Is it me or do other people find it jarring how Taika's haters try and distort reality and act like everyone loves him and they are the only one? Or that everyone acts like he's perfect and heaps him with praise for doing the bare minimum when from what I've seen no one who actually likes him does that.

Hi Anon! Oh interesting question. I don't know if I've personally seen a lot of that specific situation where they think everyone is blindly supporting him (I do tend to block after a certain point so maybe that's why?). If I'm understanding you correctly it sounds a lot like they're seeing any support of Taika as "HE IS PERFECT AND NO ONE SHALL CHALLENGE HIM" when most people who support him know he's not perfect (as no one is) and we accept him anyway.

Which is one of the things OFMD really drives home-- you're not perfect, that's okay! You can do better if you mess up! You are deserving of being forgiven!

Which I mean, in general I think that really points to your first point, that folks who are mad at him are kind of living in this distorted reality. But also too... I've seen this a lot in my personal life with ... various folks that some people see the world in a very black and white state. They see things as "if it's not this, it MUST mean THIS" -- in this case "If people support Taika, it MUST BE BECAUSE THEY THINK HES PERFECT", same with "If he asked for hostages to be released, HE MUST BE SUPPORTIVE OF GENOCIDE".

Which.. to be fair there's a lot of cultural training for that.. as some folks have put in tags of other posts, it's lack of critical thinking and questioning skills. I know where I grew up they were super big into us questioning everything, but when I talk to some friends who grew up in other states here in the US, they didn't get the same focus on critical thinking in public school, and got more of it in college (and not everyone can afford to go to college). I had a really cool 11th grade English teacher who showed us a video in class one day. It was a parody of a documentary and was explaining how the earth was flat (which we didn't know at the time, they didn't tell us this wasn't real). It was weird because it didn't come out and say "the earth was flat" though, it came out with kind of vaguely reasonable sounding arguments from people with "Dr" in front of their name.

I remember looking at my friend who was really confused too and saying something like "wait is this for real?" and them shrugging at me. It wasn't until this part of the video where there's literally cows running around Antarctica that a lot of us were like, "wait this is totally not real". That English teacher.. after we got done with the movie started asking us when it was that we started questioning the validity of the video, and then went into this whole lecture about how especially when we're young, we're so used to just being FED information that sometimes we get fed completely false information and we just DONT know it. The whole exercise was all about questioning and critical thinking skills and how not every "teacher" or "doctor" is going to be as qualified as they try to tell you they are.

I found that whole exercise really eye opening because I had never really thought of people purposely trying to bias my education like that before. I'm sure there's thousands of ways that people learn these kinds of skills (and I know mine aren't perfect) but I found that one to really hit home-- so imagine never being taught that. Never being taught that if you start feeling like the thing being said doesn't sound quite right to question it.

Now of course, some folks are purposefully ignorant and that's a whole other issue, but I do think we need better critical thinking education all over the world (but especially in America what with the vastly different education depending on which region you're in).

Tumblr was made to be a social app, for people to interact with each other and reblog posts in order to do so. That’s why there’s so many options to add responses to posts, to add tags and even send asks.

I have an ao3 and anyone is more than welcome to read my fics over there without leaving a comment, kudos or bookmark— like the huge majority do.

But on here it makes me uncomfortable to have so many blank/empty/plain blogs following me with absolutely no fandom content reblogged whatsoever or only generic posts/responses. Especially since two of the times I’ve been plagiarised it was by either a blank blog following me on here, it a k-pop blog who didn’t reblog anime content stealing my shit. So I’m sorry I don’t want them following me.

And the post you’re talking about in question, I was nice because I know that a lot of people still don’t understand the importance of reblogging your faves. Even though artists and writers go on and on and on about it, what’s the point of being mean? I only posted that response AFTER she replied to me saying that she didn’t understand the point of reblogging fanart or fanfic… even though she reblogs literal nonsense posts. That’s the part that really got me.

