I think tt03 is decent. Not groundbreaking. But it doesn't deserve the level of hate it gets. People just can't seem to understand the theme of the early issues is trying to be someone you're not and being miserable because of it. Instead they somehow read it as mischaracterization. I don't know how. Cause it's said on page several times that they're trying to be their mentors when they aren't and should just be themselves. (some issues do deserve the hate tho. The fathers day issues live in my head rent free)

Thess vs Guy Fawkes

We’re getting up to that time of year here, and we are getting to a point in the UK government where a lot of people are talking about how Guy Fawkes had the right idea. A lot of people are going by ideas taken from V for Vendetta. So little history lesson for y’all.

Fawkes didn’t want to get rid of the House of Lords or the monarchy because he was an anti-government revolutionary, exactly. The Gunpowder Plot was specifically an assassination attempt on King James, and it was because they wanted to establish King James’ daughter as a new Catholic head of state. This because he didn’t like the lack of tolerance for Catholics in England that had developed since the Church of England was establised a few monarchs previously. So basically this all started because once upon a time, Henry VIII wanted to divorce.

Which is ironic because even under the Church of England doctrine, divorced persons were generally seen as unmarriageable up until relatively recently, at least in terms of the nobility and monarchy (see also: Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson).

So, yes, Fawkes was a revolutionary of a type. But it wasn’t anti-government, exactly. He and his co-conspirators were revolting against the national faith, and I honestly don’t think that a Catholic monarch would have been any more religiously tolerant than a Church of England one. So if you want to talk about someone genuinely attempting to overthrow a bad government through action of that type ... just talk about Alan Moore’s V from V for Vendetta. That’s who y’all really mean anyway.

Happy Halloween! All Hallowed Eve, as it has been known throughout history, has been celebrated in one way or another in different parts of the world for millenia.

Unfortunately, it has become, as many things have been, corrupted by capitalism and greed. The consumerism of the holiday has clouded the original meaning of recognizing the veil between the world of the living and the world of the Spirits of our ancestors, honoring it, and maybe even passing through it.

Now Halloween is about buying or, less often, making costumes and dressing up in them then parading around to show them off. I do appreciate the creativity that goes into many costumes and I'm not knocking a chance to have fun with friends, as we do every year in our Zumba class. However, my feelings about capitalism and consumerism caused me to choose an unusual costume, based on one of Bruce and my favorite TV series "Money Heist" or, as it's called in Spain "Casa de Papel".

I dressed up as one of the bank robbers from the show, who are actually, in fact, (spoiler alert!) revolutionaries fighting the big banks and the military-industrial complex. I wore a Guy Fawkes mask, which is one of the masks worn by the bank robbers, the other being a mask of Salvador Dali.

If you've seen the show you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't seen the show I highly recommend that you do because it's AWESOME! It has inspired people all over the world to watch it religiously (pun intended) and also inspired many people to protest in the streets in the costumes from the show.

According to Screenrant.com:

"The red jumpsuits in Money Heist support the show's core theme of revolution. Red is a bold color, often associated with resistance. It's the color of blood, which is likely why it has symbolic connotations with violence, as well as passion. Red flags are commonly associated with revolutionary movements in real-life as well as in fiction — for example, in Les Misérables. The professor, the mastermind calling the shots behind the scenes, even states in season 1 that group isn't just targeting the Royal Mint in order to obtain money — it was an act of "resistance" against "the system." From the show's very beginning, the robbers' ethos has always contained an element of revolution.

The Salvador Dalí masks similarly serve as a symbol of resistance and national pride on Money Heist. Dalí is arguably the most important figure of the surrealist movement in the early 20th century; although the movement is typically associated with France, Dalí' was Spanish, and spent a significant portion of his life living in Spain. Like all surrealist art, Dalí's work was inherently rebellious — the surrealist movement sought to disrupt the norm. Like the robbers (and their red jumpsuits) in Money Heist, Dalí has become a symbol for revolution."

Unfortunately, although all that is true, it's also true, according to some sources, that Dali was an admirer of Hitler and the Nazis. So, some people have called him a fascist, which is not the ideal of the revolutionary which Money Heist is trying to portray.

According the The Guardian:

"Salvador Dalí was nicknamed ávida dollars ("eager for dollars") by his former friends the surrealists for abandoning idealism in favor of fame and money, and suspected of far worse. He was condemned by the group for his painting The Enigma of Hitler. He later wrote that Hitler "turned me on".

