Okay wait
We discussed Jane being able to see threads through the fourth wall so would that mean she’d be able to see the love we hold for her too
Please say yes, she deserves to know how adored she is, even by those she’s never met
OF COURSE SHE CAN!
-x-
"You've learned of the multiverse before. It is an endless array of dimension, some in which we exist, some in which we do not." Wong reached down and tugged up the glittering, rippling mass of threads at his own chest, the colors made from shades that didn't even exist in your reality. The shape of those threads were so thick you could almost see the shape of grins, hear the bark of laughter and eager gasps, letters in a multitude of languages flowing past. "And some... in which we are story."
You rubbed your fingers against your eye, still not quite getting it. "A... a story."
"Yes."
"So these are... what? Threads to... to storytellers?" "Sometimes. But they also connect us to those who hear our stories in other dimensions. Those who enjoy our tales." There was the faintest hint of amusement in his eyes. "The story of Jane Hind, in your case. It seems the tale of the Devil and the Hound has been told somewhere beyond our realm."
You blinked in disbelief at the flowing threads at your chest. Not as many, as thick as Wong's, perhaps, but still... bigger than you expected, burning bright and joyful beneath your fingers. "So it's true. I'm..." "You are a character, yes. And you are not." He shrugged, seemingly unbothered by the revelation that you were, in fact, both real and not.
"So someone's... writing me. What I'm doing right now."
"Potentially. Or you are having a background moment. A moment off camera, perhaps."
"But like... if they get really horny, they could make me-"
"We do our best not to think of that."
"I've fucked Matt a lot." You squinted up at the ceiling, as if you could see the invisible eye watching. "Either this is fanfic, or you, author, are filthy. Then again, maybe you do a fade to black."
"If it helps, think of it less that they are controlling your actions. They are instead a chronicler of your history, creating a documentary. A biography." Wong waved a hand. "Someone in a dimension, somewhere, has managed to tell exactly your story, with a few artistic adjustments here and there. I tell myself this when I am on yet another rewatch of Breaking Bad. Naturally they would show me watching something new."
"But..." You lifted up the threads and shook them. "But these, Wong. What do I-"
"They clearly care about you, and what happens to you. Is that so hard to believe?"
"I am a formerly-murderous, dumpster-diving possum, Wong. I'm still surprised my husband doesn't use a catchpole on me when he finds me feral and scarfing marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms box at two in the morning."
"And if my etsy feed is to be believed, there are plenty of people who adore possums, murderous or not. Possum mugs, possum shirts, pictures of little possums in flower crowns. So be a happy one. Maybe they will put you on a mug, too."
"Ha," you said sarcastically, as he chortled to himself and turned to walk away. "You're hilarious."
"Accept it, Ms. Hind. We're all stories in the end." "You got that from Doctor Who, asshole."
He waved you off, an orange portal appearing for him to step through.
And as he left, you stared down at the threads... and then up.
Over.
Down.
Are they watching right now?
"So... hi." You reached up and scratched your chin thoughtfully. "So, if you're listening and this isn't a fever dream... In truth, I have no idea why you care. I'm a mess, or I feel like one nine times out of ten, which you... likely already know depending on what point of view my story's in and whether my internal monologues are included. But I'm pretty sure Foggy would advocate self-love, so even though I'm still confused... thank you. I'm..." You stared down at the threads. "Thank you. For caring about me and... and Matt, because if you're still here, then I have a feeling you care about him, too. I hope I don't give you too much grief. I hope you know it ends well. We're happy, even if we had to go through a lot of shit to get there."
A realization hit you and you scowled up at the ceiling. "Wait, was that you?"
Silence.
"I know you're up there behind that fourth wall."
A slightly more guilty silence.
"If you're writing this, you could at least give me an apology. One for me and all the people who care. You put them through hell too, making them read all that angst after the building collapse. What the fuck is wrong with you? I deserve compensation for my-"
You suddenly noticed a box of chocolates on the nearby dresser, a box of chocolates that very much hadn't been there before.
"Chocolate? Really?" You crossed your arms. "After what Matt and me went through, we deserve better. Something fun."
A long, thin piece of plastic connected to a series of leather straps suddenly fell from the ceiling.
"Very funny."
Your phone rang, tinkling notes chosen for the Devil.
"Seriously?"
Amused silence.
"Fine. Be that way. But you better show them happy shit after this. They deserve it, and so do me and Matt."
And somehow, the silence felt... agreeable and fond after that, and you reached down one last time to brush against the little bundle of strange new threads at your chest, a strange warmth filling you that almost made your chest hitch a little. There was... almost something a little reassuring about knowing you had people rooting for you and Matt, and hopefully for all your other friends, too.
"Me and all of you, ride or die," you whispered. "Let's do this."

dw rewatch - takes on "the end of the world"
companion watch:
"the artic desert" hits different lol
something something bella vs the witch
rose's fear attack when she finds heres lf in the alien situation. she's genuinely terrified! it's a good beat, man. more than that, it's a rare beat. I get a lot of people don't vibe with it and prefer the more "buffy-esque approach, since it's "more to the point" and gets you larger than life figures… but personally I much prefer it when scifi/fantasy scenarios are portrayed as the terrifying reality they would be. also this: "ROSE: I just hitched a ride with a man. I don't even know who he is. He's a complete stranger"
war of the world vibes with the little robot fellas. /unintentional parallel to how cassandra dies and how the aliens in that book die?
"it gets inside and changes my mind, and you didnt even ask" "i didnt think about it like that" it's interesting that rose question this tbh
"five billion years in the future, my mum's dead" "bundle of laughs you are" /god i love this exchange. nine's constant attempt to downplay ANY surfacing of Real Emotions. rose's naivety in contemplating for the first time in her life that oh yeah, people die. the first statement of the "everything dies, everything ends" theme that will be woven throughout all the rtd era.
ngl i wish rose Did More in the plot of this episode, in terms of actually solving the crisis, feels like a stepdown after Rose giving her the most climatic moment... that said she does get a lot of great quibs in this one: "you two go pollinate and i'll go meet the family"/ "and i want you home by midnight!"/ "its better to die than to live like you, a bitchy trampoline" / "youre just lipstick and skin"
she's really similar to nine/ten in that aspect. they both have that "humor as defense mechanism" thing
blorbos:
the way nine and rose Lean in those stairs…. im Looking respectfully and im Thinking pure thoughts. (honestly ppl talk a lot about ten and rose's body language in s2 but there was A Lot going on with nine and rose as early as episode 1)
"all that counts is here and now" can't tell if zen mindfulness or a desperate defense mechanism to cope with ptsd.
first thing rose does is call her mum ): - Cassandra "I'm too young" vs Ten's "I was going to do so much more"...(ben wyatt voice) it's about the hypocrisy (oh having written this note before rewatching new earth... put a pin on that!)
timeless child retroactive continuity bonus: perhaps cassandra as "the last human" (not really a "human") paralleling "the last timelord" (not really a "timelord)? - "JABE: And what about your ancestry, Doctor? Perhaps you could tell a story or two. Perhaps a man only enjoys trouble when there's nothing else left". well post-s13 they're gonna enjoy themselves a lot more lol - there's something very anti-entropy about how the child gets to regenerate indefinitely without "losing" its essence and its dna integrity (vs cassandra's "flatness", the child gains more and more complexity as time passes).
