Mephiles the Mind, Iblis the Heart
Basically a breakdown of how I interpreted 06 but also a foundation I use for all my AUs.
Mephiles is highly intelligent and apathetic while Iblis relies on emotion and is more like a wild animal. Mephiles does not have full access to Solaris' time powers, but Iblis does. However, Iblis does not have the mental capacity to actually use them.
Things that are less “interpretive” and more “theory”:
This is why Iblis needed a powerful emotion to be released
In the original timeline, the one which led to Silver’s future, it was Elise’s death which released Iblis. Because the seal was broken improperly, Mephiles could not recombine with Iblis. Therefore, he would need to look for a different way, but he can’t with Sonic being there and being an obstacle (not while Mephiles is still weak). Hence why he brought in Silver—a powerful hedgehog determined to save his future no matter the cost—who is also a completely new factor to change the timeline. Silver would keep Sonic busy while Mephiles figured out how to properly release Iblis… Since letting her die didn’t work last time. When Silver began figuring out the charade, Mephiles didn’t care enough to try hard with his manipulations, especially if it meant Silver would help keep Elise alive. However, once Mephiles realized the way to release Iblis was via an extreme emotion from Elise well… how convenient that the Princess grew attached to a certain blue hedgehog. Turns out killing Sonic really was the key all along. And if you want something done right… you gotta do it yourself.
Essentially (to explain Mephiles’ weird planning in canon), Mephiles did not know the seal was reliant on Elise’s emotions in the beginning, so he sends Silver to distract Sonic while he figures out how to actually free his other half. How ironic that killing Sonic is indeed what needs to happen. Mephiles basically has a “wait, it’s actually that simple?” moment
The strong emotion can be anything—grief, anger, joy, fear—it just has to be strong. Like a “consuming your mind” kind of strong.
The original explosion which killed Elise was too sudden for any strong emotion to pop up. (Even in her last moments, she had faith Sonic would save her.)
Mephiles is the mind while Iblis is the heart. Only once combined does Mephiles—or Solaris now—actually feel feelings. However, Solaris is still adjusting after the disoriented episode of being literally split in two and so acts completely on his anger toward mortals for taking advantage of him.
At the end of 06, Solaris isn’t destroyed but rather is scattered/subdued, and everyone will already be long gone by the time Solaris’ pieces are reunited. Like “after Dark Gaia and Light Gaia have restarted the planet” kind of long time. They are gods after all. Time is different for them.
The rest of this is sparked from my “Trinity Gods” fanon. Aka, Gaia, the Master Emerald, and Solaris are the three gods who created Earth, as well as any planets prior to Earth. The Master Emerald is also called “Mother Chaos”.
While Gaia slumbers, Mother Chaos and Solaris watch over the planet to protect it. During Earth’s creation, Mother Chaos took on a physical form (ie. The Master Emerald) to live on Earth amongst its creatures. Curious about all Mother Chaos learned whilst living amongst mortals, Solaris decided to also take on a physical form and live amongst them. However, this meant limiting his ability to see the future—or rather which future would come true. Thus, Solaris did not see what the humans planned on doing with him until it was too late.
Gaia and Mother Chaos are A-Okay with Solaris destroying the planet. I mean, it wouldn’t be the first time one of them has, after all. It’d be a bummer for it to end so soon, but they can just make another one. It’s because of this that they don’t interfere with Solaris’ plot… as well as the fact that their creations had hurt their friend.
It’s also this familiarity that means the Chaos Emeralds will so easily obey Mephiles. Doesn’t matter who posses them or if they’re on the other side of the planet, if the gods call, they answer.

Have we talked about that one Blaze iceberg theory? No? Yes? Maybe? Well lets talk about it anyway.
Tumblr media
So I've already probably done a post about 06 but today is like to talk about the blaze theory l.
See at one point I decided to take a deeper look at her information between her appearances in three games, sonic rush, sonic rush adventure and sonic 06. All of which she has played the most prominent role in all of them.
So once again most people try to erase 06 yadda yaddo don't like blaze being from the future originally blah blah, yeah we get it.
