sorry to barge into your inbox, but I'd love to hear your take on Ibuki's childhood!

No need to apologize! My inbox is always open, especially for those who want to talk about Best Character.

So I just reread what I wrote for my friend (shout-out to @specificyeetcapacity !) and I should clarify: what I wrote is her life story before HPA. Not strictly about her childhood, per se, but it does include it! Gonna put it all under a Read More.

Here's a vision I have of how Ibuki Mioda grew into her current self ...

She was always a free spirit as a kid. Chipper, energetic, and friendly. She was always well-liked among her classmates just for being herself. Her parents tolerated it, and they nurtured her various phases until an interest in music won out, but they believed she'd grow out of it. They were firm about it. So were her teachers, less enthused about her individuality, and so were other authority figures in her life.

And she learned. Going into whatever is the Japanese equivalent of middle school, she tamped down her impulses in front of others, fitting in like a big girl should. But there was always music, and perhaps it was that withheld desire to express herself that fueled her hours of daily practice. Then came the band: she and a few like-minded girls found each other, jammed for fun, and realized that they're actually pretty good (especially Ibuki). They got serious.

Sometimes, it takes years. Sometimes, it just takes one viral video of one performance, starring a guitarist who, though fairly composed, can't contain her near-virtuosity with her instrument nor her exuberance. (Think of that Nyango Cat drummer video.) Suddenly, record deal. Hit singles. Nationwide tour. All in quick succession. The band becomes the hottest name in light music, a rep that only gets boosted when management promotes them as being in competition with another band comprised of all boys.

But Ibuki doesn't mind that other band - she digs their music. This whole battle of the sexes thing is ... phony. But her group sees the perks and plays into it, so Ibuki must too. Can't stand out, remember? Gotta be a team player, follow the crowd, and that's how you find success. Then Ibuki’s tastes lead her away from light music and toward a heavier sound. But she can't explore it - light music is their forte, their bread and butter! Don't mess with the money, don't mess with the formula, just dial down the Ibuki a little and keep strumming your silly songs! Doesn't she care about unity?

Yes. She does. A band needs a sense of unity to achieve harmony and reach their goals, and without it, they'll spend more time squabbling instead of making music. So, at the height of their fame, she leaves the band.

It's the hardest thing she's ever done. Never mind the challenges of going solo, which have taken down many a frontperson with way more years and experience. She connected with her bandmates, her friends, more than anyone before, and she severed that very connection herself. But then, they weren't letting her be herself. Maybe they never got to know who she really is, because she had to tone it down for the sake of ... who? Not herself, now that she thinks of it. For all the fun she had, for all the success she achieved, it also brought her a lot of pain. No matter what, not everyone will like her or vibe with her. Even when she tries to be someone different.

Then she receives a priceless recognition of her talent. Hope's Peak Academy extends her an invitation to join the student body as the Ultimate ... Light Musician. Well, she won't say no to the invite. Buuut she won't keep pretending to be something she's not. They won't get the Ultimate Light Musician. They'll get Ibuki Mioda, the maniac metalhead with devil horn hair, abrasive tunes about things like teen pregnancy, and a whole lotta personality.

She's as sweet and energetic as in her kid days. Maybe more so after the way some people have treated her, giving her an even greater empathy along with some sharper powers of observation. What's changed is just changing back to being unapologetically herself ...

Even if she does get lonely sometimes.

Questions I am anticipating or have received...

Can I request a wrestler from [x] promotion? Sure, if they are human adults, and I can find some proof that they have been in the wrestling business at some point and can find a photo of them.

Can I request a tag team or a trio? Sure, even if they're related. Anyone who is not turned on by incest is encouraged to vote "pass" for such teams.

Can I request a specific era for a wrestler? e.g. D-Generation X Billy Gunn instead of current Billy Gunn Sure. I am a relatively new wrestling fan, though, so it helps me enormously if you send in a photo to go along with this kind of request. I know Tumblr doesn't let you send photos with anonymous asks, so if you don't want your name associated with poll, just mention that when you send in the photo, and I'll copy it into a fresh post to keep your identity private.

Can I submit someone public-facing in a wrestling company who is not a wrestler? e.g. referees, announcers, etc. Sure!

You had a poll on a wrestler who did something problematic. Vote "pass" and move on...unless you want to smash despite their heinous deeds. My job here is to find out who's smashable, and frankly there are people in this world who think Ted Bundy is the epitome of smashability. Let people want who they want. It's all fantasy anyway, much like pro wrestling itself.

i’ve been following you for a couple weeks now and i just wanted to say THANK YOU for actually providing a nuanced discussion about leon as a character!! i’m relatively new to the resident evil fandom so i’ve unfortunately fallen victim to the mass misinformation being spread, you’ve thankfully guided me in the right direction though!

i especially appreciate your take on ashley on leon because the things people have been saying about them on tiktok is… questionable to say the least. the babying of leon and the infantilisation of ashley is incredibly irritating, i was shocked when i saw someone say he would never date someone in their early 20s due to “the young age reminding him of sherry and therefore making him uncomfortable” 🙄 acting as if leon is a fossilised dinosaur in comparison to ashley lol

I said this to @ivyial last night that I find it very interesting that the self-appointed Authority in fandom very, very often has people coming into his inbox and referencing me in a "...Do you think maybe she might have a point, though?" way, and I have NEVER gotten the same about him. The most I've gotten is "I saw this and it sounds like bullshit. Is it bullshit or is the canon really that stupid?"

I think there are a lot of people in this fandom who know intellectually that the narrative being pushed about Leon makes absolutely no sense, but they don't want to rock the boat or make waves against the current of common beliefs held around the fandom -- because they're also still new, so they don't feel like they're in a position to say they know better, so it is what it is.

And then they go and ask him for clarification, and his answer legit deadass is "yeah some things in RE just don't make sense and we have to accept that"

And my ass is over here screaming "THEY ONLY DON'T MAKE SENSE BECAUSE YOU KEEP ADDING IN SUPPLEMENTARY BULLSHIT THAT MAKES THEM NOT MAKE SENSE."

But I don't have the reach or the platform he does, so new fans are stuck with their uncomfortable cognitive dissonance of "I know this doesn't make sense or feel right, but authority says it is, so..."

