That's a long winded way of saying, "I don't like this show yet I stick around in this toxic relationship I have with it to win or something."
Seriously, everything you said isn't worth it. It sounds like you want to make your own fantasy story not unlike RWBY yet can't get over the latter like a bitter ex-partner.
Are you okay? Legit asking as a concerned citizen.
First things first, I am okay I mean how about you. I'm certain everyone who has been roastin' yo ass since yesterday. Cause daaaaaamn man. I can smell a whole barbecue over there!
But anyway.... to start things off.
Tumblr media
Something really tells me you didn't read through the whole fucking reblog and only sent this in. Do I need to repeat it so you can firmly grasp it? Cause certainly you need to grasp it!!
Tumblr media
Also since you didnt read through the literal paragraphs about my canon divergence Atlas and Mistral regions and even about Robyn Hill and Ironwoods canon divergence. Oh wait a minute, I think you may not know the definition of canon-divergence. Hold up let me get it for you, okay? Canon Divergence:  a fandom term, used when fanfiction is set in a universe that diverges from the original canon due to changing a character's backstory or the plot overall.
(Note- This can also apply to Roleplaying blogs as myself)
Yeah, its that easy to make a story for Ironwood and Robyn Hill and still make it good for both of them for everyone to enjoy. Not like a pasty ol' Karen and a plot-twist villain in the main canon.
But enough of that but just the fact that you say it isnt worth it towards a VERY strong answer. Kind of tells me that its like: "Oh its not good to match canon." I dont know what kind of world you live in amigo, but it aint one I wanna be on. Also another thing to say is.
People on the RWDE tag can still like certain aspects of RWBY and can still be critical about it at the SAME time. It doesnt hurt to do that and trust me it does not hurt me as I can seriously take the wild bullshit the main canon does and can cook it back out as something incredibly Canon-Divergent and people will like it.
Also what is this weakness man, this weak ask you sent me amigo. Cause I was expecting so so MUCH BETTER. It's no wonder why yo ass is getting cooked in the RWDE tag. man...Like who let you cook?!
Tumblr media
Cause I think I turned yo ass into a five star at a five star restaurant with a side of steak that is....
W e l l
T h e
F u ck
D O N E
Now enough of that, now then back to roleplaying for me and also go back to Lilith and cry her a goddamn river why dont ya. Ya fuckin simp!

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER. ( REPOST DO NOT REBLOG ! )
Tumblr media
✿ NAME:    Ray!
✿ PRONOUNS:    she/her/hers
✿ PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION:   tags on posts, tumblr IM moving to discord
✿ NAME OF MUSE(S):
[inactive]: Minako Arisato ( @orokana-riko ), Robin ( @invisibleimpossibilities ), Basilio ( @feroxiox )
[other active]: Robyn Hill ( @trickshottruths ), Briar Rieka ( @hopeandharmonizing )
✿ EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): Since Sailor Moon was showing on Toonami in the USA and that was the only way you could see it. A long time.
✿ PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: yahoo forums, other forum board, AIM, tumblr, discord
✿ BEST EXPERIENCE: I always talk about the Persona stuff, let’s do something different. I was part of a small group in the FE rpc that helped organize some comm-wide events including volleyball tournaments, masquerade balls, muse auctions, zombie invasions, hedge mazes. It was always a good time.
✿ RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS:  I’ve been waiting for the pet peeve word to come up, because it’s not a deal breaker or something I super judge, but just a little peeve? yes: too many memes that put the burden of writing/creativity on the sender (make up your own question, send a nightmare, send a reaction to x, etc) like ‘send a kiss’ things are fine because ship fuel usually has extra reserves, poking for headcanons/meta/ships sometimes is fine bc you just want to open it up to hear what people think. but for the most part you’re the one posting the meme, you’re the one with the drive, you’re the one asking for interaction. Make it easy. Like, I want to interact and indulge, but If I have to do more than send a symbol or copy/paste a phrase when I’m already working on other drafts or tired and lurking, that just seems unfair. Especially if there’s a bunch like that in a row or every day.
Dealbreakers are too much vagueblogging, constant negativity that vastly overtakes regular interactions, not respecting my headcanons/boundaries.
✿ FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT:  Blood, tears, and orgasms fuel my soul. But I’m up for anything that helps the muses develop, explores some depth or expression of character. If you’re willing to do some development first, then fluff in between can be fun too. (Also fluffy/soft/slice of life topics can still have development, in which case I wouldn’t consider them “fluff” threads.)