But as someone who's tried to connect the big lore points they were originally trying to tie together in 06 I think just reconning it entirely is such a waste. I think at least one or two people think so too because there are occasional nods to it mostly in silver and blaze appearances.
So here's the iceberg theory. Blaze was originally just like shadow. A prototype life form. All this happened years ago so we don't know if Elise dad was ever in contact with Gerald.
What we do now is that mobians have been around earth before sonic or even shadow made their appearance. The recent one world theory where the mobians primarily live on islands backs this theory.
What we also know is that Elise father, the duke studied the eternal flame Solaris as opposed to Gerald's study of the water deity chaos, and that the lab this was done in was also super advanced much like Gerald's.
Tumblr media
I think Blaze may have been a failsafe created, perhaps with partial DNA from Elise and another mobian, as a method to seal away Iblis or Solaris if it got out of hand. However the incident would happen too soon and Blaze was never awakened in time so it had to be sealed within elise as a last second measure.
I don't think Blaze was taken out of stasis for the next 200 years as initially the project was closed down to cover up the incident involving the Duke and this was before the princess had died as well. With the death of Elise and release of iblis which then burned the world for 200 years few things survived except this lab buried deep underground. Silver and a band of survivors most likely his guardians at the time, most likely stumbled upon blaze while looking for supplies to help them last in the eternal fires.
At this point blaze could have been still not modern or completely grown up. She would start aging normally growing up with silver and the rest of the survivors as time passes by. In sonic rush she states to sonic how she's always been alone because of her power, and I also believe in the rush series she or overall sonic game lore she mentions being teased because of her flame powers.
Tumblr media
I believe this is because once she and the others found out a about her flame powers she was despised. I mean her powers were based on the very thing that ate and tore at their world even if they were just kids it'd make some sense that at least some of them would feel that way, even if it wasn't right.
Silver would not feel that way, even though blaze probably grew apart from the other survivors except silver and was probably ashamed of her powers at first.
But think about it, the name soleanna? Sol meaning fire? The sol emeralds? Solaris? Blaze saying she feels the flames call to her and how her spirit was already aflame? How the Duke says iblis has to rest on a royal soul or else it can't be sealed, yet blaze can seal it inside herself? The gems that are collectablws in the game heavily resembling sol emeralds?
Tumblr media
Or let's look at her prototype design. Black flames a sort of silhouette kinda similar to shadow in the red and black scheme?
Tumblr media
The reasons continue to go on. Y'all can't tell me it's not suspicious how blaze is able to use chaos energy as well as the sol emeralds? Hmmm maybe Gerald had a friend after all.
Tumblr media
"Okay well how'd she end up in the other dimension."
Well we all know Blaze sealed herself into the other dimension to save them from iblis. I think the ifrit dimensions in sonic rivals 2 isn't a dimension, I think it's rhe future of the sol dimension if iblis, which is still inside blaze btw, evolves to fit the area and isn't dealt with. Blaze area has a lot of water so I wouldn't be surprised if it evolved to have wings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We still don't know if it's blaze I lost power that actually charged up the sol emeralds. But I think people saw her flame abilities and reversed her as a deity which led to her being princess. Her world might even have its own prophecied or a royal line who wielded fire which led to her acceptance.
But she didn't remember everything thanks to the fall another similar trope to shadow, amnesia. She isn't above doing what needs to be done if she sees it as necessary or throwing hands with whoever she has to. Notice how's she's also very reserved and prefers doing things herself. Do we know anyone like that??? Hmmm 🤔
Tumblr media
But she did want to protect t those around her and make use of her flames in a positive way for once, which lead her to awkwardly accepting the position.
So I think Blaze is actually from soleanna during the time of the project, grew up in the future after being released but ended up in the sol dimension in order to seal iblis away. The reason her memories are scattered or she feels like she grew up in one place are due to all the circumstances and cover ups, including the reboot of the universe to get rid of Solaris.
