and you will listen to my halfway unmixed vocal synth covers. you will. my final message (dies in your arms)
all the virvox guys in voicevox humming! yume no tobira piano ver vsqx by leah ocarina and the instrumental is by 友紀!
#wip#vocal synth#voicevox humming#i will never stop posting unfinished covers!!!! never!!!!!#hfkjdjgskfdsd in my defense its because i get like 90% done a cover pretty fast#and then that last 10% takes me MONTHS HDJFKSJFS#and i have a feeling im gonna be messing around with these dynamics for. a while LOL#so listen to how it is now~ its not bad for someone who doesnt know what they're doing <3#i think some love live songs might be particularly good for voicevox humming like specifically the more 00s idol-y sounding ones#like some earlyish u's ones and such. because like theyre great and fun songs but theyre also#like less focused on super fancy voicework and more focused on like. charm. probably because they werent sure if it the#franchise was even gonna take off that much at the time and they were working with limited budgets and just kinda#figuring it all out? obvs there was so much talent front the get go. but in different areas#dance comedy acting singing pr etc. some vocalists had a lot of experience and some didnt have as much#so theres like this like. charmingly clumsy edge to some of the songs. less worry about pure vocal talent#and more focus on sounding like ur a cute anime character having the time of ur life LOL#in general thats been a big focus of the sound of the franchise -> sounding like ur having fun and#filled with passion above all else. which is why i think these songs might work for these guys pretty well!#(although u can definitely hear the noise. and how much these guys HATE su zu and tsu HJKSHJDS they're doing their best)#my beloved off-key makeshift boyband LOL you have to be nice to them. they're speaking synths pretending to be singing synths <3#dont ask how the lyrics about youth (seishun) pertain to the 50 year old man. its okay. dont bother him#also no tuning credits cuz. u cant tune in voicevox. so its all just the program LOL i thought about doing pitch correction#in fruity loops or smthng but i am le tired so i didnt <3 its part of the charm i say now. its the charm#i did go in and mess with the vsqx to change the timing and lengths of different syllables five separate times tho LOL#but thats because there are 5 dudes and i did Not want them to sound TOO much like theyre playing back the same midi 5 whole times#even tho thats what they are doing. you know how it is with this stuff HJKSHJKFDS

people bitching and moaning about fob "turning mainstream" as if that was never the entire point of fall out boy. that's In the goddamn dna of the band, it's baked into the ethos of why the band started in the first damn place. to be accessible to kids and especially to girls, who were often ridiculed and shunted out of the hardcore community. to be a gateway to bands that aren't as mainstream. to comment on the society they live in, as they live in it. people act like fall out boy "turning mainstream" was some kind of "betrayal" when from the start they were seizing on the trends of the time, putting their unique, unhinged fall out boy spin on them, and shooting them back out as a funhouse mirror. take this to your grave capitalized on the pop-punk zeitgeist that was big in the late 90s and early aughts and put their own spin on it: enmeshed catchy choruses with high-dexterity lyrical & linguistic skewerwork. infinity on high was basically a massive critique of the scene they were in - this ain't a scene it's a goddamn arm's race is a fucking thesis statement on what it is to be catapulted into fame in an industry that wants nothing more than a thousand cookie-cutter copycat acts of a successful formula, and fall out boy WAS the formula everyone desperately wanted to emulate. american beauty / american psycho blended sampling and modern hip-hop stylings with polished pop-rock and pointed those songs back at the snapshot of the 2010s we all lived in: commenting on racial injustice and the freeze-frame nature of relevancy. but even then they weren't doing it quite right - because fall out boy never does things quite right, they're never quite conventional, whether it's wentz's darkly confessional lyrics double-bagged in metaphor or stump's distinctive clear tenor or trohman's inescapable rock 'n roll edge or hurley's thunderous hardcore-punk-rock soul.
this band has always been too clever for its own critics, is the thing. but then, they always knew that. they knew they had a thriving fanbase of largely female fans so they were going to be mocked and belittled and ridiculed. they weren't quite right. they weren't quite so easy to market. pete wentz had to have all his hard edges filed off and cut down to size, skin lightened, literally whitewashed ("i feel like a photo that's been overexposed") to hell and back, even as he was marketed as the pretty boy of the band. and the other three members never even bothered with the spotlight: the soft-spoken vegan straightedge anarchist drummer and the wry, wisecracking, whip-clever guitarist who was more concerned with being the connective tissue than anything and the reticent vocalist who sang the words and wrote an awful lot of music but wasn't really the guy fronting the band. wentz's charisma carried the band, because the rest of them were really just some guys and never aspired to be anything else.
fall out boy is too pop. fall out boy is too mainstream. fall out boy isn't the real poster child of the emo movement. other bands are better. even within fall out boy's own narrative, they are repeatedly ignored, sidelined, and belittled, as though they weren't one of the only acts from the big 00s emo-pop movement to successfully not just survive the transition from the aughts to the '10s, and then later from the '10s to the '20s, but to thrive in it without banking on nostalgia. this band was supposed to be a flash in the pan. they weren't supposed to last and they weren't supposed to get big. they started off in joe's parents' attic because joe and pete were sick of how exclusionary and homophobic the hardcore scene was.
i think it's high time that people acknowledge how fall out boy has repeatedly succeeded where most of their other peers failed. cunning, clever, capable, and hyper-aware of the space they occupy in the culture surrounding them. that they are just as powerful, important, and artistic as any of the other bands in the scene that others might deify at their expense. that they deserve a hell of a lot more respect than they get from critics or hardcore punks who think they sold out. i hope one day they get that recognition. because they've earned it, time and time again, and the more i see people pushing back against that, the more certain i become of its inevitability.

I mean, I do think it’s genuine progress that kids these days read ‘go out with me and I’ll never hurt your friend again’ and recognise a red flag for *potential* toxicity and are therefore a bit sceptical of canon Jily, but I don’t believe for a minute that it was JKR’s intentions writing James and Lily in 2003 as a couple of teens from the mid 70s to convey that impression (though this is somewhat complicated by the fact James is clearly inspired in looks by her abusive ex-husband, much to unpack there). Harry Potter is not timeless, there is a LOT that is ultra specific to late 20th century British culture - which includes teen communication styles, Hogwarts teaching standards, complex class structures, and the fact that the Death Eaters are not the KKK, they’re the IRA.
Exactly!! I don't know if I should be blaming Tumblr, TikTok, Hollywood, modern US culture or whatever, but those takes are so woefully uneducated in the broad sense of the word - it seems like this generation can't grasp the concept of things being different in the past. You see it in the way they handle queerness in fandom. You see it in the way they can't handle darkfic, not because it's triggering, but because it's bad and you're a bad person for writing that. You see it in media like Bridgerton.
I don't know if the society has changed so massively during the last couple of decades so as to make the past unrecognizable to the point of inconceivable. I was a kid in the 90s and a teen in the early 00s, during which time I read tons of books taking place from the antiquity to what was then contemporary; I saw them as an opportunity to learn about a different era, draw comparisons with today, try to understand how people thought and acted and extract my own lessons. Perhaps kids/teens these days just don't read that much anymore, and as such they haven't learned to extract information from text, or at least, text that's not just speech written down - so they're only left with what they see, and what they see is their own, new and improved reality.
I don't know about James being inspired by her ex-husband - I recently heard Sirius was? I think that's the least problematic part, anyway. Harry Potter is a transparent text; its influences are very obvious, more obvious the more you know about where the author comes from (I don't really know about the differences between KKK and the IRA, I'd have to do more reading on that, thanks!) and that's not a bad thing. It makes it easier to understand and connect with.
If you can't do that, you end up taking out the names mentioned once and put them in a universe like the one you live in - which, good for you for having fun, but you're not engaging with the text at all.

Types of manga on the all time bestseller list, grouped by how surprising I found their various rankings:
Completely expected
00s shounen that became the face of anime. They might be good, they might be bad, but you know who they are.
