The Principle of Evil Made Flesh by Cradle Of Filth is a dark, twisted, and incredibly Black Metal Album. From the opening track,to the closing track, this album is a non-stop assault on the senses. The musicianship is top-notch, Dani Vocals are absolutely demonic.

I'm sorry that the terfs made their way onto your blog but it does feel good to see you support trans people. Thank you for that
Always.
I think, charitably, that the discourse going down on that post is an extrapolation and over-focus on one element of the point I was making: that for me, determining with certainty that I was cis was a rather fraught process. I was presented with many alternatives, but underlying their imposition on me was the oddly regressive idea that the things I liked, the principles I valued, the parts of myself I was proud of were not permitted of women. My whole life I got smacked with the background radiation that I couldn't like being strong because women aren't allowed to be stronger than men. I couldn't like being loud and boistrous because women aren't allowed to take up space. I couldn't be a math geek because women aren't smart. It was all deeply regressive misogyny from day one, but I started getting hit with it slathered in a fresh coat of paint - all those assumptions still held to be true, but now there was the out that I could do all those things if I just wasn't a woman.
Concluding that the underlying bioessentialist premise was wrong was very important. Absolutely none of those statements were true, and were only ever maintained by cultural saturation, goalpost-readjustment when they were actively disproven, and the occasional bout of lying with statistics to pretend they weren't just Shit All The Way Down. The core premise that certain things were only permitted of or possible for men was bullshit, and I didn't need to surrender the gender I liked best in order to play in the spaces I wanted to. I could simply exist the way I was already existing. I didn't need anything else.
The misinterpretation is the assumption that this being true of me means this is everybody's relationship with gender. I turned out to be cis, so for me, feeling that holding onto my assigned gender wasn't allowed was distressing - just another invocation of the same bioessentialist bullshit I'd been dealing with since the preschool playground. This is because misgendering is fundamentally denying that a person has the right to express themself the way they want. When aimed at me, it says I'm not performing traditional femininity well enough to deserve my pronouns. The same disrespect is the root of misgendering when aimed at trans people. "Perform your gender to my satisfaction or I will confiscate it."
The problem is, bioessentialism is 100% ingrained into the terf playbook, which is why, for instance, all their shitty talking points about trans athletes eventually boil down to "no woman can ever defeat a man in any contest because we are simply naturally weak and stupid and there is nothing we can do about it" and quite frankly nothing disgusts me more than the defeatist acceptance of the very lie that feminism is dedicated to overcoming. Instead of accepting that the paradigm of bioessentialism is a false dichotomy right from the jump, they embrace and weaponize it against the people whose existence proves the dichotomy is a lie. If gender essentialism is fundamentally false, then it is nobody's fucking business what anybody does with their gender. If the lines don't exist, nobody needs to enforce them. And yet there the terfs go, hunting down people whose lives are none of their business and trying to argue that they represent some great and terrible evil, some downfall of society made flesh, something that makes it totally correct and normal for them to spend so much time thinking about strangers' genitalia. They want this to be a noble crusade so badly they won't even examine what flag they're flying.
I love and support the trans people in my life and will always, always stand on the side of your right to exist, but alongside that, terf rhetoric especially disgusts and infuriates me because it is, at its heart, utter cowardice. The world told them they were weak and stupid and inferior and they fucking believed it. And now they think Fighting The Good Fight For Women means turning around and using the same paradigmatic weapon that hurt them to hurt the people whose existence outside the binary proves the weapon is a lie. They're the same shithead schoolyard bullies who made me believe my entire existence was foundationally wrong for years of my life and I will never, ever side with them or the shitty, cowardly rhetoric that contributed to the loneliest years of my life.
Figure out who you are and do it on purpose. Find the real source of the misery in your life and try fighting that instead of the other crabs in the bucket. Trans rights.

as I think more about jimmy solidarity, awful little cringefail creature (affectionate), I also think about an au that I want to write at some point after this month ends. it is in which jimmy, downtrodden guy, finds a mysterious cursed amulet and puts it on (like a rube). this amulet contains the wicked spirit grian, a demonic entity that was sealed away in the amulet and now is capable of possessing jimmy to go cause the end of the world and wreck havoc upon the land.
they immediately have… a time.