So uh. Hi, I finally made a decision I probably should have made a long while ago thanks to talking a bit on Discord: for the sake of my sanity I will not be keeping up the weekly schedule after all 😔 Layton's Book Club updates WILL be posted exclusively on Saturdays at the decided time, instead of at any random time in the week, and I will likely make a few heads up when we're on a lucky week during which you'll get an update, but I will not force myself to make it happen every single week. Simply because at least right now, it is physically impossible for me to do so. (Chapter 1 Part 1 of Illusory Forest is going to be the end of me, and not just because I am still questioning if the author was under the influence of some Folsense gas while writing it.)

That being said, I believe this should actually be treated as good news, and not just good news for my personal health. Because, sure, the updates will not come out as often as I had originally planned to. But in the long run, I actually believe that since I no longer plan to force myself to only work on one thing (which has progressively been eating at my sanity on top of that because darn it this chapter is stupid and it just doesn't seem to END, + it'd be nice if I could finally get some content out that is my creation rather than somebody else's), it means that I will actually allow myself to post more diverse Layton stuff in the meantime.

Stuff like the Evan Barde post I made a few days ago, or other helpful-for-the-fandom stuff that isn't translation work, or… even maybe stuff like finally allowing myself to write SLS and draw random stuff again? Or even read other people’s fanfics and comics and AUs and stuff? (ok technically that last one would probably not lead to tumblr content but shush it means I would take time to look at YOUR content for a change)

The list of stuff I'd like to post in the future includes but is not limited to:

A tutorial on how I get my translation stuff done despite the fact that I do not actually speak Japanese. Best case scenario, this might even lead to some brave people among you to start helping me with this monumental task that is translating multiple novels and games from scratch while you're not even fluent in the language you're translating, and this would be a MASSIVE weight off my back. (spoiler alert: while I do use DeepL to check stuff and/or get inspiration, my work is NOT limited to simply copy/pasting sentences into it and then copy/pasting whatever it gives me back)

The Playthrough series! You had all forgotten about it, hadn't you? Yeah, me too.

Lore analysis stuff in general. I have a massive, absolutely insane project ongoing which is basically "Want to find some info about X? Just open that one (1) web page, enter a few tags such as a specific character's name or location, clich the Search button, and get a list of every single known fact which is related to all of your tags which is summarised down to the bare minimum fact, along with the exact source and quote directly taken from the source material."

Puzzle theory stuff. I've talked about it a lot, it'd be cool if I could finally get the stuff sorted and actually provide all the evidence supporting, refining or challenging it in one place. Above-mentioned lore analysis stuff should help with that.

More fancy shitpost such as the ones found in the #lutiasdraws tag. Let me join in on the fun pls it's good for my mental health to get some serotonin out of non-boring stuff. Heck, perhaps I might even do fanart/shitpost about some fanfics/AUs/others I find and enjoy.

I'm insanely sorry for vanishing for a while. My gf has been staying over, and we got caught up watching OPLA, and we wanted to finish playing pokemon sword/shield while she was here because scottish and we had a bunch of trips planned so we've been really busy. But!!! we've also been working on Kid's carrd. every. single. day. for literally about. more than two weeks? because his backstory is immensely dense and long. his backstory is literally the most lengthy thing I have ever written for any of my muses in my life. Oda gave him the absolute bare minimum so I had to write him his own spinoff novel.

The problem was that we kept reaching the word limit on his carrd. So we tried to condense it. The condensed version also hit the word limit. So we tried to condense it a third time, and cut out some major plot points for the sake of his carrd. and that ALSO hit the word limit. The only way we could make it fit was to take out all of his portrayal notes, make them into separate posts, and then link them in the card. Because it just would not fit otherwise.

Now we actually have to post all these portrayal notes so we can put the links in the carrd and thereby finish the carrd. Which means we have about 20 headcanon posts ready to go (or very nearly ready to go, some are like 90% done) and we can't post his carrd until they're up so like. there's going to be a huge amount of kid heacanon posts coming soon, and I wanted to give everyone on my dash a heads up because I don't want anyone to get angry at me for spamming his content. I will completely understand if you want to temporarily block my headcanon tag. I will try my best to space them out a bit.