Post-2010 popular action shounen you may or may not have read but you've definitely heard of. Globalization and the increased cultural acceptance of anime mean lots of recent record breakers. I just found a Spy x Family surprise toy at Five Below.
Rumiko Takahashi
80s coming-of-age baseball romcom in what we might call a "soft retro Rumiko Takahashi art style" because none of these are known outside of Japan. Their super high placement only seems bizarre if you haven't been a weeb your whole life
Old classics (astro boy, rose of Versailles)
Horny classics (much of the lowest tier)
90s or older gag comedy built on dudes contorting their faces like silly putty
Silly little kid adventures
80s sports manga that starts off realistic but gradually descends into madness to raise the stakes
Sports manga that doesn't start realistic and there's no way any of these moves are legal but the characters are all passionate cute boys
Cooking manga that only me and Japan know about. Cooking Papa should be even higher.
Pleasantly surprised
Horrible violent delinquents beat the fuck out of each other to determine who's the Worst. Cover is a sneering teen in a gakuran with a slick pompadour if it's near the 80s or shaved if closer to the 00s
Horrible violent delinquents beat the fuck out of each other but it's funny. Be glad it was made back then because "lol couldn't make this today" is something you'll think often
Realistic slice of life depiction of Just Some Guy
Vagabound? What are you doing up here?
Objectively knew of its popularity but still shocked by it
Visceral, anatomically unusual 80s-90s manga about muscular men committing increasingly bizarre acts of violence on each other. Always a favorite with 2000s gammer sites obsessed with proving their hobbies' manliness and those who liked posting contextless pages to freak people out. I don't have a problem with this so much as I can't grasp how stuff like Baki the Grappler isn't hyper niche.
Kid detectives. Another example of the "I already knew this was insanely popular but I'm not sure why" genre except unlike Baki the Grappler, I've read Conan and Kindaichi Files.
The first shojo appearance for miles, Boys Over Flowers. Did these books come with opium dusted on that shit or what
Unpleasantly surprised
Mediocre shonen you kind of knew was popular simply because the title popped a lot but YOU'VE never heard anyone talk about it, you're pretty sure you've never met a fan, and all the anime forums you wasted your time on wouldn't even bother insulting it, it was so low on the radar
All the big shojo names are lower than you'd think
Why is DEATH NOTE lower than the fucking SLIME ISEKAI?!?
Futari Ecchi 👎👎👎

Since you seem to be litigating rpf right now and since you’ve been around awhile, I wanted to ask you about how it’s evolved, if you haven’t already talked about that? I’ve been in fandom for maybe 15ish years, and I remember reading a lot of rpf back then (when rps seemed like more common terminology), and I feel like there were more defined lines between fans and the real people they wrote about. A lot of “if you got here by googling yourself, go back” disclaimers vs the current culture where some fans seem to show the people or ask them about fic and art and other fan works. It’s like there was a culture of secrecy before where there was less of a desire for the fanworks to ever reach their subjects, rpf or otherwise. I think most rpf writers/creators still feel that way, but I see so many awkward interview panels where actors/etc are being asked about fanfic. Is this in my head, or is the shift real?
--
Heh. Well, I was never a fan of any boy bands or the like until bitten by the BTS bug. I didn't even know who BSB and NSYNC were at the height of their popularity. So I did not always have a front-row seat to RPF evolution, but as far as I know, it went something like this in English-speaking spaces:
Prehistory: 1960s magazines were full of "Your night on a date with [member of the Monkees]" type stories. Music RPF was floating around in various forms for a long, long time, though the m/m band member/band member stuff tended to be extremely locked down, often with the names replaced.
From Eroica with Love shows how horny everybody was for Led Zeppelin back then. I can only presume there were doujinshi of the members in Japanese, but I'm not really familiar with what was going on over there.
Idols & Visual Kei: English-speaking fandom of Asian groups was into RPF by the early 00s and perhaps before. I was tangentially aware of this stuff from being in anime fandom but wasn't interested because I wasn't into most of the music itself. (Also, this was the era of limewire computer viruses or paying like $60 to get a Japanese album legally in the US.)
Johnny's Entertainment fandom is what I associate with this, circa 2001. On the visual kei side, people were shipping Malice Mizer around then.
Godawful 2003 vampire movie Moon Child, starring Gackt (of Malice Mizer and solo fame) and Hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel (yes, with a fucking tilde) did make people ship their characters but certainly did not dissuade people from shipping the guys themselves.
Popslash - Ye olde slash fandom converts: On the very, very Western side of things, all of the oldschool slashers started catching the RPF bug for "popslash" in the late 90s/early 00s. Prior to this, RPF was a HARD NO for much of this crowd and continued to be seen as a dirty secret. This umbrella term was intended for specifically BSB, NSYNC, and a few other pop stars, not just fic of any pop act. I don't know if people were calling it "RPS". I think they were just calling it "popslash", but I wasn't on the mailing lists and things. This was a pre-LJ era with that older infrastructure.
LOTR - Ye olde slash fandom converts again: Those that didn't get sucked in by popslash fell to LotRiPS when the Lord of the Rings movies came out in the early 00s. RPS was still seen as a shocking dirty secret before the advent of this fandom. Afterwards... people still hated it, but they'd realized there was no way to fully keep it out of their spaces. This also coincided with the move from the bajillions of LOTR (non RPF) archives with picky rules and mailing lists ruled with an iron fist to LJ with people's personal blogs full of their ungovernable wrong opinions and terrible taste in fandoms on display for all the world to see.
There was so much structured behind the scenes material for the LOTR movies that it formed a kind of canon of its own along with the press tours, and the actors were cuddly with each other. I don't think this is easy to understand now. Even the Hobbit movies didn't have this vibe, and there's so much more behind the scenes info and so many more youtube clips for everything now that the effect is much diminished. At the time, LOTR felt like a new era in sff franchise media.
There was tons of any two gu... um... somewhat generic hot porn, so even if you didn't care much for RPF, it became an attractive fandom. At this point, people were calling it "RPS", not "RPF", despite there being some femslash and het in the same spaces as all the Viggo/Orlando. The domlijah tinhats were notorious and did go bother the actors, I think?
The height of this fandom coincided with the height of cringey photomanips and "Why are their necks broken?" art with actors' faces on it. Fanartist The Theban Band was well known, though more for FPF than RPF. It's just that when you use the actual actors' faces, things tend to get conflated. Now, whether people started bothering most of the actors at the time in the early 00s, I don't know. Fanlore suggests that misuse of The Theban Band's art was already well underway in 2004. It's also often this stuff that Graham Norton bothers actors with years later.
It's not so much that fandom or RPF fandom changed at this point as that new people were into RPF who hadn't been before and much more importantly, the internet was changing. The level of access to actors and the level of awareness of online fandoms was changing radically around here. It changed again with Twitter and so forth, but this was still a major point in internet history.
Rockfic: "Rockfic" as seen on the Rockfic archive got started at some point. They meant Metallica, Bon Jovi, etc. I mostly know about them because there was beef between them and some of the popslash and bandom people around the time OTW was starting. (Popslash and bandom but not rockfic communities being well represented among OTW founders.)
Bandom: "Bandom" is another umbrella term with a general sound but a specific meaning. It was used for Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, and associated bands. This RPF fandom got big on LJ at the height of LJ fandom. It sucked in plenty of Western fandoms types who hadn't been into RPF before.
At the time, some of these bands and their associates weren't that famous, and they had personal Livejournals. It was not unusual for people peripherally involved with the actual people to be in the same spaces as the RPF. This was very much not appreciated by a lot of the fic authors. Band reactions seem to have varied between "yuck" and "Why doesn't anyone ship MEEEE? Don't you think I'M hot???" and other jokey lack of boundaries stuff.
A lot of the "Go away, X" disclaimers that sound like jokes are from this era and are due to some of these people actively going looking for the lulz.
Hockey - The final nail in the coffin for ye olde slash fandom: If the Popslash and LotRiPS waves didn't get people, Hockey did. After SGA, all the big slash writers that people follow from fandom to fandom seemed to be going to Hockey RPF.
