If Kirby Right Back at Ya were dubbed by The Ocean Group
Me being a random thinker, the concept sprung into my mind: what if the union that worked on MLPFIM did a dub for the Kirby anime? =7
I sat down and thought about who could be which character based on the range and personality associations of each voice actor.
First off, Kirby should absolutely retain his Japanese audio like 4Kids did. Though I’m still undecided on if he should have some ability to actually talk and if so, who should provide his lines.
I was originally going to assign Tiff to be voiced by Chantal Strand; however, since Strand is best known for doing “kind, soft-spoken” character voices (For example, Cassie from Dragon Tales) and Tiff not exactly the hush-calm type, I eventually settled for Kazumi Evans. With this in mind, I reassigned Strand to Fololo & Falala, who don’t have as much of a temperamental edge to them as Tiff (although they’re relatively sociable, as well).
Tuff was one of the easiest picks for me. Given that Cathy Weseluck voices Spike in FiM, she’d be able to pull of a similar-sounding hoarse little-boy characterization to that of Kayzie Rogers (Though I would say it sounds slightly deeper and less phlegmy than Rogers’ vocals).
It took me a while to find a candidate for Meta Knight, but I eventually settled on Brian Drummond. My reasoning is because he voiced the Mexican-accented Ahuizotl (MLP), the closest thing I could think of that sounded like Eric Stuart’s take on the masked swordsman.
Absolutely nothing would ever be as tied to KRBAY as Ted Lewis’ take on King Dedede, what with his redneck diction and over-the-top presence (HAND ME ANOTHA BAG O DEM CHIPS, anyone?). However, I have a feeling Ocean’s Scott McNeil could pull off a more throaty, harsh-sounding take on the robed penguin with a good amount of his hillbilly persona retained as a compromise.
Anyway, one voice I could see needing a drastic lift is eNeMeE; Andrew Rannells’ portrayal as raspy and high-pitched made it a lot more difficult to take the corporate conqueror seriously. Richard Newman (The dude who played M. Bison in the Street Fighter cartoon, “THIS! IS! DELICIOUS!!”, “YES! YES!”), contrarily, could give him a deeper voice more befitting of say, Banjo Ginja in the original Japanese production. (On a side note, Ginja also did M. Bison’s voice in an audio drama adaptation, tying the two characters even closer together, presentation-wise)
Disclaimer: I am aware that some voice actors listed no longer work in Vancouver (ie. Matt Hill, Trevor Devall), but I still included them in the cast list because it is merely hypothetical and for fun. If y’all have any additions or improvements you want to throw, feel free to blurt it out.

My Top 5 Favorite Ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
One thing that’s amazing about Friendship is Magic is just how many memorable characters there are. Not only were there six main ponies who each took turns having dedicated episodes, but each season brought with it new locations, new challenges, and yes, new characters. All diverse and most endearing. Which is why today I”m counting down my Top 5 favorite pony characters. And since ponies are what started all of this, we’re gonna stick with ponies. Although there are many great characters in Equestria and beyond who aren’t ponies that could easily make for a list of it’s own. But let’s start this off with…
#5 Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo
Tumblr media
No I am not calling her Muffins. Nobody calls her Muffins besides Hasbro. But if that’s what it takes to keep this adorable wool eyed mare around, then so be it. As someone who came into the fandom right before Season 3, Derpy as a creative piece and what she represents to the fandom, fascinates me.
Of course what made Derpy special right from the start is how fans personified her. From a simple animation error, she developed a character that attracted people. And from what I can tell, as the first season continued, fans assigned her personality traits like they were an improv troop. Derpy is really excited about muffins? They must be her favorite food! She drops things out of a moving truck? Maybe it’s a delivery truck. Maybe she’s a mail mare! From becoming a companion to a time traveling stallion to being a single mom of a unicorn filly also in the background who looked a little like her. It was the first time (though certainly not the last, not even on this list) the brony fandom created such a rich and involved life for a character who was never meant to do more then fill in the background.
