OK so I have an inkling of an idea for a trigun ficlet. A one-shot, really. Not really any plot, but I just have the urge to write my own interpretation of Weird Plant Shit. Like for how much ppl tag this stuff as xeno, most of it's honestly pretty tame. Which kinda makes sense, considering a lot of this is being based off of the plants in stampede, which While uncanny are not NEARLY the amount of inherent horror of the plants in the manga. There's some FREAKY shit going on there. So like. You know. What if I took more inspiration from That for Vash's freaky shit?

side orders upcoming release had me nostalgic for the old splatoon ocs... which made me realize i dont post anything anymore lmao. various splatoons from the last few years. some info under cut

img 1 - to review, i had two agent 3s as a joke (left: stinky, right: three). when the splat3 premise was dropped/leaked idr, i was like "haha wow im all set no new oc needed"

im gonna do it in order zombies -> zombie superpowers -> superpowers okay. i realised u maybe just meant the one thats both im not sure? but i already typed most of this up so too bad

first up egressregress babeyyyy we all know... i think its set in like. the 2000s/early 2010s... there was a poorly handled viral outbreak that caused zombies to happen etc. its pretty much your typical "society is broken down the government fell everythings a free for all" situation. theres pockets of civilization but much, much more small and scattered, there are areas with few or no people, there are areas that are controlled by certain groups or factions, etc. there is some form of self appointed government out there but they ghave no far reaching control.

the characters the story centers around are mostly isolated- they live close by but still a distance away from a well known main road that leads to an area controlled by the "government" and other safe zones and so is often traveled. cooper, dahlia, and elliot are somewhat a group, but they fucking hate each other so bad and they all suck.

the zombies themselves are pretty generic. disease spread via bite it over the course of days to maybe two weeks at most with no intervention degrades the body and eats away at the brain. theyre slow moving, generally die partway into the disease progression, and move out of instinct. theres not much of a focus on the zombies themselves in the story, but they do play a part in the mindset and morality of cooper

THA SECOND ONE my furry zombie superpowers world. smiles. so this is like my newest ocs so i genuinely dont have much but its one that i really really enjoy bc its very self indulgent lol. its... i want to say kind of futuristic? but its a different world as well so. like its not Futuristic but its set in a world w technology + stuff slightly more advanced than ours. its like Furry World. u get it

theres a very small subset of people who have or develop powers. it is there is a genetic factor to it but i dont really have that thought out yet... typically they develop around puberty but can and do develop at any time in someones life

the story starts at the onset of a zombie outbreak- there are very, very few cases, but it is widespread, and extremely dangerous. id say its been like a few months since the first case... the main characters are a part of a team sent out to investigate and study the disease in an attempt to figure out how it spreads and try to find a cure, or at least prevent it from spreading further. the main character, leah, is a "scientist" on this team- shes the one leading the research for her group. leah has powers that appear very similar to the physical symptoms of the disease. shes trying her hardest to keep it under wraps while they investigate, and desperately hoping that there is no link between her and the outbreak

leahs powers are... bio-manipulation? essentially. she cannot alter the mind but can do a lot of crazy shit to the body

the virus ive actually thought about this one pretty in depth okay hold on. its spread through body fluids primarily and is asymptomatic + will remain such unless its exposed to someone with a symptomatic infection (generally via bite but can also be spread through body fluids). if youre bitten by someone with a symptomatic case and you dont have the virus youll just die no zombie mess it iwll kill u... the progression of the disease once "activated" (idk) is slow it generally takes minimum a week before it reaches its final stage but usually takes closer to 2, with 4 weeks being the longest it can take. it causes rapid physical growth + mutations, mostly additional body parts, and causes a huge increase in metabolic processes and how much fuel the body needs that eating enough food is almost impossible, and it starts eating at the body and brain pretty quickly. eventually the person dies but the body is still driven on by the disease until it eats itself alive, and is unable to function anymore. common mutations are just growth of the body and replication of body parts, especially teeth, fingers, and stomachs, but it also commonly duplicates limbs eyes other organs etc. (SECRAT ACTUAL PLOT POINT SPOILER) in the circumstance the body mutates in a way that lets it take in larger amounts of food (more stomachs mouths teeth) and has access to enough food, for example a group of people dedicated to feeding it, it can, theoretically, grow forever. eventually the mutations will be so severe it will be unrecognizable as having been a person and can no longer move. itd be pretty much impossible to keep one fed for more than a year or so unless you were feeding it like. a ridiculous amount of meat.