And that sucks.

The line last night was people don't know how RE canon works. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one who does.

To take every piece of supplementary information and announce it as being canon is so far removed from the reality of how game development in general works. There's no loremaster on dev teams. Things in game stories have to change or get cut all the time because of gameplay contrivances/limitations. Game developers do their best to keep the story and characters in line with the releases that came before the title they're working on now, and that's it.

The sole exception to this is certain Final Fantasy teams, because they release a master lorebook called an Ultimania alongside every release. Square Enix devs refer to the Ultimanias if they continue a storyline into a new game.

Resident Evil doesn't have that, and I would bet every cent I had that there is not a single person currently working in Division 1 that has ever heard of Leon having a backstory involving organized crime or his parents getting murdered. Because it's not in the games, and it's never referenced anywhere outside of a promotional interview released before RE2's release and likely before RE2's story was even finalized.

Dev teams change all the time. People come and go in the industry. This is especially true for somewhere like Capcom. When they sit down to make a new title in a series, all they have to go off of is the game releases that came before. No one is keeping this supplementary shit straight outside of basement-dwelling nerds who think that knowing every little thing a developer or PR agent has ever said is an adequate replacement for having a personality.

Games are also influenced by how well previous titles did in the marketplace and public opinion. Look at what's happening with Aeon. IT IS LITERALLY GETTING WRITTEN OUT OF THE STORY because it pissed so many people off in RE6, so who the fuck cares what Developer #8332 said about the ship back in 1999? It doesn't matter.

Resident Evil is a product to be bought, sold, and consumed. Things change during development. To take every little remark and interview and third party ad for an airsoft gun (I'm still not over how stupid that was) as canon is asinine and is completely incongruent with the actual fuck real reality of the product itself.

I'm reminded of the very famous Shinji Mikami quote about how, if Resident Evil 4 ever ends up on the PS2, he'd cut his own head off with a chainsaw.

And what ultimately happened?

Words are meaningless. The only thing that happens is what's in the actual product itself. Again: Resident Evil does not have an Ultimania. The story only exists within the games and the CGI movies.

It also makes the entire story make less sense and become even more incoherent than it already is. This supplementary material adds nothing to the story. It only takes things away.

Sorry, I didn't mean to go off on a huge big rant here, but. It really pisses me off that the new people who are coming into the fandom are smart enough to see that the narrative is bullshit but too afraid to speak up about it because of the sheer arrogance of the other voices in the room.

I'm glad you're here, anon. I'm hoping you can help spread the word. Make other newcomers feel more welcome and less crazy.

Side note because I'm not done ranting yet I guess: my favorite new thing is "Leon is blonde but people don't think so because they don't understand tech limitations in 2005" as though the GameCube couldn't render blonde hair -- or even light brown hair. And also as though RE4 was the origination of Leon's character and he didn't have brown fucking hair in every version of RE2 that's ever existed.

For the record, I was setting up and participating in LAN parties before this guy could even hold a controller in his hands, so fuck all the way off with mansplaining hardware limitations to me.

Something I don't understand about these articles that bring up Larries and their 'conspiracy theory' is that it draws more attention to it and could create new Larries. People who have never heard of Larry will read those articles and be curious and look it up and see youtube vids, blogs and etc. If they are on the fence about Harry's sexuality then they definitely will. So there is just as much chance people will read into it as them laughing it off. The fact that Vulture is paying to promote their trash article hating on Harry and using a clickbait title about his acting and then mentioning the 'conspiracy theory'. Like are they completely dumb? If they want to bury the 'conspiracy theory' then don't mention it at all? I don't get it. Why are these so called critics all going after Harry and writing hate pieces on him and barely acknowledging that there are other actors in the movie too? I'm guessing that they come from WB's side trying to ruin him after messing up DWD promo, or Sony who are terrified of him 'coming out' or even competitors. The hate campaign against him is getting weird, and now they're paying to promote it? Why is his PR team nonexistent? Shouldn't they be planting some positive stuff about him?

I’m gonna go to the second part of your ask first.

I really don’t think Warner Bros would send a PR “hit” out on Harry like that, for multiple reasons. First, studios and record labels don’t work the same way, in that Harry’s not under an exclusive contract with Warner Bros. and so they have no reason to want to keep him in line or under thumb the way Sony used to in One Direction, nor do they have the power to. He’s employed for one movie, and essentially, because it was a bad experience for Harry (and everyone), WB would have everything to gain by maintaining a cordial, professional relationship with him, if they intend to work with him again in the future. (And, considering how much they’re relying on his brand to keep this movie afloat in theaters, it’s likely that, however they feel about his acting chops, they recognize that the smarter business move is to have someone like Harry (and his fan base) as an open option for the future.)

Second, he didn’t actually do anything he wasn’t supposed to. “Screwing up DWD promo” is a fandom opinion, because we know what he’s like when he actually wants a project to succeed. In terms of his professional obligations though, he did everything he was hired for (and, unfortunately, more). He didn’t speak out of turn, or bad mouth the movie. In fact, he spoke about it in as effusive a manner as he could, given the quality. He played a good little stunt puppet, and even allowed them to piggyback on his music to make bank, so they literally have zero reason to “want revenge”, even in light of the contrast with My Policeman promo.

Rather, I’m pretty sure the disdain from critics boils down to nothing other than the gatekeep-y nature of the industry. Critics are never welcoming of musicians who want to work in acting - literally never - and this is something we foresaw. We always knew Harry would have to be utterly flawless in his role (impossible, three movies in) in order to receive even a modicum of critical praise because they were always going to be exceptionally hard on him, as they are on other celebrities who try and make the leap. The only reason he was spared during Dunkirk was because criticizing him (simply for being Harry Styles) would be tantamount to criticizing Christopher Nolan’s casting decision and that wasn’t a hill critics were willing to die on, especially for a minor part in an ensemble cast.

This, however - pop culture’s current obsession scoring two leading (and one queer!) roles in the same year, with two directors who are still finding their feet - this was fair game. And, it sucks because I think critics would have been so much more willing to go into My Policeman with some room to be surprised, if not for the absolutely overexposed media catastrophe that was DWD. But it’s just too tempting now, too sweet, too (seemingly) justified to be able to tear him down for just having the audacity to throw his hat in the ring, because after that circus, no one is expecting him to be any good. More importantly in entertainment, no one is expecting anyone (of note) to come to his defense. So, even if he holds his own, it’s not ever going to be enough (not now, at least).