Now it turns out he was friends with Wallis Simpson, who has also been suspected of Nazi sympathies.... An FBI investigation in 1941 suggested Wallis Simpson shared Dalí's strange attraction to Nazism. She was said to have given information to Joachim von Ribbentrop, the Nazi foreign minister, during the German invasion of France. The FBI was told she had a relationship with Von Ribbentrop in London in 1936, and that he sent her 17 carnations every day to mark the number of times she slept with him.

Wallis Simpson and Dalí were both habitues of a brittle elite world that could flirt with Hitler as if the fate of millions of people were a sick joke. After the war, Dalí was happy and rich in Franco's Spain. "

Guy Fawkes, whose mask I wore today, was a revolutionary who died for his cause. His story from Work Rights Center:

"Historically speaking, Bonfire Night commemorates the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, during which a group of Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Led by a man called Robert Catesby, the group of 13 conspirators united in their anger at King James I for failing to support greater religious tolerance to Catholics, whose freedoms had been oppressed by Protestants.

But the conspirators' plot was never to come to fruition, as an anonymous letter informed the Parliament of the group's radical plan, and guards were placed on alert. On the day of the plot, Parliament guards discovered Guy Fawkes with a rather incriminating fuse on his person! All co-conspirators were either killed resisting capture, or tried and executed. This included Guy Fawkes. 

Interestingly, Guy Fawkes' reputation has shifted from that of a traitor to that of a revolutionary hero. The change in perception is partially due to the 1980s graphic novel 'V for Vendetta' (and the consequent film of 2005), which depicts him as an anarchist fighting an authoritarian regime. In both novel and film, the antihero wears a stylized Guy Fawkes mask, which has since been adopted by protest groups such as the hacktivist group Anonymous, and The Occupy Movement who, in 2011, invited protesters to gather on 5th November to "rally again for our efforts to end corruption and social injustice."

Our gym was also decorated for Halloween.

Early this evening there was a Halloween at the community center of the residential community in which we live. It was really a party for the kids but some of the adults dressed up too.

Our little friends Paula, Julietta, and Valentina were there in pretty cool costumes so I posed with them and their dad, Michael.

I don't think this lovely lady realized that some people would consider her costume inappropriate and cultural appropriation but that isn't as touchy a subject in Spain as it is in the United States so she got away with it here.

I went home and made dinner because I needed to prepare for the Trick-or-Treaters who came to our door and there were actually a LOT of them!

When he joined the Oldham Rep, Cribbins met Gillian McBarnet, an aspiring actress. They were married from 1955 until her death on 11 October 2021.[29][30] They lived in Weybridge, Surrey,[31] and had no children, with Cribbins revealing in 2018 that they "lost one quite early on and that was the only time [they] got near it".[1] He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009, but said in 2018 that he was "in good health" at the age of 90 with the exception of a "nagging back condition".[1]

In 2018 his autobiography, Bernard Who? 75 Years Of Doing Just About Anything, was published by Constable.[32]

In February 2022, a successful social media campaign secured the rights for Cribbins' autobiography to be recorded as an audiobook, in his own voice.[33]

Thank you so much, I hope you're doing well too! And thanks for the ask! I love writing for the FO3 dudes/dudettes.

So, I decided to go a lil fluffy (and kinda steamy in some parts) with this prompt, but I hope it's still what you had in mind :) And please let me know if you would like me to add anyone!

Butch:

It's no secret that Butch was a bit of an ass in his early years, and he no doubt would've given teen Lone some grief for their weight back in the day. (Was this whole bully spiel just a front to hide the clear fact that he actually found Lone to be pretty damn attractive? The answer is yes.) Lone would find out one way or another that he never meant what he said when they were younger. Odds are they learned the truth the day they left the vault, amid Butch's slew of apologies prior to them rescuing his mother from the plight of radroaches.

After Butch and Lone reunited and left the vault together, well... Let's just say things have changed. Butch can't get enough of his partner. Where before he'd mocked them gracelessly, now he shamelessly sings their praises to anyone who'll listen, most of all, to Lone themself. He'd spent years admiring the way their vault suit hugged their full form so deliciously, spent a number of class periods zoned out with eyes glued to that ample posterior; and now he got to take them all in without trying to be all sneaky-like? It's safe to say Butch sometimes knocks his head against the wall at the thought of all the wasted time back in the vault when he coulda been schmoozing with Lone, and instead was too busy worrying about keeping up appearances for the likes of Paul and Wally.