But then “The Last Roundup” controversy happened. And something about Derpy’s role in the fandom culture, changed. Suddenly Derpy was, a symbol. People related not to the people who complained that she was offensive, but how her presence on the show was censored and almost silenced. One of the most relatable things to a brony is being ostracized from the outside world for expressing yourself. As time went on, Derpy began to become a symbol of strength and self love. Heck my favorite song in the fandom and one of my favorite songs period, was inspired by a note left behind to the writer and performer at Bronycon saying “It’s Great to be Different. Love Derpy.”.
Derpy went from being a lovable joke, to an icon that represented the failures and triumphs of many members of the community, and those who chose to tell her stories. That even if you are different in some way, you can still live a full and loving life. And when “Slice of Life” came around, it felt like it was the true celebration of what Derpy was to all of us that she was meant to be back in The Last Roundup. But because there was more screen time now, they were able to show all of what makes Derpy so adorable and beloved.
From her many future appearances in the show itself, to the empowering and endearing fan made content surrounding the little gray pegasus that’s been produced since, Derpy is an amazing creation that is so wonderful to watch no matter what form she takes. And now for the complete opposite pony…..
#4 Twilight Sparkle
Tumblr media
I generally consider MLP an ensemble show, since there are so many characters who get almost an equal amount of focus. However, there’s no denying that the show started with, and therefore mostly revolves around Twilight and her journey. Her friends and then their friends and family, as it expands into the massive cast we know and love. But that all started with a studious little unicorn.
There’s so much to like about Twilight. On the surface I always found her excitement for knowledge and study to be a great trait, especially to display to kids. Showing how excited people can be to learn and explore without being the “token nerd”. And of course her freak outs are legendary.
But what I appreciate about Twilight is her external and internal journey as a character. That despite being the studious one, she doesn’t know everything. That just because she’s really good at the skills she acquires, doesn’t mean she’s perfect all the time, or that she should be expected to be.
Twilight’s journey represents the path of the entire show. Learning different lessons on friendship and responsibility. That just because things happened in the past doesn’t mean you can’t evolve if someone’s willing to give you the chance. That just because someone is different and maybe a bit closed off, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it to try and get to know them. That when you move up in the world and magically sprout a pair of wings, and it feels like you’ve achieved everything you thought you could, doesn’t mean you have.
There are always things to learn, ways to grow, mistakes to be made and friends to find. That lesson and advice can come from the most unlikely of places like Discord and Starlight.Twilight had a cray journey through the 9 seasons of Friendship is Magic, but the most important thing is that she never stopped learning. Even when she moved on to teaching.
Twilight represents how no matter what you think at the time, there’s no one path to life. One day you’re focused on being a princess’s best student, the next you’re a princess yourself. Or venturing out beyond the borders of your land. Or opening a school to all creatures so you can help them all. To eventually, ruling the land. And even after achieving that, there are still challenges.
A friend of mine once pointed out that Twilight’s journey is quite a bit similar to some of the reformed villains. Somepony who was isolated and alone and wanted nothing to do with friendship. Who thought she could do everything herself. Until five random ponies decided to march into a forest to lend a hand, and changed her life forever. Twilight represents that no matter how much you succeed or how much you fail, there’s always something to gain from it. And that nobody accomplishes greatness alone. TL:DR, Twilight embodies the magic of friendship. Which is pretty obvious I know but it’s still worth celebrating.
#3 Princess Luna
Tumblr media
Luna Luna Luna. Everypony loves Luna. At least everypony in the fan base does, it took a while for the ponies in the show to warm up to her remember. So Luna makes this list above the main character who I just said embodies what the entire show is about because, thanks to Luna’s overwhelming popularity, it sparked my curiosity enough to watch the episode she featured in. My first episode of MLP was “Luna Eclipsed”. So yeah, Luna is partly responsible for getting me involved in all of this and why you’re reading this right now.
