Okay, I promised a writeup of Luo Binghe voter fraud meme, and as Luo Binghe is currently in the finals of the poll this happened on, I figure now's a good time.

So! It all started when Luo Binghe, our beloved half-demon child, was submitted to @/hybrid-battle tournament - or rather, as it was called at the time, @half-being-battle. He won his first poll easily enough, but round 2 was a close battle where he and his opponent, Shantae from eponymous game, took the lead from one another a few times.

In the last ~12 hours, Binghe was losing slightly after a popular blog rb'd the poll with a call to vote for Shantae. However, SVSSS fandom caught this in time and passed the poll around some more. The poll ended with Luo Binghe winning with 51% of votes - or, as simple calculation will reveal, 14 votes lead.

We breathed out a collective sigh of relief, but too soon - as half a day later, someone sent this ask:

Initially the pollrunner wasn't intending to do anything about it, but then someone suggested a teamup option, and the poll for the option was made (x). It was rb'd by some SVSSS fans with the general sentiment of 'free our boy he did nothing wrong', but didn't gain real traction until:

@gaywarcriminals reblogged it with a small rant in Binghe's defense

@piosplayhouse rb'd said rant with addition of the image from vol.3 cover, of Shen Qingqiu holding Luo Binghe's hand, edited to look like SQQ is the one saying the text above.

This version of the post was circulated in fandom overnight, leading to 'Luo Binghe moves on alone' option winning by a large margin - and, ofc, to the birth of "Luo Binghe voter fraud" meme.

Though aside from this particular post being funny, there was another factor contributing to the meme catching on: how damn in-character it all was. The following sentiments were all repeated more than once in the post's notes:

Luo Binghe getting accused of crimes he didn't commit? Omg just like in canon!

Shen Yuan would absolutely buy bots to get his most beloved blorbo to win an internet poll.

It's just Luo Binghe's protagonist halo!

All of which made the situation fucking hilarious.

Then, the next day, tumblr user verycharismaticdragon (whoever they might be 😉) made some fanart about it, which possibly aided the spread of the meme too.

Also, SVSSS fandom surprised the mod with our chillness 😅

Since then, Binghe has been going strong in that poll - and now, he's in the finals! So make sure to vote for him; as we all know now, the real voter fraud is the friends we made along the way. And I do recommend checking Luo Binghe's tag on the poll for some fun propaganda we've been making, including a family tree by Pio and some more art by yours truly <3

But wait! There was also another layer to the voter fraud iceberg. The tl;dr:

At about the same time Luo Binghe vs Shantae ended, Hua Cheng was losing in round 1 of @/the-ghost-bracket, with something like 39% of votes to his name. In a desperate move, I linked his poll under my bingqiu voter fraud art, which gave him a boost to get close to a tie, but didnt flip the poll. The next day, I was explaining the LBH voter fraud meme to my friends, and mentioned Hua Cheng's poll too - which was when inspiration struck me, resulting in...

this post. So: LBH voter fraud meme had even helped little bro Huahua out.

And thats about it! Since then, the scum villain fandom has been joking about voter fraud on all of our polls 😂

there's this person who's been my mutual for years, we talk in dms all the time and she's pretty much my favourite online friend rn (or at least, she was). last night she reblogged a post that said "pro-israel is block on sight" and i immediately started hyperventilating because i've already lost multiple mutuals to being antisemitic and i really dont want to lose another one, especially her. i sent her an anon asking if she meant she thinks israel shouldnt exist or if she just hates bibi. and this morning she answered it and said she hates "the prime minister" and the genocide which is. good that she didnt outright say she thinks israel should dissolve, but also if you A) dont even know bibis name, and B) call it genocide, you probably don't know enough about this situation to be talking about it!

im going to keep following her but she's now on pretty thin ice imo. im just so tired of goyim talking about the war when they know nothing about it. someone in my mutual circle has "zionists dni" in their profile and everytime i see someone reblogged from her i just wonder what would they do if they knew im a zionist.

also side-vent: last year i dated a leftist and i was a total asshole and we broke up just before october. im so fucking glad i was an ass now because he's reblogging from h/eritageposts and saying horrible things about jews. i just wonder what he would've said if we dated for a few days longer and i told him that my friend just died in israel. would he have still cheered? i honestly have no idea im just. so tired of all of this.

gosh imagine this is the first time shes seen someone actively abstract... like yeah sure shes seen kaufmo in his abstracted form, but seeing the aftermath/complete transformation is totally different than being there in the moment. i think she would.. be all over the place. i mean youre at your worst and you dont even understand whats going on... and pomni doesnt know what to do or what she can do to ground you. can you even be grounded back to the present moment? can you even back up and regain yourself? is that something someone can do? i think her panic makes you panic, which ends up making your.. situation worse.. i think pomni would try to keep you together as best as she can; physically and mentally. i got the image of the readers face cracking open and the abstraction stuff peeking out and pomni just... trying to push the pieces back together... its a horrible situation, and before long you're fully abstracted and pomni just stands there. im not even sure if she would have the mind to run away, probably too caught up in trying to bring you back to her.. i think sometimes she would stop in front of your old bedroom door and just. stare at the brand new red X over your portrait

unlike pomni, i think he can more easily catch the signs of someone abstracting, though i dont think hes seen someone actually lose themselves right in front of him and transform right there... hmm... but unless you and him are very close i dont think he would bother trying to check in on you. i mean, if youre not, why would he? but... lets say youre both friends, or even partners, and he notices that youve been acting off.. i think it would still take him a little longer than id like to admit for him to actually come to your room to check in on you. perhaps he wants to give you space, or feels youre just going through something and thats your business, or maybe he didnt feel obligated to ask how youre doing as horrible as it sounds (i feel this is more likely if you guys are just friends, though, perhaps not close but still friendly with one another).. gets tipped off that something is wrong when he sees a stray (and glitching) piece of porcelain on the ground... which turns into two pieces, then three. a trail, leading right to your breaking form. i think at first he would think its some joke, before realizing that this is actually happening. unfortunately, i dont think jax is the best comforter so even in your last moments of being conscious and aware would still be spent in fear and confusion.. but at least theres an attempt to try to help you, right? i think jax would actually try to call for help, at least he might be able to admit hes unqualified to help you.. but regardless of if anyone hears him its too late for you.. i like to think he keeps some of your porcelain shards, on the off chance theyre still hanging around even after youre sent to the cellar

had to take a hard break from my yakuza kiwami 2 playthrough

yeah its the kiss scene. blasted me right out of the ride. sayama just lost her father less than 12 hours ago, admits shes emotionally shaky, and the writer decides kiryu should go in for a kiss right there?

