just sharing over here cause people i follow on weibo are reposting it and curious about it. i personally find it hard to believe in incidents like this cause anyone can make a side account of their own or who knows if the person was just confused. it’s very hard to prove and what if we are just over reaching over an innocent comment. i am referencing this post that explains what happened. so, people noticed that in global fever’s airport photoset of zz, an account that appears to be a non-fan commented. take note that zz is covered up in a mask, shades and beanie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
p1 is actually very sweet, praising our xiao laoshi. and it’s true. even if you can’t see his face — you can sense that aura and you will be attracted by him. p2 was what cause us to reconsider the first comment and who OP is. zz is definitely not someone who rides a motorcycle, all the more be visiting ZIC. those two things tho are related to a completely different person — wyb. you can interpret that as the person being confused. we know that there are photos of the two that you will find it hard to recognize which is which. especially if zz is all covered up. we cpn that there are incidents that they use this similarity to trick people when they are visiting each other. but then another post/comments comes in on another global fever post at tod’s MFW.
It matches well with Boss Wang. I’ll remember to say it again next time. When you get up to play in Zhuhai, don’t bring sunglasses and hats.
Tumblr media
Wait. What? 👀👀
with that comment, it seems to imply that OP knows who wyb is. calls him boss too. we don’t know if that means he is familiar with him or indirectly interacted with him that he recognized wyb as the boss. he was not confused like we thought in his first comments — he knew the person is not WYB. but he seems to recognize zz going to ZIC and riding a motorcycle. that he went there with sunglasses + hat with WANG YIBO. whether this indicates a romantic relationship or this is just bros having fun — it is something. back in their 2019 interviews, they did talk about teaching ZZ how to ride a motorcycle so this is possible. it’s on brand with ZZ’s personality too, how he goes out of his way to look into things that WYB likes. for example, how to skateboard.
the OP does not follow any celebrities and is more on cars and motorcycle. that’s why people think they are mostly credible. but again, we cannot trust people on the internet. this is definitely someone who is not in their inner circle, cause if they were, they would keep quiet. maybe this person is someone who frequents ZIC and remembered the day boss wang brought in his special friend to ride ♥️
cpfs have also weighed in on why this could be what we think it is:

feel free to take this as a fake story, if anything, what i love about this is people searching tracer 85 x xz edits! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Been meaning to talk about it since it started trending and I finally have the time now.
"Netizens thank Wang Yibo for scholarship funding"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yibo's always been the silent introvert type but his heart is as big as the ocean. He never brags about anything he does, he just silently keeps on helping people and being the good boy he is 🥺.
Recently netizens came forward with the list of stuff yibo's been doing in private for the community and his people and it's so heartwarming because you wouldn't have even known he's been doing all of this if people didn't talk about it.
while haters and antis try everyday to smear his name and throw mud at him it's the voice of the general public now more than ever who know what a kind soul he is. More and more people are getting to know him as a person, his dedication to his work, how he's literally the most clean person in the industry and how he just helps people in silence. He doesn't talk about the haters, he acknowledges his fans but never hypes them up or uses fan service to bait anyone. This boy is just out there doing what he loves and just spreading joy to everyone. He deserves every blessing and happiness that comes his way and more 🥺❤️

Hi rainbowsky☺️ thanks for all the fun posts. I love them a lot! I am a fruit from 2021. Toxic mtjj has recently attecked fruit with this claim. 'The court ruled that bjyx is a disgrace to Mr. Wang Yibo.'
I am trying to find information on this, but I can't seem to find it. Do you know anything about it?
Hi remember! Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying my blog! ☺️
If I've said this once, I've said this a thousand times, block and ignore toxic people (and report where appropriate). Don't give them the time of day. They are trying to hurt you. Ignore, ignore, ignore.
As for this particular claim, this emptyjiejie is misrepresenting what happened in order to upset turtles.
They're talking about the Lyfen case, where a BXG sued Lyfen for failing to give them a prize they had legitimately won. Lyfen's homophobic defense was that they were trying to protect DD's reputation by disassociating the contest/event from BXG.
Lyfen won the case. Of course they did! Anyone who thought the ruling would go against Lyfen is out of touch with reality.
This is a lone BXG against a large corporation with high powered lawyers. The BXG never stood a chance, regardless of what basis Lyfen argued its case upon.
Lyfen was the defendant in the case, and a brand arguing it was trying to protect its reputation and the reputation of its spokesperson is already at an advantage. I'm not an expert in Chinese law, but in most courtrooms around the world all Lyfen would have had to do to win the case was prove that, in their mind, they were acting in good faith. They wouldn't have had to prove anything beyond that. They wouldn't even have had to prove anything negative about turtles, just that as a brand, they were acting based on what they felt was best for their company and their spokesperson. If they weren't acting illegally in doing so, they win.
LGBTQ rights aren't protected under the law in China. In a country like China where there are no legal protections in place against LGBTQ discrimination (and where, in fact, the current government - which is very homophobic - is increasingly cracking down on LGBTQ people), courts are going to side with a defendant who is arguing against being associated with 'deviant queer culture'. According to the law in China, queerness isn't a protected class. Quite the contrary.
The courts didn't rule that BXG are a 'disgrace', they ruled that Lyfen was within their rights to not want to associate with them. Even if the courts had made that determination that BXG were a bunch of disgraceful, immoral monsters, anyone wanting to cite a LGBTQ repressive institution on matters pertaining to the morality of homosexuality/queer culture... uhhhh*... 🤔
I have said this before, but anyone who smugly cheers on this kind of thing is a fucking asshole, and a homophobe.
*This reminds me of shrimps gleefully quoting a bottom-feeding paparazzo as 'proof' that BJYX isn't real. Solos don't actually GAF about right and wrong when it comes to attacking BXG. They'll throw all morality out the window if they think it can help further their anti agenda.
Block and ignore, block and ignore, block and ignore.
And please, if you read any of my posts, make it this one.
I talked a bit more about brand antis here.