Silver and Blaze watching my PowerPoint explaining how blaze is a science experiment from years ago just like shadow but no one ever knew:

Possible Silver/Echidna/Ancient connections
In Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood there is another tribe of echidnas called the Nocturnus Clan. The Nocturnus Clan was incredibly technologically advanced and nearly conquered the world thousands of years ago before they were trapped in another dimension with powerful alien races by an entity called the Argus.
Tumblr media
This game and the stuff in it is considered non-canon now due to legal issues that we are definitely not here to talk about but it was canon when it came out and different echidna tribes are referenced in Sonic Frontiers. The ancient portal technology in that game is also similar to the gear themed technology used by the Nocturnus Clan. So there's hope of Nocturnus or a rewritten version of them still being canon. Silver has many similarities to the Nocturnus clan and their creations.
Silver is visually similar to Imperator Ix, the leader of the Nocturnus Clan (Especially the cuffs which are similar to Silver's)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The patterns on Silver's gloves and cuffs are also similar to the ones in Nocturne and the Cyberspace Portals in Sonic Frontiers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The convex patterns on Silver's cuffs can be found throughout Nocturne.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silver's front quills have a similar structure to the head crests of the Gizoids created by the Nocturnus Clan.
Tumblr media
The big quills on the back of Silver's head are similar to the tentacles that Chaos and The Ancients have on the back of their heads.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silver's big quills seem to have blood vessels? He puts bandages on them in Sonic Channel artwork and gets blood stains on them in IDW. Maybe they are tentacles?
Tumblr media
Sonic Team has foreshadowed connections with visual similarities before. In Shadow The Hedgehog before you find out that Shadow is part Black Arms you can see throughout the game that the Black Arms have red patterns like Shadow and in Sonic Unleashed before you find out that the Werehog is a portion of Dark Gaia you can see that Dark Gaia monsters have the same stretchy arms and attack patterns as the Werehog.
Tumblr media
One of the alien races trapped in Twilight Cage with the Nocturnus Clan in Sonic Chronicles called the Voxai has psychic powers like Silver. They have the psychic ability to fly like Silver and control minds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the leaders of the Voxai named Leucosia has the same colors as Silver's powers and patterns similar to Silver's PK Marks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only named place in Silver's (good) future that we've seen is Onyx Island in Sonic Rivals. Onyx Island is actually the future version of Angel Island which is the home of the Knuckles Clan, The Master Emerald and Sky Sanctuary. Sky Sanctuary also has advanced ancient technology and patterns similar to the ones on Silver's gear.
Tumblr media
We don't know how connected to Onyx Island Silver is but it is the first place we see him after the reset in 06.
Tumblr media
This could just be because of his powers but Silver is very upper body oriented. He never kicks like Sonic and Shadow do. Whenever Silver does get physical he always punches things which makes his fighting style more similar to Knuckles and the echidnas than his fellow hedgehogs.
Tumblr media
Cyber Sonic's eyes are similar to the eyes Silver has in concept art.

Ok, wait, hear me out:
So, Origins shows that the Chaos Emeralds led Sonic to West Island, where he met Tails, aka Sonic's little brother. Knuckles is the Master Emerald's guardian (and possibly created by the M.E., but that's a topic for another post), and he was all alone on his island until Sonic and Tails showed up, and now they hardly ever leave the guy alone. We could argue that Amy only got dragged into it all because she was a crazy Sonic fangirl at the time, but it was a fortune card reading that led her to Little Planet, and who are we to say the Emeralds can't control fortune card readings??? Gamma's kind of an odd one out, here, but Gamma was Eggman's best robot at the time, of course he was bound to find at least one of the emeralds; besides, it was actually the flicky inside Gamma that brought the emerald to Sonic (after the flicky was reunited with its family).
But the one I really wanna point out here is Big. Because it was Froggy, who was Big's only friend, who swallowed an Emerald. But because of that, now Big has lots of friends, especially Cream and Amy, but he's even had a chance to teach Sonic how to fish. See? Lots of new friends. All because his pet frog swallowed a Chaos Emerald.
And then, of course, there's Shadow and all of his Chaos abilities, and now Shadow has Rouge and Omega and Sonic and Amy and... well, everyone's his friend, even if he has trouble calling them friends.