Asianfanfics.com: Meanwhile, on the Asian media side of things, sites like Asianfanfics have been going strong for ages and are full of kpop rpf and the like.
Wattpad: Wattpad was the home of not only the Larries but of soooo much more Mary Sue/1D guy, and now Mary Sue/Jungkook.
--
How the boundaries are really depends on the era and the fandom.
The Rockfic archive used to make you pay a buck to sign up or something. It was extremely locked down, from what I remember, as you'd expect from a very old community writing m/m about macho bands.
The hockey people don't tend to be all up in players' faces because the players were mega, mega, mega famous long before the RPF fandom got big and because half the fandom doesn't even like sports: they're just there for the m/m AUs.
The Wattpad fandoms are a toxic hive of no boundaries and 13-year-olds posting their porn and too much personal info, but with fandoms as big as 1D or BTS, you can figure that plenty of individual people behave themselves.
Asking actors about fic in panels has become more common over the years, I think, though people have also learned to head it off better. I wouldn't say this is a RPF-specific phenomenon though.

31:00~~2/10/24~~
I ran my 2nd 5 k today and managed to run 3 minutes and 26 seconds faster than last time.. l'm not even sure how that is possible.. it must be the hills. i am so proud of myself and again amazed. a tiny tiny voice tells me i could have done better.. maybe... Madison came wiht me for support. I saw people there alone so next time I wont bother her to come with me, unless she wants to of course. I wish i had someone to celebrate with. i'm thankful for Maddy.. I'm thankful for a lot but still wish i had someone. i thought a lot today about how my divorce was/is the single best thing that has ever happened to me. I thought about how i hate hate hate how people say ohh sorry for your divorce. I thought about how it would have been a shame for me to not be the person i am today and how much i have learned and grown and healed. i thought about how i wish i had left sooner .. i dont let myself go too fr down that trail. I left and thats all that matters.. all these great things. Me- i dont know if i will ever be use to this life and these feelings of happiness.. when i laugh, i laugh.. joy. i did not have that or feel that for a lot of years and the last thing i wanted was to really feel anything because none of it was any good and now.. now.. peace. Peace.. and love. Madison is sweet to me. she knows i eat an apple a day and when she shops she has been making sure to buy apples. when we lived in our apartment she would always make sure to leave the outside light on for me.. i hate walking up to a dark house.. ptsd from Chatham. If he turned the automatic light off i knew i was in trouble. sooo.. i guess i'll keep running..
I am not a game player. Its just not my natural state. Pam has issue. Deep seeded trauma from her childhood.. its so obvious to me. the way she talks and her need to be liked and seen as cool and the way she tries to manipulate the people around her. She's smart but not intelligent. So, whatever.. i'm not friends with any of them.. there's one supervisor i kind of like, she was my first supervisor when i started.. and she is weird. None of it matters. I'm working from home tomorrow. I didnt get nearly enough sleep last night. I didnt want to get out of bed this morning. i tried to be nice to my Mom this week, i was being kind and supportive and she can not accept love because she does not love herself . she hates herself and doesnt think she deserves kindness or love and that is not my problem. do i love myself enough to be able to receive love?
I spoke to my manager in regards to the very important meeting she missed. She claims to have wanted to be there but it was thrown together last minute and she was not made aware of the time. Drew was in charge of the timing. Drew is always in charge of the meeting times and he sucks at it. I pretty much said that to her but in a professional way. its taken a year but his scheduling skills infuriate me. people pretty much do what benefits them. Drew has a attitude about people leaving work at 5.. he feels we should all stay later. He is late to work everyday and it benefits him to stay later so misses the rush hour traffic. ive stayed late in the past to accommodate him. I'm not doing that anymore. I get to work early almost every day. I am not staying later than i have to. I feel like he doesnt value other peoples time. he's called me 2 x in 2 days while i wasn't work.. he called me today while i was in walmart talking nonsense.. i got a new rep who is a total idiot. he never should have made it out of training and Drew is acting like he's been on team for a long time and what am i going to do about him. He's been on my team for less than 20 hrs- he was on Drew's team for 90+ days- how and why did this guy become my problem when he has been a problem all along.
I'm going to read the Bhagavad Gita- maybe finish it. I have been sleeping a little too good.. through the night good. the funny thing about work is none of it matters.. we can all be replaced tomorrow and that place would still go on. I shouldn't let it stress me out. i woke up with my period today. silence is beautiful. You're doing a great job April.. keep going! Good night

The whole dub discussion thing is pretty funny to me because recently I always kinda default to listening to dubs because I feel like there's a lot of nuances to voice acting that kinda get lost if you can't actually understand what they're saying, but at the same time I tend to default to English dubs than dubs in my actual native language, even though our dubs tend to be pretty decent for the most part
oh man ahah
personally i think it’s a question of being used to the language. I’ve been watching original versions of movies for as long as i could (and i’ve done some Cinema studies in the past so we had to watch foreign indies movies so we didn’t really have a choice or anything and we heard a huge spread of language). I think when you do it only once in a while, it can fly right over you yeah, but if you do it rather often you start to pick it up. Like any language, it’s all about practice right?
But you do have a point about how, when you’re not used to a language you feel like you’re missing a lot and maybe the dub will catch it.  Personally at least, French dubs have been extremely unequal and i’ve heard too much Dubs where the intonation completely betrays the original intention, not mentioning the times translation itself fails completely.
Personally i’m really a “original dub no matter what” person, but since it’s not easily accessible sometimes i just have to bite the bullet. We don’t have the worst dubs ever either and sometimes we have really good gems, but man.
One thing i know happened in France at least that fucked over the dub industry is that, in the Before Internet Time, there was at least 6 months between the release of a movie in the USA and its release in France. That long time was used to polish the translation and for the voice actors to genuinely figure out what they want to do.
But then internet and piracy started to happen. Movies in English with subs started to be accessible right after the release of the movie in the states, and Canadian Quebequois would also release a quick French dub that was usually a bit rushed, but came out close to the American parution.
So basically, that’s when they started to shorten the release in between the french and english version, which translate also with a rushed translation work and dub actors not always having the time to adjust and prepare.
I’ve felt it like, seeing Disney movies especially, because you see translations for the songs especially of the 90s movies, and they’re usually so damn pretty. Not Disney, but i still think about how Once Upon a December by Anastasia is so poetic in french so much so i saw foreigners mention they like it better than the original, because the translation, or more like, localization, really nailed it.
And then you see anything past the mid 00s and it’s a trainwreck and a half. like completely missing the point of the song and stuff like that, because they had to rush it as fast as possible. I once was furious when i heard the English version of I’m Still Here from Treasure Planet, because i learnt there that the song was beautiful and deep as hell and the French version is a complete travesty of it, and i grew up with it, so i was just wtf is that betrayal.
but it’s hard to fault anyone in the industry either so it’s so....
coughs anyway i got carried away, i see your point tho, completely, i’m just not trusting French dubs at least lmao
But in THAT case i’ll trust it.
And it’s nice to know we do have a choice and we can genuinely have an alternative, hearing English folks complain about a bad English VA, of going “so glad i can decide to never listen to it <3″, that’s really nice ahah

I’ve got some fresh headcanons over here. Dw if it’s a bit incoherent it’s like brain sketches
Before:
I’m very very sure Marty isn’t the only skateboarder in his highschool, or like he’d be the sort of person to ride in the back of a pickup truck. Maybe Needles roped him into shoplifting something dumb like chips or VHS tapes. I just want Marty doing Normal Teenager Things.
Lorraine probably kept herself in a stagnant marriage due to the sunk cost fallacy. She doesn’t physically harm her children, that’s too far, but she excuses her worse parenting as tough love. She managed to quit cigarettes… by filling those spaces with alcohol.
George loves routines. He loves how unexciting and simple they are because he doesn’t have to worry about some big responsibility.