important features of this au:
jimmy technically doesn’t want to cause the apocalypse but he’s embarrassingly easy to convince
in fact jimmy is on a bit of a power trip due to the Fell Powers grian is capable of using through jimmy’s body
grian has literally never had any vessel to attempt to do his evil deeds through that isn’t already like an evil cultist or something and was unprepared for all of this arguing
grian makes “make timmy miserable” immediately a national sport. unfortunately he is also being made miserable by having to share a body with THIS PATHETIC MESS OF A PERSON,
there is at least one guy who like, tries to get rid of the amulet for jimmy. Jimmy is upset by this because that’s His Amulet
“you know what? this is my amulet. by transitive property grian—that makes you also mine, so you should listen to me.” “tim I want you to run that statement back one more time. just think about it.” “I think it’s a great idea STOP LAUGHING”
there is at least one arc where a villain tries to get grian a more suitable vessel and grian is sad and upset about it the whole time. he complains immediately about having had a competent vessel the moment jimmy gets him back despite this.
neither of them have qualms about the apocalypse for “ending the world” reasons by the end but more for “wait what would we do THEN” reasons they just keep on pushing each other so they won’t back down
I think someone is mildly rude to jimmy in the grocery store and he stops fighting grian on the apocalypse deal for like a week kind of thing. like he’s in principle opposed but not actually all that strongly opposed and WILL go through with it out of spite
basically they both torment each other but the moment anyone tries to suggest they do… literally anything else… both of them make excuses
I don’t have this au fully fleshed out or anything but I need everyone to know the THOUGHT is there,

The Confrontation
Past One Shots in this OsferthxReaderxAemond Series
Tumblr media
The moonlight bath the bay in a silvery glow. The view was practically beautiful, there was a tranquil peace that fell over Kings Landing. In the months that you settled in the city, this was the first peace you had been given. The wedding was only two moons away and the sheer excitement made you giddy. Tonight's dinner was a simple affair, just the royal family and you, save the king you retried early.
"Stunning isn't it." you sighed, the heat from the twins either side of you shielding you from the chill in the air.
"Hmmmm" Aemond purred as he stared down at you, so close to feel his hot breath against you skin.
Osferth nuzzled his shoulders against yours, his hand next to you on the stone banister, his pinkie gently stroking your skin.
This was nice, tender. A rare moment to be shared between the three of you, without the eyes of the court or the Order of the Seven on you.
"Ahhh isn't this sweet my little brothers and their little bride to be. All perfect and pompous." Aegon slurred. The smell of Dornish wine overpowering the air, disrupting the pocket of peace you had managed to find.
"Perhaps you should go get another drink...’’ Aemond spat inched forward.
‘’or better yet a strong tea." Osferth turned to, shielding what view of you Aemond was not already obscuring with his body.
"Fuck off you pious pricks!" Aegon snapped.
"There is a lady present."Aemond growled, his tall frame surging forward.
"Ahhh, the twin princes: perfect. The one-eyed protector and the Saintly prince... you think your perfect. Chosen by the gods with you stunning bride." He leered at you. "But tell me darling Osferth... you do know how the act is done? At least in principle? Where you put your cock and all that?" Aegon prodded at the golden prince's chest. "Such a disappointment you will be to your darling... Never mind my Lady you still have Aemond I am sure he knows how to give you pleasure... Wait" Aegon chuckled darkly, greasy white hair shaking as he turned to the other twin "you don't... I remember the time I dragged you to the brothel."
You eyed the drunken prince with disbelief. The thought of noble, honourable Aemond in a flesh house was almost insane. It made you want to laugh but as you lookedat Aemond, frozen, with the look of shame written across his face, Osferth looking sadly at him, made you feel sick.
"... you should have seen him.’’ his was laughing now, a dry, evil laugh ‘...crying beneath the whore as she rode his pathetic limp dick." he cackled. "Your pathetic prince...your wedding night should be a pleasant experience "Aegon chuckled. "... I am more than happy to help break you in... might make your wedding night bearab..." Aegon leer was cut off by the sicken crack as Aemond's fist collided with Aegon's face.
Before you knew it, Aemond was tumbling on the stone floor, rolling round, delivering blow after blow onto his brother's face. Aegon defence was clumsy, easily overpowered by Aemond’s precise and deliberate movements.
"Boys!" Alicent shrill gasped as the boys barrelled into the room, knocking over the table that her and Helaena had been playing cards, but neither of them broke apart, not for want of trying of Aegon’s part, as he tried to lever his brother off him, but he remained pinned underneath his brother, complete at his mercy.
"Osferth do something" Alicent implored as Aegon flayed helplessly from the floor. Blood now oozed thickly from his mouth and noise, purple bruises already marring his tanned skin.
"Aemond... Aemond stop...  for the love of the gods...stop." Osferth grunted pulling Aemond up and away from their battered brother.