Some people think Luna is overrated or not worthy of all of this praise. And while I understand where these people are coming from, I can’t say I agree. The reasons to love Luna only got longer as the years went on, but I think the spark in the beginning was her story as Nightmare Moon. Can you imagine how easy it would have been to make Luna Celestia’s opposite in every way? Not just in their functions for the land? Relatives who are evil for the sake of evil are hardly rare in children’s media. Especially in the stuff marketed to girls.
But what set Luna apart is that they gave her motivation. An actual reason for why she wanted to plunge the world into eternal night. Because she wanted to be appreciated. And while Luna may not have, taken the best approach towards accomplishing that, who can’t relate to that?
And I’m always a huge fan of villain redemption stories personally, so as I watched “Luna Eclipsed”, and saw Luna fitting back in with the ponies was something I really liked. And after getting more involved with the series, it was really gratifying to see more of her as she slowly began to have a more prominent role in the show and progress more as a character.
Having her teach the CMC through their dreams was a great idea for a group of episodes, showing that Luna can use her past mistakes to teach other ponies to be better. Watching her still struggle with those feelings of guilt and regret from her actions as Nightmare Moon in the somewhat controversial, yet beloved to me and quite a few others, “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?”. And much later, getting to finally see how she spends time with her very different, yet still loving sister.
The show may have had many villains see the error of their ways through the power of friendship and rainbow lasers, but Luna was the first, and to this day, most loved. She dominates the charts every time a “Best Princess” poll comes up because apart from Twilight, she’s the most interesting and developed.
There may have been times where they had to work backwards for development, but in the end Luna had an amazing presence throughout the series from Day 1, and in a way, may have been one of the keys to it’s first spark of appeal to older viewers. But who knows?
#2 Time Turner/Doctor Whooves
Tumblr media
Well we’ve all got a favorite background pony. And as much as I love Derpy, this eccentric scientist remains my favorite. Like with Luna, part of the reason the fan named Doctor Whooves is one of my favorite ponies is because he got me more involved in the fandom. And just to clarify, no. I was not a Doctor Who fan before I was an MLP fan.
But there was just something about the bizarre combination of My Little Pony and Doctor Who that just peaked my curiosity. And thanks to the likes of the incredible audio dramas Doctor Whooves and Assistant and Doctor Whooves Adventures, I became even more interested in both MLP and Doctor Who, and dove full force into the fandom within a fandom that was the Doctor Whooves community. So many Doctors, so little time. And it was glorious!
Doctor Whooves is just one of those concepts that is so enjoyable to create stories and concepts around. Between the two worlds the possibilities are endless! And it was always fun and exciting to come across someone else’s version of this idea that’s, weird, but works. And I myself have celebrated my love for the time traveling stallion in all sorts of ways from animatics to reviews to traditional fan art.
And then, “Slice of Life” happened. While he wasn’t an actual time traveling thousand year old alien (not as far as we know anyway) I really loved how they characterized him in the show itself. His eccentric experiments, Peter New’s delightful rambly voice work, throwing in a couple of Doctor Who references that are blatant and subtle at the same time. It was so much fun to watch, and to see him again every now and then during the remainder of the series.
And to think all of that came from a random hour glass cutie mark and someone out there thinking his mane looked sort of like David Tennant’s hair. Have I mentioned how much this fandom’s imagination blows my mind???
#1 Fluttershy
Tumblr media
Oh my dear sweet Fluttershy. One of the benefits to having six main ponies is that they can cover a broad spectrum of character types. Everyone develops a favorite among the group at some point, and while there are many different reasons for a character to be your favorite, 9 times out of 10 when someone is asked who their favorite is among the Mane Six, it’s usually because they can relate to them. That they see themselves in one of these pastels ponies personalities or goals or growth. That is what Fluttershy is to me.
I relate to Fluttershy, so much it scares me sometimes. Being really quiet around people I don’t know well. Getting nervous about things others might find ridiculous. Apologizing profusely for things. And most importantly, trying to be genuinely nice and understanding, even when it’s hard.