I don’t know how to explain it, but he kinda spends his life waiting for the next time Biff will show up, lick his boots, and then go back to waiting. His life revolves around Biff in a terrible way, and he’s always tense. I think I just headcanoned him having anxiety.
He’s a doormat, but not stupid; every now and then some spark of a more confident self will show up if he knows his children are doing something obviously reckless. He did lecture Marty about hitching cars on his skateboard like a normal parent, but gave up after Marty kept doing it anyway.
Dave is the most affected by the turbulent household due to being the oldest, and in moments he always swiftly regrets, takes it out on his siblings. His dad’s love of sci-fi wore off on him, and curiously watches Dr. Brown from the side of the Burger King during breaks. He will never have the courage to talk to him, and when Marty becomes friends with the man, Dave satiates his curiosity through Marty. His questions are always disguised as disapproval.
Linda tragically mastered the art of placating the household during its most stressful moments. She kinda has the vibes of a Disney adult. Maybe. Ends up loving 90’s and 00/10’s fashion.
Jennifer is 1 million percent a prep. Sometimes helps the pinheads if they happen to be making music in her vicinity, like a second opinion for things the band argues over. She even makes lyrics for a song that Marty encourages her to refine.
Doc’s past is better analyzed by other people on this site, but some of my thoughts are:
Doc abhors spiritualism, he is a Man Of All Sciences. Well, most of them. His weaker spots are psychology and sociology. The 60’s were not a time that meshed with his personality. Ends up listening to a bit of Elton John, some old 1920’s jazz, and Oingo Boingo because that would be playing whilst working on simple, arduously long tasks to keep his focus.
Ends up with looser ethics after spending thirty years alone with a time machine that Needs to be built. My man spent 0 time wondering about the ethics of time travel this time around outside of some theories. Loneliness is bad for people. It’s why he ends up fucking leaving Jennifer in the car during BTTF 2. He gets better after some time in 1885.
Clara adores the human brain, like even now there’s so much to learn about it. She’d be a scientist if it was socially acceptable but she is waveringly content with teaching the various sciences that make her heart flutter. Her first love is knowledge.
During:
I’ve always felt like this is a bit supernatural in places.
LP and TP Marty switch timelines as they improve, and leave behind empty timelines with a dead Doc and missing Marty. There is an improved LP I will probably elaborate on later.
After Marty gets back to 1985, Doc was still acting out the first loop without the vest, then the timeline gradually updates his condition when Marty flipped him over and turned away, the timeline properly updated and he lifted himself off the concrete.
Doc has memories from both timelines without overwriting because twin pine doc was dying/dead and his consciousness couldn’t put up much of a fight with lone pine doc’s memories. They kinda merge into the same person??? I have a chart of this somewhere and a fun comic idea
Subsequently, Doc knows what dying feels like, and can tell with frightening accuracy whether or not someone will survive an injury. A few incidents with Mad Dog tannen’s victims, CPR, and an isolated incident with the Heimlich maneuver create some different rumours about him. He’s unnerved when some of the more religious townsfolk call him an angel with grave seriousness.
There’s this constant blank feeling in the back of his head, and the faint sound of a heart monitor echoes in his mind in silent moments. Doc is at a loss for the sensation for years until someone’s account of a near-death experience describes the feeling exactly.
George’s strong love of science fiction is echoed by the rest of the town, and some people Marty interacted with in the 50’s end up with wildly varying theories on who Calvin Klein was.
Even with a bad hand, Marty still makes music with synths. It will never be the same, but he made peace with it in his 20’s.
Jennifer does not like time travel after stumbling into her future self, fainting, and waking up at home. She only goes when she feels it’s necessary and there are no other options. Eventually, her opinion pulls a 180 and she yearns to recycle the delorean for both herself and Marty. Reads Flatland at some point.
After:
Jennifer goes into engineering/physics and builds another time machine from the Delorean’s temporal modifications.
Doc somewhat believes in destiny, a near-death experience would do it. Owns a salt lamp.
Doc and Clara are in more of a QPR, but they’ll never call their relationship that. It’s just a bit different from most.
Jules and Verne aren’t Doc and Clara’s biological children. They were adopted after the train hijacking or something to do with Doc's presence in 1885 led to the deaths/separation of their parents. It was at least slightly out of guilt, but not the whole reason why.
The stories about the delorean crashing in 1885 survive to the present day as ghost/campfire stories about a spaceship
Due to weird time travel stuff, a person’s actions may be railroaded into specific movements or words to prevent paradoxes, like the fainting thing. It’s how the recording in BTTF 1 always remains consistent.

SA lost two very important wars tbh
they* lost the war with furries, where now furry and just, generally being whatever having fun doing weird cringey stuff, that’s normalized to a larger degree online than ever before. every group has its local furry and that’s fine. meanwhile shitting on people for their interests/fetishes has become the pasttime of like, 14 year olds trying to recreate the burned furs. very nice! everyone has a sexuality let’s stop acting shocked by it thanks
buut they also lost the war with ebaumsworld, where most of the internet is now just unoriginal content that someone else stole and put a watermark over. the internet is just a few big name aggregate sites and it’s just as miserable and terrible as was feared.
also lowtax killed himself becase he got called ot for being abusive too many times and that’s funny i guess, it’s like something 02 lowtax would have laughed at but time and the internet has made weary jesters of us all
*i say they i was a goon before i was actively a furry
SA itself tho has pleasantly shifted from super irony shitpost hell to “oh god our ironic shitposting inspired an actal attempted revolution in america and probably the re-emergence of nazis and right wing conspiracies fck fck”
and now SA is a genuiunely chill place where you get banned for being a shitty person and i appreciate it
dice roll if you get banned for being a furry still or not like furry is even still even an IDENTIFIER
do you undersTAND what it was like to be a furry back in the 00s? like i’m not talking like 08 i’m talking like 01 02 i’m talking “the 90s are jusut now ending” furry
it was WEIRD it was like a CULT we had a cuultural IDENTITY we had in-words we had internal celebrities we had gatherings and COMMUNITY LEADERS and NEWSLETTERS it was like an actual THING you belonged to
and now “furry” just means like do you like anthro stuff and you see peopel go “nuh uh im not a FURRY i jst like to draw frries” and it’s like my dude it’s okay no one under 30 is a FURRY like it used to be i mean that’s not ture i ruune into plenty of 20 year old weirdos who grew p Far Too Much ont he internet and still interact with the world as if uwu im just a cute fur why do we have to talk about politics let’s just yiff grr yip :3 but like
like man that’s a battle the furry community lost and it’s ultimately for the best too that the entire fandom is no longer a semi-coherent grop like. it’s gotten so BIG you can no longer like, you can find some artist who is HUGELY POPULAR and you uhave never heard of them before
i can say “c-snakes” and NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK IM TALKING ABOUT. we are that far removed from ouru clture as a subgroup we aren’t even a subgroup anymore.
but like, in the same vein how many goons remember the ff6 romhack how many even get the JOKES in it today in the year of our lord 2022
but like my point is frry isn’t even a THING anymore. and that’s great because the fandom was honestly pretty shitty and it’s great to watch it disintegrate, fck you fuurries

I’ve been creating a whole AU where everyone are kids set in a modern AU (aliens are still aliens tho). Not featured in the doodles above but are in the AU: Ahsoka (15) and Luke (6). Currently writing a one shot where a very tired Jango is the Only One who notices smth is off about Din and Grogu, and this leads to him finding out they’re runaways and he has to adopt them both now 🤷‍♀️

Y'all, please consider BobaCobb, and the two of them fighting like an old married couple.
Cobb, who's had to fight for his own freedom as well as his town, wants Crime Lord Boba stay tf away from his town. Boba, however, can never seem to leave him tf alone. He butts in when he's not wanted, and Cobb tells him off every time because he doesn't need Boba's help for shit.
At first Cobb was super respectful because holy shit this man and his right hand assassin could demolish his town, but he gradually loses his fear of Boba and isn't afraid to snap at him. Boba finds it all amusing. Its also in his best interest that this mining town isn't taken over by a rival, hence his "meddling."