colonialism/hegemony: - NINE: "mind you, when I say "the great and the good" what I mean is the rich." / "Five billion years and it still comes down to money" / this maybe be harsh,,, honestly i hate to say but doctor who sometimes really is just typical neolib """anti-capitalist""" fiction. - in the sense that it pretends to be anti-capitalist, but really is just capitalist realist. it's writers can imagine 203223 scenarios of the earth dying but they cannot conceive of a post-capitalist world, a classless society or simply a world without taxes. Of course you could say "this is so these stories are relatable" but even in their relatedness, there's rarely a portrayal of the anti-capitalist struggle (rather than just generic star wars-style, ideology-less "rebellions).- (that said, obligatory "I'm not a politics robot" disclaimer... "Do you think it's cheap, looking like this? Flatness costs a fortune." is an iconic retort lol) - there's also a kind of subtle Myth Of The Linear Progress Of History thing going on with cassandra being framed as someone who "stayed behind" and has not embraced this analogue to our "Color Blind Post Racial Society" which has "Obviously" outgrown prejudice and notions of racial purity. - "good thing i didn't take you to the deep south" / "you were to busy making cheap shots about the deep south" // parallels to-> "who do you think makes your clothes?" "Is that why you travel 'round with a human at your side? It's not so you can show them the wonders of the universe, it's so you can take cheap shots?" "sorry" . actually no rtd i dont think these are chepashots at all lol they are VERY relevant shots!! it's very transparent how the writers are kind of meek about making these *truly* transgressive points, but it's much easier to have the doctor argue that rose having a donor card is "a different morality"... again one is truly transgressive, the other is fun-but-no-challenging-of-the-hegemony scifi "dilemma". - the "quick word with Michael Jackson" line is doing A Lot but idek how to even begin to entangle it lol it's very 00s, for sure. - for once, a self aware one: "People have died, Cassandra. You murdered them." / "It depends on your definition of people, and that's enough of a technicality to keep your lawyers dizzy for centuries"
themes: - everything has its time and everything ends check your bingo cards. racial purity vs mixing vs 'progress'. class. life cycles. gut instinct (rose jumping the gun to empatise w/ the doc + nine going through the fans + rose reaction to the alien parade). destruction as tourism, as "artistic event" (an uncomfortable parallel to how this is what our heroes will be doing for the next 10+ seasons). - this episode does a bit of a u-turn on the previous (And the next) on its constant questioning of the intrinsic "meaning" of a physical body. in this, cassandra's continuous operations are framed as a kind of "lost of an essence". also the "surface" of her thinking as metaphor for her missing the "essence" of what it means to be human (biologically but more fundamentally, ethically).
Live Fast Die Young / YOLO / everyone deserves to be mourned. everyone deserves a dignified death. thread carefully and cherish life, because it will all be gone. our time is limited and short and it is because it is short that it means something. Life only means anything because there's Death.
ecology and environmentalism. "there are many species in that planet. mankind is only one / I'm a direct descendant of the tropical rainforest." obsessed with it. wish they brought back the rainforest.

Dr Who: Fires of Pompeii (a rewatch)
Not sure about this, it was a mixed bag this time round. The plot stuff is mostly dull but it does kick off a bit once stuff start exploding. The bit where the Doctor realises he’s gonna have to kill everyone to save everyone else was good angst, and then Donna ascends to Epic-Tier Companionhood by doing the death with him, and hand-porn ensues. I think this episode is where it is because this is Huge Big Deal in terms of Donna being the one who shares the burden of guilt, and they can bond over their trauma. I can’t see this unfolding with the other two, I feel like Rose and Martha would be sent away if possible and otherwise would certainly not be allowed to help the Doctor kill a bunch of people.
Tumblr media
Rose was Nine’s proof-of-innocence and that was less of a thing with Ten but I feel like her and Martha are a bit too seen-as-pure-innocents which actually that’s a bit fucked up but apparently Donna is worldly enough to share the responsibillity for 20000 deaths. IDK how to feel about that I mean it works on many levels it’s just a bit icky when you realise Rose and Martha would never have been in that position. Their job would be to comfort and forgive the Doctor, not to help him do the terrible thing that needs done.
Tumblr media
And then Donna is also the one who cries because other people are suffering, and I appreciate that we get some proper unattractive crying here not just your usual TV crying-but-pretty, it’s full-on and helps sell that Donna is super upset. This being one of the big differences between Ten and Donna -- she cries and he looks a bit sad but the tears stay unshed.
Tumblr media
So anywho she convinces him to go back to Pompeii and save the main characters from the Cambridge Latin Course (indirectly leading to Clara Oswald’s death some years later, oh noes) and wow this is a traumatic first date for the Doctor and Donna. Again it’s a pressure from outside that bonds them together, but there’s still some good conflict between them. Donna will totes help you save the world in a horrible angsty way, but you have to do one kind thing to balance it a wee bit. She’s his conscience and my bias is showing here but I think she’s better at it than his previous companions, like I don’t think Rose or Martha would have been able to stand their ground on demanding that someone gets saved. Also yeah she helped press the button so she does very much have a say in what goes down afterwards.
Tumblr media
So I dunno how I’d rate this, I was a bit bored by some bits (that “plot” thing that they insist on putting into these stories for some reason) but the angsty bits are good and it finally feels like Team TARDIS is comprised of actual grown ups (and no just on her side, he seems a bit more mature as well somehow -- fear of her not taking his shit?) and that’s quite nice.
I think I shall put my thoughts on their shippiness in a different post, because my arm hurts a bit from typing all this stuff. Ow.

They say that nothing compares to the wrath of a woman scorned.
Well, they hadn't met Y/n yet.
"Are you INSANE?"
Leonard "Bones" McCoy was a great doctor, and had long since been an even better friend to recently made Captain James T Kirk of the Enterprise. With all the titles and fancy stuff aside, Bones knew a thing or two about fear. He had watched everything taken from him when his wife, many years, divorced him and drained him of every penny she could. He had faced a threat from the future most recently who's goal was to wipe the solar system of any species other than his own. He had watched his long time friend almost die. A lot. Like, A LOT. So many times it wasn't even funny and he had almost strangled the man himself when everything settled again. He had faced death himself once or twice though and in the end everyone was safe so he let it be. The point was, he had faced and conquered fear. He should be able to handle it.
Watching Y/n storm up to him filled him with more fear than he had faced looking at even Death itself.
Y/n was stern faced and tense. "Hey there," Bones greeted, ready to get lectured.
Instead of yelling, Y/n did something Bones didn't expect. He took Bones in his arms, hugging him desperately. Bones felt his surprise fade and embarrassment take over. Not because he was one of those people who didn't believe in affection between friends or men, but because he had a gigantic crush on Y/n and the feeling of the man holding him made him feel like a teenager again. He was an idiot, honestly. Good god man, he was a grown adult!
Yet, when Y/n held him at arm's length, Bones was blushing. "You didn't even call me when you got back. I had to hear about your little adventure from the news! From Jim of all people!"
Bones flinched. He had been busy since he'd gotten back. It had only been a few days and there had been so much going on... He didn't think it would have upset Y/n this much. The men were friends, having met a while back through Bones' now ex wife actually. Before he was married to her, Y/n had been a friend of a friend to her. When they'd gotten divorced, Y/n was there for him. Ever since they'd stayed friends, but as time passed Bones has recognized his feelings for Y/n had been... different. Especially when he became friends with Jim, he realized that how he felt wasn't normal for two close friends. He'd never had the confidence to take a shot and as Y/n tried his hand with other women, Bones wrote it off and assumed his chanced were kaput.
The look in Y/n's eyes right now though spoke of panic. Care much more than just one friend to another. It was moments like this that let Bones dream. He tried to put his own feelings down. Y/n didn't have a lot of friends or family. Bones was one of the few people he still had left after a hard life that had left him almost entirely alone. Of course he'd be worried about losing one of those people.
