First shows were this weekend- I'll make an actual wrap up about it later, after I've gotten a picture of Hiyori with all her ribbons and rosettes, which I was too bushed to take yesterday. The short version: we had one judge who didn't respect that she was an inexperienced show dog and in heat, and Hiyori gave her a big back the fuck up growl, which she excused us for. The excuse was justified but so was my dog's growl (a lot of dogs did not appreciate her) so I'm not really wounded. Exams are something we need to work on anyway- I knew this- and a new friend showed us a method that should be less clumsy so I'm just going to drill the shit out of it.

The other judges were kinder to her and she talked at them but less so and they kept her in. And two actually placed us! It was a three breed group but still so exciting!

More on Hiyori later- this post is to share the real bad thing that happened.

Bloodborne was, for the longest time, my favorite game that I never played. It has taken hold of my imagination, introduced me to the fromsoftware catalogue, and challenged my assumptions about what is possible in a horror game over and over again. It's one of the first games I ever had anything substantial to say about--its game design, its world building, its historical and literary influences, and its menagerie of creatures all speak to me so intimately.