They team up at times to deal with a mutual problem, and to Cobb's dismay, they have flawless teamwork and Boba is great to work with. Perhaps they would've been friends if it weren't for the whole crime lord thing.
They exclusively call each other by their last names, but ofc one of them is gonna get hurt and drop to the floor and the other is gonna shout out their first name for the first time

When Boba made the deal for his armor, his protection extended to Din as well, not just the child. This lands with Boba looking out for Din and doing his best to get the man back on his feet. He is surprised to find that he actually wants to help Din instead of acting on obligation. There's a lot of mutual respect between the two of them, and it's fascinating that a Mandalorian seemed to make friends everywhere he went.
Not many people have Boba's respect. Feelings run deeper though he'd try to brush it off. He's protective over Din because of the deal, nothing more. (Which is bullshit because everyone, including Boba, knows that Din is 100% capable of taking care of himself.)
Then it goes deeper. Din is comfortable taking his helmet off around Boba. He's comfortable shedding his armor to allow Boba to treat his injuries. The weight of Din's trust in him doesn't go overlooked.
Boba finds his touch lingering too long. The other man doesn't seem to mind a bit, melting into a gentle touch. How long has it been since Din allowed someone else to touch him? To take care of him? His skin visibly prickles, but he never tells Boba to stop, and always comes back again.
Things get more intimate. Boba has never been a very romantically driven man, but Din is different. There was something special in the way that they softened themselves only for each other. Well, only each other save Din's love for his child.
Boba loves the feeling of Din's hands on him, the way he falls asleep to him gently tracing over the scars on his skin. They don't kiss much, but everyone feels deeply intimate. From a kiss on the temple, "Please don't stay up too late," to the solemn kiss of goodbye as Din leaves once again. Even the stolen little moments where their helmets bonked together in pseudo-kiss all had their impact.
Boba Fett is not a man of many weaknesses and certainly isn't known for having soft spots. Only someone who watched the way the danced around each other, the softened tones in their voice, the clear admiration and respect they held for one another would they be able to pick out that soft spot. Boba is incredibly soft for one man, and God help the fool that tries to exploit it.

Family Relations - Part 3
Summary: Your criminology teacher is acting all kinds of weird, which is the norm, except for the part where his eyes glaze over and he tries to kill someone. Stiles, the hero he is, tries to stop your professor with little avail until he gets some unnoticeable help from you. Stiles seems to find himself with you at the location of multiple attacks, just barely making it out alive. Through the bloodshed feelings, family, and friends mix to create a perfect blend of chaos and calm.
T/CW: Violence, not kidnapping but Stiles takes reader to a place she doesn't know and doesn't like 100% get her consent for it but also she's not upset about it, oh! and one cheeky sexual implication at the end
A/N: I'm about 90% sure I'm slipping into a depression slump and I won't be able to get it fixed for at least another month, so my update schedule - not that I have one - might be a little longer than usual.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Late night walks weren't unusual for you, you liked clearing your head before you went to sleep and you found that nature was always one of the best ways to do so. You'd been enjoying yourself in peace and quiet when an obnoxiously loud jeep started heading your way, the headlights glaring at you and the muffler failing to do a lot of muffling. You were waiting for it to pass but instead it stopped next to you, Stiles' head popping out of the drivers' side window.
"Y/n? What are you doing out so late?" You ran over to his side, the cool air making the metal of his car freezing to the touch.
"Taking a walk." You hummed, inspecting the vehicle and finding that it was painted blue with a special addition of duct tape on pieces that looked like they should be considered a safety hazard.
"It's 11:00 at night?" The moon shone brightly above you, a cloudless sky making it perfect for a nice outing.
"I like night walks."
"You shouldn't be out alone at night, it's not safe." Suppressing the instinct to tell Stiles that it only wasn't safe for people who couldn't break your bones without touching someone, you gave him a shrug and started walking away. His hand grabbed your wrist lightly, stopping you from continuing your stroll.
"No way. I am not letting you walk around at night on your own. Hop in, I'll drive you home." You gave him a pout and he got out of the car, hand still holding your wrist, to open the passenger door for you. As the door shut, a large gust of what felt like wind pushed the car to the side, the vehicle's wheels screeching in protest as a wide but shallow dent was made along the driver's side.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Stiles' complaints were loud enough for all of California to hear them but you were more focused on what just caused the dent. Getting swiftly out of the car, despite Stiles' protests, you stood in front of it, waiting for something else to happen.
You got your wish when a large vine made its way out of the thick of the brush and straight towards you and Stiles. Within a split second you were in action, bringing up a hand to create a shield, temporarily blocking the vine while your brain worked overtime to think of a way to defeat the plant.
"Stiles!" You called out to your friend, his voice replying from what sounded like miles behind you but in reality he was simply a few feet from where you were standing.
"I need you to duck!" You hoped your yelling was reaching him and you got confirmation when you heard a loud and broken 'what?!' in response to your request.
"Just do it ok, you have to trust me!" With that he called out a hesitant affirmative and you let the shield down for a split second to send a blade of air slicing through the vine, cutting it directly down the center as it fell to the ground. You held the shield up again for another five minutes, waiting for the enemy to return, when you had no response you let it down and quickly went to seek Stiles.
He was crouched behind Roscoe, shaking only slightly with adrenaline and a twinge of excitement. When he heard you call his name he stood up, spooking you accidentally by popping into your line of sight so suddenly.
"Are you ok?" You rushed to as a question before he asked the inevitable one of 'what the fuck is going on?'.
"I'm fine. Are you ok?" His hands were roaming your body, checking for injuries of any kind as he patted down your arms and tilted your head up to look underneath your jaw. You nodded, putting his fretting on pause for now.
"Now you're definitely coming with me." His words were surprising, he didn't even ask what you were or what you did, although knowing a werewolf will do that to you, you supposed. You drove in silence for about three minutes before you couldn't take it anymore, the lack of noise made you want to explode.
"Stiles where are you taking me?" He shook his head and made a zipping motion on his lips, signaling that he wasn't going to give you any information. He was shaking, buzzing with the need to tell you that he was taking you to his pack because that's what he does when these kinds of things happen, but he refrained from it because he knew his chances of actually getting you there would deplete greatly if he gave you even a hint of his plan.
"So, nice car..." He hummed in response, biting his tongue so he wouldn't spoil his mission. You frowned at the lack of communication and slumped back in your seat, head turned to watch as the city scenery whizzed past you.
When the ride was finally over you found yourself in front of an old townhouse, shut off and condemned what you were sure was 100 years ago. Its front was covered in ivy, the windows blocked from the flora that had conquered the structure. One step to the door was broken, the wood split straight through due to some unlucky bastard's step.
"Stiles where are we?" You asked as he opened your door for you, grabbing your hand immediately once you stepped out so you wouldn't escape. Stiles opted to ignore your question entirely and instead led you towards the door of the ancient home, and into its rickety structure. The halls were dark but he managed to sift his way through, muscle memory guiding him, and effectively you as well, towards the door that led to the basement.
He held your hand down the stairs before knocking on yet another door, this time metal, in the basement. When the door opened you had to adjust to the flash of light, taking his opportunity Stiles quickly dragged you into the middle of the pack meeting, standing next to you in the center of the circle.
"Y/n meet my pack, pack meet Y/n." His introduction was vague, but in his defense he was still shaken up by almost being smashed by a vine. Scott was beyond shocked when he saw you standing in the middle of the circle, and you gave him a sheepish wave, one hand still death gripping Stiles'.
"What is she doing here?" Derek cried out, standing to assess your threat level. Stiles pressed a hand to the older man's chest, pushing him away lightly to protect you, even if Derek could overpower him in less than a minute flat. Taking the hint the elder werewolf sat down next to Issac, who was, as usual, wearing his classic scarf and leather jacket.
"Well we were just attacked-"
"Attacked? Oh my god are you ok?" Allison jumped right into nurse mode cutting off Stiles completely, immediately getting up and scanning you for bruises, foregoing an introduction, before moving on to Stiles who waved her off animately.