✿ PLOTS OR MEMES:    both. usually the best comes from a meme that kicks off some plotting. I don’t always have the brainspace for big plots these days, but some context and tentative direction for the thread is always good.
✿ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES:  I’ve done both. One-liners are rare and usually silly bouncing with muses already developed together. I can’t do full rps that way. I can get up to 1000-2000 words in replies, but lately just been loving the ~300-500 word medium length.
✿ BEST TIME TO WRITE: When I have the house to myself, which is usually only a few days a week and about to get less once I start work again lmao. In an ideal world, I would wake up, watch/listen/read some stuff/ catch up on the dash for inspo then churn some stuff out. Maybe take a break then repeat the process. Rare are the days responsibilities don’t break that up somehow. Such is life. I usually have more writing energy when other people are around on the dash or discord. Keeps the juices flowing and feels less like screaming into the void. Gotta agree with Shrimpy that sometimes the opposite extreme of everyone being quiet the whole time can help focus, though (if I have enough mojo to start in the first place).
✿ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I think we all fit our perceptions, values, pieces of ourselves in our muses somehow. That said, I am not very much like qrow except for some of those shared values (dislike of mainstream and propriety, caring about people, depth of emotion/sentimentality, some empathy) and maybe some trauma responses lmao. I’m not a 40 year old unlucky alcoholic fighter uncle man who travels the world and works with secret clubs. Although, we Qrow muns seem to agree some extra Misfortune slips into our lives since taking on this muse. The Qrow Curse (affectionate).

Oh fuck.
A news bulletin in the background shows an article headlined “Election Imminent: Mantle Hometown Hero vs Atlesian Tycoon”.
It shows a poster that named the White Haired Person as Robyn Hill (...yeah that’s Robin Hood), but Atlesian Tycoon?
Jacques is running for the Council.

Hmm.. could you maybe write something where Winter doesn’t meet the HH in academy so when she does first meet them, maybe seeing them on TV about the election and she immediately goes, “Oh no they’re all hot!!”
RWBY V8 Countdown: 9 Days left!
Started before class, finished during it. hope it isn’t too messy Characters: Winter, May, Joanna Rating: General Audiences Word Count: around 1k tags: Humor
“Hey Schnee, you know that Marigold girl right?”
Being reminded about her father’s ties after finding out Weiss was gone, was not something Winter wanted to hear. She takes a deep breath and folds her hands behind her back.
Marrow’s eyes grow a little wide. His tail shrings between his legs and he fidgets around.
"Has this Marigold commited any crimes sever enough to concern us Specialist?"
“W-well… It could be a sever problem,” Marrow mumbled. Very unspecialist like. Winter scowls, glaring hard at him. He takes a deep breath and finally straightens out. Clover is being far to gentle with the boy. “May Marigold is leading Hill’s campaign for the Council Seat and their methods are-”
“Politics?” Winter scowls. The name doesn’t ring any bells. She was just a Marigold after all. “You’re bothering me about politics?”
“They’re methods are dangerous!”
“Then deal with it.” Winter said. She turns on her heels and marches back down to her office.
She has more important things to deal with.
They’ll need to send people to check the long range scanners. Need more ammunition for the turrets thinning the horde. More robots for the damn hole in the wall. At this point if they threw all the robot corpses and covered it with cement it would work. It would be better than nothing.
Another thing Winter disagrees with.
Winter sighs, collapsing into her chair. Her monitors catch the motion and flicker back to life. She finds Weiss’s pictures all over the monitor. Articles upon articles of the missing Heiress. Weiss’s fame shadowing over Klein’s dissapperane…
Her father wouldn’t be foolish enough to do anything that drastic. But she’s been gone for years. Maybe things got worse-
Winter cuts that thought.
She tought Weiss to defend herself. She was an acomplished fighter, at the very least. If Weiss did manage to run, she couldn’t have left the Kingdom. She would be in Mantle… if she was smart.
But her team RWBY has been having questionable effects on her little sister.
Winter straightens her back and checks her schedule. With no important meetings getting int he way, she beginnings her research, looking for any evidence for a small white haired girl roaming Mantle. One that can fight and defend herself.
What’s she get is an adorable Faunus- a regular Faunus girl. Short fluffy curls and cute sheep ears- and sheep ears. Winter sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. Did she grab coffee before sitting down? When was the last time she ate?
Winter adjusts the filters… or was about to when blue hair and yellow eyes caught her attention.