last storuy ok the superpowers one. i dont have much additional to say wrt the powers than i did in the other post but i can tell u about the people... i actually have a fair few characters for this one but the story centers on adrienne. adrienne is a teenage girl with kinetic manipulation powers, she can store and use kinetic energy which generally comes out as some find of explosive force or something like that. i really am not happy with her story because shes a very old character now so i need to rework it a lot. some other characters:

kasey- a young woman with healing powers who was working as an EMT when her powers developed. she resents her powers and has the same mentor as adrienne, theyre narrative foils, etc.

sonar- adrienne and kaseys mentor. hes ex superhero + regrets his time as a hero, and is trying to get the girls on track. he doesnt want anything to do with the whole hero and villain sort of scene anymore but feels obligated to keep the others safe

longshot- ^sonars ex husband lol. hes a hero turned villain, in part because of their falling out, but bc of a lot of other things too. he has really good eyesight and shoots people. with guns

roulette, copycat, 2 more unnamed characters- a small villain group that are involved in the plot and that adrienne gets involved with while shes trying to do...whatever i decide she ends up doing in her new story. they arent anything serious and mostly just rob banks and shit

it’s the thought of swap being alone. someone different in the face of the multiverse. bc he’s the ‘old one out’ in a (very literal) sense. there are so many variations of ‘swap’ out there. even a bastardized version that was caused by a popular series of misconceptions.

Heavily vibes based. leaning into swap’s (or outer’s) confusion regarding the multiverse. kind of plays into how old their aus are respectively

outer or swap being introduced to the multiverse in some way. being hopeful or wary. their perception of the multiverse being VERY narrow. the echoing "hello"s could signify the other outcodes greeting them or other past residents of aus. also plays into sans' "knowing more than he lets on" trait where they probably had some idea of alternate universes existing before being directly introduced to them

frozen margaritas in Austin -> the birthplace and deathplace of Elvis

really just vibes. imagining them talking to out-codes (namely dream or error) and becoming more warmed up to the multiverse. visiting the omega timeline too

the slow pace of it up to here makes me think of swap or outer or both missing their homes. possibly missing their narrow view of the universe. missing when the world (still endlessly big) was a little smaller

to me is about swap joining/formulating the star sanses with their first multiverse friends. but the connection they NEED isn’t there. the connections theyre craving arent there. dream themself is still getting used to forming those deep connections or refuses to due to the influence of their aura and the potential codependency that may develop due to it. and ink is not looking to view these guys as more than "characters" (for his mental safety tbh)

swap wants that connection though, he wants friends that he can go to and hang out with. he's desperate for that validation and acceptance, as someone that's so different. he wasn't taken seriously (enough to become part of the guard) in his universe so why did he expect differently here

swap possibly sorting through their feelings. he begins seeking out other friends, or places he can relax outside of his home universe. at this point he knows of error and their interests. or outertale was mentioned at some point. either way, he seeks comfort in that universe

this is swap directly communicating his feelings to outer after forming that bond. outer themself rarely left their home universe, opting to welcome monsters that visit the place. outertale is like a tourist stop in that way or at least a place frequently visited by others. it took some time for outer to move past cagey and distrustful to being more open (which isnt by much)

i met you through the television screen. i fell in love with the guy smiling at the audience. and now this love is praecox feeling. and now this love is aspect dawning

swap thinking about ink. possibly learning about ink’s ‘mentality’ and how he only sees them all as ‘characters’. swap’s idolization of dream too! believing that they had the full picture for everything.

swap saw these two as gods almost. beings higher than him. their treatment of their relationship (not deepening their bond past 'coworkers') didnt help to dissuade swap's initial idolization, causing it to snowball into something more severe and possibly toxic.

i can also see this as swap developing a crush on dream but thats pretty 'straight-from-the-lyrics' to me. and i personally view them as best friends

this felt like a mostly swap to outer dump though. outer mostly stayed within their universe and didnt develop that many multiverse affecting friends (like dream or ink or error) outer mainly hangs out with sans, fell, swap, horror, dance and epic at the very least.

