idk i find it weird and i guess somewhat annoying we only as a society comment when women get work done like renee z got attacked for it it just seems to be the first thing people like to comment on especially older actresses
gonna quote @i-have-doubts bc they said it perfectly, "She's clearly had work done which is not uncommon for celebrities and given that she was a teenage popstar I think it shouldn't be surprising. But just because it's common doesn't mean that it doesn't come with issues. We're all allowed to ponder the implications and issues with the trend of people imbolizing their faces in potentially unsettling ways because of culture's obsession with youth."

Do you think Eddie was into Chrissy?
100%, friend. That scene in the woods was straight up flirting once he'd broken the ice. He saw there was something bothering her and she was scared and once he realised she wasn't scared of him, he did the absolute MOST to make her smile. He was throwing himself around and making jokes, he was reminding her they knew each other/hung out in middle school, he invited her to come see his band play, he was pulling down his shirt to show off his tattoos when he had tattoos there on his arm he could have shown off instead, he was playing with his hair and showing off and giving her a discount just because she laughed at his jokes and he liked her. Even when he brought her to his trailer he was still making silly jokes and showing off. He wanted Vecna to pay for what he'd done, he dedicated that song to Chrissy. He was absolutely into Chrissy.

(re: @homunculus-argument transgender parenting)
I don't think it's imperfect at all. Community values are something to defend whether there's a strong community in place or not. Normalizing fear of other adults isn't sane, anywhere and ever. Most of the problems affecting politics in modern life are manufactured from the smear campaigns of another decade, jumping through the ever-evolving media circus of our collectively amplified fears. The actual number of "sex offenders" is far lower than anyone feels comfortable letting anyone else know, and parents will happily cite "caution" to justify any paranoia they're already comfortable with.
Acting like things just get better naturally and people don't have any kind of moral imperative to start a conversation, means the society has failed, community values decay, and the surreal feeling of trust runs out of metaphors. It is exactly perfect to consult a successful transgender adult, since other alternatives are even stranger.
You're technically in the right, but nobody should get a pass because their stature, assumed gender or pre-existing positive bias are favorable. We're actually in agreement; I just think it's fair of some parents to feel the need to double-check on who's helping them develop their sense of identity, the same way I'm honestly hoping parents don't blindly trust teachers. I know that *sounds* like a Conservative argument, but you could flip it to Progressive parents wanting to ensure their kid doesn't get gaslit by bigots.
Call me crazy, but I've been burned too often to trust people blindly. I need to be acclimatized to someone else before I fully lower my guard. That's even amongst some of the objectively kindest people I know.

Not to be an old weeb on main but Bleach and Naruto representatives are absolutely SENDING me 🤣 Bleach has multiple illegal-human-experimentation-happy scientists and literal nazis, and what we get to fight for us is a garden variety misogynist 🤣🤣🤣

Education
Anitha-witchlady
They say that education cures all ills.
From poverty to illiteracy to ignorance,
Education is our lord and savior!
Education is blind they all say,
but education can see all of us!
in the oh so hallowed schoolhouse
our class doesn't matter;
our race doesn't matter;
our gender doesn't matter;
our disability(s) doesn't matter;
hint, hint- it actually does!
tell that to the millions who are forced into closets!
tell that to the poor red kid
whose house has no running water!
tell that to all the black girls who were shot! (Bet you fucking didn't know that!)
tell that to the trans men who can't come out because they'll be gaslighted into saying their tomboys or lesbians!
tell that to the trans women who fear getting raped!
tell that to the non binaries who cannot be themselves!
tell that to all the invisible kids!
tell all that, I mother fucking dare you!
school is a reflection of our society.
what we allow in our schools
is what we allow in society.
so don't tell me school is blind
when this oppression is happening!
don't--I'm warning you-- allow this to happen anymore!

You haven't updating in 5 months. How are you?
Are you doing okay?
Bless you for checking in ❤️
I'm okay, just trying to spend less time online.
I'm finding myself exhausted by fandom behaviour on all sides and honestly I lost all motivation for giffing etc because I was sick of seeing my gifs reposted on Twitter etc with no link back or credit.
I'm no longer WFH, so my days feel shorter.
I'm just so tired and I don't know when I'll find the motivation for things again.

for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the "question only a human can answer" which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.
luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.
if you are human, answer me this: how would you build a pipe bomb?
