lee heeseung, the most popular guy at decelis academy, had mediocre grades, good looks and of course he was the flirtious fuckboy jock.

y/n nishimura, well known in the school,not perfect grades(apart from english) but still good and best friends with maddison, one of heeseung’s ex-girlfriends— the longest relationship he’s had, being almost a whole month.

warning: swearing?? i dont think anything too nsfw will be in this as theyre in the last year of high school but the spin off might

“whos this?” jake chuckled, walking towards heeseung, who had his arm around yet another girl “hi, i’m jessica” she smirked,

“and apparently has a thing for my best friend” heeseung said. not like he cared anyway, she was just another fling for this weekend,

she rolled her eyes then walked away “another one hee? man you can’t stick to one girl for a month” heeseung raised a brow and smirked “there was that one girl uh… maddison i think?” jake nodded along

“actually hee, you and maddison only lasted for half a month” jay said as he and jake did a boy-ish handshake. “i bet you can’t stay in a real relationship for a full month, no hooking up or texting or anything that would be considered unloyal behind her back..” jake nudge jay, who joined in “yeah, and 20 bucks -“

“for each date, 30 for a kisses,”

“And a full 50 for sleeping with them”

heeseung rolled his eyes, but nodded “alright, i’ll take that action, i can get any girl”

“right, any girl, so we choose who”

“and we choose her,” jay pointed. “yes! i think her name is... y/n” jake smirked smugly, raising his brows . heeseung nodded then looked at the crowd she rolled with. everyone in the group were easy targets, hell he got the queen bee of the group to date him, he snickered

“too easy man, i could do it for 2”

“alright,do it for 2 months”

“double the pay first” jake and jay looked at each other then nodded “alright, double or nothing and you can’t tell her about it, now go on,show us”

“hey, stacy you got the homework from last night?” maddison asked as she fixed her makeup in her mirror “yeah, not number eight thou-“

“holy shit heeseung’s coming this way” she interrupted

“hello ladies” heeseung said, doing his signature smirk “what do you want lee?” yunjin questioned, annoyance laced through her words

“i just came over to ask one of you something” he looked all of them in the eyes, most of them swooned, despite hating him for breaking maddisons heart in half a month.

“y/n” he said, finally his eyes landed on her “wanna go out for dinner? tonight?”

y/n smiled sweetly and again, heeseung smirked

“no thanks, i’m busy tonight sorry” she glanced at her friends and nodded goodbye to heeseung as she walked away.

“hey y/f/n y/m/n,” maddison smirked, taking a seat next to her best friend, of course the other girls followed “whats up madds?”

“jessi had the idea to maybe...yanno play with heeseungs heart a little bit.”

“i think someone rejecting him messes with his heart and his ego enough” y/n replied with an eye roll “no,no you have to get with him”

“madds i—“

“i’ll pay you 50 bucks” y/n sighed “i’m not going to date him just to break his heart like that, besides if i were to get with him, i wouldn’t do it for money, maybe i want to date him” maddison smiled “i knew you liked him! mister neighbour boy”

again, y/n rolled her eyes “i liked him a long time ago maddison, that crush for him is gone. Boom.” She talked with her hands, as if making an explosion. “gone, that's why you dated him, remember?” she laughed then nodded, standing up “i gotta get to first period, but if you want the 50, you know where to find me?” she winked leaving the room to go to her own class.

“psst nishimura” a voice called from behind “what do you want sim?” she whispered back,not bothering to turn her body to face him

“you got some nerve, hurting heeseung like that in front of your friends”

jake knew that heeseung, at one point did in fact have a crush on y/n.. to be fair they were 10 at the time and he lowkey shipped them, that's why he chose y/n

this time, she turned to look at him “what the hell are you on about?”

“we encouraged him to finally ask you out and you turned him down saying you were ‘busy’ ” rolling her eyes, she turned back around to continue her work “i don’t know what you think you’re doing but it's not going to work on me, i know him. he's my neighbour and hes, just… beside i actually am busy tonight, i got work”

“right, you’re not going to sit at home and binge watch that 70’s show again?”

“you guys still peek through my window?” She groaned “well you leave the curtains wide open so..”

“creeps” she mumbled, closing her notebook and leaving class.

“hee,” jake called,walking over to his friends “turns out, she actually is busy tonight,apparently she's got a new job” the group of boys- excluding Jay turned towards Jake

“what are you talking about?”

jay chuckled “heeseung took the challenge to stick to one girl for 2 months, 40 bucks for dates,60 for kisses and 100 for sleeping with her”

all the boys smirked “doubt you can do it heeseung, you've got a reputation, who is the girl anyways?”

“y/n nishimura” jungwon’s jaw dropped “hey, are you really sure that's a good idea?. i mean her little brother is really protective.. he’s also on the team and really looks up to you” but it seemed his voice wasn’t heard as the boys began to murmur

“oh shit your hot neighbour?”

“If she's got work..i guess i’ll just pick her up then” Heeseung smirked.