Never had you seen Aemond so angry, his breath came out in heavy pants, hair tussled, an imposing figure standing in the middle of his mother's solar, a broken body at his feet. It made you shiver, not in terror or disgust but delight, you wanted to touch me, to feel his hot skin beneath your fingers but the sound of your heels on the floor pulled his purple eye from his brother to you.
You retreated. The look on his face was indescribable, a look he had never seen before. Broken and sad.
Another sickening slap, echoed across the room.
" Oh Aegon" Alicent gasped as Osferth hunched over the older prince, his head lolling weakly to the side at the sharp force
"You dare speak your vileness to her and you will have more to fear then Aemond. You are no brother of mine" Osferth spat as he pulled Aegon to his feet by the scruff of his shirt, ungracefully pushing him into the waiting chest of their mother.
You reached for Aemond but he flinched away turning sharply to glare across at his brother who found himself being coddled in their mothers' arms, "get him out of my sight before I run him through and become kinslayer."
In the brief time you had known the Queen mother, you had seen her endure her father and the king with a resolute but gracefully dignity, eyes always burning with a sense of purpose. Now those eyes only held one thing. Fear. It was no lie that Osferth was her favourite child, her embodiment of her faith. Aemond being her dependable son, her strong shoulder, while Aegon her little boy. And for them to turn so viciously terrified her.
"Take him to the maester... I will calm the princes'’ You prodded her.
"Bless you" the Queen gushed as she pulled the half unconscious prince up and out the room closely followed by his poor wife.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Your gnawed at you lip as you watched Aemond pace. Osferth staring down at his redding hand. You half expected guards to storm in and drag the young princes away, but none came. Just the peacefully that once again reigned returned. Peaceful but tense.
"What Aegon said was true... I let him take me to...’ his voice wavered as he spoke. "If you want to break the engagement I understand. You must find me disgusting.’’
‘’Kindly do not tell me what I am feeling future husband" You cooed as you took his hand kissing his knuckles. ‘’You will need balm for these" you mumbled as you stared down at his bloody hands', so strong and rough under your fingertips.
" I don't understand..."
"What Aegon allowed to happen to you... was unforgiveable."
" But I allowed it "Aemond started.
"... If it had been me... taken to a brothel, would you still blame me?" Your words sounded so strange in your mouth.
" I would never allow it... I would burn them all.’’ Aemond voice a bare whisper, you were even sure if Osferth could hear it above the crackling fire.
"If I had been there, I would have stopped it... What happened to you was..." you want to say it. Say the word that it was but you could not bring yourself to say it. "I want to harm that woman for what she did... is that wicked of me?’’ You look up at him through your eyelashes "I... hate that you had that your first time and can only ensure that in the future our...coupling is filled with love and pleasure... I want you to feel safe and loved with us... I will never stop loving you... I just want you and Osferth."
"Do you mean it?"
" Always"
Hi all! I am back. Finally got round to finishing off the last o the prompts for these. Two more written for these three and they are about to get smutty! Let me know if you want to be tagged. Like and comment if you can!

HOTD Episode 9 Easter eggs and thoughts
Let me first start out by saying, I missed Rhaenyra and Daemon in this episode. I think they personally carry the show, because without them and Viserys I could feel a noticeable difference and Alicent really carried the whole thing for me.
In the opening credits we had some changes this week - Viserys’ sigil is covered in blood to signify his death. We then do not see Rhaenyra or Daemon’s sigils because they are not featured in this episode. Instead, we see Alicents sigil and then the sigils for Helaena, Aemond and Aegon. Aemond’s is a sapphire (in the books he uses a sapphire as an eye, so a little more foreshadowing there). There is also a fourth child that Alicent and Viserys had, but they have not featured Daeron (also known as Daeron the Daring) in the show. The show runners said that they simply did not have time to incorporate him, but he is alive and living in Oldtown.
Alicent is surely in a pickle when the episode first opens up, and WOW - to know that behind the scenes she was truthfully the one with a moral compass in this meeting makes this story all the more sad. Follow that with her announcement that she was unaware of the scheming going on behind her back to install Aegon as King, and her true position in this history is very telling. I like that this show has taken how she was painted in Fire and Blood and completely spun it on it’s head. You can still see how her actions and choices would be perceived as quite evil and heartless, but as a viewer to know that throughout this race against time she was the only one looking to do it peacefully gives the whole story so much depth.