"I'm sorry," he sighed. "It's just been super busy-"
Y/n scoffed and rolled his eyes, cutting the other man off. "I hear you're allowed calls every once in a while." Bones gave him a confused look. "On the Enterprise, Bones! Come on- you're going back out there and if you're not going to tell me shit, then I'm going to demand you set up a call system so that every time you land you have me on the line dialing. I want it to be habit, do you understand?"
Bones couldn't hold back a smile. He tried to play it off as teasing, but his whole body felt warmer. "Oh come on, I'll be fine." His voice was soft.
"You better be." Y/n sighed, seeming to have calmed down. "Look, I just- I get it. Just let me know you're okay next time before I hear the news and go full panic mode, okay?"
Scoffing softly, Bones offered a, "Okay, mom."
Y/n smiled and the world got a little brighter. "You're an idiot." Then he turned and began to walk away. Bones watched, his smile coming in full steam now that he was alone.
Except... he wasn't. It was that second he remembered that there were other people in the Med Bay at that moment. Nurses mostly, but patients too. Every single pair of eyes was staring at him. All of them were amused and accusing. Knowing. Playful. He hardened immediately, scowling back at them. "Okay show's over, get back to work." He turned away and everyone smiled.
Idiots indeed.
-
"Are you insane?" This time it came from Bones and Y/n was on the receiving end.
Y/n wasn't going to take the lecture like Bones had though. "If you're going to be facing death all the damn time, I might as well be here to watch your back. I can't stand staying at home while y-" he cut off, stalling a second as his brain realigned. "As my two closest friends set off into the great space and throw their lives around like they mean nothing!"
Bones grunted in frustration. "Y/n, you're working as a mechanic."
"A damn good one too!" Y/n threw back. "I'm the King of repairs, and it seems you guys need someone like that on deck. You have the greatest captain, the best second in command-"
"A stretch," Bones grumbled.
"Amazing pilots and a mechanical genius who advanced beaming an insane amount. But even geniuses need help, and while he's a great mind, I'm great with my hands." Y/n rose said appendages, wiggling his fingers. "Plus it doesn't matter. Scotty was more than happy to have me on board and pushed for it himself. Went straight tot he Captain and everything. Jim was more than happy to have me aboard. That's it. I'm coming and you can't stop me."
A long, soft sigh escaped Bones then. "Fine, but if you get ANY injuries, you come to me directly do you understand? This stuff is dangerous."
Just then Y/n got a huge, shit eating grin on his face. "I was planning to, Doctor." Something about how he looked when he said it made Bones both nervous and excited. When they parted ways, Bones tried to not let the moment of seclusion allow his mind to wander too much.
-
"I just burned my hand," Y/n huffed impatiently. "Scotty needs me back, Bones. Just bandage it or something."
Bones tugged Y/n's hand closer by the wrist, glaring at him. "You're being too careless! My god Y/n sit still! You're whinier than Jim." That got Y/n to be quiet. Which in turn made Bones struggle not to laugh.  After all, who would want to be compared to Jim Kirk in whininess? Even though he really didn't complain all that often, Y/n and Bones had a running joke that he was secretly a nine year old girl. Simply because it bothered him.
In the moment of silence, Y/n got the opportunity to really look at Bones. He watched quietly as Bones carefully applied an oily cream that made the stinging pain go away. It was soothing and cold; a huge relief. The lapse of pain allowed him to take a second to admire the features of the man tending to him. The smile lines that were hidden because he liked to be grumpy and sassy, but which showed every time he even cracked the tiniest of smiles or smirks. The deep color of his brown eyes and how the concentrated with unbreakable focus. The line of his jaw, hard as his teeth locked together. He had a small scar above his left eyebrow. It was something he'd never seen before. Perhaps he'd gotten it more recently... The curve of his nose drew his eyes straight to his lips.
Only then did Bones finish, of course, and as he looked over Y/n tried to look casual and as if he hadn't been checking Bones out. Which he most definitely had been. "Will that be all, Doc?"
Rolling his eyes, Bones let Y/n's hand fall. "For now. Be more careful."
Y/n hopped down from the bed, grinning widely. "But then what excuse would I have to visit you?" He laughed afterward to play it off as a joke, but there was a false tone to it. A truth in his words overcame the chuckle, so Y/n headed out quickly. Unfortunately it left a rather speechless Bones alone before he could come up with something to reply, and a bunch of smirking nurses all looking at each other with looks that spelled trouble.
-
When Y/n came in limping, Bones thought it would be for something more real than tripping and falling down stairs. The injury had seemed legitimate until only a few hours later Y/n was spick and span- even though Bones hadn't done more than ice it for ten minutes.
When Y/n had come holding his arm and wincing every time someone touched it, Bones was there dutifully even though it was only from slamming it in a door. He wrapped it up and gave Y/n something to help the healing and pain. In a few days he was perfectly fine, even though Bones had expected a few weeks of soreness at the very least.
It got only more ridiculous from there. From smashed fingers and headaches and sore throats and itchy eyes and sore muscles, Y/n was coming into the Med Bay for help from Bones once every few days. It was a record. Even when there was nothing going on, Y/n found increasingly creative ways to get hurt and end up needing some kind of help and attention. Bones took the opportunity with only minimal griping about Y/n's carelessness. To be fair, he was probably trying very hard to enjoy Y/n's company rather than focus on the fact that Y/n was rarely if ever sick and had a habit of being very careful. In severe situations, he was always the one with the least amount of damage. It seemed that he was prone for small accidents and that his luck magically returned every time it counted. Not that anyone was complaining, but it was rather odd.
Or, more fittingly, obvious. Everyone but Bones was seeing right through Y/n. One day the nurses finally decided to intervene.
Nurse Avery began the casual prodding. "I'm sorry that Dr. McCoy wasn't available to help you today."
"It's fine," Y/n dismissed, even though he was obviously very disappointed.
Avery nodded. "You two seem to be very close," she continued. This time her overly casual tone was overlapped with a pointed look, but both only made Y/n confused.
"Well, we've been friends for years. Even before he and Jim were," Y/n offered.
The nurse nodded her head, but her smirk said that she knew something. Or had assumed something. Or that what Y/n had said fed some sort of theory maybe? Y/n wasn't sure. "And how many years have you been clumsy?"
That made Y/n nervous. It was an odd question to ask, unless they knew the real reason he was in here so often. But surely that wasn't possible. "What do you mean?"
"You know exactly what she means," Another nurse, Simon, teased. He rolled his eyes, an amused smile curving his parted lips. "If your blush had anything to say."
Nurse Amy giggled. They were both doing other things but it seemed their attention was on the conversation. Even Nurse Lyro spoke to them now as they treated a patient. "We never see you in here after a big battle. And we all know that you're one of very few that is careful enough not to get hurt during catastrophes, which is odd since you're normally in the middle of it and not hiding like the others."
Y/n's frown wiped the smiles off their faces. "It's because I'm a coward." The nurses exchanged looks with each other. They hadn't meant to upset him. "Are you done?" He looked up at Avery. "With my hand?"
"Yeah," she answered softly. Her own fingers had stilled, resting on top of and below his hand. It had been mostly to keep him in place, but now she let it drop. "Do you-?"
"Thank you for your help." Y/n stood off the table, offering the girl a small smile before leaving the Med Bay. Looks were exchanged between the nurses again.
What had that been about?
-
"Dr. McCoy?" Bones looked over to see Nurse Lyro. They continued when he looked over, giving them his attention. "Have you seen Y/n recently?"