That being said, we really poured so much time into making his backstory sound good. Gf stayed up for many nights editing everything to make it sound pretty.

There's so, so, so much more that we haven't even started on, but if we try to get everything done now then it'll literally take months to finish, so we've decided to go with what we have so far and just keep posting updates to it every so often.

Anyway. In summary, lots and lots of Kid posts coming soon. And I'm very sorry for being gone for so long. My activity will still be a bit slow for the next few days, but I should be back to replying normally soon and start catching up on everything I missed while I was busy.

Prologue – Town Hall

  It was a muggy summer day in June. A heavy rain had poured through, making the already hot day even worse than it was. The city council building had air conditioning, thankfully. It helped you forget the horrible, sticky heat of outside world.

To the casually dressed teenager sat at the desk, it was dreadfully boring. She was stuck doing this for a college credit, since she was a few points short for her GPA. To make up for it she’d be spending two months as the temporary secretary for City Hall. She huffed. She hated this, but she couldn’t pass up her opportunity to get into her dream college. “Ugh, I wonder what Stacy’s doing?” the girl said, frowning at her phone. She scrolled through her Instagram feed, the feeling of FOMO settling in. The girl continued to scroll mindlessly, not noticing a sharply dressed man walking into the waiting area.  

 He was wearing a fur coat, huge and dyed teal with flicks of gold, like some kind of rockstar. Underneath, a tailored suit, all dark reds and blacks and golds when it catches the light. His face was partially obscured by huge mirrored gold sunglasses, but none could miss a perfectly maintained pompadour. His heels clicked with some other gold accents, giving him a distinct, obnoxious step.

“So this is where Ricky’s been hiding, huh?” The man mumbled to himself. He slipped his sunglasses off, neatly folding them and stuffed them on the inside pocket of his ridiculously out of season coat. With those no longer obscuring his face, he was actually quite handsome.

He had a long pointed nose, reminding one of some exotic bird with his ridiculous outfit. His face was long, his chin ending in a point. You could say he had sharp features. His eyes were a pretty golden brown, but his stare was sharp and focused. He was tall, but not what you’d call lanky. He wasn’t muscley but not so scrawny. Fit could be the right word. He strode across the room towards the receptionist’s desk, looming over the teenager.

Noticing that her light was suddenly blocked, the girl looked up at him with a annoyed expression. “Uh, can I help you?” she asked, frowning. She was giving the bare minimum, enough so she wouldn’t screw this up and get kicked out. The taller gentleman leaned down, resting an elbow on the edge of the desk. The scent of his expensive cologne filled the girl’s air space. It burned her eyes, making them water. “I’d like tah talk with the mayor. He and I got some business to discuss.” He said grinning. His bleached white teeth were blinding the girl. One of his canines were  gold. “Tell’em that Koda Dorado is here, kay kid?”

“Sorry sir, but Mr. Belle isn’t taking any non-appointments today.” The girl said, leaning back in the chair. She swiveled the chair to face the computer and wiggled the mouse. She clicked on the calendar app, scanning to see if he did have an appointment. Just in case.

“I’m not seeing your name on the calendar either, sir. If you’d like to make an appointment, I’d be glad to help you.” The young receptionist sighed. She was warned that people would try to shove their way into to see the mayor. At most, she just had to offer to make an appointment, which would be ignored, or offer up the suggestion box. Or just call security and have them thrown out.

“Listen-“ Koda glanced down at the girl’s name tag. “Listen, Joan. Me and the mayor, we go way back. He’s, uh, my great uncle, alright? So if you could just buzz me in or something, I could make it worth your while.”

Joan sneered, “Are you, like, trying to bribe me right now?!”

“Maybe. Depends on dah asking price, Doll-face.”

