Marrying the Zora Guard Captain- Bazz x reader

i had to write this one, because i needed a part 2 to this one. i hope you all enjoy <3

(p.s.: it’s kinda long, but i have a big crush on Bazz, soooo...)

y/n - your name

when you were just dating, Bazz wasn’t much for pda

again, you may have gotten a small peck or a kiss on the hand

but when this man FINALLY pops the question, he’s a completely different person

he’s so proud of the relationship you both have

and he wants to show you off to the entire world

when he planned to propose, he had the entire Zora Guard in on it

he had them cover his duties for the entire day

just so he could be with you for every moment of it

even Sidon was adding some of the guard duties to his busy schedule

you expected something was up, because this man wouldn’t give up his captain duties for just anything

it had to be something important

he’d decided to take you outside the domain, which was already a risky move on his part

but he wanted to prove to you that he was ready to start this journey with you

and with you two always talking about the beauty of the Akkala region on your many visits to Toto Lake, mainly about how you both wanted to visit Akkala Falls just below, that’s where he wanted to go

he’d often discuss it with his father, and he (Seggin) would have his doubts

“If I could get my hands on a ring, I think the trek to the falls will be manageable. How hard can it be?”

oh Hylia, this man loves you

on the way, this man is picking one of every flower he sees for you

and he is having such a hard time keeping this proposal a surprise

and then… he realizes you both have to dive down the falls

and that picking flowers was probably a dumb decision

so before diving, he hands them to you with a smile

“See you down there?”

you do get nervous before diving, but Bazz is watching you carefully

and soon enough, you’re both in the Akkala region, resting on the bank-side of Akkala Falls

your laughter makes his heart flutter

“I think it’d be kind of stupid of me if I didn’t ask you to marry me right now, you know?”

you’re still too in shock of him leaving the domain to process his statement

“Y/n, my darling. I’ve been wanting to take this journey with you for a while, and in doing so, I’ve realized how ready I am to start a new journey… with you. I would be absolutely honored if you accepted this proposal in marriage. But, I do understand if yo—”

you cut him off with a passionate kiss

over the next few months, you both discuss what you’d like for the ceremony

but it’s seeming to be a lot more work than you anticipated for

and eloping is sounding more and more enticing to the two of you

so once again, you’re setting off to the Akkala region to see Kapson in Tarrey Town

of course Bazz lets his father know and gives orders to the members of the Zora Guard in his absence

the trek to Tarrey Town is long, but more beautiful than you ever could have imagined

Bazz is enamored by the colors of the leaves, as there’s only conifers back in the domain

and seeing this excitement within him makes your heart feel so full

once you arrive, Kapson is more than pleased to officiate your elopement

and the moment you two are wed, Bazz can’t help but to cry from happiness

of course there are a TON of stops on the way back to the domain

when you both return to the domain, a ceremony is held for the two of you

Sidon absolutely wanted to do something special

everyone has a pleasant time

when Bazz returns to work, he is constantly thinking about you

not to say he wasn’t when you were only dating, but... this is a whole new level

and if he’s asked to do something risky for the Zora Guard, he comes to you for permission

because your input to him is equally important, if not more important than his

“I’m sorry, but I will have to decline at this time. Y/n and I have made dinner plans, and I would not miss that for the world.”

he still plans date nights with you

and they’re filled with so much fun and love

he loves that he gets to spend your lives’ together

and he wouldn’t have it any other way

I will never not be at least a bit baffled how I never got into mcr. A friend can happily try to change that but I tried to for them but just. Could not get into it. By all means I should or child me should have but I guess it never aligned for me. Like yeah I like the black parade who doesn't but that's that.

Grounbreaking a fuck ton the album we are monsters came out when I got snatched from home and put somewhere that only caused more trauma for the first time and I could forever talk abt him I listen to everything since then.

Set it off too but not too many dif songs back then. midnight had such a tight grip on me and i still find the whole album such a banger but that came out in 2019.

Oh fuck almost forgot linkin park (i still think abt those dumb "link in park" edits w tloz link in a park help). who doesn't know at least in the end. listened to a few songs by them too. in the end is still such a banger.

I think those are all in this category that I have kind of a connection to artist wise and didn't just listen to a couple of songs. all others aren't such artists bc i also coped w love songs a fuck ton (and my lifeline who I thought abt when I did remains the same and prob will until i die) or other stuff

ofc i was and still am a marina girlie but that isn't in this category. electra heart fav album there prob.