Criston murders a second person at court - no repercussions. This man is painfully vile now. How the show has not addressed this I don’t know, but I would think after murder two, Alicent might be a little concerned? The way his character has taken a complete 180 and the obvious black heart he now posses seems a little rushed. I would have preferred this be more fleshed out personally, because right now the only event we have seen that would cause this change of character was Rhaenyra denying him. Therefore, he comes across as a bratty child denied his favorite candy. I do wonder why this choice was made, and I am sure it has to do with a lack of air time but still, it is starting to hurt his storyline for me.
“The King did not wish for the murder of his daughter, he loved her.” and man, everyone knows this to be true and is willing to push it aside for the narrative they wish to control and the power they wish to claim. As they state in the Behind the Episode, this is Alicent truly seeing her father for who he is and recognizing that her entire world has been seen through a carefully orchestrated lens that Otto has shaped around her. Even when she begins to think for herself, he is able to twist it and that is the ultimate sign of her being trapped.
Beesbury and Harold Westerling (our two fav Outlander men) are such men of honor. Beesbury’s outrage over such blatent treason, and how easily it is being overlooked (and quite frankly encouraged) in the wake of such a man as Viserys death is as disgusting to him and it is to us viewers. If the laws and principles of the small council or White Cloaks are so easily overturned and bent to fit the narrative of someone like Otto, it undermines his and Harold Westerling’s entire lives. And while I don’t think Beesbury ever anticipated his death would come that way, both Beesbury and Westerling are prepared to die to uphold their honor. It makes this war a fairly obvious fight between honor (the blacks) and deceite (the greens).
“it is our fate, I think, to crave always what is given to another - if one possess a thing, the other will take it away.” “There is a beast beneath the boards.” Poor Helaena is thrust into such a sad storyline after the events of this episode. We also see her twins with Aegon, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera. They also have a third child together,Maelor.
This whole show emphasizes duos and twins; there are two sides, green and black. There are two claims to the throne. Some characters are living or have lived double lives, etc. Then there are actual twins (Baela and Rhaena, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera), and this episode heavily leans into those themes as well. The twins Erryk and Arryk Cargyll are central to this episode, and we first see them when they are sent into the city by Otto to find Aegon. It then becomes a race against time between Otto and Alicent, and they become another duo we see pitted against one another.
Aegon venturing into the city and having everyone go out on wild goose chase is the storyline that is creating the tension this episode. Both Otto and Alicent are looking to discover his whereabouts and manipulate him to do as they see fit given Viserys’ death. For Alicent, this episode sees her finally standing up to Otto, but she neglects to recognize that she is repeating history with Aegon.
The streets of silk are being depicted as such a disgusting and horrible place, where children are fighting with filed teeth and lengthened nails, and that is where one of Aegon’s many bastards resides. Aegon’s true colors are obvious to many, including Erryk Cargyll. The man that so many are willing to put on the throne is spending his time in a place like this, being entertained by his own bastard children fighting until the death. If that doesn’t show you how messed up Otto and Alicent’s fight for power is, I don’t know what will. They argue countless times his installment is for the better of the realm…sure Jan.
Erryk and Arryk Cargyll are so fascinating in this episode. In the book, Arryk sided with King Aegon II Targaryen and the Greens. His twin Erryk, however, aligned himself with Queen Rhaenyra and the blacks. They are representative of split down the middle here that so many people inside the castle likely feel. They spend the episode subtly explaining to the viewer how Aegon lives his life and how unfit to rule he is. But while Erryk decided that his honor to this tainted crown was less important than his morals, Arryk would not throw away his oath just because Aegon was a horrible person. You can see the logic in both because in their own ways, they are each making an honorable choice. For that reason their storyline does a great job reinforcing that principle that is central to this whole story; everyone is bad, nothing is black and white.
We then see Rhaenys being locked into her room, and all the servants and help being locked away in the cells. Rhaenys actually has an enjoyable arch this episode.  When she confronts Alicent about being held hostage, Alicent does not lie per say- but you can see at this stage of the game just how naturally Alicent slips on her mask to display false confidence or get business done. She is speaking the truth to Rhaenys, but certainly seeking to leverage it against her in this situation. Alicent is planning on taking her dragon, and forcing her into a war she long wished to evade. Alicent’s reducing her to a pawn in a chess game, much like Otto does with her. What I have long loved about Rhaenys depiction on this show, however, is that she is smarter than everyone. They are always giving her such great scenes and dialogue to prove that she was a woman worthy of her title; she would have made a great Queen. “A true Queen counts the cost to her people - and yet you toil still in service to men. You desire not to be free but to make a window in the wall of your prison. Have you never imagined yourself on the Iron Throne?” Wow.