If anyone even tries to comment negatively on Lone's body in front of him, Butch is telling them off before they can even get a full insult or crude remark out. Years of bullying experience will not go to waste. Lots of offensive language and colorful threats would assault the disrespecting offender until they leave Butch's partner alone. If it pisses him off enough, he's not opposed to throwing some hands. Odds are though, Lone won't have to worry about any of that. Anyone who sees the couple, even just for a moment, witnessing the softness, adoration (and occasionally heated wanton) look in Butch's eye as he takes in his companion, the words will simply run away from their mouths. Usually out of respect for how much this man clearly reveres his partner.

This goes for Lone as well. They even think of degrading themselves in front of Butch and he's on it. Negating any of the insults aimed at themself with an obnoxious (yet sweet) stubbornness. He may have offended Lone for years back in the vault, but now he's making up for that by preventing any such insult from reaching his partner's ears as long as he's beside them.

When it comes to intimacy, or even just every day interaction, Butch can't keep his hands off of Lone. Now that he's got their permission, he has a field day with it. No one will ever be able to tell that these two once didn't get along. He'll have his hands around his partner's waist, shoulders, sometimes just grazing their rump, especially if he's trying to tell them he's in the mood (him being extra handsy is a clear indicator of that. Seriously, it is so obvious). When they're cuddling, he loves to spoon Lone and wrap himself around them, or have them wrap around him, either way, he's in heaven; loves to rest his head on their chest or in their lap, loves to just absolutely bury himself in them. It's honestly Butch's favorite thing. He may act like he's too cool for the cuddly shit, usually just draping an arm over his partner in public to let everyone know they're taken, but behind closed doors (or with enough alcohol in his system), this tunnel snake is affectionate as hell.

Charon:

At first, he won't have a clear opinion or interest in his companion's weight; and even when they become official and have been together for a substantial period of time, he won't express any thoughts regarding it in so many words. However, he's more into it than one might think.

If Lone ever expresses self-consciousness about their weight, Charon won't hesitate to inform them that it's never been something he's cared about, but other than that, he won't exactly litter them with compliments.

Vocal compliments, that is. For a long time, Charon is uncomfortable about too much physical contact with anyone, and Lone isn't an instant exception, but as he becomes more used to his partner and the feeling of actually being in a consenting romantic relationship, he'll be more physically communicative and even affectionate with Lone.

When that time comes, Charon's favorite place to be is resting on his back with his head in Lone's plush lap. He's always mesmerized by the softness of his partner, and only ever touches them delicately. Partly because of his own hesitation, but also due to his thoughts on the roughness of his irradiated skin by comparison, and the firmness of his grip. It's not that he see's his partner as weak, but he can't ever shake the thought that, whoever decided he would be bound to his contract had done so because of his strength, his size, his intimidating presence and his gruffness. He's good at hurting people, at killing, and maiming, not... cuddling and caressing. But Lone's lavishness makes it easier for him than he would've thought. They're just so... touchable.

It's not uncommon for Lone to wake up in the middle of the night to Charon holding onto them tightly, protectively draping an arm over them, or resting his head on some part of their soft body. Even if, in the morning, he's up before they are, already preparing for the day, cleaning his rifle or armor, or preparing food, Lone can think back to the night before and smile at the way their partner has grown more comfortable with them, and the way he has helped them grow more comfortable with themself.

Clover:

From the moment she laid eyes on Lone, she was hooked. Sure, she tends to be flirty in general, but with this newcomer in Paradise Falls, the compliments and batting eyelashes were as genuine as they could be.

Envious is a word... Lone's plushness, the way they fill out their armor, the gorgeous roundness of their face, their curvaceous anatomy, it's not fair, is what it is. Very few folks in the Capital Wasteland had any meat on their bones, and Lone's lusciousness is a welcome sight.