I understand both Fluttershy’s highs and lows. How she really tries to be stronger then her anxieties, that are tough for those who don’t have those issues to understand why she’s acting that way. How satisfying it is in those times when you can overcome your anxieties, and look a scary person or situation in the eye and face it. How the friends you make can make you more comfortable and open to new opportunities and experiences.
Despite her shy nature, Fluttershy is a tower of strength. And her development throughout the course of the series is the most satisfying to me. Going from not being able to talk to a new pony in town, to sincerely befriending the lord of chaos. From being kicked around by strangers in a marketplace, to being assertive with her own brother and helping him get his act together. From bending over backwards to not hurt other ponies feelings, to firing workers who weren’t respecting here wishes.
Probably the best thing about Fluttershy’s character development is that, it takes it’s time. But the progress she makes is clear. As she says in “Fame and Misfortune”, it took her a while to get there, but you don’t learn a lesson once and completely change who you are. Fluttershy represents the very subtle development we all make everyday if we try. It may not show too much the next day, but if we keep striving to be better and more outgoing, the results will speak for themselves over time.
I love absolutely everything about Fluttershy. Her design is adorable. Her voice work from Andrea Libman is perfect. Her work with animals and the kindness she spreads throughout the show is sweet and admirable, and she’s a beacon of hope for those who feel weak or suffer from anxieties. Who feel like they can never improve. Fluttershy shows that you can make improvements every day. It doesn’t mean you have to change overnight. And that the quietest pony, can turn out to be the strongest.
So those are my Top 5 Favorite Ponies, and be sure to let me know who some of your favorite ponies are. Not just your all time favorite, but some of the runner ups. There are many different reasons to love certain characters and that might not all apply to one of them. That’s the fun thing about this topic. With so many great characters and so many reasons to like some of them, everyone’s answer is unique and interesting. Just like the ponies themselves.

Just posting this now because I am now redesigning the character. And not just that. But entirely removing the pony aspects of her.
Ahhh..... another update from Cutix Pony on Tumblr after yet another long hiatus from Tumblr. Yeah, that shows how interested I am with it compared to YouTube. Sorry about that.
That's right. No more Pony in the name. That means changing the name of this Tumblr account as well.
Before you ask me, I don't hate MLP: FiM at all. I still liked the show. It's just that I don't find any way to make interesting content for MLP anymore. So I stick to making Sonic-related content on YouTube as I tend to find ways to make fun of and satirize anything related to him.
I'm glad I found my place on YouTube after practicing SFM animations. Tumblr was part of my childhood embarrassment. Back then, I first joined Tumblr and make 'answering questions' post with my OC to cope with the constant verbal bullying in primary school. Eventually, I created more ask blogs. Then one day, as I was starting to turn into a teenager, I left Tumblr alone. Looking back at the posts I made here...... I tend to regret even joining Tumblr. I was just a kid who don't know any better. But then, after making the YouTube channel named after this Tumblr blog in 2014, I moved on. I forgot about this for a while. And I was happy.
But my start on YouTube wasn't any better either. My older animations were bad and this didn't make things better when my channel gained quick popularity because of the FNAF SFM videos. Now they're unlisted as I got embarrassed by the fandom. I had to make sure that the channel will not be remembered for FNAF.
I did some embarrassing things with my videos as well. Similar with how I did back when I was active on Tumblr, I tried exploring on making different content. On Tumblr, I tried different ask blogs with different characters, stories and settings. On YouTube, I tried YouTube Poops, Comic Dubs and Meme videos. YTPs were fine so I keep them public, but my comic dubs were considered cringeworthy due to my Singaporean accent and meme videos...... actually, they're underrated.
Now my channel has an identity, which is funny and satirical Sonic SFM content. I started to focus on that thanks to my Sonic Forces parody series "Sonic Forces is Original", which was the point where I edit the audios of existing sources like classic YouTube Poops. So now my latest videos are like that. You can check out my content if you want. I appreciate the support.
But the strange thing is that the channel name does not reflect on the main content, mainly because of the last name Pony. Again, I don't make MLP content due to lack of interesting ideas for it. So I asked my YouTube subscribers through the poll on whether or not I should change the name to Cutix Candy and redesign her. Majority voted Yes.