And I haven't gotten far on 06, but I guess Silver has some connection to the Chaos Emeralds, cuz Super Silver is a real thing. And he doesn't have anybody in the future except Blaze (sometimes, but she does have her own world), so his best friends are all in the past, and somehow he keeps having to come back to the past to save the future and it just so happens that he gets to hang with his besties in the process.
So, anyway, my point is that the Emeralds seem to be choosing heroes the same way the Master Sword has to be the one to choose Link. But the Emeralds also seem to have another goal in mind of giving people homes and love and friends and family.
EDIT: Sadly, the part about Big was disproven in the latest update. But since Divergence shows how Knuckles got to Ares Island, I still stand by the rest of this theory.

blaze my beloved blaze. you could control fire before you sealed iblis in you. iblis wouldnt accept silver as a vessel but it did choose you. why? was it bcuz you are a royal soul even if you werent a princess in sonic's world? were you a princess in sonic's world but we never got to know abt it? was it your pyrokinesis that made iblis decide that you are going to be the vessel? have you ever cried blaze? i wonder if you could wake up iblis with your crying or if thats not enough since you can already control fire. who are you blaze? is the fire within you actually a curse? a tamed one? one that could cause the destruction of your world at some point? what are you made of?

ive always assumed that blaze is the sol dimension equivalent of sonic not in a "is actually sonic" kind of way but that she just plays a similar role as him and mirrors him in a lot of ways. however ive seen some people talk about her as if she's Literally sonic from an alternate dimension. so now im curious what everyone else thinks and im making a poll

Alternate 06 (alterous sonadow edition): sonic is dead. everyone is confused and shocked and shadow’s growling all his words and only team dark knows why. Elise realizes they can bring sonic back but they need the chaos emeralds and (for stupid chaos lore reasons idk) someone to kiss sonic
everyone in the know looks at shadow (which confuses the fuck out of everyone else) and shadow’s panicking and going “hell no literally please ask anybody else”

FF8's Timeloop is a Sonic 06 Loop
I always hear that FF8, or really any other timeloop, is a perfect circle. That the events that happened will happen every time and that there will always be the same conclusion.
However, if you played Sonic 06 you know a few things about "Loops". You might even be somewhat of an expert on loops because of that game.
They are not perfect circles.
There is an entrance and an exit.
They can be janky as fuck.
Sometimes when you enter a loop you enter it as planned.
Sometimes when you leave a loop you leave as planned.
Then sometimes when you enter or leave a loop, shit happens. You fall through the floor, you fly off the left or right side, or when you leave the loop, instead of landing where you should, you fly off into the sunset.
So, regarding Final Fantasy VIII, this can mean a few different things but primarily it impacts Ultimecia's *why*. Her reasoning for doing what she did, at least in FF8 as I don't pay attention to side games, is because she was hunted by SeeD. Why? Because SeeDs were made to fight the Sorceress... Even without Ultimecia's actions on the timeline the Sorceresses were seen as a huge problem and were scary af/10 which is a problem that Gardens (or a similar military industrial complex) would deal with.
But something happens in FF8 that might not have happened in the first go around. Squall and Rinoa's relationship. Their relationship is already a pivotal point in the story, but it might be much, much, more.
There's a popular theory, that got debunked by Kitase mind you, that Rinoa = Ultimecia. Personally, I never really cared for that that theory, however I always thought that Ultimecia may have been Rinoa's descendant. So, in the original timeline, perhaps she was Seifer and Rinoa's descendant. Without Ultimecia meddling with the timeline, Rinoa and Seifer could have easily ended up together. He's an ambitious and strong warrior and she's a headstrong rebel with some high up connections. Do note, that without Ultimecia the Timber mission may never have been a thing. This feels like the original timeline before a Sonic 06 Loop got thrown into it. This explains the looks and attitude of Ultimecia. However, when Ultimecia created the loop, it caused Squall to end up with Rinoa, causing the timeline to fly off to the left or right side of the loop, hell, maybe they fell through the floor of the loop.
After the events of the game, they are on a new timeline, one where Squall and Rinoa's descendant becomes a Sorceress.