This is not to say the criticism of Harry’s acting isn’t warranted. I’ve read some very fair critiques, especially pointing out the contrast between him, and David and Emma. But that’s the thing: rarely are these articles criticizing the actual acting. Rarely do they even seem to get the objective of the movie, if they deign to mention the movie at all. Instead, they’re focused on the Harry of it all and it’s making me laugh because they’re doing the one thing they make fun of fangirls for: they’re making it… ✨all about Harry Styles.✨

And, as for the Larry stuff…

One, their PR teams never did seem to get the memo that if you wanna prove Larry isn’t real, stop trying so hard to prove Larry isn’t real. It’s their twelve year struggle; we’re still waiting for them to catch on.

Two, I’ve said before that fan girl hysteria is an easy and juicy scapegoat. In a bid for attention (which is entertainment media’s main goal), the easiest people to pooh-pooh are young women. Nothing will get you clicks like making fun of a predominantly female fandom, because you have the patriarchy fully in your corner. So, you get the clicks and you get the bonus points of the Jack Chambers-es in every basement high-fiving you with both Cheeto-crusted wank hands.

The caveat, though, is that we silly fan girls turned out to be just a little too right about Olivia Wilde (shocker!) so its still too soon to try and sell the whole “they hate her/her movie cause they fancy her boyfriend” shtick again. So what did they do? They pivoted on the hysteria strategy, and the next best narrative to fans who would fully shank your girlfriend out of jealousy is fans who are so crazy they believe you’re gay and in a 12 year closeted relationship with your former band mate.

Just another day in the fandom. Sigh.

I've come to the decision that after my favorite team lead takes her vacation, I'm quitting my job. I like my coworkers and some managers, I like what I do some days. But it's just wearing me down. The customers are the absolute worst. It's constantly noisy. No one has enough help or time to get all the shit done. And I swear to God, Corporate and managers keep making up new stupid rules just because they're bored. I know they need me and it'll be hard to find a replacement who is as good as me and is willing to put up with all kinds of BS with no extra pay. But that's not my problem, tbh. I can't keep wasting my life and straining my mental health just because Store Manager won't hire an extra team lead. Why would they hire extra help when they can just exploit a couple cashiers who help out as "backup TL" without a pay raise?

Even if they promoted me, I don't want it. They've been saying for at least a year "You're next in line for a TL position" but that never happens. At first, I wanted it. But now? Nah. Extra responsibilities + I don't ever get a break from it + working opening shift sometimes. No I'm good. I want the extra pay and bonuses but I don't want the extra BS that comes with it.

Honestly, I almost found a new job and would've quit last month. The interview was great, I really liked the place and the job, but the pay was lower than what the posting online estimated. This Other Job said they might be able to match my current pay rate, but the drive is too far for the math to work out. The commute to This Other Job is about double what my commute to my current job is. If This Other Job's paycheck is the same or lower than my current paycheck, but I'm using twice as much gas to get there, that's just not gonna work out. The only way that could possibly work would be if This Other Job let me work longer shifts on less days and work every Saturday and Sunday for the extra $1/hour. And yeah I just don't think that was gonna happen.

So whenever I find out when Favorite Team Lead is going on vacation, I'll write up my two weeks notice and get working on finding a job similar to This Other Job, only not so far away from me. I've been considering whether I want to stay through Christmas, but I honestly don't think I've got another holiday season in me. I just want Favorite Team Leas to get her vacation done so I'm not adding extra stress for anyone.

When I realized it just wasn't going to work out with This Other Job, I cried. I cried so hard. That place was perfect. It's quiet. People are nice. They wouldn't micromanage how I do something as long as it gets done. Benefits. Nice hours. Nice location. Long drive but not a bad drive. There's a line between what I handle and what someone else does. All I need is a job just like that but closer to where I live, or paying enough so I can afford extra gas money.

I'm going to miss my current coworkers and some of the small benefits that come with it. I'm not looking forward to their faces when I turn in my notice. But I can't do this forever. I've been thinking about this for months. Even if I change locations, even if I change positions, I'm still going to have similar bullshit following me around and I don't have the authority to change it.

If I can find a job away from customers, I would love that. Number 1 reason I hate my job: The customers. They get stupider and ruder every damn day. Like, fuck.

apparently some cast member supposedly spoiled the show on twitter??? they keep saying that people interpreting the show one way when they have made it another is very hurtful to them. and that the show is sad until the end.

I don't think we can trust this person tbh. They have ndas and what not. One doesn't just spoil shows because of fan theories.

i just woke up and i see i received three asks about it, i'm sorry this happened and freaked out everyone 😭

from what i gleaned from the twitter discussion, a similar thing happened during the airing of happiness -- someone "spoiled" the ending, but it turned out to be a false rumour.

here's what i think: as you said, staff members sign ndas and work on dramas for a long time; they're used to hiding information, and it's not only bc of their contract, it's also bc this is their hard work that they put months into, so it would be disrespectful to their own labour and to their team if one of them really spoiled the ending, especially of a drama that's currently the most popular ongoing show in korea. from what i've observed, work ethic in korea is much stricter than in the west, and the only real spoiling i ever saw happen was when a european guest actor on vincenzo uploaded a bts photo of an upcoming scene that was a secret, and that person's instagram was immediately shut down and stayed down for a while after. also, korean public figures rarely use twitter -- they prefer korean social media or instagram, which is the only place i've seen drama staff members post. if a korean netizen really wants to make an impact with a statement, they would post anonymously in korean social media.

when a show reaches this level of popularity, the rumours going around get out of hand. it seems unlikely that a staff member would endanger their job and complain about fan theories, given that theories arise about dramas from the very start and are heavily encouraged by promotional material (tvn's promo once jokingly addressed the yi jin death theory). my brain right now is even going: what if tvn planted a false sad ending rumour because we noticed the "appa" background noise and are getting hopeful again? i know they lurk on social media and i won't put it above them.

i'm going to rewatch the kiss making tvn released and try to avoid fearmongering. whatever happens will happen on sunday, but until then we should have the freedom to hope.