Joan pondered for a moment. It was glaringly obvious that this guy wasn’t the mayor’s nephew, and his determination to see him was incredibly annoying. She was inclined to call security to escort him out, thus wiping her hands of this man. Her hand slipped under the desk, preparing to tap the panic button. She paused when the doors leading towards the main office swung open with enough force to cause some damage to the henge. Koda and Joan both jumped in surprise, turning to see who it was. There stood a portly, middle-aged man in an unfashionable, out of style velvet suit, a very unseasonal black turtleneck underneath with plain brown loafers. His hair was thinning, turning from black to gray and slicked back with too much hair gel. He had a beard, neat and clean, with specks of white poking through. He wore six rings, five on his right hand and only one on his left. It was a surprise he got them on his fat sausage fingers. The man stared at Koda with contempt. Koda stared back with twisted grin.

Mayor Richard Bell had arrived. “Uncle Ricky!” Koda said, standing straight, voice full of faux excitement and happiness. He waltzed over to the man, arms open wide as if he was going to give the biggest bear hug. Acting like he hadn’t seen him in so long, a loving nephew who hasn’t seen his favorite uncle in so, so long. To anyone who didn’t know them, it’d be a heartwarming scene. But to the mayor, it was anything but. It was true that Mayor Bell had known Koda for a long time, but he wasn’t his nephew. He wasn’t related to him by blood, or any other direct familial ties. Koda was a demon. A demon plagued by the sin of Greed, on the hunt for his horn after losing it some 40 years ago. And Mayor Richard Bell was the angel who was responsible for the loss of the horn.

Koda hugged the mayor, squeezing him so tightly that it could have popped the poor man like one of those funny squeeze toys. The ones that squeak when you squeeze them. The mayor hugged him back, giving him a halfhearted pat on the back to keep up the charade. His aggravated expression probably gave away how he truly felt, however.

“What are you doing here?” Mayor Bell asked, tone curt and sharp. “What do you want?”

‘How did you fine me?’ was a question that went unsaid but written all over his face. Koda could sense what he was thinking. He had known “Richard” for years, under different aliases. But its one thing he could hide, and that was his contempt for the other.

Koda put on a hurt expression, placing his hand over his chest in false shock. “What could you possibly mean, Uncle Ricky? I just wanted to come by and see ya!” Koda flung an arm over the man’s shoulder, getting close to him. Mayor Richard knocked it away like some bug landed on him.  “I mean it’s been a good, what? 10 years since we last spoke? I just wanted to catch up! For ol’ time’s sake…”

Mayor Richard scowled, “Fine. Let’s talk in my office.” He turned to Joan, who had been watching everything. She flinched, looking away embarrassed. He pointed a fat finger in her direction. “I’m on my lunch hour. Do not let anyone in and take calls for me. Thank you, Joan.” “Yeah, thanks Joan! I’ll leave ya a tip!” Koda cackled as he was led towards the Mayor’s office. Joan wasn’t going to receive that tip.

hey, i love ur fic recs! i am wondering, what exactly is ur strategy for finding the fics specific to the pairing/trope that you want to read when ur putting together ur lists? like when u are searching, how do you sort it on ao3 to find what you are looking for in good quality ig? idk if this really makes any sense but when i search for something that i want to read based on how im feeling idk how to start? like should i go by most kudos?? etc. sorry if this makes barely any sense lol

Haha, my strategy is a little all over the place? Generally I start with my bookmarks and scan through to see if there's any fics there that fit the parameters of the request. And sometimes as soon as I read the request, a fic will come to mind and I'll go looking for it.

I'll also usually check out my favourite authors to remind myself of what they've written that I haven't bookmarked that might fit, since there are certain authors where pretty much everything they write is gold: @carpisuns, @chatonne-rousse, @coffeebanana, @emsylcatac, @kasienda, @lnc2, @karkalicious769, @ladyofthenoodle, @ominousunflower, @sariahsue, @somethingvaguetodo, @gabriel-agreste-has-no-rights, @thelibraryloser, therealjanebingley, @trashcatontherooftop...to name a few. There are tons of amazing authors in this fandom, those are just some of the ones where I consistently enjoy everything they post! (Or at least what they post for my fandom/ship haha)

Anyway, at that point, depending on how specific the request is, I often take to browsing the tags on AO3. I search within the love square tag with all of my exclusions on, which are based purely on my preferences, notably filtering for polyamory, the Luka and Kagami threesomes and foursomes, as well as MCD and rape/non-con, since I don't want to read those. I also do complete works only since, while I will read and rec WIPs, I don't want to take on a new WIP when I'm looking for recs. I also generally filter out works under 800 words. Nothing against short fics, but there's a lot of them and they tend not to be for me. Plus it catches a lot of the fic finding posts that annoy me. I'll then add in additional tags based on the request, like "soulmates" or an episode title or additional character.