in normal situations thats just sexual harassment. and i still dont feel the chemistry bc yk2 kiryu is behaving awfully weird around women in this entry. the things he does and say sometimes crosses into sexual harassment more than once. its so weird.

dude's behaving like he's got depression from losing yumi and nishiki the year before, dealing with significant social awkwardness and just does that. after repeatedly pulling away from girls who are into him in the cabaret social outings. o<-< whats going on.

my current question being, is he unintentionally treating sayama as a rebound bc she resembles yumi physically?

i see the hint of reused tropes with yumi. the same trope of how they're both beautiful. yumi with her gekka bijin and sayama with multiple characters commenting on her beauty multiple times. the age too, matches up with roughly yumi's before kiryu got sent to jail in y1, being mid 20s.

i also cant really accept the age part. kiryu is 39. sayama is 25. sayama is also an overachiever and these types tend to be more naive and inexperienced when it comes to dating and relationships. its a little... hm.... nnmmmmmnmng. hm.

anyway, if he is using sayama as a rebound thats leaning into evil on the ethical heterosexuality scale. not as bad as yumi getting killed -- bc how dare she moved on instead of waiting for kiryu? bad faith interpretation here yes, but a plausible interpretation nevertheless.

this is definitely some kind of weird bad writing and i cant get behind it at all.

i also dont know why they didnt add sayama into minigames and write more banter fluff if she's mean to be the romance interest for kiryu. there's nothing. i can invite majima who happily hops by despite having to juggle 3 VERY big jobs, but i cant invite sayama? we have a little mechanic of increasing haruka's affection by doing her requests but all sayama gets is cutscenes...? really....? at least try...

none of these alone would be a deal breaker necessarily, bc they do actually mesh well on the surface level. there was a few scenes that made me cheer for them. but there's too much when its all added together that it cant save the bad payoff.

there is actually so much going on that im wondering if kiryu's actually into women at all, and in fact, not seeing them all as harukas. 🤔

also now looking back at that bucket list scene in y8: sayama. im sorry. the writers should have given you a life beyond yk2 and allowed you to move on.

the game isnt over yet im sure theres gonna be more Heterosexual Bullshit coming my way. i need a drink.

so one thing with third eye au is i think it works if tim is actively disillusioned by batman failing to save him/his parents

but the current setup is Very Convoluted and involves. way too many players

like, even just in bullet points:

jason survives ethiopia, but comatose

bruce gets WE to start funding medical trials to try to find cure for his injuries

DI gets funding for a potential drug that could theoretically regrow lost/damaged body parts (they found a weird plant on one of their digs), turns out to have Bad Side Effects and a chance of mutating the animals its used on

DI pulls the plug on the research but is trying not to lose the funding

typical gotham researcher is mad his miracle cure got shelved, teams up with unethical DI corporate executive to try and scare the drakes into restarting the trials by having them threatened by masked men.

the threatening attempt goes awry and turns into a hostage situation, then gets worse when the batman is spotted nearby

batman is racing to catch the 'returned joker', who later turns out to be a copycat. (copycat joker was a real storyline that was running at the same time as rite of passage, something i did not know until after i plotted this part of the au)

batman sees police outside a building but continues chasing after the 'joker', thinking "Gordon's men have the situation handled" and the potential joker attack is more time-sensitive.

unfortunately a batman spotting means that, inside the building they've holed up in, the gunmen get jumpy and the drakes get dead.

batman discovers what happened the next day after the whole fake-joker plot is dealt with, and that a teenager boy has been orphaned, and so he immediately blames himself

he detectives and tracks down the disgruntled researcher, who uses a sample of the drug on himself, and Mutates, and they have to do a big comic book fight.

unfortunately bruce is still Not Doing Well (his son is comatose, his other son isnt talking to him, and his dead parent trauma just got triggered) and so didn't realise...

the corrupt executive was the actually dangerous one, as he'd panicked at realising somebody had been digging into the files/asking questions. and lays the blame on the drakes' son tim,

who has in fact been asking questions and digging into files because he does not believe the Official Story of what happened and, after discovering that batman was seen at the scene but didn't intervene, is having himself a little crisis of faith.

corrupt executive decides he has nothing left to lose, hires serial killer/hitman Zsasz to take out tim drake. tim gets lured to abandoned factory under the promise of getting information

The Big Scene Happens, Upon Which The Plot Hinges.

(shiva was following zsasz to see if he would be a worthy opponent, sees tim fight back against him despite zsasz landing a cut to his neck. tim turns on the machinery in the abandoned factory to create noise/distractions, tries to knock zsasz out so he can safely escape. but it turns out hitting somebody on the temple with a wrench. can kill them! shiva picks him up after he passes out from trauma and also the blood loss, drags him to a backalley clinic so she can offer him training after he wakes up.)

meanwhile, batman and the gcpd roll up at the abandoned building to find zsasz dead and tim missing, but with so much of his blood at the crime scene that he is presumed to have been killed.

what happened to tim drake's body? a real mystery for the ages, eventually forgotten by everybody except true crime podcasters and the eternally self-flagellant bruce wayne, (especially after he discovered the drakes were the family who sent dick his last family photo, and thus had a connection to him he didnt realise until after their deaths)

but like i dont know... how to streamline this. or what to replace it with. it's just. it's a lot right? it's a lot going on. (and im still not sure if i gave bruce too many fuckups at once, or if it fits with the "pushing himself too hard and missing things" state he should be in)

“ Rhaenyra you should be resting after your labour !” I feel that is a mixture of genuine concern and passive aggressiveness. But overall concern being genuinely there given she insists Rhaenyra take a seat and feel comfortable.