Bones pursed his lips in a frown. "I haven't. Why?"
Lyro shrugged. "Well Avery tended his hand a few weeks ago and we haven't seen him in the Med Bay since, not even for a check up."
It had been three and a half weeks to be precise, and Bones was worried. After seeing Y/n every three or four days, Bones had come into a routine of leaving a looseness in his schedule that would allow him time to tend Y/n. Only a few times did something unpredictable interfere with it which is when the nurses usually took over like last time. But in the last almost month, Y/n hadn't been by even once. Bones saw him occasionally outside of work, but otherwise Y/n made him scarce and the doctor would be lying if he said he didn't miss his friend.
"I'll have to hunt him down once I'm off my shift and make sure he's taking care of himself." Bones gave a short laugh then. "He's probably focused on some project or something. We'll have him back in here in a bit."
Lyro grabbed Bones' shoulder to stop him from leaving. "Last time he was here, we were talking and he said something about being a coward. It seemed to upset him..." They sighed. "I just wanted to make sure our conversation wasn't what upset him."
That seemed to confuse Bones. "A coward?" Lyro shrugged. "Huh. Okay." They shared nods and then parted ways. Right when Bones' shift left, he headed straight for Y/n's room. He knocked on the door a few times before Y/n answered. When he did, the man seemed to be battling between happiness and hurt. It didn't make sense. "Hey Y/n."
"Hi." Y/n leaned against his door. "Do you... want to come in?"
"Sure yeah I'd like that." Y/n moved to open his door more and Bones came inside. When the door closed, Bones turned back so they faced each other. "The nurses wanted me to check on your burn. You haven't been by in a while."
Y/n showed his hand. It looked fine, if only minorly scarred. "It healed nicely. Everyone in the Med Bay is pretty great. It's awesome."
Bones nodded. "I'm glad to hear."
There was a long silence. "Is that all you wanted to say?"
"Why did you say you were a coward?" It sort of slipped out, far from graceful. "You're always right there by Jim and Spock. You've even stepped in a few times for me, and no matter how crazy something is, you're always willing to do it if it saves someone. How could you think you're a coward?"
Y/n sighed, rubbing his eyes. "Jim is the brave one. He's always risking himself and protecting everyone. He's got all of our backs and cares a lot about what's right. Then there's Spock, and despite how much he tries to seem emotionless so he can appear in control, it's only because he's so smart that he hasn't gotten himself killed from how much he puts himself on the line to protect others. And you... Well, they'd both be super dead without you. Not just how great of a doctor you are either, but because you balance Jim's recklessness and Spock's focus on what's logical and such. You guys are like this unbreakable triangle of perfection where you all watch each other's back and without even one of you the other two would fail. I just... hide behind it. I do what I'm told and hide when I can. Do you know how many times each of your has stepped in when I was too scared to do it? How many times you guys have almost died because I hesitated or sat back or stopped functioning because I'm terrible in high stress situations? Scotty is the one who does all the important stuff. I just help him when he needs me to.He could probably do it without me, honestly. I just feel like the extra piece of an already completed puzzle."
It all came out soft and empty. Defeated. Bones rolled his eyes- he wasn't having any of this. "Do you know how many times Scotty has praised Jim for adding you to his team? You know a lot more about mechanics than he does, even though he's really smart about it. I've CAUGHT him just hitting things to get them to work. You might take more time and effort, but when you fix something it lasts longer than when Scotty does- even though he is better in a high stress situation or whatever." Bones scoffed. "If we're being real, no one is actually GOOD in those situations, some are just better than others. And even then, you know how many times Jim or Spock or I have had to clean up the messes of the other? You say we're like a perfect whatever, but half the time I want to strangle both of them and they each other. It's chaotic and we're all trying our best and because of you, we're doing a LOT better than we would be."
Y/n crossed his arms over his chest. "Do you know why I come by the Med Bay so often?"
"Why?" Bones asked, his tone tired as he expected some new reason why he was pathetic. Perhaps it was that he was too lazy to be careful, or that he was clumsy or easily distracted. Bones had arguments for all of those things.
Unfortunately that's not what Y/n said. "Because I'm in love with you." Bones was stunned into silence, processing what had just been told to him. "I only joined the crew because I hated being away from you. I hate flying and I hate space and confrontation makes me anxious. I'm terrible in combat and even worse at social interactions. I'm awkward and quiet and bad at carrying conversation, so instead of just asking you on a date like a normal person I joined the one place I didn't go, even though I graduated school for it. Do you know why I left?"
"No," Bones answered quietly.
"I was sixteen when I joined my very first crew. I was the head mechanic until one thing went wrong and I almost stranded the whole ship. In space. A very long time from help. Everyone said that I had taken a calculated risk in the face of a surprise attack from a planet that was supposed to be hosting us for a peace conference. I saved everyone or whatever." Y/n shook his head. "I used to be a prodigy. One of the youngest mechanics ever to join Star Fleet. And good at my job too. But I was too... I took too many risks. They rationalized that I was effective, but when I left no one asked about it."
Bones tried to remember any news about Y/n. Anything before he'd joined the Enterprise. "Why don't I know about any of this?"
Y/n chuckled darkly. "Because I was too impulsive and hard to control. I was bad with authority and didn't take anything seriously. Until it was almost too late. I was too young, and they'd taken a risk with letting me go to school and test- let alone join an actual ship. I almost got everyone killed because they took a chance. A chance they repeat, until Chekov. But that was years later and he was both dedicated and intelligent. Focused, and very aware if how important his job was. With me, they'd made a mistake, and they weren't about to let everyone know that."
"Is that why you're always so reserved?" Bones asked.
Nodding, Y/n leaned against the wall behind him. "My ego took a huge hit that day. I still haven;t really recovered." He scoffed at himself. "Now I can't even talk to you. We just hang out occasionally and you talk about your life and I listen. I support everyone, quietly. I can't even ask you out when I see you every other day or something. I just get distracted while I'm working then come to you with my newest injury and then I run away without ever saying anything with my tail between my legs. Like I'm eleven and afraid of cooties. It's pathetic."
Bones was still having a hard time wrapping his mind around this. "And why are you telling me now?"
"Well it's time I was honest. You've asked about my past loads of times, and it's not fair to keep bothering you without telling you why I'm always hovering. For once in my life I'm being both open AND level headed. So that you can see how pathetic I am and reject me officially so we can both move on."
"You're an idiot," Bones spat.
"Well yeah that's what I'm-" But he didn't finish that, because Bones grabbed his face and pulled him into a kiss, cutting him off. Y/n tensed but as Bones kept kissing him, he had no choice but to melt into him. What was he going to do? Push the other man away? I think the fuck not.
The kiss was earnest. Words that couldn't be found. Something that could only be explained in this way. Bones didn't give a single shit what Y/n had done in his past, or what he thought of himself now. To Bones, Y/n was... amazing, for some reason.
They parted, but Bones held onto him. "My best friend is James T Kirk and you think that you been a free spirit when you were sixteen was going to scare me away?"
Y/n did laugh at that. "You're not in love with Kirk though. You're just friends."
"But I am in love with you," Bones sassed rather firmly. "Got that?"
For a second, all of Y/n's insecurities slipped away from him, and he grinned. "Yeah. Got it."
"Good," Bones grumbled. Then he kissed him again and they got lost each other. The night had only just begun, and on the high of finally releasing all the pent up emotions they'd both been scrambling to keep under control, they finally took the opportunity to let it all go and make up for lost time. And boy did they.