"Yeah we are, but that's because Y/n did this whole forcefield thing and she told me to duck so I didn't see it but she sliced the vine and it was kind of awesome." Stiles' rambling brought the whole pack up to speed while you stood in the middle of all of them, looking understandably nervous. Your eyes kept flitting from Scott to Stiles, the only two people in the room you knew whatsoever.
"So, what are you?" A ginger spoke up from her perch on a bookshelf, eyes coming to meet yours with a look that screamed that she was on the defensive, despite not having been attacked.
"I'm a witch. I'm assuming that you're all werewolves?" You scanned the eyes of the participants, trying to catch sight of a glint in one of their eyes. When you saw none you internally shrugged before returning your attention to the group before you.
"Can I sit down now or do I have to stand like an exhibit this whole time?" Your nerves didn't stop your annoyance at the situation, you never liked being the center of attention. Stiles squished himself into the side of a chair, patting the spot next to him. You looked around the room trying to find another option, not that you didn't want to sit in his lap, you wanted to sit in his lap doing so many things, you just didn't want it to be weird. Upon seeing no other option you squeezed yourself in next to Stiles, who looked generally very happy considering an arm rest was most certainly digging into his ribcage.
"We're not all werewolves, I'm a banshee and Kira," The ginger pointed to an asian girl sitting next to another girl who looked amazingly uninterested at the entire event.
"Is a kitsune." Kira waved at you, smiling brightly and nudging the girl next to her so she would pay more attention.
"I'm Malia, and a were-coyote. Everyone else is a were-wolf though you're right." She went back to scrolling through her phone and disengaging from the conversation. You took in the information around you, nodding and trying to remember the names that were given. Stiles put his arm around your shoulders, allowing you to lean into him for a source of comfort.
"Well, anyways, we were just talking about the deaths that have been happening on campus and-"
"Are we seriously just going to ignore the fact that a witch just walked into our pack meeting? Is that something I'm supposed to not comment on?" A younger boy sitting on the couch spouted off and you snorted at his words. You were starting to like some of the people here, even if you didn't know their names.
"Hey kid," The boy stared at you before pointing at himself to confirm and you nodded your head.
"What's your name?" He made a vindictive gesture towards you before answering.
"Thank you! That's the kind of thing you do when you meet new people. My name is Liam, this is Derek because he won't tell you his name otherwise, he's moody." Liam pointed a thumb in the direction of the man next to him on the couch who was scowling at his words.
"The banshee is Lydia, and the guy who wears scarves all the time is Issac. Oh, and that's Scott's girlfriend Allison, she's not a were-wolf either she's human like Stiles." After listing off the names of several pack members he sat back in the couch triumphantly, looking over at everyone to see what they planned on doing.
"As I was saying, we just went over the attacks happening on, and apparently off, campus. Do you think this is magic Y/n?" You were pulled out of your head by Scott's question and you shook your head briefly before answering.
"I don't know what else it would be but I can't be sure. I've never heard of a spell or power that makes someone a killer out of nowhere." Your magical knowledge was limited to self defense mostly, something you picked up and perfected back in your hometown. You also had a significant extent of offensive knowledge which you picked up from watching other witches' attacks on you, but it was mostly theoretical.
The room feel quiet and the air became tense as everyone else looked at one another, like there was a joke you weren't in on. Finally Kira broke the silence.
"I don't want to bring this up as much as you don't but we all know this reminds us of the nogitsune." The room fell silent again and you tried to search through your brain for any knowledge you'd have on the unfamiliar word. When you came up empty you sighed, Stiles taking note and looking to see if you were ok.
"Sorry to be so out of the loop but, what's a nogitsune?" This time there was a collective sigh as they all looked at Stiles, waiting for him to explain as much as he wanted about his past with Void.
"It's a spirit, it feeds off of pain. It's immortal unless you kill it, which we did, and it can possess people. When we dealt with it last time it ended up killing a lot of people-"
"It almost killed me." Allison interrupted, clutching her stomach where you assumed there was a nasty scar commemorating the encounter.
"It ended up killing a lot of people with a sword, kind of like with these last few attacks." He finished, looking away and purposely avoiding eye contact as he said it.
"What are you not telling me?" With potential murderers on the loose you had no time for bullshit, and you knew that whatever Stiles said wouldn't phase you, not after tonight.
"It can possess people..." There was dead silence as everyone waited for Stiles to continue.
"It possessed me, and then it looked like me. It did a lot of things with me, it's a long story but that's kinda the gist of it at least." He looked deflated to be bringing up his past and you wrapped an arm around his back in support, rubbing his arm to comfort him and show him that you weren't upset. He turns to you with a hesitant smile, happily surprised at your lack of fear like you weren't just told that at one point a murderous spirit had possessed him.
"Ok, so the nogitsune sounds like our culprit but you killed it. So, what's up with that?" You heard Lydia mutter something about you being obvious and you chose to ignore it in favor of looking around the room to gauge their reactions to your question. The only one who looked slightly worried was Kira, so naturally you asked her your next question.
"Are you sure you guys killed it?" You were directing the question at Kira and she stiffened upon hearing it, sitting up straight as a board.
"Yes we are. Can we move on now?"
"I mean..." Everyone was once again quiet as Kira spoke up, voicing her opinion on the dark version of the spirit that she had.
"We don't know if it's dead. You can't really know, but we did a pretty good job and I don't think it'd have enough power to come back so soon. Again though, I can't be sure." Upon her information Scott stood up, collectively grabbing everyone's attention.
"Ok, does everyone have all their theories out?"
"What about voodoo?" Liam piped up while Scott muttered something that sounded like 'evidently not'.
"Vodou can't do that. Spirit possession isn't evil in Vodou, and actual Vodou dolls can't control people, especially not ones that're alive. I would say maybe it's a zombi but again, the perpetrators were living when it happened. Besides, there's no reason a Vodou practitioner good enough to pull this off would have any interest in murder, they have enough to deal with. Vodou is a practice, not the supernatural." While his idea was deflated Liam looked content with your answer and was prepared to listen to Scott, finally.
"Ok so for theories we have, nogitsune, and witch. Any other suggestions?" Scott gave the room a minute to start talking before he moved on, tired and wanting to get some sleep before the sunrise which was only in a few hours.
"Ok, Kira can you find all that old research we did on the nogitsune? Allison go back to Beacon Hills with Derek and Liam and look through the bestiary to see if we can get any information on witches-"
"Hey!" You interrupted, loudly proclaiming your lack of involvement in witch-related studies.
"Witches who want to kill people Y/n, not you. I think our best bet is the witch idea, unless it's something new entirely, then we'd be..."
"Fucked?" Isaac finished Scott's sentence for him, the action making Scott roll his eyes before returning to his speech.
"Alright, everyone be on the lookout ok? We're done here, let's go home everyone." Allison stood up from behind him as he finished, hands still intertwined. You got the feeling that Allison and Scott wouldn't be very vigilant tonight.
"So, home?" Stiles stood next to you after you both managed to maneuver out of the chair. You nodded and went with him out to the jeep, the night air making you freeze. You shivered when your back touched his car seats and he frowned, reaching behind him to feel around his back seat.
"Should I ask what you're doing?" You chuckled, arms wrapping around yourself to conserve body heat. Stiles triumphantly pulled a large piece of clothing out from his backseat making a victorious noise as he did so before handing it to you. Upon further inspection you realized that it was a hoodie and you thanked him while putting it on. It was big on you, the sleeves coming down over your hands to make little sweater paws and Stiles almost cooed at seeing how cute you looked. You tucked the hood under your head to serve as a neck rest and you closed your eyes as Stiles drove off to the address you listed.

The Freedom of Expression - Episode 46 The filming for the Dir en grey Real Avatar music video.
K: Hi, this is Dir en grey's Kaoru with this episode, uh, this week's episode of the Freedom of Expression. Joe san, Tasai san...it feels like a while since we were last here.
J, T: Yeah.