error is around too but they dont exactly talk too much. silent acknowledgment and mutual "youre alright" relationship. i can definitely see outer drawing someone like nightmare to them bc of the quiet atmosphere and lack of an ulterior motive

also outer being friends with another character that mostly sticks to their home universe: ccino :3

absolutely self-indulgent owl language breakdown from my owl house daemon au bc i was having fun with it today:

so we have 'wings-across-night' which is what the owl beast/firefly calls herself in her own language. the sounds of this name are spelled out as 'grr-click-growl', which, bc i have a sounds-to-general-meaning dictionary, is this idea of like...

the 'grr' and 'growl' are these lasting sounds, longer, and somewhat low and dangerous, which get across the 'wings' and 'night' idea that posit firefly as a hunter, who hunts best in the night. then we have the 'click' for across which is sort of a joining-together, and all-together it comes across as this long rumbling sound, ie of an owl in flight across the sky.

and then we get to FIREFLY, which, man it took me a WHILE to get to firefly as the translated witch-language/english version of wings-across-night. its this idea that...wings-across-night is a hunter of the night, she is someone who is found and associated with darkness, but it ALSO has an implication of being seen: she flies across the night, and is thus illuminated by it.

and so FIREFLY. as these creatures who glow in the dark, who live there and make it their own with something bright inside of them and its just so FUN.

and we get!! other names too! like 'king' being 'puffs out chest' because it comes from that sorta arrogance of his youth, being an itty-bitty baby who saw himself as the king of demons, but then later on its also this idea of like, how one might puff up as a sort of way of saying im HERE, not in an arrogant way but in a claiming this place as their own sort of way, which king does: he might be a titan but hes also a CLAWTHORNE.

'one that hoards' is what 'the collector' translates to in owl, but firefly doesnt call him this for long...bc the thing she notices about them is how SCARED they can get, how hesitant they are, bc theyve had so much taken from them and theyre protective of what they do have, yes in a way that can be harmful (look at their relationship w king lol) but also like...reaches out scared...and so we get this translating to 'sraf' in witch-language because that's what it is all about, in the end: the collector who has reached, terrified, for this thing he was told to avoid, and made it his own, and made himself sraf.

sea-and-light for luzmari is one of the first owl-names i came up with and one im still so fond of...they're called sea-and (mari) or and-light (luz) separately but no matter what we get the AND in there, tying them together as a pair despite all else. 'light' is straightforward for luz but 'sea' is a bit less for mari, but it connects for both of them similar things--light being the glyph luz finds first, ice being the one mari did, but mari not being so cold despite it all, but a thing ice melts into. (also when i was picking names i saw that 'maritza' means something relating to the sea, tho this was Years ago n i dont know how true that is lol since i dont have the source anymore). mari being first because she has chosen to be first, flipping the human-first script on its tail, bc firefly is an owl, and why would she follow convention?

im still poking around at my names for hunter and amity...last night i came up with something like berrysharp or berry-click or berry-(click) for amity and alma--i know they get a name together because they are almost always holding on to one another, and 'berry' for this sort of idea of both the purple but also like, berries can be bitter, sweet, something inbetween, and amityalma have been A Lot Of Things. and then the sharpness being the idea of like, throughout the fic amity is sort of the first character to just be HERSELF, especially when compared to luzmari who spend nearly the entire series really struggling with this...dunno this one im still turning over lol. the 'click' part of things is just bc 'click' tends to mean like, combining two things, which seems fitting for a name that is amity and alma together.

i have Nothing yet for hunter. some ideas. ive been toying with hunter and flapjack's name being something, and then somethings shadow--ie whatever name one of them gets, the other gets the same name with shadow tacked on, which fits their Vibes, plus when firefly meets them, which is post-hollow mind when things are Bad. prooooobably it would go flapjack and then hunter is flapjack's shadow, which i think is fun...but we'll see i still need a NAME. something to do with palistrom trees?

so many questions i have, but i wanna ask about the oc in that unknown soldier piece ur published! who is he? any strong ideas of his character/plot or is he more of a vague oc for drawing purposes? also, any oc uve made for entirely self-indulgent reasons? not for a story or specific idea just 'it would be so cool'/'theyre just like me' kind of motivations

His name is Patrick and he exists in the same bubble as Michael and Ronnie.