A correct amount of words about wang yibo
I keep trying to indoctrinate the good people of Post.news who have the misfortune to follow me into joining the Wang Yibo fandom. And that's hard to do given that this is a whole-ass sea of like white Gen X MSNBC liberals who probably only think about China as politics, but I am doing my LEVEL BEST, and the result is this absolutely enormous post about Yibo that most people reading this on Tumblr don't need to know, but which I am going to put here anyway, because I need to feel Seen.
I wish to talk about Yibo's beautiful New Year's Eve performance, but first some context.
actually no, first, a picture because isn't he lovely
Tumblr media
Over the last four years, this has become a holiday tradition: Eagerly awaiting Wang Yibo's release of a huge song on December 30 — his only single of the year — that he then performs live on an annual New Year's Eve concert the next night. Every year, when he does this, it's a huge deal and the songs always become the bestselling single of the year on the last day of the year, which is the kind of massive flex that compels me to yell about it a lot.
So in 2019 he released "Wugan" (which he wrote) on 12/30, and it became the bestselling single of 2019. At the end of 2020 he released "Rules of My World," which he also wrote. That then became the second-bestselling single of 2020. (More on the single that beat him in a minute.)
The next year, he released his 2021 end-of-year single "Nian" completely for free, probably in response to the Qinglang restrictions I wrote about here, in which, among other things, China banned multiple mass sales.
Yibo is known primarily as an (extremely good) hip-hop dancer, so since "Nian" was more of a power anthem everyone was anticipating something more upbeat for his end-of-year song this year. Instead, Yibo surprised us all with a gorgeous love song, "Like the Sunshine" (像阳光那样)", which immediately became not only the bestselling single of 2022, but the first single to top 2 million sales in China since the CCP banned mass sales 18 months ago.
And then he paired it with this incredible modern dance performance at Dragon TV's new year's eve event.
youtube
Please watch it; he cut his hand and his feet while dancing barefoot on stage but kept performing, and this gives you such a good glimpse of what a heartfelt and mesmerizing performer he is.
What you wouldn't know just from watching this is that Yibo has rarely if ever danced modern dance before onstage, only hip-hop and other dances blending modern dance elements, but never anything like this. And yet he looks completely at home and in his element. The climax and fully the last 60 seconds show so much control and power, combined with his ability to be completely immersed in the flow and feel and emotional dynamics of of a song — which you get both from his movements and his vocal expression. He's just. So good. All the time.
It will be three years at the end of this month since I first discovered Wang Yibo, and I still feel every day like I just discovered him for the first time, because I'm continually blown away, not only by how tremendously talented and gifted he is at whatever he picks up, but by how unapologetically passionate and pure-hearted he is about loving dance and loving acting and music and racing and competition and all his geeky quirky little hobbies, about loving people and loving life.
Everyone who works with Yibo just winds up raving about about how talented he is, whether it's his acting or dedication or dancing or singing or that time he just fucking did this what the fuck, and you can see so clearly from all of this, and especially this new NYE performance, that it's not just that he's incredibly talented and skilled enough to master a totally new skill in weeks, but that he goes full-throttle in every performance, makes himself completely raw and vulnerable. Yibo eschews method acting, is arguably not neurologically suited for method acting, but instead has this wonderful ability to slip in and out of character, become whoever he's asked to become in any given moment. And when he's dancing as himself on stage, he consistently shows us his heart and his pure emotion, whatever it is.
He is just, above all things, a consummate entertainer: He prioritizes the mood and the moment of the art he's creating, and he delivers that consistently, each and every time. Case in point: let's enjoy him performing "Pick Me" for Produce 101 in 2019, when he served as dance mentor to women competing for a spot in a girl group. Every time Yibo gets asked to dance "cute" dances — and probably the reason he keeps getting asked — is that he commits to the cuteness without any posturing or machismo and just, again, lets his performance serve the dance/song without letting his ego get in the way.
youtube
Or! Or! This next song! I love this performance because it's completely inexplicable at a glance but SO fun and just, happy. What's happening here is: He's a special guest on a variety show where the object is (wait for it) to SING SONGS WHILE SPINNING ON A LITTLE SPINNY THING.
And one of the judges of this show is Da Zhangwei, who's both a well-known like, comedy/variety songwriter and Yibo's good friend (they hosted a variety show together for years). So Yibo makes a surprise appearance to perform one of Da Zhangwei's own songs, "Pop Rocks Candy," while spinning around on a little spinny thing!!!! (China!!!!)
And this should be absolutely absurd, like, cringey beyond belief, over-the-top excess, right. But because Yibo is so committed to this performance, without a hint of embarrassment, it somehow just becomes this joyous, endlessly delightful gift of Wang Yibo performing one of his friend's songs and turning it into a celebration of fun and whimsy.
youtube
OR! here he is being dragged into a silly dance battle in 2018 while filming the rom-dram Gank Your Heart. Nothing at all going on, he's just hanging with the other cast and dancing for fun, except Yibo is just so excellent that the camera eventually gives up following the other cast members and just zooms in on him. Everyone always winds up zooming in on Wang Yibo.
youtube
To return to 2020: Yibo was second in song sales that year only because the top spot went to his best friend Xiao Zhan's song "Spotlight," which was/is the biggest selling single of all time, as in, in world history, as in this song outsold both the Beatles and "White Christmas". You will assume I must be exaggerating until you click that link and learn that this is actually a well-verified fact.
The reason you have never heard "Spotlight" is because the combined impact of the CCP's isolationist tendencies and the tendency of other countries to treat China like a sealed vacuum means it's easy to ignore/write off whatever's happening in China, even while entertainers like Yibo and Xiao Zhan are making major inroads and breaking through international culture divides.
But I think that might be changing sooner rather than later, and Yibo is a big part of the reason. In Q3 of 2022 his studio, Yuehua, was preparing to go public (they eventually withdrew) basically fully on the strength of Yibo's popularity: They released an investor report claiming he was responsible for 80% of their overall revenue in 2022. (I saw a later claim that in Q4 that # jumped up to 90% overall but I couldn't find a source. I believe it, though, because YIBOOOOO.)
Yibo has three films coming out in 2022. One of them I've already discussed in this Post post (lol), without mentioning the fact that in the scenario where Born to Fly is China's version of Top Gun, Wang Yibo is Tom Cruise as Maverick. (At age 24, by the way — just a year older than Cruise when he first played the role.)
The other two are equally eye-catching. One is One and Only, a street dance movie created and scripted entirely around and for Yibo, clearly inspired by what an absolute phenomenon he has been as a captain on Street Dance of China. This movie won the Weibo award for most anticipated movie of 2022 (back when we still thought it was coming out in 2022, sob). The director stated on the awards red carpet, "If there's no Yibo, then there's no movie." Brb sobbing into my tea.
The final film drops on 1/22 and it's called Hidden Blade (previously titled Anonymous) and he stars alongside Tony Leung, YES I SAID TONY LEUNG, and it's also one of the most anticipated films of the year. And, listen, I would go a long way just to watch Tony Leung, but the trailer, along with the latest just-released poster, each make it clear that Yibo is every bit the co-star:
youtube
Sooooo this movie will probably land on the international radar — hell, it already has — and if I know Yibo, he won't be easy to overlook.
Because that's the thing, always: Eventually, no matter the context, you always wind up zooming in on Wang Yibo.