She sincerely hopes her partner likes physical attention, Clover is, at the very least, a touchy person, and at the most she practically gropes her partner (no matter if they're in their own company or in the middle of a crowd). If Lone's not into it, she'll lay off of them, but not without a little pouting. But if they appreciate an affectionate partner, she'll constantly and shamelessly have her hands on them. Massages are constant, handholding is mandatory, hugs are frequent, and any time the pair are seated, she's close to being physically in Lone's lap (or, more likely, she actually is in Lone's lap, as long as her companion is good with it). She's just simply obsessed with her partner.

Clover also happens to be Lone's biggest admirer. Any time she finds Lone pinching or pulling at their skin, or overhears any self-conscious mumblings, Clover is slapping their hand away and replacing it with her own tender touch, shushing them and reminding them of the way she views their body: as pure divinity. Clover knows how much more meaningful it is to receive compliments from people she cares about, and she wants her partner to feel as comfortable as possible in their own skin, so if she's gotta be the one telling them how incredible they really are, she'll do so enthusiastically.

Cross:

Cross isn't normally one for softness, one who would pay particular attention to something merely because she deemed it "cute." But damn, did she think Lone was cute. It made her feel ridiculous, the way she felt flustered when speaking to Lone. She'd known the civilian since they were a baby... Although it had been a few years since she's seen them. However, this sort of sheepish and, frankly, childish behavior could not be expected of a Star Paladin.

She tries to brush it off, to ignore the way her cheeks warm and her mouth seems to go dry whenever she engages in conversation with her new companion, but she finds herself simply taken by them. Something about their softness, inside and out, is so strange to her. To the soldier who'd been surrounded by gruff, stoic military-grade men and women for the bulk of her life, softness was nearly unheard of, and rarely seen as a favorable attribute in the Brotherhood. However, Lone made her question why that was the case.

They were approachable, and resilient, more skilled in the art of combat than any vault dweller she'd met, and yet they weren't afraid to use their diplomatic skills whenever possible. What they weren't was any of the negative stereotypes usually applied to those with their body type. And she wasn't afraid to point out that fact to anyone who might question them.

As they become closer, the Paladin tirelessly defends her partner from both the lustful stares of the soldiers who tend to gawk at the full figure in the skin-tight vault suit, and also from those who'd attempt to insult them. Cross wouldn't have it. She cannot stand disrespect, especially not to someone who deserves to command it, someone like Lone.

If her partner shares with her any insecurities they may have regarding their weight, she... well, she tries to help as best she can, but this sort of talk isn't the Star Paladin's strong suit. She'll reassure Lone, explaining to them matter-of-factly that it is better for them to be the way that they are than it is for them to be malnourished and on the brink of wasting away, as so many in the Capital Wasteland are. When that doesn't seem to comfort them in the way she had hoped, Cross would change tactics, explaining to her partner how highly she thinks of them, and how their appearance doesn't bother her in the slightest, quite the opposite, actually. Lastly, she'll reveal to them the details of her own struggles with insecurity surrounding her cybernetic enhancements, claiming that she's often thought of herself as inadequate, given her present reliance on them after her injuries. The Paladin is unsure whether or not this will help Lone at all with their own struggles, but she hopes that they can understand that they are not alone in their worries.

Cross is, at best, unused to intimate contact with anyone, but Lone would become the exception once the pair became close enough. She'd never considered herself, what was the term... "touch starved" before she met her current partner, but after knowing the feeling of being so close with them, to their softness, their gentle contact... she was utterly mesmerized by them, and surprised at the leap of her heart in her chest whenever they were near to her.

Fawkes:

Already, this mutant is drawn to humans based on the way they look so incredibly soft and approachable by comparison to his own intimidating self. It was one of the reasons, he thinks, that he came to trust Lone as quickly and effortlessly as he did. Well, that, and they risked their life saving him from his terribly isolating vault prison, but still, the way they looked at first glance helped Fawkes to put his faith in Lone's abilities, and ultimately inspired him to try and repay them to the best of his abilities for their utter kindness.

Once they grow closer, Lone may find their companion tentatively reaching out a large, green hand towards them on various occasions, as Fawkes can barely contain his curiosity and enthusiasm for Lone's appearance, and tends to express these feelings physically rather than verbally. He will apologize afterwards though (if he even got close enough to graze them with his hand in the first place), he hardly knows what he's doing when he gently reaches towards their tantalizing body, but he knows that's no excuse to potentially make Lone feel uncomfortable. After the first or second time his happens, he'll be thankful if Lone brings it up so the pair can discuss their comfort level with one another when it comes to situations like this.