But the big, big, difference is that the Sorceress doesn't just have a knight. The Sorceress has SeeDs. Squall, the leader of garden, plants a new seed in the timeline that would have bloomed differently than before. One where it isn't just him protecting Rinoa. You have Quistis, Irvine, Selphie, Zell, and the rest of the Garden on Rinoa's side. Rinoa shows that a Sorceress isn't 100% evil, that a Sorceress can be worth protecting.
So, instead of SeeDs attacking Ultimecia in the future, they are her protectors. They make sure the world isn't out to get the Sorceress because they know that the Sorceress isn't inherently evil. The last standing Garden wasn't made to sow seeds of destruction, but SeeDs of protection.
Oh, if you're wondering why in game Ultimecia has Griever? Well, Rinoa really liked the lion that Squall had and Seifer would definitely want to one up Squall if Rinoa said anything about liking Squall's ring (no way she wouldn't have met Squall at some point). So Seifer gets Rinoa a Guardian Force and names it after Squall's ring as a show of dominance.

so for some reason, the other day I got a random download of a headcannon about Silver the Hedgehog's past and I think I can put into a words now:
(very brief Sonic Frontiers spoilers ahead)
so I theorize that Silver has been going back and forth in time and resetting the timeline so many times that the world and people around him have been forgetting him and he has also begun to lose memories, or at least, his memories are very jumbled... but I was thinking that what if as a child, in his future, it was dystopic and people were trying to survive their best, despite of the advanced tech of the future. (maybe The End came back in a new carnation again but with more fervor this time? idk, still working on that one)
What if there was a royal family in this time and in desperation they had to form a special group to train elite soldiers to act as protectors to what was left of the world? What if said group had to take children away from their families as babies and train them and Silver was one of those babies?
What if Silver was a child soldier and was trained for as long as he can remember to be able to time travel and save the world? And then maybe also Blaze was there as the princess to the royal family, but she was also entered into the program (if by choice or was forced I'm not sure) and that's how the two initially met and were set to be teamed up because the group had it designed to send out teams of two: one with psychic/time powers, and one with an elemental power. And maybe the first few time traveling missions they had together went well... But then something horrible happened along the way where they got stuck in the events of Crisis City, and then due to time travels, Mephiles (Who I think was/is a new carnation of The End, if we want to stick with that theory) 06, dimension splits and Blaze sacrificing herself, memories got jumbled and reset or wiped....
Silver knows he's from the future and his purpose is to save it, but what if over time he's been forgetting why? Maybe the program, with the help of psychic powers, specially drove in the directive to save the world into his mind in order to never forget it. And now he's kind of floating into a limbo space, and the time he keeps returning to is just... empty...
maybe it's at "peace" sure, but there are no more people, just abandoned buildings... and now he's not sure what he's fighting for anymore...
And then there's Blaze and maybe she and her mind had to be completely reset on becoming princess of the Sol dimension. I feel like Reality had to reoriented itself in order to keep Blaze's role of princess and royalty to keep things as stable as possible in this new dimension, and to not cause a reality collapse. Not to mention her needing to become guardian of the Sol Emeralds (aka what I think Iblis was sealed into, but that's a theory for another time.)
I could keep going but... man the angst potential with these two is so strong.

I love how my Silvergaia (Chip is Silver's father) theory all of the sudden
like it started off as a joke until I realized that it is so much more plausible than Shadow and they have more parallels and shared characteristics to the point Silver is basically Chip without the gluttony nowadays
funny how SEGA is referencing Dark Gaia more and more while Silver is becoming more and more "babey"

Eggman Nega and Blaze
Girl help, I'm trying to make sense of Eggman Nega's existence. And how did Blaze end up in Sonic 06?
If Eggman Nega is really Eggman's descendent from Silver's future, how has he not changed along with it? I already have an explanation for Silver, but Silver's influence in the past has been proven to drastically change the future. By this logic, Eggman Nega's life experiences and memories should've changed every time it does.