So here I am telling you this. That ask-cutixpony will now be ask-cutixcandy. And that Cutix will no longer have pony eyes and tail.
Now you can unfollow me if you want. That's fine. I lost my Tumblr followers anyway due to long inactivity. Tumblr does not feel like home to me. And thanks to Tumblr controversies, I stepped away from that most of the time.
But yeah.... if you're reading this, thank you for having the patience to read this. I know I'm not on Tumblr. Maybe I can post arts here.... possibly MLP as well but only on Tumblr..... and maybe I can still answer your questions in the inbox as well. But I don't know. The future of this blog is already going down thanks to the hiatus.... but..... we'll see.

Okay i promised this, so here's your batim x mlp au fanfiction from a closeted batim and mlp fan.
Tw: gore, going missing mentions, batim
////////////////////
Twilight gazed upon the unsteady dusty building standing in the middle of the neatly lit grass, her purple hooves uncomfortably shifted in between the tendrils of the grasses embrace as she felt her body grow tense. She hadn't entered this workshop in a very long time ever since she retired from being an animator.
She worked for a company she and her brother made, together, they made a cartoon called "Twily". Her brother based the main character off of her and the other characters off of some other workers in the studio.
Sighing away her nervousness, she slowly began to walk towards the building. Wind carried the leaves in the autumn breeze. She would once again enter the place where all of her friends were last seen.
Everypony she had knew as friends in the studio went missing, last place they were saw was.. the workshop. And now, because of a letter her brother sent, she would enter said place.
Shivering, she used her magic to open the door. Once it was opened, a foul odor of the past came through her nostrils. She coughed, but she stayed determined and moved foward. Closing the door with her magic, she sighed.
"Alright, Shining Armor. I'm here. Lets see if I can find what you needed me to see." She talked to herself, trying to settle her unease.
As she wondered the dusty old remnants of the studios corridiors, she found what she was looking for. The ink Machine. "So this is the ink machine, huh? Wonder how you turn it on.." She muttered, she wasn't good with mechanics, so this wouldn't be very easy.
She walked slowly through another one of the halls, hastily avoiding cardboard cutouts of her cartoon reflection. Her hoofsteps echoed through the building, creating new sounds it must not have heard in many years.
As she blinked, and stepped on a piece of slightly loose cardboard, she lost her balance. She tried to get up from the floor, but her beautiful dark purple eyes caught sight of something in the distance.
Pinkie Pie, at least.. the cartoon version of her. She had her chest ripped out, bones being revealed from the hollowed darkness within her insides. "AGH!" Twilight screamed, falling onto the floor again. She wretched, and scrambled on the floor for another place that wasn't where the corpse of where her cartoon friends corpse had been present.
"Oh my Celestia.. Shining, what.. why-" Twilight got cut off by another sight. Pedestals of some kind. Photo frames of certain objects were above them, did something have to be put on them to be connected? She froze, and sighed away the anxieties she held in her chest.
Taking a deep inhale, and closing her eyes, she quickly hurried past the area she did not wish to lay her eyes on once again.
-
After wondering about some creeks and corners and finding random objects, there was one last area she didnt check. A room where they would show the animation on a screen to see if it was good enough.
She tried to walk into the area, but she saw what appeared to be.. an audio log. But.. why? She didn't remember it. She remembered the audio logs she herself would record, but not this one.
Tapping the play button, a familair yet energetic voice played from the cassette like object.
"Everyday, I sweep sweep sweep and it drives me CRAZZYYY! Yes I know I applied for being janitor, but couldn't the ponies around here be more clean for a change? Ever since Twilight left, things have gone completely insane! I barely can interact with any of my gal pals anymore, and Applejack doesn't even like me anymore due to this stupid thing! Also, get this! Shining Armor asked us humbly to donate some things from our work station and to put them on these boriiing pedestals! To help appease the gods, he says! I think he's just downright insane! But if I have to fix one more busted pipe, im outta here!"