He feels protective over his partner from the start, long before they are even together, and he is always wary about someone looking to exploit Lone's human softness in combat. He'll be sure to get them out of the picture first, or stand in front of them in the line of fire, if it does have to come to fighting.

Fawkes is always remarkably gentle with his partner, but given their size in relation to him, he's quite glad that Lone doesn't look like they will snap at the slightest touch. Not only is Lone's thickness simply perfection in his eyes, he feels that he can be more intimate with his partner than he would be if he was constantly worrying about breaking them.

Gob:

Lone. Is. Absolute. Perfection.

From the moment they step through the old door to Moriarty’s Saloon, Gob's jaw drops at the sight of them, and the way their mesmerizing curves are all wrapped up in that glorious, skin-tight vault suit of theirs. He almost can’t even speak when they go to approach him.

And then, in the next moment, when they’re nice to him? It’s all Gob can do not to declare his love for them after the pairs’ first conversation. He tries not to judge anyone based on outward appearances (he knows what it's like to be discriminated against for something that's beyond your control), but he just can’t keep his eyes off them any time they're both in the same room, and he can't help but want to assist Lone in any way that he can. He even goes so far as to give them discounts on their food and drink, and maybe even tell them what he knows about Lone’s father’s whereabouts, despite knowing that Moriarty is bound to tan his hide for such offenses. Somehow, for them, he can risk it.

Gob's face lights up every time they enter the bar, and he’s been known to drop whatever it is he’s doing to ask if they need anything at all. He’ll happily spend hours at a time just listening to their lovely voice, standing behind the bar as he feigns cleaning glasses and restocking the shelves just so he can talk with them late into the night. Later, when Moriarty is reprimanding him for his negligence in the violent ways he’s accustomed to, Gob still finds himself unable to regret his actions; the memories of spending time with the object of his affections more permanent than any bruises or lacerations his boss could administer.

He’s quick to compliment Lone, and will always try to assure them that he’s alright when they express concern at the ways Moriarty treats him. Now that he has them coming in to speak with him often enough, he hardly even notices the abuse. It still hurts, but maybe, now that he has something to actually look forward to, maybe it's just bearable.

Gob’s behavior with Lone never really changes before they are together. He tells them often how much they mean to him, how incredible they are, how good they always seem to look; and he wants to hear about their life, he sacrifices his own sleep every night while thinking about how good it was to see them, or how badly he misses their visits when they’re away. If ever they express any sort of negativity towards their physicality, he’ll be gobsmacked. How could they think they're anything less than utter perfection? He’ll tell them as much, meaning it with sheer genuinity as he tells them how perfect they are in his eyes, how he couldn’t imagine them any other way, and if anyone has ever told them otherwise, they’re just– they are just plain wrong. His heart would be beating out of his chest as he very nearly came clean with the depths of his affections for Lone, but he couldn’t possibly listen to them degrading themself when they’re standing right in front of him in all of their full-fledged glory.

He tries to never go so far as to tell them his true feelings outright. Gob’s absolutely convinced that Lone doesn’t feel the same way towards him. How could they? With looks like theirs, with how kind they are, how brave and generous, and personable, what could he possibly offer them that they couldn’t get from another smoothskin like them? So, he holds his tongue and just revels in the fact that he has such a pure friendship with the one he loves so dearly, content to let that be enough.

When Lone finally brings it up of their own accord, asking why it was that he was so unreceptive to their flirting these past few months, Gob would be taken aback to the point of speechlessness. Lone was flirting with him? Why? He’d finally stammer out his confusion, a blush doing the impossible and very nearly painting the ruined canvas of his pale cheeks as he asked if they were serious. When Lone assured him that they were... my, my, Lone is in for a treat. Gob would give the love of his life the whole world if he held it, and would be determined to let them know how much he values them every time he laid eyes on them.

Being able to properly touch Lone is a privilege he never once imagined he’d be granted, but once he can, it’s hard for Gob to keep his hands off of them. He’s unused to having access to reciprocated soft contact with a romantic partner, or… anyone, really. So it takes him a while to take the initiative and reach out to them, but he adores it when he finally becomes comfortable. Even though his hands tend to tremble, and his heart seems to skip a beat when he does hold their hand, or run his fingers through their hair, or place a palm on their waist, he finds himself muscling through all of those hindrances from his years of mistreatment and abuse, all of the prejudices that have been instilled in him, and all of the stop signs plastered to his subconscious when it comes to laying his ghoulish hands on the unmarred body of a smoothskin. For Lone, it's worth the effort.