And then I just scroll and read...a lot...

Sometimes as I'm scrolling I'll recognize a fic and then I'll flip to the comments to see if I left a comment, which is the best indicator that I liked a fic and should rec it.

When I find a fic I want to rec, I email it to myself with a line of what rec list it's for. Then, when I'm ready, I compile them all into one of my posts!

I do sometimes sort by kudos, but I'm not a huge fan as the oldest fics in the fandom are the most kudos. And, honestly, there are some very highly kudosed fics that I just don't like. I will sometimes set a minimum kudos threshold, filtering out works with less than 50 or 100 kudos depending on how many works my search is returning (I'm not scrolling through 800+ pages of fic...I think my limit is around 100). But I'm loathe to set it too high since, as I think I've shown with my hidden gems recs, there are some seriously underrated fics in this fandom, and I'm always excited when I can bring attention to a fic that really didn't get the love I think it deserved.

I also don’t finish every fic I start to read. If I see a giant block of text, it’s an instant back button for me. If I start reading and get bored or don’t like the characterizations or really for any reason at all I’m just not enjoying it, I just exit out. Reading fic is supposed to be fun, so if I’m not having fun, I just don’t do it. And again, taste is completely subjective. I’m actually incredibly picky in my reading! I don’t owe it to anyone to read/finish their fic unless, like, I’ve agreed to beta. I have an incredibly demanding job and three young kids. Frankly, my time is too valuable to spend on fics I’m not enjoying. At the end of the day, it’s a hobby. But sometimes, especially with all of the posts floating around demanding engagement, there can be a lot of pressure to continue on. I often have to remind myself that I don’t owe engagement to anyone. I engage with fics because I enjoy doing so. If I’m not having fun, it’s time to stop.

In terms of finding fics to read for you personally, I suggest that you adopt my approach to reading fic in a new fandom. Find an author you like, and go through their bookmarks. When you like a fic, check out the author's works to see if they have more like it. Then check out that author's bookmarks and so on. And feel free to back button when you discover that you and the author have wildly different takes!

When I see it all written out like this, I realize how ridiculous my process probably looks. But I really do enjoy looking for recs! I love to read fic, and the requests help focus my fic reading so I’m not just aimlessly looking for more fic.

Hi parm, sorry if this is kind of a weird question to ask. Does reblogging ur own posts do anything for the algorithm even if u don’t have any followers? I just started a brand new tumblr and have less than 5 followers so it doesn’t feel like reblogging my own fic would do anything

it's not weird at all! tumblr is unique when it comes to social medias in how it operates and how users connect with one another.

so tumblr doesn't actually have an algorithm, and this is why it's so important to reblog other peoples' works or posts so you can help THEM reach a wider audience.

i reblog my works because i have a good amount of followers and they're all in different time zones, not to mention i'm not the only person they follow. it's just a way to make sure that something i want seen IS seen by the peoples whose dashes i haunt. there's a limit to how much you should do this so you don't flood peoples' dashes.

sometimes i'll self reblog a fic ~12 hours after posting, and then sometime the following day after the first reblog. don't be afraid to reblog your older works, too! not everyone has seen them, especially if they've followed you a significant amount of time after the fact.

typically high activity = more followers if you're looking for that sort of thing. the way tumblr works is that the first time something is posted (OP posting it), it shows up under any tags that are put on it. any reblogs with tags won't show up in the public tag.

for example, if you were write a silco fic, you could tag it the following and it would show up in those tags for others to see when THEY look at that tag.