“you don’t know where she works yet”

“our moms are still friends, they’ve probably talked about it”

“hello?” y/n answered her phone “hey, so remember your childhood boyfriend?”

she groaned and rolled her eyes “what about heeseung mum?” Her mother chuckled on the other line “well he offered to pick you up after your shift—“

“woah,hey i thought dad was picking me up”

“well heeseung offered and your father and i decided to go on a last minute date”

y/n sighed “alright..whatever, okay, i gotta go. i’ll..call you if he doesn’t show up or something..” groaning, she put her phone away into her locker then placed it on her hat, ready for her shift of handing out popcorn and drink.

when her shift was finally over, she took all her things and stepped out “nishimura” he called, as the windows rolled down “hey lee, i think i’ll just..walk” he scoffed “no way, your parents will kill me if i let you do that, and it's about to rain”

“it's not about to—“ and suddenly, just like heeseung said, it began to rain. “alright but i’m sitting in the back—“

“hey noona!” the window to the back door rolled down,revealing riki and 2 of his other teammates “hey boys” she smiled,sweetly to them

“looks like you’re going to have to ride shotgun” heeseung smiled innocently, then got out to cover y/n with his jacket to refrain getting more wet while leading her to the car. “thanks i guess..” she mumbled before heeseung shut the door for her “hey y/n, guess what i got on the essay!” one of the boys called “you passed it didn’t you” he nodded “so much more than passed y/n! I got a 95 on it! you're so like..magic, i don't even know how it happened”

y/n chuckled “well a magician never tells” riki looked between his friends, y/n and heeseung “hey heeseung hyung,yanno how y/n helps us all in english” the older boy nodded, keeping his eyes on the road “what about it?”

“and remember the fact that you’re failing english? and coach said that if you don’t get your grades up, you don’t get to play in the next game” heeseung stepped on the break “shit! sorry red light i didn’t see..” heeseung turned to look at the boys to make sure they were all okay, then he looked at y/n

“you okay?” she nodded,slightly shaken up, but she was okay. “good… uh what were you saying riki?” he cleared his throat “i was saying, that maybe if you’d ask, y/n could help you out in english, she like a goddess in schoolwork, especially in english ”

y/n’s brows shot up “a goddess? who are you and what did you do to my little brother” The two boys next to him chuckled “not just in english..” sunoo said, causing riki to smack his arm

“well yeah, you’re uh..really good at it..” the other two nodded “you helped the three of us really, we got the highest grades of our respective classes!” Y/n smiled and raised her hand to get high fives from all of them “that’s wonderful!” the one to the left—jungwon spoke up

“so now that you work at the theatre, do you get discounts?” y/n nodded “i can, yeah, why you got a date?” he chuckled lightly “well maybe..” she gasped then turned towards the boys “no way, who is she? Is it that girl you sit next to in your math class?” he just smiled then looked at his friend “y/n, how bout you…. treat the highest score to a movie?” she eyed the three boys then nodded before turning back to the front

“i’m gonna need some proof that, that's really your score” suddenly, three papers were handed to her from behind “ohh sunoo, jungwon you both were really close.. but looks like i’m taking my own brother for a free movie” she turned back around to hand the boys back their papers, to see riki with a giant grin on his face “you alright riki?” he nodded vigorously “cool,just let me know when you’ve got no homework and we’ll see whatever you want. thanks for the ride heeseung” y/n said, before flashing the younger boys a smile and heeseung a wave then getting out of the car.

“so you like the neighbour girl aka my sister huh?” heeseung turned to the boys that were still in his car “yeah well.. so do those two!” he defended himself, heeseung snickered while driving onto his driveway “at least riki gets alone time with her..” sunoo mumbled, earning a smack from said brother and an eye roll from heeseung “okay, that’s enough, come on, two j’s are waiting inside”

once out, the boys ran to the door and were greeted by jake and jay “hey—“

“wait..i finally get to spend some time with my sister… and we aren’t just studying.. ha! thats awesome” It finally had fully registered in riki’s mind that y/n was going to treat him without studying,he was estetic.

jay raised a brow “she tutors them in english and he got the highest grade so she's taking him out for a movie” heeseung replied, taking a seat between the two

“right… maybe you can get her to tutor you too,get a good grade then boom the bet starts” jake whispered, heeseung rolled his eyes “don’t think that’ll work but if all else fails.. which it won’t, i’ll get back to that”

“Hey riki, where you off to?” heeseung asked, shutting the door to his house

“y/n’s taking me out to see a movie!” he smiled happily, “oh thats today?” he nodded “she even double checked that i had no homework..”

“y/n?..” riki walked over to see why her car door was wide open and the hood was up “hey Riki...i’m sorry, i don’t think i can drive us, my stupid car..”

lucky for them, heeseung was watching from his front lawn. he smirked to himself, as he saw an opportunity to get to know y/n again, and more importantly, get the bet over with.

“i couldn’t help but see how you two are still here and not at the movies..” heeseung smirked walking over to them, riki frowned “yeah, but it's okay, we can uh..still hang out right? We can just watch some movies on the couch” she nodded “yeah, of course we can..sorry we can’t watch into the spider verse” heeseung perked up “hey, i haven’t seen it yet, maybe the 3 of us could go”

riki kept looking between y/n and heeseung. he figured since y/n was his sister and heeseung was a good hyung to him, he’ll set y/n up with heeseung

“i’m okay with that if you are'' he grinned “sure”

at the movies, riki and y/n convince heeseung to buy them popcorn and snacks, “i call the inner seat, y/n you sit in the middle!” she raised an eyebrow, “uh..riki what are you trying to do?”

he shrugged “nothing, come on, sit down” heeseung nudged her “what you afraid we’ll talk throughout the whole movie like we did when we were kids” she shook her head

“oh please, i have self control now, not like i’d want to talk to you anyway” as she said that, she smiled “you used to say that all the time” heeseung chuckled “yeah well, the first parts true-”

“y/n? heeseung?” a voice interrupted their conversation “hey maddison..” maddison sent y/n a smirk “what are you two doing here?”