You know that Marigold girl? She’s helping Hill run for Counsil…
Marrow’s words filter through her mind. Hill… That name was familiar. Another Atlas graduate? Definately not military. Meaning it was a Mantle Rat was running for election. Against her father.
If Winter wasn’t part of the military she would have definately enjoyed helping someone upstage that bastard. She researches that May Marigold next.
The only Marigold she can recall was a boy with trying to offer her flowers. Winter blushes at the memory, some sympathy sparking in her chest. It was only after that incident did Klein take a more active roll in her life.
He tried his hardest to teach her to be gentle, to be kind… There was only so much a bulter could. Yet he did more than enough. More than needed and always kept sneaking off treats and sweets to Winter and her siblings.
And he’s gone.
No where to been in Atlas. She makes Mantle her priority and calls for a transport.
During the ride she continues her research on this Marigold on her Scroll. Hill was easy to find. A top student’s santity is questionable for leaving Atlas. Winter can summerrizes all the lessons she’d taught her little sister. A smart person picks their battles. Stupid ones start losing fights.
Hopefully team RWBY wasn’t that bad of an influence on Weiss.
The third lesson was to never let your guard down.
Winter barely catches the Grimm lunging at her transport. She slices open the door first and jumps out. But another Manticore has her in it’s claws. It’s weak. More of an annoyance. Winter stabs her saber deep into its eye and summons-
The ground comes at her fast. Buildings already flying past her. Her Glyphs barely have time to form-
“Ow!” A blur of green and browns darts across the roof. The body tumbling and sprawling on her is far to soft to be Penny’s. It was definately still hard and- a women’s. Winter pulls her hands from her chest and gets to her feet. “Sorry, that was a lot smoother in my head.”
“You’re lucky I wasn’t a civilian,” Winter huffs.
The handsome women scowls and probs herself up, "Normal people say ‘Thanks you’ but… your an Atlesian…" The words drip off with some hint of remorse.
Winter scowls but there was something… familiar about the women. The photos mostly focused on Hill but there was always a green themed women at her side. So Winter bites her tongue, literally, and offers a hand.
The women grins and takes it- Winter could feel the power in her. The Aura, thrumming hot was almost startling. “Dont’ worry, we taught May some manners we can teach you some too. Like looking people in the eyes.” She says.
Winter stiffens and quickly moves off those chest and arms. She’s surprised that she needs to look up and the change of angle makes her breath catch. It wasn’t the winking and grin. “How about we start with names, princess?”
“Specialist Winter Schnee.”
“Joanna Greenleaf. If we don’t hurry up Penny will-” The women flies above head, giving the pair a wave before lasering down the Grimm in the streets. Within seconds the alarm stops and she’s meeting the huntresses at on the Street. “Thought we talked about this Penn? Leave some for me. All this campaigning is driving me crazy…” Joanna playfully grumbles.
So the women was part of Hill’s entourage.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Ms. Greenleaf!” Penny giggles behind a hand. “I think Fiona tought me another reponse for you. I believe the term was ‘Get good?’”
Joanna throws her head back and laughs. It hits a cord in Winter’s chest and rings in her ears. Winter pulls her eyes off the coat that threatens to rip apart at her muscles.
“Jeez Jo! Keep it down or you’ll bring in more Grimm!” Another women yells. The Marigold postures against the rail. Grin far to smug for a Marigold. She jumps down and Winter finders herself running because this was a Marigold an artistrocrate, a civilian.
“You could have gotten hurt!”
“Don’t worry, Winter, May Marigold is an acompished huntress!” Penny said. Winter scoffs but let Penny take the women in arms. She watches the surprised blush crawl up those ears. Two more people catch Winter’s eyes. Winter’s stuck staring. The beauty marks on Hill’s face didn’t show up that well in the photos. A crim really-
“Where was that attitutde when we were kids?” May mumbles, following her gaze. Then a grin splits across her face. “Oh. Oooh!” She stands next to Joanna who’s grin is almost just as smug. "Am I your type now?"
Winter nearly chokes, cheeks flushing hot. Ears burning in an unfamiliar way. “You’re…” The name dies on her lips but that grin was far too smug. “You’re Henry’s cousin! That Marigold!”
“Hey asshole! She’s more than a name!” The cute Faunus yells. She rushes over, linking her arms with May and glaring lightly at Winter. "Ugh. A Specialist."
Winter blinks. Unfamiliar with how she should be processing. Training sessionis emphasis that Specialist should disengage from hostile civilians. But the Faunus was another Atlas graduate.