an example of my tags on a SFW silco fic could be as follows: silco, silco arcane, arcane, silco x reader, f!reader, afab!reader, fanfiction, fanfic etc etc etc (you can go to my master list and look at the tags on any of my fics for an example!)

another use for tags is that someone can navigate your blog more easily. using the archive function on a blog, you can look at the tags they use and look at what they've posted under that tag. if you go to mine, "silco x reader" is what i tag EVERY silco fic with, and if you filter with that it's like a pseudo master list. if you want to know more about me, you can use my "chickenparm deep lore" tag. tags are extremely useful for sorting out a blog that would otherwise be an endless scrolling struggle!

also keep in mind that if you're going to put stuff in what people might call the "main tag" (the silco tag for example) it'll be public and others can and will see it. that means it's common courtesy to keep track of what you've written about and put it somewhere in either the post's tags, or somewhere in the post itself. that way, if someone has a particular tag or type of post content blocked, they can safely curate their online experience with the bare minimum of input on your part. if anyone wants me to go into further detail on this (or on how to block tags/post content) i'd be more than happy to!

I’ve been thinking about leaving the fandom because Feyre and Rhys just feel a bit too under appreciated sometimes. The slander they get is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen pulled out of someone’s ass that i don’t know if I care to tolerate it anymore, they look for issues where there aren’t any and people say they’re the most loved but if that’s the case then those who are inactive and don’t voice their support for them suck then lol. I’ve never seen a fandom hate on the mains who had the most books this much, acosf wasn’t good enough for that book and it’s characters to be the main focus i’m sorry I don’t get it. I’m new here and if Feysand aren’t properly praised why am I even here..I love your account and a few others but I just feel like some stan’s do the bare minimum while most of the anti’s are the most vocal in this fandom.

Anon, I get you. I really, really do. Every two days I am thinking about leaving the fandom and if you really want to leave, if it's bothering you, then please do it. Even if it's just some silly internet drama, it can go on your mental health and I want y'all to be happy and positive and enjoy reading as your hobby.

On the other hand, if you'd like to stay, Tumblr has the function to block tags and I think keywords (not sure about that but I am sure about the tags) and you can organize what you want to see. You can filter out most of the anti Feyre, anti Rhys, anti IC and anti feysand shit. (I can show you a post where someone showed how filtering works)

I think you hit the nail on the head with your last sentence. The antis are vocal, the antis are loud but that doesn't mean they are in the majority. There are so, so many casual readers who love feysand. What you see in the fandom is just a tiny portion of fans.

I'd love it if you stay and we can be a voice for Feysand together but mental health matters the most and like I already said: if you want to leave, then do. Even if it's just a short break, there will always be a place for you between us Feysand stans (and in my asks <3)

And a little add: I think it's kinda unfair (no criticism to you, totally get what you mean) to say that some stans do the bare minimum because being in a fandom is supposed to be fun and voluntarily. Like, you said yourself that all this negativity drags you down and this is how a lot of people feel, including the big blogs.

Hey this is a good point because recently (and over time) i've really tried to reduce my maintagging because i do realize how much of an issue this is. I really now try to tag the bare minimum of who is referenced in a main post of mine (so like if im liveblogging ranboo and billzo id tag them both if they are both mentioned in the post). However I don't want to be contributing to the issue but also i do maintag for organization/to be accurate. So if you want to come back on anon (or any other mutuals/etc) want to like contribute to this like yeah like i guess i'd want to hear more thoughts so I can tag better and not overly clog tags.

So I'm going to be writing fanfics again. However, due to a recent increase in threats to my life and my well-being anon asks are permanently revoked. So, here's my new rules

Fandom-madness69 FanFic Rules

1. Do NOT request any fic about any character under the age of 18 (honestly 21 because I'm almost 30 over here but 18 is reluctantly acceptable). I don't care if you write aged up fics I personally don't. I don't even read them and usually block everyone I see who doesn't even do the bare minimum (aging the character up).

