happy new year Ego!!! Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely adore your twst fanart and the tags are just an absolute pleasure to read! You are my greatest inspiration for my personal twst art and I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful masterpieces <333 if possible, may I ask what are some of your headcanons for the diasomnia family? If not for diasomnia then any other characters are fine as well!
thank you, and happy new year! 💚💜💚 that is amazing to hear; it's always a little bewildering but super flattering that other people like my silly little doodles so much!
I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)
I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!
also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...
...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

ermmmmm okay so i dont usualllyyyyyyyy make fandom-talky posts but i cant get it off my mind and ive already talked to my friends about it sooooo yk….. here we are.
SOOO anyway i feel like i see a lot of people talk about how katniss and peeta were sort of like. Destined for each other and that they would have still gotten together regardless of the games happening or not and im gonna be real, as much as i love them, i really disagree.
i just feel that given their circumstances katniss just would not have allowed it to happen. her whole like,, Arc in the story is her becoming able to allow it. even if peeta did approach her, even if she did like him back, she just wouldnt have allowed him to get close, or opened herself up to him, due to that fear she has. this is not a world where she could live a normal life or get married or have a family. she doesn’t have time for love when she has to take care of her mother and sister. she can’t open the possibility of future children in her life when there is the constant threat that they will die, either through the games or starvation. it’s just not something that would happen.
like, i like the concept of soulmates as much as the next person and i see where everyone’s coming from. i Know that there’s some sort of romeo and juliet parallels happening here, especially with the “star-crossed lovers” thing, but, i’d also like to note that a lot of that came from the capitol observing their romance, not,, their actual love. a lot of people bring up the “this would have happened anyway” line, but i feel like that line is still more in reference to the outcome of the games happening.
but, i feel that this doesnt like,, Cheapen? or weaken? or invalidate their love. if anything, i feel that it makes it better, more interesting.
in fact, i’d argue that katniss and peeta are the Opposite of soulmates. i think there’s just something so interesting in the fact that katniss and peeta weren’t supposed to love each other.
they were supposed to hate each other. they were supposed to want each other dead.
everything about their circumstances was designed for that. they are from a district in which their classes are divided and have spite brewed between them, they went into the hunger games where they were meant to be adversaries, they were meant to resent and kill one another once again after peeta got hijacked.
everything was aligned perfectly so that there would be hate and resentment and bitterness between these two, and they defied all of it. and i think this is the part where a lot of people would then view this as them being soulmates— that no matter the circumstances, that no matter what’s thrown at them, the outcome will still be that they find each other. it’s written in the stars.
however, i feel like it’s actually much more powerful when it’s interpreted that they weren’t supposed to be together. it wasn’t written in the stars that they would find love— they chose it. they fought tooth and nail to be together. and i honestly think this is way more impactful than the concept that they were meant to be.
because they weren’t. however, it’s Their lives and they aren’t going to let the universe control them. they’re going to put in the effort and work to be together in spite of everything else. not only is it a good message in general, but i also feel that it’s especially fitting, for two characters whose world has attempted to revoke their autonomy time and time again, that the person they chose in the end was entirely their choice. and like idk to Me that’s way more meaningful and romantic i guess ??? idk. shrug emoji

it bothers me when people say sokka never got “closure” over the loss of kya the way katara did when facing yon rha, because that was such an important moment for katara personally, and sokka simply didn’t need that. of course losing kya was devastating for sokka, but her death wasn’t personal for him the way it was for katara. she literally died to protect katara.
to sokka, kya’s death was a casualty of the war, a loss at the hands of the fire nation, and he got “closure” when he won the war. but he didn’t need to face his mother’s killer the way katara did because he never built up an entire personal mythology of avenging her not only through facing her killer (he never saw yon rha, unlike katara) but also through working as hard as possible to become a master waterbender so as to be “worthy” of such a sacrifice.
katara carries the burden of being the last waterbender of her tribe not only on a cultural level, but also a personal one. it is an enormous burden that she must contend with on many levels, and katara needed to face yon rha because seeing his humanity, his vulnerability, helped her to confront and embrace her own.
when sokka says “she was my mother too” and katara responds “then you didn’t love her the way i did,” she’s wrong to say that, but only because what she really means is “then you didn’t grieve her the way i did.” which is true. sokka did not have that personal connection to kya’s death, and therefore did not feel the need to avenge her, to prove that her sacrifice was not in vain.
if anything, sokka felt more impacted by hakoda’s absence, because he felt the need to inhabit his role. katara felt the need to inhabit kya’s role because she knows that kya is gone because of her, she died for her. of course, neither of them are very good at pretending to be their parents, and over course of the show they both learn how to be their own people and embrace their humanity outside of the roles the war forced them into.
but facing yon rha was a crucial step in katara’s journey, because this man took up so much space in katara’s narrative, and looking him in the eyes helped katara realize that he didn’t need to. that he was nothing, actually, and she is everything.

