Even if it is Kassandra's hair, I don't see why so many people made such a big deal out of it. Its a freaking side braid. Something many women wear every day. If Kassandra's hairstyle was a completely unique style, then fine but it wasn't. Also I don't understand the complaints about reusing a few minor assets like hair. Its not that big of a deal.

Tbh idc about assets being reused, with the scale Ubisoft wants in an open-world RPG game and only gives the devs 3 yrs, especially for a cross-gen title, reusing assets is the only way to ship the game on time. Ubi has a lot of talented devs, but Ubi doesn't give them the time, the tools, and the creative freedom that they need. This is why I often call Ubi stingy/greedy, rather than how most would call the devs “lazy”.

The majority of Odyssey's hair library is in Valhalla, but none of that bothers me. Compare the Roman architecture/statues in Origins and Valhalla, I actually think it's a clever the way the devs reuse the assets. I think a lot of people (myself included) have issues only w Kassandra's hair because to a lot of us, it IS her hair. To you it’s just a common hairstyles and that’s ok. The fact that a lot of people went nut thinking it might be her during the Valhalla trailer to the point the Narrative Director had to clarified it himself on Twitter shows it is not just a typical hairstyle; I also had to go and extinguish that dumpster-fire hope from a lot of people. I mean, nobody looks at Alfred and Basim and goes “OMG it it Leonidas??? That’s Leonidas’s hair!!!” So, why just Kassandra’s hair? The hairstyle itself is very common (I can do that side braid too), but in AC specifically, it IS Kassandra’s hairstyle and she is a protag who is loved by many (not sure about older games but are Aveline, Elise, Evie, and Aya/Amunet’ hair got reused in the same manners?). So for us to see Ubi reusing her iconic hairstyle in the AC game right after, on another female NPC who is crucial to the plot, that’s just stingy on Ubi’s end. I say stingy because Randvi already had her own character design, the sudden change in the end was prob the devs were pressed on time imo (Ubi higher-ups here thinking making AAA game is like making instant ramen). Now, I prob just overthinking this for a vg, but shouldn’t Randvi deserves her own individuality? She is an entirely different character with her own story, seeing her as being known as Kassandra’s doppelgänger is just sad tbh. At least mod the hair so it’s longer/shorter or something or reuse a different hairstyle, they don’t have to create a new one from scratch.

p/s: I do draw the line when it comes to reusing base game assets for selling mtx items in an offline, single-player game *looking at Galloglach/Hearthweru and HiddenOne/BlackRaven sets*. Free updates? By all means go ham.

All of my thoughts on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla!

Of course there are major spoilers for the game and ending. I know it’s been out for like three months now but you never know so I’m putting it all under the cut. And yes this is pretty long. A summary is at the end of the entire text.

also pls don’t send me hate like y’all did for what I said about odyssey literally these are just my opinions on the game if u dont care for them pls just skip I have a lot to say about it and there is actually quite a few things that I really enjoyed when playing the game and if u do read it pls don’t hesitate to shoot me messages and talk to me about the game bc I really enjoy the franchise and I need some more people to talk to in this fandom.

What I enjoyed about the game!!

The blending in with the monks/prayers in the streets to get pass the guards!!!!! Dude!!!!! I know it’s like a really small detail but it just made me so happy because it reminded me of when you had to do that in the first assassin’s creed game. It’s a nice touch of nostalgia and really liked it.

The “glitches” (while some were annoying) I’m super super happy that they were kind of bringing back the glyphs from assassins creed two. I loved doing them because I loved trying to get the little movie. It was really nice of them to bring that back so we can get another little movie like the one from AC2 again.

I think we can all agree: Hytham was a great character. I wish he was more involved in the story than already but that’s just me. I really liked his character so much he’s my favorite from the game.