bisexual, she/they enby. just turned 20 at debut, is about 21 going on 22 at this point in the manga.

vintage's older half sister by about a year. she got into turf first, which got him into it when he was old enough to play

on good terms with her biological father, who she goes to see sometimes (and did so as she was growing up). she sometimes feels a little disconnected from the rest of her family (mother/stepfather/vintage) because of it, but it's not a big deal

knows vintage better than he knows her (because she's MUCH quieter than him)

a lil on the chubby side, but only a little bit. like vin, she's particularly pale

her eyes are naturally light blue, she wears red contacts to match vin and the team's aesthetic. because of how my other hcs go, her natural ink colour is also light blue (unlike vin's, which is red)

his eye colour, and by extension, his natural ink colour, is a honey gold colour, complete with a natural glittery shine. he got picked on a little because of it at school, and the insecurity has kinda stuck with him. that being said, the shininess also means his eyes often catch light and kinda reflect it back towards him and block his vision with little specs of white, hence the sunglasses

skull really likes his eyes though, thinks they're pretty. avi has a soft spot for skull's goofy smile (which HE'S self conscious about)

idk how to quite describe his skin tone, lighter than rider/npacer but not by a lot, kinda mid tone. skinny, but generally a little toned (more evenly than skull is because someone is a nightmare and lives off sweets). he's also just, kinda good looking, like, objectively. has a nice face EHDKDNDK

Paring : Hyungsik X Reader

Summary : Hyungsik is running from Sasaeng and he bumps into you and asks you to help him escape. You help him, just not in the way he imagines.

Warning : There's like so much fluff and a tiny hint of violence.

Requested : Yes.

"Hyungsik!! Look over here," one of the many fan girls screamed. He looked away, not wanting to make eye contact. His body guard just put his arm out to try and make Hyungsik feel a little better. The girls kept pushing and pushing, it's like he couldn't breath.

"Try not to get lost kid," the security said. Hyungsik looked at him weirdly. 'What an odd thing to say' he thought. That's when he felt himself get pushed into the crowd. He caught the tiniest glimpse of the security looking away before smirking slightly.

"Let go of me," he tried saying, pushing past some girls to get back into his mangers field of vision. But no one listened. It was this one group. They kept pulling and dragging him away from his manager and everyone he knew, in a foreign city. Yes he was still in Korea, but he was far away from the security of his home city.

He was struggling all he could, to try and get away from the girls.

"Hyungsik come with me!"

"No with me!"

"You're all mental. He wants me!"

He couldn't take it anymore. With as much force as he could muster, he rips away from their grips, and sprints in the first direction he sees. He didn't care if he was running away from his team, he only cared about getting away from the group of sasaengs that were following him. He rushes out of the airport and looks both ways before going right. He turns the first corner of an alley and peaks around to see if the girls knew where he had gone.

He sees them exit the airport and look both ways. He could hear them, that's how close they still were.

"Which way do you think he went, Yuri?"

"I don't know, Eunji. Maybe he went across the street."

"Well we all have phones, so we'll split up. Yuri and Jisoo can go across the street. Jangmi and Yuna can go right, and Jinhee and I will go left. Call if you find anything."

All the girls nodded, and went their separate ways. Hyungsik moved as close to the wall as he could. He watched the girls walk passed and surprisingly they didn't look down the alley. He let out the breath he was holding and then he heard a scream. Both girls came racing down the street towards the alley he was in. He was quick to rush down the alley and into little pathways.

Sadly they kept guessing the correct pathway, but he knew it was probably because they knew the city better than he did. They almost cut him off a few times but he was lucky enough to escape. 'I need to loose them' he thought, 'and when did they have enough time to call their friends'. He quickly lost his train of thought as he ran into someone, that someone being you.

"Hey!" I shouted at a guy. He just ran into me full force and almost knocked me down. I grabbed onto him to try and stop from falling over completely.

"I'm... s-sorry.." he said panting. I looked him up and down. He was wearing a black turtle neck with a brown jacket. He had on jeans and boots with it. He was holding a bread case looking bag. I look down at my own outfit a little embarrassed. He looked nice and I was in pajamas.

"Why are you running?"

"I'm being chased."

"By who?"

"Sasaengs."

"Why? Are you famous? Am I supposed to know who you are?" I question him. He looks supprized that I asked him that.

"So you don't know who I am?" He asks. I shake my head at him. I hear some shouting and look behind him. These alleyways did nothing but intertwine for days.

"Crap," he whispers. I look back at him and he looks at me.

"So I know we just met but you have to help me," he says. I give him a questioning look.

"Why would I help you? I don't know you."

"Exactly! That's why you gotta help me."

I could tell those girls were getting closer, as their foot steps were getting louder.

"What's in it for me?" I question. He gives me a weird look and sighs.

"I really hope you don't hate me after this."

"After what?" This guy was acting so strange. I finish my sentence and am in shock. He pulled me into a kiss that deepened instantly. I don't know what came over me but I wrapped my arms around his neck. He tightened his grip on my waist and pushed me against the wall. The girls run by letting out fake gags and walk to the end of the alley.

"Get a room losers," one of them yells down to us.

The man starts kissing down my next and I glance over at the girls. They glare at me and start talking to each other.

"I think he went this way."

They start heading down the alley and that's when I realize what position I am in. A strange man that I don't know and have never met in my life, kissed me and is currently kissing my neck and I kissed him back. I shriek and push him away. I don't know what came over me, but I slapped him across the face and kneed him. He groaned and fell over a tiny bit.

"What in the name of, why did you knee me?" He puffs out angrily.

"I don't know you, and you just made out with me. I don't even know your name?!"

"Hyungsik. Park Hyungsik. And you kissed back so I don't want to hear it." I roll my eyes at him.

"You might as well come in Hyungsik Park Hyungsik." He rolls his eyes at my smarty remark, and follows me into the building. I take him up to my apartment and go straight into the bathroom. He looked around my apartment and came to his own conclusion that I didn't like that many colors or people. I come back with a first aide kit, and go over to him. I motion for him to sit on the couch, and he does as told.