I cannot believe I spent my time speculating on the sexuality of nick cave and blixa and with all that focus there I never even found out led zeppelin was like. Gay. until you posted about it today. Is that really what all that moaning in the music was about???
well they never explicitly said they were Gay it's not a mick jagger or even a morrissey situation. however and im being so genuine about this when you look at the extant texts it's incredibly hard not to see how heavily queer-coded their stage presence and to a degree their public perception was and also how gay-adjacent they were (this is obviously most notable wrt plant and page who even aside from all the truthing and onstage moaning just had an extraordinarily toxic yaoi personal relationship).

Another thing that these charts made me start thinking about again, is the whole gender issue with the Elohim angels. They're all able to more or less change at will to whatever they want/suits their view of themselves, with the help of the Sacred Waters. (minus Enoch and Elijah, who don't need it, but struggle to actually change, the longer they stay in one particular form) But shortly after they were all created, their father, who had long since been driven mad by an affliction called the tzowld (which I have to write a little thing about eventually, but today is not that day!), ordered them to all take male forms.
Though he never outright expressed to them why he wanted them to do so, they've all done a good deal of speculation about it. That it's because he wanted them to be closer to him than their mother, Heaven, or because he didn't want to be reminded of their mother as much as possible when he looked at them. They don't believe that it's because of anything like him seeing males as "superior" to other genders and sexes, since...really, he only cared enough to believe that he was superior to everyone else.
Regardless of his reasoning though, with their father (and mother, for that matter) now dead, they're free to take whatever form they wish to. Which has had me wondering if any of them would choose to do so, since almost half of them-- Jophiel (nb), Sachiel (f), Jehiel (f), and Yeheriel (inter) out of the older Elohim siblings, and Gabriel (nb), Remiel (nb), and Azrael (inter) out of the younger siblings, as well as Enoch (f)-- originally chose/weren't male before that.
And I realized that, while two or three of them might have already done so (I'm thinking probably Eri, Emi, and maybe Azra though I see him more-so going back and forth as he pleases), the rest have probably just stayed as they are. The main reasons being that they haven't really fully realized "Hey, I have a choice in this now" yet, or because they're just so used to it that even if they wanted to change, they'd probably feel like they were doing something wrong (Jophi and Sachi). Or they're so used to it that they've just become more comfortable staying as they are. (Gabe and Jehi)
As for Enoch, it's more a mix of the second one, where it would feel like he was doing something wrong, but more-so just that it would feel so incredibly vulnerable to him. It would be like he was suddenly walking around completely naked, or something. Not to mention it just brings up some bad memories for him...so even if a part of him does want to change back, (or more likely, just to be able to change to whatever he likes, whenever he likes) I'm not sure if he'll be able to convince himself to do so any time soon.

i'm sorry i did that to your post. i was suddenly stricken by the thought "this poor blogger with a 4 note post from like 3 months ago is now suddenly inundated by the followers of the President John Tyler Blog." goes to show you're never safe on this app. it was a good post
nahhh, it's alright lol. it just really caught me off-guard initially because i didn't expect anyone to find that random post i made, especially cause i didn't tag it lol. i keep forgetting that you can find posts like that through keyword searches since i did mention Jackson in my tags. but i don't mind when people reblog my posts. if i really do, the reblogs'll be off, i just never expect people to find them
but it's so funny. Civil War blogs jumpscare
i feel validated though because i thought that post was really funny and it was a flop on here since i usually post a lot of fandom stuff and just subject my followers to history posts at random KDSJ
