows the characters wearing our cast's more modern costumes. There's a little overlap between a few roles.

Looks like Chris is still recovering from his 9th birthday celebrations! (And the artist may still be recovering from the fully colored drawings that were posted on the blog's anniversary/Chris's birthday)
It was so nice of Chris's friends and family to get him presents that match his interests. Actually, there's one thing he really wanted that he didn't get this year. Maybe I'll make a comic about it at some point...

Chris's favorite Christmas gift this year (which he had been begging his parents to get for AGES) is slowly turning into his mom's least favorite.
All right, so maybe the rhythm video game where you have to (badly) play the trombone to loads of catchy public domain music wasn't the best idea for something the entire living room would need to hear, especially when you have a two-year-old in the house who will insist on playing it with her brother.
In Chris's dad's defense, though, the game was on sale.
Fun fact: this is based on a very real and VERY fun game that I got for my sister and I for Christmas. My mom also doesn't like it.

A couple of days ago, a beloved TV show had its special 60th anniversary. In fact, I spent a good part of this week celebrating this event with a very close friend of mine. Even though I'm only partway through the festivities right now, they've been amazing so far. Tonight, another installment will be released, ushering in a new phase of this ever-evolving fiction that may never die.
Thank you, Doctor Who, for all the inspiration and entertainment that you've given me. Without you, I wouldn't have made some of my favorite characters. I wouldn't have made such meaningful relationships. I wouldn't have had such a large amount of joy in my life.
Note: You may be wondering why I drew Softboy and Leo for this and not the member of Chrisville who is actually based on a Doctor Who character. That is because it didn't occur to me until I was mostly done with this drawing.

Hayao Miyazaki's newest film, The Boy and the Heron, came out recently and it, like his other classics, was a strange, thrilling, and beautiful experience. (I especially recommend watching the dub "blind", i.e. not knowing which actors voice the characters. This adds a lot more fun and excitement to reading the end credits!)
One moment that amused me more than it should, though, was the introduction of a creature known as the Warawara. When a horde of these blobby white creatures with wide smiles and stubby little limbs skipped and rolled onscreen, I couldn't help but notice a resemblance to my special little guy.
Here is both some special crayon fanart and a recommendation to see this movie in theaters if possible!

Soft-tober Day #11: Stars
All right, admittedly, I want to cut down on the amount of times Dirk physically kicks Softboy across the room. But I decided that if Softboy agrees to it, it doesn't hurt him, so this instance is OK!

Today's video is a little look into Birch, the contentiously canonical fusion of Softboy and Dirk. This animatic isn't just some silly fun: it also provides some key pieces of information about Birch, such as who he most sounds like (Bo Burnham), his general vibe, and what it's like for Dirk and Softboy to guide their fusion around from inside his mind.
The audio is from Bo Burnham's "Country Song," specifically from the filmed version of its Make Happy performances.

I have a new job now.
(Note: this is in addition to the job I already had, and is not a replacement for it. However, I do really like the new job, and have been enjoying it so far.)