2. So you want your request to remain anonymous? Good thing that's still an option! Here's how to go about making your fic request private. Step One, follow me. Step Two, send an ask for me to follow you back because you have a fic request and my DMs are set to people I follow back. Step Three, DM me either an already established anonymous tag you use. If you don't have one we will make one. Step Four, send your request!

3. Understand that I deleted all my previously anonymous asks for fanfics so if you requested one back in November I'm sorry but life got to me and I wasn't in control of the meat suit (I have actually diagnosed D.I.D.) back then!

4. Do NOT request IRL people or you x someone IRL! I will gladly write Fictional Character x Reader (female, male, non-binary, trans, etc. pronouns) fics until the cows come home!

5. Understand that I am going to be moving to a new house between now and the middle of March. I will get these done as fast as I can. There are at least 15 other factors as to why my schedule is tight right now but that's the most impactful.

6. I have a list of things I will not do. If you guys need me to post that so you can just go look at it and not have to worry about the embarrassment of asking if I do or not, then I will do that at a later date. For now let me put it to you this way, non-con without an established dynamic full of that is a no, foot jobs are a no, and holes other than the main three are a hell no!

7. This isn't really a rule but in case you're reading this and just curious as to why I'm putting myself back out there after everything I have one answer. I am a writer and I must. Especially when I actively worship the Muses and understand that they might not always give the inspiration I want directly, so it's up to me to open more doorways and find that inspiration that they're sewing in (for the book I'm writing that I want to publish).

8. Remember this is supposed to be fun and horny/fluffy/angsty! So if you don't like how I write a fic DON'T READ IT!

9. I will 100% be posting the list of tags I use for TW/CW, in a post that I will link at the beginning of each fic when I put the brief description of the fic at the beginning.

i don’t know how to deal with the fact that one of my favorite actors is completely ignoring the ongoing genocide. the implication of their silence and them not even deigning to share a call for a ceasefire is something I genuinely can’t get past. they haven’t even cleared the bar of doing the bare minimum and i’m finding it hard to imagine engaging with any media they’re a part of at this point.

Hey love! So from the get go, I just want to say you are absolutely not bothering me whatsoever, okay? I’m glad that you feel safe / comfortable enough to come talk to me about how you’re feeling, and honestly like... if people are weird in my anons, I’ll block them. You’re good!

I’ll also be honest that I’m still trying to navigate my feelings with this specific thing happening with a couple of my favorites too. Like on the one hand, I obviously prefer that they’re not actively calling for the deaths of Palestinians given how many horrible posts I've seen from celebs doing that, but on the other hand, being silent is frankly just enabling genocide at this point and I fail to see how anyone doesn’t see that. It’s part of why I’m frustrated with people who were posting daily at the beginning and hasn’t posted the entirety of 2024 about it as well currently, because like... right now it’s extremely important to keep posting.  So I’m taking this case by case currently, and keeping an eye on the letters and stuff (because a lot of celebs are not posting zionist on IG to avoid being canceled rn and signing shit like the Biden letter, but on the flip side there’s been celebs I personally haven’t seen post yet, but I’ve seen photos of in the streets protesting for a ceasefire) right now, and in a lot of cases I’m leaning towards drop so you may see me drop more and more people as time goes on, but I’m gonna keep my eyes on stuff and see how it continues to go.

That being said, I got your anon about who we’re discussing and... yeah, so I kinda already have dropped her and decided to only post her when my friends tag me in stuff of hers for a variety of reasons (including realizing the sheer amount of vocal transphobes she follows and engages with, and not being able to think of a single time she has positively discussed the trans community) until I 100% decide how I feel about her - it may even end up being a 100% no reblog situation, we'll see after I sort out my feelings. But she did post in October, and I’ll put that post that IG story under the read more. I’ll be completely honest though, I wouldn’t expect any future posts from her, and between her closest friends politics / posts on the matter and what I know about the area she grew up in (because I have family who lives in the same town), I’m not sure we’d like any posts she’d make if she did decide to post about Palestine. Like it sucked dropping someone I was following/loved like a decade, but I'm trusting my gut on this one you know? Would rather listen to it and get proven wrong, than not and be proven right in this situation, personally 💕
