Edit: It actually appears to be the first of a new CGI tiktok channel. This is a sub-genre on douyin where creators, likely from visual effects companies, show off designs and short videos that mix CGI elements with real footage. Some channels likes this are more cinematic, as seen above, while others create short videos without strong narrative elements.

My guess is that this channel will feature more short videos featuring this character in particular.

Fun fact: this video sparked a mini make-up/transformation trend.

Hey guys, so here’s the situation: this little snippet of yexie fic basically appeared in my brain complete and I wrote it down last week but keep looking at it and poking my brain like...hey where’s the rest?  And it’s not obliging.

And since I have both other WIPs, and I have a deadline for a zine fic, and I’m leaving on a trip in a month, I don’ t have time for this right now.

So for now, y’all can enjoy this beginning of a yexie thing. Maybe I elaborate on it eventually, maybe I don’t...

When they find the Scorpion King buried in snow, clutching the remains of his yifu’s sedan chair, only half dead, well, somehow it’s Ye Baiyi who ends up responsible for the little shit.  Qin Huaizhang's disciple and his idiotic zhiji are presumably enjoying the benefits of a little alone time behind a wall of ice and snow in the Armory.  So who else has a chance of keeping this kid from enacting any horrors when he eventually wakes up, presumably pissed the hell off.

So he takes care of him.  And after a week or so, he does wake.  It’s a hell of an embarrassing scene, witnessing the kid’s messy grief for his damned yifu.  Ye Baiyi resolves to keep sharp objects out of his reach with even more determination than he would have for his own safety.  

So once the kid is back on his feet, literally if not figuratively, he starts dragging him with him as he wanders from town to town, eating at a succession of nearly identical inns and taverns.  That’s when the escape attempts begin.  

That keeps them both occupied.  The Little Scorpion with waiting for Ye Baiyi to be distracted or go to sleep, and Ye Baiyi with pretending to not be paying attention.  It’s not like he really needs much sleep anyway. Sometimes he lets the kid get entirely out of the inn, out of the village even, before pouncing on him.  

Eventually, he has to admit to himself...he’s having fun.  Seeing the frustration on that far too pretty face, the exasperation when he appears out of nowhere and grabs him —  he feels like the blood in his old veins is moving more swiftly.  

Perhaps things have gotten out of hand, he reflects belatedly, the night that he’s binding the Scorpion’s hands to the frame of his bed with rope — and sees the kid’s dark eyes grow even darker.  Dilating.  And his breathing has changed: shallower, coming out as little pants.  Oh shit.  He’s into this.

And what’s more...as Ye Baiyi freezes, staring down at him, eyes locked — he feels his heart pounding in his chest in a way he’d almost forgotten.  Feels his traitorous body giving the lie to his claim to be too old for sex.

He springs back, horrified at his reaction, at the fact that the brat has clearly seen and noticed it.  Fuck. He draws a knife from his sleeve and slices through the rope binding the other with one clean swipe.  He backs away from the bed, from the far too attractive figure in it, waving his hand vaguely towards the door.

Once his back is turned he hears the opening and closing of the door behind him.  He does his best to ignore the sudden ache in his chest.  

However, in the morning, when he goes down for breakfast, there the kid is, sitting at a table in the early morning sunlight, looking fresh and perfect. He has the audacity to wave a hand at the innkeeper and in a moment a feast appears on the table, all of Ye Baiyi’s favorite morning dishes, hot and ready.  He scowls as he sits across from him, but begins eating all the same.  The Little Scorpion looks at him with something approaching actual fucking smugness.  

When he leaves town, Xie Wang follows like a shadow, and never tries to escape again.

Worst AU game: Ye Baiyi/Xie Wang have to compete on the newlywed game

I burst out laughing as soon as I saw this one!

This is clearly part of some plan to foil Zhao Jing's evil plot, don't ask me how, maybe just bringing Xie Wang out into the public eye so he can't be so easily done away with. Xie'er definitely didn't want to do it, but it was the best option on such short notice (or so Du Pusa claimed), and he's decided to just grit his teeth and take the public loss and accompanying humiliation even though this stupid game does not matter, or so he keeps telling himself, except... they keep winning? He knows why *he* knows so much about Ye Baiyi, he always does very thorough recon on potential targets, but why on earth has Ye Baiyi noticed so much about him??? Terrible. Horrible man. No one should get to be so insightful about him. And he's doing in public! On television! Xie'er will have to kill him after all. (Ye Baiyi may make some jokes about being satisfied with the little death instead later.)