Desmond having some Easter eggs and basically coming back into the series again was great. It was also a nice touch to see the vault from assassins creed three (the place where des dies). It really makes me miss connor and his band of assassins. I miss assassins creed three :( I want more about Connor please put out some more comics with him in it or some easter eggs please I’m begging you. Also fuck u haytham kenway I hate u.

Shaun and Rebecca being back and now it’s canon that they’re together is fucking awesome. I’m actually really happy about that and I missed them so much. I’m glad they’re in the story again. (Rebecca dude I was so worried that she died like no fucking joke I was so upset I thought syndicate really killed her off).

The game itself actually did very well keeping with the lore we were given from assassins creed origins and was actually doing pretty well trying to connect it to the first assassin game.

Speaking of lore I do think they did the best they could to expand upon the not so well liked lore from odyssey and try and fix it but also it did feel a little confusing but I guess that’s just because i didn’t finish the Asgard missions yet so who knows.

The scenery was very very beautiful and I throughly enjoyed walking around and just admiring the view no matter where I was on the map.

Reda just becoming immortal is so funny and the fact that he was just sitting there telling stories about Aya and Bayek.. please my heart. I love them so so much. The letter Bayek wrote??? Soulmates I’m telling you.

Also I did like that they fixed their plot hole for why Bayek and Aya aren’t known for anything history wise in the story (or mainly why Bayek isn’t in the assassin’s history books and Aya, as Amunet, is really the only one written down). I’m very glad that they explained it and I really think I’m just super happy that Bayek was brought back for some easter eggs within the game.

Basim is very handsome and I liked him but I don’t know how to feel about the ending with him. Yes I do love his character and it was super cool to hang around him and do a couple of missions with him but also it felt weird that now you’re technically playing as the bad guy.

Eivor was really cool to play as. I enjoyed running around as them and doing missions. I like the fact that Eivor was basically like “yo you guys [ pointing to the brotherhood ] are fucking crazy but you guys [ pointing to the templars/order of ancients ] are really fucking crazy and weird.” I really loved basically being an assassin and using the hidden blade again. (Yeah I know they technically aren’t an assassin but yknow just an honorary one).

The Canterbury Tales!! The fucking pardoner’s tale!! That was super cool to do I loved those stories and being able to do them in the game made me super happy. I know it doesn’t actually fit the timeline given it wasnt written until like centuries after the game took place but I just thought that side mission was neat!

Fulke was a very cool templar and I thought her character was really really interesting. I wish they did more with her honestly.

What I didn’t like about the game:

So! Speaking of templars! Boy oh boy I have a lot to say for that subject. So for “the order of ancients”:

— I think my biggest problem with this game (as well as odyssey) is that the templars (“OOA”) aren’t actually important to the game anymore. They’re barely in the story now like out of all 20 or so people you have to kill within their order only like 5 or 6 are actually important to the storyline and that’s my biggest problem with it, because now killing the templars is just like a “well since you’re in the area you can kill this dude” and I really hate it. I truly believe that’s why I didn’t like odyssey that much solely bc they made doing the most core part of the video game series a damn side mission and that also goes for Valhalla.

— Also so many of the templar stories, like scenes we get after you kill them, were just so bland. They don’t make them like they used to and that’s another big core part of the series lost.

— They’re straying very far from the main plot of the series and that’s why these last two games didn’t feel anything like an assassin’s creed game. (And you can’t say that “it’s just different because they’re taking place in a time way before the templars were called templars” bc assassins creed origins did very well to changing their game and how they play but also keeping the main goal from previous games: To be an assassin and kill the templars.)

— Also they need to not show us the outline of who the templars are because I could tell who “the father” was as soon as I was able to see the order tab. Please Ubisoft do better.