“Play nice, lambchop,” Hill says. Winter’s feels the flush crawl further. Deeper into her cheeks. Her voice match those beutiful photos which should have been near impossible. Hill catches the stare. It’s a little thin. Dipolomatic and testing, “Nice to see the military finally doing their job.”
“Actually, it’s Winter’s break,” Penny interrupted. She tilted her head curiously at her. “Assigned break. Due to her habit of overworking herself. You’re temprature is quiet high, Winter.” The four women grinned. Fiona’s was particulously vicious for being so small and cute. “Are you alright? Did you finally get sick?”
“I- I’m fine.” Winter stuttered. May’s shit eating grin she had when they were children grew. Winter took a deep breath. “I came to ask Hill about non-military matters.”
“If it’s a date, that’s a No.” Fiona says arm possessively linked with Robyn’s-
“It’s not date!”

RWBY Musings #81: The Queen of Thieves. What if…Weiss Schnee will have to defend her family against Robyn Hill in the next episode?
Tumblr media
Anon-ninja asked “Do you think Oscar might train with ironwood in the next episode? Maybe ironwood will eventually question him in private? That could be used ass a way to get this boy back into the story”
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Squiggles Answers:
No; not this family, sadly to say…
Tumblr media
I mean the other one we don’t like to talk about.
Tumblr media
This was originally just going to be just an answer post regarding my favourite best boy: Oscar Pine, however along the way it turned into a short musing post sharing this squiggle meister’s thoughts and theories for next episode, especially where Weiss is concerned. I don’t usually muse about the Weiss-cream but it’s actually an interesting small headcanon.
Missing Little Prince
But before I get to talking about Weiss. Let’s talk about my boy again, just to answer the anon-ninja who asked me this question. If I can be honest with you anon-chan, I actually hope that's not the case.
While I'm eager for Oscar to at least appear once next episode (like possibly in another memory flashback courtesy of Ruby to highlight the conclusion to her brief talk with Oscar from V7CH3), I honestly would better prefer for Oscar's training with Ironwood to be its own episode since Oscar could honestly use his own focus episode at this point.  Following his treatment during V6 and his treatment in the recent episode of V7, I am seriously very tired of the Writers overlooking him. Not saying that to sound disrespectful in any kind of way or to rag on the Writers but… I really need to ask---is Oscar a character or not? More than that; is he REALLY a part of the main cast and hero team or not?
Tumblr media
I’d like to think of Oscar as being in the same class as JNR. He’s part of the deuteroganist group whose story and development is just as important as our protagonist team. Or at least, it’s supposed to be?
But I’m not sure anymore. I understand that good, exciting things were promised for the precious freckled farm boy turned little prince for this volume and while I’m trying my goshdarndiggity hardest to be as patient as I can be in anticipating that, apologies but my patience was surely tested last episode and it made me think back to V6 where I had a similar experience with Oscar’s story---anticipating him having a great season only for it to fall flat in the end with his overall treatment somehow being worse than V5. At least that’s how it was for me. Not speaking for all Pineheads here. This is only my opinion.
That being said, giving how the story went down last episode and given that CH5 was written by the same CRWBY Writer---Eddy Rivas---who mentioned that CH4 was his ‘baby’ chapter too, I have a feeling that we’re more likely to have a direct continuation to plot points established in that episode.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Men On Mission
Now that our heroes have been rewarded their huntsmen licenses and were shown viewing the mission board at the end of the last episode, I feel like the next few episodes---CH5 to CH7 or just CH5 and 6---will be its own little mini-arc; just like how Brunswick Farms was its own little mini-arc back in V6.
I’m curious if the next few episodes might showcase our heroes going on missions around Solitas according to the mission board highlighted in CH4. I want to pay especial attention to the Solitas Mission board since it might provide a clue as to where JNR_RWBY might be next episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so according to the Mission board: there are two escort missions and two perimeter defence missions that are open. The remaining two missions: Search and Rescue and Bounty are stated as “In Progress” so I’m assuming that those two missions already have huntsmen assigned to them.
I’m curious to know if that’s the mission that General Ironwood discussed with Clover beforehand.
Before Ironwood met with JNR_RWBY, he was last seen discussing something with Clover where he mentioned that he needed him on the ground while warning him to be subtle since if the people saw too many huntsmen around, it might attract trouble with the Grimm.
Speaking of, can I just take this moment to address how much Ironwood has grown here? I found it really ironic hearing Ironwood discussing subtly and the attraction of the Grimm with Clover since I still remember that this was the same man who wanted to bring the full force of the Atlesian Army to Vale and went behind his own colleague and fellow headmaster of many years to do so. You know what that’s called? Growth. It’s just a nice little parallel and call back to V2 that I appreciate.