grunge rewatches Doctor Who
01x01 "Rose"
I miss low-budget Who. now it's all lens flares and explosions
that is the most 2005 haircut I have ever seen
run
Christopher Eccleston was good
definitely the right choice to bring back the series, also the right choice to only do one season
I miss the simple sonic screwdriver
oh Jackie...
Doctor What
Rose is not playing your games, sir
oh man these graphics
plastic Mickey is uh something
TARDIS!!
lots of planets have a north
is Jackie Tyler the opposite of Donna Noble (always accidentally in the thick of it vs completely oblivious to everything)
wow Mickey really is terrible isn't he?
I would jump in that TARDIS in a nanosecond how do you even consider turning that down?
especially with Jodie Whittaker my beloved at the helm
01x02 "The End of the World"
oh hey it's the fob watch!
what is the date system in the year 5 Billion?
flirting with a tree. sometimes I forget Julian Bashir is not the only horny alien fucker
FACE OF BOE
the iPod!!
why are you telling this to the plumber?
I know I said I'd jump in the TARDIS in a nanosecond but those are things you should have considered before getting in, Rose
the Doctor has a point with the Deep South comment
diversity win! your racist flesh trampoline is trans!
let us mourn her with a traditional ballad *plays Britney Spears- Toxic* genuinely one of the best moments of the entire show, classic & new
why does the Sun Filter Descending warning sound like the fucking drive through at the Dairy Queen?
fyi, Cassandra, there's an e on the end of "j'accuse" so you pronounce the "s"
honestly, the British grasp of the French language just astonishes me (most of this rage comes from Escape to the Country and Great British Bake Off)
you...you need to be clever to turn a dial in the opposite direction? ok doctor
I think I had that Rimmel mascara in high school
01x03 "The Unquiet Dead"
ah fuck. zombies. I really hate zombies. I have internalized kinemortophobia
(bc I myself am a zombie, in case the joke wasn't clear)
(yes I had to look up the word for a fear of zombies)
"an error has occurred please try again" Crave really trying to protect me from myself
oh there we go
no, Crave, I refuse to skip the best New Who intro there ever was
Gwyneth my beloved
"you look beautiful considering you're human" excuse me sir who was calling out Rose on her racism just one episode ago?
but god dang Billie Piper in a Victorian dress
the skin on my neck is crawling right now but I'm gonna power through
I'm gonna power through all the zombie episodes
what the Shakespeare is going on? heh
ohhhhhh noooooo not the creepy hissing-whispering bullshit no please no
angry Billie Piper in a Victorian dress with a cane? that's just cruel
officially a Rose/Gwyneth stan over here
Bad Wolf!
STOP WITH THE CREEPY WHISPERY CHILDREN'S VOICES I BEG OF YOU
"time isn't a straight line, it can be twisted into any shape" vs "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" sums up the difference between Nine and Ten perfectly
ok one more episode for this post (but I will probably keep making these)
01x04 "Aliens of London"/ 01x05 "World War Three"
oh for fuck's sake it's the slitheen
I mean this was first and foremost a children's show of course they're gonna have fart joke aliens
as someone who has recurring nightmares about her parents thinking she's gone missing (despite being active on social media and tagging my location in posts) & declaring her dead after a relatively short period of time, this is literally one of my worst fears. top 5 easily
more Bad Wolf!
I know this was 2005 but "you're so gay" as an insult in an episode written by a gay man who was also the show runner and therefore had the power to, you know, cut that line (or not even write it in the first place), is...odd?
HARRIET JONES
wow I really hate Mickey
like, I'm not missing the implications of a working class black man accused of murdering a pretty white woman and that is absolutely unfair
but seriously what a useless man-child
another diversity win! your genocidal fart monster is a bi/pan philanderer!
(ok so they don't indicate the gender of the "young farmer" he was having an affair with but I'm extrapolating bc they said "a mistress and a young farmer" instead of "two mistresses")
I do appreciate when shows are quietly queer but we also need good, solid, obvious, positive representation and we're not there yet
these graphics are killing me
ah fuck it's a two-parter
fine
I'll watch part 2
sorry this post is so long
(not sorry enough to put it under a cut tho)
"electricity slurping" is not a caption I expected to see but ok
yes, Mickey your basic Nokia is gonna get a really good pic of that fart monster, good work
ok that's more the fault of 2005 technology than Mickey's and it's better than nothing
I just really dislike Mickey
why were those steel barricades installed in 1991?
what was happening in 1991 that would necessitate that installation?
wouldn't it make more sense to have them installed sometime during the Cold War instead of right after it ended?
I know it was Uncertain Times after the Soviet Union collapsed, but they certainly weren't anywhere near as much of a threat in 1991 as they were in, say, 1962
Harriet Jones using her Karen energy for good
oh actually that's a pretty good picture for a 2005 Nokia
Raxacoricofallapatorius!
...why is the Prime Minister's desk covered in skittles?
voicemail dooms us all. does it ever
Harriet Jones is a tory isn't she?
that's all for this round of grunge rewatches doctor who (I got distracted by reddit around the voicemail line).

Note
dw ask game 1-36 and 38-100 DON'T ANSWER NUMBER 37 I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT CRYING
DaThanks, anon who is probably @truestoriesaboutme!
CHILDHOOD
1. Did you like DW as a child?
Depends. What do you consider a child? I saw Doctor Who for the first time when I was 16 or 17. Does that count? Let’s say that it does. I did enjoy it.
2. Your age at the time of the revival?
16.
3. First DW episode you ever saw?
An Unearthly Child. I wanted to watch it all in order! Still do! My first New Who episode was “Blink,” as forced upon me by @raisegrate. I did enjoy it.
4. Did you have any of the toys?
I didn’t at the time, but I do now. I have a couple of screwdrivers, a Fourth Doctor, an Ice Warrior, and not-quite-Legos of Doctors 1-11. (-WD)
5. Which DW character did you play on the playground?
N/A.
6. Monster(s) that scared you most as a child?
N/A. Nothing scares me.
7. Joke/story you didn’t get as a kid?
N/A. I get all jokes/stories.
8. DW opinion that has changed since you were a kid?
That the only way to watch it was from the very beginning. I eventually gave in and watched New Who before finishing Classic Who.
9. Who introduced you to DW?
Pretty sure I heard about it initially on a forum I went to called The Douglas Adams Continuum. That’s when I started watching the First Doctor. Again, @raisegrate showed me my first New Who. Eventually, I started watching New Who in its entirety with @catastrofries and they started watching Classic Who with me for @rassilonwatchathon.
10. Did you like Sarah Jane Adventures as a child?
Didn’t even know it existed as a child. But I liked it as an adult.
Read more under the cut. There’s a lot!
DOCTOR
11. Who is your Doctor?
One. He’s the first I saw and I’ve went through some of his more than once, due to the podcast, so he has a special place in my heart.
12. Your favourite Doctor?
It varies depending on the day. I quite like Two, Eleven, and Twelve, though.
13. Least favourite Doctor?
Possibly 5 or 13? More because they don’t get a whole lot to do, than them being bad.
14. Best regeneration?
Technically speaking, there’s something about that first one that is still so good. Emotionally speaking, Two’s regeneration is terrifying and I quite like Twelve’s speech before regenerating.
15. Do you like “Doctor-Lite” episodes?
Yeah! They’re all pretty good! Even “Love and Monsters!” Yeah, I said it! (The end is bad, but the rest is good.)
16. Who is the most human Doctor?
One calls himself human a handful of times. Does that count? If not, definitely Five. He seems the most like a regular guy in a weird situation out of all of them.
17. Best multi-Doctor story?
The Day of the Doctor, for sure.
18. Best Doctor monologue?
Eleven’s speech to young Amy in “The Big Bang.” That episode is just solid all around.