The recording stopped, and Twilight tried to hold back her tears. It wasn't the same Pinkie from earlier but.. she couldn't help but feel wet tear drops well up in her sparkling eyes.
She tried to get a hold of herself, and continued onward.
-
She found all objects, and once she did, all pedastals lit up eerily in a dimly light. She walked towards the lever in front of her, and pulled it down. Then, the lights came on.
And she heard a strange noise coming from the ink machine.
Walking to the room as carefully and quietly as she could, she closed her eyes preparing for the worst. But upon opening them, she saw wood covering up the door.
She walked up to it. And peeking inside, she-
"GRUAAGHHH!"
A black, inky silhouette showed itself. Its mouth showed a creepy grin and white skin. Twilight screamed, and began to run. She pleaded for help even if she knew nopony was there to help. She tried to keep hoping, and soon.. she found the exit.
"PLEASE LET ME OUT, PLEASE LET ME-"
Twilight whimpered as she ran for the door, but-
CRASH!
"AGHHHH!"
She fell down an ebony inky hole, and landed on woodplanks. She felt her back was sore, and so were her legs. She was completely sore everywhere.
Shaking her head, she tried to proceed foward. Trying to push all the thoughts out of her head. "The creator lied to us", words written on the wall said. She sighed, and kept trying to move foward. Grabbing an convenient axe on the wall, she opened the door.
Moving in the ink, she saw another audio log. She pressed play with her inky hoof and kept working. Then, she heard a familiar scrawny voice play.
"Its dark and its cold, sometimes doors open and sometimes they don't. This place has been a complete mess since Twilight left and left it in her stupid brothers hands! My friendship with Applejack has fell apart, Rarity has gone missing and Pinkie Pie hardly gets to talk to anypony because of her work! If this stupid stallion asks me to fix one more pipe for him, I swear to celestia, I am not doing any work for him! Ever!" The recording stopped.
Twilight laughed, that was the Rainbow Dash she knew. But frowned again once the memory of her going missing as well played in her head.
She soon managed to unflood the room, and opened the formerly ink covered door. Going down the hallway, busting down the wood, she froze.
A pentagram.
A chair, that inky silhouette..
Everything went dark.

Yes, yes it was
http://dudeblade.tumblr.com/post/162849826936/im-not-sure-if-this-was-stupid-or-not
How boy, nostalgia. A powerful thing isn’t it. Let’s fight nostalgia with a few facts.
I recently started rewatching shows that I enjoyed as a kid…
Okay...for what reason? Nostalgia? Boredom? Rediscovery? Your reason for watching these could very well affect yoru opinion on them, especially with your bias against RWBY. (As we shall soon see.)
And I realized that the show, Beast Wars, one of the very FIRST 3D Animated shows ever aired, is better than RWBY. The plot is less confusing, and in the span of ONE episode, they managed to make the monstrous Rampage sympathetic; RW/BY is struggling to make Cinder out to be sympathetic in TWELVE episodes.
Well, there are three problems here:
1. The purpose of Cinder was to be hated, not redeemable. For god’s sake, you love the Joker and yet he is irredeemable: Does that mean this Rampage is a better villain than the Joker?
2. Your examples don’t say why Beast Wars is better. You don’t say why Ramapage is more redeemable than Cinder nor how the plot is less confusing. And that’s ALL you say. Nothing about animation, the rest of the characters, the audio, the visuals, the graphics nor action or jokes. Just because it’s better than RWBY in two aspects doesn’t make better overall. Speaking of....
3. Facts contradict you. IMDb lists Beast Wars at an amazing 8.2 (which I think it deserves a round of applause for being rated so highly...but RWBY is rated as 8.3. And unlike Beast Wars which is a part of an existing franchise, complete and had more professional backing: RWBY didn’t and still doesn’t. Again, while this is amazing of Beast Wars, RWBY is still factually rated higher so your opinion doesn’t hold much weight.