"I'll let you use my phone after to call someone if yours isn't in tact anymore. If it is then you can use yours." He nodded his head and let me clean the scratches on his face. He hissed as some stung way more than others. He scrunched up his nose. We were so close that I could hear the tiny whines he let out.

"You're being a big baby ya know?" He glared at me, "It's just rubbing alcohol." I shrug and finish cleaning him up. If he wants to be like that, let him.

"I'm sorry I slapped you," I look into his eyes while saying that. He nodded.

"It's fine."

"So are you gonna tell me more about yourself, or are you gonna remain that one famous person that I saved, beat up and helped?" He sighed and turned to me.

"I'm an actor and singer. I was in a group called ZE:A, but now I'm self promoting." I nodded and stood up.

"Well, are you hungry mister actor? I'm about to make dinner, and I can make some for you if you want." He nodded at me and I set to work trying to throw something together. I whipped up some ramen with fried eggs and kimchi. I also grabbed a couple of homemade croissants and some milk. I set everything on the table and ushered Hyungsik over.

"Croissants?" He questioned once he saw them. I gave him a look and he laughed.

"You know, you haven't told me your name," he says in a teasing tone. I stick my tongue out and introduce myself.

"Such a beautiful name," he smiles. I roll my eyes at him.

"Eat before I beat you again."

In no time he's finished his food and called his manager. He went to the other room so I couldn't hear what they were saying. I cleaned up the kitchen and dinning room until he came back out.

"So he'll be coming by later, apparently my hotel is across the city and he can't get out right now."

He slumped down onto the couch next to me. I sighed and looked over at him. He just looked so perfect. 'His eyes look so soft and they're always shinning while looking at me''. Well of course they were, there was a light behind me. 'And his hair just looks so soft, I just want to lightly toss it'. That would be so weird. I shake my head and Hyungsik looks over at me.

"What?" I huff out. He shakes his head and I hear a small nothing.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" I ask.

"Sure. Then maybe you can see why I'm so famous," he jokes. I shake my head and laugh a little.

"I'm picking a movie that doesn't have you in it."

It was about 10:45 and his manager still hadn't come. We were on our second movie, and I could tell he wanted to say something to me. I pause the movie and look over at him.

"Common spit it out." He looks away and nodded his head. I didn't understand what that meant until he moved me around to face him.

"I have something to say, and it's gonna sound super weird. I think I've already grown feeling for you. Now I don't want to ask you out, seeing as we just met, but could I get your number. I want to continue talking to you." I nodd my head, and give him my number. We sit there staring at each other for a couple of minutes and he starts leaning in. I do to, and as we're about to kiss, the doorbell goes of. I jump away from him, a loud coming echoing around my apartment. I fix my shirt and open the door.

"Hello," a man says to me. I nodd and close the door a tiny bit.

"I'm Hyungsik's manager, and I'm here to pick him up."

"Ah okay," I say, turning to look at him.

"Why don't you come in?"

"Thank you." Hyungsik got up and hugged his manager. They did the little dude hug back pat thing. The pulled away and his manager started talking about something. I stopped paying attention and walked away to clean my living room. I just put up blankets and putting the movie back in it's case.

"So I was thinking," Hyungsik started. I look at him from over my shoulder. I didn't even notice that his manager went out to the car, leaving him to say goodbye.

"Maybe we could get coffee when I'm done shooting here?"

"Why, may I ask?"

"Because you're unlike anyone I've ever met. In a good way, that is." I laugh at him and nodd. I could tell he was slightly freaking out, not wanting to make it seem bad.

"Well I mean you have my number. It's a date." I walk him over to the door and as I'm about to close it, he leans in close and kisses my cheek.

"It's a date." I close the door, turn around, and sink to the ground. I smile and bite my lip a tiny bit. I don't know who this guy thinks he is, but he is in a bunch of trouble since he is famous. So am I. My smile drops. I've spent less than 12 hours with this man and am already falling head over heels. I get up off the floor and go over to my couch. 'Well I guess it's either now or never'.

I sigh and turn on the TV, getting ready to do some research. Just then my phone buzzes. I reach over and pick it up off the coffee table. It's from an unknown number.

I smile to myself and know that I'm gonna have to rethink some life decisions. I add his number to my phone and make a mental note to text him back. I'm so glad I decided to take out the trash instead of procrastinate.

What is it that I hear? There's trouble in town? Don't worry, superman is here to save the day *wink with the diamond smile like in old hollywood movies* (i am currently experiencing secondhand embarrassment from what i just wrote.... why can't i be normal and just say hi :) how are you?)

i've read some of my mutuals already betting on who's gonna win queendom. a lot of them predict loona, but i could also see wjsn win it too with their steady rise to fame. at least, from what i've witnessed. i admit i'm not a wjsn fan (sorry idk the name of the fandom) but i think that since last, they've gained some popularity. especially with chocome. anyway, i have a theory that might just be my insomnia speaking but if kep1er is in here, maybe it's because msnake wants to push them even more? or maybe because they couldn't find another gg that wanted to participate? i still haven't watched the performances. i can't wait to watch them because from the gifs i've seen, they seem awesome! if you ever feel like talking about a performance in particular, please do so. i love hearing people talk about things they enjoy <3

*big sigh of relief* i'm SO glad we're talking about the same sport when talking about football. i was scared for a second. but finally someone i can talk about football with! i'm not the most passionate fan but i do enjoy watching football from time to time. i can't watch la liga or premier league games because i have to pay and i don't have the money </3 but one thing for sure is that i enjoy watching people talk about games and talking about technical stuff. it's fascinating to me. so fascinating that my mom questions my sanity with the amount of 'commentary' i watch 🤧 to go back to your question, my favourite team would be real madrid. it's just that i grew up with the dream team and i can't detach myself from this team. i also have a little soft spot for n'golo kanté. this man is so humble and kind it's unreal. literally!

don't worry, it's okay if you know who i am (even though i'd probably hide in a corner and be a little bit ashamed but it's okay). as for dramas, it really depends. i like a lot of genres but the main reason for watching one is the actors in it. if there's someone i really like in it, i'm going to watch it. i still prefer something lighthearted and funny because my heart can't take sadness or fear :( so i'll say i'm more of a romcom & slice of life (wait, idk how to phrase it because i'm too tired rn) type of girl.