When Alicent sends Criston out to find Aegon and say “Everything you feel for me as your Queen” - ARE THEY BANGING?!
Aemond is just WAITING anxiously to be sent on a mission to make his brother look bad. Having him don a cloak like Daemon cracks me up though because In an attempt to look low-key, I would immediately be suss of a man in a hood. The parallels to Daemon’s character are obvious - both second sons who do not see their brothers as fit to rule, both overlooked as rulers, both great warriors, and the show is even trying to visually draw parallels between them with their physicality and mannerisms. This is intentional, as we will see likely in season 2.
While every other person is busy trying to fuck up the kingdom, Alicent is the only one seeing that Viserys’ body is taken care of. For all the vile things she has done in the past, this episode they really hammered home that she cared for him and was a good wife, as Rhaenyra also realized in the pervious episode.
Otto meeting with Mysaria, aka the White Worm, and HA! His face when she says that she knows the King is dead. What a power move. And then to use that power to end the children being abused in Flea Bottom? Amazing. I just wish they didn’t give her such a weird accent, it takes me right out of it. “There is no power but what the people allow you to take.” is another amazing bit of dialogue.
Aegon so desperately does not want to rule and its actually so sad and the acting here is so great. He is SUCH a terrible person. He even offers to leave on a ship and give his position over to Aemond. For a second, you can tell that Aemond is intrigued by this and knows he would do a better job than Aegon ever will. He discuses all the reasons why he is better suited with Criston Cole and they bond over their shared knowledge of what it is like to watch people be given things they do not deserve for free. This offers a little more insight into why Criston now is the way he is, but with what little screen time we have seen of Aemond, his motivations and personality still feel more fleshed out than Criston’s to me.
The discussion with Aemond and Aegon also reinforces that second sons are central to this show - Daemon is a second son who was cast away by his brother and became a warrior with serious self esteem issues. Aemond is the second son with a similar outlook on life, and who trained and fought hard to gain attention from anyone who would give it to him. Otto is a second son who will never be able to gain the power a first son would, and it shapes all of his ambitions. Rhaena’s egg won’t hatch and she is the second born daughter, and feels that Daemon grants her less attention as a result...you get the point.
“Our hearts were never one” was actually a line between Otto and Alicent - WOW!!! The whole of promo I thought that this was in reference to Rhaenyra and Alicent but nope. Alicent finally sees that she is a chess piece who has been gaslit her entire life but man, you should have realized this sooner, my gal. Her statement that the reluctance to murder is not a weakness is another great way to humanize her this episode. Otto then uses her friendship with Rhaenyra and brings up her Mother again to try and win her over and it is d i s g u s t I n g.
House Fell is a new house we are introduced to today, they are located in the storm lands.
Larys (another second son...are you picking up on the themes yet?) is just a terrifying, manipulative person and Alicent knows it. And now he has a foot fettish?!!? Gross. We see how effortlessly he pits people against one another to get what he wants, and sadly for Alicent she is right back inside the prison Rhaenys alluded to at the beginning of the episode. She makes one move forward, and is always shoved two steps back.
Rhaenys escaping through the secret passage Daemon and Rhaenyra took, guess it ain’t so secret anymore! She is told that she has to leave her dragon, and you can tell that was never going to be an option. It was quite cool to finally see an event being held in the Dragon Put, especially as a fully constructed building. To have someone be able to witness his coronation and report it back directly to Rhaenyra is also invaluable, because the information will get to the blacks awfully quick when delivered by a person on dragon back.
A building burning we see is presumably where Mysaria lives, but I doubt that she was inside. Larys is likely behind this because he does not want a rival cell like the White Worm taking away his influence within the kingdom. She has built a network of spies and is using her influence and trying to hold Aegon captive until he sees to stop the child abuse happening in the fighting rings where his own bastards are being raised to fight for his own amusement...he is truly sick.
Viserys the Peaceful as a namesake is quite honorable, but many see Viserys as an accidental King. Having Aegon II wear the Conquerors crown of Aegon I (whom Daemon has spent majority of his life trying to emulate) and wield his sword was an awesome way to see that crown for the first time. The crown was also worn by Meagor the Cruel, which is great foreshadowing to Aegon II. Viserys crown was worn by his predecessor Jaherys, who made a conscious decision to put the crown Maegor wore away so to symbolically remove his influence from the realm. For it to be brought back out again and placed on Aegon’s head is very telling.