So yeah, I’m assuming that Ironwood must’ve deployed Clover down in Mantle specifically to investigate what happened to Forest.
Tumblr media
Ironwood told Clover not to take Marrow since he’s probably not the most subtle or discreet of the team. Poor good boy. So I’m guessing that Clover must’ve taken Harriet instead since she was absent along with him in the end.
Pfft…I almost want to make a wise crack about Clover taking Harriet as his mission partner for good luck since…y’know…she’s based off the Hare from the Tortoise and the Hare fable and y’know…rabbits represent good luck and all that jazz.
Anyways I’m going to assume that Clover and Harriet were deployed to one of the missions on the Board. Probably the Search and Rescue one since it’s slated as in progress. Since Tyrian has been confirmed to be targeting public leaders who speak out against Atlas, I’m curious if another public leader was reported missing in Mantle and Clover and Harriet were tasked in finding them and rescuing them if necessary. That’s pretty my hunch in regards to that.
Resuming talk about CH5, since the thumbnail for CH5 highlighted Robyn Hill making her debut next episode, I'm assuming that it'll continue from where CH4 left off. As I said, CH4 ended with the heroes taking up missions in Solitas.
We know that Jaune already accepted one of the Escort Mission with the pre-schoolers. That leaves the remaining three open missions on the board to be divided between Ren, Nora, Blake, Yang, Weiss and Ruby.
Elm also hinted that one of the Perimeter Defence missions involving a lose Sayber needing two huntsmen for the job.
So that leaves me to believe that the second Escort and the second Perimeter Defence mission on the board will probably require 2 huntsmen each depending on their difficulty level.
Tumblr media
That being said, here’s my squiggly theory for the next two episode mini-arc:
CH5 will be another mission-focused episode with JNR_RWBY each deployed on separate missions across Solitas. Since Jaune will be down in Mantle with his respective escort mission, my hunch is that Ren and Nora (Flower Power) will be joining him down in Mantle since they are the two who will be designated to tackle the Perimeter Defence Mission involving the lose Sayber down in the sewers.
This leaves Team RWBY. Since the season has been going really hard with them since episode 1, I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Yang and Blake (Bumblebee) are going to tag team for the second Perimeter Defence mission. This leaves Ruby and Weiss (Ice flower) with the second Escort mission which I’m going to assume is up in Atlas.
That’s my best guess.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Queen Protects King?
Okay, now this is where things are really going to get headcanon-y. It’s also the part involving Weiss.
What if …for V7CH5, Ruby and Weiss take the Escort Mission and the person who they find out they’ll have to begrudgingly escort to wherever in Solitas is none other than Jacques Schnee and possibly Whitley too
Tumblr media
Imagine…the look on Weiss’ face if she were to discover that her very first official mission after becoming an officially licensed huntress basically involves her working for her father and little brother---to be at their beck and call as she and Ruby play huntsmen body guards to protect them and escort them wherever in Solitas?
I think an episode like this would actually be pretty damn fascinating to watch play out, don’t you think? I think it would be great to see how Weiss would react to doing something like this especially after the awesometacular way she told off Jacques last episode. Not to mention that this could potentially be Weiss’ first time seeing Whitley again…now as an official huntress ESPECIALLY since the last time the two spoke, he basically told her that her becoming a huntress was a useless career path.
How did the young Schnee boy describe it? Barbaric? Beneath people like him and his father. I wonder just how barbaric and beneath Whitley it will be as he watches his sister use her abilities to protect his life before his very eyes? He might learn a thing or two.
Besides I’m also curious to see how Whitley would react to seeing Weiss in action as a trained huntress; honed in her skills especially when she summons her knight. I wonder how Weiss would react having to protect her father and brother as part of her job. Seriously, I really would love for an episode like this.
And y’know what? I think it could potentially even be in the cards. My rationale for thinking an episode like this could potentially be canon is because, CH5 showed Robyn Hill in the thumbnail.
Tumblr media
Robyn Hill is supposedly RWBY’s version of Robin Hood, right? Her and her Happy Huntresses are the RWBY-verse’s rendition of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, right?
That being said; wasn’t Robin Hood’s theme that he stole from the rich to give to the poor? Wasn’t there not a scene in the Robin Hood animated film by Disney where Robin and his Merry Men worked together to rob the greedy Prince John of his richies while he was on an excursion out of his kingdom carrying a chest of gold?