Gob has loved Lone since damn near the moment he set eyes on them, and now that he’s finally with them, he wouldn’t trade what he has for anything in the world.

Jericho:

Before he even officially met Lone, Jericho was staring at them. When they arrived in Megaton, they were hard to miss; all wrapped up in their form-fitting bright blue vault suit, all questions and confusion, oozing unworldliness, and drawing everyone's eyes to them the instant they walked through the gates. He tried to be cold and dismissive, they clearly couldn't keep up with the likes of him when it came to mayhem and bad behavior; but shit... when they offered him those caps, telling him what he craved was still out there in the wasteland, offering to be at his side, how could he refuse? Damn them.

When the pair become better acquainted, Jericho just becomes more of an ass. It's Jericho, okay? He's an asshole, and will likely say a few choice insensitive things about Lone's body just to try and get a rise out of them, but they shouldn't let it fool them. If Lone looks over their shoulder when Jericho's trailing behind, it's easy to catch his eyes roaming their curves, his hands twitching around his assault rifle, his teeth grinding at his lower lip as he looks them over. Yeah, he can't fool them, it's pretty damn obvious he thinks they're fine as fuck.

As the pair gets closer to a relationship, he comes clean. Reluctantly admitting that he's thought of them in some compromising positions on numerous occasions. One day, he even accidentally lets slip how much he actually respects the hell out of his partner for their appearance, it's pretty uncommon to see people with Lone's body type out in the wastes, and they are remarkably resilient to the stares they often receive. To him, it's pretty damn admirable not to give a shit what anybody else thinks.

Just try to catch anyone talking to Lone about their weight, or their body in general. Just. Try. Whether they're complimenting his partner, or insulting them, it doesn't matter to Jericho. They're not going to get very far either way. He's proud, possessive, and defensive, and doesn't give a shit about your social graces. Once they're together, Lone is his, and their problems become his problems. If someone is being a problem for them... he'll make sure they won't be for long. Whether it's with a harsh insult, a verbally colorful threat, a knife pointed their way, or the barrel of his gun shoved between their eyes, it just depends on his mood, the type of day he's had, and what this fuckin' prick thought they could say to his Lone. Either way, if they don't get their ass out of there, Jericho's liable to put a few holes in them, one way or another.

With Jericho, and his way of engaging in "intimacy," it's important for Lone to be okay with PDA. It might have something to do with the ex-raider's possessiveness, but he's almost always got an arm around Lone in any kind of public space. If he's feeling frisky (and he usually is, especially for someone his age), he'll have more than just a hand on his partner. Roughly kissing them on their lips, face and neck, pulling them into his lap, and palming as much of their curvaceous form as he possibly can is a pretty common occurrence, no matter the company the pair find themselves in. So here's to hoping that Lone isn't easily embarrassed, because even if they were, odds are Jericho won't give a shit. Their blushing and fidgeting only seem to encourage the wicked man.

Nova:

Lone caught her off-guard the first time they strolled into Moriarty's Saloon, they're uncommon physique sending her imagination into overdrive even as they tutted about the bar confusedly, that signature fish-out-of-water look all vaulties seemed to have plastered on their face as soon as they entered the bar. She was used to having it the other way around. Some out-of-towner busting through the doors, hungry eyes meeting her scantily clad form as she leans tantalizingly up against the bar top in an effort to reign in another paying customer for her asshole boss. This was new though.

Nova found herself wanting to be the one to spark up conversation with the newcomer, her eyes lingering on their soft form as they tentatively stepped up to the bar. It was so deliciously different than what she was accustomed to. Everyone who came to Megaton was either all skin and bones, scrawny hands and sharp elbows; or they were hard, unforgiving muscle, and rough hands with a crushing grip. But Lone... Lone was none of that. They were damn near untouched by the harshness of the wastes. People often called her soft, but Lone... Lone had ample curves that she, or any other man/woman could never compete with. They're look made them inviting rather than imposing, intoxicating instead of intimidating, the look of their body promising a softness of heart, a gentleness of touch, an innocence Nova rarely had the opportunity to come across in the wasteland, and especially in her line of work. It's a strange thing for her, being attracted t someone like them, when she's only ever found herself falling for the bad boys/girls, the ones with questionable morals, the ones who rarely treat her right, and certainly look as hard and unforgiving as their personality tends to be. But Lone sure as hell is different, and maybe... Maybe she's okay with this kinda change, odd and surprising as it may be.