They all do have backstories but they don't really have like a coherent plotline or a story with a message. They all represent different things. They all have a long long history of being different characters and changing and growing as i grew. There are different iterations of them and these "newest" ones mostly represent my own struggles with adulthood and also they represent my want for male friendships bc ive never really had that.

Patrick form all the three might be the one that I myself relate to the most and the one i project myself most to. He's my fav even if I like almost never draw him <333

Patrick is very quiet and non confrontational. He goes with the flow and doesn't really stick out. He doesn't voice out his thoughts that much and usually gets along with anyone. He's like that one kid in school that you see all the time but don't really know anything about.

He lives with his mother and his step-father. When he was about 12 years old his father died in a car accident, which left his mother depressed and vulnerable. (there's this scene that im debating over where a few weeks after his father's death, Patrick's walking home and see what he thinks is his father at their house's window. He runs in and sees a figure for a second before it disappears. this is just me consuming paranormal content thought lol) His baseball cap was originally his fathers.

When his step-father came into their lives, it was more of Patrick's mother needing a person her age to lean onto and that man taking an advantage of that situation. From the start Patrick and his step-father did not get along. Or more like his step-father did not like him. He became very verbally and physically abusive towards Patrick.

During his teenage years he started drinking which slowly it developed into alcoholism. He also got addicted to painkillers because of his constant headaches. After he turned 18 he immediately left his childhood home and moved to his own apartment in another city. His addictions got even worse when he lived on his own. Though he was able to hold a job, he still found himself being drunk rather than sober.

The main shtick is his struggle with addiction and more directly alcoholism(theres a direct link to finnish alcohol culture in him bc of my background but i wont get into it now). And i like to explore it from Ronnie's perspective. In their 20s they reconnected after having a falling out in high school and Ronnie witnessed first hand the brutal grip that the addiction had on his friend. And knowing that he truly can't do anything unless Patrick himself wants to get better (bc thats the way with addicts they will never recover if they don't want it themselves. you cant force them to quit bc they will go back). Eventually he lost his job and needed to get help from the goverment to survive and to pay his bills and have food. Ronnie at first helped him out finacially but then he realized it's just enabling Patrick's addiction bc all that money he got was spent on alcohol, so he stopped that. But still gave him emotional support but refused to help him out financially.

Through years and years of struggle and after many stern talks with Ronnie, Patrick started to realise his own illness. He saw how bad his health was and how alcohol had fucked him up in every level, he started a recovery journey.

After he got out of the chains he returned back to his hometown and to see his mom. But he was greeted by his childhood home turned into a dumpster. His step-father had left his mother years ago and she was left to take care of herself alone. She had started hoarding due to the stress and depression and had developed early signs of alzheimers. Patrick took her to a hospital and got her some treatment. He struggled with his own guilt of leaving her and letting her get to that stage.

Also he's like the one oc that fears every time i look at them bc they know they will go through some shit

a long and silly exercise in worldbuilding mostly lol

by soulmates i mean like fanfiction style with the little indicators of who your soulmate is and stuff. matching soulmarks, first words, names, see in black and white until you meet 'em, whatever. i think documenting potential reactions of all of these Horrible Nightmare People to a concept as fundamentally fluffy as fanfiction soulmates is kind of a fun idea and i've been occasionally picking it up and toying with it on and off since like september

it's also kind of fun in a. "whoever you are, whatever you've done, someone out there is fated to love you unconditionally (EXTREMELY DEROGATORY)" way if that makes sense. i'm fond of the idea of healthy and loving relationships between deeply evil and fucked up people, partly bc it's fun in an addams kind of way and partly because if you wanna take it seriously and in depth it's kind of a fun way to like, interrogate a bunch of things about love