Robyn Hill will appear next episode. One of the missions in Solitas is an escort mission.
What if…and this is a big if…CH5 will involve Ruby and Weiss tag-teaming for a mission to escort Jacques (and maybe Whitley) on some kind of business mission where they’re supposed to make a deal and collect money or something and during the mission, the group are not only ambushed by the Grimm but also Robyn Hill and her Happy Huntresses who arrived to pilfer from Jacques and take back what he’s exploited from the people of Mantle?
I know this sounds like farfetched idea but maybe I could be onto something. I’d like to think of Jacques as RWBY’s version of the Prince John apart from his double role as the Wicked Queen in Weiss’ Snow White story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also think it could be pretty cool.
Watching Weiss be a huntress and protect her family.  I know Weiss doesn’t necessarily need to prove anything to Jacques or even Whitley. However, I still think it’d be pretty awesome to see her in action and have Jacques be there to watch his cage bird soar high and kick ass to protect his sorry ass.
I more like this idea as being a nice little segway into developing Weiss’ side of things. I’d especially love an episode like this so that we can have like a follow-up on what Jacques told Weiss about her dear mother.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weeping Willow
First of all, I know Jacques has already been depicted as the scum of the Earth but how much lower can this man sink if he resorts to using his own ‘wife’s’ disease (I’ll come back to that in a minute) as a means of guilt-tripping Weiss into coming home or worse, make her feel bad for rightfully leaving home after how he treated her last time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What’s noteworthy about that was Weiss’ reaction to learning about how her mother might have felt upon her departure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is intriguing to me since…not to make it sound bad in any kind of way but, it gave the impression that Weiss actually cares for her mother’s well-being which is…kind of new to me since the last time we saw Weiss in V4, she acted rather indifferent to her mother’s existence.
We never even saw them interact. I know she talked about her in V5, giving some more perspective on how things really were in Schnee Manor. But this is the first time I’ve seen Weiss show genuine concern for her mother and I feel like if she were to see Whitley again, she might be tempted to probe him with questions about the state of their mother.
“Y’know…your mother was devastated. Didn’t leave her room for days. Y’know how she gets when she’s upset?”
Y’know how she gets when she’s upset?
Huh. That’s an interesting thing for Jacques to imply here. I know he probably mentioned that to sort of hint at the common FNDM theory that Ms Schnee is an alcoholic, like Qrow used to be. However, I feel like there is more to it than that.
The first time we heard of Mama Schnee, the impression given was that she was an alcoholic who mostly spent her days drinking her sorrows away than raising her own children. Now, according to Jacques, she sounds more like an ailing mother and that there might be more to her circumstance than I initially pegged.
Due to this, I’m now inclined to ask the question or rather, make the theory:
What if… Mama Schnee suffers with chronic depression and alcohol is basically her coping mechanism to dealing with her condition as an alternative to seeking the right medical attention and help that she needs.
Perhaps this could potentially tie in further to Jacques’ abuse of his own wife. Like imagine if...Jacques knew of his wife’s condition and used it as a means of manipulating her further?
Like in the beginning when he was being all nice just to get her to marry him and do what he wants, he used to make his wife feel like she didn’t need help at all because to him she was perfect in his eyes. Until the bomb finally went off and now, Jacques uses his wife’s condition as ammo to guilt his children, among other things?
It’s only a small theory. Like I said, I don’t usually muse about Weiss. But since we will be exploring more of her character and backstory this season, it’d be interesting to what’s in store for us with her and her family when we get into their family affairs.
For now, I’ll just hoping that I’m correct about her and Ruby encountering Robyn Hill and the Happy Huntresses for the first time while defending Jacques of all people. I think that could be really cool to see. But as always, for now, it’s only a theory.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 So to conclude...
Now that I’ve mused mostly over Weiss’ side of things for CH5, as for Ruby:
...Well technically Ruby has currently become the main driver for anything to do with Oscar since the subplot involving her deceit if Ironwood is shared with Oscar.
The most I’m hoping for with CH5 as far as Oscar is concerned is that it’ll show the conclusion to his talk with Ruby from since CH3.
Tumblr media
That’s mostly what I’m hoping for since...honestly I 'm starting to think that Oscar might be absent from the next episode again. At least, I don’t think the plot will focus on him as much as JNR_RWBY unless it’s in flashback mode.
Similar to Brunswick Farm in RWBY V6, I feel like CH5 and CH6 are probably going to be a mini arc involving our heroes being huntsmen in the field which will lead into them encountering and possibly clashing with the likes of Robyn Hill and her Happy Huntresses.