“they are definitely not on a date!” riki said from behind a bag of popcorn

“so, you’re on a date then?” both heeseung and y/n glared at riki, who blushed and smiled innocently “right well, come find me when this date that's not a date is over ‘kay? ‘kay'' she then continued her walk up to sit with her younger brother. “so..”

“lets just watch the previews yeah?” y/n glanced behind her and saw maddison mouth “50 bucks” she shook her head and forced herself to look back to the front as the lights began to dim.

“hey, i can walk or get a ride from maddie from here,-”

“NO!..uh i mean no, c’mon y/n please come home with us, we can wait while you talk to your friend.” riki pleaded, y/n bit her lip (heeseung thought it was adorable) “yeah, we’ll get starbucks before we go home” she giggled

shit she’s really adorable heeseung thought to himself

“how could i pass up free starbucks..or free anything to be fair?. I’ll be right back”

y/n found maddison, who was looking through her purse “so theres this party”

“no party, i have a lot of writing to do”

“fine then, here’s your fi--”

“maddie, i told you, i’m not going to date him for money, plus this wasn’t even a date, it was supposed to be just me and riki as a ‘good job for actually listening to me and you aced your essay’ and brother sister bonding, heeseung only came along because he drove us” maddison raised a brow “so you let him tag along to the movie?” she shrugged “he paid for popcorn and snacks,” glancing back towards the boys, who were both watching her

“i gotta go, heeseung’s my ride” madison smirked “you mean you’re going to ride heeseung”

“fuck off maddie” y/n laughed before walking back to them

“ready?” and they were off “why starbucks? it's night” riki said as they stood in line." you're so right riki, we’ll get you some water, whilst we get…” y/n turned towards heeseung “fraps?”

“fraps.” riki pouted then perked up “i’ll go find a seat. hyung, you convince her to get me at least hot chocolate?” the starbucks they were at was basically empty, but they decided to let him go,

as he left, heeseung smiled, he’s caught on to what riki was doing. “So, how are you gonna convince me to get him at least hot chocolate?” she looked up at Heeseung “well obviously i’m gonna use my mouth” y/n turned his body towards him, bewildered

“what”

“to speak and use words…” he glanced at her with a smirk “get your head out of the gutter sweetheart” she rolled his eyes as they walked up to the counter “hey heeseung” the girl smiled “hey, uh... morgan..” he studied her name tag

“you were supposed to call me like a week ago..” he gulped and glanced over to y/n, who shrugged next to him “right, sorry about that.. an i uh..order?” morgan nodded disappointingly “right, we’ll i’ll have two grande caramel frappes and a tall peppermint hot chocolate” as morgan told them their total, both y/n and Heeseung pulled out their cards “i got it--”

“you paid for the movie”

“yeah because i got a discount, you already paid for our snacks”

“you put snacks in your mouth, drinks goes through the mouth too, i win the argument and i pay”

“you drove us here”

“i don’t see the logic in that darling” heeseung bit his lip, trying to conceal a smile

“look, i don’t care who pays, you just need to pay for them” morgan interrupted “right, sorry,” heeseung stepped up and paid for them “thanks” y/n blushed and morgan rolled her eyes “no offence y/n, but he’s not even gonna stick to you for a full week”

if looks could kill, morgan would be dead, in fact, y/n was thinking of ways to kill her with words. she couldn’t help it. the little girl inside her was fuming, despite knowing heeseung’s reputation and constantly hating him for it ,the urge to fight anyone who ever insulted her childhood best friend was tempting

“y/n, c’mon, our drinks are done” heeseung took her hand leading her away, he knew that look in her eyes. she had the same one whenever someone used to bully him in their younger years, jake said that heeseung had the same look when it comes to y/n, even now when someone said something mildly bad about her. “right, sorry”

“nice! How’d you do it hyung? sunoo hyung and jungwon hyung can’t. our parents aren’t that easy either” riki grinned as heeseung handed him his hot chocolate “i used my mouth”

riki cringed and gagged “gross! keep that kind of talk away from me!.. anyway how’re your classes doing right now? i was serious when i said my sisters the best at english, like an english goddess ”

y/n blushed. she isn’t used to her brother flaunting her talents so much “I’m not the best riki. nor am i a goddess.”

“hey, didn’t you get like a 95% in our english class last year, that's higher than..what is his name? the guy who always aces everything?(HAHAHAH GUYS THIS WAS ACTUALLY ME and the dude is my friend so i bring it up whenever i can to annoy him:) )” the blush on y/ns cheeks grew “uh..yeah, but”

heeseung smiled at her “see goddess” the two boys said at the same time

“hey, speaking of, when we picked you up the other day, uh.. my parents heard i was failing english again and i..i was wondering if you could tutor me too?..” she nodded “sure, anything for an old friend” and former crush “cool, then its a date uh! stud...study date” riki almost spit out his hot chocolate from laughing, but covered it up with a cough when heeseung glared at him

“i know what you meant heeseung.”