Restless Rewatch: The Untamed, Episode 33 part two
(Masterpost) (Pinboard)
Tumblr media
Warning! Spoilers for All 50 Episodes!
Side Note: As you know, I mostly except for sex scenes try not to compare CQL to its parent work, MDZS, because I think different works should get to be their own things. But I do love the book and all its many adaptations, and in case you want to dive into all of that, I’ve put together a roundup of everything I’m aware of (Novel, Donghua, Manhua, etc.) that’s available in English, and where to find them. That post is over here.
Tumblr media
Morning in Cloud Recesses
It’s morning, and by the time Wei Wuxian gets out of bed, Lan Wangji has already stretched, made breakfast, folded the laundry, and gone to play his guqin by the waterfall.
Wei Wuxian steps outside and takes a deep breath, happy to be staying in a place that doesn’t smell like lava or corpses.
Tumblr media
He wanders through the oddly empty cloud recesses, hallucinating about happier times. These are not normal flashbacks; he is in the frame, watching, while things happen in the past.
Tumblr media
Eh, that’s ok, he’s been through a lot. Hallucinations aren’t uncommon with PTSD.
At each memory, he smiles warmly, until the present day catches up and his mood crashes back down.
Tumblr media
This repeats until he reaches the library, where he remembers (in a normal desaturated flashback) showing porn to Lan Wangji and how mad he got. A bit of a smile stays with him after that.
Tumblr media
(more after the cut!)
Bunny Kisses
Then he finds the rabbits, two of whom cheer him up by smooching, like he wishes he and Lan Wangji would do.
Tumblr media
As a stand-in for a human kissing scene, this is cute, as long as we anthropomorphize them so that their sniffing of each others faces counts as kissing. It’s definitely better than watching those birds from The Long Ballad.
Tumblr media
(I adore The Long Ballad and have watched it three times so far, and that is three times more than I ever needed to see a bird’s tongue)
Return of the Bathing Beauty Trope
Then Wei Wuxian finds Lan Wangji in the cold spring. Let’s compare this encounter to the previous time they met each other here, so many years ago.
Then: Baby Wei Wuxian sees Lan Wangji and *sprints* down the stairs to be near him, even though they don’t really get along yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s completely delighted to see him, not at all deterred by the unfriendly reception.
Tumblr media
Now: Grown up Wei Wuxian reacts with with a fond smile, similar to the way he’s reacted to all the memories he’s been replaying.
Tumblr media
The smile fades, and he approaches with absolutely none of the exuberance of his youth.
Tumblr media
He just has...no joy. Not in living, not in being around Lan Wangji. But he’s sought him out as unerringly as he did in his youth, all the same.
Then: Baby Lan Wangji realizes Wei Wuxian is approaching, takes a millisecond to consider the situation, and immediately goes to put clothes on. He’s fully covered by the time Wei Wuxian reaches the shore.
Tumblr media
Now: Grown-up Lan Wangji sees Wei Wuxian, and just...sits there...while Wei Wuxian looks at him. He’s got his hair pulled over his shoulder so his back is on display, too.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji is never going to tell Wei Wuxian about his scars, but I think he wants him to see, to understand that Things Have Happened in his own life while Wei Wuxian was gone. Talking isn’t really his thing, so he’s showing him instead.
Tumblr media
(These unobtrusive scars, incidentally, are what happens when a character is extremely scarred but is being portrayed by a half-naked Wang Yibo. The producers aren’t going to give up a thirst opportunity for the sake of medical verisimilitude.)
I think he’s also deliberately letting Wei Wuxian see how beautiful he looks without his many layers of robes on. He sits still, being looked at, for 30 seconds of screen time, and then he turns around to show off his tiddies.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately that’s when Wei Wuxian notices the burn on his chest, which wasn’t what Lan Wangji was going for, so he--slowly--gets out and puts his clothes on.
Tumblr media
This burn scar is never discussed in the show, although the book explains it. I think if you haven’t read the book you can still guess that Lan Wangji did it to himself out of grief. This is a literal mark of Lan Wangji’s devotion--one he’s not ready for Wei Wuxian to understand just yet.
Continuing the comparison: in the past, it was Wei Wuxian trying to get close to Lan Wangji, as Lan Wangji resisted.
Tumblr media
In the present, Wei Wuxian doesn’t need to push; Lan Wangji comes to him. Lan Wangji has, in the course of 12 hours, invited Wei Wuxian so far into his life and has shown Wei Wuxian so much of himself that he might as well have embroidered "down to fuck" on the front of his robes.
Tumblr media
Before this, Wei Wuxian had never seen his house, not seen his hair without several chunks of silver in it, not heard him play guqin other than for medical purposes, and definitely hadn't been given a generous eyeful of his elegant torso and swanlike neck.
Seeing Lan Wangji’s various scars, Wei Wuxian starts to get out of his own head a bit, and begins to think about the person Lan Wangji has become in his absence.  He demands--not via his usual whining, but with quiet authority--to know what happened.
Tumblr media
This gets him absolutely nowhere, because Lan Wangji is the stubbornest person on Earth. He let Wei Wuxian look, and that’s all the communicating he plans to do on this subject.
Tumblr media
He knows perfectly well that he has an interfering older brother who will eventually explain everything for him.
Failmaster Qiren
The tension is broken by the arrival of some juniors, who say that Lan Qiren tried to communicate with the sword spirit, and it kicked his ass. This happens to him more often than it should.
There are a lot of funny moments in The Untamed, many of them deliberate, but some caused by the challenges of a big production with complicated continuity. For me, nothing will ever be funnier than the fact that, on his way to save his uncle from the homicidal sword spirit, Lan Wangji stopped to do his hair.
Tumblr media
Outside the sword room, Wei Wuxian demonstrates one of his core skills: busting through barriers in the Cloud Recesses.
Tumblr media
None of the juniors can get past this door that he’s easily blasting open, but they all still believe that this dude with Lan Wangji is second-rate cultivator Mo Xuanyu.
Flute Recital
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian start playing "Rest" to the sword, but then Wei Wuxian realizes that Lan Qiren is going to recognize him if he plays the flute well...while not wearing a mask...or something? This is one of those moments where it would make a lot more sense if Mo Xuanyu did not look like Wei Wuxian, but we would all be sad if either version of Wei Wuxian did not look like Xiao Zhan, so let’s roll with it.
Tumblr media
To hide his real abilities, and because he is a compulsive troll, Wei Wuxian launches into an extra-shitty rendition of WangXian, which is apparently bad enough to knock Lan Qiren out again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lan Wangji takes a moment to wonder why he had to be born a clownosexual, exclusively attracted to clowns. One clown in particular.
Tumblr media
Now the mystery-solving part of the story gets rolling. Wei Wuxian picks up the sword, which is smoking with resentment, to get a read on it.  It screams at him like the Xuanwu sword did, back in the good old days.
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian shudders and gasps sexily, and then falls into Lan Wangji's waiting arms.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji suddenly feels totally fine about his clownosexuality.
Party in the Jingshi
Later, at the Jingshi, Wei Wuxian expertly twirls his flute just like that one Yiling Laozu guy was known for doing while Lan Wangji and several disciples tend to Lan Qiren.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji has put Lan Qiren in his own bed, the same bed Wei Wuxian was sleeping in 12 hours ago. I'd say Lan Wangji has the busiest bed in the Cloud Recesses, except that we all know that honor belongs to Lan Xichen.
The disciples gossip about the resentful energy, and one of them wonders aloud if the Yiling Laozu has taken over a new host body. That earns him a nearly lethal dose of stink-eye from Lan Wangji.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji finishes checking his uncle’s pulse and puts his hand down but does not tuck him in, because his uncle is not named Wei Wuxian.
Tumblr media
We get our first clue that Lan Wangji is actually Lan Sizhui's dad when he vaguely dismisses the whole group of disciples, but sends Lan Sizhui, specifically, to bed.
Tumblr media
Hot-grumpy-dad Lan Wangji is my favorite. We don’t see him in this mood a lot at this age, particularly not when he’s busy making googly eyes at Wei Wuxian. But his worry for Lan Qiren seems to have brought back a slice of his angsty, angry younger self. *sizzle noise*
Lan Sizhui tries to argue about bedtime and gets shut down, so he verbally acquiesces to what his dad told him to do. Then he fucks off and does what he wants to do instead. It’s nice to see that Lan Wangji has raised a normal teenager.
Tumblr media
Sizhui goes outside and chats with his other dad for a while. He doesn't know yet that this is his other dad, of course, just that his father has a new, cool boyfriend who can probably score much better weed than that crap Jingyi's always bragging about.
Wei Wuxian is a kind, serious authority figure in his conversations with Lan Sizhui; not silly or teasing as he is with Lan Jingyi.  He tells Sizhui him not to blame himself for what happened at the Mo manor, and compliments his learning and thought processes.
Tumblr media
I Trust You
In the morning, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji talk on the porch. Lan Qiren taking the only bed means they probably didn't have the fun night Lan Wangji had been hoping for. Also, while they are getting along well, Wei Wuxian isn't comfortable with him yet; he asks if Lan Wangji suspects him, when they talk about the haunted sword.
Lan Wangji takes the opportunity to tell him, emphatically, “Of course, I believe you.” This is the same “trust/believe” ( 信 ) that was hanging between them the previous evening, and Lan Wangji is taking steps to rectify the problem.
Tumblr media
Fortunately, Wei Wuxian is helplessly in love with Lan Wangji, and has a very forgiving nature, so they will get comfortable with each other very quickly. They work out that Xue Yang must have recreated the Yin tiger seal using his own piece of Yin Metal.
Guest Lecturer
Next, Lan Wangji gathers a roomful of disciples together to listen to Yiling Laozu’s lecture on the topic of resentful energy and this demonic sword. (Lan Qiren wakes up, feels a disturbance in the force, faints again).
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian also flirt in front of the whole class.  Features of this flirtation include Wei Wuxian doing this...thing with his flute and his mouth while he leans on Lan Wangji.
Tumblr media
This one time, at band camp...
Tumblr media
Theoretically, this move of Lan Wangji’s, where he steps away while Wei Wuxian is leaning on him, could be read as “doesn’t like to be touched.” Except grown-up Lan Wangji is happy to touch Wei Wuxian, and everyone’s faces say that this is Lan Wangji indulging in a moment of playfulness.
Tumblr media
Lan Jingyi is slightly horrified, but Lan Sizhui is practically ecstatic about this development. He and Wei Wuxian have a little nonverbal conversation in which Lan Sizhui gives him the opposite of a shovel talk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lan Sizhui is the president of the Let's Get Hanguang-Jun Laid club. Jingyi will join up soon.
On The Road Again
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian leave Gusu on a pair of horses that are never seen again; why does Wei Wuxian ride a donkey if they've got horses? *shrug.*
They go into Qinghe and walk through the market; Wei Wuxian lighthearted and interested in his surroundings in a way he hasn't been since he was young. Lan Wangji seems comfortable in the crowd; a contrast to his early travels.
Tumblr media
A vendor is selling Yiling Laozu merch. Wei Wuxian is offended by their ugliness, explaining that the Yiling Patriarch was one of the most beautiful men in the world, with many successful sponsorship deals.
Tumblr media
Just then Jin Ling shows up, because the cultivation world is like 3 city blocks wide and everyone lives on the same block. He attacks the vendor for daring to mention Wei Wuxian in public.
Tumblr media
This is my father’s font! I won’t put it down!
The stunt here involves the vendor getting yanked on a wire into a produce table, without knocking it over. One radish falls on the ground but the table doesn’t break into splinters and the air is not filled with flying veggies.
Tumblr media
If you are accustomed to American TV and movies, seeing someone hit a produce table or cart without destroying a massive quantity of produce is positively surreal.
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian realizes that Jin Ling’s personality is an unfortunate combination of Jin Zixuan and Jiang Cheng. He decides that he should try to instill some of Jiang Yanli’s virtues in him. He puts his mask on and starts a conversation with Jin Ling.
Tumblr media
Enter Fairy, the fluffy adorable dog, who is an exemplar of Wei Wuxian's deep fear of dogs. Fairy is also is a catalyst for a sudden onset of broad comedic acting in our leading man. Wei Wuxian screams and runs away as Fairy slooowly chases him.