Eggman Nega originating from the Sol Dimension as Eggman's counterpart also creates a conflict, specifically with the chronological order of the games. Sonic Rush is established as the first game Sonic was introduced to Eggman Nega. Meanwhile, none of the characters present in Rush make any comments regarding their familiarity with Eggman Nega in Sonic Rivals, no comments about meeting him again or questioning who he is. The only characters that mention ever meeting him or not are those who weren't in Rush. This by itself could mean that Rivals happened before Rush.
Except the Eggmen themselves show that Rush almost certainly happened before Rivals. In Rivals, Eggman Nega was trying to erase Eggman's existence and destroy the world. In Rush, both Eggman and Eggman Nega work together for the (supposedly) same goal of creating Eggmanland. Why would Eggman team up with someone who tried to kill him in the Rivals games? It would only make sense if those murder attempts hadn't happened yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why is this important? Eggman Nega first claimed himself to be Eggman's counterpart from the Sol Dimension in Rush. Then in Rivals, he claims to be Eggman's descendent from the distant future.
If Eggman Nega was telling the truth the first time, what good would it do to lie in Rivals if he had already revealed the truth in both of the Rush games? He'd get nothing out of it. Telling these characters that he's from an alternate dimension would've had the same effect. We also have Silver insisting multiple times that Eggman Nega is from the future, and it's heavily implied that they have met there before.
If Eggman Nega came from the distant future in the Chaos (Sonic's) Dimension, things start to make more sense. Eggman Nega lied to Eggman about being his counterpart from the Sol Dimension to gain his trust.
Had Eggman known Eggman Nega was his blood relative, he could've questioned what his descendant was doing in the Sol Dimension, and 200 years in the past of it no less. However, Eggman thinking Eggman Nega is instead his dimensional counterpart puts those concerns to rest. It let Eggman assume they had parallel counterparts of the same goal.
Tumblr media
The evidence leans heavier toward Eggman Nega being Eggman's descendent from the future. However, that brings up the big problem mentioned before: How has he remained unchanged during all these alterations of the timeline?
Eggman Nega says in Rivals that his goal is to change his destiny, and yet he has no qualms against destroying his ancestor or the world as a whole. He should be a lot more concerned with his destiny ceasing to exist. Eggman Nega is no idiot. There must be a reason why he believes he's capable of doing this without the risks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We already went over why the possibility of him being from the Sol Dimension is no longer an option. Aside from that, I have two other ideas left to consider.
Is Eggman Nega actually from the past? It's not an impossible theory, but it doesn't line up with his motives. Eggman Nega is trying to change his destiny, which is apparently affected about 200 years later. Eggman Nega being from the past would mean he'd be dead long before that era could impact him. Furthermore, unless he was literally Eggman's son or grandson, he wouldn't be Eggman's descendent anymore.
Now here's a question that I believe has the most potential to tie some things together. Is Eggman Nega from an alternate future?
In this theory, Eggman Nega is a cutout piece of one of the futures already erased. That's why no future Silver created afterwards affects his life. They aren't his futures. It wouldn't even make a difference if he was never born in these different future timelines, because then it wouldn't be THIS Eggman Nega being born, but instead an alternate version.
It also fits into him being Eggman's descendent. The only difference is that he's now the descendant of an Eggman from an alternate timeline. With Eggman Nega now free from the confines of fate, he has the choice to customize the future to fit his desires, starting by eradicating Eggman before he can put the Robotnik name to shame.
Tumblr media
So why not go back in time even further to prevent Eggman from existing? He can't. Any changes made after the point his timeline was rewritten have no affect on him. However, the erased timeline still had an influence in how he came to exist. Any changes made before that point could mean the events leading up to his timeline being altered would've happened differently, meaning that this version of Eggman Nega wouldn't have happened either. This is actually what happens to Solaris when Elise and Sonic go back in time to prevent him from being created in the Solaris Project.
This is kinda confusing, but it'll make a bit more sense later. For now, can we identify which future Eggman Nega came from? There's no concrete evidence. However, my mind is leaning toward one in particular that fans have been questioning for years.
Tumblr media
The Sonic 06 timeline. It sounds far-fetched, but here me out. This could actually answer a question we've had in the past.