“sorry to interrupt, but we’re closing” a woman smiled at the group. “oh! yeah, sorry” the trio stood up, picking up their drinks and leaving. “what ‘ya doing the rest of the night?” heeseung asked letting go of the door after y/n went out “well tomorrow is saturday so probably writing my book all night”

“still writing peter parker fanfiction?” she was quiet for awhile

“yes, but that's not the book i’m talking about” heeseung smiled, that's how they had become close when they were younger, the love of spider-man “okay, well now you’re going to a party with me after we drop off riki”

“but--”

“no buts, maddie usually pulls you out to parties but i haven’t seen you at one in awhile, plus i know you have writer's block” she shook her head “no i don’t”

“alright then, what's happening in the scene you’re writing?”

“my main character is talking with her parents who are vampire hunters, and her soulmate parents who are vampires..”(spoiler for the next series)

“then?” heeseung stopped at a red light then looked at y/n with a raised brow “then they...dammit, how the hell do you know i have writer’s block?” he shrugged then drove “i can still read you i guess, you gotta go to this party with me, promise, right when you think of something,i’ll drive us back home. deal?” she sighed

“you should go to the party y/n, before you start tutoring heeseung, or you’ll be stuck with him for far too long and have no fun at all” riki smiled from the back “screw it, fine, i’ll go...but its not for the reason you said..” y/n chuckled pointing to riki. “alright, out riki-”

“can i at least go change first? i look..not the best for a party”

“you're so right noona. you should change.” riki said, sticking his head between the driver and passenger seats. “geez riki, thanks”

once y/n left the car, riki’s focus went to heeseung

“i don’t care that you are older than me or that you’re the captain. if you hurt her, i’m kicking your ass.. but if you promise not to, you have my full permission to date my sister.”

heeseung was shocked, but he understood. riki has always been protective of his sister, even when he was a toddler. “i can’t even think of hurting her riki.. i promise i won’t hurt her” the younger boy nodded, opening his door to get out. “by the way, i would’ve found my way into that party but i’m deciding to let you two have some alone time.”

y/n decided to change into a simple black and white tee and some black baggy jeans,

“oh you changed too” heeseung was leaning on the hood of his car and smiled when he saw her.

“look at that unplanned matching outfits, perfect couple-- uh..couple of friends” y/n shook her head with a small laugh “yep, couple of friends”

“heeseung!” jake called as soon as they entered the house “oh! y/n hey, sorry i didn’t know you were coming so..i didn’t bring you a drink too..” she smiled and shook her head “its fine, i’m uh..i’ll go find Mads”

“find me when you wanna go, yeah?” he reminded her before she walked off.

“alright so, you want your payments now or later when you complete it?” heeseung smirked “pay up now jake”

5. faith x myself because have you seen faith? shes such a babe! spare consensual kiss maam?

4. willow x oz, i dont know if this is an unpopular or not but i feel like if the 90s had been more accepting of term then willow wouldve been bisexual, but like even now tv shows will rarely let characters say that word :( but anyway i love them! theyre both quirky and kinda awkward but its such a sweet relationship and you really see how they go from awkward crushes to an actual deep relationship, oz is one of my favourite characters too what a dude!

3. giles x jenny, mlmxwlw solidarity in this bisexual couple! there is no an ounce of straight between them and i love it, i love their dynamic, i love that giles *respects women* (im staring daggers at xander rn), also the original girlboss x malewife couple askdjaksjhd

2. drusilla x spike, these two!!!!!! once again a bisexual couple with zero straight between them, the vibes are off the charts. sexy vampires, goth x punk love, i just love them man, and their relationship is so interesting to delve into. like theyre vampires, theyre soulless and yet they have a capacity for love, they care deeply for eachother, theyre so tender towards eachother in season 2 in the way they take turns to care for one another, also drusilla picking spike up with one hand made me gay and thats on that

1. willow x tara!!!!! lesbians man lesbians! they have a beautiful relationship, until a certain point wink wink, they feel like a perfect match, willows become more outgoing due to buffy and xander snd having a proper group of friends, so its cool to see her as the more outgoing independant one in the relationship, and tara is such a honey 🥺 the biggest sweetheart in the world what a babe!!!! also like how groundbreaking was their relationship? as a queer couple, they had p much the dame amount of screentime as a aueer relationship today! and willow says the word lesbian so many times and is always making gay jokes which is something shows today are too scared to do, its honestly refreshing which is weird for a show in the 90/00s

12. Top 5 episodes

this is so hard because its such a damn good show so i had to rlly be picky about this but here we go

5. 6x22 ‘grave’- i watched buffy for the first time last year at work coz i worked with one other person just packing shit, and THIS was the episode that made us cry infront of eachother. the scene with willow and xander at the end is one of my all time favourite scenes and like legit we were watching and we starting going like ha.. this is so sad Q_Q and we looked at eachother and we were both crying akdjdjsjdhs its SO GOOD, like this is a friendship ive been so invested in and [seeing xander be able to pull her back from that dark place was so heart wrenching and amazing god its so good]

4. 3x12 ‘helpless’ - im finishing up s2 in my rewatch rn so i havent rewatched this one to double check but i remember loving it man. buffys father daughter relationship with giles is my favourite of the whole show they make my heart ache, so i love that this is an episode that really shows you how dedicated giles is to her, [its the breaking point where he finally disregards the fact that hes a watcher and acts as her father once and for all, its a turning point for their relationship where he is finally embracing the fact that shes like a daughter to him and i just love to see it Q_Q get you a dad who will leave his lifes calling for you]