In the books, Viserys’ crown is stolen by a member of the Kings Guard who leaves and takes Rhaenyra’s side, and since the show still has Harold Westerling alive, I think perhaps they will have him be the one to bring it to her.
The crown is placed on his head by Criston Cole, the new Lord Commander of the Kings Guard. In the books, Criston takes over after Harolds death, but as we can see this is a departure from the book so we shall see where it goes. It is not a joyous day, and the entire room is silent until the bells ring out and the people are sort of forced to care about this succession. You can even see some of the people shrugging in confusion or feigned interest. They were all dragged from their homes an abruptly brought to the Dragon Pitt and I found it to be a neat visual trick. For the entire episode, it has been a stressful, horrible few days. Contrast that with the people and their indifference to the Kings death and ease with which so many of them go along with naming Aegon King is proving how insular Kings Landing is.
When Alicent gives Aegon the dagger, this is when the true repercussions of this move are made clear. Aegon does not know the prophecy, he does not understand what his role in the realm is meant to be, and the bigger purpose their family has as rulers. This moment is the beginning of the end of their house. The dream that Viserys had of his son being named King with a crown placed on his head have come true, but the context is far different than Viserys could have ever imagined.
For Aegon, the applause at the coronation the first time he has ever been positively received by anyone - you can see that he embraces it whole heartedly and that the power will soon become addicting to him much like it is for Otto, or even for Joffrey from the main show.
And then in a TWIST, Rhaenys escapes with her dragon and is somehow unharmed as she breaks through the floor of the dragon pit. If this does not reinforce the importance of dragons in this war I do not know what does. Rhaenys could have ended the war before it started but I think her lack of action is left unclear. She could be holding back because she does not want to be the one to draw first blood. She could also be unsure of which side she wants to be on. Third, she could be sympathizing with Alicent as a mother, which is likely considering the conversation they had in the castle where Alicent recognized the loss of both Rhaenys’ children.
Final talking point is that I think visually, Rhaenys’ dragon Meleys was the weakest looking visually thus far, and the ending shot of her flying away felt very abrupt. And to come full circle on this post, I missed Rhaenyra and Daemon. I am excited for next week based on the preview, however. This show has surprised me in many ways, I hope this finale tied up some lose ends prior to season two and based on the preview, it looks like we should be getting plenty of action.

the  second  thing  is  that,  for  whatever  reason,  her  empathy  was  affected.  she  was  never  a  soft-hearted  person,  but  even  less  so  now,  leading  to  a  general  disinterest  in  the  concerns  of  other  people  --  even  her  own  daughter.
  cerberus  corp…   n/a
codename…   the  name  was  chosen,  by  ara,  when  she  took  on  her  first  gun  for  hire  /  mercenary  job.  obviously,  she  couldn't  introduce  herself  by  her  real  name,  and  she  didn't  care  enough  to  think  of  something  particularly  unique  or  directly  related  to  her  power.  nowhere  works,  and  it  fits,  given  that  she  tends  to  float  beneath  the  radar,  so  to  speak.

Physical Self-Actualisation of Views
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An Aspect does not just represent a concept for humanity alone. Each Aspect was once a human before they were made Celestial and because of this fact, each iteration of an Aspect brings a different read to what their concept means. Kayle and Morgana may both embody the Aspect of Justice and Forgiveness combined, however, on their own, both represented one part at its most extreme.
In Kayle's case, this means she represents zealous judgment and sees the world in black and white. She believes in the punishment of not just those, who have committed evil but also those who are tempted by it. For in her eyes, already getting the mere satisfaction of committing evil is wrong. Like all Aspects, Kayle's body is her views made manifest and given physical form.
If Kayle is not bathed in the radiant, burning, fiery orange light of her powers and divinity, she can mostly pass for human, having pale blond hair and a healthy-looking, though whitish skin. It is when you actually bother to look closer that you notice this skin is not human flesh at all. Instead, it is white, petrified rock, which might be assumed to be marble. Demacians though now better: Their winged protector has a skin of petricite, magic-absorbing fossilised wood/rock, which through Kayle's will alone became as flexible and soft looking as human skin when it is anything but.
Kayle gave herself this ability in a direct response to Morgana "abandoning" her. Her distaste for magic, born from Morgana's pain-absorbing powers made her craft a material, which could absorb magic itself. Unfortunately, Demacia, in a misguided attempt to come closer to Kayle in nature, used the petricite from the woods, she had created to build their town. This was also done due to the fear of mages from the Rune Wars, however, it was Kayle who provided the means for defence.