I know I said this before however the fucking Beowulf mission. My God Did I Hate That. I was really looking forward to the dlc and to see what they did with the story sucked. In Odyssey we got actual Greek monsters and gods and I expected to be given that in Valhalla for the norse deities. And it didn’t happen. (As of right now I can’t comment on the Asgard missions because I haven’t finished them but I’ll probably edit the post and put them in later)

As of right now with the ending and lore shit I’m really kind of indifferent with it. On one hand they are trying to fix the lore that they kind of fucked up in Odyssey by adding more things to explain it better but also that means they added on unnecessary stuff that makes no sense. On the other hand I really hate that Layla is now technically canonically dead because shes now in the grey and basim now has the one thing that would’ve kept her alive. I really wanted them to do more with her like they did with Desmond. I genuinely enjoyed her as a main protagonist and it sucks that she is now dead. Layla deserves so much better honestly!!!!

Also on des: While I don’t want to smack away a fan service gift that includes desmond; it did kind of feel weird that he’s back in the series. Honestly I don’t know how to go about this. I’m super excited that technically desmond is back in a way but on the other hand I wanted them to focus on Layla more and :( Idk man it’s complicated. They have to stop changing the story’s main protagonists Layla deserved to be in more games and hopefully she will be because her “death” felt so cheap. I also wish they explained what happened with her during the year apart from odyssey and Valhalla.

The side missions I have no problem with except for the fact that the little side mission icon just stayed in the place you first show up to to get the mission. I miss the old side mission mechanic bc this new one felt really really confusing and it made me get lost quite a few times.

This one might just be me but I guess they’re expanding more on the gods reincarnating but they’re not focusing on the sages anymore? Like when will Elijah Miles (the newest sage) be shown?? Odyssey fucked up that lore bit but now they’re not even talking about it because any isu god can reincarnate or can take ahold of anyone if they interact with a piece of eden or something. Idk this one little bit is super confusing for me right now and I don’t like that it’s confusing so I will be doing more research on the isu (again) to understand what the fuck is going on with this damn part of the lore.

I know that this is a game where you kill people but this whole game felt so gore-y that I like had to drop it for a bit. Like dude I didn’t really expect that. This one I really feel like is just me. I did not expect to like hear bones breaking when I played it.

The storyline felt kind of all over the place like yes I could understand the big part of the story but also it was all over the fucking place. I just miss the old plot I really do that had a system that was so good it caused several games to follow it’s lead. (I miss AC1 please remaster that damn game)

Also maybe it’s just me but the story felt so slow at the beginning when ur going to England. Literally I hate to say this bc I love this whole series but I was more happy about finally finishing the main storyline than I was while playing the game.

All in all: I did like the game. I did have fun even though some parts were rough. I’m super glad that they got rid/fixed the ship mechanic because I hated every fucking naval battle in assassins creed and that’s something I was worried about doing when I saw that we had longships in the story. The game was enjoyable and it had a lot of great side characters like Hytham, Gunnar, and Yanli. Basim was a treat, though I hope they explain more about him bc I’m going to be honest he’s a bit confusing with this whole loki thing. But yeah this is all I have so far on the game. I’m still bitter over Penny Dreadful’s end

I’m happy to talk about Penny Dreadful again, although I’m not exactly sure if I like the attempt of reviving the show with City of Angels.

I was talking with a friend about it and it’s infuriating to think about what could have been. A quest to Egipt, with references to Express Orient. Ethan with Lawrence of Arabia’s vibe. Victor 100% into mummification techniques. Lyle being hilarious as always while diving into Amunet and Amun-Ra legends. Malcolm Murray back being an explorer and maybe facing a lot of his demons, along with getting yet another chance at being a “good father figure” to Victor and Ethan. Ethan and Victor conflict over Brona/Lily. Dorian Gray’s outfit for Egypt making him the ultimate fashion icon. ETHANESSA!

Although I’m glad to have a new “horror” show to watch, I still feel robbed.

I didn't forget about the ask about Singh, I just wanted to check a few canon things first and I don't have much time. but I'll get to it, I promise!

I'm guessing you mean which characters would be good additions to LoT, so I'm gonna answer that.