19. What do you think TenToo/MetaCrisis Doctor is doing now?
He’s definitely fucked off somewhere and abandoned Rose. He runs a cat cafe that is definitely a front for something, but no one can quite figure out what.
20. Best Doctor/companion pairing?
One/Barbara, Two/Jamie, Three/Jo, Four/Leela, Five/Tegan, (haven’t seen enough of Six, any of Seven, and I honestly don’t remember the companion for Eight), Nine/Rose (that’s the only option!), Ten/Donna, Eleven/Amy-Rory, Twelve/Clara, Ruth/Thirteen.
COMPANIONS
21. Favourite companion?
Classic Who: This is hard. Jamie? Sarah Jane? Leela? New Who: Donna Noble.
22. Favourite secondary companion?
Not sure what this means exactly... My second favorite? If so, I gave three for favorite Classic Who, so one of them. New Who: Rory.
23. Least favourite companion?
Classic: Ben Jackson or Peri. New: Ryan.
24. Best TARDIS Team?
Classic: Two, Jamie, and Zoe. New: Eleven, Amy, and Rory.
25. Most underrated companion?
I love Steven Taylor. I feel like he doesn’t get mentioned enough.
26. Most overrated companion?
Probably gonna get some hate for this, but Romana II. She’s good and I like her, but I was expecting a lot more. I honestly prefer Romana I.
27. Favourite companion’s family?
I love Rory’s dad.
28. Who should have been a companion but wasn’t?
Kamelion. AM I RIGHT? But seriously, Amelia Rumford from “The Stones of Blood.”
29. Favourite (canon or non-canon) DW universe relationship?
Amy/Rory.
30. Who did you not used to like, but really like now?
I hated Tegan when she first came on, but now I love her.
EPISODES
31. Favourite episode ever?
“Heaven Sent.”
32. Least favourite episode?
“Time-Flight” gave me a literal headache.
33. Which episodes do you skip?
NONE. Of course, I’ve not done any rewatches. YET.
34. Best two-parter?
“The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances” are the first New Who episodes that fully sold me on the show.
35. Historical, present day or futuristic episodes?
Give me the future and make it weird!
36. Episode that will always make you smile?
“The Myth Makers.”
37 HAS BEEN REDACTED.
38. Best run of episodes?
“Vincent and the Doctor” through “Day of the Moon” is pretty solid.
39. Best cliffhanger?
“Vengeance on Varos.” Hands fucking down.
40. Favourite Christmas special?
The answer to question 37. “A Christmas Carol.”
SERIES
41. Classic Who or New Who?
Yes please! (Though New Who will take this a little just because the pace is generally a lot better.)
42. Favourite series?
I’m not sure about Classic (I have a harder time thinking of them as different series), but New is definitely 5.
43. Least favourite series?
11.
44. Which series do you skip?
See 33.
45. Favourite series opening?
“The Eleventh Hour.” It’s just a lot of fun.
46. Favourite series finale?
“The Big Bang.” IT’S A GOOD SERIES.
47. Best series arc?
So I don’t sound repetitive and say Series 5 again, Clara’s arc in her last season is great.
48. Thoughts on series 11/12?
I find it largely boring and not well-written. Though there are some things I like! I love Ruth a bunch.
49. How much of Classic Who have you seen?
I’ve seen from “An Unearthly Child” to “The Two Doctors.” And the movie.
50. Who should have had another series?
Doctor: Nine. Or Eight. Or Ruth. Companion: Kamelion, but done better.
MONSTERS
51. Favourite monster/villain?
I love them Fuzzy Chicken Nuggets. (The Yeti.)
52. Most creative monster?
The Silence are an interesting concept.
53. Monster(s) that scares you most?
OAK AND QUILL from “Fury From the Deep.” Fuck those guys.
54. Monster you think is too easy to defeat?
I hate power level questions. Next.
55. Least favourite monster/villain?
I get really tired of the Daleks sometimes, y’all.
56. Monster you want to return?
Chumblies or quarks.
57. In your opinion, what makes a monster good?
The writing. You can do great things with most of them. Even the ones you dislike. Like, I hate the farting aliens, but they are occasionally used well.
58. Daleks, Cybermen or Weeping Angels?
If I had to pick, I’d say... Cybermen. Daleks are very samey and loud. Weeping Angels get less interesting every time they are used. But there’s a human element to the Cybermen that, when utilized, can be very effective and unsettling.
59. Best Dalek story?
The one where Two rides around on ones he made nice.
60. Best one time villain/monster?
I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is in “Midnight.”
ADDITIONAL MATERIAL
61. Torchwood or Sarah Jane Adventures?
SJA is more consistent, but the highs of Torchwood are higher.
62. Favourite Torchwood Team member?
Owen. But like... not season one Owen.
63. Which Torchwood death made you saddest?
See 62.
64. Do you rewatch COE or MD?
I haven’t rewatched anything yet. But I would rewatch COE before MD.
65. Favourite SJA Team member?
Clyde.
66. Mr Smith or K-9?
Mr. Smith is way more interesting. He had a villain arc!
67. Maria or Rani?
Rani.
68. Do you read the comics/novels or listen to Big Finish?
Some. I’m doing them as Patreon bonus episodes for @rassilonwatchathon. I haven’t done much though.
69. If you do, your favourite additional stories?
“The Chimes of Midnight.” I’ve listened to it twice.
70. Do you like DW analysis (video essays, fan theories, etc)?
I do DW analysis for @rassilonwatchathon AND The Dipp. So yes. My fave is TARDIS Eruditorum, though.
I’LL ANSWER THE REST AT A LATER TIME. I MUST BE WITH MY PEOPLE NOW.

Doctor Who Tag Game
Tagged by: @thirteenstardisfam thank youu and i am so sorry it is so super long lmao i did not mean too, but somehow ended up with it, and also i think i will make fandom hate me for some stuff about 11, but i love him! don’t you dare to think otherwise :’D
im tagging: @tennant @luke-skywalker @panlyra @stupidape @buffyrosenbergs @expelliarmus idk who of you whovians wanna do it out there feel free to say i tagged you and go on ;)
Favourite Doctor:  still Ten, i love 12 and 13 almost as much, even if not harder atm, but if it comes to choosing 1 fav doctor then it’s always Ten, so far no one stepped higher for me :’D I loved his era, i loved so many episodes with him, his season arcs, his companions, his relationships with everyone, and this is the only Doctor whose regeneration was smooth for me, he was continuation of Ninth Doctor and it felt like that. I was not like ‘but he is so different in so many ways’ nope, never. Maybe it’s because companions were the same, everyone was still around which was great btw, and I fell in love with the show with Tenth Doctor, dare I say that I stopped watching back then when Matt Smitt became doctor? lmao, must be shock for some but yes, I dropped this show because of THAT lmao??now i laugh at my own self but yeah, i did. where’s everyone, why it feels so different? that was huge nope. Only years later I got back into it, thanks to amazing Michelle Gomez. Actually I was not even going to watch other doctors at that moment, but I watched episodes only with Missy, then i said well it’s not bad I like it and Missy and Twelve were?? OOOF LOVES OF MY LIFE FOR SURE because their relationship were so cool and of course i loved it, so i started a huge rewatch, the first since i dropped the show. Fell in love with Doctor/Master all over again, Ten was as amazing as I remembered, Nine was perfect and I love him too!!! and then... i got to s5... oh god, i was like, let’s give him a chance, what do i lose? but it still felt so weird, and the show was so different, and suddenly everyone else is so important but where are old characters? but i got into it because i have already seen some of 12′s episodes and i got used to the style?? i guess. and then River appeared, not because of her but around episode 5 or 6 i was into it already, not as much as i was before but anyway, maybe weeping angels helped because i loved them and it reminded me of Ten, i felt some kind of a connection to old doctor. I liked River with 10, i thought i will like her with 11 too... but alas, still felt like you know those boys who have never had sex but try to act like they know everything about it and hit on every moving thing and think they do it cool? :D i am sorry if i hurt someone’s feelings with it, but that’s how 11 was for me back then, and while I do understand river/11 it’s the least of all river ships for me, 11 is still the least fav doctor because of those feelings i had back then when i stopped watching, they are not rational i know that now but still feel them, but i love him now, and will protect that kid at all costs! i love ponds, i will kill if anyone says anything bad about Rory Williams! and Amy and Rory? quoting my favorite star trek couple? DUDE WE GO TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and even if i was not into all river/11 relationship i loved the story, and of course i liked 12, but s8 still feels like what the hell for me, not because of the doctor but because they tried so hard to show clara as bossy, i mean, i liked her with 11 and then suddenly they turn her into some control freak, it was not so MUCH with 11... but i know now why they did it, so Missy’s words have an effect and all. but still, i love clara before and after s8 :’D s9 clara? i will kill for her too. it’s too long but idk  :’D and actually, this shows that if you give it a chance even if you don’t like actor/actress at first - you might love the show ;) so stop acting like jodie is miscast honestly, i am ready to fight anyone for saying that :D say whatever you want about plot choices, but do not fucking act like it’s Jodie’s fault! actors are not responsible for show runner choices. She acts amazing with the material she has. anyway, 10 is my fav idiot!