5 Songs Tag - QL Shows Edition
tagged by @pose4photoml @morkofday and @leonpob. Thank you so much for the tag! 🧡 I love tag games and music, so this is perfect 😊
When you get this, list 5 songs from the Asian QL media that you actually listen to.
🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series. 🎶Non-western tracks only. Let's support Asian music and languages! 🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating. 🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
This is really hard for me! There are so many beautiful OSTs and all are different and special to me 😭 So I am going to go with five favorites from different countries.
I. Korea: Rainbow by Coldin | OST from Love Tractor
I love the series and this song just gives me such a good feeling. The music just fits the series so beautifully. It is light and on the other hand a little bit melancholic. It is about a new love and allowing to be loved and love again and to walk this life together. I love it so much! And yes, he is sang Romatic Devil from the Semantic Error OST 😊 Just another great song!
II. Phillipines: Ride Home by Ben&Ben | OST from Like in the Movies
I know, this song is in englisch, but by a Filipino Band. This song and the scene when it played in the series...just AAAHHHHHH!!!!! I love it so so much! It is so perfect! And when you want to hear more of this great folk-pop band, I can really recommend Leaves or Araw-Araw. They have some really good songs. And if you haven't watched Like in the movies (Gaya Sa Pelikula), you really missed something. Such a good show!
III. China: Wu Ji by Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo | OST from The Untamed
Bold of anyone to think I wouldn't list this song! I mean, it is from the OST of my favorite series ever, sung by the main actors and I just love it SO much! But, to be fair, I would have taken something from Stay With Me, but the OST isn't out yet and I haven't found the song I love so much on Spotify. But this song right here it transports so many emotions for me. Such an epic song! I remember I heard the song before I have watched the series and was just blown away. After that I started the series and yeah, the rest is history. I fell in love with them and the whole story. I have the novels, but not the time to read them yet. I guess I find some time during my upcoming vacation.
IV. Thailand: REDO (ย้อนเวลา) by Krist Perawat | OST from Be My Favorite
The series has taken over my heart and so had this song. And I like his voice, singing or talking. And this song just speaks to my heart. It has a light tone, but the meaning is quite deep, just as the series itself. And I am in love. I guess there are just a few people out there, who don't want to change something in the past, undo some mistakes, make a different choice. Of course it is not possible, but it can be a reminder to just live the best life you can, so you won't regret your choices in the future. Oh man, I am so in love with this series!
V. Japan: 遠い国 by 上野大樹 | OST from Our Dining Table
You know the feeling when you watch something and there is this song and you can't think about anything else until you found the song and you can finally breathe again and just listen to this wonderful music? Yeah, that happend to me with this song. I don't know why, but I really want to cry when I listen to it, because it is so beautiful.
Because my five are full, I give an honorable mention to Twins by Julia Peng. It is from the OST of the taiwanese mini-series Innocent.
Oh, there are so many more good songs from these shows which I love so much and couldn't fit in here 😭
I really don't know who already participated in this, I know it is quite popular right now, but I just tag some people 😊 As always no obligations, just a little Hi, I thought about you 🧡

Born To Fly:
Review, Thinky Thoughts, and Other Nonsense
This is a very good year for Wang Yibo, and by extension for me, because my son's success fills me with much joy. I admit though, I was less than thrilled to go watch a movie about test pilots for him. But love conquers all, and so I went!
Spoiler-free review
Going into this with admittedly low expectations, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised both by how engaging and entertaining the movie was and by how little propaganda there was in it, considering it's essentially a movie about glorifying the Chinese Air Force. Yes, the "enemy combatants" were unintentionally hilarious caricatures, but they were a very tiny part of the plot. The central drama was predominantly internal to Lei Yu (Yibo's character) - at the end of the day it's a film about his personal growth journey. It's also, a surprising amount, about his relationship with his "rival" pilot Deng Fang (played by a very handsome Yosh Yu) and his military daddy, Commander Zhang Ting (played by the delightfully avuncular Hu Jun). There is high drama and high stakes, tears and heart break, and a good amount of homoerotic tension between men in uniform who are forced to train in close quarters. I, for one, will not complain. If anything, the one downside was not enough shirtless scenes in the barracks.
As always, Yibo had fantastic chemistry with his male costars, and like subterranean levels of chemistry (low, very low) with the requisite female love interest (but this isn't about her - she's incredibly unimportant). The Yeekies and the Yose looked spectacular, and we got to see more epidermis than we've seen since he had to take his shirt off for The Untamed. Because he wears a tank top. We live off crumbs, my friends. It is saying a lot that he didn't get upstaged by the cool planes because the flight scenes were pretty fantastic (and also a bit nauseating). There are some stunning cinematic shots in this film and Yibo and the scenery both look great.
Thinky-thoughts
This is just going to be a random list of thoughts that don't belong in a review, but I still wanted to share.
They clearly went out of their way to make Yibo's skin look more "rugged" for this movie, but he's still a babie and also the prettiest 🥺
Tumblr media
Spoilery! But for a movie that makes a big deal about how every life is precious, they don't seem to spend very much time and effort to ensure that they reduce loss of life for their test pilots, especially after major (and surely very expensive) mishaps? Still, I guess we have to balance out the verisimilitude with the drama.
I learned that "enemy combatants" might be assholes, but birds are the real enemy. If you know, you know.
Tumblr media
Still pretty ticked off that Yibo flipped over in that vehicle while making this movie. Seems like maybe that's something they'd like to avoid in the future because in a country of a billion citizens, he's irreplaceable.
Other Nonsense
Okay, if you know me, you know I can't leave here without talking about the ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE! 🥰🥰🥰 Yes, it was a million times more gay in Top Gun, but this is China, and the dudes still manage to have more physical contact than Lei Yu had with the girl "love interest." This is all to say, I expect some hot pilot on pilot fanfics. Looking at all of you, fandom!