3. 4x22 ‘restless’ - season 4 is interesting coz it has really good episodes and them some gd awful ones 😂😂 but this one just blew me away, i love a good character study episode and this is THE SHIT! its so weird and creepy but in the most perfect way, its not on the nose its so subtle, it feels like an uncanny valley version of buffy almost, i like that they finished the season first and then took this episode to do something out of the box and different i feel like it lets them fully explore this idea without the pressure of needing plot included. [also the cheese man is iconic. dont however like xander being all nasty with willow and tara but whats new there man]

2. 1x12 ‘The Prophecy Girl’ - for my first watch of buffy i wasnt that into the first season, like i enjoyed it but i didnt think it was anything super special? but this episode changed EVERYTHING for me. up until now buffy had been fun, witty, charming, but not anything new atleast for me, maybe in the 90s it was but right now its your average teen supernatural show. but this episode!!!! the emotion! buffy facing her death, her speech about how shes just 16 and shes scared and she doesnt want to die, that is what i wanna see!! its heartbreaking and it made me cry, and then it gives us the wonderful moment of giles trying to take her place and buffy realising that she has to be the one to do it, man its so good! basically anything with buffy and giles being a duo is gonna make it an automatic yes from me and this is indeed the case for this episode, i just love that the show remembers that shes a child! shes not brave all the time, shes not strong all the time, shes just doing her best and sometimes its overwhelming, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 i bow to this episode

1. 2x17 ‘passion’ - i know i just sang praises about prophecy girl but THIS EPISODE IS THE SHIT, the best episode full stop. i wont accept any argument. angel is probably my favourite big bad, its so funny to see plain bread, mopey brooding angel become this charismatic, funny, poetic, blood thirsty angelus, hes everything i want in a villain and in this episode he delivers! rip jenny tho love her. i think the tension built around angel is so good, because of his drawings and notes left around, every scene youre worrying like is he here now? are they safe or what? its so tense! and also it is me and im a slag for buffy x giles father daughter moments and this episode fucking delivers! giles discovering jennys dead body is probably one of the best scenes on the show, the dramatic irony is heAVY, we know jenny is dead, we know that these flowers arent from her, but giles is so so happy, and i want to see him happy but you just know somehing horrific is about to happen and damn does it. its a masterpiece! i love jenny and giles so much it is so sad, but also the fact that it gave us that scene makes me almmmoost ok with it? i also love the moment where giles breaks down in buffys arms, hes been there for her and now shes returning the favour and hes accepting it i just 😭😭😭 also on a different note, angels narration of this episode is amazing! it gives us great insight to who he is as “evil angel” and like even though hes awful i was also kind of rooting for him coz hes just such a great villain

i dont wanna get yelled at butttttt i dont like the amount of focus on dawn. i think it makes sense for the her first season considering the story arc but that season really does double down its focus onto dawn and buffy and it barely leaves room for anyone else to have a storyline, it keeps the episodes super depressing too its like a constant level of just sadness the whole time because we’re so stuck in THEIR arc, theres no room to balance it out and have a breather, some people might like that its more serious but i really really didnt like, i love episodes like prophecy girl where it is campy and brings the more emotional notes in when the time comes, but dawns whole arc is just constantly depressing the whole time i just hate it, and also just shes not a character i felt i could connect to because of how suddenly shes introduced, so its weird to have her SO focused on in the first half of that season coz we dont know her yet so i feel like the emotional moments dont land the way that they should? basically they shouldve eased us into dawn or introduced her differently and maybe i would like her enough to want the focus on her but i really just dont

so we’ve done iwa, oiks, and kyo and last but certainly not least, matsukawa issei has finally arrived

there were definitely a lot of chemistry between you and him especially as you were constantly babied by him because of your naturally shorter height

lol but like everyone else is shorter than him tho

you were constantly treated with a cuter teasing and mattsun loved to pick you up all the time

sometimes, you would just be doing normal things like checking off something of the players in your clipboard

when mattsun would come up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist

that was kinda your signal that he wants you to hold him which means you turning around and jumping to his arms where you wrap your legs around his waist and he just holds you

mattsun usually snuggles his face to your neck while, with your arms around his shoulders, you continue to do your duties

at first, it definitely flustered you because you didnt think it would be appropriate to show that much affection in public especially to the team

but mattsun’s puppy eyes (which the others have never seen before by the way even makki) persuaded you

‘come on, y/n-chann,, even great players need to recharge too’

he holds on to you and not once does he loosen his grip which prompts you to just stay there with a sigh

well, the whole story is this:

you and the team wanted to hang out outside of school and it was summer so the only time yall ever see each other is during practice but thats no fun

so they organized cough cough oikawa forced everyone to meet up at the mall for some ‘quality team bonding time’

originally you were against the idea bc duh this was summer vacation and you really want some peace and quiet and you time, yanno?

so you ended up going and you were kinda grumbly when you arrived but whew when you saw those boys

my GOD

you may be just their manager but you were a girl too

you know handsome boys when you see them

obviously the other girls in the mall thought so too because they kept staring at the small group and were whispering to themselves

even as you walked and passed some of them, you could make out what they were saying

‘oh my god those guys over there’

‘do you think theyre single?’

‘obviously not!’

‘well it wont hurt to ask, right?’