When the two of them do inevitably wind up in a relationship, after a short courting period consisting of a flustered Lone and a very forward courtesan, Nova is completely shameless about their being together. She doesn't want to have to keep her job once she's with Lone, but even if she does have to, she's completely shameless about Lone being her partner. Moriarty made some bullshit rule about her never being allowed to date her customers, but fortunately for her, Lone was never technically a customer. No, everything they get from Nova, they get for free, and they have from the start. Partly because they never did express interest in her services, just in her, as a person. Something Moriarty likely wouldn't understand, and something that even she was unused to.

Nova loves being physical with her partner, and it doesn't matter to her whether they're in public or not, she's letting everyone around them know who she belongs to, and who belongs to her. Sitting in their lap, leaning against them, having them lift her up, holding onto their arm or hand, groping at their chest and ass teasingly, it's all her favorite to get Lone all red and blushing, in public or otherwise.

She's also just much more laid back with her partner than she is with anyone else at the saloon, feeling as though she's finally able to bring down a few bricks of that sassy, defensive façade that she surrounds herself with when she's at work. It's nice to be able to let her guard down for once, but it's only for Lone. Everyone else gets the same treatment as before, and she actually tends to be even more reserved about her personal life than she used to be, given her new romantic affiliation.

It's unlikely that Lone ever feels unloved or unattractive around their partner, since Nova tends to be so damn supportive of her love at any given time. Even when she can manage to keep her hands to herself, her compliments are frequent and unrelenting. She often tells them how good they look on a daily basis, and is shameless about letting them know how they made her feel the night before. Hopefully Lone isn't embarrassed easily, cuz Nova's one of those partners that gushes about them constantly, flirts with them like they aren't already dating, and touches them as much as she can without incurring some sort of public indecency fine (that Moriarty likely made up when she started paying so much attention to the newcomer.)

Lone's unlike anyone that Nova's been with before, unlike anyone she's even seen in the wasteland at all, and she's never considered herself the type that would be with someone as kind as Lone, as unimposing, as fucking ravishing. Hell, the vaultie gave her a run for her money and it's her damn job to look good. But it didn't trouble her like she thought it might. No, the two of them are like a force of anti-negativity together, all support, affection, and words of affirmation in the face of any asshole bar-goers or abusive bosses, and it's everything Nova never knew she wanted, never knew she needed, and she's damn glad to have them.

matte and butch started getting in fights, though it was more of a rivalry than outright bullying. only with butch though. matte didn't play nice with wally and he was always nice to paul

if amata got involved he didn't pull punches on anyone though. they were still as close as ever

at 16, he got chosen for vault marriage counselor (not chaplain as he's not christian). while his services were never really called upon, he took his job very seriously, studying every religion possible. eventually he ended up just being a counselor, someone who could give sound advice to anyone

the other teens especially went to matte about the vault. as in what's outside, what do we do with our lives, etc (his dad and him helped freddie in particular with his vds)

while butch and him still fought, they're animosity mellowed out to verbal fights. they had bigger issues, such as life

while they all kind of despaired about the future, no one really expected anything to change

then matte was 19 and it all went to shit

jonas' death shocked him to his core. sure, people died, but not like this, not this horrifically

however, he knew his dad was out there, and that he wouldn't want matte to kill to get out. so he snuck around, went the quiet routes

he did help butch and felt a kinship with him in that moment. matte asked butch to help him escape, and while butch said he needed to make sure his mom was okay, he'd see matte off

matte doesn't remember much about the rest, having blocked it out. he knew that others died and he hacked into the overseer's terminal. he remembers being enraged at the logs that talked about outside communication and the tunnel snakes. he remembers getting to the vault entrance and having to say goodbye to amata and butch. he remembers asking them to come with him, to escape the dull routine of the vault. they both refuse, amata mentioning the other residents will need her and butch saying his mom needs him. and matte remembers butch protecting amata as security arrives for him. he remembers running for his life, barely avoiding the shots being fired at him, and bursting through the wooden door outside into a new life