(i'm not really planning on taking the obvious route of "fucked up you don't get a choice, what if your soulmate sucks" bc that just kinda turns it into arranged marriage with less steps and i think it does a disservice to stories about arranged marriages to mix them up with soulmates. i've got other ideas) (again: "whoever you are, whatever you've done, someone out there is fated to love you unconditionally (EXTREMELY DEROGATORY)")

anyway i think all of this stuff would have an interesting communication with 40k's whole thing, w how romantic and gothic and such the idea of soulmates can become and how easily it can entangle and complicate situations. like imagine having a soulmate on comorragh. or as a space marine. warhammer 40k does this thing a lot where everybody presents themselves as above love and care for one another, and i think soulmates could be a fun way of exposing the soft gummy flesh underneath the ceramite or whatever and interrogating how 40k portrays (and how its characters feel and lack) love and, most of all, vulnerability

(because like. i could easily characterize it as 40k characters being "above emotion", but that's kind of bullshit, 'cause that's what chaos is all about, yeah? everyone in chaos feels extremely deeply. uncomplicated cheer, withered gloom, self-indulgent pleasure, bitter rage, increasing desperation, intellectual curiosity... whatever you like, but not even chaos wants to present as vulnerable. everyone in warhammer 40k has their shields up, and some of the strongest emotional moments in novels, that stick with me the longest after i read them, is when something finally breaks through, unwanted)

anyway also i think its hilarious if there's imperial planets who think soulmates are a sign of witchcraft and you gotta get burned at the stake vs planets who think theyre a gift from the emperor who personally sets you up like some kind of bored schoolteacher

DFJKFG tbh aliens are the only ones i really thought through on a deep level bc unfortunately i am not beating the sc* f* enjoyer allegations ✋

aliens - for their evolutionary biology its just an amalgamation of insects, deep sea animals, the aye-aye, and shit i stole from twilight zone kdfj bc of sixam being pretty dark, they evolved to have large eyes to gather as much light as possible (they also have a tapetum lucidum). they rely on their ears which are v large and can rotate 180 degrees. i havent considered why they have antennae bc its not like theyre large enough relative to their size to feel around like an insect but ill eventually think of some pseudo-science to excuse me adding it just bc its cute lol. socially, theyre extremely different from humans and the family structure is more comparable to bees or ants (just bc i think its incredibly boring in sci-fi when aliens are just Humans But Green)

vampires - literally just standard vampires lol i didnt really change mine from the usual pop culture vampire canon. except for the fact that the sojuverse tm aliens are like a minimum of 7 feet tall in their dark form bc im self indulgent

mermaids - more like harpies in terms of temperament, i love my fish women who kill people. again i just think its kinda boring to make normal model-like people but Fish at the end so theyre pretty gruesome looking lmao. shark teeth, big black eyes, claws, all that jazz

oh my god LOL you picked the what goes on in neverland masterdoc which i included as a wip even tho the first few chaps r posted and i haven't started chapter 4 yet cause it's still technically a wip. it's just the most chaotic bulletpoints you've ever seen bc i just write ideas how they come to me, which includes meme format. here are some highlights

this aint even the tip of the iceberg lol i just love making countless Funny Littel Guys. the masterpost is basically everyone whos recent/developed enough that i feel comfy like talking abt them in detail.

of the ones on the masterpost tho wendy and co are my earliest. the characters from that sorta story verse thing have been with me since high school and have changed quite a bit over time. but still i rly love them and i think they and their continued presence in my life after all this time rly embody the beauty of being a freaky little teen making up self indulgent stories for the heck of it.

i thhhhink the most recent ones there are des and ange and all those folks which is sorta funny bc they (as well as some of the other more recent additions tbh) rly represent for me a return to form visa vie silly self indulgent teen bullshit. i originally came up with the core concept of them as monster high ocs! now theyre kinda their own thing but still v much in that sorta style of like. storytelling that focuses more on whats fun over what makes the most logical sense lol.

fun fact a number of my more recent and especially more recent monstery ocs belong to that same universe which is sort of a uhh like a low fantasy world where magic and monsters an all that intersect with mundane day to day existence. not all of them are destined to cross paths tho.

i dont think its like universally true that my style and approach to storytelling has come full circle but even if it were tbh i think thats kinda ideal. like that part of my life where i was a kid basically living in my own head sucked in a lot of ways but it was definitely the point where my creativity was the most free flowing. so i guess my big creative goal rn is to make stuff with the same reckless sense of fun as when i was a kid but with the experience and awareness to avoid some of the Problems my earlier attempts inevitably had.