Favourite Master: Missy, always was and always shall be. My favorite character in general in the show, no one tops my girl!
Favourite Sonic: honestly? i don’t really remember any sonic but 12′s glasses :D so... glasses. I mean, i don’t really care how it looks like, it does its job... most of the time lmao, but i liked those glasses and the thing with browser history was my fav :D
Favourite Companion: oh it’s soooo hard!!! either Donna or Bill. I can’t choose. but yeah, those are both with whom there were no ‘romantic’ relationship implied, i love friends more than couples. and I just loved 10 and Donna as a team and Bill and 12, i still wish they had more time. also Martha, the smartest companion lol she was amazing.
Favourite Story: anything involving The Master :D all episodes with them are my favs, but i can’t just pick one story, i still remember the first episode i watched back when it was airing and are you my mummy stuck in my head for the rest of my life giving me brrrr feeling, like it was not scary but somehow made me super uncomfortable? also vashta nerada?? duuuuude, you can’t just look at the shadow the same way. and ten/river together were really great, i mean, he did not know who is she, the mystery, i love shit like that?? yeesss!!!!! there are so many great ones. I don’t want to choose.
Favourite Soundtrack: that unreleased tiny melody when the master dies in the last of the time lords T--T and this is gallifrey and clara’s theme! those are my favs. and I also really like 11′s theme, kinda ready for adventures and doing some weird but funny shit :D
Dream Actor for next Doctor: ooooof OOOOF dude! you know what, usually it is one actor for 3 seasons, that’s how it was for the last 3 doctors, i want Jodie to break that rule and stay with us for 4th season as well, i just want to see how pissed off those haters will be lmao i really really think the entire timeless child thing will not feel the same with someone else yet, and i don’t think they will reveal much in 13th season, that’s HUGE thing, or they should make it so good and the next doctor... aaah i don’t want to feel that change again, like i did with 10 to 11, and felt with the every next doctor, but i overcome that shit and just give them a chance, it’s the doctor after all and im sure loving all of them now. not sure it can disappoint me even if most of plot choices in the season are ... weak. idk who, there are so many great actors but whoever i choose will not be as great as someone they choose, because they always somehow cast amazing people, but i agree with emily it’s time for a doctor of color! tho, they can’t go back to white male actor right now, i just can imagine how it will look like, with all the hate Jodie received and how people still whine about female doctor, it will look like they tried and decided to go back to white male doctors, one half will be happy but the other one will eat them alive! so yeah, i am pretty sure it’s not gonna be white man again yet lol
Dream Composer: idk
Dream Story: well, considering 13 is in jail now, i would love to see someone “we know” rescuing her, because honestly if they just showed me jack and left it like that, i will not accept it!!! but also since yaz will be the only one left with the doctor, since bradley and tosin leave the show, i hope we will have some yaz and doctor relationship development without anyone else, maybe jack could stay because i love him, but jack’s presence did not hurt doctor and rose relationship development back then, so it should not hurt now also. but if they bring someone new, at least don’t make it right away, let yaz and 13 have an adventure at least 1 episode, some talk and stuff. so when yaz leaves also... (and i kind of had that stupid feeling that yaz will die in the end, because somehow everything hints on that for me? idk maybe it’s because i rewatched and giffed orphan 55 today and vilma (?) telling yaz to run and stay alive kinda felt like something that hints on yaz’s future... and yaz is always going somewhere without thinking, to random alien ship, to save the doctor, she steps into trouble like a doctor hoping everything will somehow be ok, but im not even sure she hopes, it’s more like i am as good as her so i can do it, not in clara’s way when everything hinted she is like the doctor, because let’s be honest she was and even got her own tardis, but she thinks she is, but she is not, i think some day that might end bad for her... so when she also leaves i don’t want it be like well yeah, what’s next? i mean, i still miss Bill, that was like NOOOOOO with tears and screams for me, i loved Bill! and we had 2 seasons with yaz and i still don’t feel the same connection to any of the current companions atm, so i would like the show to make me love them more, i do love them, just not as much as those i still miss, but im sure defending any of them lmao i love them anyway. you know what i mean...
A Companion You’d like to see back: oh OH. we cant bring them back for entire season right? but doctor can meet Donna at some point, which will have no point lmao cos she doesn’t remember and it will only hurt doctor and i don’t see how her appearance will help any plot, it will be just fanservice cameo. But Bill is out there with Heather, they are powerful creatures now, i think it could somehow fit into the story, I want Bill back. But also, Clara is still one heartbeat away from death, she can be out there, and she has tardis. tiny cameos will be fine for me :D and Martha, but also Madam Vastra and Jenny, Kate and Osgood, where they are??? bring them back and it can make sense, their appearances. I mean, imagine someone from UNIT in s11, not unit itself but osgood??? it would feel so much different.
An Enemy/Alien/Creature you’d like to see again: weeping angels!!!! OOOF they were creepy, and i love them, like, DON’T BLINK!!! how can you not blink for so long? that is cool, i want them back. and also the most beautiful shots are always with angels so... :’D
If you could travel with one of the Doctors, which Doctor and why?: oooh, while 10 is my fav, and I totally would hit on 13 :D i will choose 12, 12 from season 10, because he was such a grandpa, no lovey dovey stuff, he would lecture me on thing i do, give me new info about something, we would explore shit together and he would be like a grandpa i never had. We would definitely have long discussions about stuff and have good laugh together and i would make references to movies and then we would watch those movies :D i would act like Bill lmao yess i want to travel with 12!!!