The show Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius is also 3D animated. And the overall characters are more relatable, and everyone gets a chance to have the spotlight.
Again, you don’t say why they are more relateable. I don’t find Sheen all that relateable, nor Carl really, Jimmy only somewhat ect. The one I find relateable is the professor who could never finish his works, something I have a fear of. And I can remember that Carl didn’t get very much development, Sheen didn’t really develop beyond comedy relief and Jimmy stayed pretty arrogant. Whereas the same cannot be said for most of RWBY’s cast.  And again, that’s only one aspect. There is more to animation besides characters.
And again, the facts don’t agree with you. In fact, Jimmy Neutron is rated only 6.7 whereas RWBY again has an 8.3. And this while being completed and backed by a popular network whereas, again, RWBY is NOT. SO even with all those advantages, RWBY still beats it out.
The show Storm Hawks made me remember all the good times I had with the show. I would get up early to watch it when I was younger. The characters were interesting, the overall plot was spectacular, and the action is interesting.
How how and how? Also, music, animation, graphics, color design, character development?
And again, Storm hawks has a rating of 7.3 and RWBy has a whole star above it. And it aired on Cartoon Network and is complete. So your statement fails.
The kicker? - All of these were western shows that aired BEFORE 2010, a full FIVE YEARS BEFORE RW/BY!
And the only one I really fond impressive is Beast Wars. Storm hawks and Jimmy Neutron are both utterly crushed by RWBY in teh ratings, who doesn’t have network backing, isn’t a part of an existing franchise and isn’t complete so it can still go up.
In fact, considering your tags, let’s take three more shows into account: Legend Of Korra, Loud House and Steven Universe.
Korra has a IMDb of 8.6, which seems impressive compared to RWBY...except Korra had network backing, experienced writers, is complete and has full episodes. And speaking of experience, it’s actually a downgrade from The Last Airbender’s staggering 9.2 and guess what, This was rejected from Japan (although I will admit this is partially due to the Japanese stand ins remindingt them of a dark time in their history). So Korra had more advantages than RWBY and still barely surpasses it.
Loud House has an IMDb of 7.8, still lesser than RWBY’s. And again, it has more experience behind it (the writer wrote both the powerpuff girls and Dexter’s Labratory) and network backing.
The only one I am impressed by here is Steven Universe, who has an IMDb Rating of 8.4. However, it’s original so it has less to fall back on and came in during a time that was still pretty iffy for Cartoon Network. Howqever, it has had more money behind it, more exposure, more experience (Adventure Time and MLP: Friendship is magic) which means that RWBY is keeping up with one of the most famous pieces of western animation while basically ahving more disadvantages.
And let’s take a look at RWBy’s stated inspirations from anime? NGE has both an IMDb rating of 8.6 and Hideaki Anno had a reputation with Hayao Miyazaki and one of their most famous works: Nausicaa of the Valley Of The Wind. Ghost in The Shell (/Stand Alone Complex) has an IMDb rating of 8/8.6 and Gurren Lagann, the one RWBY takes the most influence from and was Monty’s favorite anime, has an IMDb rating of 8.4. RWBY is starting to rival her predessors.
And RWBY is pretty groundbreaking as well: First American anime to be exported to Japan, made it into Japanese theaters, has an all star dubbing cast, has a crap ton of merchandise there, got a manga adaptation and, oh yeah, is airing on Japanese TV as we speak! Can’t take that away.
So, was it stupid to do this? I feel as if I just ruined the show for me when I know that there are better ones that have already aired before.
Yes, immensely. Your nostalgia doesn’t change facts nor does it devalue CRWBY’s work. All this did was bring me off my Hiatus again (I gotta work on that), severely questions your critical thinking abilities and your status as a RWBY fan and shows how impressive RWBY really is. So you kind of failed here.
And can I also mention that the Smash bros. Brawl machinima, Smash King is also better as well? - I feel like I should mention that.
barely known, has about the 1/5000th of RWBY’s likes and views and is mostly just using Smash Bros brawl for acting. You probably shouldn’t have.