I have so many thoughts about this scene because yes like??? is alicent being sincere or not?? i feel like she was genuinely shocked that rhaenyra was there at least. she did only send for the baby after all, she didnt expect rhaenyra to bring him. but rhaenyra clearly suspects alicent is being insincere with that comment from her tone when she responds with "i have no doubt you would prefer that, my queen" but that doesnt mean rhaenyras entirely right in her perception of the situation.

imo alicent is quietly seething a little too. that seems obvious from the fact the next time we see her shes ranting at criston about it all. i think in some ways shes so angry, but theres a lot of conflict because shes also still glad rhaenyra and the baby are alright. its not like anyone whos being serious can actually think alicent wants rhaenyra in pain or distress.

its seems possible that alicent sent for the baby to make a point - to signal to rhaenyra that shes paying attention to her children and she Knows what everyone quietly knows. or she was going to use that time alone with viserys and the baby to try to point out the obvious once again. laenor says 'i thought we were past this' meaning alicents scrutiny has been made obvious to them before. i feel like that implies shes used similar passive aggressive ways of getting at rhaenyra for birthing bastards previously. little things viserys can comfortably dismiss or ignore (as is his preference), maybe in the hopes that rhaenyra will get the message and do some damage control or concede her claim (god how i wish they would have just Talked 🤦‍♀️). some people may see her as overreacting but to alicent every dark haired baby is a spark to alicent's boys funeral pyres. why do we think she loses her shit with aegon right after this? shes afraid for him.

so yeah shes genuinely shocked to see rhaenyra. but feeling bitter all the while. glad that rhaenyras alright. but angry with her too.

but also i do feel like the way this moment is framed encourages the audience to think the worst of alicent... again. i feel like they couldnt quite decide to portray her in this scene, among others. so that doesnt help. i think it makes it hard for us to figure out whats supposed to be going on in her head because its like the narrative sometimes doesnt care or know whats actually going on in her head.

(I’m not sure you got this I think I sent it to you) Im so curious to know if the writers are gonna make it seem like Kie had a thing for JJ since season 1 or if they’re gonna make her start catching feelings for him and she realizes the major shift in her feelings towards him and starts to see him in a different light and she’s like oh no I’m falling and it kinda freaks her out because the only thing we got in season 1 was her saying “did you tell JJ” but that honestly could have been taken two ways either she didn’t want JJ to know because she did have a crush on him or she didnt want him thinking she would be easy and kiss him too or about breaking the no pouge on pouge macking or maybe she didn’t want to hurt JJ’s feelings because she rejected him when he tried the locked door and then we got the moment of Kie hugging JJ in the hot tub but that’s honestly what any friend would do in a situation like that so I can see why it can also be taken in a platonic way it wasn’t until season 2 that I started feeling a vibe and shift in Kie’s feelings towards jj when she told Luke do you have any idea how special your son is and then when they were teaming up in the season 2 finale and also having the surf trip convo she realized JJ is a lot like her and wants the same things she wants which is to travel etc and he protected her from getting hit with the machete which led to JJ almost drowning and Kie realized if he died he would have died protecting and trying to save her so that pulled out feelings she didn’t even know were there and she realized she didn’t want to lose him she was so scared so all of that really made it easier to open the first episode of season 3 with Kie starting to look at JJ in a romantic way…

You had sent it! Just haven’t had time to do anything but skim a lot of my anons just yet as I try to catch up with the excitement from the stills + date so if I haven’t answered a lot of anons that’s why! Especially ones like this that I have a lot to say about because they take me a while to write out.

I’m also really curious which angle they go with this. With JJ it literally has to be a thing where he’s just always liked her or else it won’t make any sense. With Kie, they have a little room to make it what they want. I’d also say the only thing I took as for sure hinting at any form of developed romantic feelings in S1 was the “did you tell JJ” and especially her acting and delivery in that scene. I don’t think any other explanation makes sense other than that she’s always at least subconsciously been looking for JJ, but this is outer banks… and more isolated, especially early, scenes like this have a chance of not ever being made to made sense. Unfortunately. And I don’t think Kie knows how much JJ likes her at ALL but I could also see the explanation that they had a confusing moment at some point they both tried to ignore. An almost drunk kiss, etc, and being kissed by JB reminded her of that (and JJ in turn took it as a “well that door is locked”). I don’t think they’ll make that type of thing canon this late but it would make sense.

Overall S1 left kie’s feelings ambiguous enough that it was more easy to say that she could already actively have a thing for him. S2 complicated things a bit more. I wouldn’t say there was any overt added evidence that Kie has always liked JJ, just that they are romantically compatible. I also think they really wanted to be careful and not get the pokie Jiara wires crossed as anything too dramatic or to make it look like Kie knew she didn’t like Pope too early. Their fault for making kie’s decision make no sense in 1x10 because then they had to try to fix that. Anyway, I took what we were presented with in 2x10 especially more as Kie starting to allow herself to view JJ as a legitimate option for the first time. I think most likely they’ll go the route of her not really viewing JJ as someone available as an option to her until now, but personally I’m a fan of the headcanon of their being long time subconscious feelings on her part. She was looking for JJ in a partner without realizing it.

ANON. anon listen to me because i literally had this exaxt same situation with my (now ex) best friend SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL almost two years ago. i also tried and i also accidentally led on and hurt them and they didnt ask me to never speak to them again and actually jsut ignored me all summer instead and likely got all our shared friends (aka most of my friends lol) to do the same so i just didnt bother trying to reconnect once school started again. im also currently on the other end of this kind of as the best friend who took that old best friends place (though we probably wouldve ended up becoming best friends even without that whole mess i hope) broke up with me after a few very good months of dating and a few very bad ones and i asked him not to speak to me for a while but then decided to reconnect with (which judging by the fact that im active on tumblr could be going better).

so yeah now that ive given you my credentials heres what you do you thank him if you havent already and tell him you hope hes doing well and then you put your phone down and go on a walk far far away from it and think about the whole thing. that isnt the best advice because there realyl is no good advice for this situation its one of those things that tears you apart and then points at you and says haha oh YOURE torn apart you say wow what a selfish asshole haha!! but honestly its so clear to me just from this one ask that you care about him so much and im sure he can see that too. if hes texting you he can at least see it a little, and if you would like to do so im sure your friendship is salvagable. the person who put me as the heartbreak emoji in their "people i had feelings for this year" tik tok last december invited me to their house last month and we laughed and joked even though last time i had been there i had been pretending to feel something i could only wish i truly felt. and i dont think theirs an effort more admirable and beautiful than trying to save something like that, than looking the world straight in the eyes and saying "you want me to leave this for dead but i wont because i CARE and that means something." i mean if he wants too of course. which if he sent the text he might thats kind of how i wnet about it when i tried to reconnect too. maybe take this with a grain of salt because im in a highly emotional time in my life but all im going to say is im sorry anon. i know how awful it is to lose a best friend. and im hoping everything goes well for both of you

"It's not the Banu Haqim I have a problem with, usually. The ones I see around Vegas are just fine when they pass through. I have many friends in their ranks. No, no--the one I have a problem with is far, far beyond my equal, unfortunately. I may be an elder, but even with the strength of my blood, I'm no match for a methuselah."