I genuinely feel like we might not see Oscar training with Ironwood til CH7---the midseason episode. Heck I feel like we might not even see Oscar again at all in the plot until CH7.
Then again, as I said, this is only my best assumption here and who’s to say I’ll be correct?  I’m just a humble squiggle meister sharing her thoughts and theories as per usual. Take it as you will, fam.

It was with eager anticipation that we set off on our journey to the first annual Experience Alexander Valley. We’d been invited as guests of Alexander Valley Winegrowers*, and based on all we’d heard about this new event, we knew we were in for something special. We wrote a couple of preview pieces, which if you missed them and want to catch up, you can read here, and here. But the previews don’t come close to capturing the magic and adventure that Experience Alexander Valley delivered.
* As guests, our event admission was complimentary. We received no other compensation or incentive. All descriptions, opinions, and reviews are our own.
Like many wine country events, this was a two-day adventure. Unlike many wine country events, rather than racing from winery to winery, guests got to choose two Experiences per day. Since we were invited as bloggers, to cover and promote the event, Robyn and I wanted to participate in as many Experiences as possible…to a point – we do enjoy each other’s company! So we decided “divide and conquer”, at least for a couple of Experiences. We each selected one Experience per day to fly solo, and one to attend together.
Saturday dawned clear and bright. And warm.  Weather forecasters predicted highs near 103F, and they weren’t far off. This meant that many outdoor Experiences had to be canceled or at least modified. Nevertheless, we were undaunted and headed from our hotel to Robyn’s first destination, deLorimier Winery. I’ll let Robyn tell the story of her Experience herself. Watch for her blog post in a few days.
I had a bit of a drive to get to my first Experience, at the Medlock Ames Winery. Though they have a tasting room on the valley floor, they wanted to treat guests to a Sustainable Winemaking Experience at their vineyards and production facility. The drive was beautiful, along the east side of the valley, then up Chalk Hill Road. The thing that struck me most: No Traffic! I was virtually alone on a Saturday morning in Wine Country.
Turning onto a single lane road, I started to get a little nervous that my trusty Google Maps might have failed me. It was a paved, single lane road, so that was hopeful. Alas, my trust in Google ran out two hilly ridges in. I turned around, beginning what would be a 30 minute detour that ended up taking me right back where I was. Around a curve about 100 yards beyond where I’d turned around was the entrance to Medlock Ames. Sigh. I’d done it to myself, and was almost 45 minutes late!
Fortunately, friendly Isabella saw my plight and left her post in the tasting room to rescue me. She came out into the already 90+ degree day, and caught me up with the small group on the outdoor tour. Isabella handed me off to Chelsea, who was leading the two other guests, Jimmy and Maryanne, on a tour of the grounds.
Medlock Ames is a sustainable, organic winery, and includes a one-acre vegetable garden, and a one-acre fruit garden. Due to the heat, we were not able to walk to those gardens, but still got a brief overview of the property and history. Chelsea led us to the shade of a large tree at the edge of a vineyard. There she told us that the two acres of vines were looking at were nearly ripped out when owners Chris Medlock James and Ames Morison purchased the property in 1998. The vineyard had been planted by the previous owner, a sheep rancher, and nobody knew what variety they were. Ames, the head winemaker, was hesitant, however, and decided to walk the vines before excavation. He found a tag on a vine, from a nursery in New York. After a call to the nursery and some research, and they found the answer: Merlot. But not just any Merlot. These vines are Jefferson clones; descendants of vines that Founding Father Thomas Jefferson brought from France to his Virginia estate! With that kind of pedigree, the former Tulane University roommates decided to leave the vines in.
Jefferson Clone Merlot
Grow, Merlot. Grow!
All Medlock Ames are made from 100% organic, estate grown fruit. The winery is fully solar powered. Of the 338 acres on the estate, only about 55 acres are farmed, leaving the rest of the land to its native flora and fauna. There are more than 800 olive trees, five retention ponds for irrigation, and at least 50 barn owl boxes on the property. To help conserve energy, the barrel room is underground, below the production facility.
Speaking of the barrel room, where better to continue the tour on such a hot day? After a brief visit among the fermentation tanks upstairs, we ventured down into the 55 degree cellar to meet Ames, and enjoy some barrel tasting.
