because i like the idea that whisper grew up with the diamond cutters since she was tiny (both because it's just good, and it makes what happens to them hurt even more), i saw the post and just thought. what if smithy helped tiny whisper learn how to howl. it's a cute idea i think

id say that you were probably found on some kind of mission that Jewel sent the team on

and of course they tried to see where your parents were, only to discover you had no parents! womp womp

naturally they brought you back to restoration and after a lot of discussion between each other and jewel, they decided to take you in as part of the team!!!!

Tangle’s obviously stoked to have you on the team cuz hey she gets to be a cool big sis role model!!!!!

she can be a bit of a bad role model for you sometimes though (much to lanolins frustration)

Whisper’s a bit unprepared for caring for a child of all things, but she’ll definitely try to make you comfortable and keep you safe

DEFINITELY wants to keep you away from any danger surrounding mimic and eggman

because if you had something happen to you oh boy shits going DOWN

She’s SO unprepared for having a straight up kid on the team

I mean hey Tangle took a bit to get used but youre just a straight up lil guy

She tries to find as much information as possible on caring for kids

April 11th was when IDW Sonic’s second issue was released, featuring Lanolin the Sheep’s first background appearance

Now she is not only a core member of the IDW Sonic cast,

Summary: When Lanolin formed a new team, Tangle impulsively named them the Diamond Cutters. This was a choice that Whisper was not okay with, and when they're stuck in an intangible version of Eggman's city with no way out, it becomes time for them to talk about it—among other things. From her perch atop the metal wall Whisper thought, This must be what ghosts feel like.

It wasn’t too strange a feeling. As a scout, she was used to going unnoticed by those around her. And after her team was killed, she made it a point to stay out of view even when she wasn’t scouting. It was different to be invisible even when standing among others, and more different still to feel as if she wasn’t actually part of the environment. She couldn’t feel the ground beneath her boots. But standing among Sonic, Tails, and the others without them seeing her didn’t bother her. Watching them move on without her—it was almost peaceful, even as Tangle shouted after them. It almost felt right.

Whisper didn’t know if there was an afterlife. But if there was, maybe this was how Claire and the others had felt when she and the wisps had to carry on after the murders.

I think the real tragedy of the Diamond Cutter is...

...only Whisper and Mimic had known about them. The Resistance and Sonic’s close friends clearly didn’t recognize Whisper’s get up or mask as the standard issue uniform of the group. They clearly stayed dark to hit Eggman hard like Torchwood did in Doctor Who minus the TV-MA stuff.

Tangle learning about them does give some sweet to the bitter but it does give a good sense of the war on Eggman in how there are others outside of Sonic who are putting themselves on the line for freedom.

Some who may never be remembered but that’s just the price Mimic was not willing to pay.