I'd love to see Wally on Legends again. his chaotic puppy energy is definitely needed to shake things up around there now, and also I miss him.

from the regulars, probably Killer Frost. I love her idgaf energy and I think she would work well with all the characters, both as a person and as a hero.

from the guest characters or villains-of-the-week, I really liked the Weather Witch. I think she would be a good addition as she has useful powers, the potential to be a good (or at least better) person, and the necessary attitude to deal with all kinds of assholes they might come across history.

I want to see Amunet on a LoT episode. not as a big character or anything, just quietly wrecking havoc in the background and dropping an iconic line. no explanation necessary.

also CAPTAIN COLD. PLEASE. I'll do anything.

but since I know WM probably won't be back, at least give us Lisa Snart, aka Golden Glider. come on, we deserve it. give us Peyton List and the iconic gold gun.

5x01 “Nora” Review

Let me just start by saying that I really LOVE Nora! She is adorable and probably how I would react if my dad was the Flash and my mom was...Iris...lol

Speaking of Iris and Nora, like DAYUM. Nora is giving Iris a massive cold shoulder. I know that Barry wasn't around and Nora had like all the time in the world with Iris, but I don’t know. There was a fight, a disagreement, or something because Nora wouldn't be so awkward with her mom if she had a good relationship with her. I read somewhere a theory that Iris might have remarried and that ALMOST would make sense. However, Iris wrote the 25 years later article and she still goes by Iris West-Allen and I don't know if the writers would ever want to cheapen Iris and Barry’s marriage by making that a thing. I mean I wouldn't care, because I am all about a good story and if she did remarry that would be #drama. I don't know.

Anyway, can someone PLEASE explain to me how Barry and Iris grew up literally in the same house since they were like 11 (idk) and she didn't get the Back to the Future reference???? I mean Back to the Future is iconic and Barry was SURPRISED, actually surprised she didn't get the reference. THEY’RE MARRIED, THEY GREW UP IN THE SAME HOUSE AND IRIS DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHO MARTY MCFLY IS??? The timeline must be messed up or the writers are purposefully trying to harm Iris’s character. I feel like Iris has got to be more cultured than that, you know?

Cisco drunk was everything. “Don’t Drink and Vibe” lol. I just loved how he was hungover this entire episode and him being drunk was just beautiful.

Ralph and his “manyverse” discovery was pretty funny “Another earth where we’re all bad guys” *cuts to Barry’s face* and runner up “Or an earth where they never made that last Indiana Jones movie” lol good stuff. I 150% LOVED the reference to him dying in the particle accelerator explosion! If you don’t know I think in Season 1 maybe 2 but probably 1, Dr. Wells listed him as one of the people that had been killed in the explosion. It was great!

Ralph and Caitlin MAY and I mean MAY in a very non-commital way be developing a pretty cute friendship. Do I ship it? No, God no. It has been confirmed that Caitlin will not have a love interest this season and once again I am happy yet slightly disappointed by that. I am HERE for BISEXUAL Cait/KF and I would love it if the Flash went there, but I guess probably not. I just kinda hope Amunet comes back, because I really really loved the subtle hints that were happening.

DUDES, I am psyched about Caitlin storyline! I just honestly am ready to hear about her parents. I don't know if anyone remembers, but in Season 1 before the timeline was changed Caitlin made a joke about having to tell her “parents” that Ronnie was back from the dead or something along those lines, but she said “parents” as in both of them. Then come season 3 and her Mom is alive and her dad is dead. I think it was confirmed somewhere that the actress who played Caitlin’s mom in Season 3 will be reprising her role this season. I am super happy about that and honestly, I know some people (AKA: me) are wondering about “Charlie” and that was Earth-2 Killer Frost’s brother that died and if that character might come into play. I doubt it, but it would be an interesting call back.

I JUST WANT ANSWERS. My bb KF is a hot mess of plot holes and it may have to do with the ever constantly changing timeline, but that is just so lazy to me!