"The creature is known by many names. The Black Shepherd. The Herald of Haqim. The Skinless One. I believe the current followers of his order call him Ur-Shulgi, now."

His eyes are hard and vicious, full of hate when he looks back at you. "He killed my wife. I'd been with that woman for 700 years. We raised my daughter together. He doesn't know about Nox yet, but I'm sure he will. It's why I Embraced her when she asked--I won't repeat the mistake I made with her mother."

*Note: Nox is not related to Ravan or her late mother by blood in VtM! She was a baby they found abandoned after cleaning up a Masquerade violation. The fact that she looks just like the two of them combined just felt like fate.

i low key never thought id be able to get invested in like an action scene that happens entirely with ships in space and no physical conflict and then boom star trek

or in short, i watched the doomsday machine

and im foaming at the mouth what the fuck was that i loved it

first of all, that doomsday machine is a girl to me and i bet she's lonely and tired. her hull looks like it's scarred and battered and i kinda dig it a whole lot.

then we have commodore decker who seems like an asshole but also is clearly deep in the grieving process bc of losing his crew and ship and obviously you immediately draw parallels between him and kirk and wonder if he'll end up in a similar situation. but also obviously you know he won't - not here immediately - because it's 60s tv and you still have more than an entire season left of the same crew. but the tension is still built so well. and the palatable strain when decker assumes command - during that whole conversation between him and spock everyone else on the bridge is just like 💀👀💀 sulu not moving a muscle when decker first tries to command him to attack sent me

also i full on snorted when decker basically told kirk to stop with his fucking theories, because. well BECAUSE. because that man did just decide to theorise about the killer robot that is on its way to destroy their galaxy in front - took like three steps away, okay - of a man who just lost his crew to said robot. like, sure, it might be helpful to know your enemy but the majority of people probably sees it as "good lord what a fucking nerd" especially when its like here, it doesn't gain them much to know that its a doomsday machine. doesn't make it any easier to beat. and then in the end kirk runs to the bridge - after almost dying - and in literally five seconds starts getting all philosophical. like girl. and spock eats it up too, of course he does.

also, this. like okay i admitted to myself i would not be immune to this man a long time ago but still. jesus fucking christ. get your whore eyes out of here.

and then there's also spock repeating "mr.scott" like 4 times when usually he doesn't repeat himself. and no it's not because scotty isn't answering, which - of course he isn't, it's good he isn't, it somewhat annoys me when in these sort of time sensitive situations in movies people take their sweet time to talk as if the seconds aren't ticking. he's repeating it just because <3 he's worried <3 mkway.

also bones really likes to say "im a doctor not a..." doesn't he. fighting the urge to start calling him something like a grumpy kitten but also. should i even bother. he is a grumpy meow meow.

SPEAKING of mccoy. his love language is just insults, he gives his sarcastic remarks on the way spock phrases things but still fully expects him to stay in command and is outraged at decker taking over. which feels to me like an improvement since the ...i dont remember... the shuttlecraft episode. Galileo 7? i think.

anyway. love him.

also something something miracles "you worry about your miracles, scotty, ill worry about mine" "you almost make me believe in miracles, mr.spock". sigh. i think ill be forever thinking about that. as well as the probability bullshit spirk like to pull, jim asking something or stating something and spock giving him full numbers. i cant decide if its cutesey calming each other down jim finding comfort in the reliability or if this is equivalent of foreplay

okay i think im. done. nothing to say about the mobi dick analogy, not really, because 1) i haven't read mobi dick in full so like. maybe point 2 is this way just bc im not familiar with the source 2) its kinda a weak analogy, no? i didnt quite catch it until i scrolled through the wiki, and to me it looked more like in the end there decker was suicidal, not vengeful. i dont think he was thinking much about damaging or not damaging the robot

Where were we? Ah, in the middle of Tenjin's attack. Our team once again split and once again is in the hall. Nevra and Mathieu have just fought kitsunes. Mathieu was spotted by sentry, and the fight broke started, but boys didnt get hurt. Nevra is mad at Mathieu but generously for me he explained what happened next, so I don't have to:

Edgar, poor thing, is panicking, he wants to go back though portal.

no, but he is right. Why they waited till night? Why they leave per pedes, when they have dragon here? I do not believe that even Koori is able to lead them through snow, in darkness. She was a princess, not a scout! They should fly away on Lance's back from the roof of building, anything that would put some distance between them and Tenjin's forces and let them move fast.

And Mathieu- not that empath Erika- is calming Edgar down. He promised Edgar that everything will be fine. I wonder if it will be mentioned, because you know what happens to Edgar. I wonder if Mathieu will ever mention Edgar in ANE after that episode?

They continue. Remember when we were traveling with Chrome to Kappas' land? They reused same backgrounds, switching them every few lines of dialogue to make it seem like we progress with our journey. Wish Beemoov did same here, because reading whole pages of text with same building on a screen is... not exactly exciting. Erika finally thought about the possibility of Tenjin destroying their ship. I was first, O last of the aengels. I WAS FIRST.

too-fucking-bad that those spells are not used on people. or during various missions in TO. Wait, maybe they didn't exist before this ep? Come one, they make up rules on the go when writing the scenario.

So it makes two points for Erika. Still, I WAS FIRST. Erika thinks there is no plan B and they have to succed, and I just. Good people of tumblr. There should be plan C, D and even E. This is an important mission, it could end up catastrophic- breaking all bonds between guard and Genkaku, which, btw, is what happened. HH sent Lance, Nevra, Erika the Saint and Leiftan the Cripple (but it is hush hush), all her strongest men. She kept only Karenn (not strong/good enough to be a Shadow Leader), Jamon and Chrome to protect her people. I will just remind you that we have humans with machine guns walking around Eel. BTW, we are still using same background while game is talking to me about "walking through forests and plateau". Frugal.