Hello.... Can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from MDZS? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Thanks if you want to answer....
yeah sure!
Characters:
5. Lan Sizhui/Lan Jingyi I love their dynamic SO much. They're best friends who have clearly known each other for such a long time, and they're both really interesting characters in their own right! Lan Sizhui is so interesting, what with his Lan upbringing and his Wen heritage, and the fact that he's connecting to both by the end of the book. Lan Jingyi is Lan Sizhui's ride-or-die, protecting his best friend at every opportunity while having the best lines in the entire book, and he makes every scene he's in 100x better.
4. Wen Qing Medical malplractice queen!! But in all seriousness, there's something so viscerally powerful about the fact that she's willing to go against nature itself for her baby brother. She'd both die and kill for Wen Ning, and later for Wei Wuxian. I feel like her type of character (murderous older sister) is kind of rare and I really, really like her. I feel like The Untamed really fleshed out her character and I really appreciated her after I watched it. She's equally capable of nurturing and destroying—a force of nature herself.
3. Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian Fun fact: I hated Lan Wangji when I first read MDZS, and to be honest I'm still so-so on novel Lan Wangji. However, he was easily one of my favorite characters in The Untamed, and watching it made me see him in a whole different light. He doesn't communicate through his words, but through his actions. I think Wang Yibo was perfect casting because he NAILED Lan Wangji's micro-expressions and body language and really brought the character to life. Reading Lan Wangji as autistic also made me understand him a lot more. As for Wei Wuxian, I initially read him as a silly guy and... was right. Despite everything, he stays silly. I do find him a little insufferable pre-death, but I think that was intentional. He probably would have been higher on the list, but while I think he's a really compelling character (and ADHD personified, just like me fr), I'm also very frustrated by him and I don't like how he treats people sometimes. Still, I adore the way he looks after Jin Ling, refuses to let anyone blame Jiang Cheng for anything that happened to him, and takes care of Lan Wangji (towards the end, anyway).
2. Jin Ling Ok he probably would have been at the very top of this list but unfortunately jiang cheng brainrot is real. But CAN WE TALK ABOUT HIM. Over the course of the story, he finds out that his disgraced uncle who insulted him for not having a mom was actually Wei Wuxian reincarnated, then had to contend with the fact that Wei Wuxian was both the reason his parents and grandparents died AND the guy who protected him at every opportunity. Not to mention, he learned that Jin Guangyao, his beloved uncle who gifted him his beloved dog, had orchestrated his parents' death and was ready to kill him too. And what does he do at the end of the novel? He cries. He doesn't seek revenge, he doesn't get angry, he just cries, and he lets go. He chooses not to pursue revenge, because he's seen how the quest for revenge has destroyed everyone around him in one way or another. He's a little shit (because he's an edgy 15 year old) but he's a really intelligent and kind person who loves Jiang Cheng more than anything.
1. Jiang Cheng Some of y'all are going to disagree with me but it must be said. Jiang Cheng is the best MDZS character. Jiang Yanli's love and care taught him how to be loving and caring too. He loved Wei Wuxian, he loved Jin Ling, and he loved his sect. Jiang Cheng never stopped loving Wei Wuxian, even after everything that happened. He hated Wei Wuxian too—that's undeniable—but he also loved him. He kept his belongings intact, he never stopped believing he would come back, he literally gave up his golden core to protect Wei Wuxian. And Jin Ling! He loves Jin Ling so much! Despite having AWFUL parents himself, he was determined not to be that way towards Jin Ling. He did his best to break the generational trauma of his family because he wanted Jin Ling to have it better than he did. When Jin Ling becomes sect leader, he makes sure that he knows that if he EVER needs ANYTHING, he'll provide it to the best of his ability. I could go on for hours about this man. Best MDZS character. He's so full of resentment and hatred and vengeance, but in the end, the thing that always wins out over everything else is his unshakeable love.
Honorable mention: I loved MianMian in the Untamed and wish she got more time to shine in the novel
Favorite moments: 5. Literally anytime Lan Jingyi is in a scene. Every time he opens his mouth it's my favorite scene. He keeps Wei Wuxian humble in a way that only a teenager can. 4. The WangXian scene where Wei Wuxian hides porn in Lan Wangji's book. It starts off so genuinely nice—you can tell Lan Wangji isn't really serious anymore when he tells Wei Wuxian to stfu, and you get the feeling that Wei Wuxian is probably the closest thing Lan Wangji has to a friend. Wei Wuxian draws Lan Wangji a little portrait, and it's genuinely a sweet gesture. Lan Wangji thinks so too—he hasn't ever gotten something like this, and the fact that Wei Wuxian took the time to learn his appearance and commit it to paper makes him feel some type of way. And then, it turns out that everything was just a ruse so Wei Wuxian could prank Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji is,, understandably enraged. It feels cruel that Wei Wuxian would be so insincere just to do that. I kind of hated Wei Wuxian in this scene, but it's one of my favorites because it kind of shows the nature of their initial relationship—half-sincere, but never truly sincere. 3. Xuanwu cave scene. It's so funny and so painful and so sweet. We really see everyone's characters coming out—Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji being selfless protective, Jiang Cheng being capable and responsible, Jin Zixuan being brave and righteous, MianMian being the GOAT, Wang Lingjiao and Wen Chao deserving death, etc. 2. The umbrella scene in the Untamed. It was just so powerful. Lan Wangji putting down his umbrella, which represents the rules and morality of his sect, and just letting the rain mess up his perfect appearance. He doesn't know what's right and wrong anymore, because he loves Wei Wuxian, but everyone is telling him that's wrong. Wei Wuxian himself doesn't know what's right and wrong. Lan Wangji has been thinking in terms of black and white all this time, and for the first time, he finds himself in a gray area. It was just so powerful!! 1. The conversation between Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng after the temple scene at the end. It was just so beautiful. Go read/watch it.