Alright I'm in a nerd rage so here's a thing:

The wii motion controls in Skyward Sword are not NEARLY as bad as people make them out to be. The main reason people have issue with the controls is that they just forget or refuse to play the game as intended, in favor of trying to half ass the motions to play like a standard controller game or just flailing around. I feel like the difference between a good and a bad playthrough is how familiar you are with wii sports and resort, since the majority of the weapons controls in SS can be mastered in those games. Like guys come on its the wii if you don't have tennis elbow by the end of the game you're not playing it right.

MH World Beta - Thoughts and Impressions

Thanks to @stygian-zinogre-zero who was ok with me stealing borrowing her ps4 for an hour to play the World Beta! I got to play all three hunts and I used two weapons, but no online (didn't have time). Here are some of my thoughts. Oh yeah, this is a pretty long post so I separated things into categories.

Spoilers Ahead!

Controls

Holy cow this game is smooth! Playing with the awesome ps4 controller is a blast.

The button placement is good but a bit weird for me because I’m coming from the 3DS. That's why I decided to change my main weapon (more on that below)

Gameplay

Because of smooth controls I feel like this game is less clunky than 4U and Gen.

Dodging is great, much more control than I had in the 3ds games.

Little to no lag! It takes a while to load the map but once it does the map is pretty much free reign for you to explore. Super smooth and barely noticeable zone transitions.

No stamina loss while traversing is great, but it's jarring when you start the hunt. I was trying to ignore a pack of Jagras but because they follow you I could not start the no stamina loss mode of running.

Tracker bugs…I’m not sure if I like it. It's useful for finding things and the tracking mechanic is awesome, but many times I got lost because the bugs would pick up on something random.

Mantles are really cool. They add a new dimension to how you traverse the land. Because of the infinite running, I didn't really pause to check out the land until I started using mantles. Not really my style but hey they are cool.

Lock on works better for me than in the 3ds games.

Running and healing is great and not too overpowered since you slow down while drinking any potions.

UI and HUD

I have a love/hate relationship with the HUD of this game. First and foremost, it works. Everything is where I want it to be. HUD is out of the way and lets me enjoy my game. Also it works great for HH. At the same time some of the stuff I want clearer on HUD is a bit hard to find, such as stamina and items.

UI is nice and streamlined, but it's missing that Monster Hunter aesthetic I really like from the previous games. Yeah the item icons are the same and all but the UI design feels more like a modern ps4 game. It works but meh when it comes to design. I realize this is only the beta and may change in the final. (plz change Capcom)

Sound

It feels like I am playing Jurassic Park. I miss the old Monster Hunter horn sounds and derpy Myas! from my cats.

Music does add to the vast atmosphere the game tries to capture. But Tri I think does this better while keeping with that MH vibe (kinda like Breath of the Wild ost vs every other Zelda game ost, more atmospheric but not really classic TLoZ).

However monster themes are still great. Dramatic and transition nicely.

Monsters

Great Jagras = I really like the iguana design, definitely matches the tropical feel of the map. It's a bit weak (though it may be because of the Beta and because I am a veteran hunter) for my taste as the first Jaggi monster. Great Jaggi is still the better starter monster in my opinion.

Barroth = Mud pupper is back and his head is as hard as I remember. I didn't really get to see it roll in the mud as often as before though, and the fight felt easier? (again could be because it's the Beta). I really like the mud effects, makes it looked “armored” rather than just muddy.

Jyuratodus = Heh, it's a weaker mud Plesoth. But that’s not a bad thing. It really teaches hunters to watch out for the muddy water. I didn't see it until it lept out to attack. This was my first encounter with monster that fight each other. This muddy was fighting the above mud pupper and it was awesome. Used that to my advantage and whatnot. It is weaker, I will say that. But its size is not something to underestimate (this thing is big).

Anjanath = Not what I was expecting. This monster is freaking tall. Like really tall. At first I thought the colorations and design were a bit weird, but when you play, it all works together. The fin and nose flares make it look even bigger, along with its fur shoulder coat. Flare attack is scary when you least expect it. Personally I ended up liking this guy more than I thought I would :)

The monsters overall look great. They are big and use the entire area for their advantage. More than once, Barroth lured me into the swamp to slow me down, putting the fight to its advantage.