Imma miss Wally, but hopefully he comes back every once in a while. Cecile reading the baby's mind was great and Joe’s reaction to it was even greater!

Okay, I don't mean to rag on Iris, but Barry and Nora literally left her in the dust. BARRY COULD HAVE TAKEN HER WITH THEM. IT WAS SO SAVAGE. Would it be bad if I said I thought that was slightly funny? Only cause Barry could easily have picked her up and taken her with them but I guess Barry and Nora now have this secret that I just don’t think will go over well with Iris. Honestly, I actually mostly felt bad for her. At the same time every girl deserves some quality father/daughter bonding time (I am so sorry to any of my followers who may not have had both parents growing up, I don’t mean any disrespect when I say that). This is Nora’s chance to be with her dad, but I do feel bad it makes Iris feel so insecure and left out. Like I genuinely do feel bad for her because I would be pretty hurt but mostly confused if I was her.

Anywho, I thought overall it was a pretty decent episode. I wonder if they are gonna go back to Season 4′s therapist? lol please I hope not. I mean there were some comedic moments there, but Season 4 overall was a pretty big disappointment to me. In my opinion. This season is actually, genuinely looking good. I truly do like Nora (and not because she is icing Iris out, but that is interesting thing to watch), but because she is interesting and she knows things we don’t and I wanna see what her relationship is with everyone. We haven't really seen her interact with anyone but Barry and Iris and then a little with Joe and Wally who are her family. However, how well does she know Cisco, Caitlin, and Ralph? What are their futures like? Like I said in my last post, I feel like Nora was giving Caitlin the stink eye and I don’t know why! I wanna know why! Does she turn evil in the future? I don't know. I am not gonna lie to you guys. I sometimes prefer villain Killer Frost. She’s fun. Sassy Frost is fun too. I never want Killer Frost to go full softy, because that is Caitlin and I just love the dynamic of both characters/sides.

I am excited for this season!

10 Great Opportunities the Showrunners of the Flash will Keep Missing Until Snowbarry Happens

There are many opportunities the writers of the Flash are missing by ignoring Snowbarry. These are 10 of them:

1. A Chance to be More Unique:

The biggest argument for the existence of WestAllen in the Flash TV show is that it happened in the comics. The writers of the Flash tv show have ignored the Comics from time to time so that they can provide a unique take on the tale of the scarlet speedster. This means the writers are not bound by what happens in the comics and can break away from following any plot line originally derived from there whenever they feel like doing so. Moreover, the sucess of Olicity shows that a non-canon pairing can be just as sucessful a canonical one especially when you have two actors that can provide the chemistry required to make a love story believable.

2. A Chance to Delve into Symbolism

Whenever Snowbarry becomes Flash and Frost, they can be represented by the symbols of the main manifestation of their powers.

In s01 we got this line:

It's time for the show to go back to using symbolism to express deeper meaning. WestAllen cannot be symbolised but Snowbarry/Flashfrost can and this will make watching the Flash more fun when Snowbarry's symbols keep popping up in different places.

The showrunners need to remember that Snowbarry's symbols can even be commercialised.

3. Merchandising

Flash and Frost have their own coffee but when Snowbarry happens they can have a combined coffee for the both of them and that would be so cool.

Flashfrost symbols can be used to decorate necklaces and rings.

They could even make T-Shirts and many other things that can be sold. All it takes is for WestAllen to be set aside and Snowbarry should have all the focus it deserves and it can even help with the ratings.

4. A Chance to Boost Ratings

Making Snowbarry the main couple will be a welcome change bc a lot of Flash fans hate Iris and are sick of all the drama she brings since it's clear that she has nothing more to offer the show other than crappy drama that most people skip bc its annoying. This season, the writers have been trying to make some changes to the tone of the show in order to attract more viewers but since they also decided to double down on WA, their plan is not as successful as they expected it to be. Very soon, the writers will stop listening to the small group of WA fans and start listening to the rest of the fandom and this will eventually lead to more Snowbarry scenes and we can finally get some answers as to why KF was so loyal to Savitar.