Wow, a chance to change my LoM with Leiftan. I have already got 100% with Leiftan, but decided against asking him for help in case it will make him hate me forever. Beemoov taught me well in this case. Erika showed once again that she doesn't know her man: Leiftan would never "freak out" and started screaming at her, or- in this situation- at anybody. He was always portrayed in TO as professional, and he lost his nerve only when facing losing Erika or Erika's love. Erika decides to put on her shield (wasn't it glowing? in the darkness? when there is ambush awaiting for them? without asking her leader if he is ok with it? Go on girl, prove to me that you are indeed the Dumb Sister). Famous last words? here:

And Lance transports them above the peak or whatever it was. In small groups, because. Beemoov, a piece of advice: next game let your artists discuss details with writers because IT MAKES NO SENSE. You draw Lance in his dragon form as huge, majestic creature that could take 6 people without a sweat, and yet it is impossible in your story.

The ambush. Shield worked, btw, but still, me thinks that Erika the Dumbass should have discussed things with Nevra. Oh? Nevra mentions that she should tell him. Point for Nevra.

Is it because of Gardienne's shield (so everyone should be close to it) or did HH told Nevra she has some plans for her and needs her to be alive? (still hoping for villain HH).

As @heyseihai mentioned, the Guard in TO wasn't allowed to intervene if not asked. Sure, it could have changed after Crystal BS, but it would be nice and necessary to mention it. Because it changes whole dynamic between Eldarya lands and Eel Guard.

goddamnit. you have word limits and you waste it on THIS and stappler?

I know, I know. She has done well with shield, it worked, and it is shame that neither Nevra, Lance nor Mathieu thought about asking her to do it. But still, it's Erika, the weakest link in any chain!

BTW suddenly Nevra asks everyone to protect Edgar. Nice, but I still remember him wanting to leave Edgar behind. Probably bad writing, but with smarter plot it would mean that Nevra realized Edgar was a source of informations about present time Earth. Or a snack to send home to mommy dearest.

Edgar is not buying this. Same Edgar, same.

Nevra reminds us why we are here (not to fight, but to get to safety of our ship), and I will stop for a moment: why exactly we are here? What was the point of this mission? To take samples of portal? Well, one Shadow stealthy spy could have done it. Why take Koori? Why they didn't fly on Lance to Orodruina Mountain?

And then Tenjin attacks. Honestly, I do not understand why now and here. Kitsunes should have attacked ouour group during mountains' crossing, grab Koori and run. So far Guardmen didn't break deal with Tenjin (that 24 hours deal), and well, Koori's case should be discussed with HH. If Guard was somewhat competent and strong what he has done should doomed his dynasty and kingdom. Unless the rule of "no intervention unless asked" from TO is still in the air. Then- WOops, HH.

Erika did quite well during fight, Edgar...

BTW... To a person who wrote battle scene: stop. Do not drink and write. You try to make a dramatic build up for Edgar to die, to lull us into false belief that the worst is behind us. But for ffs don't do it like this! These are adult plp, how can I treat Erika seriously when she is bragging about defeating three opponents IN THE MIDDLE OF BATTLEFIELD!!? she got a task of protecting Edgar, and yet she wastes time on screaming to him "not bad huh?". Beemoov, she was suposed to be an adult, not a 14 years old teen.

You know what I like? I like that they made Lance being just very powerful. Able to fight many opponents and survive, but not making him superman. HOWEVER, it clashes with what they said so far in TO and ANE. They made dragons being a god-likes, so him almost losing to turkeys is laughable.

Erika tries to intimidate Tenjin, only to be totally ignored. She could have try to put that shield on Koori and Edgar and cry for help? Could work better? It was a bit sad that Tenjin didn't pay any attention to her trying to be girlboss and everything.

Koori uses her powers in the best way: she trapped Erika in an illusion, caused Mathieu to halucinate and wander aimlessly. It worked on some Tenjin's troupes too but at what cost? What a dumb bitch. They really should have left her in Eel or at least discuss what everyone CAN and SHOULD do during emergency.

^ that's Mathieu's state. He is surrounded by enemies, delirious. Well done, Koori. Anyway, woot woot ANOTHER CHOICE! I screamed for Leiftan's help, Nevra got hurt, Lance saved the Mathieu:

... and wtf. Koori didn't throw away stones. No one will mention it, right? And she will make huge party next episode, like her decision didn't make this fight more difficult, like Edgar didn't die? OH, but Pretty Princesses cannot do wrong in eldarya (unless they are Miiko, they couldn't be that obvious with Miko's self insert).

Anyway, Tenjin was behind u on a battlefield, but suddenly he is in front of us, standing on our the way to a boat. And then he screams to withdraw, no doubts- into the ocean. I cannot imagine topography of this battlefield. But the deed is done- Edgar is dead, killed by Tenhin who suddenly decided to notice our Erika. Could be nice to have a good healer, right? Or someone with shield (well, years of playing cleric in BG have changed me). BTW, Mathieu DID remember about his promise to Edgar:

Erika is shocked. She keep on repeating how she promised Edgar that everything will be fine. See, that could and should give us a moment of awareness that Eldarya is NOT a nice world, and that Erika is NOT an important person here, at least not really. That splendor, her own statue and status of semi-goddess means nothing next to corpse of someone whom she failed. Erika had lead a very save and sheltered life on Earth so this could be a moment when she starts missing her previous life, when no one near her died murdered by psychopath. And either she will mourn her "innocence" or try to get stronger for real. Alas, we wont' get this development. On a boat:

Spoilers: it won't, and what report? All you have are your guesses. You do not have any evidence but samples from one portal. You didn't even manage to bring a witness, who in theory, could have had some infos of what is happening on Earth. You broke and ties with Genkaku, got your leader hurt. You failed on all levels. This mission was a failure.

Also, Beemoov should have made Leiftan fight with weapon only. Nevra would still be mad about him not using powers, but at least that would make sense. FFS, Tenjin almost killed Erika! What was the point of Leiftan going for the mission? How he wanted to protect Erika? He is a warrior, he can fight without his powers! Now, back to horny Erika:

Wait, did I miss something? I always picked lines that were closest to "I want to be with you", why is Erika so surprised? Did they switched writers again in the middle of... first half of season? Did the writer lose their notes? Why is Erika so shocked that man she was in love with, is still dear to her? Theory that Erika got colonized by Crystal, is no longer a "living" creature and thus human emotions are now quite alien to her- intensifies.