I had the same pinned to the corner issues as the 3ds games but I was able to dodge out of monster attacks easier than in the 3ds games.

Hip checks are back! But they aren't as annoying as I remember. Maybe the hitboxes are a bit better this time around?

Weapons (I only got to use CB and HH)

Charge Blade

Smooth. I felt like I could do more with this system than with 3ds. Guard points were easier for me this time around.

Muscle memory from the 3ds made me miss press buttons more than once. Dodging is now in a different place… This is a personal issue and not an issue with the game.

I found one of the new combos but I will have to play a bit more to see if I would use it.

Ok this is my biggest issue = the weapon charge levels are not clear at all. One of the most important parts of using CB is charging your weapon based on the amount of damage dealt. This causes your sword to glow yellow then red indicating the amount of charge. Despite having my weapon drawn it was not clear to me at all compared to it in 4U and Gen. I ended up using the HUD to determine what color I was on. It doesn't help that your tracker bug glows neon green and totally blocks your yellow/red glowing phials.

Is the demo CB… Rathian? It looks just like the Rathian CB...

Hunting Horn

Holy crap HH got buffed again! And it is freakin awesome.

New system for playing songs and encores is great. One of the issues of HH is losing songs while you are attacking. By saving up to 3 songs at a time I was able to be more aggressive and get my buffs at the same time.

The HUD helps so much. You don't have to memorize songs any more since they appear very nicely on the HUD. Its non intrusive and easier to understand than before. Does it make using HH easier? Not really, since playing the songs is a bit different than before, mostly because of the fact that songs are saved for your convenience now.

Weapon feels great, like a fluid long hammer. It's bigger than I remember…

Is the demo HH… Nergigante? The spikes make me feel like it is… but then again this is early game? Also it doesn't sound nice (boo why not give us a nicer sounding one Capcom?)

If you have ever considered using HH, definitely give it a shot for World, it's much better (though the buffs it got in Gen are nice too)

Customization

Its nice. Go drool over a customization video. Also cats are adorbs and I want them all.

Final Thoughts

The Good

Controls are nice and fluid. It's nice to play on a big screen with a very nice controller. PS4 controller is one of the best in my opinion (next to gamecube and switch pro)

Map is very smooth, no lag with transitions. Runs very nicely, even though we are using a basic ps4 not the pro.

Horn got buffs and its awesome. Probably gonna be my main over CB for this game. My muscle memory from the 3ds makes it hard for me to play CB now.

Environments and monster design are nice. I know people were complaining about washed out colors but its not as bad as you think. Vibrant colors would look very out of place in this game. Monsters still have some vibrancy, but the key here is textures. The textures are nice, like I can see each individual scale for Jagras and everything.

Access to item customization for the demo is great. Getting to see other armors is a nice touch.

The Bad

Those tracker bugs will really take some getting used to. While tracking is a really cool and immersive feature, the bugs make me ignore everything around me and focus only on tracking. When the bugs decide to not follow tracks I get annoyed and frustrated. I get that they pull you aside to look around, but they also do the opposite. You get no control over them unfortunately. They just go anywhere.

Because areas are connected it's not obvious that you are in a new area. This is both good and bad. Good because everything is seamless, bad because I had to backtrack several times because I went around by accident. Area differences are not obvious so its hard to tell if you are in a new area or not.

Only 20 mins? I know demos make the monsters weaker but I found myself needing more time for Ajanath because it was so hard to track it (look at tracker bug issue above)

Auto sheathing when monster is gone. Please give us the option to remove. As a CB and HH user it is critical that I know when my weapon is sheathed or not. Auto sheathing messes up my combos.

Overall I liked it. It's been a dramatic past few years for the MH team, considering that Generations was also a huge change in the traditional formula of Monster Hunter and Stories is a complete RPG spin off. Whether or not all of these changes should stay in the series is questionable. Tracking needs to be improved in my opinion. They dictate a bit too much for my liking, even changing my camera angles when I didn't want them to. Despite this, the game is awesome. It still feels like Monster Hunter while also pulling the series into a new direction that it really needs. It's still the Monster Hunter we know and love with changes that add fluidity to the normally clunky gameplay. It's not Dark Souls and it's definitely not Bloodborne, but fans of those may like this new more fluid MH.