i did see that rv promoted in my dreams and i'm kinda sad because it's not my fave either. but as long as they get to perform, it's the most important thing. they just released the teaser for wildside and the outfits in the videos are AMAZING wow! but since it's supposed to be out by monday, will they still promote feel my rhythm or not? i'm intrigued

for me it has to be one of them and i’m not even a huge fan of either group and have only recently started listening to them (again this was vianey’s influence) the new wjsn chocome song was definitely what got me into them as well it’s so fun!!! yeah i definitely think you're onto something there! most likely they're just trying to give them more exposure and keep pushing them! i don't mind they're on the show because i really like them as a group i just hope it's not too hard on them after already doing girls planet!

yeah i’m the same! football is somewhat more of a recent hobby for me though i think it’s coming up to 3 years so maybe not that recent? but it really doesn’t feel that long to me ajksdhaks so i’m probably not the most knowledgeable on the topic it’s just something i enjoy these days! i only really follow the premier league though but i understand not being able to watch the games! sometimes there’s a few that aren’t broadcast on tv here so i use this site footybite.cc i highly recommend it they usually have every game and the streams are good quality! ohh interesting.. 📝 (that’s me taking notes for clues) i don’t really keep up with football outside of the premier league so i’m not very familiar with real madrid but obviously i know of them and know they are a great team!! and i know of kanté too from watching chelsea but as a tottenham fan i am inclined to hate chelsea but i trust you when you say that he's really kind!!

i maybe have an idea but i would never say it in case i’m wrong and embarrass myself so i will just enjoy the fun secret messages for now! i wouldn’t want to ruin your big reveal whenever that may be! ohhh that doesn’t surprise me since you love ghibli movies and they’re definitely that kind of slice of life genre! then if i were to recommend some thai dramas for you to watch i would suggest great men academy or angel beside me. they’re both really cute romance stories with an element of magic (unicorns and angels!) and overall are quite lighthearted and feel good shows though they do have some emotional and touching moments but i feel it’s just the right amount and makes the happier moments so much more powerful!

yesss you’re right! it’s just nice to see them perform and even though it’s not my favourite song i still enjoyed it because i love red velvet! YES i’m really excited for wildside it sounds really good!! i think because it’s a japanese release they most likely won’t promote it and will just continue promoting feel my rhythm but i think most sm artists don’t promote on music shows for very long anyway.. hopefully we will get a few live performances for wildside because i think i’m going to love it!

i mentioned it earlier but my team is tottenham hotspur!! i could get super cringey and talk about them for hours but i will just say they feel like my besties and i love them :( i have to say heung min son is my favourite player since he started my whole love of football but of course i can’t mention tottenham hotspur without mentioning harry kane! he’s an amazing player and person but i love everyone at spurs!

Final Battle preview

This is traditionally one of the biggest annual shows in Ring of Honor, but it's particularly important this year because of the company's uncertain future. After this show, ROH will go on hiatus, with all contracted talent being released. In theory the promotion will return for Supercard of Honor in April, with a roster of freelance wrestlers, but it's just as possible that the company will simply shut down for good. Either way, Final Battle will be an end of an era, just shy of ROH's 20th anniversary.

The show will air live on Saturday, December 11, at 8pm Eastern, with a free pre-show starting at 7. You can order it on Fite.tv for $24.99. I assume you can still subscribe to Honor Club to watch it that way, but Honor Club was never a particularly great value and it sure won't be going forward.

Jay Lethal vs. Jonathan Gresham - This was originally scheduled to be Gresham challenging Bandido for the ROH men's world title. But, in one last bad stroke of luck for ROH, Bandido tested positive for COVID-19 and was pulled from the show on December 9. Stepping in at the last minute is Lethal, an ROH mainstay who appeared to be done with the company after he signed with AEW last month. It's possible that Bandido's title will be vacated and awarded to the winner of this match, but we can't be sure yet. As of this writing, ROH has only said they will address the title situation during the pre-show.

As luck would have it, Lethal and Gresham have some unfinished business that can play into this last-minute match. They held the tag team title from December 2019 through February 2021. In November 2020 they formed the Foundation, a faction dedicated to protecting the honor and integrity of pro wrestling and so forth. However, in Lethal's last appearance with ROH, he was caught on tape disavowing the Foundation. Lethal insisted that it was a smear job by the Righteous, and that he was taken out of context, but Gresham was skeptical. That story seemed to be dead when Lethal jumped to AEW, but now these two can settle it in the ring.

ROH has featured a wide variety of styles over the years, but the brand is built around a commitment to he traditions and honor of classic pro wrestling. As a mat-based technician, Gresham has come to symbolize that--he's been outspoken about how much it means to him to work for and represent this company. When the shutdown news hit, I think everyone figured he had to be in the main event of this show, before becoming the hottest free agent on the market. Regardless of the opponent or the stakes or even the outcome, this match is his story. I'm confident he'll make it a good one.

I think Gresham was generally favored to win the title from Bandido, but now that it's a non-title match against an AEW guy, it's even harder to argue that he should lose. I suppose AEW could have allowed Lethal to come in on the condition that he goes over, but if that were the case I think ROH would have just looked for someone else. My prediction is that Gresham wins this match, and the fate of the world title will end up revolving around him one way or another.

Matt Taven & Mike Bennett vs. Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe - Taven and Bennett, the OGK, are defending the ROH tag team title. The Briscoes are currently the GCW tag team champions, but that title is not at stake.

Just as Gresham represents ROH's notion of honor, the Briscoes represent the history of the company--as they've eloquently put it, they've been here since day one. I'd wager that most wrestling fans associate ROH with guys like Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, or the Young Bucks. The Briscoes don't fit that stereotype of cool flippy dudes--they're primarily just two brawlers from a chicken farm in rural Delaware. But while other teams have come and gone, they've been the benchmark for ROH's tag division for just about 20 years. It's so important for them to be on this show, challenging for the tag belts one last time, that I genuinely wonder if this match will close the show.

It might seem like a formality that Taven and Bennett are just here to drop the belts. But they did a promo for this match I really liked, where they emphasized how important it is to win here. The Briscoes are ROH, but Taven has put too much of himself into ROH to go down without a fight. For Bennett, who only just returned last year, holding ROH gold is the fairy tale ending after several tumultuous and uncertain years. They made a compelling case for why they should walk out of here with the title.