Why is Blaze in Sonic 06?
Blaze has been confirmed to originate from the Sol Dimension, so how did she end up 200 years in the future of the Chaos Dimension? I think another question that goes along with this is: How did Eggman Nega end up 200 years in the past of the Sol Dimension in Sonic Rush?
It's odd to think about. One is in the time and dimension the other should be, and I think that's because they swapped places before the beginning of the game.
Truth be told, this isn't as in depth as I'd like it to be, but it is an answer for both of these questions.
Before the Sonic 06 rewrite, Eggman Nega was still confined to the timeline's influence. He couldn't go back in time to change anything on account of the risks. His only other option at that point was to escape somewhere that Eggman's legacy was never known, another dimension.
Eggman Nega somehow ended up 200 years in the past of the dimension he jumped to, the Sol Dimension. This is where he met Blaze, and trapped her in the future dimension he left behind.
It killed two birds with one stone. The foe capable of stopping Eggman Nega was now trapped in a destroyed world she shouldn't be able to escape from, and in doing so, he overthrew a powerful royal lineage. He was free to take over this new dimension as his own.
Meanwhile, Blaze ended up in the Chaos Dimension's destroyed future. While searching for answers, she met Silver and decided to team up with him to defeat Iblis.
Why would she go out of her way to help Silver with Iblis when her own world was at stake? She's not a selfish person, but would she sacrifice her life at the end of 06 if she still had duties as her own world's defender?
Did Iblis pose a threat to her world as well? Maybe Iblis was the one who opened the portal that switched Eggman Nega and Blaze's places. Blaze saw part of it's destructive nature in her dimension before being thrown into the Chaos Dimension's future. She then worked together with Silver to defeat Iblis in order to save both of their worlds. (but she might not have mentioned her being from another world to him)
Cut to Blaze sealing Iblis inside herself. She asked Silver to seal her in another dimension, but he can't bring himself to do it. Blaze then transforms into Burning Blaze and (presumably) does it herself. How?
Tumblr media
If Burning Blaze is anything like Super Sonic, then it should've taken all seven emeralds to achieve, and that's assuming she can go Burning Blaze with chaos emeralds. Instead, I think the two chaos emeralds acted as gateways for her to connect to the seven sol emeralds on the other side, which then lent her their power to seal herself in a dimension away from both the Chaos and Sol Dimensions.
Of course, the Sonic 06 rewrite happened thanks to the Flame of Hope being blown out in the past. Blaze never went to the Chaos Dimension until later in Sonic Rush, Silver never met her until Sonic Colors (DS version), and the Flames of Disaster were never brought to either world.
But what about Eggman Nega? He originated from the Chaos Dimension, and yet the first time we meet him is in Sonic Rush, while he's in the Sol Dimension.
It's highly likely that Sonic 06 took place before Sonic Rush. In 06, Blaze didn't recognize Sonic, and nobody made any comments about Blaze or even question why she's there.
They didn't recognize each other in Rush either, but that could very well be due to the 06 rewrite wiping out their memories. It's the same with Sonic Rivals, too.
So, Eggman Nega? Someone who originated from the Chaos Dimension's future, and then was in the Sol Dimension after Sonic 06?
I honestly don't have a definitive answer. The best I can put together is that somehow, someway, Eggman Nega was cut from the Sonic 06 timeline before it was erased, and can now change the present however much he wants without being affected.

Sonic 06 Theory: Was Mephiles really an idiot?
Warning: Clunky theory ahead and spoilers for the slightly over hated game, Sonic 06. You have been warned.
As many people who like Sonic or have played the games knows- Sonic 06 was a mess. But in that mess, many people are enticed by the game’s antagonist Mephiles the Dark. However, many Sonic fans are confused by his motivations and actions. Even Sonic IDW comic writer Ian Flynn has called him an idiot during a Q and A for how he goes about his main motivation... to k*ll Sonic so that Elise cries and releases Iblis.