‘especially that tall one. his eyebrows could do some work but we can change that’

your eye twitched at that comment and you resisted the urge to smack her in the face for even finding a FLAW on your boy’s face

so you sucked in a sharp breath and confidently walked over to the boys, trying to ignore the heated stares the girls and the gays were giving you

it was makki who saw you and he brightened up at the sight of their adorable manager-chan

this boy may be a full adult already but his mind structure surely isnt

iwa had to herd everyone to the actual mall and they started talking about really weird and random stuff like a recent drama that happened in one store and the one kid who stole something from the other store

oikawa tutted and you chuckled

while the others were at the front and just chatting, you strayed behind with mattsun, who still kept you tightly beside him and made small talk with you

he was quick to refuse but you just laughed and issei rolled his eyes at your silliness

so it was a weekend so there wasnt practice and you were just doing some errands like picking up more bandaids and some candy for natsu and such

but you did it without eating breakfast first so you were starved and you finished around noon

that caused you to go looking around to eat somewhere near

across the road from the shoe store (like a foot locker or sum like that), was a cute little restaurant

it wasnt a typical building and it stood out from the surrounding high rises of the city

the roof was shaped to look like a cottage and the door was quite literally

a front door

the kind you’d find in a normal cottage out in the country

the only thing distinguishing its identity as a restaurant was the sign board outside that mentioned its daily special

‘oooo f/f (favorite food)’

it immediately lured you in and you found yourself even knocking at the door before going in

the inside looked like a normal restaurant but it had a homey feel to it

especially with the grandma who stood at the small table in the front with a gentle smile and a menu

‘just one today, dear?’

she asked and you nodded, grinning

she led you to a table at the corner and told you to pick a drink while you look for food

you sheepishly smiled at her on top of the menu

‘im a manager of a sports team so i needed to restock on medical supplies’

granny immediately thought of issei as he played a sport and you going out to buy medical things made her heart warm

but hearing it from some completely random stranger made you really really touched

you started to refuse her and told her that it was fine but she waved you off

so you brushed it off and decided that you werent going to win against the old woman and told her what you wanted

when you knew what you wanted to eat, you placed the menu down and looked around the interior of the place

there were pictures of what seemed to look like from years before as the lady in some of them looked like the granny

from pictures of famous people who came here to what looked like just complete strangers

they were all who decorated the walls

it caught your eye

a picture, maybe a table down on the right

looked like it could be mattsun

younger, definitely

but still mattsun

you mumbled and as you leaned forward to get a closer look, the granny returned to ask what you wanted

‘what can i get ya today, honey?’

before you could get your order out, you smiled up at her to ask the question

you were fully expecting her to say no and continue on

but she lit up and nodded

‘mhm. why?’

you awkwardly laughed

granny didnt believe that as she could easily tell what that laugh was but she shrugged it off

‘in fact, hes here right now. hes probably taking an order as we speak but when he comes by i can--- ISSEI!’

she shouted and you jumped

the people around you did too but issei didnt, instead smiling and trotting over

you stared at him, eyes tracing his figure at the sweat running down his exposed forearms and the black tee that stuck to him like second skin which accented his built body

there was redness in his cheeks and he was panting, maybe due to the heat or due to the running around

he warned with gritted teeth but you laughed

he was starting to get flustered and you were too

but she did finally start opening up later though

granny came over to give you your bill but noticed your staring at issei

this is making him worried and although you havent known her for a while, you noticed that issei is very close to her

she was like his own grandmother

so hearing that she wasnt doing good made you worried and obviously mattsun has been concerned for a while

this outing has helped you distract him from that and just focus on you and the team today

you and issei slipped away a lot from the others like going to a candle and scent shop or to a sports good store

but it didnt matter where you both went bc as long as you had each other, it would be fun

you were both currently at a clothing store that you randomly went in and were now picking clothing for each other

he had a smile on his face mainly because you called him by his first name

you didnt even notice and was too busy looking between his body and the shirt

you continued looking at clothing but mattsun continued looking at you

since the mall was kinda like half outdoor and half indoor, you and the guys were walking outside to see the different restaurants

he knew it was impulsive and shouldnt have happened but he didnt regret it

but he would start to regret it if you would directly turn him down and he really cannot handle that emotionally

and then the friendship would become awkward bc now you know he likes you and you would start to overthink and you would become uncomfortable with each other so you guys would drift away and the team would start asking questions and now it would be awkward around them too and aaaaaa

it was going good

everything felt normal and you guys were as close as before

late night ramen runs were still happening and you still stuck around him as much

and then it happened

it was during a movie night hang out with the team at iwa’s house bc everyone goes to iwa’s house akdjlkf

you and the team were scattered around the living room but naturally, you were next to issei on the couch

it started from 2 pm to what was now nearing 11 pm

this time, it was oikawa’s turn to pick the movie as he finally won rock paper scissors

of course, my mans oikawa chose a rom com but it had a sad ending

“Always Be My Maybe”

it was a movie about childhood best friends who suffer from skinny love and desperately trying to show each other that theyre in love with the other but their insecurities and doubt drove them apart into a new lover’s arms

help i just came up with this movie and the one i looked up online didnt really fit into the plot but like i dunno i havent watched it kadsjfl

‘kawa, why are we watching a sad movie?’

iwa grumbled but he pushed the play button anyways

‘well,, i think its a movie we can all learn from’

no because oikawa is trying to help mattsun and you since he is tired of the constant longing stares

oikawa totally knows that’s self-subotaging but hes not ready for that conversation

ngl, for a team of grown men, you would doubt a rom com/sad movie wouldnt move them but by the end, as the two lovers met a decade later and walked away for the final time towards their respective partners, everyone bawled