I could see this going either way. A title win for the Briscoes is so can't-miss that it writes itself--everyone will be happy with that. But it's certainly possible to tell a story about the ROH legends finishing their last night in the company by passing the torch. Either way I expect both teams to fight like there's no tomorrow, and a lot of drama after the finish.

Shane Taylor vs. Kenny King - This is being billed as a "fight without honor," which is ROH's way of saying no count-outs, no disqualifications, anything goes. This match digs up an old beef, where Taylor lost a world title match against Rush due to King's interference. It appears that Rush is long gone from ROH, so Kenny has to fight this battle on his own. I tend to favor Taylor in this one.

Moses Maddox & Jasper Kaun & O'Shay Edwards vs. Vincent & Bateman & Dutch - Shane Taylor Promotions (Moses, Kaun, and Edwards) are defending the ROH trios championship against Vincent's cult-like group, the Righteous. The actual titleholders in STP are Kaun, Moses, and Shane Taylor himself. But since Taylor is booked in another match, STP gets to sub in Edwards. I'm not sure if that means Edwards is officially part of the championship team via the Freebird Rule, or if his team has to win this match for that to happen, or what.

I lost track of Vincent after he turned on Matt Taven a while back, so I gather that he and his cronies are in some kind of hippy flower power cult or something. I guess they could win here. The fact Taylor can't be bothered to defend his own belt here suggests STP is the less cohesive unit, so on paper they ought to lose. Of course, neither team is going to actually do anything with the belts for at least three months, so I suppose it doesn't actually matter.

Josh Woods vs. Brian Johnson - The ROH pure title, currently held by Woods, is at stake. The title is always contested under "pure rules," which basically discourages closed-fist strikes and escaping holds with rope breaks. Unlike most pro wrestling championships, this title can be won and lost via disqualification. The idea is to force the competitors to have a good clean grappling contest, but based on the pure matches I've seen it just forces the competitors to cheat more creatively.

Woods won the title from Gresham, in an upset that is easily the biggest victory of Woods's career. I think Johnson's biggest career highlight is that he was feuding with Danhausen a while back. I don't know enough about either guy to really care what happens. They both have the misfortune of coming up in the dying days of a promotion. But hopefully they can both move onward and upward.

Rok-C vs. Willow Nightingale - Rok-C became the first ROH women's world champion in September; if she successfully defends it here, she may also be the last champion. It's the latest tough break for the company's women's division, which started up in 2017 with a "Women of Honor" title, went dormant two years later, and only just got rebooted a few months ago.

I've heard good things about both women but they've both been under my radar. I'm pretty sure Nightingale had a match or two on AEW Dark, but I hardly ever watch that anymore. I gotta get more in tune with the up and coming future stars. Well, this match is a good place to get started.

Again, it probably doesn't matter much which competitor ends up with the title, but I'm leaning towards Rok-C to hang onto it until April.

Dalton Castle vs. Rhett Titus vs. Silas Young vs. Joe Hendry - This is a four-way match for Castle's ROH television title, so the first man to score a fall on any opponent will win the match and the championship. Hendry is an interesting case, in that he got stuck in the UK when the pandemic started, and this is his first chance to get back in an ROH ring. Last time he was here, he had a passive-aggressive alliance with Castle, and it's anyone's guess how that will play into this match.

ROH never needed two secondary men's singles titles, so the TV belt became kind of pointless the minute they brought back the pure belt. I'm surprised they didn't book a unification match or two on this show. Nevertheless, it's an excuse to get journeymen like Titus and Young on the show, and to let ROH fans get one last look at Castle, who at one time was the most interesting new face in the company.

I'll be rooting for Castle to retain, although what I really want is for him to leave ROH behind and get a big push someplace else. I'm not confident I'll get what I want either way.

Brody King & Homicide & Tony Deppen vs. Tracy Williams & Eli Isom & Taylor Rust - King, Homicide, Deppen, and Chris Dickinson formed Violence Unlimited earlier this year to feud with the Foundation--Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams, and Rhett Titus. But since the rest of the Foundation is busy, Williams has to team with Isom (who's been a prelim guy in ROH for several years) and Rust (formerly NXT's Tyler Rust, who previously wrestled as Russ Taylor).

Now, I'm not saying King's team has to win. But this is essentially the final chapter in the Foundation vs. Violence Unlimited feud. So it'd be pretty weird for the Foundation to get the last laugh in a match where most of them aren't even in it. So I'm pretty sure Violence Unlimited cruises to victory.

Dragon Lee vs. Rey Horus - Lee was a key component of the New Japan/ROH/CMLL alliance, in that he was a big CMLL star who was treated as such in the other two promotions. After he and his family broke ties with CMLL, they remained in ROH as La Faccione Ingobernable. To smooth over CMLL-NJPW relations, Lee had to change his name to "Ryu Lee" in New Japan, but he stuck with "Dragon Lee" here, which tells you what you need to know about CMLL-ROH relations. Horus, meanwhile, was kind of the third wheel in the Mexisquad trio with Bandido and Flamita. So I think this is just a way to get Lee on the show with an easy win in a cool lucha match.

Mandy Leon & Angelina Love & Miranda Alize vs. Chelsea Green & Allysin Kay & Marti Belle - Leon and Love are The Allure, an attempt to recycle what worked when Love was in The Beautiful People back in TNA. I don't think I know anything about Alize--it says here she recently defeated Chelsea Green in an ROH match, so that's not bad. Kay and Belle are the NWA women's tag team champions, The Hex--they haven't done a lot in ROH, but it says here they beat the Allure, so I guess that's all you need to set up this trios match. Green, of course, was released from WWE recently, and has since made a big splash in several different promotions.

I wouldn't say Green, Kay, and Belle are outsiders, necessarily, but Leon and her partners feel more like a "real" ROH team, so you could make a case for them getting the win. Then again, tomorrow none of these women will really be affiliated with ROH, so it just doesn't make any difference. I'm personally rooting for Green.

Ten-man tag team match - This has been announced for the pre-show. No participants have been named yet, but I would presume it's meant to provide a spot for all the guys who want to wrestle on the "final" ROH show but don't have a match.