Outside of her human skin, Kayle's armour is the second part of her skin. Because Kayle so strongly sees herself as a warrior of justice and light, her armour has fused with her body to the point it has become a part of her. While Kayle can move well enough in the armour to fight, she also is not as flexible and fluid as she might be if she could take it off. Kayle's armour as a skin is a manifestation of her code of honour, her desire to be a protector and her idea of valiance.
There is only one element of her body, which Kayle can deliberately change and morph, and that element is her wings. Outside of being able to decide how many of her six wings are visible during her fights, Kayle also has a very strange and unusual ability with them. The Aspect has the power to twist and twine her wings into a powerful, large, crocodilian tail. Kayle's feathers harden and become sharp-edged and rigid as they turn into scales.
This tail is actually Kayle's most powerful weapon as a swipe from it is not only strong enough to break bones like glass but also slice through flesh and muscle tissue, easily removing a torso from someone's body. Kayle's crocodilian features represent her coldblooded ruthlessness and the finality, with which she makes up her mind. Kayle's judgement is harsh, unfair, principled and free of compromise. If she has decided that you have to die, no strength or plea can save you from her wrath.

Lessons from Galatians Part 4a
Chapter 4:1-15 Meet your Abba Father
4:1 What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. An everyday example.
2 He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. Other people boss him around and tell him what to do.
3 So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles
of the world.
By the principles or elements of the world the Apostle does not mean the physical elements. In calling the Law "the elements of the world" Paul is saying that the Law is something material, mundane, earthly. It may restrain evil, but it does not deliver from sin. The Law does not justify; it does not bring a person to heaven. I do not obtain eternal life because I do not kill, commit adultery, steal, etc. Such mere outward decency does not constitute Christianity. Even an unbeliever can observe the same restraints to avoid punishment or to maintain a good reputation. God receives no glory from this. In a sense the Law brings us into condemnation. Paul is saying that such effects of the Law certainly cannot be called divine or heavenly. These effects are principles or elements of the world.
4 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law,
5 to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights (KJV adoption) of sons.
Two thousand or so years ago in a stable in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ the son of God was born to his mother Mary and was born subject to the Law. He came to redeem humankind from the penalty of the Law, so that we could be freed from sin and able to enter the Family of God as mature sons.
6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." When you heard and believed the Gospel, God poured out his Holy Spirit into your heart, and he cries ‘Abba Father'.
Daddy God and causes us to know that we are saved, and not only saved, but that we have become sons of the living God. The Holy Spirit operates in us in such a way to produce new motives, new desires, new ways [1].
When the Spirit within us cries Abba Father, we can know for certain that the Father hears him and through him us.
7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.
Checkmate! Says Paul, since we are now sons of God, we can no longer be slaves, but are heirs of the promises of God.
8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
9 But now that you know God--or are known by God--how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
10 You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!
The Apostle Paul knew what the false apostles were teaching the Galatians: The observance of days, and months, and times, and years. The Jews had been obliged to keep holy the Sabbath Day, the new moons, the feast of the Passover, the feast of tabernacles, and other feasts. The Judaizers urged the Galatians to observe these Jewish feasts under threat of damnation. Paul tells the Galatians that they were exchanging their Christian liberty for the weak and beggarly elements of the world.
11 I fear for you, that somehow, I have wasted my efforts on you.
12 I plead with you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.
Paul is saying that it was not that they had not offended him personally in any way, but it was because of his love and concern for them that they should stick to the one true gospel.
13 As you know, it was because of an illness [2] that I first preached the gospel to you.
14 Even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself.
When Paul speaks of the infirmity of his flesh, he does not mean some physical defect or carnal lust, but the sufferings and afflictions which he endured in his body. What these infirmities were he himself explains in II Corinthians 12:9, 10: "Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." "In labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck," etc. (2 Cor. 11:23-25.) By the infirmity of his flesh Paul meant these afflictions and not some chronic disease. He reminds the Galatians how he was always in peril at the hands of the Jews, Gentiles, and false brethren, how he suffered hunger and want.
15 What has happened to all your joy? I can testify that, if you could have done so, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.
The Apostle continues his praise of the Galatians. "You did not only treat me very courteously. If it had been necessary, you would have plucked out your eyes and sacrificed your lives for me." And in very fact the Galatians sacrificed their lives for Paul. By receiving and maintaining Paul they called upon their own heads the hatred and malice of all the Jews and Gentiles.
Amen and your prayer
[1] 2 Cor:5 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
[2] 769. astheneia, as-then'-i-ah; from G772; feebleness (of body or mind); by impl. malady; mor. frailty:--disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness.