Many people have argued that if he could just do it himself, what was the point of sending Silver to do it? What was the point of gathering all the Chaos Emeralds or convincing Shadow to join him? Or even- why bother with Sonic when he can just k*ll Elise or wait until Elise is dead to reunite with Iblis? He has the power to travel through time and does eventually just off’s off Sonic. Why not just do that?!
Well- let’s look into this insane faker’s faker’s logic a little bit... In Silver’s story, we already saw what happened to the world after Elise and Eggman crash on Sonic’s timeline. Mephiles describes it as the world being devastated by Iblis’s flames. Silver and Blaze did confront Iblis just before they met Mephiles and it appeared to be a giant unruly monster while Mephiles already had taken the guise of Shadow. That begs the question- could Iblis recognize or even reconnect with Mephiles within the time that Iblis had already destroyed the world in?
Mephiles also at the time had only one Chaos Emerald which he entrusted to Silver, but towards the end of the game seemingly required all seven to reunite with Iblis. Silver had also tried to re-seal Iblis inside of him with 2 Chaos Emeralds with no success while Blaze ended up being able to, but to seemingly the price of her life (or perhaps a return/ creation of the Sol Dimension as she’s actually meant to be the princess there according to Sonic Rush which came before this game and the fact we’ve seen her in other games. Kind of makes me wonder the direction that was going to go after 06 as someone on a discord server I was on pointed out that Blaze was seemingly non-existent to anyone but Silver and that with the emphasis on “Sol” in the name of Soleanna and Solaris that the game should have been Blaze’s game. But that’s a whole different theory and discussion entirely so back to Mephiles). Iblis is implied to have become strong enough to destroy the world without Mephiles’s aid perhaps in a similar way to how Mephiles was able to become unable to be sealed by Shadow again or perhaps even stronger than that to a point where he and Iblis would not be able to connect or Mephiles would just end up getting destroyed. Iblis could have adapted to Elise as its host or became more hostile due to her unreleased pain from not crying most of her life. Considering that Mephiles claims that he grew stronger by absorbing Shadow’s “shadow in the past” and how much Sonic’s story tries to dedicate to trying to get Elise to realize that its okay to feel things, perhaps there is a correlation.
It also means that Sonic needed to stay alive long enough to 1) Connect with Elise on an emotional level and 2) Make sure Elise didn’t crash like she was predicted to do. But even if that were the case, why even bother giving Silver a Chaos Emerald and sending him after Sonic? Extra emotional tension Elise and Sonic (as if Eggman didn’t contribute that with all his kidnapping attempts with her)? Back-up plan in case he isn’t able to able to kill Sonic after Elise is saved? Eggman mentions towards the end of the game that even if you destroy Solaris on one timeline such as the present, you’d do basically nothing so perhaps Silver needed to be the one to be able to seal away Iblis in the future in order to save the timelines from the so called flames of disaster (even though it was Blaze that did that, but Mephiles doesn’t seem to acknowledge or talk to Blaze nor does Blaze ever seemingly talk to him. Both only talk to Silver...)
It’s still a bit overly complex with a couple holes and a couple things not quite easy to comprehend, but hopefully instead of accusing Mephiles of just being stupid or a weird creep that likes to mess with people, we can somewhat see what his logic is. He’s mostly meant to act as a reflection upon Shadow’s character and it’s my in-game theory that Mephiles tends to also relate to Shadow a bit because he suffered similar injustices with humanity fearing and sealing his power. While I wouldn’t put it out of his character to do things just to be dramatic or showy (he says lines like “dance my shadows-dance” “now its time for the final curtain call” and immediately bows like an actor when he thanks Shadow), I feel there still has to be some semblance of logic behind those cold, unblinking eyes. But perhaps I’m just a Mephiles simp looking too much into it.

Not sure on the temp of this take, but what if the reason they were pushing Sonic and Elise’s relationship so hard in 06 was because they wanted to riff on the connection Shadow had with Maria? Seeing as that relationship was a highlight of Shadow’s own game, it makes sense to me that they’d try and recapture that spark with their golden boy when they try to course correct after said game.
I have a few more loose thoughts on this idea but it does make Elise more interesting, even if the execution was lacking.