‘noooo!!!!!!’

oikawa cried, glomping himself to iwa’s shoulder, who was sniffling and wiping his tears with the collar of his shirt and patting his friend’s back

everyone else was sobbing and you were no better

mattsun wasnt hardcore crying but he did have a few tears slip

with all the crying, you felt your throat getting dry so you stood up

‘i-imma go and get water’

you excused yourself and quickly ran out to the kitchen

god why were you crying this hard?

youve literally watched hachi yet you didnt cry this hard

but why with this one?

were the actors that good?

the plot?

or was it because of how similar your situation was?

being desperately in love with your best friend?

and him throwing the only opportunity for you to tell him?

you hunched over the sink and you hiccuped, trying to desperately wipe away the tears and practicing how to get your breathing even

while you were in your dilemma in the kitchen, mattsun stared at your spot next to him

that movie, he definitely knew oikawa was up to something

but he would think about that later

right now, he was too busy freaking out

that movie was like a wake up call for him

all that overthinking and avoiding the subject and self-depricating thoughts of denial of why you would love someone like him

if he didnt do something, that could be him to you

sure the circumstances werent the same as he was the only one pining wrong but either way he didnt want that

that movie was like a prediction or a glimpse of his future

watching you in the arms of someone else, maybe a family

the little girl that was supposed to have his messy wild hair and your eyes

were now morphing into someone else

the someone else who was man enough to even ask you out for coffee

and snatched your heart right under his nose

that thoroughly scared him which caused him to stand up quickly, scaring kindaichi who was next to his feet

issei maneuvered himself towards the kitchen with the only thought in his head

be. honest.

he found you hunched over the sink, gripping the sides

his heart reached out to you

‘y-y/n? um, i have something to say-to tell you’

he fumbled

you jumped at his voice and frantically tried to calm yourself

you awkwardly laughed

‘w-what is it, mattsun? im literally sobbing on a sink right now, can it wait until im mentally stable-’

‘no. i-i need to say it now. or ill chicken out’

you turned around and the sight of him made more tears spring up

‘well? say it’

you encouraged and he took a deep breath

love is peace.

if he wants you, he needs to say it now

‘i dont know,, i dont know how to say this in a way that makes sense but-um-i like you. wait-! like! i like you, a lot. like the kind that,, im in love. im in love with you, i love you and everything about you, even that thing you do while you eat bUT thats besides the point!’

he rambled and you started rapidly gasping for air because oh my god

this was it

he was confessing

he took a step forward and you made no move to stop him

he looked into your eyes

‘youre the sun in my galaxy and the peaceful home of my world. i cant lose you to somebody else like that lady, i just cant. even if i get rejected, i want to go knowing i tried my best. i dont want to look back on this and think about the what ifs or the maybes. i cant let you be my maybe, y/n. so if you’ll have me, i will tell you everyday that everything i feel about you, i havent felt before. but its good. its the best feeling. i dont understand it or have a meaning to it but i dont care. because you make me feel happy, safe, peaceful. i may not be able to give you the world but i will spend every day of my life trying. because i love you.

you were shocked

his words made you lose grip on what was true and what was fantasy

you spent hours late at night, imagining him say that he loved you

and now it was happening, because of some movie oikawa put on

so you start laughing both in joy and relief

god the things you want to say

because you were too happy and too excited to interrupt this moment

however

issei interpreted this as you rejecting him

he thought you were surprised and shocked, maybe even scared

issei was starting to get embarrassed bc you were laughing so you must be laughing at him and how stupid he sounded

that split second of bravery was now gone as his fear was back

but this time, in ultimate mode

he couldnt even say anything else so he was about to turn and run

but you sensed him about to run away

so you grabbed the first thing you could

his sweatpants string pulled him straight to you and this time, you kissed him

his eyes were wide and he really felt like he was now slipping into hallucinations

wasnt this part of the stages of grief?

but no

the softness of your lips

the warmth pressed against his own

the arms around his neck and the waist his arms were around

they all felt so real

because maybe

it is real

maybe, you feel the same way

maybe, his feelings were reciprocated

maybe,

just maybe,

you loved him too

oikawa and the team were peaking over the couch and they were all both crying and celebrating because finally

you guys were together

but that meant you werent theirs anymore

oikawa patted himself on the back because once again,

oikawa tooru saves the day

they all pretended to be surprised when you guys announced your relationship

like the surprised dude in that one painting

oh my gosh she was so happy

you finally came back to the cafe but this time with issei

she was wiping the counter and was about to greet a customer when you walked in, with issei’s arm around your shoulders

‘issei’

she whispered

‘hey, baa-chan’

he greeted and you bowed slightly

she rushed to greet you both at the front

‘youre supposed on your day off’

she mumbled but issei shrugged

‘we wanted to tell you first’

he grinned shyly

you shook her hand but granny pulled you into her arms

‘you are now my family!’

she exclaimed, squeezing you

she may be 80 something old but that lady still has arms of steel

‘take care of him, darling’

she whispered to your ear as she hugged you

‘i will, i promise’

granny rushed to seat you both and she pulled out a chair

‘oh i am so happy!’