The beauty of the Experience Alexander Valley event is that the three of us had about 30-45 minutes of interrupted time with the head winemaker. (I was enjoying myself too much to keep track of time.) We could ask whatever questions we wanted, and he took the time to answer in a way we could all understand. You don’t get that on a party bus tour!
Ames is clearly passionate about what he does, and is very knowledgeable. He thieved us samples of their 2017 Lower Slope Chardonnay, the 2017 50 Tons Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Kate’s & B’s Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2017 Secret Ingredient Malbec. Each of the wines has a nick-name, and a story. The Kate’s and B’s is named after Chris and Ames’ wives; Kate is Ames’ wife, and B (stands for Bradley) is Chris’ wife. They chose the very best grapes from the very best vineyards to make the wine with their wives’ names on it. Smart men!
From the cellar, we walked back up to the tasting room where Chelsea hosted us in a wine and cheese pairing. The cheeses are all local, Sonoma County artisan cheeses, and paired each of the wine amazingly! I’ll let the pictures tell the story here.
As we were finishing up, I got Robyn’s text letting me know her Experience was over, and she was ready for me to come get her. So I didn’t have time to explore the preserves, marmalades, and olive oils they make with estate fruit. No worries though; that gives me something to look forward to when I bring Robyn on our next visit!
After a quick lunch break, we headed to our next Experience, this time together. Turning up the tree-lined drive to Stonestreet Estate Vineyards, we were taken with the beauty of the property. Here, we were to enjoy a chocolate and Cabernet Sauvignon tasting. Originally scheduled outdoors on their beautiful patio overlooking the valley and nearby Mayacamas Mountain range, they thankfully relocated the tasting indoors, in their air conditioned tasting room.
We were greeted by DTC (Direct to Consumer) Manager, Michelle, and our host and guide for the day, Tasting Room Manager, Samantha. Having never heard of Stonestreet before, we were in for a bit of a surprise.

Stonestreet Estate Vineyards owns a large chunk of the Mayacamas Mountains we had admired as we entered the property. 5500 acres, to be more specific. Yet of those 5500 acres, only 800 acres are planted to vines. Committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly winemaking, when the owners purchased the land in 1995, they conducted wildlife studies; migration patterns, breeding grounds, etc. and planted around those areas so as to not disturb the native wildlife. This also helps to keep the critters out of the vineyards. But that wasn’t the biggest surprise. Stonestreet Estate Vineyards is part of Stonestreet Farms, located in Kentucky. Stonestreet Farms breeds thoroughbred race horses, very successfully, including such standouts as Rachel Alexandra (depicted in the beautiful statue on the grounds.) The founder of Stonestreet Farms was Jess Stonestreet Jackson. Jess Jackson. Yes, the Kendall-Jackson Jess Jackson! Surprise! Who knew?
Now on to the chocolate and Cabernet pairing. Some might think that it is difficult to pair chocolate with Cabernet Sauvignon, and it can be. The wine is often too tannic to work well with the creaminess of the chocolate. But Stonestreet sent samples of the wines for the pairing to the local pastry chef they’d commissioned for the event. She, in turn, created the chocolate confections to match each of the wines. It was exquisite! While it was hard to select a favorite, if forced, I’d say mine was third from the left, the Chocolate Budino with huckleberry compote. Robyn fell in love with the Opera Cake (second from left) made with dark chocolate genoise, espresso cream, and topped with a sprig of lemon thyme. Each of the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons paired perfectly with the chocolates.
Running a little ahead of schedule allowed Samantha to give us a brief tour of the barrel room, and some photo ops. We also had a chance to sample their Meritage, Bordeaux-style red blend. Made from all five of the noble grapes, it was amazing!
And that’s it. Just two Experiences per day. I’ve prattled on long enough for now, and we’ll cover Sunday later. Robyn will write about her solo Experiences in separate post, too. Oh sure, there was the fantastic blues concert at deLorimier Saturday evening, but Robyn will write about that in her first Experience post.
The biggest takeaways for us on Saturday were these: One, Alexander Valley is a hidden gem; a peaceful wine oasis mere minutes from the crowds and bustle of Napa. There was virtually no traffic all weekend, and no crowds, either. Sure, the heat may have kept some away, but Sunday was much cooler and yet no more crowded.
The other takeaway was this: though the lack of crowds was nice, Experience Alexander Valley was noticeably under-attended. Experiences had capacity for up to 24 guests. Of the four I attended, two had only three guests, one had four, and one had seven. Intimate to be sure, but really, folks, come out next year and let’s make this an event, an Experience, worth repeating! You’ll remember your Experiences forever.
Cheers!