K: We've been on location, plus last time we filmed 4 episodes at once. Quite a while has passed since then.
T: It has.
J: Nothing new with you?
K: No, nothing.
T: Hahaha
J: Tokyo Sports seems pretty busy..
T: Yeah, I watched you two recently...on Niconama.
J: Ah, yeh. You wrote an article, thanks for that.
T: I was a bit envious while working on it.
J: Yeh, but what about that Tokyo Sports hoodie? How is it doing?
T: Yeah, it looks like its selling.
J: Right.
T: Thanks to you two.
J: No, no, its thanks to Kaoru, but..
K: No, no, its nothing.
J: You gotta make something else for round two.
T: Yeah, there might be a T-shirt collaboration in the works.
K: Ehh? Im looking forward to that.
J: Eventually we'll have like a The Freedom of Expression x Tokyo Sports collaboration set?
T: Yeh, and we could sell that, then go to Okinawa.
J: Go to Okinawa? Haha.
K: Hahaha.
J: Our plan is steadily progressing that far..
T: Together with you Joe.
J: Yes, please, haha.
K: Ok, so Joe, can I ask you to get us started today?
J: Got it! This is happy news, the news that Dir en grey will screen an avatar music video. Dir en grey will reveal a new music video on New Years Eve from 11:00pm, which includes avatar characters created using 3D scans of the members. The Explosion screenings of 'The World You Live In', have been sold out. So an encore entitled 'The World You Live In - additional' will be held on New Years Eve as an online broadcast. As well as a special talk event with the members, a music video with real avatar characters, made by 3D scanning each member, will be screened. Kaoru?
K: Thank you
J: This is good news, isn't it?
K: So as a rule, we always broadcast this show on Friday, but we've made it a bit irregular this time in order to talk about this. Well, of course, I've seen it already.
J: Have you? What was it like?
K: Well, first of all, as for the filming, we did our make up and costume etc, and had cameras surrounding us 360°. We filmed it there first, and then in a different studio, we put on clothes that had pointers all over them, and I played air guitar...
J: Ah, you performed.
K: And then we took photos seperately.
J: It sounds like hard work, was it?
K: Not really, it was over quite quickly.
J: Really?
K: For the photo shoot in full dress it was like, 'flash..flash..Ok, finished'. It felt like a waste of all the make up I was wearing. Like, 'Isn't there anything else?' haha.
J: Ah, if only you could've have done more...But when you were finished with all that, they made it into a moving person?
K: Well, yeh, it has the kind of atmosphere as if its in a game.
J, T: Ehh?
T: What are the facial expressions like?
K: It wasn't possible to go as far as making different facial expressions. Well, i mean, you could do that if you had the time, but we didn't...
J: This time you didn't go that far? But its the first time for Dir to try this kind of thing, right?
K: Yeah.
J: Was there any kind of catalyst that made you think, 'Lets do this'?
K: Well, there was a kind offer saying like, 'We can do this kind of thing'..
J: A suggestion came, and you decided to give it a go?
K: Yeah, thats it, kinda like that.
J, T: Ahhh.
J: You know, this is...
T: It looks interesting.
J: Its exciting, right?
K: When I was playing, there was a pointer right in the position that I usually hold my guitar, so they asked me if I could change the position.
J: Ah, the the postion you play the guitar?
K: Yeah. They tried to help me change the position, but it was still interfering, so I ended up playing up here at chest level, which would nomally be impossible, haha.
T: Hahaha
J: Pretty high up, its not very Kaoru style, is it?
K: I think it'll be a sight to see.
T, J: Hahaha.
K: Its soo high up! Haha
T, J: Hahaha.
J: By the way, are you influenced by anyone in particular as to the position in which you hold your guitar?
K: No, its just the best position I can play in, based on the size of my guitar.
J: Ah, I see. But somehow you ended up playing up here while filming this mv?
K: Yeah, well..I had to raise the position a bit.
J: Ahh, did the other members have to change anything?
K: No
J: Just you? Because it got in the way of the pointers?
K: Yeah.
J: Ahh, really? Die always plays quite low down doesn't he?
K: Yeah, he does. When we first put on all those pointers and mimicked playing the instruments, it came up on screen as just like moving lines. Even just looking at that, I could tell it was Die straight away.
J, T: Ehhh.
K: The shape on screen looked just like Die.
T: Thats pretty interesting.
J: He's very characteristic, isn't he? How do you film the drums? With pointers on them?
K: Haha, pretty tough, right? We had to use a photo of the drums and stick them on.
J: It seems like drums would be the most difficult to play by air. Or was it not that bad?
K: Well, if the positions of the pointers were set then...
K: Ahh, and it was over very quickly?
K: Yes
J: And you were holding your guitar up here? I say that, but I don't know how good it looks *1, haha. Well, if i had to choose, playing it lower down probably seems cooler. There was a lot of people in the 90s playing guitar like that, right? Punks and stuff. They played it quite low down. There isn't anyone who plays it up high, is there?
K: No, not really.
J: How about actually holding it like that, Kaoru?
K: It would be pretty difficult to play.
J: It could be the 'Kaoru position'.
T: Haha.
J: The cool position!
T: Haha
K: Yeah.
J: Im looking forward to this.
T: The song is the new single 'Ochita koto no aru sora'?
K: Yeah.
J: Are you gonna test this out once and see the reaction, then maybe do more?
K: I think it would be interesting if we could spend a bit more time on it, and brush up the backgrounds and stuff.
J: You might be able to make new creations using only this. I am looking forward to this.
T: The broadcast will start at 23:00, ohh so its gonna be on as the year changes.
J: Yes.
K: First we'll show the same footage that was in the explosion screening, and then after the year changes we'll appear, and then play this mv.
J: Ah, I see.
K: During the live broadcast with the members, we'll play this. And then we'll kinda talk a bit.
J: I see.
T: This is a great way to bring in the new year for the people watching.
J: Right? There wasn't much good news in.2020, so they will really appreciate this piece of hope appearing at the end of the year. They'll be looking out for the postion of the guitars!
T: The same position as ???*2
J: Thats it.
K: It seems like Kami had no interest in this topic.
J: Isn't he here today? Are you there, Kami?
Kami: Yes, I'm here. I've seen it too.
J: You've seen it?!
T: Have you?!
Kami: Yes, I have.
J: Cause he's a god, right? He's different from humans.
K: He sees what we see.
Kami: Because gods have power.
J: Power? Even low grade ones?
Kami: But, no, it was very interesting.
J: You enjoyed it?
Kami: I did enjoy it, it was cool.
J: Did you notice anything about the postion Kaoru was holding his guitar?
Kami: Ah, no, not really.
J: Haha, didn't you? As a god, is there any scenes you would recommend to watch out for? Or any points to pay attention to?
Kami: Well, of course the images were good, but I really thought the song was good. Dir en grey are good at writing songs.
J, T: Hahaha.
K: Thanks, haha.
Kami: I think you have talent.
K: We're good, right?
J: Yeah! He's acting like a judge.
Kami: Thats because Im a god.
J: Well, yeah. Haha, saying, 'You're good at writing songs' to a pro. Thats a first. But thats just like Kami. So, you liked the visuals, but you heard the song again in a new light?
Kami: It was fun.
J: Ah, it was fun? Thank you.
T: How about making a Kami avatar?
K: Ah, yeh.
J: We've never seen what Kami looks like..
Kami: I can't show you that yet.
K: We could make an avatar, and then have it come on screen, when he's here.
T: Yeah, like in this area of the screen.
J: Yeah! If its technically possible.
K: Tasai could create the character.
T: Hahaha.
J: Like his legendary..Oh, lets do that.
T: But I can't draw him, I need to see him. Otherwise I'd have to imagine what he looks like.
K: Yeah, just draw it from imagination.
T: Like my own image of Kami?
J: Yeah, something like that. Well, in that case we could each try drawing him..
K: Even if it isn't a moving character, we could put it up on that line that appears when Kami talks..
J: Yeah, I see.