22:  A creation that was difficult to make (but worthwhile!) This bb set is the first thing that comes to mind. The forth gif took an embarassing amount of time to perfect, and I still wasn’t completely happy with the end result. I discovered the fade to black effect accidentally, and wanted to encorporate it in the set, but then I spent around 8 hours perfecting it, and making sure that the text and scenes aligned, and no matter what I did, I wasn’t completely satisfied with it. Even so, I’m so proud of it and I think it ties up the entire gifset so well ♥

On the third anniversary of CQL airing I felt the need to post something about it.
Tumblr media
Because this drama means so much to me… I jumped on the wagon pretty late. I kept seeing posts here about it but didn’t want to fall for the hype, so I put off watching it for a long time. I finally gave in more or less a year later, I think it was late summer of 2020. And I’m so glad that I did. I fell in love with the story, the characters, the setting… It was my first Chinese drama and it blew me away. I started reading the novel soon after (and lots of fics!). 2 years later and I still love this drama so much, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji story changed me. It’s such a beautiful, meaningful story, with so many layers, touching not only on friendship and love but also family, politics, the weight public opinion has and what it can do… I’m not articulate enough to express all that this story is but it left such a big impact on me.
Tumblr media
And of course Wangxian love story. Gave a new meaning to what soulmates really mean. At no point that romance turned cheesy, it’s so beautifully written in all of its moments. And Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo were truly the perfect Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji. No one could have captured their essence and their feelings as well as those two did.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And now almost 2 years later, CQL has an even bigger meaning to me, now that I care about Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo as much as I do.
Another case of me not wanting to give in… When I first saw people “shipping them” I thought it was just another case of fans shipping the actors based on the story, reading too much into things. So I didn’t check on the actors and stayed away from what at the time thought was RPF.
Then a friend of mine (that I didn’t even know had seen CQL) mentioned GGDD, talked about their story and I started to look into things… And months later here I am. A full fledged bjxzsdz turtle.
And so CQL became even more meaningful to me. I’m so thankful to those who produced this drama. To those who fought to have it made. To those who cast all of the actors, each and every one perfect for their roles. For being the place where GGDD had the time and freedom to get close and be free with their feelings. That summer truly must have felt like a dream to them. It brought them so much, and in return gave us so much.
Tumblr media
So thank you A-ling. For being an amazing piece of art. For giving us XZ and WY. For bringing them together. For… True Feelings 💛

how many cpns can you get from a 7 second douyin by wyb? 💚💚💚
The Douyin King is back! I know i’m not the only one who missed his random ass douyin posts. They are very much welcome, he is free to share one everyday. I’m cackling at the comparison going around between WYB and other people. So, the rest of the celebrities and influencers are posting on a regular basis per month and have different topics.
Tumblr media
photos at work, travel photos, interests/hobbies. this line represents the whole year. there is another diagram that shows how many per line, like 1-2 or more. then you have wang yibo 😂😂😂
Tumblr media
line 1 : I'm busy at work and have no time. // line 2: I don’t have time to skateboard, ride a motorcycle or play golf // line 3: Visit my gege’s camping site and the volcano scenery is very good and has a lot of material// line 4: happy and don’t have much time// line 5: Shoot whoever is lucky enough to shoot!
then all the lines after is when he will post — shows that he will share a lot towards the end of the year to keep up with KPI. lol. he is rushing his homework again, to the point that on the video, people are searching what wyb’s kpi mean. which is the engagement metrics he needs to reach and now he gotta work on it, even the fans know and expect it.
the memes are also hilarious! 😂😂😂 ( cat memes below ) basically him working on making his “cool” posts to the internet.
Tumblr media
Honestly, never change yibo. We love you as you are, Our Gremlin Best Actor. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That was a long intro, now let’s move on to the sweets & CPN…..
• @rainbowsky already talked about the messenger bird CPN & how it might be for ZZ’s Hennessy endorsement.
• similarity in how sometimes, they just wanna post an emoji for caption. this one is a cute parallel from 2021 and 2023. If you wanna further clown with WYB using kadian 13 for yizhan then go ahead too 😌
Tumblr media
• it is being compared to him referencing his shoes before, picking up his shoes ( xie zi ) (xz) ; and now it’s another homophonic clue ( jm ) ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Tumblr media
yes we know that you get to meet more often now cause you are both in Beijing! It’s so cool how their language can be used for so many things and you can play with it to send different meanings. international fans could never 💀💀💀💀
• talking about picking up and meeting, cpfs remembered ZZ’s 11/17/21 douyin post. It’s the one with him and a light saber and a sexy transformation. Going by his clothes, I’m thinking it was what he wore during the DC tencent conference and at the time of posting it was already considered as leftover. but I could be wrong, cause he might have worn other leather jackets that year for ads.
anyway, the point is — please compare the background of the rooms. the walls. you know. add the floor too. 👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
look, this isn’t the most unique type of interior. i would say it’s pretty basic like how we clown about hotel curtains. i’m guessing yibo’s is an evisu shoot sometime ago ( cause his hair is not that fluffy anymore idk if his stylist did something to make it like that even with his recent cut ). this place may be a studio of sorts that can be rented out and they just happen to have filmed there.
or… or…..
this could be XZS office. or one of their rented office. Why? this CPN is similar to the one in 2020. How we speculated that the birthday shoot was done in XZS office so ZZ could supervise the direction of the shoot too.
Tumblr media
we also love to talk about how xzs and ybo office are right next to each other ( it’s a fact xzs is close to yuehua building actually ) so maybe that can be an explanation too 😂😂😂 it’s not uncommon for an office to have a separate space to do regular photoshoots so maybe theirs have that. or this could have been done after and wyb dropped off their office and took this.
hahahahahaha! so many explanations all because of a wall. that’s the kind of life we turtles have 🙃
Personally, i’m hoping for a 24 hour relay between them. 🙏🏼
-END.