Am I going to get it? Absolutely, if I actually had a system to play it on. Unfortunately I am a Nintendo fan and unless Capcom releases World for the Switch or it is still popular by the time I get a new PC, I am not going to be able to play. 2-21-19 Updates!

Yeesh, its been a bit since I’ve been around. About 3-ish months, I think? Luckily though, I’ve brought at least some notable updates in that time frame. See below the cut if ya wanna see them. Figured It be cleaner to try out a ‘keep reading’ cut as to keep from too many long posts.

Updated: -Finished TAZ: Balance... beautiful ending, sad, but a wonderful end to a wonderful arc. Going to try to find and listen to the special episodes next before going to the next arc from those good McElroy bois. -Fixed this blog here’s theme a bit with some maintenance. Nothing much, just a quick tweak to the title post color, a few tiny bits in the “About Me?“ and the “My Shit?“ pages. -Current weight seems to have dropped by 5 lbs, which, is the opposite of what I was going for. As long as I keep reminding myself to eat and not lose another 6 lbs, then I should be all fine n’ dandy. -Kinda confirmed arthritis in right hand. -Finally got engaged to my love of six years! (Just in case of the need to clarify, them and I were dating for 6 yrs, not them being 6 yrs old. That’d be a huge no-no.) -Been taking more care of myself lately even if last year’s December and the first majority of this month has been kinda rough, I’m still kicking and pushing through. -Finally made the announcement on the old tumblr that I moved over to here. -The one ‘secret project’ has had a better name change. Second one already since the first naming. Not going to say much else other than that for now. ;) In-Progress: -Finally doing some much-needed updates to the Instagram. Twitter might be next if things here aren’t set up all the way quite yet. -Stiiillll working on drivers license. Can finally go to 25 mph without freaking out and I’ve started to get good with sharp turns, with and without some ice on said turn. Still need to keep working on where the fuck the lines are as well as wider turns. All driving has been in a mostly empty parking lot so far, rest assured to anyone worrying about that. -Following all the blogs that I used to follow on the old blog. -Exercising so that I can try to beef up my pale-ass noodle arms for a specific job I’m trying to see if I can get into this year. If I can’t this year, then I’ll try again next year. In the mean time if I can’ t this time around, I’m hoping to be a part-time librarian clerk. (Fun-fact: I apparent can’t say ‘Clerk’ without accidently saying ‘Cleric’ half the time. Apparently I’ve been around DnD for too long.) -Aaaalll the other art and animation WIPs. Got a few finally done though from the last list. -Work on better list management skills. -Get back to doing research and storyboarding for the ‘Secret project’. -Get back to work on the wiki website sometime. -Continue cataloguing DnDTale related stuff such as canon tales, legends, and the noncon side stuff. -Figuring out what are the possible causes for all the periods of lack of interest, motivation, focus and the various combinations of such as to find a better self-care solution? Come-on brain, I got shit to do and things to get done. Kinda behind in the ‘arting’ department. -Slowly cleaning out and reorganizing my room. Hope to have enough stuff to either donate or hold a yard sale for the stuff I’d like to get rid of. Trying to get rid of stuff I haven’t needed in 4+ years as well as to lighten the load for when I finally move with my hubby. Other: -Been in a homestuck and zombie apocalypse mood lately??? Good for development and research on that stuff I guess? -Been looking more into the rpg maker terminology and coding. Still a lot to learn about that stuff. -Workload and world map of DnDTale continents was/is kinda big with everything going in, however it may, in theory, may seem to be about as big as the map in Pokemon: HeartGold/SoulSilver in comparison to the three-way love child of Super Mario galaxy, Skyrim, and TLOZ: Breath of the wild that is estimated for the ‘Secret project’. Just for an estimation world map/workload size comparison visual so far. -When I say ‘Secret Project’, that’s not the project’s actual name. Just a kinda-censored placeholder name for now till it’s much more developed. -Kinda started to look into the html coding for tumblr pages and set ups. Not much has been looked into so far, but the possibilities are there. -Debation has been made for other plans for blog and site set ups. -I hope to start working on and posting HIP stuff moreso around the end of march, beginning on April like how it was started last year before it kinda fizzled with how busy life is getting to be. -Some side-comic storyboarding has been done for two things regarding the ‘secret project’. Storyboard might continue for DnDTale once I find where that paper went again??? The calculator didn’t eat it this time again.
