#there's something really beautiful about experiencing the weather patterns of a new place #where i live now. its not like where i grew up. not like the foothills of Appalachia but its more familiar than the Chihuahuan desert was #when i go home to ohio everythings so green. so green. unimaginably green and the towns are in the woods. the hills roll #and trees billow deciduous and packed so tightly the treeline is like a wall of plant matter. here there are trees but they are tall and #evergreen. patchy in places like shrubs in the desert. the grass grows green but also pale tan and dead. houses are routed in valleys #between mountains. they're made of wood and not stucco but they still look strange and the landscape is crumpled together tall. and there's #water. it rains. days can be dreary and gray with drizzle. i forgot what thats like. when a single low stratus cloud blocks out thewhole sk #and fog clings to the trees. my school bus used to drive by a lake where thr fog was so thick i didnt kno how the driver could see the road #but somehow i forgot how much joy suspended water vapor gives me living in a place where when it rains it pours so hard the streets flood #and the greedy ground drinks the landscape dry. but there are new things as well. here smoke rolls up over thr mountains and gets stuck in #the valleys so that the weather forcast reads: Smoke for days on end. im used to tornado warnings and heat warnings and dust storm warnings #but ive never expected Smoke as a type of weather. and im sure there's more to experience. ive only been here like 3 weeks. its not as gree #as home. the storms dont seem to get quite so violent. the woods are so full of bears that its an active threat. but its not the desert #and while ill miss the shapes of desert plants and little lizards. when i look up at the pine and spruce trees i feel like i can breathe a #little easier. well see how i feel once the long cold winter sets in haha #but i dunno. part of me still longs for a violent thunderstorm. one where u can feel the temperature drop and u csn feel it building all da #one that bends the trees and smells like ozone. it was never like that in thr southwest and im not sure that happens here #but maybe thats just a desire for chaos and violence as a product of my pathological internal control. i cant be spontaneous so let nature #bring the fear to me. some of my favorite memories are watching lightning strikes #so it goes i suppose #unrelated #listen. is it fucked up to have ohio nostalgia? maybe so. but in my defense i grew up in the pretty part of ohio lol

#image commentary in tags once again since they don't allow captions anymore and I feel weird using the alt text for that -- #1. COLUMBINEEEE... (I think..???) one of my favorite flowers... I managed to grow a small one in a pot last year. huzzah #2. spicy soup for lunch (another very rare lunch since I usually eat literally the same exact thing every day for my stomach #issues and stuff lol).. also made a fruit smoothie but put tapioca boba in it out of curiosity.. which was weird #3. woven cucumber shavings.. one of the many little meticulous tasks that I find oddly fun and could probably do for hours #4. A RED FOUR LEAF CLOVER!!!! There are some patches of clover in the yard that have weird red coloring and red spots on them #almost like it's some sort of damage or something but it seems natural (and I wonder if it has to do with plants that grow around them at #all since these 'green clovers but where some of them are variously spotted in red' patches happen to be next to patches of weeds/ #grouncover that also have red stems and stuff.) but so in the yard it is rare to find a red clover #and also rare to find a four leaf clover. so a RED four leaf clover is the most rare... special child.. #5. bapy son on the heating pad (featuring my stinky little toast shaped 2ds lol... i wonder if theyve been obsolete so long that maybe #3ds are actually affordable now (under $100).. hrmm...) #6. Another wii fit mingame score. I'm not sure if this is even lower than the other ones or anything. I never go back to compare them lol #if a score seems good enough to possibly be my best I just take apicture of it anyway. I should probably at some point check what #the 'best' even actually is. I wish the wii always told you ur Best score instead of just your Last score on those games. i must confess that fall is the worst season in my opinion and i don't know why people like it. everything bad about the world is represented in october - november

#seth.txt #1. the colors are dingy most of the month and aren't that great. worst shade of orange #2. sickness is increased as it is cold and flu season. when i get sick it's always fall or winter #3. seasonal depression increases as the days get shorter and shorter. why do you people like when it's dark at 5pm #4. the food is lame. people who love fall usually love the food or thanksgiving which is just mash potatoes and pumpkin which both suck ass #5. the holidays in winter at least make it worthwhile because christmas and new years are both objectively better aesthetically #6. halloween feels really superficial like no one truly celebrates it anymore on a widespread level. should be hyped up like christmas #7. idc what people say dealing with cold is way worse than dealing with heat if you have ac. i am always cold so colder = always bad #8. all plants dying is so ugly to look at and there are no little birds and animals around during the fall which makes the depression worse #i could think of reasons for hours i think i have explained my manifesto well enough for now #actually hold on adding another amendment. #9. having to wear long sleeves pants and socks indoors is torturous and disgusting to where battling the coldness is the lesser evil #10. the sky is always fucking grey for some reason fucker that isn't beautiful esp when it's not even raining #11. you can't go swimming or eat ice cream as easily. name any fall activity that remotely compares to swimming in the summer you're wrong

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my final cat, my best friend, was put to sleep late last week. I thought I’d have her for another 4-6 months given what her vets said, but her kidneys deteriorated faster than expected and man, I’m crushed. Quite honestly, I don’t know what to do with myself. I plant things when I’m upset but I don’t have room in my inside gardens right now. I think I want to plant bulbs for her but the internet has been unhelpful in determining what to plant. Do any of you lovely people know what bulbs would do well in zones 5-7 and can be planted in the next week or two?