The ending and Erika's thoughts about Leiftan are written by someone who knows TO just from summaries: how is Leiftan gentle? Why is MY Gardienne, who was in an intimate relationship with him for months admits to herself that he is, indeed, quite attractive? WHOLE ANE IS WRITTEN SOLELY FOR NEW PLAYERS. For them was an info about Nevra avoiding fighting, prioritizing stealth. For them Erika has now epiphany about her lover being hot, and forgetting that he was a bloody murderer, who semi-faked his friendly persona. (No wonder he is awkwardly looking into ocean, he hears her thoughts after all. )

Yes, that's always the best course when a man dies next to you. I will keep it in mind when I will go back to work.

Hey again, this is the anon who sent in an ask about feeling like people think I'm lying. Thanks so much for your kind answer and for letting me feel less alone. The feeling actually calmed down for a bit in regards to my friend, but now it's back (not because of my friend, but because of a new friend of hers who's started hanging out with us and who gets me really annoyed by his attitude towards me).

Now that the feeling is back, it's worse than before because her new friend actually DOES think I'm lying (I told her he gave off that vibe and she confirmed that he is "suspicious" about some things I say). I'll say things and he'll sarcastically respond with "Yeah, right" or it just seems like he wants to "challenge" every single thing I say (recent example - I was explaining something that happened in my neighborhood, and he started to say things like "Why would you say that people do that?" and "No, that doesn't happen."). Ummm. In his case, since he's not really my friend, just my friend's friend, and this has already happened a lot of times before, I'm thinking of just avoiding situations where he's around, but that also means losing time with my friend, since now he's always with her…

Sorry for sending in another ramble but this is really the only place where I feel validated about this problem. And I just don't know how to "change" my brain. I feel like other people can brush off accusations of lying (and I realize a lot of what I was experiencing before probably wasn't my friend actually thinking I was lying, but just my brain taking it that way due to not liking her questions). But now that we're hanging out with someone who really DOES think I'm lying (and had my friend confirm it, so it's not ALL in my head) it's really ruining my mood. I haven't been able to concentrate on anything, I get really upset, I start worrying that my friend thinks I'm lying again as well, and I have to provide "evidence" for her (like sending her videos or articles explaining the subjects I mentioned as proof so she won't think it's just stuff I'm pulling out of nowhere and that I'm always lying to everyone). It's to the point where I couldn't sleep last night and it actually has me feeling sick. Would it maybe be a good idea to just... kinda avoid my friend for a while? Maybe I need to take a break from socializing with others in general? Or do I maybe have to change the topics I talk about with people (like talking less about myself and my personal experiences so that if I DO get the feeling that someone thinks I'm lying, I don't take it as personally)? Thanks again.

i think its appropraite to set boundries with your friend and explain how you dont feel comfortable hanging out with her friend. thats not a friendship you really signed up for and youre allowed to not hang out with people you dont like hanging out with. hopefully your friend will understand and make time to hang out with just you and not her friend. i dont think you should avoid everyone all together, thats not great for your mental health. i also dont think you should limit what you say or how you express yourself unless its causing harm to someone else.

ive had similar situations to this in my teen years where my friend would get another friend and we would all hang out despite me not liking the other person. and at the time i didnt feel confident enough to set boundries and i wasted so many hours with random people feeling shitty.

i wish you luck in surrounding yourself with people who will understand you. i have many personal stories that seem unreal to people who have never experienced them and arent open minded. but im lucky enough to now have a support group of people who do believe me and are open minded and im very thankful for that.

Rusty Nail Alt #5: Ambushed

Alright, I've only watched two seasons, the ending messed me up and that was back when we didnt really know if we were getting a season 3. So, this is timeline adjacent obviously. 😬 and super short but my brain is barely working ya feel?

Going on missions-real missions- still sent a thrill of excitement through the team, though some hid it better than others. There was just such a difference from the lives they led before, to what they get to do now. Even if they were a little rocky as a team at the start, now it was hard to imagine fighting by anyone else.

Wally loved fighting by his Uncles side, dont get him wrong, but this team, his friends, he couldnt imagine going back. He couldnt imagine a world where he wasnt fighting side by side with these people. Well... he could, but he didnt like to think about that world.

Hes only half listening to the conversation taking place, he'd read through the mission report a million times, and listened to the first speal Kaldur had given, he knew the plan. Wally supposed its a good thing in the long run (ha), as he looks out from the BioShips view screen and reacts faster than anyone else can. He has everyone in their seats and buckled before they can blink, calling out a warning just as he makes it back to his own seat. The impact jars everyone, Wally is thrown, he hopes the others are okay.

"Im losing control! We're going down!"

"Mayday Mayday! This is Young Justice calling for back up and Medical! We are going down!"

"Guns, everything down! Whatd they hit us with!?"

"I dont know, I didnt see, Wally- wheres Wally!?"

"Brace for Impact!"

...

Robin really doesnt know how he keeps surviving things like this. Though hes beginning to think it has something to do with Wally or genetic modification. Hed have to do tests when he got home, but Wally is a common variable about these situations so...

Wally.

He wasn't answering. He wasnt in his seat. He got out of his seat to move everyone else... where...

Where was Wally? Where was everyone? Where was he?

Forcing his eyes open seems to alert his body, as he feels like one giant bruise covered by another bruise. A cloud of dirt is still settling, and his throat is scratchy with it as he coughs. The fact hes no longer in the bioship is concerning to say the least, and as he forces himself to sit up his gut sinks further.

The bioship has reverted to its sphere form and looks worse for wear to his human eyes. He coughs again, clutching his ribs as he scans his surroundings. It takes him a moment too long to realize he's using nightvision mode on his mask, to see the rocks surrounding him in all directions, to realize their crash must have caused a cave in.

A groan interupts his oncoming panic, allowing him to mentally smack himself, as his eyes find two bodies he hadnt seen. Kaldur is slowly sitting up, and M'gann is twitching beside him. Robin forces himself to his feet, stumbles his way over to them and falls to his knees to check them over, and only to check them over its so not because he couldnt stand.

"Robin? What...where are we?" Kaldur coughs and Robin is sure this dust is killing his lungs.

"A cave in. We were ambushed, they hit the Bioship with something."

Mgann is slowly coming too, but having been connected to the BioShip probably took a toll on her. Robin scans the room again, trying to find his other three friends. Kaldurs arms light up enough to cast a soft glow, they cant rely on it, but it does help Robin spot something new. Horror dawns on his face hes sure, as he once again stumbles to his feet and rushes across the space.