Though horror and revolting nausea rose up within me ...
Whether science would benefit by these brief notes if they could be published, I do not know, but rather doubt. But certainly I shall never take the responsibility of publishing or divulging one word of what is here written, not only on account of my oath freely given to those two persons who were present, but also because the details are too abominable. It is probable that, upon mature consideration, and after weighing the good and evil, I shall one day destroy this paper, or at least leave it under seal to my friend D., trusting in his discretion, to use it or to burn it, as he may think fit.
As was befitting, I did all that my knowledge suggested to make sure that I was suffering under no delusion. At first astounded, I could hardly think, but in a minute’s time I was sure that my pulse was steady and regular, and that I was in my real and true senses. I then fixed my eyes quietly on what was before me.
Though horror and revolting nausea rose up within me, and an odor of corruption choked my breath, I remained firm. I was then privileged or accursed, I dare not say which, to see that which was on the bed, lying there black like ink, transformed before my eyes. The skin, and the flesh, and the muscles, and the bones, and the firm structure of the human body that I had thought to be unchangeable, and permanent as adamant, began to melt and dissolve.
I knew that the body may be separated into its elements by external agencies, but I should have refused to believe what I saw. For here there was some internal force, of which I knew nothing, that caused dissolution and change.
Here too was all the work by which man has been made repeated before my eyes. I saw the form waver from sex to sex, dividing itself from itself, and then again reunited. Then I saw the body descend to the beasts whence it ascended, and that which was on the heights go down to the depths, even to the abyss of all being. The principle of life, which makes organism, always remained, while the outward form changed.
The light within the room had turned to blackness, not the darkness of night, in which objects are seen dimly, for I could see clearly and without difficulty. But it was the negation of light; objects were presented to my eyes, if I say so, without any medium, in such a manner that if there had been a prism in the room I should have seen no colors represented in it.
I watched, and at last I saw nothing but a substance like to jelly. Then the ladder was ascended again… [here the MS is illegible]… for one instant I saw a Form, shaped in dimness before me, which I will not further describe. But the symbol of this form may be be seen in ancient sculptures, and in paintings which survived beneath the lava, too foul to be spoken of… as a horrible and unspeakable shape, neither man nor beast, was changed into human form, there came finally death.
I who saw all this, not without great horror and loathing of soul, here write my name, declaring all that I have set on this paper to be true.

"Hero-verse" Gigan - He's not as clearly defined in parts as Godzilla was, but he's mostly derived from his Showa design, though a couple elements from Trendmasters and a fan redesign that turned him into a sort of diamond-shaped fish looking levitating creature made there way in there a bit. He's a little heavy set looking which might cause some to underestimate him but his elbow and knee spikes help re-enforce his dirty fighter appearance. I saw some other artist claim Gigan was initially supposed to be feathered and I'm not sure if it's true but I thought it might add to his goofier appearance. Gigan was never really given his own episode in the hypothetical cartoon, he just sort of showed up as an extra monster to fight when the writers realized they'd put in too many Godzilla allies for the monster to seem like a challenge and that set the mood for most of his future appearances. There were plans to have him potentially ally with the heroic monsters against grander truly evil threats in season 2 but cancellation struck. His most referenced appearance online was the episode where he tried to quit monster villainy and just hang out with Megalon but by happenstance found his way into the episode's A plot and was thoroughly clobbered on general principle before fully realizing what had happened. "Horror-verse" Gigan - Design is pulling mostly from his Final Wars incarnation but makes some modifications to tone down his additional weaponry and work it all in. He still has a grappling hook move, attached to a reel on his right arm. There is a chainsaw but modest in size and singular, held back as a sort of switching out weapon on his left arm. Otherwise the main adjustment is to make a clearer distinction between his mechanical parts from the rest of him and turn his sails into a sort of anti-gravity technology. The edgy change here is simply that Gigan is more of an obvious hack job. The aliens that found a dying kaiju and turned into their cybernetic war machine had no regard for the creature's quality of life. As a result of the somewhat inept job Gigan's cybernetic attachment points are prone to bleeding where flesh meets metal and getting infected. Kaiju regeneration keeps the persistent infections from killing him but he's always pained from them. The ill-fitting mechanical parts combine with phantom limb pain to make Gigan entirely miserable which causes him to lash out and try to spread his pain. This suits the aliens that created him fine most of the time, but does mean sedation and overt brain control is sometimes necessary to keep him from turning on his "creators".