5. A Chance to Tie Up Loose Ends

When it comes to Snowbarry, a lot of things are unclear bc we got a lot of hints that they liked each other in s01 but the writers didnt want to go into any of that bc they suddenly felt it was time for us to get IncestAllen. Then s03 came along and we got 03×07 which had the most iconic Snowbarry scene which left us wandering whether Caitin wasn't over Barry and if it was possible that Barry was even aware of how deeply Caitlin cares about him. The issue of Caitlin kissing Everyman when she thought he was Barry has also been left unresolved. Barry and Caitlin have never even talked about it. There's also the fact that Barry calls Caitlin "Cait" and has been compared to Ronnie many times. All of these questions can be the addressed once the writers stop forcing WorstAllen down our throats and start focusing on the special bond that exists between Caitlin and Barry.

6. Expanding Snowbarry's Special Bond

Snowbarry has always had a special bond and it stems from how similar their lives are. Even in s04, their similarity is basically the main focus as we keep watching them trying to defeat their main villains. The special bond they have is very strong and it reflects in their ability to talk in sync, finish each others sentences and even move at the same time. It is quite impressive and so deep bc they can basically read each other's mind since they know each other so well. Its hard to believe they just met in the first season of the Flash. Their bond is beautiful and should be showcased for the world to see bc nothing about it is forced, it just comes naturally.

7. Flashfrost Improving Each Other's Powers

Flash and Frost should be fighting crime side by side as Flashfrost. Tbh, Barry should have been the one to train Caitlin on how to use her powers after 04×05, instead he spent all his time training Ralph Dibny. The sad thing is KF can help Barry use his powers in a new way and we won't get to see that until Snowbarry or Flashfrost happens.

Frost helping Flash is so remarkable bc it shows she can really help him with crime fighting instead of merely being his love interest.

8. A Chance For Barry to Get a Love Interest that isn't Just a Love Interest

Many people keep saying they liked Iris in s01 but I only liked Iris in s02 bc in that season, we got to see her at her job more often, she had a friend outside STAR Labs and most importantly, she wasn't a love interest for almost the whole season. Unfortunately, once she started dating Barry, she turned into the thing he had to save and she got so used to it that she even asked the villain to take her in 04×01. Even with all the pathetic attempts to make Iris seem like the leader of Team Flash, she's still nothing more than a useless love interest bc she can't do anything herself, she just gives orders and seats down. With or without her powers, Caitlin's presence is vital to Team Flash and 03×21 showed they wiĺl always need her. Once the writers are tired of forcing Iris' annoying storyline, they can bring Caitlin to the forefront and Snowbarry can outshine WestAllen without even trying bc they work well together and individually, the fate of the show rests in their hands.

9. Making the MVPs of the Show the Main Couple

Since s03, Barry and Caitlin's storylines have been the entertaining part of the Flash for many viewers. Even in s04, Barry and Caitlin still have the best storylines as Barry is now tasked with defeating the Thinker while Caitlin has to find a way to defeat Amunet. This is even the main focus of 04×09 and it just shows how much more interesting it will be if Caitlin and Barry had to face all of this as a couple. They're basically going through the same journey and so far, its been a bumpy ride that is always more interesting to watch than WA's therapy or wedding or whatever. Snowbarry always shines no matter how hard the writers try to repress it bc they are the true MVPs in the Flash and this is all thanks to Granielle.

10. Showing Granielle's Chemistry

Grant Gustin and Danielle Panabaker are real life besties. They provide the amazing chemistry that Snowbarry is well known for. Even some WA stans have admitted they like Barry and Caitlin's friendship and that's bc Granielle interacts well and it shows whenever Snowbarry interacts. I just don't know why anyone would want to ignore such chemistry.