The ships of Doctor Who
Man I love the old Doctor Who before Moffat got his hands on the series.  The first 2 series will always be the best because of Rose and the Doctor.  I absolutely loved Nine although he still reminds me of my Dad in someways which can be really weird.  Most people think Rose fell for Ten because he was pretty, and he is, BUT they forget about Rose’s conversation with her mum in the Christmas Invasion
‘Thing is, I thought I knew him Mum. I thought him and me were.  And then he goes and does this.  I keep forgetting he’s not human’
That to me says it all, Rose fell for Nine and Nine did love her, we can see that from what he did for her in Father’s Day and his obvious jealousy when Jack swans in and Mickey steps in for a visit.  When Ten came along they still did all the things they did when he was Nine, like hold hands, but its much clearer now that they have feelings for each other.  Pity when I was a kid I never saw it until Doomsday but rewatching makes it crystal clear to me and then I need to go and curl up in the corner and cry especially when you see all the times the Doctor could have said those 3 words
“Tell Rose I, I.  Oh she knows’ (The Satan Pit) SHE MIGHT KNOW BUT SHE’D ALSO LIKE TO HEAR YOU SAY THOSE 3 DAMN WORDS.
Another couple I adore is Clara and Eleven.  I think they are just the sweetest. Personally, I thought River and Eleven never worked.  I don’t know just the fact that the Doctor knows he’s supposed to be in love with her ruins it all, made it feel far too one-sided, I mean now I know who she is I’ll still cry when I watch Forest of the Dead but I never believed in the relationship.
As for Clara and Eleven, both Oswin and Victorian Clara flirt with the Doctor and of course Victorian Clara kisses him.  Since these are just her copies we can assume that the reason they behave in this way around the Doctor is because the original Clara had feelings for him.
I realise now that its a little like River and the Doctor where one person knows far more than the other and it changes the way the Doctor would normally behave around a new companion but I believe in this more because those feelings are returned. In The Name of the Doctor Clara’s focus is on the Doctor, not the fact that the Universe is burning and she’ll never go home to Earth because the planet’s been saved by the Doctor more times than he can count.  She only wants to save him and he only wants to save her by jumping into his own timestream which is incredibly dangerous.
Unfortunately we never got a real confession before our dear Eleven regenerated but his phone call to Clara really broke me because Twelve has a point.  Its easy to forget that he once was Nine, Ten and Eleven. Nine was quite anxious that Rose may not like him after he changed and Ten wasn’t sure she’d want to keep travelling with him because he’d changed.  Twelve was pleading for Clara to see him, to realise that he was still the same man.
‘You can't see me, can you? You look at me, and you can't see me. Have you any idea what that's like? I'm not on the phone, I'm right here, standing in front of you. Please, just, just see me. ‘
Before the call though Twelve says this ‘ I'm not your boyfriend.’ and Clara responds with ‘ I never thought you were.’ but then ‘ I never said it was your mistake.’  This was kinda a wait what moment.
I realise that watching Doctor Who, you can’t get too attached.  The whole point is characters/actors get swapped out all the time but it still hurts when you lose one.

Doctor Who thoughts
(First of all, since I come from Germany I'm very sorry for my poor English. I was really bad at grammar in school so it's possible that it sounds like a very little kid wrote this :D And this is also going to be a veeeeeery long post bc I'm literally writing down what I thought and my thoughts where like jumping from one point to another so I'm sorry for that)
Okay, so I was thinking about sth... I'm rewatching Doctor Who now and I'm in season three, so basically I'm rewatching how my favourite Doctor gets emotionally destroyed... And when I was at work a few days ago I was thinking about a tumblr post I've found on pinterest. It said that this person (I'm sorry, I don't remember the URL) was sad because the eleventh Doctor was getting more dark and broken as the show continues like ten and nine were towards their ends (that's almost exactly how the person said it) and I stood there at work (what I do is pretty much so boring and brainless (do you say that in English like that??) that all I do is thinking about Supernatural, Sherlock, Doctor Who........) and was like 'Yeah, that might be true, but...' and then I started to get really into it. Because ten is my favourite Doctor I always compare him to the others so of course I was trying to find the difference and to tell the truth that wasn't very difficult because I thought about the age and that was when it hit me. I'm starting with nine. When Jackie slapped him in the face he said that he is 900 years old and at first I thought he only lived for the one year with Rose but when I watched the episode The day of the Doctor I wasn't so sure anymore. When the War Doctor appeared I tried to find out where in the timline of the Doctor (or when?) he would belong. I've watched this one movie where the seventh Doctor regenerates into the eighth Doctor and there the Doctor wanted to bring the ashes (I think) from the Master back to Gallifrey so that means at that point Gallifrey was still there, but we know that nine says that his planet is gone so that means that the War Doctor was between nine and eight... (slowly I'm getting to what I really want to say :D) If I remember correctly now Eleven said to the War Doctor that he is over 1200 years old and the War Doctor says that it has been 400 years since then which means that he was 800 years at that time. Then, after saving Gallifrey, he regenerates into nine and that means that nine was at least 100 years old (just that you know how I came to his age, because in my opinion the age is very important for what I'm going to say). When I did that (and it took me a long time to get there bc you know, my brain was not really focused) I remembered how nine said good bye to Rose and in my opinion he wasn't that sad and broken and dark. Then I started thinking about eleven and twelve (I've not finished season 10 yet, so what I say about twelve is just my impression so far and I know I said I'm rewatching Doctor Who but yeah, just let me do what I want :D) I'm starting with twelve because he wasn't in the textpost from tumblr... So twelve has already changed a lot since the beginning and again I'm explaining that with the age. Of course there where a lot of things that happened and changed him but what I want to concentraite on is the speed, how much he changed in what amount of time. He was really rude in the beginning and Clara helped him a lot to change this and of course it took a few years even though I don't know how many.(If you knew how difficult it is to write in English with a German keyboard that thinks every single word has to start with a capital letter, it's driving me crazy because I have to change it. Every. Single. Fucking. Time.) And then Clara died and he was really angry and sad because of it. And then he spend four and a half billion years in his own personal hell. Of course he would be broken after that, I mean four and a half billion years? And then is also the time he spend on this one planet with River, 24 years and then Bill says that he's been a university teacher (I'll just use this again I don't know the english word.) for fifty or seventy years. He had a lot of time to get broken (I'm pretty sure he's broken inside I mean he's the Doctor). Then eleven. When ten regenerated he was 906 years old. When eleven regenerated he was over 2000 years old. Do I need to say more? And also when the worst happened to him for the first time he was already 200 years older than ten. Eleven was most affected by the death of Amy and Rory and when that happened he was already 1200 years old. Then when he regenerated, he was okay with it. He lived over 1100 years and he was okay with dying, he made his peace with it (Do you say that like this in English? I really doubt it) And now. What I really want to say. I'm pretty sure you can already think about it. TEN WAS ONLY 5 OR 6 YEARS OLD! HE WAS SO SAD AND BROKEN AND DARK AND HURT AND EVERYTING BECAUSE HE LOST SO MANY FRIENDS AND HE REFUSED TO LET ANYONE TRAVEL WITH HIM AFTER HE HAD TO ERASE DONNAS MEMORIES BECAUSE HE WOULDN'T WANT TO LOSE MORE THAN HE ALREADY HAD AND HE WOULDN'T WANT ANYONE TO GET HURT AND. ALL. THIS. HAPPENED. IN. FIVE. FUCKING. YEARS. It is okay to be sad about the fact that Eleven is broken when he dies and it is okay to be sad about what he had lost. But all I can think about is that my favourite Doctor had lost much more in only five years and this is why I think that you can't just compare him to the other regenerations. AND THE MOST FASCINATING THING IS HE STILL WANTED TO LIVE! HE STILL WANTED TO SAVE PEOPLE, HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which brings me to another Thing I've been thinking about... But yeah for now this is where I'm going to end this post because it really became a very very long text. (This is basically a insight inside my brain, this is how my brain works all the time... I'm so sorry for this very long and maybe ununderstandable post)