Summary of what happened at the Hidden Blade Guangzhou RoadShow.
I have been away from my phone all day today so I only found out about what happened a few hours ago. I don't like bringing weibo/twitter drama to tumblr but everything that's been happening made me really angry.
It was expected that the antis would definitely try and ruin it as much as could cause they've done that every single time something important happened in yibo's career. But to think they would sink as low and involve big directors and actors for their petty and selfish acts is a new low even for them.
While yesterday was Hidden Blades first release in cinemas, it did exceedingly well for a film that's undoubtedly different from the usual spring festival movie genres. The GP and fans both had positive reviews about the movie and Yibo's acting.
As far as I know the hateful words and reviews against Yibo have been increasing. Antis who weren't even in China were sending reviews that they hated the movie etc when the movie hasn't even been released anywhere else? Give me a break. (Below antis leaving reviews but their location is from out of China)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're trying to suppress the positive response from the public on weibo, saying hurtful things towards the movie, director and actors. It's really disgusting.
You see Cheng Er and the rest of the cast and crew and anyone Yibo has worked with before know how sincere and dedicated he is to his work. For Hidden Blade especially they've praised his acting, his professional behaviour and it's not just one person it's the director, it's Tony Leung himself, it's Wang Chuajun, Da Peng and so many others.
It's actually breaking my heart when I saw the videos from today because why do they forget he's also a human being? That's he's only 25 years old?
Idk what image everyone has of Yibo in their mind but to me he's really very innocent at heart. Never in my years of watching him have I seen him have malice or hatred against anyone.
At the Roadshow today, despite everything that was happening he was really very thankful towards everyone who came, especially to the audience who came to watch the movie more than once because they loved watching it the first time and enjoyed the details.
One encounter today that really moved me was between him and a fan who was sharing her experience of watching the movie.
Translation: I would like to add one more thing. I was asked to convey this message from our group. Though we are Yibo's fans, after watching Hidden Blade, we turned from his fans to his movie fans. Thank you for being a good actor. We wish hidden blade success.
Yibo was really holding back tears 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cheng Er talked about how he really appreciates the sincerity the audience who watched the movie showed towards the film and how much he appreciates Yibo as an actor.
You see this is probably the first time Cheng Er had to experience such disturbing behaviour towards his film. Yes he's a grown man with years of experience with him but this is not negative reviews because people didn't like the film. This is because of their hatred for Yibo. And Cheng Er knows all of this cause repeatedly he has spoken or either posted against whatever lies the antis have spewed against the film and Yibo.
Cheng er: As all of you are audiences who really watched Hidden Blade, I believe our efforts including yibo’s will live up to your expectations. He has worked really hard —his image & expression in his eyes. I'm very thankful to such an excellent actor. I only dare to say this because all of you have watched the movie. I don’t dare to praise him recently because… [Audience asking that he should praise Yibo more] so I hope people who really watched the movie can sincerely spread the true situation and quality of our movie (link to video)
Once again despite everything, Yibo isn't forcing anyone to like him. All he asks is to be sincere in their remarks about it cause the movie isn't just him. These blackened tags and reviews affect all the people who have worked day and night for Hidden Blade to come to life. He accepts the criticism if it's genuinely because of his acting but not if it's just because their hatred for him.
Yibo: Like what the director and that audience said, a movie can create a lot of thoughts but you still need to continue with your life. For Hidden Blade, I hope we can exchange sincerity with sincerity. We made this movie with our heart, so we sincerely hope that people will like the movie. I also hope that audiences can sincerely appreciate the movie. Of course, you can also not like like the movie after watching it, there’s no problem. [Fans: we like it!] Exchange sincerity with sincerity. Thank you.
I do want to say that despite the antis efforts for the smear campaign, the passerby comments and almost all of the general public had a good experience while watching the movie and relayed good reviews. (Some of them down below + Link to one of the film critics review)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing is I'm really happy with how the GP is talking about HB. Infact Yibo was very happy during the other times in the roadshow. He kept smiling, talked so animatedly and with enthusiasm it was delightful to see him that way. But what bothered me most about the whole thing is that this situation was big enough for Yibo (who doesn't let useless remarks affect him) and Cheng Er to be bothered by it.

I thought you might be interested in reading some reviews from 'non-fan' film viewers about the controversy over the Douban ratings for Hidden Blade.
How much is "Hidden Blade" worth? Douban gave "Hidden Blade" a score of 6.8, with one-star and two-star ratings accounting for 20%. I carefully read hundreds of one-star and two-star negative reviews, and none of them were serious, and even lacked evaluation of the movie itself. The black actors who came up first accounted for the vast majority of negative reviews. These evaluations are clearly counterintuitive. Tony Leung has no acting skills? Zhou Xun has no acting skills? Huang Lei has no acting skills? Wang Yibo has no acting skills? Is it unconscionable to lie?
Especially for those who haven't watched the movies, and who started playing black Wang Yibo and have no acting skills, can they finish watching the movies and talk about specific plots. In fact, after watching "Hidden Blade", as long as you keep your conscience in your stomach, you will know that the young actor Wang Yibo not only has acting skills, but with the blessing of director Cheng Er, it is possible to win the best newcomer award at some film festivals. This young actor not only has acting skills, but is already one of the best actors of his age.
And director Cheng Er, what level is he? Everyone knows it. From "Border Situation" to "Romantic Disappearance History", which one is not nominated for numerous awards at major film festivals? Obviously, the film festival owes Cheng Er a best director. And this "Hidden Blade", I personally think, at least in domestic film festivals, it is possible to win the big prize. Isn't it a matter of conscience to give such an excellent movie one or two stars? Our excellent Chinese movies can't be ruined like this, can they?
I give the movie "Hidden Blade" a 9.
(source)
At present, I have watched "Manjianghong", "Wandering Earth 2" and "Hidden Blade". All three films are excellent. Both "Manjianghong" and "Wandering Earth 2" have received matching ratings and box office. Today I mainly want to talk about "Hidden Blade".
Because of the countless negative reviews on the Internet, I was about to give up watching the movie, but because I loved the first two films directed by Cheng Er, I bought the ticket with the mentality of trying it out. This movie meets all my expectations for a perfect movie. It’s meaningless without a single shot or line in the whole film. Of course, the film has a certain viewing threshold. At the beginning, many plots will be suspicious. Is this necessary? It’s even a little confusing or incomprehensible. Until the end, all the metaphors will be unraveled, and then you will start to think about it, and want to go back and watch it again. The last time I had this extreme movie-watching experience was "Heart Labyrinth" and "Looking The Missing Guest" and "The Witness in Pursuit".
Douban has not yet opened a score yet. Seeing very polarized reviews, there are many one-star negative reviews. I guess the ratings of the movie will not be too high at the beginning, but this is definitely a movie that is currently seriously underestimated. I look forward to word-of-mouth and box office counterattack.
Make a prediction it will win a prize.

