i keep seeing posts like this in defense of israel's actions, and it's such a gross misrepresentation of the fight for palestinian liberation.
the problem has never been that israelis are moving into palestine, the problem is the systematic erasure and denial of palestinian culture. immigration does not equal colonization, and you can live somewhere peacefully without forcing the current inhabitants off their land. destroying records and education systems is not an act of self-defense. blocking aid from entering a humanitarian crisis site is not an act of self-defense. targeting journalists, children, and healthcare workers is not an act of self-defense. this argument is tired and you're not doing shit by fighting a straw man.
october 7 was a tragedy, but it didn't start there- the conflict (read: genocide) has been going on for over 70 years. it was not an unprovoked attack and the actions of hamas do not excuse the genocide of an entire people.

Hundreds of Jews and allies... took over NBC’s famed 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters in NYC to disrupt [Joe Biden's] appearance on [Late Night with Seth Meyers] and make it clear that supporters of genocide are not welcome in our city. 50 protesters were arrested.
President Biden’s deadly foreign policy has expedited weapons sales to Israel, ignored the World Court’s determination that Israel is committing genocide, suspended funding to UNRWA, and vetoed three UN ceasefire resolutions.
The growing public consensus on the need to prevent further loss of life in Gaza as the death toll eclipses 30,000 cannot be denied. Yet President Biden has still pledged an additional $14.1 billion in military funding to Israel.
The President needs to start answering to the American people – not the far-Right Israeli government indiscriminately bombing the people of Gaza, destroying 70% of infrastructure, including hospitals, universities and the electricity and water grids.
You know how I know that the anti-Israel hate is deeply rooted in antisemitism, and not just "social justice" or whatever people are calling it right now?
Let me tell you a common situation I encounter:
So, being a college student away from home, I don't have a car here. This means that if I ever need to go anywhere, I need to get an Uber or Lyft or something along those lines.
I always tuck in my Bring Them Home tag, magen david, turn my "am Yisrael chai" pin to the inside of my clothes, etc. I hate doing it, but I have heard of violently antisemitic drivers, and I'd rather not risk it, considering I'm alone in the car with them.
Every time, I call my mom. It makes me safer to have someone on call. And every time, she makes the same two recommendations.
The first is to put in an address of a neighboring house for pickup, because the house I live in has my landlord's car out front, and his car has stickers in Hebrew on it.
The second is, if asked where I'm from, to say Russia. I don't get asked where I'm "really from" unless I'm with my parents usually (they both have strong accents). But it's a warning my mom repeats every time anyway. The choice of Russia isn't random, I was raised fluent and can back up the claim if need be with random knowledge. But I have never been to Russia, except for the airport once to catch a connecting flight to Israel. I was, however, born in Israel, and I've been there multiple times (unfortunately not since 2014 though). So to say I'm from Russia is a lie, and to say I'm from Israel is the truth.
Both are countries at war. Russia, unlike Israel, actually started the war. Unlike Israel, Russia actually does have a history of colonialism, genocide, imperialism, and worse.
So why is it safer for me to lie about being from an aggressor country than to tell the truth about being from a country caught in a war it didn't want?
Antisemitism. Anti-Russian hate crimes globally didn't spike, Russian women haven't been raped as "justice" for Ukraine. Russian businesses weren't commonly vandalized simply for being from Russia. Meanwhile, all of these things were done to Jews as a result of a war Israel did not start.
If this global response to the war wasn't antisemitism it would be equally safe or unsafe for me to give either answer.
But in reality, it's safer for me to lie about being from Russia than to tell the truth about being from Israel.
Whatever the outcome of this war may be, I want the world to know one thing:
I will never see Hamas as anything other than freedom fighters, Israel as anything other than a colony, and Zionists as anything other than the filth of the earth.
So, a big name account here that talks about mysticism and has definitely made money on discussions of Jewish mysticism (they have a seemingly well-funded Patreon, among other things) has now said "No Zionists on my page" without actually, you know, specifying what they think a Zionist is.
I dunno, but isn't that pretty textbook cultural appropriation? I'm sure they'd say that Good anti-Zionist Jews are welcome, but that's the minority, and once people start putting up these lines, how long before any Jew is suspect?
We all know the answer.
Anyway, I hope that fellow Jews who have supported this user stop doing so now.
Zionists want you to conflate Judaism and Zionism. Zionists want you to believe that Judaism cannot exist without Zionism and that all Jews are Zionists. Zionism would have Jews believe that a Jewish state is the only way that they can be safe from antisemitism and will point to any instance of antisemitism as proof that Zionism is the solution- so Zionism wants gentiles to be antisemitic in their support of Palestine. They want you to conflate all Jews with Zionism and the state of Israel, and they want you to treat all Jews regardless of political affiliation as the face of Israel. Antizionist Jews exist, and incidences of antisemitism ostensibly acting against Zionism will not help dismantle the forces propping Zionism up.
It’s easy really. Other than having a soul, it’s because when the Nazis had our people in ghettos, when we were sent to death camps, when we asked for help and nobody listened. We know what it’s like to be begging for someone to listen. Because we know what the pain of loss, of starvation, of losing your home, of being mocked and dehumanised and othered feels like. Because we know that no life is above anothers.
I don't think I can say this with enough emphasis--if you are not Jewish, you don't get to decide what is and is not antisemitic.
There's no ambiguity here. Zero. I am sick and tired of being lectured at by goyim about how, 'oh, ackhtually, your explanation of how my words are antisemitic is off! You're trying to stop the discussion by being inflammatory!'
Or to be told that I am cheapening the term antisemitism, and that people used to react to it before October 7th, but now they're numb to it, which is just what happens you start using serious accusations for political means!
It's... genuinely astonishing to me. I'm consistently amazed by the arrogance, audacity, and disrespect it takes for you guys to lecture Jews on what antisemitism is.
Have any of you goyim experienced antisemitism firsthand? Is it your people who's experienced antisemitism for 3000 years? Is it you who has family members rescued by Schindler? Was it your ancestors who fled from constant, unending pogroms in with nothing but the clothes on their backs? Have you ever had someone tell lies to your friend about you sexually harassing people because you're a Jew? Have you ever had to sit and think whether you should mark down that you're Jewish on a job application? Have you ever felt unsafe and compelled to take off your Star of David because you've been afraid you'd be attacked? Have you ever had to worry about a professor who constantly brings up the war in class marking your assignment down because it talks about Israel being a democracy? Have you ever had the feeling of acid being splashed on your soul when you see antisemitic comments? The ice water rushing down your spine when someone is antisemitic to your face, and you feel the weight of 3 millennia of oppression bearing down on you?
No? Not you?
Then sit your ass down, and frankly, shut the fuck up.
any antizionist jews of tumblr know if there are any prayers that would be appropriate to say for palestinian liberation? mi shebairach and mourners kaddish i think would be suitable for martyrs and all sick or injured but like are there any others? im not really connected to my community and google just gives me zionist sources i don't really know where else to ask