Glancing at the roster on the company's website, I assume any of the following men could appear in this match: Adam Brooks, the Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas), Dak Draper, Delirious, EC3, Flamita, Flip Gordon, LSG, Mark Haskins, PCO, PJ Black, Will Ferrara, and World Famous CB. That doesn't mean any of them will appear, however--many of them might not even be in the building. So it's a total crapshoot what's going to happen, or who's going to win.

i think that one of my most favorite things to do on my free time is listen to music, and even tho i have tons of different songs on my spotify it's probably the k-pop singers who take most of the space, not only because i've been a fan for many (many) years, but also because i usually get bored of listening to the same ten songs over and over again so i usually go around other people's playlist or the ones that spotify itself makes and recommends to you to try and find something new. lucky it's always a successful search! that's how i met most of my currently fave artists :)

not only i like the feeling of listening and liking new songs, but also the happiness that brings me recommend some to other people and knowing they, at least, gave them a try. so here i am today, with a pretty small list of songs i think you should listen to if you are a k-pop enjoyer (and even if you aren't, ofc!). most if not all of them are b-side tracks, which means not the ones that have a music video and the artist doesn't promote. sometimes the b-sides are even better than the title tracks.

there isn't some sort of pattern for this but i am, in fact, a girl group enjoyer so... sorry in advance?

starting off pretty strong with one of my favorites songs and groups: dreamnote! if someone knows about them i'll be veeery surprised. sadly, they aren't very popular but i'll do anything for them to stop being nugus. i think this is one of their best songs so far, the vocals are out of this world (shout out to their main vocalist, lara!) and everything is just too good for this to be so underrated.

i would also recommend their lastest song called GHOST that has a more "dark", "haunting" concept, if you wanna check them out ♡.

you may or may not have heard of elris. their most popular song is called Pow Pow! and, once again, they aren't very popular but have some pretty good songs! like the one i'm bringing to you today from their last album. even tho, groups like this one that aren't /that/ popular don't tend to have lots of comebacks, i believe is worth it to check them out.

i've obsessed with this song lately. purple kiss! another one of the not-so-popular team. they have not one, but (i believe) two ex produce48 contestants and gosh all seven of them have incredible voices! if you decide to check them out i promise they won't disappoint, they never do.

fun fact: they're under RBW, just like mamamoo!

my most favorite soloist of all times. i'm 75% sure people have heard of him because he was a produce x 101 contestant and actually debuted in the group X1 (that does not longer exist). that was the time when he started to gain lots of fan which i'm very happy for, but if you don't know him, let me introduce him to you: han seungwoo from victon! he has released only two mini albums and is currently serving his country. despite that, he put a lot of effort and emotions in his songs so i definitely recommend his whole discography (not biased i swear) and also if you do like him, check his group out: victon! their songs have lots of different colors so i'm sure you would find something of your liking.

weeekly has been gaining a lot of fans lately (fun fact: they are from the same entertainment as victon and apink) so you may have heard of them. i absolutely love them and their cute, school-like concept even tho is very common in k-pop, but who cares. they are cute and have some great vocalists and dancer, so please give them an opportunity! tag me, their debut song, is also one of my favorites.

I never understood the love in with Ferrari, where people say that Ferrari makes F1, well I love F1 but not Ferrari. They have a lot of Italian support which is slightly strange as you don't see the same for Williams or Mercedes with British or German support. Even if they're the most successful I love football but I can't stand Man U, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. I don't think they're worth more then any other team

It drives me crazy that no one would ever question someone saying that they’re not a Merc fan or an RBR fan but when you say you don’t like Ferrari then suddenly that’s weird and impossible and ‘you don’t understand the history of F1′ and bla bla bla.

I mean, I’m not inherently predisposed against big teams, though I understandwhy a lot of people are. But they DEFINITELY don’t have any sort of divineright to always be at the top, much less to always win. I think that for me theissue of a big established team winning or losing isn’t just about winning orlosing, it’s how they win and how they lose. It’s how they use the standing andpower and wealth at their disposal and how they handle the bad times much morethan the good ones. Like, I hold them to a much higher standard?

I’m a fan of United and Barca for example but my expectations of them gobeyond what happens on the pitch. I expect them to invest heavily in youth developmentand in giving academy players a genuine chance and with both those teams it wastheir proven commitment to youth programs and young players and their attitudeof looking to the future more than the past always looking to the future ratherthan the past that drew me to them vs their often equally successful rivals,much like Red Bull btw. I always feel like those teams are at their best whentheir academies are thriving and just like I’m proud of the fact that a quarterof the current grid are Red Bull juniors I’m proud that United academy playershad the most playing time in first teams of any youth program in the UK anddeeply concerned and angry about the situation at La Masia and the board’sunwillingness to deal with the crisis increasingly seems symptomatic of muchbigger problems at the club.

And when people point out the less savory sides of those clubs then their fans have to take a long hard look at those things.

The RB junior program gets a lot of stick for being so cutthroat but Ilook at the drivers that have come out of it and I’m quite happy to live withthe criticism because ultimately I believe in the current system as a concept.I’d much rather have people criticize Red Bull for how aggressive their juniorprogram is than not have a junior program or have on in name only but nevergive junior drivers a chance at driving for the first team.

At the same time those big clubs are the ones who should be taking the biggest ‘risks’ in terms of promoting equality and fighting discrimination for example.

I expect those big wealthy teams to re-invest a good chunk of theirrevenue in their staff and their facilities, to go above and beyond asemployers and take advantage of their relative stability to let new employeesthrive and create an atmosphere where veteran employees still feel challengedand trusted and wanted. The fact that so many of RBR’s current employees werethere right from the start and have chosen to stay there despite the heavycompetition in the field and despite the fact that so many other teams arebased in the same region is something the team should be very proud of. Thefact that they brought Christian in as a chubby-cheeked 31-year-old on day oneall the way back in 2005 and that Adrian joined one year later and that they’reboth still there all this time later. And it’s the same with Rocky and Jonathanand Pedals and Rob and Dan (Fallows) and Dominik and so many others and just…they’ve all been there for 12 years at this point and they’re still going sostrong. How can anyone say that they have any less passion? That their wins orchampionships are any less worthy or ‘special’? Whatever that means.