please talk about the bl actors you find absolute shit I love controversial opinions
LMAO puta out here tryin to get me cancelled, rejected, cast out, exiled
sure why not, putting this under a cut b/c no one likes seeing bad opinions on ppl they like so enter at your own risk etc etc:
tbh there's not a ton of them b/c I haven't watched as many shows as other folks. Like, watching shows is difficult tbh especially Thai ones which are like an hour long each episode and have a lot of filler I just can't find it in my soul to do it okay. BUT out of the shows I have watched I've been left pretty unimpressed by:
Ohm from Until We Meet Again: I know he's really well liked, but I'm sorry my dude can't act. Flat. I probably have the most firm opinion on him and I just find myself so thoroughly unimpressed. I think what doesn't help is that Fluke is a good actor.
And I don't just mean the crying, like Fluke, Gun, and First are all good criers right? It's a fandom joke at this point but like, that ability isn't what makes them good actors. You can see their experience on screen, in how they embody the characters they play, the subtle changes in their physicality, how they line read, the way they interact with their costars.
I've said before but I find Pharm to be a pretty boring character, but Fluke gives him enough charm on screen that I don't outright dislike him. Meanwhile Dean is just boring. He's BORING. And Ohm doesn't have the skills to make him not boring. Stoic characters are actually really difficult to play, I actually really liked the performance of Wang Yibo in The Untamed b/c without the use of animation LWJ is a difficult character to play b/c he's so internal and stoic outwardly. But Yibo gives him some humanity with his line reads and his eyes (the lantern scene comes to mind) and I don't even LIKE that show.
Ohm just doesn't have the skills to make the standard stoic romantic hero work, he's to flat, he relies to much on his innate physicality to carry the performance. All that said I haven't watched one of his recent shows so maybe he got better idk!
Bright from 2Gether: Idk if this is popular or not and I didn't even like 2Gether but talk about another dude who can't act woof. Bright reminds me of the mixed actors Netflix always casts in their teen romcom sequels that are hotter than the basic white dude love interest but never win b/c why would they? Anyways he can't act, I liked the other dude Win way more. He had great comedic timing and even when Bright was required to act like happy or joyful it came off as ~Acting~
Off from Theory of Love/Not Me: So lemme say that I don't think Off is a bad actor not like Bright and Ohm flat lmao I just think Gun out acts him at like every corner. I think Off lacks charisma but that's so subjective so I don't talk about it much b/c I know ppl love him/OffGun but like, I don't see it much. Idk OffGun is nice, they're nice! But they're just nice. They're chemistry doesn't wow me or blow me away or anything there's something I find really restrained about them? Like they've been working together for so long they feel more like really good friends than that passionate I want and love you type romance. I will say tho I think Off picks some good projects so good for him
Earth/Mix: FML this one's gonna get me okay so like I don't think either Earth or Mix are bad actors but I think they're a bit idk overhyped? I found 1000 Stars mind numbingly boring - except for Mix's char I loved the char but found the performance a bit lackluster - and they're the least interesting part of Moonlight Chicken for me. They remind me of OffGun where they're such good friends and they've only really worked with each other mainly (I know Earth's worked with other screen partners) that I think it's developed some bad acting habits and they're to comfortable. They don't give me that passionate I want and love you type romance. Which for 1000 Stars, totally fine it wasn't that type of show but I really felt that missing bit in Moonlight Chicken.
Mix was trying hard to give bedroom eyes (and I do think he succeeded!) but tbh I didn't feel the sexual tension between them, I didn't feel the "this is a bad idea but I want you to much to care" vibe. I honestly think Earth was a miscast anyway b/c the char is supposed to be almost 40 and he's fucking 28 irl it's as unbelievable as Jennifer Lawrence at 20-something playing a 40-something in American Hustle.
Earth also plays mostly stoic characters and I think they often come off as boring. I think he's actually pretty funny? His comedic timing is pretty good but he doesn't get to play fun characters! He doesn't have enough experience to give weight to these old characters they keep casting him as.
I think you can really see the difference in the scenes with First and Mix actually. Mix was better but you could see First was leading those scenes. What's truly frustrating is I think Mix could grow as an actor if he wasn't always paired up with Earth. One of the reasons I think First, Gun, and Fluke are so good is b/c of their experience. They act against other people, they take out there projects at times, being locked in a "pairing/ship" just hurts an actors development imo it's limiting and I selfishly hate it
It also doesn't help that Thai BL usually only has shallow secondary relationships between the main chars and supporting characters. Like, one of my gripes with 1000 Stars is all the supporting cast are severely under developed to the point they really are just avatars for "kind village people" they're more of an ideal than actual characters yes even the doctor who was just the standard "best friend who helps the mains hook up".
not to harp on Kinnporsche but one of the best things about the show is the time it takes to make characters interact with other chars outside of their romances. Pete's friendships with Arm, Tankhun, and Pol feel genuine. The mean girls club of Big and Ken feels real (you know those coworkers, you've HAD those coworkers), Porsche and Chay's relationship feels REAL and sincere and valued, Porsche's relationship with Tankhun is funny yes, but contrasted with how Tankhun acts around Kinn and Korn. Kim's isolation adds to his storyline. Kinn's relationship with his brothers is paralleled with Porsche and Chay's. Vegas relationship with Kinn, Gun, Porsche, Pete even Tawan are all so VASTLY different it's amazing to see.
What also helps is seeing what actors bring out what. Like, Bible is a good example, the energy he has with Apo is different than what he had with Build. Like obviously Vegas "love" for Porsche was fake while it was real for Pete but making that distinction clear in your performance matters. And isn't as easy as folks would think.
ok I'm beat that's all for now folks lol

Hiiii!!!! I. Have. Talked. To. My. Crush. She. Likes. The Owl House. And. I. Promised. To. Draw. Something. For. Her. Birthday. And. She. Is. So. Nice. To. Me.
BUT SHE HAS A GIRLFRIEND 😭😭 Although I'm really happy for her they look so so so cute together!!! She's so nice to me tho, tho we dont have anything much to talk about anymore. I befriended her and thats enough. I hope they have a happy life together and that she'll always be happy!!!
How are you doing? Are you feeling alright? I hope you're feeling okay!!! ( I love your style so much, even more than anything I've loved in my life. You're too cute and pretty and nice and kind for this world. ) For the colors, every except gold( ish ) I don't feel comfortable flirting with you, but I really really really love you! Hope life treats you well!!!!
I'm going through a minor Wang Yibo addiction right now. His voice sounds so good and him and Xiao Zhan ( platonically ) are better than the world. Yeah I watched the untamed and I am going through another phase. Xue Yang. Also there's this character who's name is Wen Ning and he's shy. And sells radishes. And he's a dead man. A very kind dead man. He is really kind and I love him way too much. Just seeing his face just cheers me up tho most of the time he's staring into my soul.
Today I showed my Haechan ( ♡ ) photocard to my dad to see if he could guess the age, and he guessed it right. So my dad is a boomer, such a boomer, but somehow, he knows some stuff. I sang 'I wonder how' once, and then he sang 'I wonder why' I was fucking terrified. Seriously I had not expected that. Also the song Bamboleo once trended in a community I was in, and he knew that too. He still is very much a boomer, he doesn't know who Justin Bieber is. He only knows the Beatles, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. He probably doesn't even know Queen.
I went to my new school, and ran away with a panic attack day one. I got chased by the same teacher thrice. She terrifies me now. I hate her for how she acted. I said 'leave me alone' everytime and everytime she was like 'okay.' And then she came back with 'i only wanted to check if you're on the right side of the train station' and 'maybe it'd be better if your dad came picking you up' you know what? Fuck off. I hate her now and nothing will probably change it 😭
— sneeze ♡♡♡
Hiii! Oh yay I'm glad you were able to at least become friends and get to know each other. I think a friendship would be just as fulfilling. I hope you get to have more things to talk about in the future. And it's so sweet you're going to draw her something for her birthday I'm sure she'll just love it.
I've heard Wang Yibo's name before but I don't remember where he sounds so familiar. I just went to check and hes been on shows with Yixing that's how I know him of course. I figured it was through my husband Yixing. Also Yibo has the same birthday as me! The only person I know with my birthday is Yungblud and I love him. Also Yungblud and Yibo were born same day same year I love finding birthday twins.
The older generation does tend to know at least a few things from later generations. But not much but a few unless you have a mom who used to be a groupie for white snake or guns and roses or a grandma who was a hippie who went to Woodstock clearly they are the coolest people of their generation. Also Gen X are automatically the coolest generation of them all. Like Millennials honestly an anxious mess of a generation as one I can say that we're a mess. Gen Z still finding their footing mostly teens but definitely seem the most tame compared in the since there's this puritanicalness I haven't seen in my generation or in Gen X it's fascinating.
I kinda understand maybe her intentions but within the situation chasing you down multiple times isn't the right way to go about it would have been best to let you be and calm down cause she's just adding fuel to the fire and frightening you there's definitely better things she could have done. I'm so sorry it was a hard first day.
And I'm feeling fine I've had an odd obsession with cashews lately I've bought four containers of cashews this month and one of them was a pound so far this month and they're all gone it's all I want to eat. I have this thing where I will just eat the same food over and over if no one stops me. And you're so cute! Oh my gosh. Thank you! I've actually been having a fashion crisis just where I have clothes that don't match. I turned one top into two tops. It was a long sleeve top with big sleeves so I was able to get two tops out of it but I don't have skirts the right color or the prints are too busy. But I'm so picky that I can't find exactly what I want till Loey Lane, a YouTuber posted an outfit and I looked up the store and I finally found clothes I love in my size. There's one skirt I love it's sequin but its a micro mini skirt and I love it but there's a front slit and I just know it'll be too short I only have one micro mini skirt and it's just long enough to be decent. Can't bend over but it's decent. But I want the sequiny one. But.

I love short skirts but I just know it's too short but it's so pretty. I'll think about it. But this is what I already decided one.

Kinda obsessed with wearing bikini tops as regular tops it's so cute and I just needed a little cardigan cause all I have is velour zip hoodies. And I just need a plain skirt and I like getting longer skirts cause I can hike it up shorter to a length I like.