Where the entrance caved, arm and some of his torso pinned, is Wally. A small pool of blood has formed below him, shiny in Kaldurs light, and Robin has to force the tremble from his hands. He presses two fingers to Wallys throat, finds a pulse far slower than a speedsters should be, but a sign of life nonetheless.

"Is he..?"

"Alive, but pinned and... he wasnt in his seat when we were hit, he needs medical."

"The puddle isnt growing very fast, I assume the rocks are putting pressure on his wounds. To move him could be fatal, however if the pile shifts..."

"He'd be crushed. Could lose his arm or... worse." Robin finishes. "I have some first aid supplies, we should get him out. Hopefully our distress signal went out..."

"I can help, keep the pile steady while you guys get him out." M'ganns voice has a strain to it, but shes standing on her own and determination shines in her eyes.

Robin steeles himself, carefully grabbing hold of Wally as Kaldur grips the large chunk of mountain, Mgann raises her hands, and as one they move. As soon as the rock is up, Robin pulls Wally out of the way. They all hold their breath as Kaldur drops his rock and Mgann keeps the trembling wall steady.

While they need a way out, theyre still missing two team mates and that wall could kill them all if it falls wrong. There focus right now is keeping Wally alive until a new plan can form. So Robin makes quick work of cleaning- as best he can- and binding the bleeding wounds on his best friend. There isnt much he can do about his broken ribs, just glad they arent puncturing anything, hes in rough shape and thats just from what Robin can see. They work together to get to the side of the cave, Mgann tells them the Biship is unresponsive, and that Konner and Artemis arent answering yet.

They hold onto the yet. Because they will answer eventually.

Everyone else is out of range. But she keeps a look out for familiar minds. They just have to wait for now.

...

Wally hurts all over. He hasn't hurt like this in a while, wonders idily what he did to anger...

No that... that wasnt right.

He was... on a... Mission!

With... not Uncle Barry... not Uncle Hal...

Was it a callaboration with the Bats? Or Speedy?

No he doesnt go by Speedy any more.

Oh!

He was on a mission with the team!

And they were ambushed in the sky, they got hit by something and... oh gods, he needed to check on the team! There was a cave in, they could be hurt!

A groan escapes the gingers lips, as his body refuses to comply with his need to get up.

"Dont move Wally, youre hurt!" M'ganns worried voice reaches his ears and rings inside his head, though he doesnt know which one he actually gets.

"We've got you Walls." Robins voice comes from above him, his pillow then.

"Just rest my friend." And Kaldur, alright so theyre all more or less okay good...

He still peels his eyes open, met with mostly darkness and darker dark blobs, his friends he assumes. His mouth feels and tastes like a desert, but he forces his vocal cords to work,

"Cave in... pushed Arty... and Kon..."

"Of course you did. You've been quite the hero today Wally. Im sure rescue will be here soon, you did good."

"You...all ok?"

"Yeah, little banged up, but we'll be fine bud."

If they dont die from lack of everything. Great, this would be quite the way to die.

"We'll get out of here Wally, dont worry." M'gann is gentle as she take his hand, the one not tingling on the edge of numbness.

He gives it a light squeeze and silence falls again. Hes almost dozed off again when Mgann gasps, and her voice fills their heads.

"Artemis, Konner! Are you guys okay?"

"I think we're in one piece. You guys? Baywatch pushed us out of the way, is he.."

"Im here Arty."

"And we're fine my friends. Do you perhaps have an escape on your side?"

"No, looks like our crash and whoever our unexpected company was, sealed us in."

"The league should be able to see the disturbance in the mountain though." Konner adds.

"Alright, I guess we're back to hanging tight."

...

Light flashes behind closed eyelids.

Fingers twitch as raspy barely there breaths fill the once silence.

Rocks moving, Dust billowing, voices echoing around them with no desernable words.

Warmth to numb limbs, water to dry lips, air to shriveled lungs. Pressure to weeping wounds.

Hands in hands, refusing to let go.

Safe.

Mad science-Fujiko again, sorry it took awhile to answer

Just thinking about Fujiko’s emotional reaction, she’s schocked she didnt see the betrayal coming of course, but its more that she feels stupid, than personally hurt. (I think to her, its like missing the obvious signs of a storm when she’s normally good at reading the weather)

Whats far worse is the feeling of helplessness and the realization her efforts have been for nothing. She tried to keep her friends safe and instead she’s probably got them killed. She’s about to lose everything.

Also thinking on how she might go about convincing Jigen when insisting she was betrayed too doesnt work. Explaining herself? Telling him that she fucked up because she was afraid and desperate, because she couldnt stop thinking about what would happen if she lost her friends?

No way, Jigen wouldnt believe it in a million years.

She can try to give him all the information she has on the person who’s actually behind the disaster and the experiments they worked on, but he’s not gonna believe her until he sees she’s told him something true, perhaps something about the new zombies or mutants theyre fighting.

But yeah that would be how I would think it would go.

A key word to describe Fujiko to me would be duplicitous. No one really knows what or more specifically WHO’s side she is on, and when asked by people if she could be considered trustworthy Jigen would probably admit that it‘s "not an easy question to answer." Thought we have all seen that Fujiko can be trusted to repay her debts to people who help her, she has betrayed more then aided enough for her to be greatly considered untrustworthy, especially by people who take the trust of people very seriously, like Jigen.

To be honest, I think the reason why THIS particular “betrayal” would hit so hard for Jigen especially is because of the situation they are all in.

The world has basically ended. No one, besides those who know the contents of the USB, knows where the infection has started, but at this rate, it really doesn’t matter. The undead have been spotted in nearly every major city from New York to Texas all the way to California and that’s just in the US alone. Across the ocean outbreaks in major countries like Europe, Britain, France, Germany and China are all commonplace. Certain places may have dealt with the undead and have found a way to deal and aid other places in order to help their recovery, but others are still struggling like in the US.

This is far bigger and far worser then anything the gang has had to deal with. This isn’t some rival gang trying to move in on a score. This isn’t running from the Cops. This is the big deal. And yet to Jigen it’s seems despite that all that, despite everything trying to kill them already, Fujiko still couldn’t seem to help herself by betraying the group ONCE again. Regardless of her motives or not.

And what’s sad is Jigen would have given her a chance again. He would have believed her when she said she didn’t know. But the problem now is that he’s not thinking straight. He see’s this as another betrayal. Plain and simple, no surgery coating can change what this is. But now because of Fujiko, one of the few people he himself has left in this crazy world where everyone is trying to EAT them, is dying.