Kami: Im just a regular old guy.
K, T, J: Hahaha
K: Well, we know that...
J: Yeah, from what we've heard from him so far, we can gather that.
T: Thats it. I could kinda get an image of him by listening to all of his stories.
K: A combined picture of him.
J: Or a loud talk session with him. Thats not nice to think about, is it? haha
K: Yeah, with that voice, it might be a bit tough.
J: Haha, yeh, it would be exhausting.
K: Yeah.
J: Yeh..
K: Ok...well, also, this is a bit of promotion for me, but from February we will start our Explosion Screening tour of our Meguro RokumaykanGig live. We'll go all over Japan with it, and the member will also..
J: Join in, do a talk session?
K: Yeah, we'll do talk sessions.
J: You'll be there? Well, it has been announced already, so people can already check out all the info in realation to that.
K: Is that all?
J: Yeah, I think so.
K: Well, I'd love it if everyone was able to watch the live broadcast tomorrow.
J: Yep, don't miss it.
K: Ok, lets finish here for today. Please subscribe. Thank you very much.
*1 Not sure if this bit is entirely right.
*2 Couldn't figure out.

if it’s not too late, 12 for episodes and ships, and 17!
its never too late! thankyou for the ask 🥰 oo damn this is gonna be a hefty one, just to prepare you this is gonna be long 😅😅😅
spoiler alert for my friends who are finishing up season 2 rn, be careful if you look at my top five episodes, pay attention the the episode numbers, i will put [ ] in bold at the beginning and end of spoilers!
12. Top 5 ships
5. faith x myself because have you seen faith? shes such a babe! spare consensual kiss maam?
4. willow x oz, i dont know if this is an unpopular or not but i feel like if the 90s had been more accepting of term then willow wouldve been bisexual, but like even now tv shows will rarely let characters say that word :( but anyway i love them! theyre both quirky and kinda awkward but its such a sweet relationship and you really see how they go from awkward crushes to an actual deep relationship, oz is one of my favourite characters too what a dude!
3. giles x jenny, mlmxwlw solidarity in this bisexual couple! there is no an ounce of straight between them and i love it, i love their dynamic, i love that giles *respects women* (im staring daggers at xander rn), also the original girlboss x malewife couple askdjaksjhd
2. drusilla x spike, these two!!!!!! once again a bisexual couple with zero straight between them, the vibes are off the charts. sexy vampires, goth x punk love, i just love them man, and their relationship is so interesting to delve into. like theyre vampires, theyre soulless and yet they have a capacity for love, they care deeply for eachother, theyre so tender towards eachother in season 2 in the way they take turns to care for one another, also drusilla picking spike up with one hand made me gay and thats on that
1. willow x tara!!!!! lesbians man lesbians! they have a beautiful relationship, until a certain point wink wink, they feel like a perfect match, willows become more outgoing due to buffy and xander snd having a proper group of friends, so its cool to see her as the more outgoing independant one in the relationship, and tara is such a honey 🥺 the biggest sweetheart in the world what a babe!!!! also like how groundbreaking was their relationship? as a queer couple, they had p much the dame amount of screentime as a aueer relationship today! and willow says the word lesbian so many times and is always making gay jokes which is something shows today are too scared to do, its honestly refreshing which is weird for a show in the 90/00s
12. Top 5 episodes
this is so hard because its such a damn good show so i had to rlly be picky about this but here we go
5. 6x22 ‘grave’- i watched buffy for the first time last year at work coz i worked with one other person just packing shit, and THIS was the episode that made us cry infront of eachother. the scene with willow and xander at the end is one of my all time favourite scenes and like legit we were watching and we starting going like ha.. this is so sad Q_Q and we looked at eachother and we were both crying akdjdjsjdhs its SO GOOD, like this is a friendship ive been so invested in and [seeing xander be able to pull her back from that dark place was so heart wrenching and amazing god its so good]
4. 3x12 ‘helpless’ - im finishing up s2 in my rewatch rn so i havent rewatched this one to double check but i remember loving it man. buffys father daughter relationship with giles is my favourite of the whole show they make my heart ache, so i love that this is an episode that really shows you how dedicated giles is to her, [its the breaking point where he finally disregards the fact that hes a watcher and acts as her father once and for all, its a turning point for their relationship where he is finally embracing the fact that shes like a daughter to him and i just love to see it Q_Q get you a dad who will leave his lifes calling for you]
3. 4x22 ‘restless’ - season 4 is interesting coz it has really good episodes and them some gd awful ones 😂😂 but this one just blew me away, i love a good character study episode and this is THE SHIT! its so weird and creepy but in the most perfect way, its not on the nose its so subtle, it feels like an uncanny valley version of buffy almost, i like that they finished the season first and then took this episode to do something out of the box and different i feel like it lets them fully explore this idea without the pressure of needing plot included. [also the cheese man is iconic. dont however like xander being all nasty with willow and tara but whats new there man]
2. 1x12 ‘The Prophecy Girl’ - for my first watch of buffy i wasnt that into the first season, like i enjoyed it but i didnt think it was anything super special? but this episode changed EVERYTHING for me. up until now buffy had been fun, witty, charming, but not anything new atleast for me, maybe in the 90s it was but right now its your average teen supernatural show. but this episode!!!! the emotion! buffy facing her death, her speech about how shes just 16 and shes scared and she doesnt want to die, that is what i wanna see!! its heartbreaking and it made me cry, and then it gives us the wonderful moment of giles trying to take her place and buffy realising that she has to be the one to do it, man its so good! basically anything with buffy and giles being a duo is gonna make it an automatic yes from me and this is indeed the case for this episode, i just love that the show remembers that shes a child! shes not brave all the time, shes not strong all the time, shes just doing her best and sometimes its overwhelming, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 i bow to this episode
1. 2x17 ‘passion’ - i know i just sang praises about prophecy girl but THIS EPISODE IS THE SHIT, the best episode full stop. i wont accept any argument. angel is probably my favourite big bad, its so funny to see plain bread, mopey brooding angel become this charismatic, funny, poetic, blood thirsty angelus, hes everything i want in a villain and in this episode he delivers! rip jenny tho love her. i think the tension built around angel is so good, because of his drawings and notes left around, every scene youre worrying like is he here now? are they safe or what? its so tense! and also it is me and im a slag for buffy x giles father daughter moments and this episode fucking delivers! giles discovering jennys dead body is probably one of the best scenes on the show, the dramatic irony is heAVY, we know jenny is dead, we know that these flowers arent from her, but giles is so so happy, and i want to see him happy but you just know somehing horrific is about to happen and damn does it. its a masterpiece! i love jenny and giles so much it is so sad, but also the fact that it gave us that scene makes me almmmoost ok with it? i also love the moment where giles breaks down in buffys arms, hes been there for her and now shes returning the favour and hes accepting it i just 😭😭😭 also on a different note, angels narration of this episode is amazing! it gives us great insight to who he is as “evil angel” and like even though hes awful i was also kind of rooting for him coz hes just such a great villain
sorry this is so long lmao, last question!
17. Which characer do you wish had less of a focus on them in the show?
i dont wanna get yelled at butttttt i dont like the amount of focus on dawn. i think it makes sense for the her first season considering the story arc but that season really does double down its focus onto dawn and buffy and it barely leaves room for anyone else to have a storyline, it keeps the episodes super depressing too its like a constant level of just sadness the whole time because we’re so stuck in THEIR arc, theres no room to balance it out and have a breather, some people might like that its more serious but i really really didnt like, i love episodes like prophecy girl where it is campy and brings the more emotional notes in when the time comes, but dawns whole arc is just constantly depressing the whole time i just hate it, and also just shes not a character i felt i could connect to because of how suddenly shes introduced, so its weird to have her SO focused on in the first half of that season coz we dont know her yet so i feel like the emotional moments dont land the way that they should? basically they shouldve eased us into dawn or introduced her differently and maybe i would like her enough to want the focus on her but i really just dont
adksjakjshd apologies for the essay this is, thanks for the ask!