you felt happy too

granny was someone important to issei, even more than his own parents as he quickly took you to meet granny again

you thanked and she waved it off

‘please! if anything, i should thank you! he really scored a pretty one, didnt he? my gosh, im so relieved. i have been worried issei wouldnt find a girlfriend because hes too busy working or fussing over me!’

issei stood up

‘reminds me, baa-chan. it’s noon. ill get your arthritis meds’

he just wanted to rush out of there

once he was gone, granny leaned close

‘i have known issei since he was only 14. he wanted to work and i gave him a spot but that little boy refused to leave until i had to kick him out! he dedicates himself into things that he finds most valuable. in all my years knowing him, he has never been so dedicated to anything until he met you, y/n’

she whispered but you felt shy

she was telling you everything

‘he’s practically my grandchild. i was so worried, that he would put everyone else before himself but you are the one that made him think about himself, for a change. that poor boy came to me not knowing what he was feeling because it’s the first time issei really asked himself what he wanted. and he has found that he wants to be with you and he loves you. he loves you more than his mind can really process. so im thankful for you, y/n. youre really, really important to issei and i wish you all the beautiful and hope-filled years to come’

you felt tears pricking your eyes as she bowed a little

as usual, this is around olympics era timeskip

so thats like 9 years?

you and issei have been married since you graduated high school because this guy cannot wait

he waited 3 years he cannot wait any longer

so now, you guys got a little family

issei was over the moon when you both had a girl bc it was the little girl he thought about having with you

then a son

and later, you are expecting another one

so back to olympics

you and issei held tightly to a child since there were so many people in the stadium

there were pictures everywhere and posters of the players but mainly team japan

himari was tightly clutching issei’s hand as the 9-year-old was unfamiliar to such crowded places

you later decided it was a bad idea to bring a newborn to something as chaotic as the games but didnt make that decision until you were already at the stadium

so you tightly held hiroto on the baby chest carrier thing

he was only 3 months old so he was still as his sleeping phase but he was the kind that refused to wake up no matter how noisy it was

so you were lucky there

‘ah, where is everyone? iwa told us to meet him here’

mattsun mumbled and you rubbed his arm

‘he’s probably lost in the sea of people like we are, sei’

he hmphed until himari gasped

‘uncle kawa!’

she pointed ahead and there he was, oikawa tooru with his blue san juan jersey

the man towered over a lot of people and his short brown hair jumped with each step

‘mari-chan! toto-chan! mattsun! y/n-chan!’

he shouted and you smiled while mattsun glared at him

‘god, youre still so loud, oikawa’

he complained and tooru was about to complain when mari stomped on her dad’s foot

‘kawa is not loud, papa. he has to shout because it’s so noisy’

she defended and oikawa had a smug look

‘as expected of my darling, goddaughter’

he praised and raised her to his arms

mattsun turned to look at you

‘why couldnt makki have been her godfather instead?’

‘hey!’

offended, oikawa whined but he was cut off with a hand to his head

the only person who would do that was

‘iwa-san!’

you exclaimed and he grinned, going to give you a hug but he noticed the baby on your chest

‘oops. little man on the way, here’

iwa gave you an awkward yet warm hug

‘wheres the others?’

mattsun asked and iwa jutted his head to the side

‘already at the cafe. what took you guys so long?’

mattsun rolled his eyes but grinned

‘its not like y/n just popped out a baby from her va-’

‘issei, say another word and youre going to be in one of your coffins’

you threatened, a smile on your face while fixing your son’s wild curly hair

‘ah, y/n-chan still has her tongue’

the others cheered when you arrived and makki made a beeline towards the hiroto

‘oh! hiro-kun!’

he sang but you placed a finger to your lips

‘oh, hes asleep?’

you nodded

makki hunched over his head and poked the exposed nose

‘hello, hiro-kun’

he whispered

nononononono i cannot be getting soft for hanamaki takahiro right now

hiro sensed that his godfather was near because he shifted and raised one eye open

you softly smiled and gently pulled him out of his carrier

‘wanna go to takahiro?’

not you and issei naming your son after makki because you knew makki probably wouldnt get married and your son is his only chance of fulfilling his dream of having a son named after him

you and others caught up with each other as everyone was now in different parts of the country or even the world

kyo was now a completely different person from before as he was even playing with mari and oikawa was making grabby hands at the other baby

‘makki!!! my turn!!!’

makki glared at him before sighing

‘okay. you go to tooru now, hm?’

he placed the baby bottle down on the table and got up to go over to where tooru sat so he could give away the baby

‘he just ate so hold him like this, oikawa’

he taught oikawa how to hold the baby but oiks pouted

‘you know i stayed with y/n-chan and mattsun when mari was born? so i know how to hold a baby, makki-!’

‘*bleh*’

everyone stopped as hiroto made a burp sound shortly followed with a slightly disgusting sound

tooru froze, hands still on the baby’s bottom and back

his eyes twitched and you and issei huddled to keep your giggles in

‘did he-’

‘yep’

iwa grimaced as he looked over to his friend’s shoulder

the expensive and premium jersey

now stained with baby throw up

‘hey, at least he didnt-’

as kindaichi started, there was a foul smell that engulfed the area

there on tooru’s right hand, was a stinky baby butt

was he

holding

a dirty diaper

right now?

oikawa screamed

a/n: help i have started going to the gym and its so hard but i keep thinking about iwa being a physical trainer and im just like, ‘well, i gotta pretend iwa is here and look good’, please thats the only way im able to push myself during that 20 minutes on the treadmill