Jigen knows if he loose’s Lupin that he is going to absolutely loose it. He had little to hold on already before the world went crazy. Not to mention he had already been struggling with feeling like a failure following the death of his niece the beginning of the outbreak. Now if Lupin dies that’s the last straw, it will kill him. Because Jigen’s not like his sister, he struggles connecting with new people. Maddalena doesn’t, she’s built a community around herself to deal with the changes the world has given them and the loss of her daughter, she has made friends.

Jigen can’t just make new friends like his sister does. It’s not who he is. He already struggles with the one’s he has. Plus his trust issues actively just refuse to let him get close to other people, especially new people. Constantly scrutinizing every motive like it’s a farce or a soon to be attempt on his life.

Lupin is basically the only thing he has left in this crazy world that he can trust. That he can love. And even if she didn’t mean it, there’s a big chance Fujiko just took that all away.

The ONLY THING keeping him from putting a bullet in her head IS Lupin. As long as Lupin is alive, he can’t kill her. Because the one thing Jigen tries not to do is break promises. He already broke the promise to his sister that he would keep her kids safe.

He failed.

It almost killed him

He won’t break this promise to Lupin, not as long as Lupin still breathes.

But time is not on Fuji’s side with this one. . .Even if it turns out she was telling SOME truth, the fact of the matter is, Jigen isn’t gonna want anything to do with her if Lupin doesn’t make it, he already hates that he has enough of a conscious not to throw her out of the QZ to fend for herself, if he had his way he’d have thrown her out on her ass. But nope. . .he knows he can’t do that..

Thor (2011) edit that we deserve:

Midgardian scenes in the style of a whacky romcom

Asgard scenes in the style of a political drama (that actually has lighting so that we can see shit)

I feel as if it would enhance the experience.

Thor wears a pink tshirt at least once and Jane gives him a hairclip that survives his magical girl transformation. btw that is an actual magical girl transformations scene w like the colours and glitters and stuff and his armour changes to reflect his new ethics and values, but still keeps the asgardian style and colourscheme through, except for thors hairclip.

Thors new lightning is 50% brighter 50% more sparkly

Asgard has several instances of workers gossip stopping when Loki is percived.

Lokis costume gets progresively more opressive on the neck area to show how he is axfixiating more and more as the movie goes on. From the valut scene onwards he wears mid-forearm lenght gloves that catch the viewers eye bc THEY DONT MATCH THE OUTFIT. They have stark color that brings attention to them, i havent decided if they are bright emerald green w golden odin-based motif (crows, his spear, something like that) or a pair of golden ones w a green snowflake detail that we see odin wear and take off at some point.

We see frigga actively choosing to do nothing about the situation. She kind of does nothing in the og movie, but i want that to be clear.

The w4 do some snooping before going full on treason. Ask around, get the general workers vibe, u know the drill. They maybe even go to the archives 👀. The thing that gets them to tip over is that Heimdal is there researching seidr in the vault. He tells them he didnt see Loki entering the vault, but when Odin collapsed he was there.

They first brush it off but then go to see Loki to free Thor bc it has Been Known™ that Odin is in odinsleep and he is to take charge. Loki, of course refuses and the scene takes the same route as the og, Loki pulling rank on them.

W4 dont believe it. They get to the door of Odins chambers in the healing wing but they get told off bc they dont have the rank to do that. They get pissed.

They plan the treason.

Loki goes to his advisors and they dont believe/want to cooperate w him. He gets most of his war-preventing stratergies shut down on the basis that they are "childish" and he "doesnt know what he is doing". Loki ends up having to go and tell Heimdal to block off the bifrost himself. He is also shown to lose sleep trying to start off the war preparatives. He gets stopped again and again on the basis of... Well... Being Loki. His advisors/generals dont act unless given a direct order. Morale is low bc nobody wants a king constantly pulling rank on them.

He even overhears the rummor that he killed Odin to steal the throne and that is the last straw.

Thor has essentially the same beats and stuff except for the turning point is not him failing at taking his hammer back, but actually giving the chance to try it up for rescuing Janes notebook. He also learns a skill while on earth. To show his progress beyond war. Probably some diy sort of situation. The Loki scene takes place while he is hammering some nails and he gets spooked and hits himself, Loki comments on his weakness.

The destroyer is sent to kill the w4 (it is implied that loki tried to send soldiers but they refused). Thor regains his powers bc he protects some randos that would b caught in the crossfire, bc the destroyer is not even accounting for humans nd neither are w4.

Darcy expresses her approval for the destroyers phisical form (something to the likes of "he can destroy me iykwim")

Frigga is shown to have the ability to kill Laufey but choses not to. Some random healers in the room manage to fucking get the jotuns ass handled to them. Loki maims Laufey, but keeps him alive to show his army how good of a soldier is. Bifrost is set to destroy Jotunheim and Laufey is forced to watch.

Bifrost fight goes as always, the preppy upbeat motifs of the romcom get mixed in w the dramatic of the asgardian plotline. The only difference is that the destroyer is still being kept on bay by the w4 at the same time.

When the bridge colapses we see one of Lokis gloves get lost in the depths of space dramatically.

The destroyer gets destroyed... By Jane taking Darcys taser and electrocuting that bad boi. It explodes.

Back on asgard they sre celebrating after the funeral. Thor gets pissed off bc why are they celebrating his brothers death?

Thor goes to the dungeons and we see that Laufey has mostly recovered from his injuries. He tells Thor the story of how Odin kidnapped his son for diplomacy reasons. Thor does not believe him much, but still comes down to visit bc it seems as if he is the only other person apart from him that is actually mourning Loki. This is, of course, setup for The Dark World when Loki and Laufey are in neighbouring cells.

Odin is not celebrating either. He is caressing the other glove that Loki left behind. He tells Thor his version of the Loki """""""""adoption""""""""". Thor does not believe his version either, and he finds himself bothered by this fact.

W4 are to be retrieved whenever the bifrost is fixed (thor is helping w his newfound diy skills).

Back on earth, we see that w4 and the midgard team are working/living together in some sort of hybrid of frienship and determination, the motifs of the midgard plotline and the asgard one are in harmony.

The post credit scene is Darcy having a shrine made for the Destroyer. A bunch of bolts, some pics etc. In the center there it is.

The destroyers butt survived the explosion.
